Everybody in Clone High knows the name of Vince Frankenclone. As the school's guidance councelor, it was his job to assist the students in any way he could so they grow to be productive adults for society.
Even though he was the one that often gives advice, the conversations that he has everyday often would teach him something new. He could feel himself further developing alongside the students he walks alongside in the hallways.
He had been learning since the day he was welcomed into the world. As weird as it may sound to some people, his memory of breathing in the breath of life for the first time is one of his most pleasant ones. He also remembers his first word: Scudworth. The name of the man who brought him into the world. The closest thing he has to a father.
Scudworth had taught him to read by introducing him to a story from a very long time ago. In this story, a very smart man had discovered a way to create life using already dead organic matter and created a monster that he abandoned in a short time.
Unlike the man in the story, Scudworth is a man that is full of love. He didn't care that what he created had yellow eyes with noticeable shades of red or that its skin is much greener compared to everyone elses. What he created has great potential within itself and nobody should define his limits just because of how he came into the world.
There is nobody in this world that is anything like Vince Frankenclone and he thanks his father everyday for it. He was given so much. He wouldn't have the job and education he has if it wasn't for him.
Like the students that attend Clone High, he is also cloned from somebody: Vincent Price. But it isn't just the famous actor that he's cloned from. There are also others. Who they are, he isn't sure.
Right now, he's currently at his office enjoying a cup of coffee. He brewed it through the use of a Chemex.
Ever since he heard rumors of Assisstant Principal Lynn Butlertron engaging in inappropriate behavior with the coffee machine in the teacher's lounge, he decided not to take any chances with the brand new ones that were brought in and invest in his own.
The assistant principal was the closest thing Vince has to a brother. As they were both creations by Dr. Scudworth. One made from living and dead flesh. The other from bolts and metal.
Sitting at the other side of Vince's desk is the student everybody knows as Ivan the Terrible. This is their fourth session together and from the looks of things, this might be their last.
Setting down his coffee mug, Vince starts off the conversation.
"It's good to see you again, Mr. Ivan… So how are you feeling?"
Despite having asked that question, he could see in Ivan's eyes that he's feeling better than he was the last time they spoke.
"To tell you the truth, Frankenclone… I'm feeling pretty good." Ivan confirmed Vince's theory. "I've thought a lot about what you said to me last week… My hatred… really IS what has been controlling me for all these years.
And again, it's like what you said already… I am not my hatred.
I feel like for the first time in a very long time, I'm finally in control of my own life again."
Vince smiles as he picks up his coffee mug again. This really is one of the best parts of his job. Aside from the opportunity to look professional with his suit and tie, it's also seeing students change for the better and grow into more respectable versions of themselves.
There's an excitement that's just hard for him to describe. It's like for every student that he helps, the world becomes a slightly better place.
He speaks to Ivan. "Well, I'm very glad to hear that, Mr. Ivan. Now going forward, I believe that being the man you aspire to be-"
He didn't get the chance to finish his statement, as the door to his office swung open faster than he could process it.
There isn't very much anybody could do to make him angry, but unfortunately, somebody entering his office while he's having a discussion with a student is more than enough to set him off. A closed door of a counselor's office should be seen as the universal sign of 'do not disturb.' All the students are old enough to understand that they need to respect others' privacy at this point.
He stood up from his chair, unable to control his anger. "HEY! THAT DOOR WAS-"
He stopped yelling as soon as he realized who he was yelling at. It was Principal Scudworth, and he didn't look too happy. "I'm sorry for coming in unannounced Vincent, but there is an urgent matter that we must discuss at once!"
"Yes father!" Vince sat down before correcting himself. "I mean Principal Scudworth!"
Ivan looks at the two adults with a confused expression. "Uh… Father?"
Scudworth shoots him an angry look. "This doesn't concern you, boy!"
He then proceeds to grab him by the shirt collar and pushes him out of Vince's office and onto the floor. Not caring about if he's hurt as he shut the door behind him.
Not wanting to say anything that could potentially make his father even more mad, Vince took another sip of his coffee before clearing his throat.
"So… what's this urgent thing you want to discuss… Principal Scudworth?"
Scudworth took a seat as he began to speak.
"Look, I know you're busy, and that you have many things you'd rather be doing than sitting behind that desk of yours, but your help is going to be needed more than ever. In the coming days, you may expect a packed schedule everyday for… the foreseeable future."
Vince scratches his chin. "This is about that far right extremist group that was marching through Main Street yesterday, right?"
"You're a quick one." Scudworth nods. "I will assure you though, the people that I've been having contact with are looking into every possible option on how we can deal with this situation. We just need to be patient. I've been told that not only are they looking at threats, but also opportunities… whatever they may be."
"So you want me to be prepared to help out more students until everything's resolved? I promise you that I'll do everything I can." Said Vince.
"I don't expect anything less from you. You wouldn't be employed here otherwise." Before leaving, Scudworth takes a moment to look around Vince's office.
"I gotta say, everything here looks so tidy. I'd think Mr. B would have been here if he wasn't on vacation." He gives Vince a smile. "Keep up the good work."
As soon as Scudworth exited the office, Vince breathed out a sigh of relief. He's going to need every bit of willpower in his possession if he's going to have any hope to overcome the challenges ahead.
It's times like these that heroes are made, after all.
Getting up from his seat, he goes on to stare at a framed diploma on the wall. His diploma.
Clone State University
On the recommendation of the state has conferred on
Vincent Boris Frankenclone
Who has completed the prescribed course of study and,
Has passed the required examination the degree of,
Bachelor in Psychology.
Making sure his frame is clear of dust, he spoke to himself.
"As long as you're happy, father. That's all that matters."
He still has a bit of time left until he gets really busy. With what he has left, he decides that it's best for him to get some reading done.
Vincent Boris Frankenclone is a revamp of a Clone High oc originally made in 2003 for a fanfiction by Mad Dr. Matt: Matt Frankenclone. I spoke to him before and he gave me his blessing. My first attempt at Vince Frankenclone involved the multiverse and Scudworth building a machine that sent him to my story's universe. I scraped the entire story in 2022 because I thought I could do much better. This time, the multiverse is left out of it. Making the story more grounded.
I hope you're doing well, Mad Dr. Matt. If you ever actually read this.
