A/N: All I am going to say about this is at one point, I was inspired by the latest episode of Station 19. I hope you enjoy.
Standing in front of the mirror, Arizona quickly and expertly wrapped a hair tie around the bottom of her braid and looked up at her reflection as she ran her hands over her new outfit. Letting her gaze flicker down, it landed on the pale legs extending from white shorts. Though the fabric rested at mid-thigh, she was showing more leg than she does when wearing a dress and far more than she had in nearly six years, in public anyway. Focusing on the alabaster skin, visually comparing the two limbs much like her daughter did the day before, she realized at that moment exactly how authentic the robotic limb looked, how talented her girlfriend really was. Twisting and turning, it occurred to her that unlike her 'sexy leg', it would take more than just a cursory glance to figure out this was a prosthesis. Someone would actually have to stare, study it for a few minutes to see it and most people were too polite to do that. Tucking her hands in her pockets, she took in her overall appearance, newly cut short hair French braided into two pigtails, royal blue silk tank top, white shorts and her favorite, the cute strappy leather sandals she had been deprived of for so long, she did look like a whole new person and felt like a whole new person. She felt whole again, but not because of the leg, the clothes, or the haircut, no she felt whole again because her heart had healed, the sparkle of being in love was in her eyes, and the love of her life was by her side. Reaching into her jewelry box, she chose her favorite diamond studs that just so happened to be a gift from her girlfriend early in their relationship and quickly adorned her ears with the sparkly gems then reached for the gold necklace that had taken up permanent residence at the bottom of the wooden container. Though the metal was cold, she could feel the warmth it always brought her, the strength rise up within her, the love wash over her. She wondered briefly if it was too soon, but she knew in her heart, it was right, it was time.
Holding the object in her hand, she turned toward the door as Callie entered her room, head down, arms lifted behind the back of her neck as she asked, "Honey can you help me with this please?" Arizona smiled at both the brunette's presence and the term of endearment as she rushed to the door to help her girlfriend, thinking she had forgotten to tear the tag out of her new shirt before putting it on. Callie's skin was so sensitive and she had to rip all the tags out of her clothing or she would rub and scratch at it until she hurt herself. Slipping behind the taller woman who was now bending her knees slightly to give her a better view, Arizona tugged at the neckline of the black shirt prepared to pull out the offending tag when she noticed tan fingers grasping at a tiny silver clasp. She blinked back tears and swallowed the lump in her throat as she took the tiny metal objects between her own fingers and carefully joined them together. Placing both hands on the taller woman's shoulder blades, she leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the back of Callie's neck where the silver chain now rested. She knew what was at the other end of that necklace, knew when she turned around, she would see her heart resting against soft caramel skin, exactly where it belonged. She mentally breathed a sigh of relief as she tightened her grip on the object in her left hand and placed it on Callie's shoulder, gently prompting her to turn around to face her as she traced the chain on the tan skin with her right, finally holding the tiny charm in her hand.
When Arizona looked up, she noticed Callie was biting her bottom lip and her eyes were darting nervously around the room. Callie didn't know why she was so anxious, but Arizona still hasn't said anything, hasn't made a sound, maybe it was too soon. They had put these chains on and…taken them off, several times, but somehow, this time felt different, this time…felt like the last time. It wasn't that she worried if they took them off again they would never go back on, but because this time, she knew once they were there, they would never come off again. These necklaces always served as their promise to one another, their solace in trying times, their strength during times of weakness. To her, they were more sacred than their wedding rings, more binding than any vow. Finally she whispered out, "Umm is this…uh…is this okay?" She watched nervously as Arizona held her left hand up between them and opened her closed fist as a gold chain dropped down to dangle from her fingers. Letting out a huge sigh of relief, feeling tears spring to her eyes, she finally looked into the blue eyes she loved so much and saw the watery proof that this moment, this single act was just as important, just as special to Arizona as it was to her. Taking the gold chain from the shaky pale hand, Callie placed it around the smaller woman's neck and easily hooked the two ends together. Dropping her left hand to her girlfriend's hip, she slid her right hand down, feeling the cool metal glide against her fingers until she too held the tiny heart in her hands.
The two women stood staring into the eyes of the other, left hands resting on the hip of the other, right hand holding the small metal heart that served as a representation of their own hanging around the neck of the other. Taking a deep breath, Arizona looked at the heart in her hand and said, "Nearly ten years ago, we bought these for each other as a Valentine's Day gift and the real surprise was we had bought the same thing without knowing. When I placed this heart around your neck for the first time, I promised to love you for the rest of my life, I promised you were then and always would be the only person to ever truly hold my heart, I promised that as long as you wore this, as long as you held my heart near yours, I would protect you, give you strength, encourage you, and support you. Since then…" She stopped and took a shaky breath then continued, "Since then, I have broken many promises even our wedding vows, I have stretched your patience, tested your love, and lost you time and again, but those promises I made that day, they will always remain true. I will love you for the rest of my life, you are still the only person who has ever held my heart, and as long as you hold my heart, I will protect you, strengthen you, encourage you, and support you. I belong to you Calliope Torres, heart, body, and soul and this is my symbol to you that I always will."
Callie felt the hot tears streaming down her cheeks, could taste the saltiness as she opened her mouth to speak. Licking her lips, she looked at the heart in her hands as she said, "Ten years ago, when I saw we had chosen the same gift, I knew we were made for each other. When I first placed this around your neck, I told you I never knew what it meant to love or be loved until you came into my life. I never knew what it meant to look into someone else's eyes only to see my past fade away and my future to become so clear. Before you, I was treading water, gasping for air, when you followed me into a dirty bar bathroom and placed your lips on mine, you breathed life into me, you touched my soul, you stole my heart. When I first gave this to you, I told you I was giving my heart to you freely, I promised to love you until the end of time, I promised that as long as you held my heart, I would only see my future in your eyes." Lifting her left hand to wipe the tears streaming down pale cheeks, Callie added, "After you, I was drowning in despair once again. I lost sight of our love, I fought it for a long time, but those words never failed to hold true, I will love you until the end of time, I will only ever see my future in your eyes because you are the only person who has ever held my heart. I was made for you, I belong to you Arizona Robbins, heart, body, and soul and this is my symbol to you that I always will."
Still holding the tiny hearts in their hands, both women looked up into the eyes of the woman who held her heart, owned her soul, and each saw the truth behind the words, the love behind the action, and the promise of the future. They both felt the weight of this moment, they both knew they had just recommitted themselves to each other, they both knew though the time would come for them to remarry, it was here, in this instance that their souls were joined together once again. Leaning down to seal their promise with a kiss, Callie's voice trembled as she said, "I love you." Arizona's breath hitched as she returned, "I love you." When their lips met this time, they both felt the jolt of electricity that was ever present, they both felt the passion which always burned just below the surface, but this time, as pink lips pressed against red, as tongue slid against tongue, they both felt the exact moment the other surrendered her soul, offering it up and trusting that it was once again safe in the hands of the woman she loved. Pulling back, they rested their foreheads together, looked into one another's eyes and released their signature heart melting, soul searing smiles. NOW they were ready to move forward, NOW they could face the future and what it had to offer, because NOW they were once again Callie and Arizona and they were stronger than ever.

As Callie rounded the SUV and opened the door for Arizona, she was met with a grumpy pout which only meant one thing, "I hope food is in your secret plan for the day. I'm starving Calliope." Callie chuckled; the only thing Arizona hated more than surprises was being hungry. She knew her girlfriend was moments away from becoming hangry and that was a monster she didn't want to deal with. Bending down and nibbling on the pouty lip, she reassured, "Actually, that is the secret plan. We always wanted to do the walking tasting tour at Pike's Place Market and never got around to it. I found a walking food tour that also included some local culture and history. I figured we could eat, soak up some culture, and you could get acquainted with the area at the same time, two…ah three birds with one stone." Arizona perked up at the idea of getting to do something they'd always talked about, but more so at the thought that she could eat soon, but until then, she would remain cranky and grumbled out, "As long as we eat first, the other birds can live." Callie shook her head and reached into the glove box and pulled out a granola bar handing it over to the blonde whose eyes lit up like it was Christmas as she snatched the bar and tore at the wrapper. Arizona wasn't sure, but she could swear her girlfriend just mumbled something about being a child. Before closing the door, she reached into her purse and took out her cellphone, wallet, and lipstick and handed them to Callie. Looking down at the objects being held out to her, Callie raised her perfect brow in question as to why they were being offered to her. Arizona huffed and shoved them into the large pocket on the leg of Callie's shorts and simply said, "Lesbian man purse." as if her words explained everything. Callie chuckled and said, "Seriously? That's not a real thing Arizona." Arizona smirked as she stood on her tip toes, kissed Callie's cheek, and said, "It is, but even if it weren't it is now because I don't feel like carrying my purse all over Brooklyn just for my wallet and lipstick." Callie huffed in disbelief, linked their hands together and pulled her cranky girlfriend toward the meet up point for their tour.
As the tour guide spouted facts about the small Middle-Eastern bakery they were in, Callie was enthralled with the sight of her girlfriend who was currently tasting the warm knafe cheese. She watched as the blonde pulled the gooey treat apart and lifted it to her mouth, holding her head back and sticking her tongue out to capture every morsel, groaning at the taste. She had no idea how Arizona did it, but she managed to make eating cheese look sexy. Arizona turned to see Callie staring at her with obvious lust in her eyes. She would never tire of the way Callie looked at her. Peeling off another piece of the ooey gooey cheese, she held it to Callie's lips and offered, "This is amazing, here, taste it." Tipping her head back slightly, Callie stuck out her tongue and allowed her girlfriend to feed her. Clamping her lips down on the cheese and the small fingers, Callie sucked lightly then pulled her head back moaning at both the taste and the nerves thrumming through her body as she watched blue eyes widen and darken ever so slightly. Lowering her voice Callie whispered, "Hmmm maybe we should get some of this to take home." She then wiggled her eyebrows so her girlfriend would see she had something dirty in mind. She was shocked when the blonde leaned down and started rubbing against her upper thigh. Just as she was about to stop her from going any higher, Arizona popped up and brought her wallet to her face smiling at the brunette's stunned look as she quipped, "It's also more fun digging in your pants than rifling through my purse." Turning, Arizona grabbed one of the boxes that was offered and quickly paid as Callie's ramped up libido had her thinking about spreading the cheesy goodness on various parts of smooth pale skin and slowly cleaning it up.
After stopping at two more shops, learning about the local history, and tasting small samples of the house specialties, the small group found themselves in a local pub for dinner, each couple choosing to sit by themselves to have their meal. Arizona popped a fry in her mouth as she teased, "I don't want to hear you say a word about how much I spend at the bakery when we get there. Seriously Callie, what are we going to do with seventy dollars' worth of cheese?" Callie swallowed her beer as she explained, "Queso, alfredo, lasagna…" Arizona shook her head and replied, "It's a good thing I'm running again, otherwise you could just roll me everywhere." Expecting Callie to laugh, Arizona looked up to see her scowling down at her food instead. Reaching out to take her girlfriend's hand she asked, "What's wrong honey?" The brunette looked up and sighed, feeling stupid for letting past insecurities sneak up on her, hesitantly she said, "I just…I forgot what it was like to be out with you, to have everyone looking at you and I just…I got…" Still not sure what was happening, Arizona lowered her head to catch her girlfriend's eye as she asked, "What are you talking about?" Callie huffed, "Those two women over there have been staring at you for at least ten minutes." Without looking, Arizona argued, "How do you know they aren't looking at you?" She then looked over to see that two women had indeed been staring at her but not for the reason her girlfriend was thinking. Smiling brightly, Arizona hopped off her stool and pulled Callie with her as they walked toward the two women. Callie saw where they were headed and pulled her girlfriend to a stop as she hissed, "Arizona, what the hell are you doing?" Tilting her head, Arizona said, "You'll see, come on." As they got closer, the two women squealed and jumped out of their booth as they both pulled Arizona into a hug.
"Arizona! Oh my gosh, I told Dayna that was you!" The blonde woman bragged as she pulled Arizona into another tight hug. Callie stood back and watched as Arizona was nearly mauled by the two women, finally realizing they were staring because they thought they recognized her. Feeling foolish, though slightly relieved, she just watched the reunion unfold. Dayna, the brunette, spoke up and retorted, "Actually, I told you it was her; you were too busy looking at the piece of eye candy she was with." Hearing this, Callie's eyes bulged and Arizona grabbed her arm pulling her forward to introduce her. "Peggy, Dayna, this is Callie, my girlfriend and Sofia's other mother." Peggy was the first to hold out her hand and squeezed just a little too tightly for Callie's comfort as the blonde nearly swooned, "Hi, pleasure to meet you, I'm Peggy." Callie tried to pull her hand back only to have it gripped tighter. Arizona stepped in and bumped the other blonde out of the way, "Okay, enough of that!" Dayna laughed and held out her hand to Callie as she introduced herself and explained, "You'll have to forgive my wife, she has a type and well, you're it." Callie chuckled as she watched the blonde wrap her arm around her wife's waist and tease, "I believe it was you who pointed her out. Sorry Arizona, but we really didn't notice you at first." Arizona, used to the two women's antics, watched on in amusement as her girlfriend finally caught the point. Just to emphasize she asked, "So you two weren't really even looking at me? You were checking out my hot girlfriend?" At this, all three of the other women blushed. Seeing they were finished with their meal; Arizona invited the two women to join them so they could catch up.
Sitting down at the high-top table she was sharing with Callie, Arizona asked, "How's Rose? Where is she?" Dayna looked to Callie and explained, "Rose is our daughter, Arizona delivered her in a dark hallway when the hospital was shut down with a computer virus." Callie beamed with pride as she looked over at her girlfriend who was now sporting a blush of her own. Peggy added, "Arizona was also the one who discovered Dayna was misdiagnosed with breast cancer and basically saved her from being poisoned by unnecessary chemo." Realizing this story sounded familiar, Callie's eyes darted between the three women as it hit her and she blurted out, "Wait! You two are the one's who got the whole hospital high?" Dayna hid her head in her hands and groaned as Peggy nodded furiously and proudly declared, "Yep, that'd be us." Callie burst into laughter then and said, "Damn I wish I could have seen that. I'd give anything to see Arizona stoned." Peggy laughed and said, "I believe we might still have some…" Her mouth was clamped shut by her wife's hand as Dayna scolded, "I swear you have no filter!" Looking to Arizona, Dayna finally responded, "Rose is with my sister who we are visiting for the week. What are you doing here?" Arizona took Callie's hand and explained the short version of how she and Sofia moved here to be with Callie and told them about the Robbins-Herman Center. After a few more minutes, the two women excused themselves and left the couple to finish their meal so they could return to the tour. Watching them walk away, Callie breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Those two are quite…" Arizona laughed as she finished, "Chaotic, yeah they always livened things up. Can't say I miss any of that though." Callie smiled at her girlfriend and replied, "Yeah, everything I missed is here now." Arizona linked their fingers together and smiled as she answered, "Me too."

"When I was younger, I always wanted to grow up in a neighborhood like this. I would always hope and dream that my dad would come home from his most recent tour and declare he was done and we would live a normal life in a quiet neighborhood. We wouldn't wake up to the sound of a hundred feet hitting the pavement at the same time or gunfire going off periodically throughout the day, wouldn't have to pack up every other year and move to a different place full of strangers, being stared at because we were the new kids. But he never did, the job, the country, the sacrifice was always more important." Arizona offered wistfully as they strolled arm in arm through the row of brownstones and watched as several kids gathered in the street to play some game that seemingly had no objective other than kicking a ball around and screaming. Callie enjoyed listening to Arizona talk about her childhood so freely, she rarely talked about it before other than the random comment about being a military brat. Hearing the dreamy tone with which she spoke about wanting a normal life both broke her heart and made it swell with love as it reminded Callie of part of the reason they were together now which was Arizona's desire to have their daughter grow up in a more stable environment than she did. Pulling to a stop, Callie turned them so they were facing each other and wrapped her arms around the smaller woman's waist as she said, "Thank you for making that sacrifice for our daughter, for giving up your job, your home, everything you worked so hard for so she could have what we didn't" She leaned in and captured full pink lips in what was meant to be a quick chaste kiss but turned out to be a deep pouring of emotions only to be broken by the childhood taunts of "Ewww, gross, get a room!" Laughing, both women pulled apart and continued their stroll through the old neighborhood trailing behind the rest of the group.
Furrowing her brows, Arizona asked, "You didn't have this either?" Callie shook her head and responded, "We spent our free time in finishing schools, etiquette lessons, piano lessons, riding lessons, private tutoring, and my personal favorite, country club gatherings where we all got paraded around like show ponies as our parents bragged about our many accomplishments." Callie snorted as she said, "I remember how I would overhear Mami talking about how we had a dinner at the club or some fund raiser and I would deliberately skin my knee or get my dress dirty or slump in my seat, anything I could do to tarnish her picture perfect version of her life." She closed her eyes as she realized it was no different in her adult life, her sexuality, marriage to a woman, and illegitimate child being the blemishes on her mother's view of her now. Sighing heavily she looked down to see blue eyes watching her intently. Seeing the pain in brown eyes Arizona asked unnecessarily, "She still hasn't come around?" Callie shook her head no and scoffed, "Can you imagine if she could see me now? Her perfect princess daughter in cargo shorts and cropped hair not acknowledging her femininity?" Arizona ran her fingers through said cropped hair and said, "Yeah, you're such a disappointment, you own two hospitals, invented artificial cartilage and robotic limbs, you help veterans and your name is known in medical communities all over the world." Callie tugged at one of the cute blonde braids and smirked as she said, "Yeah, but that won't get me into heaven." Arizona leaned up and pecked her lips as she said, "Well I happen to believe it put you on the short list." Callie smiled at that and said, "Yeah, well you save babies who aren't even born yet, so I believe that puts you right there with me." Arizona laughed and said, "Exactly, what the hell does Lucia Torres know? She's the one who's missing out Calliope. You are an amazing person and you are exactly who God meant you to be." Arizona still didn't believe in God, at least, she didn't think she did, but she believed that Callie believed and that was enough for her. Callie smiled down into twinkling blue eyes as she said, "We're amazing. Thank you Arizona." The blonde nodded, wrapped her arm around the taller woman's waist and continued walking down the street. She wished like hell Lucia could see what she's been missing.
Sitting at the counter of the old fashioned soda fountain/pharmacy, both women oohed and aahed at the historical medical equipment that was showcased. Callie looked at the wooden-handled saw that reminded her of an ordinary handsaw any carpenter would use and observed, "Isn't it weird that barely a hundred years ago neither of our specialties even existed? If we were alive back then, you'd be what? A midwife and I'd be…" She shivered at the thought, made a face, and said, "A general surgeon." Arizona laughed at that, "Oh, you'd still be a surgeon but I'd be a lowly midwife?" Callie corrected, "A general surgeon and midwives were important and held far more significance in the medical community than they do now." Arizona scowled as she said, "Callie, I'm a general surgeon." Callie corrected, "No you are a pediatric surgeon, it is not general surgery in miniature, these are tiny humans, they believe in magic, they play pretend, there is fairy dust in their IV bags, they hope, and they cross their fingers, and they make wishes, and that makes them more resilient than adults. They recover faster, survive worse, they believe. In PEDS you have miracles and magic. In PEDS anything is possible. That makes you way better than a general surgeon, that makes you a miracle worker." Arizona's breath hitched and tears sprung to her eyes as she recalled saying those exact words ten years ago to a group of residents. She shook her head in disbelief as she asked, "You remembered all that?" Callie took her girlfriend's hand and said, "First of all, this shouldn't surprise you, I've been feeding your speeches back to you all week." Arizona interrupted, "Yeah, but those were about us, about how we…" Callie held up her hand and said, "Secondly, I could never forget what we were doing, what you were saying the exact moment I fell hopelessly and irrevocably in love with you. Before that, I knew I loved you, I just…your passion, your confidence, your…belief in all things good and magical, that's when I knew, that's when I saw into your soul and knew you were made for me too." Arizona had no words, nothing to describe how she was feeling at that moment so she simply leaned forward and connected their lips hoping to pour everything she felt into the kiss.
Pulling back, slightly dazed, Callie whispered, "How about we go home and you continue to tell me how you feel about that?" Arizona nodded and stood up as she gathered their multiple bags from their excursion. If they ever ate all this food it would be a miracle. Exiting the store, Callie pulled out her cellphone and took yet another selfie of the two of them just under the sign on the window. Arizona held her hand out and asked to look at the pictures her girlfriend took. She scrolled through the phone as they walked down the street and laughed as she held up the phone and said, "I thought you were interested in the culture and history. Every one of these pictures is of us or of me, oh and here's a nice one of just my ass, seriously Callie?" The brunette smiled and collected her phone as she replied, "I got some buildings in the background. And your ass? Way better than some crusty old brownstone. Maybe I'll finally change my wallpaper from 8 year old you to just this picture of your ass. Makes me look less creepy." Arizona shook her head and laughed as she said, "Ummm, I'm not sure it does." then she grabbed Callie's hand as they continued to make their way to their car. She jerked backward as Callie stopped outside a store window and glanced up to see what her girlfriend was looking at. Though the blush she could feel creeping up her face could be mistaken for embarrassment, it was accompanied by a warmth that ran through her body followed by a jolt of electricity and the beginnings of a throbbing in her clit. Looking through the window at the erotic display then into her girlfriend's darkening eyes, Arizona was feeling anything but embarrassed. As Callie raised her eyebrow in that sexy way she had and tossed her a smoldering look, Arizona nodded slightly and the two women nonchalantly walked through the door of the adult entertainment shop.
As they walked around the store taking in their surroundings, Callie picked up a book and held it up to Arizona as she asked, "Wanna get this?" The blonde read the title and raised her brow as she asked, "Do you honestly think we need The Lesbian Kama Sutra, Callie?" Thinking about it for a minute Callie shrugged and opened the book, her eyes bulging and jaw dropping got the blonde's attention and she quickly moved to her side to see what was so fascinating. Both women stood staring at the picture in the book with incredulous looks on their faces. Turning the page, Callie gulped and both women furrowed their brows and tilted their heads trying to make sense of what they were seeing. Finally Arizona asked, "Is number 48 even possible?" Callie shook her head and said, "I'm wondering if it's legal." Arizona pointed to the opposite page and said, "We could do that one, it would be way easier if I took my leg off." Callie looked at her incredulously and asked, "Did you really just say that?" Arizona shrugged and said, "I mean, gotta find the silver lining right?" Callie shook her head and closed the book reaching out to return it to the shelf as Arizona caught her hand and said, "Maybe you should hold on to that." Callie smiled and asked, "Yeah?" Arizona squinted her eyes and nodded, "Yeah." Looking at a few more books and laughing at the absurd titles, the two women finally turned to the section of the store they were more interested in.
Looking at the variety of dildos, strap-ons, and vibrators Callie said, "They sure have gotten creative since the last time I was in one of these shops." Arizona nodded and replied, "I had no idea how much the sex toy industry could change in 5 years." Callie whipped her head around at that statement and asked, "You haven't…ah…" Waving her hand toward the wall she finished, "Ummm used…" Arizona's face scrunched up and she looked at her girlfriend like she had just asked the most ridiculous question she'd ever heard, as she responded, "Ahhhh that would be a no. It took nearly a year for you to talk me into it, I certainly wouldn't…" She trailed off as she realized her girlfriend probably had used toys with other people, at least with Penny anyway and couldn't hide the sullenness that suddenly came over her. Seeing the near devastation cross the pale features, Callie instantly moved to her girlfriend's side and lifted her chin with one finger as she bent down to meet her eyes and said, "Me neither honey. It takes a certain amount of trust and…I just…only you, ever, I promise." Seeing the sincerity in dark chocolate eyes, Arizona smiled at that and noticed Callie smiling back at her with a big goofy grin as she said, "Is it sad we are both grinning like a fool over each other's vanilla sex lives?" Callie chuckled and looked at the wall again as she said, "Let's look at it as being happy about our very…uh…not vanilla sex life." Arizona nodded and hummed in agreement as she too took in the overwhelming display. Finally she asked, "Do you want to get what we had before or do you want to try something new?" Callie thought for a moment then asked, "What do you want?" Arizona bit her bottom lip and blushed as she said, "Both?" Callie smiled then and answered, "Then that's what we will do. Ooooh look at that one." Arizona looked up and felt a shiver run down her spine as she offered, "We could do number 48 with that one." Callie slowly turned her head and looked over at her girlfriend who looked entirely serious about her suggestion and quirked her eyebrow at the idea. Without thinking, she reached up and grabbed one and put it in her basket making the blonde smile.
Walking up the last aisle, Arizona ran into Callie's back as she stopped to look at something on the shelf in front of her. Peeking over her girlfriend's shoulder, Arizona bit the side of her cheek and tried to figure out how to approach the subject. Finally she just asked, "Is that something you are interested in?" Callie turned her head to gauge her girlfriend's reaction and shrugged as she said, "I ah…I've not really thought about it, I've read things, articles, blogs, just in passing though, I have never researched it." It was the truth, it didn't not appeal to her and the articles and blogs she'd come across talked about how it gave people a certain amount of confidence, made them feel sexier. Curious, Arizona picked up the display, weighed it in her hand, turned it over to examine all sides. She'd never seen one, not in person, she'd read about them as well and had patients, both trans and non-binary who disclosed their use of a soft pack to her as their physician. Some were more open than others about why they used them. She could see her girlfriend was curious, could even understand her interest in exploring the possibility of using it. Rather than give her opinion either way, she waited to see what Callie would choose to do. Callie watched as Arizona handled the object, she wondered if it was natural that she was turned on by the sight of it, the idea of her girlfriend doing that while she was wearing it, worried that it wasn't something that would appeal to the blonde, that it may be something that would be revolting to her. She didn't look revolted by it, only curious. As Arizona continued to handle it, Callie's clit began to throb and she could feel the moisture pool between her legs. Trying to calm herself, she inhaled deeply through her nose and closed her eyes. Arizona looked up at Callie and could immediately tell she was turned on immensely. Looking down at her hand, she realized this was the reason. She placed the item on the shelf and looked back at her girlfriend and could also see the battle that was being waged in her mind. She suddenly realized Callie wasn't making a move because she was worried about her reaction. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she smirked as she thought about the bad pun, she looked over all the options and finding the right color, she lifted the box off the shelf and handed it to her girlfriend. At Callie's shocked look she smiled and said, "This isn't about me Callie, this is about you, what you need and what you want so you can be YOUR authentic self. If you try it and don't like it, then don't use it. We've wasted money on lesser things. If you do like it, then you use it as much as you feel necessary."
Callie looked into understanding blue eyes and it finally clicked with her, she finally realized why Arizona was being so great about all this and the blonde's next words only confirmed it as she said, "I know what it's like Callie. They are two completely different circumstances, but the concept, the feeling is the same. I know what it's like to look in the mirror and not recognize the person staring back at you. I know what it's like when you look in the mirror and finally…finally feel like the person you are inside, the person you have become. I also know how important it is to have the person you love stand beside you as you are figuring it out. I'm not going anywhere, I promise. I'm here and that's how this thing works." Callie swallowed the lump in her throat at hearing her own words repeated back to her as she leaned down and kissed her girlfriend with all the love and passion she felt inside. Finally breaking the kiss, she pulled back and looked around them then burst into laughter. Looking into confused blue eyes she explained, "That had to be the heaviest conversation to ever take place in a sex toy shop among rows and rows of dicks." Finally understanding, she too burst into fits of laughter as well. It was true, she could imagine all the different conversations that took place within these walls and doubted any of them ever got so serious.
Both women were slightly more serious after checking out. Walking toward the door Callie whispered, "I feel like a pervert! Did you see how they were looking at us?" Arizona chuckled as she looked at the black bags in both of their hands interspersed among their earlier purchases and said, "Relax honey, it's a sex toy shop. They weren't looking at us any kind of way. They don't expect people to just come in for the candy they have at the counter." Callie snorted then replied, "Yet you bought a vagina sucker and a box of chocolate covered cherries decorated to look like breasts." Reaching the door Arizona turned around and walked backward as she asked, "Awww Calliope, you don't want to taste my chocolate covered boobies?" Callie laughed and wiggled her eyebrows as she said, "I'd rather lick your vagina su…" she stopped abruptly as she watched Arizona back up into a passerby and threw out her hands to catch her before she fell to the ground. In doing so, one of the bags caught on the door and the contents went flying onto the sidewalk. Before she could ask if her girlfriend was okay, the other woman jumped in to apologize, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention and I…" The voice trailed off as she looked up and noticed the two women staring at her in shock. Hearing a familiar voice, Arizona and Callie both snapped their heads in the direction of the woman they collided with and stood frozen staring wide-eyed at the young red-head as she rambled out her apology. Finally gaining her wits about her, Arizona slowly looked at Callie to see her reaction. She wasn't sure what she expected to see, regret, remorse, sadness, longing, but she saw nothing but concern. Concern for her and her reaction to the woman standing next to them. Taking a deep breath, Arizona finally looked back at the younger woman and said, "No Penny, this wasn't your fault. I was walking backward and couldn't see where I was going, I lost my balance." As if remembering why the other woman would lose her balance, Penny's gaze dropped to the ground to look at her prosthetic leg and her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she saw the packages that littered the ground around them.
Finally looking back at her ex-girlfriend, Callie saw her shocked expression and followed her gaze to the ground as she noticed for the first time one of their bags had broken. Lying at their feet was a box of chocolate covered boobies, a broken vagina sucker, a remote vibrator and a double ended dildo lying next to the book that inspired the purchase opened to a page with a rather graphic picture showing a complicated sexual position. Of all the damn bags to break, it had to be that one. Hell, at this point she would've sacrificed the cheese. She then looked at her girlfriend who was also staring at their recent purchases scattered around them. Though she couldn't see her facial expression, she knew she had to be mortified. Arizona was free and open when it came to sex and trying new things, but she was also very private about her sex life so she could only imagine what was running through the blonde's mind. Callie couldn't help but think if this had happened to anyone else, she'd be laughing her ass off right now. Seriously, walking out of a sex shop with your ex-wife/current girlfriend and running smack into your ex-girlfriend who you dumped because you were still in love with that person is like a nightmare waiting to happen. You can't make this shit up. Granted, it was a year and a half later and they had only seen each other one other time, but to make it worse, she wasn't leaving, just standing, and staring, does it get anymore awkward? As soon as the question popped into her mind, she wanted to suck it back in as she heard the door open and the young saleswoman asked, "Is everyone okay? I brought you another bag. Oh dear, you broke your vagina, let me get you another one." Callie stood holding the empty bag and stared at the retreating woman's back and asked no one in particular, "What?" Arizona looked at her then back down at the ground and smirked as she answered, "Apparently the biggest tragedy here is my vagina is broken." Hearing the absurdity of it, both women broke into a fit of giggles as they bent down to pick up their purchases, well aware of the green eyes that were still trained on them.
Looking at one another as they retrieved their purchases, the two women held a silent conversation and Arizona stood up looking directly at Penny and said, "I apologize for bumping into you. I should have…" Penny finally snapped out of whatever trance she was in and shook her head as she looked between the two women and said, "No, it was my fault really. I was texting and not paying attention to where I was going." Looking directly at Callie, Penny said, "You look happy, I'm happy for you. Really. Both of you." With that, she gave a little wave to both women and walked away leaving them alone on the sidewalk once again. Breathing out a sigh of relief, Callie stepped up to Arizona, cupped her cheek with her hand and asked, "Are you okay?" Furrowing her brow, Arizona asked, "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Callie shook her head and said, "I'm fine. I was more worried about you, how it made you feel." Arizona wrapped her arms around Callie's neck and said, "I'm fine Calliope. A little embarrassed about having our sex-life advertised to your ex-girlfriend, but at the same time, feeling like a horrible person because I don't really feel bad about that." Callie chuckled and brushed their lips together as she murmured, "How about I take you home and take a look at your broken vagina?" Arizona threw her head back and laughed. Turning to pick up their bags she asked, "Are you going to kiss it and make it all better Dr. Torres?" Callie took some of the bags out of her hands and answered, "Oh, absolutely. In fact, I think I have to perform a thorough examination just to make sure it is functioning properly." Arizona trembled at just the thought of how Callie planned to examine her and purred out, "Oh, by all means, do what you need to do." Callie stole another kiss and the two started walking toward the parking lot toward Callie's Range Rover.
Finally reaching the parking lot, Callie loaded all of their bags into the cargo area and closed the door. She smiled as she turned to see Arizona was standing beside her waiting for her to finish loading their bags. She knew the blonde was waiting for her to open her door for her and couldn't be more thrilled about that. Taking her hand, Callie led her to the passenger side and stopped just before they reached the door. Leaning up against the back door, Callie pulled her girlfriend into her and wrapped her arms around her waist as she said, "I had an amazing time today. Thank you for sharing this with me." Arizona wrapped her arms around Callie's neck and brought her hand up to scratch the stubble on the back of her head as she smiled up at her girlfriend and said, "Thank you for planning it. I loved spending the day with you." Both women leaned in and brushed their lips together, pulled apart, brushed them together again then pulled apart once more and stared into each other's eyes seeing all the love and adoration the other woman held shining back at them. Stealing one more kiss, Callie reached her hand out and opened the car door for her girlfriend and helped her climb into the seat waiting for her to buckle her seatbelt before closing the door. Walking around the back of the car to make sure the gate was closed tightly; Callie jumped into her seat and looked at Arizona who was looking back at her and finally the two broke into another fit of laughter. Callie shook her head and said, "You know Mark was up there laughing his ass off at me." Arizona fanned her face and said, "Honey, Mark set that shit up." Causing them both to start laughing again. Finally calming down, Callie started the car and pulled out of the lot. Reaching over, she took Arizona's hand and linked their fingers together as she said, "I really am happy Arizona."
