Shattered (Klatherine)
Summary: Set in Originals S1. Kat's the one pregnant with Klaus' kid, rather than Hayley. Based on the song "Shattered" by Trading Yesterday. Hope you enjoy.
*Always and Forever*
Yesterday I died, tomorrow's bleeding
Fall into your sunlight
The future's open wide, beyond believing
To know why, hope dies
Losing what was found, a world so hollow
Suspended in a compromise
The silence of this sound, is soon to follow
Somehow, sundown
And finding answers
Is forgetting all of the questions we called home
Passing the graves of the unknown
It was a dismal night, as Klaus stood amongst the witches in New Orleans, a human Kat standing by a wall of the mausoleum. Sophie had just explained to him that she had a sense when a young girl was pregnant, telling him that his once doppelganger was pregnant with his unborn child. Then, when Kat asked him to listen and he heard a heartbeat within her stomach, for a moment, he wanted it. He could taste happiness. Then, like a switch had been lit, his anger gained control, him not liking being manipulated.
"You've been with someone else, admit it!" he yelled at Katerina.
"I've been held up here and been trying to survive being human. I haven't been with anyone else," she assured him.
He looked between Sophie and Katerina, debating on what to do, before yelling, "I will not be manipulated!"
*Girl In New Orleans*
As reason clouds my eyes, with splendor fading
Illusions of the sunlight
And a reflection of a lie, will keep me waiting
With love gone, for so long
And this day's ending
Is the proof of time killing, all the faith I know
Knowing that faith, is all I hold
It was a dismal night, as Klaus walked into the room, where Kat was sitting at a table, a laptop in her lap. They then began to discuss why Elijah gave such admiration to nearly everyone, including her. Then, after their little chat, Klaus began to leave, but stopped.
"I learned something today," Kat informed him. Then, when he stopped, she added, "I think it's a girl."
Klaus gave a smile at that, before leaving the room.
*River In Reverse*
And I've lost who I am, and I can't understand
Why my heart is so broken, rejecting your love
Without, love gone wrong, lifeless words carry on
But I know, all I know, is that the end's beginning
Who I am from the start, take me home to my heart
Let me go and I will run, I will not be silent
All this time spent in vain, wasted years, wasted gain
All is lost, hope remains, and this war's not over
There's a light, there's the sun, taking all shattered ones
To the place we belong, and his love will conquer all
Klaus stood in the middle of the circle of vampires that Marcel ordered. He knew this was an attempt to take him down. He still had some mercy in him though, so he decided to use an old trick.
"To borrow a trick from an old friend," Klaus stated, pulling out a gold coin. He then held it up for them to see, saying, "Whoever picks up this coin is forever in my debt." He then dropped it to the floor and waited, but nothing happened.
Marcel looked at his vampires.
"Go on. Whoever picks up that coin pledges their allegiance to Klaus."
When nothing happened, that satisfied Marcel. He then didn't waste any time.
"Take him," Marcel ordered.
A moment later, chains were thrown onto his wrists and the vampires descended upon Klaus, but Klaus eventually began to get the upper hand, biting some vampires and ripping out hearts of other vampires. Then, after several minutes of fighting against them, Klaus turned to look and yell at Marcel.
"Marcel! Come and finish this!"
Marcel was going to join the fight, but instead, he picked up the coin, yelling, "Enough!"
Klaus immediately stopped fighting, honoring the trick, and approached Marcel.
"Well, well. The mighty Marcel, self-proclaimed king of New Orleans. Bowing before me," Klaus commented, giving a smile. He had finally won his family home and New Orleans back from him.

It was dark out, as Klaus stood in the church, a hand around Agnes' throat. She'd tried to kill his unborn child. He wasn't going to let that slide. So, as he stood with a hand around her throat, he looked at her followers.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you," he stated. Then he killed her, letting her body drop to the floor. "No one threatens my family and lives." Then, a moment later, before her followers could do anything, it was a slaughterhouse, as Klaus tore them all apart.

It was a dismal night, as Kat stood in her room, looking out the window. She was halfway through her pregnancy, but happy, despite this reminding her of Nadia. As she looked out the window, Klaus came into the room. He didn't have to make his presence known though, because she could feel that someone was there with her.
She turned to look at him, which let her know who it was.
"Are you okay, luv?" he wanted to know. Knowing her, she usually wasn't the quiet one.
"I'll be fine. I was just thinking," she assured him.
"And what would you be thinking about?" he questioned, as they now stood just inches in front of each other.
"Wouldn't you like to know," she stated.
After a few moments of looking at one another, they began to make out.
