Helpful Hybrid (Klatherine)

Summary: When Kat died a demon in VD S8, she was sent to a prison world, which is where supernatural beings now go that didn't find peace or have unfinished business. When Klaus dies in Originals S5, he ends up there. When he finds her injured from a vampire and wolf attack, will he save her? Can he save her?

It was a dismal night, as she sat against a tree, injured from some creatures in this place. It seemed to be a prison world, but it was where the dead ended up at now. At least, ones that were supernatural. It was like you were alive again here, though. She'd been here for a long while.

Klaus was walking around this place, when he smelled the familiar scent. His former doppelganger was here and injured. He'd just arrived not long ago, but already figured out that this was like a purgatory prison world. And though in the past he probably would've ignored an injured Katerina, he wouldn't now. Hope had changed him. Plus, Elijah wasn't here to save her this time. Now, he had to. After all, no matter who Elijah loved, he'd always save Katerina. Besides, Klaus knew it was the right thing to do.

When he found her, she was sitting against a tree, injured, obviously having lost a lot of blood. There was a vampire approaching her, so he grabbed and tossed him half a distance away.

"This one's off the menu, so I suggest you leave now if you value your life," he threatened, standing between them.

The vampire knew who he was, so he fled.

Klaus turned his attention to Katerina, blurring over to her. He then knelt in front of her. It looked like she'd been attacked by a vampire and werewolf. He saw a bite on the side of her neck, as well as claw marks. And she had a bitten leg.

He rested a hand on the side of her face.

"Katerina, luv," he called. "Can you hear me, sweetheart?"

He took his hand away, not getting an answer. He wasn't sure whether to try blood though, since she couldn't digest it when she'd been dying of old age. So, for the time being, he took her jacket gently off, using it to tie around her leg. Then he took his off, using it to apply pressure to her vampire bite.

"I need you to wake up, Katerina. I need your help," he called, hoping he could get her to wake up. He wasn't like others. He wouldn't enter her head uninvited. Like Elijah in some ways, he valued privacy. However, looking at her, he knew he had to do something. If not, she was going to die here. That was something he didn't want for her. So, after a few moments of thinking it over, he gently pulled her into his arms, crook of his arm supporting her head, a hand still keeping pressure on her bite. He then bit his wrist, putting it to her lips, making his hybrid blood go down her throat, hoping it would save her. She was pale from blood loss with shallow breathing, after all. And he wasn't a witch or Rebekah. He couldn't medically help her, nor magically heal her.

"Stay with me, Katerina. I'm gonna get you out of here. I just need you to do one thing for me, and keep breathing."

After a few minutes or so, her wounds healed, which relieved him, and he took his wrist away. He then gently picked her up, getting to his feet, and went looking for a way out of there.

When he found a vacant cabin, instead of a way out, he entered, closing the door behind himself. Then he gently layed her down on the bed, before sitting on her bedside, watching over her. It seemed now that she could digest his blood, but he was a hybrid. They still didn't know about vampire blood. Maybe when she'd been dying, all she'd needed was hybrid blood.

She slowly began to wake up. She still felt weak, but realized that she was healed. Then, noticing Klaus, she figured he'd died and had saved her. Something he wouldn't have done in the past.

"Good news, luv. You can digest at least my blood. However, try not to almost get killed next time," he told her, before she could say anything.

"Good to know," she weakly replied.

"How do you feel?" he questioned her.

"Weak. When we get out, I'm gonna need a blood transfusion," she answered and informed him. "Thank you, though."

"You're welcome, luv."

When they eventually got out with the help of an ascendant, they were in New Orleans. So, when they ended up there, she got the blood transfusion done. Then she was good as new, minus the fact that she was human again. Because of the six months that they'd been in there together though, they'd become quite close, setting aside their former feelings for one another. They'd opened a new chapter. Now, he was willing to do anything to protect her from anyone and anything.
