Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Spark of War. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Avatar, Nick, Michael Dante DiMartino, and Bryan Konietzko do.
Hao had been too interested in what was to come back. This had come down to simple semantics. He looked at her before he glanced up at her.
He had become a simple soldier while he seemed to look at the second. He glanced up at the girl who seemed to stare back at him in return. There had been something about her that just felt… Odd. It had become questioned when it came down to it. Hao seemed as if he wanted to freak out. He had been ready for this, ready for what was to come next?
The sooner he seemed to glance around before she leaped down towards him. She looked as if she was dancing in the air, interested in what was coming. What would come next at the moment? That was his honest question at the time and it seemed as if he hadn't been the only one when this ended.
She landed in front of him and made him blink. Maybe it was the fact that he was simply finding it odd that someone like her had come here, maybe it was due to the weird pink outfit she had been so odd and yet weird when it came to it and he seemed as if he had been interested in what to do when their tactics.
He had been only questions about what was to come. She smiled at him with a tilt of her head before he cleared his throat. He was going to still wonder what had brought her here.
"Hi." The girl said with a wave as he tilted his head and seemed to look around once more. "Sorry, I'm kinda unused to this when it comes to talking. Not excited for someone's aura at first." She added before he sighed to it.
He frowned, but he said nothing to question what to do next. There was a lot more interest before he frowned as of the second to do second. He was honestly happy as of the second. He tilted his head before he smiled at himself.
She smiled and leaned on the wall behind him. He said nothing for a few seconds as he started to question what to second at the time. this was going to be interesting and somehow, he knew it as of now.
She didn't seem hostile so he ruled out that she was a spy or something. Her clothing also seemed to be off Fire Nation style which meant that as of the time she was probably one of them.
"Are you ok?" He questioned before he tilted his head. "I'm sorry, I'm not used to talking to someone who isn't my commander. I'm Hao, what about you?" He questioned before smiling awkwardly at her.
It'd be a lot less interesting if she hadn't tried this. He had been caught off guard before now, but she was honestly the most curious person he had met so far.
He watched as she bowed, curtsying as she smiled at him before she straightened up for a second. She cleared her throat before she hummed and started to speak.
"I'm Ty Lee. Sorry, I looked at the base before I dropped in." Ty Lee said with a smile at her and looked around before she hummed at the second.
Hao glanced around the room. He hadn't expected her to come charging in as if she was some Komodo Rhino. It made him both a bit scared and a bit interested in what she was going to do next.
"Ty Lee?" Hao questioned before he hummed and tapped at his lips. "Sorry, I've never heard of that name. You're a new soldier or something? Those types of acrobatics aren't something that I've seen around the base that often." Hao said while he rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"No, not really. I kinda ran away from home." Ty Lee said before Hao frowned and looked down at her. "No, not anything dangerous. There's a lot more to that story than what I'm telling you at the second." Ty Lee said as she sighed and started to glance around before she hummed to herself.
"That's… Ok?" Hao questioned before he started to ponder to himself. "There's a lot I can't explain either, one more thing isn't going to stop me from asking questions, but I'll take your word for it… For now, I guess..." Hao said while he pondered what to say in response.
Hao was honestly curious as to what to say before he decided it was better to say nothing. Ty Lee smiled and made him just as nervous as he was shy in general. This hadn't made him too shy, but it was still something new. He liked new things, they were almost always the most curious things in the entire world and he was honestly pondering if she had broken into the base just to see him. It'd be a LOT more shocking if that was in any way true as of any real reason, he doubted it to a degree at the time.
Still? She had surprised him and made him curious, it wasn't like he couldn't say or voice his surprise and interest in what she had done. She wasn't exactly the most dangerous-looking of people when he considered it as of the moment.
He sighed and looked around before he tapped on his arms as if he tried to find the words for what to say in this situation. It had been a rather curious one as well when it came down to it. Still? There was so much he didn't know nor wish to know at the moment, nor had he wished to know for anything shape or form.
Hao cleared his throat for a moment before he started to choose his words and pondered what the best thing to say or do was.
Ty Lee for the most part seemed to brace on her tiptoes at him. she looked at him with a tilted head before she flipped onto the wall, using it as a springboard. The young woman balanced on her tiptoes before she leaped into the air and gripped a low hanging beam. She hung upside down, her face only a few centimeters from his face to where her braid brushed against his face. She smiled before tilting her head.
Hao laughed and clapped at it. He could tell she wasn't a soldier, none of the soldiers, even with years at the academy knew how to perform acrobatics. Nor would there be any real room for something like this if she was to be there.
Ty Lee laughed before she held out her hands, reaching towards his face before he hummed and tilted his head to the side as he seemed to wait for her to make a move that couldn't properly be countered. She hummed and took a deep breath.
"Hey, want to come up here?" Ty Lee questioned as she tilted her head to the side before, she hummed as he did so. "Might need to drop the armor, though. I don't know if can lift with someone with armor before now." Ty Lee stated before she tilted her head before she hummed.
"Uh, won't you drop me?" Hao questioned before he hummed to himself before he glanced around before he tilted his head.
Still? It was going to be interesting what to do. She had been hopeful as to what to do next. He was a lot more curious as to what to do next. He hummed before he glanced around. For a second, he paused only to reach down and slowly remove the upper piece of his armor. The lower piece was easier since he realized the tunic… One which all soldiers of the fire nation wore under their armor, had been fitted for it… Not that he had removed it often.
"Nope, I can swing someone heavier than me, want to try?" Ty Lee asked as Hao hummed before he tapped on his arms.
"Jump?" Hao asked before she nodded. "He, k… Uh. Just give me a second to try it when it comes down to it." Hao stated before he seemed to question what to do.
He mentally questioned before he tilted his head to the side before, he decided to go for it. What had he to lose anyway? Slamming into the ground? The armor wasn't even that heavy, not compared to the heavier version which was fielded by officers. It was a lot more surprising than this had been when it came down to it. He had been a lot more curious as of the second. It'd be a lot more interesting as of the time.
He took a few steps back before he rushed forward, leaping up and into her waiting arms as she flipped and swung him upwards for a second before, she unwrapped her body. she felt her toes curl around the beam as she hummed and swung him upwards. She hummed as he flipped upwards before he hummed before she hummed. she realized she couldn't easily swing him onto the beam, there wasn't enough momentum.
She had an idea which had a bit… Risky. Still? it was either she tried that or she'd drop him and possibly shatter his back or at least bruise it. it'd be odd, but it had been something that needed to be done either way.
She let go for a second, her fingers slipping from his. He gasped in shock as he almost seemed to come crashing to the ground. Hao was terrified before he felt the air seem to whistle as Ty Lee leaped into the air and swung around the beam. In an instant, she had swung around the beam in a few seconds. She smiled as she reached out her legs as she would with the training she had gotten and seen at the circus. She wrapped her legs around his abdomen, locking her thighs and toes around the beam and his chest to hers as they were both locked under the beam. She hummed and reached up to her fingers, locking them with his around the beam so they would be double as secure to the beam as well. It'd be something fun if it wasn't to be for the fact that he was blushing which seemed to match her face as well.
There and watched as he was flipped upside down as he bent around the other side of the beam, pressing them together as she giggled, their faces only a few centimeters apart. It was a lot more awake than she had seen from the Circus. Then again? The cirrus people had been in love she thought, so they didn't have a problem with that she believed. It'd be a lot odder if not for the idea she had so much on her mind.
"Sorry, I kinda hadn't done this often. I'm not used to lifting someone… I didn't think I could throw you onto the beam, so I did what I think they called a Tetra Tangle?" Ty Lee said before she hummed. "So, uh… I'm Ty Lee. Hi." Ty Lee said while trying her best not to drop the boy.
Or about the fact the only reason they weren't falling about 12 feet was that she had trapped both of them to a beam.
"Hao." The boy stated as his fear and shock seemed to give way to surprise. "Do you usually toss people into the air like this? You are not Fire Nation Military. They don't let people have fun like this, not from what I hear at least." Ty Lee heard as she hummed.
