Chapter 6: Brainfreeze

Loona walks up to the barista behind the counter who was a young teenage female imp with long white hair tied up into a cute ponytail.

"Hi welcome to Sasha's sweet drinks. What'll it be?" The barista said in a laidback deadpanned tone

"I'll have a large fiery mango slushy and one small strawberry banana smoothie." Loona said

"Will that be all?"

"Mmhmm" Loona nodded

"*sigh* Coming right up. That'll be $12.20" The barista said

Loona reached into the pocket of her shorts to grab out some cash and properly count it up. As Loona was counting her money, the barista laid her eyes on Jax who cutely waved at her from his carrier pouch.

"Aww. Hey there." The barista smiled lightly as she waved back with her fingers

After paying the barista and giving her name for the order, Loona took a seat and settled in at one of the tables with Jax on her lap. Loona had the carrier harness off so she could sit comfortably. As they waited on their order, Jax was burying his little muzzle in a small plastic cup of whipped cream given to him free by the barista. Basically like a puppuccino.

*Slurp, slurp, slurp, lick, lick, slurp*

Jax licked away at the fluffy white substance. Loona had to take out her phone and snap a few pictures of this moment.

"Jax look up at the camera." Loona smiled aiming her phone at him

Jax did so and looked up to the phone with his little black nose hilariously covered in the cream.

"*giggles* Dude you're a messy one." Loona giggled as she took the pic

Jax quickly finished up his pup cup and Loona wiped his nose clean with a napkin before they took a few fun selfies together. Soon the barista had their two cold beverages ready.

"Order for Loona!" the barista called out as she presented two filled colorful cups on the counter

Loona gets up and goes to pickup the large slushy for herself and the small smoothie for Jax.

"Hey I like your pup by the way. He's pretty cute." The barista said in a laidback friendly tone

"Hehe Thanks. He was born just yesterday." Loona jokingly lied

"Well congrats." The barista smiled

Loona returns to the table with Jax beaming up in excitement upon seeing the drinks.

"Look what I got kiddo!" Loona smiled presenting the tasty drinks in her hands

"Hehe Yummy yummy!" Jax babbled happily on the floor as Loona sat down back in her seat

Loona sets her slushy drink on the table before taking out an empty baby bottle. She removes the top and pours Jax's pink smoothie in it before closing it back up. Loona then scoops Jax back up on her lap.

"Here you go Jax drink up. But don't give yourself brain freeze." Loona said as she cradled Jax and helped him drink from his bottle

Jax savored the cold and wonderful taste of his strawberry banana smoothie. It was blasting, sweet, and fun. Unfortunately he forgot Loona's early warning and was enjoying his smoothie too much and sucking it down too fast that he unintentionally gave himself brainfreeze causing his face to scrunch up.

"Oh! Owie owie!" Jax yelped in distress as he held his head in pain

"Woah I told you to watch yourself kiddo." Loona said as she took the bottle away and caringly rubbed her pup's head to help him endure through it

After the brainfreeze faded away, Jax drank from his bottle again but this time he took careful sips. Loona lets Jax hold his bottle by himself so she could start enjoying her orange fiery mango slushy cup. The two hellhounds happily drank together until they finished up and got ready to leave.

Loona fits the carrier harness back on herself and sits Jax back in the pouch. As she walked towards the front door of the cafe to leave, the mean lady imp from earlier opened her mouth to say something.

"You are-"

"SAY ONE WORD AND I'LL MAUL YOUR FACE OFF!" Loona warned causing the lady to recoil back in fear. Loona proceeds to leave the cafe leaving the lady speechless again.

Later in the afternoon

Loona and Jax were now at a small community playground park filled with other demon kids and their parents. Jax was playing in the playground sand box with 2 young imp kids playing along next to him. He was having fun using a small bucket to dump out hardened sand and form whatever sand structure he had in his mind. Meanwhile Loona was relaxing on a nearby bench watching him. Loona kept a close eye on Jax making sure he was playing safe and no random demon kid comes out of nowhere to bully him randomly.

Suddenly...

"Hello there Loona."

Loona's ears perk up on hearing the familiar gentle voice. She looks to her left and it was Octavia.

"Oh hey Octavia. What's brings you here?" Loona greeted

"Oh I was just out for a walk and then I found you. What are you doing here?" Octavia asked as she sat down next to Loona on the bench

"Oh I'm just letting Jax play at this playground before I take him back to headquarters." Loona said

With that, Octavia scans the playground but couldn't get a sight on Jax.

"Umm...I don't seem to see him." Octavia said

"He's right over there in that sandbox." Loona pointed

Octavia looks over at the sandbox and could see 2 imp children and one baby hellhound playing. Octavia double looks at the baby hellhound. It looked a lot like Jax because of the maching fur color and pattern.

"Umm Loona? Are you telling me that...that..."

"Yep. That's him alright. I'm not playing." Loona said

"But...why is he smaller than the last time I saw him? And why is he wearing a cushy diaper?" Octavia asked flabbergasted

With that, Loona lights up a cigarette and proceeds to explain to Octavia the whole story about Jax's age regressing incident with the grimoire.

1 minute of explaining later

"And so he will be like this for the next 2 weeks until it wears off." Loona finished

"Ohhhh...well that's...quite the interesting story Loona. I never really knew the grimoire could turn one into an infant like that." Octavia said astonished

"Well now you know." Loona said as she tossed away her cigarette

Meanwhile Jax was still playing in the sandbox. But when he looked to his right to reach for a small sand shovel, his sight landed on Octavia sitting and chatting with Loona. Immediately Jax stood up and stepped out of the sandbox and excitedly waddled his way over to the two.

"Well look who stumbled on over." Loona smiled at Jax approaching

"Birdy! Birdy!" Jax cooed as he waddled towards Octavia

Octavia smiled and blushed upon hearing the cute baby talk.

"You can pick him up if you want." Loona granted

With that Octavia reaches down and lifts the infant hellhound onto her lap facing her.

"Well hello there love." Octavia warmly greeted as she tenderly caressed his furry cheeks with her soft fingers

Immediately Jax closed his eyes and sank into deep bliss from Octavia's caressing. Octavia then gave Jax a nice little boop on his nose with her thumb.

"Boop!"

"Teehehe...Eh-ah-Achoo!" Jax sneezed in response

"Awwww bless you." Octavia smiled as she brought Jax into a warm embrace on her chest

"Softy feathews." Jax cooed as he snuggles up against Octavia's neck and nuzzles her face in response

"I'm almost jealous of you Loona. He's even more cuter than before." Octavia said as her heart was melting

"*sigh* Yeah. He's so damn precious. Almost makes me wish he stays this way and not change back." Loona sighed

Suddenly Octavia was getting a warm feeling coming from Jax's diaper. Immediately she looks down and sees his diaper turning slightly yellow.

"Uh oh. Um Loona, I think Jax just..."

"He what? What happened?" Loona asked in concern

"He went potty on himself." Octavia informed

"I needs new diapee. I peepee." Jax said with a guilty expression

"Oh I see. Just lay him down on the bench and give me one second." Loona said as she turns around to grab something from the carrier harness

After Octavia gently lays Jax on his back, Loona turns back around with a fresh new diaper in her hand.

"Here wanna give it a shot?" Loona offered holding the diaper to Octavia

"Oh umm...I uhhh" Octavia hesitated

"Don't worry it's just like changing underwear. I'll walk you through it step by step. It's not as bad as you think." Loona assured

Eventually Octavia gave in to try out her first time diaper change. With Loona's instructions, Octavia carefully untaped and removed Jax's soaked diaper before tossing it into the public trashcan next to the bench. After a quick cleaning with a wiping towelette and baby powdering, Octavia slipped the new diaper on Jax and taped it up finishing the change successfully.

"Wow that was pretty easy." Octavia said as she helped Jax sit back up

"See I told you." Loona smiled

"Freshy diapee!" Jax babbled happily

For the next 10 minutes Loona and Octavia casually chatted with each other as they both gently pushed baby Jax back and forth on the playground swing set. Soon it was time for them to part ways.

After exchanging goodbyes, Loona leaves the playground with Jax and goes straight back to the I.M.P headquarters in time for Blitzo and the others to return from the living world.
