Chapter 4
A Summer of 1992 - Daphne
Summertime was Daphne's favorite season.
The sun shone bright during these days, allowing her to bask in its warmth.
Summer was also the perfect time to spend outdoors with her beloved little sister.
Just like she was doing at the moment.
"You're it!"
Astoria's little hand gave her a little tap, before she started giggling madly and taking off across their yard.
"Tori! You little cheater!" Daphne grinned. "You're supposed to give me a head start!"
Following the trail of dirt footsteps on the ground, Daphne sprinted off to find her sister.
The Greengrass lands were filled with lush forest and wildlife. A family specializing in the arts of herbology meant having their home more isolated from the wizarding world.
After a few minutes of running, Daphne arrived in a meadow to find her sister doing her best to hide behind a rock.
"Oh, come now little sister. Did you really think it would be the best idea to hide here?" Daphne teased.
Astoria groaned when she noticed Daphne already standing there. Before she could even start running again, Daphne had already stepped towards her.
"You're it!" The older sister tapped the little girl on her shoulder.
"Argh! Daphs!" Astoria groaned, chasing after Daphne who had already taken off.
The game continued well over the next few hours.
By the time the sisters were finished and heading back to their manor, the sun had already begun to set.
"You didn't even give me much of a chance, Daphs!"
"I don't remember being the one who cheated at the start."
"I didn't cheat! You were just too slow!"
"Uh huh. Sure, Tori."
"You're doing that thing again!"
"Mhm."
"Arghhh!"
Daphne did her best to hide her smirk as she continued on her way back home occasionally bickering with Astoria.
As the manor was coming into view, she noticed a tall grayish-blonde haired man in noble robes exiting the house. A sour expression marred his aristocratic features as he stomped past them.
Daphne immediately put a hand behind Astoria's head and forced her into a slight bow while doing the same.
"Grandfather."
Their grandfather stopped in front of them. Taking a second to look them over, he scoffed.
"Half-bloods." He muttered. "My son leaves a stain on our family name."
With those words, he continued on his way without a second glance.
Daphne took her hands off Astoria, allowing the girl to look up. A few tears had fallen from the little girl's eyes, causing Daphne's heart to break.
"Why does…why does grandfather always act like that when he sees us?" Astoria asked in a quiet voice. "Is it because we're…not wanted?"
Daphne quickly pulled her sister into a tight hug and rubbed her back reassuringly.
"Tori, don't ever think that." Daphne whispered into her ear fiercely, "Don't you ever think that you're not wanted. Mom and dad love us very much. And I love you very much."
Astoria sniffed back tears but ultimately nodded.
"Come on, let's get inside." Daphne said, ushering her little sister into their home.
Entering their modest home, Daphne was met with the aromatic smell of stew. She led her little sister into the kitchen where they found their mother in a white apron cooking.
"Dinner will be ready soon." their mother said. "Could you help me peel the potatoes, Daphne? And Astoria honey? Wash the potatoes for me?"
Daphne quickly went to her side and got to work on the potatoes, using a peeler with ease. She watched as Astoria pulled out a stool on her right and began washing the potatoes in earnest, scrubbing them extra hard with a brush while giggling.
The scene caused Daphne to raise an eyebrow. "Tori, I don't think you're supposed to use a brush."
"Hehehe. What do you mean Daphs?" Astoria questioned innocently. "I'm just giving the little potatoes a good bath."
Rolling her eyes at Astoria's antics, she elected to just let the girl do whatever, as long as the potatoes were washed. "Whatever you say, little sister."
Their mother chuckled as she continued stirring the pot of stew.
To say Diane Greengrass looked like her daughters would be a lie. The most notable being the famous Greengrass blonde hair not showing on Diane, as her's took on a more brunette color.
Daphne would have to admit that neither she nor Astoria looked much like her mother. Not the round cheeks. Not the easy-going face. And not even the short nose.
But she did have one noticeable common trait with her mother. Sapphire blue eyes, sparkling like an ocean wave.
"I don't understand why we don't get a house elf." Daphne commented as she peeled. "And mama, why don't you just use magic to make it easier?"
Daphne caught a smile from the corner of her mother's lips as she was in the middle of tasting.
"That would take all the fun out of cooking, honey." her mother explained. "Besides. I enjoy cooking enough, and I don't think we really need extra help when I have my two sweet daughters to help out when I need it."
"But mamaaaaa…" Daphne whined, gesturing at the unpeeled potatoes. "You're a witch. Just one spell and it would be so much faster."
"I was a muggle before I found out I was a witch, Daphne. Not everything has to be done by magic. Again, some things like this are more enjoyable when you do it yourself."
Her mother constantly made it clear about using magic for everyday tasks with Daphne. While she could somewhat understand it, Daphne still didn't really like doing menial tasks without the help of magic.
Unfortunately, she was underaged - thus could not use magic yet.
"It's actually how your father and I became acquainted. Lord, the bickering we've had over using magic versus muggle techniques. We discussed our own techniques of caring for plants, and before you knew it, that's what brought us together." Daphne's mother continued as she chuckled, reminiscing about how she met their father.
Speaking of the man, entering the kitchen was one Cyrus Greengrass.
Cyrus Greengrass looked much like their grandfather. Aristocratic high cheekbones. Blonde flowing hair. And a thin nose. Many of the characteristics that Daphne and Astoria too shared.
However, their grandfather permanently held a stern expression whilst their father was anything but that.
"Girls!" Cyrus held his arms out as Astoria was the first one to jump onto them, followed by Daphne. "Did the two of you have a good day today?"
Astoria nodded enthusiastically. "We did!" she exclaimed. "Daphs was so fast papa, I only tagged her twice!"
Their father chuckled as he listened to Astoria regaling him of the tales of their game of hide and seek tag today.
"-but I did finally get Daphs when she wasn't looking!" Astoria finished proudly.
Daphne didn't mention that out of pity, she finally allowed Astoria to tag her after spending most of the day chasing after her to return the tag. Instead, Daphne rolled her eyes mockingly.
"Well, I'm glad the two of you had a good day today." Cyrus said with a grin. Daphne felt him releasing her and Astoria from his hold, as he got up to give their mother a peck on the cheek.
Daphne could've also sworn she saw him whispering something in their mother's ear, but it must've been her imagination.
"Girls! Could you go out back and grab some tomatoes? They should be freshly grown. We're a bit short." Their mother asked.
"Okay, mama. How many do you need?" Daphne asked.
"Oh, just grab a full basket. I left one outside."
As the girl was about to head out back, her mother called after her one more time. "And Daphne?"
"Yes mama?"
"Could you check on the mandrakes for me? I think it's almost time for them to be harvested."
Daphne nodded and pulled Astoria with her out back. While they didn't need a very large house, the Greengrass family instead required vast land.
Their backyard stretched. A bit over a full acre. It was filled with all kinds of plants for their apothecary business, one of the many businesses the entire Greengrass family dabbled in.
Daphne remembered some of the more political lessons she'd had with her father. House Greengrass was involved in many pureblood business practices, many of them could be outright appalling with the way they mistreated non purebloods.
Apothecary was the one thing her father believed could be the only thing he would pass on to his daughters. It was something Daphne and her sister Astoria grew up learning.
Finding the basket left right outside their home, Daphne took her sister with her to a smaller section of their land - a vegetable garden.
Lettuce, radishes, beetroots, and of course - tomatoes.
Just like their other plants for the apothecary business, it was enhanced with magic to grow at a much faster rate.
It was one of the things in their family that the no magic rule didn't apply. The fact that many of the plants were magical, it also was also tied directly to their livelihood which took precedent.
"Well. Get picking, Tori." Daphne said, beginning her own pickings.
"So much…" Astoria muttered. "Daphs, when you learn magic, can you just do all of it for me?"
Daphne chuckled as she plopped a full batch into the basket. "Sure, little sister. But when you learn magic, you'll have to do it for me."
"But you're supposed to take care of me, Daphs." Astoria did a cute pose. "I'm your cute little sister who you just can't resist doing everything for."
Daphne snorted. "Cute would be a lie."
"Hey!" Astoria protested.
Daphne giggled as Astoria did her best to glare at her. However, the little girl could barely hold it in as she joined her older sister in laughter.
After managing to get their basket full of tomatoes, Daphne headed on towards one of their other gardening sections - the greenhouse.
The medium dome of glass showed an array of plants. Mandrakes to be exact.
"Here." Daphne tossed a pair of mufflers to her sister while pulling one off a hook just outside the greenhouse for herself. "Make sure they're firmly on, Tori."
Stepping inside, the mandrakes were of course quiet. So long as they were potted, they would remain that way.
Of course, that didn't mean Daphne and her sister shouldn't be wearing something to protect their ears. The part that was important in mandrakes were their roots after all.
And so, after pulling on a pair of gloves, Daphne plucked one right from its pot, eliciting a muffled screech in the air.
"Okay. Tori! You see how I'm firmly holding it?! Do you see how I'm going to cut it?" Daphne was shouting so Astoria could hear.
Daphne had a pair of shears in her hand, angled to cut the roots. She made sure that Astoria had her eyes fully trained on the plant so she would learn how to do it.
Seeing a nod from the little girl, Daphne proceeded to cut. Pulling out a bag from underneath the table, she threw the roots in and handed it to Astoria to hold onto.
"Make sure they don't fall out of the bag. Come on. We still have a few more to go through. And keep an eye on me, Tori. You'll start actually practicing next week."
After getting all the mandrake roots cut, the two sisters started to head back to bring in the roots and tomatoes.
As Daphne opened the door into their home, she heard hushed voices talking.
"-again he's demanding it."
It was the voice of their father.
Daphne froze. Astoria looked at her curiously but a quick hand over the little girl's mouth silenced any questions that would alert their presence.
"Still? You've refused so many times already."
This time it was their mother.
"I don't think he's going to take no for an answer this time."
Daphne heard the clatter of a dish, as if it was angrily placed on a table.
"So he just expects you to betray your wife? Your children? He wants you to leave us to him?"
"Diane…you know that's not going to happen."
"Then what's going to happen?" Her mother's voice, becoming harsh.
"My father…Merlin you know, Diane. You know how much my family worships the very grounds the Dark Lord walks on. Even after his death, they still seek to carry out his will."
"We can't leave Cyrus. This is our home! Our girls! They've grown up here!"
"Then what would you have us do? Wait for the inevitable for them to do something drastic?"
Daphne's parents were starting to get louder as their voices raised.
"Wards! Barriers! Charms! Anything! Hell, contact the aurors! We can't just uproot everything and leave!"
"Damn it Diane! You don't understand! You were raised a muggle! You don't understand how ingrained they are in our system!"
"So we have to leave? Abandon everything? Is that it, Cyrus?"
"Yes."
Silence.
Daphne cautiously peeked her head inside, doing her best to make sure she was small enough not to be seen.
Her mother had her head on the table with a defeated look. Their father stood by the window, staring out with a tired look in his eyes.
It was their mother who would be the first to break the silence with her hoarse voice.
"When do we leave?"
Their father closed his eyes and let out a long sigh, one that he was clearly holding inside for quite a while.
"Tonight. Before they do anything. Packing right now would be good, Diane."
"After dinner."
"But Diane-"
"The food is almost done. And I will have the girls eased in as much as possible before we do this."
"…okay. I doubt my father will do anything tonight, especially right after leaving. He'd have to think it over. The wards will hold anyway."
Their mother let out a sigh and rubbed her eyes. "Oh lord. Cyrus, how do we explain everything to the girls?" She groaned.
The man stiffened up at the question before he gave an answer. Albeit hesitantly. "A vacation," he muttered. "We'll just say we're all taking vacation."
"And when the 'vacation' is over?"
"We'll cross the bridge when we get there."
Daphne let out a gasp after everything she heard. It was clear that something bad had happened. Something so bad that their family had to move.
But her parents seemed to do very well in hiding it from her. This was the first time Daphne even heard of anything like this, yet it seemed to have gone on for a long time.
Astoria then spoke up, keeping her voice to a quiet whisper. "Daphs? What does mama and papa mean?"
Daphne realized that her hand had left her little sister's mouth. She turned to see a look of fear on Astoria's face.
For the first time in her life, Daphne didn't have an answer for her little sister.
"I…I don't know." Daphne stammered. "I don't know, Tori."
Daphne peeks back inside to see her parents resume their normal positions. Her mother was back at the stove with her father helping set up the plates.
"Come on, Tori." Daphne muttered, tugging at her little sister. "And don't let them know that we heard anything."
The little girl nodded and timidly allowed her sister to guide her in.
"We got the tomatoes." Daphne announced their presence, placing the tomatoes and roots on their dining table.
"Ah thank you girls. Could you get the tomatoes washed and cut in half? I'll deal with the roots later." Their mother flashed them a smile, but Daphne could tell it was forced.
A couple minutes ago, Daphne was sure she wouldn't even be able to tell had she not overheard everything being said.
Forcing her own smile, she went next to her mother and got work on the tomatoes.
"Is something wrong, Tori?" Their mother asked worriedly.
Daphne looked over to Astoria to see that she was washing them very slowly with a dazed look in her eyes.
Cursing herself silently for not noticing Astoria's state, Daphne was quick to reassure her mother.
"Oh. Tori's earmuffs weren't fully on. Some of the mandrakes were very loud." Daphne lied.
Apparently, that was the wrong lie to tell, as their mother quickly rushed over to start fussing over the little girl.
"Tori! Honey! Are you okay? Do your ears hurt? Can you hear ringing? Can you hear me, baby?"
"Mama-"
Before Astoria could even finish her sentence, their mother had already begun calling out.
"Cyrus! Get the mediwizard kit!"
Astoria quickly got herself out of her stupor and jerked away.
"Mama I'm fine." Astoria protested. "It was nothing, mama."
Their distressed mother cupped her hand on Astoria's cheek, staring her in the eyes to search for any signs of injury.
"You can hear…right?"
"Yes, mama!" Astoria looked slightly irritated.
"Diane. I'm sure our little girl is fine." Their father interjected from the window, not having moved even at the order from his wife. "It's been a long day. Why don't you go lie down and let me help the girls finish up?"
Their mother pursed her lips together at the notion, but ultimately nodded hesitantly.
"Alright," She muttered. "Just make sure the tomatoes are added and keep the pot on a simmer. I'll be out to check in 10."
Astoria pulled her mother into a tight hug. "Be well please, mama," the little girl said quietly.
Their mother gave her a small smile. "I should be the one telling you that," she chuckled.
Standing up and patting her apron clean, the woman made her way to their living room.
But not before giving one last comment when she turned around.
"Daphne? Take good care of your sister, okay? Whatever happens, you take good care of her."
A strange feeling washed over Daphne. Staring at her mother's almost pleading face, the girl had a feeling that this request would be something that would echo in her mind for years to come.
"I promise, mama." Daphne promised softly. "I promise I'll always look after Astoria."
"Thank you…Daphne. I love you both, my girls."
Watching her mother leave, Daphne let out a deep breath that she didn't even realize she was holding in.
"Alright there, princess?"
Daphne turned to find her father already at the stove stirring.
"It's nothing." Daphne replied. "It's just…is mama okay?"
Testing the waters to see how much would be revealed. Daphne keenly watched her father's face as he did his best to act nonchalant.
"Well…" Daphne's father paused for a second.
"She's just tired, that's all. We've had some things planned." He finished.
It was at this moment where Astoria seemed to have decided to join in, already back to helping with the cooking.
"Where are we going on vacation, papa?" Astoria asked suddenly, all traces of her dazed look gone.
Their father tilted his head curiously. "How'd you know?"
Again, Daphne inwardly cursed at her sister's immaturity. She quickly had to come up with a lie on the spot once again.
"Tori's been talking about a vacation these last few days." Daphne interrupted, before the little girl could say anything else. "She's convinced we're going to have one soon, considering the last one was last year."
Their father laughed heartily at that. "Well, your sister is not wrong. We're going to-"
'WHIRRRRR'
The man froze mid-sentence. Suddenly, a look of panic crossed his face. He frantically got back to the window and stared outside before turning around to face Daphne.
"Daphne! Get your sister out back! Into the forest!"
"Papa? What's going on?"
"GO! I'll answer everything later! Now GO!"
The man took off towards their living room in a hurry. Daphne, still unsure of what was going on, looked outside the window her father was at.
Blue lights flashing outside. She could see a shimmer of a wall and instantly knew that their wards were being breached.
Yells were starting to be heard, as large bangs rang outside.
"T-Tori…we have to go. We have to go, NOW." Daphne grabbed her little sister's hand and ran towards the back.
"Daphs! W-what's going on?" Astoria frantically asked.
Daphne didn't even answer. She was barely registering the question, as she pulled Astoria out into the backyard.
The wards were flickering all around them. Daphne was about to take off into the forest with her sister in hand before she heard something.
'CRACK!'
A stray spell hit the wall behind them, taking a piece off.
Shock coursed through Daphne's body as she registered just how close she was to being hit.
Shaking herself from the shock, Daphne pulled Astoria to the nearest place they could find cover.
The greenhouse.
Slamming the door shut behind them, Daphne looked around to see if she could find anything for cover.
"Shoot! There's gotta be a place…" Daphne muttered.
The door suddenly slammed open to reveal a tall figure wearing dark robes storming in. A mask covered their face, showing only eyes and a mouth.
Instinctively, Daphne moved back with a whimpering Astoria behind her as the figure stepped towards them.
"I've got you now!" A man's voice snarled. "You brats have given me a lot of trouble!"
If Daphne didn't do something now, both she and her sister would be dead.
As fate would have it, Daphne felt her hand brushing against something familiar as she was cornered.
'The earmuffs,' she thought.
She quickly grabbed a pair and put it on herself and her sister just as the man prepared to raise his wand.
"Ava-"
Daphne reached to one of the pots next to her and yanked the mandrake out.
"-da Ked-AHHHHHHHHH!"
A muffled wail echoed outside of Daphne's ear, as she watched the man clutch his own.
The man fell to the ground, drops of blood coming from his ears as he twitched.
Daphne felt herself getting sick.
The sight of the man wailing on the ground almost sent the contents of her stomach out. But she gulped it down as she watched him.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Their assailant suddenly froze, ceasing all movement. However, his eyes were still widened in fear as they searched around.
Daphne looked up from the ground to see her father standing at the doorway, his wand in hand.
Dirt and grime covered his weary face as he worriedly sprinted towards them.
Realizing they were safe, Daphne quickly put the mandrake back into their spot.
"Papa!" Astoria exclaimed, jumping onto him."
"Tori! Oh, my baby girl! Are you okay?" He fussed over her, looking for any wounds.
After getting a nod, He then turned to Daphne and shot her a grin.
"That was some smart thinking, princess. Way to use the mandrakes." He complimented.
However, instead of basking in the praise, Daphne looked down at her feet, guilt evident on her face.
"Princess?"
"I…I hurt him, papa…" Daphne whispered. "I…he could've died papa…I could've killed him…"
"Oh princess…" Her father muttered, getting down on one knee, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Daphne. You had to do it to protect your sister. Do you hear me, Daphs? Don't blame yourself."
"I…okay…papa." Daphne said hesitantly, still unconvinced.
Her father searched her eyes but ultimately let out a sigh. "We'll talk about this later, princess. But now we have to go."
He got up and turned around to peek outside. After making sure it was clear, waved them out. "It's clear. But we're going to have to make a run for it."
"Papa? Where's mama?" Astoria suddenly asked.
The man avoided her eyes. "I…I couldn't find her."
Daphne's heart sank. He couldn't find her? What does her father mean by that? What does he mean that he can't find her?
"We have to go. NOW." Their father ushered them out.
"NO! Papa! We can't leave without mama!" Astoria cried, determined to run back into the house.
Daphne immediately grabbed the girl before she could do anything drastic. "Please Tori," Daphne begged. "We have to go."
"B..b…but mamaaaaa…." Astoria sobbed, wet tears dampening into Daphne's shirt.
"I know, Tori. I know." Daphne sniffled. She comfortingly rubbed Astoria's back, doing her best to comfort the girl. "But we have to go now. Please, Tori. Mama…she'll come find us. Once everything clears up. Right papa?"
"...right."
He still was avoiding eye contact with them. Daphne let go of Astoria as she noticed her father reaching out to pick up the little girl into his arms.
"Can you run?" he asked softly.
Daphne nodded.
"Into the forest, Daphne. I need you to keep up. Can you do that?"
Another nod.
"Okay. Let's go. Run!"
And run they did.
Daphne couldn't tell how long they ran for. The only sounds she heard was the rustling of leaves at their feet or the panting of her father. Daphne barely even noticed how the sun had begun to set. All she could do was keep moving.
Left foot forward.
Right foot forward.
Left foot forward.
Right foot for-
Suddenly they stopped.
Her father quickly set Astoria down and beckoned for Daphne to stand with the girl.
Taking a protective stance in front of her sister, Daphne watched as her father peered into the forest around them, completely tense.
"Is something wrong?" Daphne whispered.
"It's not right." Her father muttered. "This shouldn't…"
His eyes suddenly widened as he raised his wand.
"Ah!" Daphne yelped, throwing her hands in front of herself and Astoria.
"Protego!"
The shield came up just in time as multiple spells from the trees slammed against it.
"Protego! Protego! Protego Maxima!"
Shields upon shields appeared only to quickly be dispelled by oncoming spells. Daphne couldn't tell how long the moment lasted for, with the cries of Astoria and the shouts of their father.
Finally, the spells stopped after a gruff voice rang out.
"Cease fire!"
From behind the tree lines, out stepped a very familiar man.
Daphne watched as her father's face scrunched up to disgust as he recognized the figure. "Father!" he snarled. "What's the meaning of this?"
"You should know." their grandfather replied coldly. "Cyrus my son, you should've expected this. You are a Greengrass after all."
"I did expect it! Yet I could hardly believe you would make up your mind so quickly!"
"What was there to think about?"
The head of House Greengrass' face showed no signs of emotion. Only coldness as he gazed at them. Their shook with anger, but Daphne could tell he couldn't risk anything else with his daughters behind him.
"Cyrus. Step aside."
Their father shook his head, brandishing his wand.
"You'll have to get through me."
Their grandfather shook his head in disappointment. "Stubborn as always," he muttered. "Nott! Bring her out!"
Issuing his command, one of the masked men stepped out from the tree line with a body levitating in the air, his wand pointed at it.
"No…"
"Mama!"
Astoria was about to take off but Daphne quickly held the girl back.
"LET ME GO! MAMA! MAMA!" The girl screamed as she kicked and punched.
"STOP IT, ASTORIA!" Daphne shouted.
As Daphne was trying to hold her sister back, their father fell to his knees in shock.
"What…what have you done?" He stammered.
"Do you understand now?" Grandfather whispered. "Step aside, Cyrus. Let me remove those half-blood filth of yours and return you to your rightful place. Move aside and I'll make it quick unlike I did your mudblood wife."
"You…killed her…why…? You could've stunned…anything but…you killed…"
"You have spent far too long consorting with these…creatures. Return to me, son. As a proper pure-blood. The mudblood is dead, Cyrus! You can start anew once those spawns are dealt with!"
"I…I…"
Their father seemed utterly broken. His eyes were in despair as he watched the lifeless form of his wife fall to the ground, unmoving.
"I need a few minutes…" he finally whispered. "To say…goodbye."
The last word barely choked out.
"Hmph. If that's what it takes. Fine." Grandfather agreed with a nod.
"Pa…pa?" Daphne whispered.
The man turned around and wrapped both of his children in a tight hug.
"I'm so sorry." He muttered. "I'm so sorry. Oh how I wish…I wish I could see you two grow up. See you off as you take the train to Hogwarts."
It was there where the first tear drop started to fall from his eyes.
"I wish…" he choked. "I wish I could see the women you girls grow up into."
"Papa…please!"
Daphne was sobbing now, along with her sister. "Papa! You can! Just…please!" Daphne cried.
Astoria joined in, sobbing heavily. "Don't leave us, papa." she whispered. "Don't leave us like mama."
Her father started shaking, joining his daughters in their tears.
"I-I wish I could walk you down the aisle." He sobbed. "Scare your boyfriends when I first meet them." He burst out into a sad chuckle at the notion.
Daphne smiled tearfully at the thought, but was quickly shaken out when she felt something being placed around her neck.
"Papa?"
"Live." He whispered, locking eyes with them "The both of you. Take care of each other."
One of their assailants must've seen what was going on as they shouted, "Lord Greengrass! He's placed something on the girl's neck!"
"Stop them!"
The last thing Daphne saw was the sad smile of her father, before the world dissolved around them.
A/N: So this is actually one of my favorite rewrites. While the original wasn't too bad, I think this rewrite captured the grim reality of the situation much, much better. Daphne's and Astoria's regular lives were just uprooted in one single night.
I'm going to post the full changes I made on my discord tomorrow, and take any questions over there as well. Again, the code is: YesTmfQfBX. It's where I will post all the changes and explanations of my decisions in the story.
Thank you for reading!
