Beauty & The Beast: A D-Rank Mission
Chapter 1

Once upon a time in a far away land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired the prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind.
"Heh- they really got you there Sasuke."
"Shut up, Dobe."
"Hmph." The blonde stuck out his lower lip at the smirking Uchiha, who's gaze hesitated far too long on his pink pouty lips. He quickly looked away, ignoring Naruto's puzzled expression.
But then one winter's night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance-
"Ha! Sakura, did you hear what they- Oww!! Hey! What the hell was that for!?"
The fuming pink-haired shinobi held her clenched fists up, promising a second punch if he got out of line again. "Shut up, Naruto! We're supposed to be listening to the narrator!"
The prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within, and when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress.The prince tried to apologize,
"Phfff- unlikely" Naruto muttered.
- but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart.
"Now that's likely."
Sasuke glared, but remained silent.
And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who live there. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the Beast concealed himself inside his castle with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.
The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year. If he could learn to love another and earn their love in returned by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.
As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope .. for who could ever learn to love a beast.
"Alright- so Sakura's the granny-Cinderella or whatever" her eyebrow pulsed, "and Sasuke's Prince Loveless-" Sasuke rolled his eyes, "so what does that make me?"
Naruto pondered this for a moment then looked up, eyes shining. "Oh my god- do I get to play Gaston?! Alright! I'm the tough guy!"
"Naruto" Kakashi tried, but the blonde just kept yammering on.
"He's all masculine and buff, and his songs are the best. Ha! Take that Sasuke- you can be the fancy prince, I'll be the big-"
"Naruto!!"
Naruto looked up, his fox-like grin stretched across his face as he bragged about his new role. "Did you say something, Kakashi-sensei?"
"You're not playing Gaston."
Naruto looked confused, Kakashi looked uncomfortable, Sakura looked pale, Sasuke looked pleased.
"But then.. what am I-?"
"You'll be playing Belle."
The room was quiet for one wonderfully peaceful second when it finally clicked. Cerulean eyes suddenly grew huge, and Naruto shot up out of his seat.
"I'm WHAT?!"

I am so excited to write this story. First of all I am, and have always been, obsessed with Beauty & The Beast (the animated one only). No joke- the beast was my first crush. Aggressive monsters are just kind of my weakness lol
Also, I haven't done a comedy FanFic yet and I'm so overdue for one. I like to add funny stuff in my angsty romances for sure- because comedic relief and honestly it just pops in my head while I'm writing it. But this- this is something different. And after my last sad, messed up story I feel like I needed this change of pace.
Anyways, thank you so so so much for checking this one out. I hope you enjoy it and I hope it makes you laugh.. or at least occasionally smile and shake your head. ~
