Arizona just finished brushing her teeth and rinsing her mouth when she felt strong arms wrap around her from behind and caress her full belly. Her heart flipped when she looked in the mirror to see her wife's breathtaking smile over her shoulder. Leaning back into her soft curves, loving the way their bodies melded together, Arizona hummed in pleasure when Callie's luscious lips attached themselves to her earlobe, sucking gently, breaking contact long enough for her to whisper, "Good morning gorgeous," before she returned to her ministrations. Arizona lifted her hand to run her fingers through damp black curls and returned, "Mmm good morning beautiful." She could feel Callie's lips curve into a smile against her skin and was pleased that the guilt no longer assaulted her because she had previously failed to tell this amazing woman how much she meant to her, how strong, sexy, and absolutely stunning she always found her to be.
Turning so she could look into those dark chocolate eyes that always projected every emotion Callie was feeling, Arizona brought her arms up, rested one on a strong tan shoulder, caressed a smooth bronze cheek with the other, and whispered, "I love you so much Calliope." Callie's grip tightened on Arizona's lower back, bringing her as close as their triplets would allow, and stared into mesmerizing ocean blue eyes, seeing and feeling all of that love pouring out for her. While this was no longer a rarity since her wife showed her and told her every day in so many different ways how much she admired and adored her, it never failed to make her heart skip a beat and her pulse start racing. As she bent her head, slowly closing the space between them, she murmured, "I love you Arizona, more than I ever thought possible," then captured her full pink lips in a searing kiss which quickly deepened as both women expressed everything they felt in the simple act of lips touching, tongues dancing, and hands caressing.
Reluctantly pulling apart, sharing smaller, more chaste kisses, their lips brushing together over and over as their breathing slowed, Callie rested her forehead on Arizona's after one last peck and declared, "You know, I don't have to go shopping with the girls, I could stay right here with you and we could…" Arizona giggled and cut her off with another soft kiss, then argued, "As much as I want that, I think you should go. Aside from the fact that you absolutely love shopping for the holidays, you haven't spent much time with our friends, nor your sister and it would be fun." Callie ran her hands up and down Arizona's back, loving the feel of her silk robe on her skin, and replied, "I know you're right, it's just…you love shopping and they're your friends too, are you sure you won't reconsider and come with us?" Arizona caressed Callie's bare arms, feeling the contours of her muscles, tempted to take her up on her first offer, but knowing she had plans of her own and answered, "Honey, that would defeat the whole purpose, you would spend your time with me, worrying about if I need to rest, and focusing on me. Go shopping with Addie, Maria, and Aria, have lunch together, reconnect, buy me lots of presents, and enjoy yourself." Callie threw her head back and laughed at how smoothly her adorable wife slipped that presents part in there and relented, "Okay, okay, I know you're right. I'll go. What are you going to do?"
Arizona sighed in relief, she really needed Callie out of the house for a while. Deciding to tell her a partial truth, she declared, "Our mothers are having lunch together and I thought I'd tag along with them. Well, they both kind of insisted on it." Seeing the odd expression on her wife's face, the blonde asked, "What are you thinking?" Callie shook her head, laughed at herself, and answered, "I know you're going to think this is weird, but it just makes me happy to hear that. I mean, I've always had such a great relationship with your mom, and I just…it bothered me that I couldn't give you that, my mom wasn't there for you. It makes me happy that you are getting along now, that this time you have that too, and that they get along as well." Arizona looked at Callie, a little surprised by this revelation, and answered, "You never told me that before. I had your dad though baby. Most importantly, I had you and that's all I will ever need." Callie brushed their lips together again and just as she ran her tongue along the seam of Arizona's lips, they heard a knock on the door and Addie's grumpy voice demanding, "Cal, get your ass out here, it's time to go."
Both women started giggling, shared one last kiss and as Callie made her way into their bedroom moving toward the door, Arizona stopped her with, "Honey, as much as I love that look, could you do me a huge favor and put a shirt on?" Callie looked down and realized she was just about to leave their room in only her jeans and a bra, blushed slightly, then laughed when she got hit in the face with a t-shirt and a hoodie. Pulling both shirts over her head, she quickly ran a brush through her hair with a little styling gel and turned to her wife for her approval. Arizona stepped closer, fixed a stray curl, smoothed down the soft stubble, smirked and declared, "I think it might be time for me to pull out the clippers again." Callie leaned in to steal a kiss and responded, "Mmm I like the sound of that. Your customer service is way better than Stevie's." Arizona laughed, gave her a smacking kiss and replied, "Well, I for one am extremely happy to hear that and I am certain Jordyn is too." Callie thought about what she'd just said, crinkled up her face, visibly shivered, and exclaimed, "Oohh no! Just, ugh no." Arizona laughed and pushed her wife out the door, following close behind.

After seeing Callie and the others off, Sofia and Bella went to her room to play and Arizona and Barb took the opportunity to clean up the kitchen and reorganize the refrigerator with all the leftovers from their Thanksgiving dinner. While Arizona was dividing everything into portions for her own family, Addie and Jake to take to the pool house, and her parents to take home with them, Barb was watching her daughter with a dimpled smile on her face. Feeling her mother's gaze, Arizona looked up and asked, "What?" The older woman shook her head, laughed lightly, stretched out her arm and waved it the length of Arizona's body and declared, "This, you. I guess sometimes I still can't reconcile domestic motherly Arizona with the younger Arizona who declared she was never having a family, she would be married to her job." Daniel, who was sitting at the table reading his paper, was having the same thoughts, but gently teased, "Leave her be Barb." Arizona thought about the adamant proclamations she made in her late teens and early twenties, continued doing what she was doing, and declared, "You know, that mindset almost broke us before we even got started. That was our first fight actually." Barb leaned against the counter; certain she'd never heard this story. The younger version of her daughter never shared these types of things.
Arizona's mind had traveled back in time as she recalled, "Callie and I were in her lab and she just discovered that her first trial of artificial cartilage worked and we were both so excited. We'd also had a good, but strange day. It was like we were the only functional couple in the hospital at the time and people were coming to us for advice. That was the day she told me about her dream. She said she could see us ten years from now in a big house with kids and a dog and we were the sage, sane couple that everyone came to. I was on board until she said kids and kinda freaked out on her." Daniel folded up his newspaper, laid it on the table and turned to listen to his daughter. Arizona put the lid on a container and admitted, "We fought for a couple of weeks, then I decided that I couldn't give her what she wanted, so I broke up with her so she could find someone who could." Arizona looked up to see both of her parents staring at her in disbelief. She shook her head at herself, wondering how in the world she could ever think she could give Callie up, then deciding to forego the whole shooting story, she revealed, "That didn't last long, I realized I couldn't live without her and though I didn't think I'd be a good mom, I knew she would." Both Daniel and Barb wanted to argue that fact, but they stayed quiet, waiting to see if their daughter had more to say.
Arizona walked over to the refrigerator, opened the door and felt it brush against her stomach, looked down at her protruding belly and laughed when it once again occurred to her that Callie's words from so many years ago had finally manifested into their reality. She turned to look at her parents and proclaimed, "So here we are, ten years later, big beautiful house, dog, amazing daughter, three more on the way, friends who stand by us no matter what, and we are both the top in our fields professionally. It took us a long time and a lot of heartache, but we finally figured it out and it's something I'll never regret." She stopped then, looked into the back yard and sighed, "Except…" Both parents followed her gaze, rolled their eyes and drolly finished, "Chickens." All three of them laughed and Arizona nodded, "Chickens." She sobered then, looked around her home, rubbed her stomach, feeling the little flutters, and added, "Calliope made me want things I never even imagined I could have and though we failed at it many times, I never stopped wanting it and I never stopped wanting it with her. When I look into my daughter's eyes, feel these little butterfly kicks, I think about the person I used to be and wonder what the hell I was thinking. I mean, I almost deprived both of us of all of this. That's why…well that's why I'm doing what I'm doing for Calliope's Christmas present."
Daniel asked, "Is that what this big talk we need to have is all about?" Right on cue, the doorbell rang and Arizona smiled as she went to the door, singing, "You'll see." She opened the door to find Lucia and Carlos standing on the other side, hugged them both, invited them in, then waited in the doorway for Miguel who was just pulling up. Once everyone was seated around the dining room table and had coffee or tea, Arizona cleared her throat and started, "There's something I've been wanting to do for a while now and I had a talk with Lucia last night, so I'd like to share my thoughts with all of you. Miguel, you are here because I need to know the legalities and I'd like you to take care of all the paperwork for us." The attorney nodded, he wasn't quite sure what his friend and client was thinking, especially after reading over the email and documents he'd received, but knowing the blonde as he did, he was certain she had a very meticulous plan.
Arizona looked around the table at the expectant faces, took a sip of her tea, and explained, "Mom, dad, I just finished telling you about how Callie's dream of having a home and a family became mine. While we were on our honeymoon, I realized where her love and passion for family came from and it was then that I started to develop my own dream. I want my children, our children, to grow up in a family that is steeped in tradition and culture, I want them to be surrounded by all of their family and loved ones, I want them to know and experience a world outside of what we have built for them here. I want them to have what Callie had as a child. Our first night in the Ortiz family home, they threw us a reception. The entire family, aunts, uncles, cousins, second and third cousins, the entire town who remembered Callie as a child came to welcome her back home, even after twenty years of no contact." She looked at her parents, put her hand over her father's, hoping to soften the blow, and continued, "I loved the life we had, moving around and seeing everything and knowing people from all corners of the world was great, but…I never had that…I never had that feeling of belonging, not until then, not until people pulled me into their arms and hugged me and called me family just because I was Callie's wife." She felt the stinging of the tears in her eyes and admitted, "I want that, for me, for our children, but I want to give that to Calliope. I want her…us…to have a house in the place she considers her true home. So that's why I asked you all here. Not for permission, but to help me make it happen."
Daniel and Barb looked at one another, both seeing the pride the other held for their daughter. This was their Arizona, their good man in a storm, this was the person they raised her to be. She was strong, confident, and most importantly, she protected and supported the ones she loved and to hear that she wanted to raise her family in such a way, that she had her own dreams for their future, made them beyond happy for her. Lucia and Carlos also looked at one another, neither surprised by this revelation because they both understood from their first real encounter with the feisty blonde that she loved their daughter beyond all measure. To learn she wanted to give their Calliope something, be a part of something that meant so much to her, they were even more taken with her. Finally, Carlos asked, "How can we help?" Daniel cleared his throat and added, "Whatever we can do, we are in…as long as we get to visit you." They all laughed and Arizona looked to Lucia and asked, "Were you able to contact Uncle Berto?" Lucia smiled at her daughter-in-law and nodded as she answered, "I was, he'd received your email last week and said he'd gather everything we asked for and send it to Miguel."
Looking around the table, Miguel guessed it was his turn to speak up, lifted his briefcase to the table, pulled out copies of the email and documents he printed off and passed them around. Arizona read through the paperwork while the other five people at the table were focused on the picture of the dilapidated old farmhouse. Miguel raised his brow in concern and asked, "Is this what you are wanting to purchase?" All four parents looked up for an answer and felt their hearts drop as the blonde smiled brightly and replied, "That's it." Daniel blinked several times, not wanting to dash his daughter's dreams, but his wife beat him to it and exclaimed, "Arizona, this thing is falling down. It should be condemned." Carlos nodded and stated, "My apologies Arizona, but I have to agree with your mother, I don't think this is a very good investment." Arizona knew both sets of parents would respond in such a manner, reached into her pocket and pulled out a photograph Aunt Ana gave to her and laid it on the table, declaring, "This is what I am purchasing."
Lucia and Carlos both smiled when their eyes landed on the picture of a ten year old Calliope standing next to her Papi, both leaning against the hood of the beloved 57 Thunderbird which was parked in front of a glorious, beautifully decorated hacienda. The land around it flourished with local trees, bushes, and flowers, and finally Lucia recognized the home and exclaimed, "This is the same place? Calliope and Papi used to visit frequently and he always worked the land and did odd jobs…" Arizona finished, "While Callie worked on the car so Papi could show her how to earn what you want. Now that car belongs to her. She took me there and told me all the stories and I could see the sadness in her eyes when she saw what it had become. That place always meant so much to her so I want to purchase the land, renovate the house, and have it rebuilt to its former glory with some modern updates, of course." Everyone at the table breathed a sigh of relief at her explanation and Arizona laughed, assuring them, "I haven't lost my mind and I did think about buying something else, I even considered the place where we stayed on our honeymoon. But I want to be near the family and we will still be close enough to the city to take the kids on day trips, it's only a little over an hour from Mazatlán." She picked up the picture, looked at it closely and revealed, "I think the house stayed empty for so long because it was waiting for us."
Carlos nodded in understanding and asked, "So what is it you'd like from us? Do you need money?" Arizona shook her head and instantly corrected, "No, no, no, I have the money. While we have joint accounts, I knew this was something I wanted to do to surprise Calliope, so I, um, I didn't share with her that I had been saving all of my interest from Grey-Sloan as well as my pay from being on the board in a separate account for the last several years since our divorce. I wasn't trying to keep it from her and I'll transfer the remainder…" Carlos reached out, took Arizona's hand in both of his and softly assured, "Mija, there's no need to explain. Keeping the account a secret was sneaky, yes, but for a good cause. It wasn't underhanded and there was no malicious intent. One thing I've always respected and admired about you is your complete indifference toward our family's wealth and your insistence on paying your own way, even when it wasn't necessary. You don't even like asking for favors or accepting gifts. The fact that you have worked so hard and saved and now want to do this on your own, it only speaks of your great integrity as well as your love for your family." Arizona smiled, swallowed the lump in her throat and responded, "Thank you Carlos. That means a great deal coming from you."
Still learning how truly impressive the blonde was, Lucia asked, "So what can we do?" Arizona smiled then, and answered, "I need your help with the communication first of all, Spanish not being my strong suit. Carlos and daddy, I just want you to look over everything and make sure I'm getting a fair deal while making the renovations and mom and Lucia, I'd love for you to assist in helping me pick the décor and colors. I'm afraid I'll also need to ask the family's assistance in finding the best contractors, decorators, and landscapers." Lucia laughed at that and replied, "Oh Arizona dear, Berto is just waiting for you to sign the papers, he has everyone all lined up." Smiling like the proud papa he was, Daniel looked at his wife, then at Arizona and replied, "If this is what you want, then you have our support." The rest of the group agreed and Miguel walked them all through each piece of the purchase agreement.
Two hours and several phone calls later, Arizona sat back in her chair and smiled giddily. Within a few days, she and Callie would own a second home in Mexico. She just hoped the paperwork went through quickly so the renovations could start. She knew the house wouldn't be done by Christmas, but she could at least give her wife the deed to the land and show her pictures of the architectural plans. She couldn't wait to see Callie's face. Normally, she would worry about such a purchase, especially about not discussing it with her wife first since this was always a big problem for them, but she knew this was something Callie wanted as well and that was enough to keep her anxiety at bay.
Once Miguel left, Carlos looked to Daniel and asked, "Would you like to join the kids and I on our little shopping spree?" Surprised by the offer, Daniel smiled and bargained, "Only if you agree to allow me to pay for half of the purchases." The older Torres shook his head and laughed, "Now I see where your daughter gets it. It's a deal. Let's go round up the troops." The retired Colonel laughed in return, he didn't much like the businessman when he first met him, but as his daughter said earlier, a lot can change in ten years. Both Lucia and Barbara looked at their husbands and knew while they were often accused of being the ones to go overboard, their spouses had no such qualms with doing so themselves. The two older women looked at one another, nodded their heads, then grabbed their coats and waited by the door. Arizona laughed at the interaction and recalled Callie's words from earlier, she too was glad their parents got along well and if she were being honest, she was relieved to have some time to herself.

After spending hours on their feet and barely having enough room in Arizona's new SUV for all their purchases, Callie, Addie, Maria, and Aria finally sat down in a cozy little seafood restaurant near the mall. Callie noticed that Addison kept looking at the door and would occasionally scan the restaurant and finally asked, "What the hell are you so nervous about." Addison took a drink of her wine and snapped, "Excuse me for being on edge, but the last two times I was at a restaurant with you, a blast from either your or Arizona's past decided to make a scene, so I'm just trying to prepare myself this time." Maria laughed, clinked her glass with the red head's and Aria sat quietly, unsure what the others were talking about. She did laugh, however, when her sister, true to form, glared at the two women and snapped, "Fuck you." Noticing the bewildered expression on the older Latina's face, Addison briefly explained both encounters and Aria sat shocked as even her sister finally laughed at the ridiculousness of it. Maria looked around too and asked, "Are there any more exes lurking about?" Callie snorted and replied, "They're both dead, so if they showed up, my ass would be the first one out the door." Addison nearly spit her drink all over herself and asked, "What about…" Callie held up her finger and warned, "If you say that bitch's name, I swear I will revoke all rights of being an aunt to my children." Addison snapped her mouth shut and Maria and Aria stared at one another in confusion.
Thankfully for Callie, their food arrived and she didn't have to explain the other blue-eyed, though far less intriguing, compassionate, passionate, and beautiful blonde, that she briefly dated, to the others. She looked up and noticed that Aria was wearing the same expression she had seen on and off throughout the day and felt a little pang in her chest for the other woman. Though she hadn't seen her in years, she knew her sister well and knew that look, Aria was feeling left out. Though it was her own fault, Callie couldn't help but feel sorry for her and decided to try to make more of an effort to include her in these conversations and to spend more time talking with her, just the two of them.
As she took a spoonful of lobster bisque into her mouth, she noticed her sister's expression change to one of interest and tuned back into the conversation to see what caught her attention as she listened to Maria telling some story. "…of course we have to be there because this is only Marco's second show and we'd love to show him our support so we were wondering if you all would like to join us. Maybe we can make an evening of it; go to the gallery, then maybe dinner, drinks, and dancing afterward." Callie's gears started turning when her sister asked, "Really, this is only his second show? But his work is so beautiful, I don't see how people aren't chomping at the bit to display it." Narrowing her eyes, Callie asked, "When have you seen his work?" She watched the blush creep up her sister's neck and knew there was something she had missed.
Maria looked at Aria and arched her brow in question. As far as she knew, Marco and Aria had only met maybe two times, but now that she thought about it, her brother-in-law did ask about Callie's sister frequently. She looked at Callie, saw the expression on her face and repeated the question, "Yeah, when have you seen his work?" Aria sputtered and stammered, "Uh, at the center and um, he showed me some pictures on his phone at Cal's birthday party." Addison looked up then and asked skeptically, "And after seeing a mural in a NICU ward and some pictures on a phone, you decided to become his biggest fan?" Callie gasped, "Oh my God! You like him." Aria huffed, tossed her napkin on the table and declared, "We are not twelve Cal!" Maria smirked and decided to see if she could break the other woman by adding, "That would explain why he asks about you so often." Aria's head snapped up and without her permission, the words flew from her mouth, "He does? He asks about me?" Addison flapped her hands in the air while trying to swallow her food and exclaimed, "Oh my God, oh my God, we have to go back to the mall. We need to get you a dress. We are definitely going to that gallery opening Sunday." Callie and Maria nodded in agreement, giving Aria no choice in the matter.
Aria felt like her face was on fire. She was so not ready for this. She wasn't sure she would ever be ready to open herself up to anyone again. She found Marco interesting and funny and handsome, but she would never admit to anyone that she'd actually researched him and even had one of his prints hanging in her office back home. She looked up and saw both Addison and Callie on their phones and heard Maria ask, "What are you doing?" Without looking up, both women replied, "Checking with Jake." "Making sure Arizona feels up to it." Just like that, she realized she wanted that too and something inside her, something extremely unfamiliar to her, something akin to excitement, ignited in her abdomen. Taking a drink of her wine, she muttered, "Well it looks like I'm staying a couple extra days." Maria smiled beside her. If Aria was anything like her sister, she couldn't imagine a better match for Marco and didn't feel one bit of shame for setting this up.
When Callie finally put her phone down, she was laughing so hard she could hardly breathe. Addie asked, "What the hell is wrong with you?" Callie waved her hand in front of her face and declared, "I just told Arizona about this whole conversation and how we were going to be a little later so we could help Aria pick out a dress because she has a crush on Marco." She looked down at her phone and looked back up again saying, "And my very astute wife replied, 'Well duh are you all blind? They went into the same escape room together, then sat at the table whispering to each other all night, they even made the same damn cake.'" The other two women laughed as well and Aria folded her arms and muttered, "Your whole family is made up of watch dogs! Was she going to bite him if he got too close?" Addie laughed, pulled Callie's hoodie down, revealing the large oval shaped red and purple mark on her collar bone and answered, "Nope, she reserves that for your sister." Aria covered her eyes and squealed, "Oooh, just no! I did not need to see that and I certainly don't want to know how you know it's there." Maria tossed back the rest of her drink, put her arm around the other woman and declared, "Trust me honey, there are far worse things Addie and I have both seen that made us want to gouge our eyes out with a spoon." Callie smirked and replied, "In the words of my brilliant wife, that says more about your sad existence than it does about us." All four women laughed and proceeded to eat their lunch.

After finding the perfect dress for Aria and dropping her off at the hotel, Callie pulled into her driveway and was disappointed to see that her in-laws' car was gone, which meant Arizona probably wasn't home yet. She checked her phone for a text from her wife and frowned when she only saw a text from her dad. Opening the message, she read it and declared, "My dad said they just finished with their shopping and were on their way to the soup kitchen now to drop off the coats. He said they'd be another hour and asked if you just wanted him to bring Bella home." Maria thought about it for a minute, normally she'd stay and visit, but after such a long day of shopping and fighting the crowds, she sighed in relief and answered, "If he truly doesn't mind, that would be great. I honestly just want to head home and put my feet up." Addison got out of the backseat, opened the hatch in the back and started separating their purchases as she declared, "Amen sister." Callie sent a quick response to her dad and helped Addie and Maria with the bags.
Finding her own bags, Callie switched some things around, putting all of Arizona's gifts in different bags from Sofia's, then went to the back of the garage, pulled out the step ladder, climbed up, pulled down one of the storage bins and deposited her purchases in the empty plastic tub, then carefully put it back exactly where it was. When she climbed down, she noticed her two friends staring at her with smirks on their faces and explained, "Arizona snoops and when I say snoops, I mean she finds every damn present I try to hide." Maria scoffed, "I swear she is the biggest damn kid I know." Callie smiled brightly, thinking of her wife's excitement during the holiday season and proclaimed, "You have no idea. Wait until we start decorating." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Callie realized it was the first time they would really get to enjoy Christmas together in years and she planned to make it extremely special for her family.
Once they said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, Callie opened the door to the mudroom and frowned when she didn't see Tobin in his cage then thought maybe Daniel stayed behind and didn't go to lunch with Arizona and their mothers. She couldn't quite blame him though; it didn't seem like a Colonel thing to do. Walking further into the house, she was surprised by how quiet it was and wondered why the pup hadn't made a sound, until she reached the dining room and saw a mass of blonde curls draped over the arm of the sofa. Quietly walking into the living room, Callie smiled softly when she saw her wife was sound asleep, a book in her hand, and Tobin curled around her stomach, both of them snoring softly. She bent down to kiss her wife's forehead and pulled the blanket from the back of the couch to cover her up when she heard the low growl and looked down to see Tobin had woken up and was now trying to protect Arizona. Callie gently lay the blanket over her wife and started to walk away when she heard a groggy voice mutter, "Hey, you're home."
Turning back toward the sofa, Callie looked down into sleepy blue eyes and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. I just didn't want you to get cold." Arizona smiled lazily, held out her arm and suggested, "Maybe you should come keep me warm then." Callie took Arizona's hand which only made Tobin growl louder and replied, "I don't think I'm allowed to come any closer." Arizona pulled the pup to her chest, gave him a tight squeeze, then whispered, "Sorry little guy, but wife trumps pup." She then placed the small dog on the floor, scooted further back on the sofa, lifted the blanket and ordered, "Get down here and cuddle with your wife." Not needing to be told twice, Callie lay down on the couch and pulled Arizona into her arms.
Feeling her body start to relax after a stressful day of fighting frantic shoppers and dealing with the heavy weekend traffic, Callie sighed and admitted, "I missed you." Arizona lifted her head from Callie's chest, kissed the soft skin under her chin and murmured, "I missed you too. Did you have a good time?" Callie caressed her stomach and answered, "I did, it was fun. How about you? How was lunch with our mothers?" Arizona panicked briefly then revealed, "We didn't go to lunch. Your dad invited my dad to go shopping with him and the kids, and our mothers decided they would need supervision. So I had some leftovers and decided to catch up on my reading and just enjoy the silence." Callie kissed her temple and replied, "Sounds relaxing. Beats fighting traffic and arguing with an old lady over how she should get the last talking, pooping, crying doll because this is the only thing her granddaughter wants for Christmas and she would be devastated if she didn't get it." Arizona laughed and asked, "Did you give it to her?" Callie shook her head and replied, "Hell no, she would have been more convincing if her cart wasn't full of crap and we didn't hear her tell a man the same thing about a Superman toy not five minutes before that." Arizona laughed and commented, "You are so ruthless." Callie shrugged and replied, "Only for my family."
While the two women lay together quietly, Callie started thinking about Christmas again and how long it had been since they'd celebrated the holiday together as a family. She knew for her, even when she had Sofia with her, it just didn't feel the same, it was so lonely and now she knew that it was because a piece of her was missing. She started to wonder if Arizona felt the same way, how she spent her holidays, if she'd formed new traditions or… "What are you thinking so hard about?" Arizona asked when she felt Callie's body tense up again. Callie buried her nose in Arizona's hair, inhaling the scent that always soothed her, pulled her tighter and answered, "Christmas." The blonde furrowed her brow and asked, "And that made you tense up?" Callie shook her head and explained, "I was thinking about how this is the first time we'll be celebrating together as a family since Sofia was a toddler and I just, I got sad for a minute, thinking about everything we missed out on, thinking about how lonely I was. I mean, I don't even know if you have the same traditions…or…" She stopped herself, not sure what she was going to say.
Arizona closed her eyes, trying not to think about all the lonely Christmases she'd spent pining for her lost love, cuddled closer, snaked her hand under Callie's shirt to feel her warmth, to center herself and to remember that this was real, then answered, "When I had Sofia, I stuck with the traditions we always said we wanted to establish for her but yeah, there was always something missing, we were…incomplete. I was lonely too. When I didn't have Sofia, I would always trade shifts with people who had families, cover the E.R., do anything I could to keep myself busy." Callie nodded in understanding and replied, "Me too, well, except for…my first Christmas here, but you already know about that." Arizona sat up on her elbow, looked Callie in the eye, caressed her face, then released her super-magic smile and asked, "You know what?" Callie couldn't help but smile and asked, "What?" Arizona brushed their lips together and answered, "We don't have to think about that anymore. We are together with our daughter, we have three beautiful babies on the way, and all of that stuff is behind us." Callie covered the soft hand on her cheek and replied, "We are together, forever." Arizona nodded and they both leaned in for a longer, more sensual kiss.
Pulling back, Callie asked, "So we are sticking to our same traditions?" Arizona smiled and nodded, "We are." She then clapped her hands and exclaimed, "Yay! I'm so excited. When are we getting our tree?" Callie ran her fingers through tousled blonde curls and answered, "Well, we usually start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving, so how about next Saturday? There's this amazing little tree farm where you can cut down your own tree and the kids can have lunch with Santa and they have little stations where they can make their own ornaments. Oh, and right next door is this huge barn with all sorts of homemade decorations and oooh, we need decorations and lights and…" Arizona started laughing, laid a smacking kiss on Callie's lips, and proclaimed, "That sounds like so much fun. Should we ask Jake and Addie if they want to join us?" Arizona watched as Callie deflated slightly and asked, "What's wrong honey?" Callie sighed, rubbed the back of her neck and replied, "I am going to sound like a horrible friend right now, but I just…this is our first Christmas back together and I kind of…no, I really want it to just be the three of us." Arizona smiled softly, caressed Callie's face and admitted, "I really want that too. I was just asking to be polite." Callie kissed her forehead and replied, "I think she will understand." Arizona nodded and agreed, "Me too."
Callie yawned and pulled Arizona back down on her chest and suggested, "Let's try to rest before everyone comes back." The blonde nodded and pulled the blanket up to cover them both. Callie chuckled when she heard a whimper and the sofa was bumped a couple times before she felt little footsteps on her legs, then her abdomen, and peeked one eye open as the pup turned in circles and finally settled himself on her chest. Arizona snickered and whispered, "See he likes you." Callie grumbled and replied, "He's only using me to get close to you." Arizona laughed, snuggled closer and after a few moments of peace and quiet, the two women and their pup were all fast asleep.

Late Saturday morning, Sofia sat on the tall stool at the island in the kitchen pouring ingredients into the large glass bowl as her mama handed them to her and asked, "What's brunch?" Callie walked to the refrigerator, took out the chorizo, bacon, some fruit, and vegetables, and asked, "What does it sound like?" The little girl started stirring the mixture, tilted her head, stuck her little tongue out, and replied, "I think it sounds like breakfast and lunch mixed together." Callie smiled, washed the fruit and answered, "That's exactly what it is. It's a combination of breakfast and lunch foods and it's eaten later in the morning or early in the afternoon instead of having breakfast or lunch." Sofia watched her mama cut up the strawberries and asked, "Are those for the waffles? Mommy loves strawberries in her waffles, more than bananas or chocolate." Callie smiled at her thoughtful little girl and responded, "They are, but I was thinking after you mix the batter, we can pour it into smaller bowls and make some with strawberries, some with chocolate chips, and some plain, so everyone can choose what they'd like." Sofia looked at the batter to make sure there was no lumps like mama taught her, pushed it across the counter and asked, "Can I have a chocolate chip waffle?" Callie narrowed her eyes and asked, "Did you make your bed?" The little girl nodded her head and replied, "I made my bed, I picked up my toys, and I already took Tobin for his walk and fed him breakfast." Callie smiled and winked then answered, "I guess that earned you a chocolate chip waffle."
While the two worked together, Callie patiently showing her daughter how to mix the ingredients for the omelets, Barb walked into the kitchen and declared, "Wow! Something smells wonderful, is Sofia cooking our brunch?" The little brunette giggled, looked up at her mama and replied, "I am, but mama insisted on helping." Both of the older women laughed and Barb asked, "Is there work for an old grandma? Grandpa won't let me help pack the car." Sofia looked around the countertop and her eyes landed on the package of bacon. Smiling, she asked, "Can you make the bacon? But you have to make some crispy and some chewy. Me and Grandpa like crispy bacon and my mommies like it chewy." Barb laughed, she was well aware of this and had spent her entire married life making bacon two ways. Nodding her head, she replied, "I think I can do that." She then proceeded to get to work on her appointed task.
As the three worked together in tandem, Barb asked, "Where is Arizona?" Callie smiled just hearing her wife's name and opened her mouth to answer when the woman in question appeared and answered for herself, "I was taking a long hot bath which my amazing wife insisted on." As always, she walked directly to the love of her life, gave her a chaste kiss, then kissed both her mother and her daughter on the cheek. She reached out to steal a piece of strawberry when she was scolded, "Mommy, those are for your waffles, you can't have any." Arizona pouted to her daughter and whined, "But your babies are hungry." Sofia's face softened and she picked up three slices of strawberries, handed them to her mommy, then whispered to her tummy, "This is just a snack, we are making yummy food, so be patient okay?" Arizona popped the strawberries in her mouth and smiled at her wife and mother as they both cooed at the bossy big sister.
Arizona carefully climbed on the stool next to her daughter, took the cup of tea Callie handed her and asked, "When are your parents and Aria coming?" Callie looked at the clock and replied, "Mom and dad should be here any time now. They are going straight to the airport after we eat. I'm not sure about Aria since she is staying until Monday." Both women shared a knowing look and Barb asked, "Why is she staying?" Callie cleared her throat and explained, "We are all going to Marco's gallery show, so she's staying for that." Barb nodded her head, smirked, and commented, "I wondered when that would happen." Callie's jaw dropped and asked, "You knew too?" Barb scoffed and replied, "It was so obvious. I hope it works out; your sister deserves to find someone who will treat her well." Callie looked to Arizona, silently asking if she told her about Aria's past and Barb took her hand and answered the unasked question, "Your mother told me. We were talking about how happy the two of you were and your father commented that he wished Aria could find what you two have and your mother explained what he meant by that." Callie thought she'd be surprised to find out her mother spoke so freely about Aria's ex to her mother-in-law, then realized how easy it was to open up to her, how trustworthy she was, and recognized it wasn't a shock at all.
Sofia looked outside and saw Henry and his parents coming toward the house and ran to open the door for them. Giving everyone a hug, the little girl asked, "Are you coming to our brunch too?" Addie smiled at her niece, smoothed down her hair and answered, "Sorry big girl, not today. We always put up our tree on Thanksgiving weekend and promised Henry he could help cut it down this year. So we are on a mission." Sofia clapped and answered, "I love decorating the tree. We always do it the week after." She looked at her mommies, wondering if that changed now that they were a family again and Arizona smiled and confirmed, "That's right sweetie. Mama and I already have the whole day planned." She then looked to her wife, both of them slightly relieved and feeling far less guilty about wanting the day to be just about their family.
Arizona looked to Addie and asked, "Do you know where you are going? Callie knows of this great place and we are going next week." Jake asked, "Is it the North Pole Tree Farm?" Callie nodded, snapped her fingers and declared, "Yes! That's the name of it. It just wouldn't come to me last night. You should stop at the craft barn next door, there's always these great homemade…" She was interrupted by Jake, Addison, and Arizona bursting into laughter, looked around, then smacked herself in the head and muttered, "Oh right, this is Addison Forbes-Montgomery we are talking about. Everything has to be extravagant, there needs to be a theme, and God forbid, if the lights don't compliment the decorations." Addison smirked and replied, "Exactly, now if you'll excuse us, we are going to find the perfect tree and just for your snarky little comment, I'm going to break a branch on all the rest of the trees so you can't have a better tree than ours." Barb clucked her tongue and asked, "Are you sure you two aren't somehow related?" Arizona laughed and replied, "You would think." Callie turned on her and accused, "You two bicker more than we do. If anything you're at least distant cousins." Jake pulled his wife toward the mudroom and ordered, "Come on, you've taunted them enough." Addison allowed her husband to pull her away, turned and stuck out her tongue at her two friends, then laughed when she saw Arizona discreetly rubbing her forehead with her middle finger.

After an enjoyable and delicious brunch with both families and agreeing that Sofia could spend the night with Aria in the hotel, Callie and Arizona watched them all pull out of the driveway, closed the door and sagged against it, sighing in relief. Callie took Arizona's hand in hers, rolled her head sideways and asked, "Are we horrible people?" Arizona brought their hands to her lips, kissed the back of Callie's hand and answered, "At this point, I don't care. We are alone and the house is quiet." Callie wiggled her eyebrows and asked, "Hmm what did you have in mind?" Arizona pushed herself off the door, pulled Callie with her toward the back of the house and answered, "Something my lovely wife has wanted to do for a long time now and has been waiting extremely patiently for me to be ready." Callie furrowed her brow in confusion trying to figure out what it could be. Her mind immediately went to the bedroom and their sex life, but there isn't anything she's asked for that Arizona hasn't agreed to. She became more confused when they turned into the guest suite rather than their own bedroom.
Callie looked around the room and asked, "What are we doing in here?" Arizona turned to face Callie, rested her arms loosely on her shoulders, and declared, "We, my dear wife, the mother of my children, are going to take measurements of the room, then we are going shopping to pick colors and a theme for our nursery, and then we are going to pick out the furniture." Callie's mega-watt smile split her face, her eyes twinkled like it was her own personal Christmas, and a sob caught in her throat as she whispered, "Seriously? You want to…today?" Arizona's heart flipped at the exuberant expression on Callie's face, she could feel the excitement buzzing through her body and wondered how she was keeping it suppressed. She answered with her own brilliant smile and barely nodded her head once, when she found herself lifted off her feet and spun in circles as Callie squealed in delight. Pulling back, both women did a little happy dance and Callie shrieked, "We're decorating the nursery!" Arizona bounced on her toes, clapped her hands and declared, "We are, we really are."
Callie turned in a wide circle, looked around at all the furniture, and started to panic, "What are we going to do with everything? Arizona…there's so much to do, how are we going to…" Arizona stopped her with a hard searing kiss and gently soothed, "Calliope, calm down. The bigger guest room is still empty, we can move everything in there, I'm sure our friends will help. We already have an idea of the furniture we want; we can go back to that store and look at it again and have them deliver it at a later date. We still have to paint and everything. But…it's time. You've been so amazing and haven't even brought it up once and I really want to be a part of it and soon I won't be able to. We don't have to do everything today, but we can start." Callie took a deep breath; she was so excited she could burst. She didn't get to have any input on Sofia's nursery, though it was lovely and Arizona did an amazing job, it was something she wanted them both to do together. She watched as Arizona took out her phone, opened an app and started taking pictures. Confused, she asked, "What are you doing?" Arizona smiled and replied, "I found this app that does the measuring for you and records it in your notes." Callie narrowed her eyes and asked, "You've been planning this haven't you?" Arizona nodded and replied, "Honestly, I've been wanting to do it for a while, something always popped up." Callie pulled Arizona into her arms, kissed her softly and excitedly asked, "Can we go now?" Arizona laughed and returned, "Yes mama, we can go now."
While Callie was driving into the city, Arizona was flipping through her phone looking at ideas for themes for the nursery. Not finding anything she liked, she asked, "What were you thinking as far as theme and colors?" Callie pursed her lips and replied, "I'm not sure, I mean we want it to be gender neutral, but something all of them would enjoy, colorful, peaceful, I thought maybe you'd want to go with a Disney theme or something along those lines." Arizona thought about it for a moment and replied, "I've thought about it, but I don't want it to be too restricting. Let's see if there's anything on Pinterest." Callie laughed, shook her head and declared, "I still can't believe you have a Pinterest account." Arizona huffed, "Hey, I've gotten a lot of cute ideas from there." She scrolled through the pictures and stopped when she came to a beautiful mural from Finding Nemo which inspired her to ask, "What would you think about an ocean theme?" Callie glanced over and clarified, "Like The Little Mermaid or Finding Nemo?" Arizona shook her head and answered, "No, not Disney, just the ocean and marine life in general. We were both so at peace when we were by the ocean, it was calm and refreshing, the colors were gorgeous, and when we went to the aquarium, the different varieties of animals were so vibrant and we both loved being around them. We could find one of those noise machines with ocean sounds, and ooh one of those night lights that shines on the ceiling." Arizona started bouncing in her seat with excitement, she could almost picture it.
Callie thought about it for a minute, remembered how calm she always felt near the ocean, smiled and replied, "I love it. I have one condition though." Arizona arched her brow and asked, "What's that?" Callie smirked and replied, "The ocean is the color of your eyes." Arizona laughed and asked, "What is it with you and my eyes?" Callie reached for her hand, intertwined their fingers and replied, "From the moment I first saw you, they captivated me. I could always look into your eyes and see everything you were feeling. They calm me when I'm upset or nervous, they give me chills when you're turned on, they make me smile when I'm sad, they are mesmerizing, hypnotizing, and they are the only eyes I want to look into for the rest of my life. Unless, of course, our babies have the same eyes." Arizona was taken aback, she'd always been told she had beautiful eyes, especially by Callie, but never in such a way that made her want to cry. Shaking her head, she whispered, "Calliope Iphigenia Robbins-Torres that has to be one of the most beautiful things you've ever said to me." Callie smiled and replied, "It's true. I love your eyes, I love you." Arizona squeezed her hand and replied, "I love you too."
Once they were in the paint section of the large hardware store, both women were overwhelmed with the selection of colors, wall paper, and decorations containing their chosen theme. Flipping through a catalog of murals that could be printed on wallpaper, Callie turned the page and each of them gasped as they looked down at the image that nearly jumped off the page at them. Looking into each other's eyes, they smiled brightly and said at the same time, "That's the one." As they continued through the aisles, they saw more decals and decorations, discussed how they could use each one, and with a fully developed picture of what they wanted, returned to the paint section to pick out their colors. Taking a screenshot of an image they found on Pinterest that they would like for two of the walls, Callie sent the picture off to Marco and Miguel asking if they could or would be interested in painting that for them and what it would cost. While waiting for a reply, they strolled through the rest of the store and Arizona asked, "Should we get baby proofing stuff now or wait for a while?" Callie laughed at her wife's excitement and replied, "I think that's a purchase for next year around this time." Nodding her head in agreement, Arizona looked up and gasped when she saw the Christmas displays.
Callie felt herself being jerked forward, looked up to see where they were going, and muttered, "Oh boy!" She watched as Arizona walked through the aisles with an awestruck expression on her face, her mouth formed into an open smile, and her eyes twinkling just like their daughter's did. After deciding they'd rather truly leave the past in the past, with the exception of ornaments Sofia made for them, the two women jumped into the Christmas spirit and piled their cart with lights for both the tree and to hang on the outside of the house, a few ornaments, a tree stand, and after a great deal of debate, a 7 foot tall inflatable snowman for the front yard. Arizona smiled when Callie picked up a small rectangular box and slipped it into the cart. Shaking her head, the blonde declared, "Calliope, that's not necessary." Before she could explain why, she saw Callie's face fall in disappointment as she asked, "You don't…you don't want it?" Arizona looked down at the box containing the small shimmery pink Christmas tree, very much like the one Callie put in her office to cheer her up since they both had to work the first Christmas they were together. Sidling up to her wife, she caressed her face and corrected, "I didn't say I didn't want it. I said it wasn't necessary because I already have one." Callie's brow furrowed in confusion and Arizona teased, "I had this amazingly sweet girlfriend, ohhh about ten years ago who bought me one just like this and I put it up in my office every year." Callie looked up at her wife in awe and asked, "You do?" Arizona smiled, kissed her softly and confirmed, "I do. But now that you've found that, I realize I could definitely use a replacement." Callie's heart filled with warmth knowing Arizona kept that small tree all these years. Wrapping her arms around her waist, she kissed her nose and declared, "I think that is the sweetest thing I've ever heard of." Arizona rubbed their noses together and replied, "We are hopeless, you know that right?" Callie shrugged and declared, "As long as I'm hopeless with you, nothing else matters."
Barely able to push the cart now, Callie stopped when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, read the text from both men, and relayed, "They said they'd be happy to do it and put up the wallpaper for us. They also said they'd pick up the paint and include it in the cost rather than trying to tell us which colors to buy." Arizona let out a sigh of relief, not looking forward to putting up the wallpaper, looked at the cart, laughed and declared, "Well, that's a good thing since we don't really have room for paint now." Callie chuckled, kissed her wife on the cheek and replied, "Who cares, we are decorating our nursery and celebrating our first Christmas together as a family in several years. Both of which, I want to do right!" Arizona linked her arm through Callie's, nodded in agreement, and suggested, "Let's order the wallpaper then head to the mall." Callie did a little kick of excitement, let out her happy little squeal, and turned the cart back to the paint department.
As soon as the two women stepped into the baby store, they realized they had made a horrible mistake. Looking at her wife, Callie asked, "How are we not going to buy all the things?" Arizona shook her head, looked longingly at the baby clothes and bargained, "Okay, we pick out furniture and bedding, then we each get to pick out two outfits for each baby." Callie followed her wife's gaze to the adorable little baby clothes, tightened her grip on her hand, exhaled slowly and agreed, "Two outfits, right. We can do that." Arizona nodded with conviction, started walking toward the back of the store where the furniture was displayed, looked over her shoulder, sighed when she saw the cutest pair of baby bib overalls she'd ever seen in several different colors, yanked Callie's hand and pulled her into the clothing section. Callie sighed out, "Oh thank God, I wasn't going to make it." Arizona laughed, went straight to the items that caught her eye, found the newborn section, then chose a pair of pink, navy blue, and red, overalls and a matching onesie for each. Callie stood behind her and cooed, "Arizona, that's so adorable. Ooh look at this!" Callie pulled her to a rack of clothes that held her beloved sleep sacks, found three of the same size that were a sea green with little turtles and starfish all over them and immediately snatched them off the rack. For the next half hour, the two women tugged and pulled each other throughout the clothing section oohing and aahing over the little outfits. After putting her most recent choice in the cart, Arizona looked up at her wife, bit her bottom lip, and proclaimed, "I ah, I think we went over our limit." Callie looked into the cart piled with clothes and shrugged as she replied, "No one will know but us." Arizona laughed and the two finally headed to the furniture section.
While they were looking at the various cribs, Callie saw one that was nearly identical to the furniture that was currently in the guest suite. It was handcrafted and painted in the same whitewash as the bed and dressers she picked out for Arizona. Seeing that she'd lost Callie, Arizona turned around and her breath hitched when she saw what her wife was looking at. Quickly moving to her side, she watched as Callie took out her phone, opened her photos and found the picture she took of the guest suite when she first decorated it for Arizona. Comparing the images to the crib, she showed Arizona and declared, "Honey, they match perfectly and I think the dressers that are in there would be better, they're bigger and would hold more baby clothes even if we bought three of these matching dressers." Arizona flashed her dimples and asked, "Is this what you want?" Callie nodded and asked, "Is that…is it okay?" Arizona laughed and answered, "Baby, you picked that furniture because you know how much I love it. I think it fits perfectly with the theme and agree that what's in there now would be much better and give us more room." Without any further discussion, Callie pulled the little card from the plastic envelope to take it to the checkout counter and asked, "Should we take three or just have them ring it up three times?" Arizona reached out, grabbed two more and responded, "Let's take three just in case." The two continued to look around, found some organizers, a changing table, two rocking chairs, and eventually found themselves in the bedding department.
Arizona was looking at the different underwater themes when Callie returned with an extra cart. Callie noticed her wife's contemplative expression, worried that this was all too much for her, rubbed the back of her head, and asked nervously, "Are we um, are we going overboard?" Arizona turned to her, looked at their full cart, then down at her full belly and replied, "Honey, we really don't have a choice but to go overboard." Callie laughed and scolded, "Arizona, I'm being serious." The blonde looked at her wife, saw the uncertainty in her eyes, walked to her and linked their fingers then soothed, "Calliope, we have wanted more kids since Sofia was a baby. Both of us thought we lost that chance, but we are here now and expecting triplets. Whether we buy these things one at a time or all at once, we still have to buy them. We still need three cribs, we still need baby clothes, we still need blankets, changing tables, we need all of the things we are buying. The fact that we are doing it all at once may seem overwhelming, but to me, I see it as a blessing that we are able to do so. I know we are fortunate and don't have to worry about the things most parents do and for that, I will always be grateful. Even when we leave here, there are tons of things we still need and though we have plenty of family and friends who I am certain will fulfill those needs, these things, the first things, I want to do together." Callie closed her eyes, instantly feeling calm by her wife's words and her comforting tone. Nodding her head, she sighed, "I know you're right, I wanted to make sure…" Arizona tilted her head, smiled softly and replied, "I'm not overwhelmed Calliope. I'm excited, I'm over the moon happy, and we are feeding off of each other's excitement. Let's just…let's be happy." Callie laughed, pulled Arizona into a tight hug, then allowed herself to be tugged over to the bedding.
It was well past dinner time when the two arrived home. Arizona looked into the back of the car and asked, "Do we need to carry all of that in tonight?" Callie shook her head and answered, "No, there's nothing that can't wait. Besides, if we carry it in, we will want to put it away and I'm exhausted and starving and just want to eat and cuddle with my wife while watching mindless television." Arizona picked up the Chinese takeout bags, opened her car door and declared, "That sounds amazing." Once they were in the house, Callie let Tobin out of his cage and he ran straight to the patio door waiting to be let out. She bent down, patted his head and murmured, "You're such a good boy. So smart." She then opened the door, let him out, and joined her wife in their bedroom to change her clothes. Once they were both in their comfy sweats and Tobin was happily chomping on his own dinner, Callie and Arizona sat on the couch with their takeout, foregoing plates and eating directly from the containers while they watched one of their favorite cooking shows on television. Callie turned to Arizona, kissed her cheek and whispered, "Thank you for today. It was amazing." Arizona smiled and replied, "It was amazing and so much fun." Callie nodded in agreement and the two continued eating until they'd had enough, cuddled together on the couch and enjoyed their quiet evening alone.

"Is this absolutely necessary? I am perfectly capable of getting myself ready for this thing." Aria complained as she sat on the small vanity stool with Addison kneeling in front of her doing her makeup while Arizona stood behind her curling her hair. Callie pulled Aria's dress out of the garment bag, hung it on the door and snapped, "Yes, it is necessary because it is time you got your ass back out there and quit dressing all frumpy and…" "I do not dress frumpy!" Aria defended. Callie hissed, "You dress like…like a lawyer, all the time. Always in these power suits that hide your curves and tells anyone who is within ten feet of you that you are untouchable." Aria looked at her sister who was currently wearing black fitted trousers, a black silk button down shirt with gold and silver paisley designs, and a tie hanging loosely around her neck, lifted her hand and said, "You wear suits!" Arizona and Addie both glanced in Callie's direction and declared, "She looks hot!" Arizona narrowed her eyes at her friend who shrugged and defended, "Well she does! Would you rather I say your wife is frumpy?" Arizona huffed and muttered, "I'd rather you not comment on my wife at all." Aria huffed and exclaimed, "Hello, how is this different?"
Callie sighed, walked over to her sister and declared, "It's different because you are a beautiful woman Aria, inside and out. You've been burned and it hurt and I completely understand that. In fact, if there are any three people in the world who can relate to the things you've been through, you're looking at them. We've all had our hearts broken, taken time to lick our wounds and eventually came back fighting. Regardless of what you said before, you are a Torres…and an Ortiz and we fight. I just, we don't want to see you alone, we want to see you happy and the way your face looked when Maria was talking about Marco…" She stopped when she saw the glint in her sister's eyes and the small smile spread across her face, then pointed and continued, "That right there. That tells me you're not broken anymore. You're whole and your heart is ready." Arizona wrapped a strand of black hair around the curling iron, rolled it up, and added, "You're scared and that's okay. We will all be there with you and if you are uncomfortable, we will support you. But try, okay?" Aria sighed. She was happy Addison hadn't started on her makeup yet because she knew she was about to cry.
Taking the tissue her sister handed her, she looked up and admitted, "I forgot what it was like to have a sister, now I have two…" "Mmm hmm" Addison cleared her throat making Aria laugh and correct herself, "Sorry, now I have three and you're right, I know you're right. Okay, let's do this." Addison nodded, pushed Callie out of the way and commanded, "I need room to work." Callie looked on with pride as her best friend and her wife helped her sister get ready and she started to see the signs of the Aria she once knew come back to life. Once they were finished, Aria looked in the mirror and gasped, making the other three hold their breath in anticipation of her reaction. Turning her head, her lips bloomed into a smile nearly identical to her sister's and she claimed, "I look…" Callie finished, "Hot!" Arizona added, "Stunning!" Addie blurted, "Sexy!" When all three heads turned in her direction, she threw up her hands and defended, "I can admire a female body and I know a gorgeous woman when I see one. Geez." Aria muttered, "Or you spend too much time in this house." Callie and Arizona burst into laughter and they barely heard the doorbell ring until Sofia called out, "Moms, Kim is here to babysit. Can I let her in?" Arizona replied, "I'm coming sweetie, go ahead." Callie shoved the dress in her sister's hands and ordered, "Go get dressed, we need to go soon."
Maria and Miguel stood in the gallery talking to Marco about one of his paintings when his jaw went slack and he walked away without saying a word. Turning to see where he was going, Maria smirked and murmured, "She looks amazing!" Miguel furrowed his brow in confusion as he took in the woman who walked in with their friends, the woman who was now being approached by his brother, and asked, "Is that Aria?" Maria nodded her head and answered, "We did a little digging and discovered they have the hots for each other." Miguel started coughing and asked, "Are you seriously trying to set my brother up with Cal's sister?" Maria smiled, looked at her husband and replied, "Of course," then walked away to join their friends.
Callie and Arizona stood aside and watched as Marco walked up to Aria, lifted her hand to his lips, and whispered, "You look…gorgeous. I mean, you're always beautiful, but this, this dress, you are just…" He stopped when he realized he was rambling. Aria could feel the blush burning her cheeks, but Marco's words gave her a confidence she hadn't felt in years. Reaching out, she brushed imaginary lint from his lapels, straightened his tie and returned, "You look pretty handsome yourself." Arizona smirked and whispered, "Classic Torres flirt. Pretend to pick off lint, straighten a collar, or brush out a wrinkle." Callie snorted, "That's not a thing." Arizona raised her brow in disbelief and accused, "You used to do it all the time just to have an excuse to touch me." Callie smirked and replied, "Used to, key word." Arizona argued, "Used to, because now you don't need an excuse." She lifted her left hand, wiggled her ring finger and quipped, "Married, key word."
While they were arguing, Marco and Aria disappeared into the crowd. Though they weren't quite holding hands, they were walking close enough so their bodies brushed together. Addie laughed and declared, "I truly thought it would be harder than that." Maria nodded, "Me too. We were in the middle of a conversation when you all walked in and he just walked away without saying a word." Miguel shook his head, looked at Jake, and asked, "Would you like to join me at the bar?" Jake smiled and replied, "Yes please." Both men walked away, clearly over the matchmaking and gossiping. As the four women perused the gallery, Arizona turned the corner, lifted her hand to her mouth and gasped, "Oh wow! Come look at this." The other three rushed to her side expecting to see another beautiful abstract painting, but their jaws dropped when they looked at the large canvas in front of them. It was a beautiful scene of the sun setting on the ocean, the yellows, oranges, blues, and purples seemed to bleed into one another and in the corner of the painting was a figure of a woman, just a silhouette, but she was wearing a dress, carrying her heels in her hand, and her hair was blowing in the breeze. They were all thinking the same thing and it was confirmed when Arizona pointed to the name of the painting, and read, "Dreaming of Miami."
Arizona turned her head when Maria squealed, actually squealed, clapped her hand together, and exclaimed, "Oh we're going to be sisters." Addie looked at Arizona then at Maria and muttered, "Talk about spending too much time with someone." Callie laughed, looked at her friend's excitement, then laughed harder when her wife stared at Maria and grumbled, "Clearly we didn't think this shit through."
