Sein: I started walking until I was in the middle of both packs
Scott: "What are you doing?" I asked him confused and worried'
Max: "Look who we have here, the wolf that made everyone look for them" I said in a mocking and annoyed tone
Sein: I sighed and told them in a serious tone, "you are both young and stupid, I am not Humphrey, I only use your body, but you both know who I am"
Max: "What do you mean?" I asked him seriously and impatiently
Sein: "How impatient, your pack knows me as the One or the first fang" I told him seriously
Scoot: "So the legends were true" I told him shocked
Max: "That can't be true, that being is supposed to have left a long time ago, but he left his power hidden by entrusting his location to another pack since he would know that only the strongest member of the fang pack would be able to obtain it" I said seriously
Sein: "As I said, you are very young, stories are altered and details are lost or completely mutated, I never left, but my container had reached its limit, so I went to sleep while I waited for the next one" I explained
Max: I was a little nervous, I didn't know whether to believe him, I knew that Humphrey knew the location of that power and that's why I did everything possible to catch it, "It's better not to alter it while I figure out if it's true" I thought, "What will you do now?" I seriously asked
Sein: "That will depend on your actions" I told them seriously
Scoot: "Which side will you support?" I asked more calmly, knowing that Humphrey is one of us, the most logical thing is that he supports us
Sein: I let out a light laugh and said, "Neither of you"
Scott: "What do you mean?" I asked him seriously but somewhat worried
Sein: "I have no reason to support one of you, neither of you is a real threat to the balance" I told them with an air of superiority
Max: "Then go away and stay out of our fight" I said sharply
Sein: "I would like to, but unfortunately my host has relations with this territory and these packs, so I will take care of both of them and put an end to this fight before it begins" I told them seriously
Before either of them could react, Sein grabbed them both and pinned them to the ground while grabbing their throats. They were all shocked and about to attack him when Sein spoke
Sein: "I'll kill whoever intervenes" I told them coldly as I applied more pressure to Max and Scoot's throats
Scott: "H-hum-pre-y" I tried to say while choking
Max: "St-o-p" I begged him while I was drowning
Sein: "By finishing you two there will be no reason for both packs to face each other here" I told them seriously
Kate: "Stop" I yelled as I approached
Sein: "You don't get involved, this is none of your business" I said seriously
Kate: "It is when you try to kill my partner's teacher and friend" I said seriously
Sein: "I have to do it to avoid this fight, but if you prefer I'll let them go and let the packs kill each other" I said seriously
Kate: "There must be another solution, where no one has to die" I told her with conviction
Sein: "I hope life is so simple" I said while sighing
Kate: "At least give them a chance to make up or something" I asked
Sein: at that moment I had a little flash back of a wolf very similar to Kate asking me the same thing, "This won't work, it never does" I thought frustrated before letting them go and saying seriously, "For once I'll give them a chance, but If you don't take advantage of it, I will kill you immediately"
The two wolves tried to catch their breath
Max: "Damn, I've never felt so powerless" I thought annoyed as I looked at him, "His speed and strength are to be feared, you have to treat him with care until I find a way to use him in my favor or kill him" I thought seriously as I I got up, "I guess you leave us no choice, this day there will be no battle, but I hope you don't get in our way again" I said seriously
Sein: "Your little conflict doesn't interest me in the least, I only have one mission and that is to maintain balance" I told them calmly
Scoot: "What does that mean?" I asked him seriously
Sein: "To be descendants of the great fang pack, you lack a good history lesson" I told them while sighing in disappointment, then I explained "Maintaining the balance means preventing one side from getting too much power, both light and dark, that is why I must remain neutral and avoid favoring any of those sides"
"That's stupid" Both Max and Scoot said at the time
Max: "The darkness will always prevail over the light, wolves are selfish by nature, they will always seek their own benefit" I told him seriously
Scoot: "It's not true, the light always prevails, the wolves are a unit, they will always work together and in harmony to go further" I told him seriously
Sein "years of lost knowledge" I said while sighing, "Both are right, but at the same time they are wrong, light and darkness will always fight to prevail over the other, but neither can destroy or overshadow the other, because they need each other to exist" I explained
Scoot: "What if one beat the other?" I asked a little intrigued
Sein: "It would be catastrophic, it would most likely be the end of everything" I explained
Max: "You don't know, do you" I told him seriously
Sein: "I don't know exactly what would happen since it has never happened, but I do know that it would be catastrophic for everyone" I told them seriously
Max: "maybe we'll find out soon" I told him seriously before leaving with my pack
Scoot: We all saw how Max walked away, so I breathed a sigh of relief, but a new concern arose, the being that lives inside Humphrey is not just anything, it is someone ancient and very powerful, it made my brother and I We looked like mere puppies who couldn't defend themselves, "Now what are you going to do?" asked
Sein: "Not much, there are no signs that the balance is compromised, so I will take advantage of the benefits of having a body again" I said quietly
Scoot: "What does that mean?" I asked him seriously
Sein: "I'll enjoy while I can" I said smiling before switching back to Humphrey
Humphrey: "I can't get used to these changes" I said to myself a little dizzy as I sat down
Scoot: I noticed how his tone changed and his eyes had returned to normal, also his presence was back to the usual, "Humphrey, are you okay?" asked
Humphrey: "yes, it's nothing serious, it always happens to me when I change with Sein" I told him while I recovered
Scoot: "I see" I said nodding
Humphrey: "By the way, I'm very sorry for what he did, believe me he was doing everything possible to prevent him from, well, killing you" I said with a lot of regret
Scoot: "Okay, I believe you" I said quietly, "How much do you know about him?" asked
Humphrey: "The truth is not much, it restricts my access to his memories, I only know that he is very old and powerful, but without any malice, since I don't know his name I call him Sein" I explained
Scoot: "I see" I said thoughtfully
Humphrey: "At least the battle was avoided" I said relieved
Scoot: "This has only just begun" I said seriously
Humphrey: "What do you mean?" I asked him confused
Scoot: "Sein has just humiliated me and my brother, it is something that he will not forget, so he has just become his enemy, therefore, you and your loved ones are in danger" I explained seriously
Humphrey: "Where he dared to do something to them, I would not stop until I finished it" I said seriously
Scoot: "It's true and since Sein is tied to you, I would have to deal with both" I said thoughtfully
Humphrey: "For the same reason it would be a lousy strategy" I said
Scoot: "It's true, but I advise you not to lower your guard" I said
Humphrey: "I'll keep an eye out" I said nodding
Scoot: "Well, it's time for me to go with the pack" I said
Humphrey: "Why so soon?" I asked surprised
Scoot: "It's less dangerous that way, Max won't like anything that we spend too much time with you and for the moment I prefer to avoid conflicts" I explained
Humphrey: I sighed and said a little sadly, "Yes I understand, take care of yourselves"
Scott: "Take care of yourself friend, if one day you need us you know where to look for us" I told him before starting to leave with my pack
But at that moment a couple of wolves appeared to them from some bushes
Scoot: I saw the two wolves and as soon as I recognized the female I quickly approached, "Mia, are you okay?" I asked worried
Mia: "I've been better" I told her tiredly as Kai helped me sit up
Scoot: "Get a healer, quickly" I ordered in a hurry
Humphrey: I walked over quickly and asked "What happened to you?"
Mia: "It's a long story, I'll tell you later" I told them quite tired
At that moment a couple of healers arrived and began to check on her
Humphrey: "By the way, who are you?" I asked the wolf
Kai: "My name is Kai, I found Mia near a river, I tried to help her as best I could, in the end she asked me to help her get here, despite her condition" I explained
Humphrey: "I understand, thanks for helping her" I said gratefully
Sein: "Funny" I thought seeing him, then turned to Humphrey and said, "She's really hurt"
Humphrey: "Will he recover?" I asked worried
Sein: "It would be time to review it carefully, but I'll tell you in advance that it's probably not the best news" I explained
Humphrey: "I see" I said sadly
Mia: "Who is he talking to?" I asked strangely
Scoot: "It's a long story" I said while sighing
"She is serious, we must take her to the cave of the healers to check her better and be able to treat her" said a healer seriously
Scott: I nodded and ordered a couple of my wolves to take her very carefully to the healers' cave
Humphrey: Scoot gathered some of her wolves, Kai, Kate and I waited outside the cave to see what the healers would say, "What was her last mission?" I asked Scoot
Scoot: "The same one they all had, look for you and bring you home" I explained
Humphrey: "I see" I said feeling very guilty, "Who else has not reported?" I seriously asked
Scoot: "Derrens, the last we heard from him is that he confronted Max to give his companions time to escape, in the best of cases they have him prisoner to get information from him" I said sadly
Humphrey: "Did they try to rescue him?" asked
Scoot: "We haven't had a chance to plan anything, but it's complicated, if we attack Max's pack directly, we would be at a territorial disadvantage and possibly lose several wolves and if we send a group to infiltrate, they risk being captured" I explained
Humphrey: "I understand" I said understanding the situation, "In that case I should go" I thought
Sein: "I won't let you do it" I said seriously
Humphrey: "He is my friend; I must help him" I said seriously
Sein: "If you attack the Max pack, you are going to generate an imbalance of power between the packs, causing possibly the worst war between packs that has ever existed" I said seriously
Humphrey: I growled in frustration, because I knew he was right, "But we can't give it up," I said
Scoot: "We won't, I'm still thinking about the best way to rescue him" I explained
After several minutes one of the healers came out of the cave
Scott: "How is she?" I asked worried
The healer sighed and explained, "Not very well, she has several broken ribs, as well as internal bleeding, we haven't finished examining her yet, but her condition isn't very promising"
Scoot: "Will he recover?" I asked worried
"I can't say for sure, but the odds are not in your favor," the healer said sadly
Scoot: "I understand" I said with sadness and pain
Sein: "I suspected it" I said to myself
Humphrey: "Is there anything that can be done?" asked
Sein: "I have a feeling, but first we must know what happened" I explained
Humphrey: "I understand" I said nodding
Kai: "I'm sorry, maybe if I had treated her wounds better, I would have more chances" I said with guilt
Scoot: I shook my head and said "Don't blame yourself, you helped her at a critical time and did everything you could"
Humphrey: "We have to talk to her; we must know what happened to her" I said
Scoot: "normally I would wait for her to be in better condition, but I think we won't have any more chances to find out what happened" I said sighing sadly
Kai: "I can tell you, she told me what happened to her shortly after I treated her wounds" I told them to let her rest
Scoot: "that would be very useful" I said nodding, then I went to the healer, "Keep taking care of her and keep me informed" I ordered
"Of course, sir" said the healer nodding before re-entering the cave
