Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Spark of War. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Avatar, Nick, Michael Dante DiMartino, and Bryan Konietzko do.

"The Fire Nation sends a child to face me…." The general hissed as he rose more boulders up into the air. "I would flee if I were you child, save yourself the embarrassment." The general stated to which Hao could only hum.

"You know for someone way older than me?" Hao asked as flames danced from his fingertips. "I expected someone who was a better leader. You tossed your men into the flames faster than anyone else… I'll give you the chance to surrender, it will save your troops." Hao added and cracked his fingers.

Did Hao expect it to work? No, but offering mercy was something Hao often felt benefited someone, it was better than letting your soldiers mindlessly kill each other.

He was greeted by a boulder which he rolled to the side from, pausing only to look around. Hao quickly blasted the next into pebbles with a massive fireball. Hao knew more than to underestimate the man.

However? He was no stranger to psychological warfare.

"Is that the BEST you're capable of?" Hao questioned and flipped into the air, throwing a wave of flames at the general. "I take back what I said a few minutes ago… If your THIS bad at fighting? I'd hide behind my troops as well." Hao stated with a confident smirk.

The general growled and tossed a wave of dirt at Hao with a punch.

(With Ty Lee.)

Ty Lee balanced upside down as she paused to make sure her feet would find purchase when she somersaulted down. She hummed and quickly flipped into the air, landing on her feet in a crouch as she did so.

"I cannot believe you allowed that bird around here." Ty Lee heard to which she blew her ponytail out of her face. "General or not? It does not mean we allow animals within the building, Ms." Ty Lee heard from her boss as she simply brushed off her clothes.

"You mean Pao?" Ty Lee asked as she hummed and walked back to get ready for her next show. "He comes back to get the tickets I give him and bring him to Hao. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that." Ty Lee stated while running a brush through her hair.

She guessed the general was probably busy. Ty Lee found it funny that someone her age had managed to gain a rank so high, but then again? Hao was good at being a soldier, he was rather talented in terms of combat and leadership.

She pondered when she'd see him again…

(With Hao)

Hao ducked under a boulder only to feel another rock hit him in the chest. He was flung backwards but quickly recovered, blasting flames behind him to stop himself from sliding backwards anymore.

"I'll tear you apart, you spoiled brat!" The General added as Hao hummed and dusted off his clothes.

"Really? You and what army?" Hao childishly mocked and rushed the general again. "The one busy fighting mine? Because your too much of a pushover to try and fight me, to begin with?" Hao questioned and somersaulted backwards into a crouch as he hummed to himself.

"I'll smash you to paste." The general hissed before throwing a massive boulder at Hao which he slid under.

Hao launched into a flame kick which knocked the general back. The man slid backwards before he turned and launched another rock as Hao tossed a fireball that almost connected with him.

The rock caught Hao in the leg, throwing him to the ground. He grunted and rubbed at the ache with a hiss as he sighed and cursed under his breath.

"This is going to be harder than I thought," Hao muttered to himself as he shook his head.

He guessed that the general was becoming cocky and arrogant. He was prideful enough to fall for Hao's obvious taunt when it came down to it. That showed him it was worth it to attempt to try it still, despite the aftereffects.

'Yeah, I have somewhat of a plan, just need to put it together and hope it works.' Hao thought to himself in time to roll to the side.

The Earthbending general was a threat, but he was a threat that Hao guessed wasn't used to close range. If he could close the distance? He could take the person down.

"C'mon, you little brat, where's all your big talk now?" The general asked, walking towards Hao who grunted.

His leg hurt, it would be a while for that to heal, but he could wait… And he didn't need his legs for what he planned to do.

"Don't you have some big victory speech?" Hao asked, gazing at the general as he put pressure on his good knee. "Some big heroic speech about how the fire nation is rubbish? About how we're going to lose and all that?" Hao asked while he grunted and hummed.

Hao knew for a fact that he could only ponder what would do next. He had ONE shot at ending this in one go, he wasn't going to screw this up if he had anything to say about it.

"No, I think I'll just bring you before the earth kingdom." Hao heard the general state while he readied a giant rock to throw at him. "Let them see the fire nation like I do, weak… Helpless before people who can put up a fight." Hao heard from the general.

'More like people who love to run their blasted mouths off.' Hao thought to himself and nodded.

He turned to start putting his hands up before humming as he launched a fireball at the man's foot. He went to dodge it before Hao blasted his other foot, causing the rock to slam into the man's head.

The general grunted before he blinked and collapsed to the floor. He shook his head and grunted as he climbed to his feet. He could feel pain lance up and down his limbs as he gazed at the battlefield around him.

"Hopefully this gets his army to back down when I go back to fight," Hao stated while shaking his head.

That was wishful thinking, too wishful. His army would probably still be fighting the soldiers the more he thought about it. The Earth Kingdom was NOTHING if not persistent when he considered the idea.

But he could hope… If nothing else? He could pray that it was over by then and he DIDN'T have anything to worry about once more.

Hao dragged himself back to camp, eager to get a medic to look at his bum leg.
