Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Spark of War. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Avatar, Nick, Michael Dante DiMartino, and Bryan Konietzko do.

Ty Lee flipped into the air and seemed to balance on the tips of her toes. It had become a lot harder to handle these somersaults if she was honest.

The fact that she hadn't practiced in a long time bothered her, but it simply pushed her to do better than she had been doing at the time. The fact that she had been pushed to these limits. It had been so long before she had practiced to this degree.

"Reminds me of when I had run away from home and met Hao. I don't remember when that had been, to be honest." Ty Lee stated before she flipped to her feet and landed on her hands and then flipped herself onto her fingers.

She landed in a crouch as she recalled the memory. One which hadn't exactly become a hard thing to fathom. It had been honestly a much harder pill to swallow that she had abandoned her home at one point or another. They hadn't taken it well, but it had been her choice and she had wished it.

The 18-year-old girl had become far more interested in what awaited her as she ran down the street. It had become odd as she rushed down the street and paused only to look over her shoulder. The wind whipped at her as she seemed to consider the fact that it had been honestly a not well thought out plan… But there was no turning back. This had become the hardest pill to swallow at the time.

There was a rustle of bushes that made her aware of movement behind her. She held up a pair of fingers before peeking over her shoulder at the figure. There were guards that her father had sent after her. It had made her good enough to leap over the wall and rest a hand upon the wall before she seemed to regard the people behind her.

She flipped and kicked off the wall, somersaulting into the air with interest as to why her father had sent so many soldiers to come after her. Sure, she was a noble or had been still, but her status was dying slowly if not entirely in a wave of fire and dust which had made her feel as if she had been honestly ready to scream about it. The sooner this was all said and done? The sooner they could call this off.

"Where is she? We need to find her or the lord will have our head on a pike before the day is said and done." The guard over the wall shouted as she sighed.

"Can't go back, their auras are too grey. I need to stop reading so many books." Ty Lee said before she continued running forward and brushing off her coat.

The backpack that was slung across her shoulders almost cut into her back. She had become far too interested in what they had brought to this place and what it had meant. She couldn't head back now as of the moment, too much on the line.

So, she went forward, simple as that. She charged forward into the depths of the dead of night. Only hushed footsteps were left in her wake. It became harder and harder for her to fathom the choice without thinking of looking back. She didn't for fear of second-guessing herself.

"Ms. Lee? You need to come back, please!" She heard as she rolled her eyes. "There's an accident, this is all a misunderstanding!" She heard as she sighed.

Even for one second and she came back. She didn't want to be part of the herd, a piece of a collection where nobody was unique, there was no family where she wanted to be when it came down to it.

She had a choice, one better than this, probably with enough time and effort, she'd crack their code. Ty Lee was by no means super intelligent, but she wasn't going to be interested in what her friends and family thought. She had come to this choice by herself, sooner or later.

There were more times she needed to dwell on these issues. It became a lot harder for her to think of a better idea when she considered it. A lot harder for her to consider her options when there was none where this ended peacefully it wasn't going to end well and she became confident there'd be problems.

"Nope." Ty Lee stated before she frowned to herself. "What happens next is going to be harder. I need to keep going. I can't let my aura get greyer." Ty Lee stated before she flipped into a crouch and ran forward.

She didn't know how long she ran. Perhaps a few minutes, a few hours. It made little difference to her as she ran. Ty Lee only risked a few glances behind her as she did so, too frenzied to find this not odd when it came down to it. She had a lot more pressing concerns than simply being seen as a coward and a run away from a life of wealth and luxury. This was honestly a lot harder for her to seem when it came down to it.

There was another sound as she slowed down. Weapons, steel swords whirling through the air. Arrows being loosened from their straps and into the wall. Finally? She heard the crackling of flames. Firebender, the backbone of the Fire Nation military, is the thing that projected their power into other worlds. It had become a lot more interesting to her now. She always questioned how their auras stayed so red when they were around something that consumed each and all things around them. It was pretty in a way that only seemed to become odder the more it seemed to be.

Ty Lee looked over the wooden fence. She watched what appeared to be dozens if not hundreds of soldiers. She couldn't see the entire camp, only those who were surrounded by torches and lanterns which they appeared to be pulling from to fuel their attacks. Ty Lee seemed to be mesmerized by their fires which blazed brilliantly in the moonlight. They tried to invest in what to do more at the second.

"MORE!" She heard someone roar as she rolled to the side out of sight. "MORE! You are the blade of the Fire Nation. You must give me all you had at the moment and then give me more. There will be more trials in combat for what to happen to it." Ty Lee heard before she ducked down.

There were more soldiers, a lot more. Many of them appeared to be training for war. It surprised her, there were many wars when it came down to it. Ty Lee which she appeared to duck down at the moment. She was going to be interested in what they were doing.

"Corporal Hao, you're up. Show the unit what you can do." She heard as she blinked. "Now, show what you can do at the moment. We need to properly see what each soldier in the fire nation is here for." She heard as she blinked before she seemed to be interested in what to do next.

Ty Lee stared before she seemed to question what to do next as it became harder for what to do next. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, this was honestly interesting to her at the moment.

The soldier in question stepped forward, interested in what to say next. It had become clear that there was something on her plate after this, something that could and would be filled if given enough time and effort on her part.

Still? She watched as he seemed to question what to do next. He tilted his head at her and glanced around. There was honestly something that was coming at the second. She watched a boy who seemed to be her age. Their head peeked out from under the collar of their uniform which seemed to be a lot heavier on the second.

It seemed to be honestly curious when it came down to it. She watched as he started to throw some fireballs around, fire danced from his fingers as he launched a wave of flames towards the torch which flared up as it seemed to dance around the room.

She walked around and was curious about what to do when it came down to it. She flipped onto the top of the wall before she seemed to tilt her head at the action. She watched as he was ushered back into place and sighed as she tapped her fingers around and questioned what happened to the rest of the soldiers here. All of them seemed like they were going to be pushed into another battlefield and thrown for a loop on another battlefield before focusing once more. There was so much going on at the moment that she didn't know what was going to happen if she stayed at all. The tension was all over the place in her mind.

She rubbed at her temples while she chased after him. There were simply too many questions she wished to ask the soldier for her to let the cute one escape at the time. it had been a lot cooler than she expected.

She flipped onto the next part of the arena and stared at the others and glanced around the edges of the base. She had been curious why she liked this soldier, wondering what had been bringing her to this place, why she couldn't get this out of her head. Ty Lee hummed as she looked to do at the second.

The soldiers were sent marching along the area as she hummed and looked around. There were a lot more soldiers than she expected, organized into rows of a dozen or such. She counted at least 100 here and she thought might have been more. The base had to be one of the dozens and it had to house more warriors.

Ty Lee glanced down at the area, hopeful that she'd find something she wanted here. She didn't know what to think of the army, she wasn't a soldier and she didn't know a lot about fighting skills at the time.

"Man, there's a lot more soldiers here than I expected. Man, I didn't think there were this many cuties in the army." Ty Lee stated before she cracked her fingers and perched on the wall, staring down at them with a lot more curiosity.

She readied herself on the edge of the wall as she prepared for a leap down and into the middle of the courtyard. She felt her toes curl as she looked around and checked to see if there were any real guards here. There was a lot more she wanted to see.

This was confusing when it came to her at the time. this had been a rather weird day for her. Then again? She hadn't exactly been running around this commonly. She had usually been at home practicing.

The soldier from before seemed to glance at her once more. She hummed and tilted her head before he blinked and looked away. The soldier seemed more weirded out by what he had seen at the time. Ty Lee offered a wave and a smile before flipping onto another beam.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will both Ty Lee and Hao meeting as kids and set up their growing friendship. I also want to point out that their ages were altered in this so it works more. The next chapter is 900-6500 words at the moment and will be delayed at the moment. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
