A/N

Hello everyone! Thank you for your continued patience as I publish sporadically over this week. I understand it is a bit annoying to have to wait for new content in your favorite stories, and even to wait for new content to all together be published, but please go easy on me, things are very insane between my irl life and my mental capacity and inspiration to write ;;

Next up on publication is Protector. I was already about a fifth of the way done with the seventh chapter, however I'm in a bit of a funk with it right now, so I'm stopping to work on this. There will be an update on what's next in that as well.

I also have an update on new content! Given that I am struggling a bit with the old content, expect any of the following soon!

A HTTYD fic

A Harry Potter fic

The remake of "Jackson" complete with new title and icon

The sequel to Raised Jurassic

Q/A Time!

Are Grace and Pam in a relationship? Not as of yet! Will one happen in the future? Very likely!

Is Grace a lesbian? She's actually a bi-polysexual! Ie a bisexual polysexual. I would suggest reading up more on all the different spectrums of LGBTQIA+.

What are these first chapters based off? It's based off of a villain from the show "Raising Dion" on Netflix. A lot of the plot points of the show aren't found here, just the basic evil storm idea. Feel free to watch the show, it's really good!

When will Talí finally come into play? It will be a few chapters. We're just worldbuilding right now and explaining why Talí exists, and why she goes through everything she does.

Who is Grace going to summon? Is it Loki? ;D. I know Loki seems to be one of my favorites from the MCU, for good reason. And Loki will be making an appearance much later in this fic. However, he is not the summoned god in question. No spoilers ;)

Is this Pamela based on Doctor Pamela Isley from DC, aka Poison Ivy? I did take the first name from her, but as for any other resemblance, she has red hair and no green skin. Anything else is spoilers.

WHERE IS THE WINGED HORSE, I DEMAND WINGED HORSE. Well _jen_xox_,I have one thing to say to you. SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Okay, Q/A over. Comment any questions you have on the chapter and/or fic, and I'll get to them in the next update! 3

Chapter 3

Grace locked the metal plate in over the window. Pam was running around downstairs, grabbing everything not tied or bolted down to the ground or walls or balcony roving and desperately throwing it all into the house.

Grace went down the stairs as fast as she could without tripping.

"Grace, did you secure all the upstairs windows?"

"Yes! What's our eta for the storm?"

The sound of running stopped for a minute, then Pam called back, "Best guess is thirty minutes before the outer fringes reach us at current growth rate and wind speed! But this type of storm cell has been known to pop up and vanish randomly."

"Got it! I'll secure the lower windows and make sure the cameras and sensors are operational and secure!"

"I'll finish moving everything in and set up all the mobile sensors!"

"Don't forget the LIDAR and SODAR balls are in the shed!"

The front door opened, "Do we need to secure the shed?"

"It's already storm certified, we should be fine, just make sure the latch is down!"

"Got it!"

The front door slammed behind Pam, thunder rumbling softly. She looked out the window on the bottom floor. The storm was far, but coming fast. It seemed like the lightning was almost continuous.

This storm was massive, and extremely dangerous. It may have taken months to get to this point, but now all their waiting, all the prep, all of it was going to be worth it finally.

She finished securing each of the bottom floor windows with their metal sheet, screwing each into place.

The radio attached to the belt on her hip started buzzing, "Grace, can you hear me, over."

She grabbed it and pressed a button as she walked to the office, "I've got you Pam, over"

"What's the status of the sensors and cameras? Over."

Grace sighed as she opened the door with her hip, "I'm checking it now Pam, and saying over at the end of each message is a waste of time."

"Gracie-bear, it's a time honored tradition! Over."

Grace rolled her eyes, tapping a few keys on the keyboard, checking each screen on the walls.

"Right, all sensors and cameras are reading as operational. The barometer is reading massive drops of pressure. Did you get the LIDAR and SODAR set up?"

"You didn't say over there, over."

She groaned, then pressed the button again, "Pamela. Answer the damn question."

"Ugh, fine. I have the containers set up, but there's a problem with the roof latch on the LIDAR holder. I think it's rusted shut, I can't move it at all."

"Alright. I'm going to start the launch program for the weather balloon. Run a check on the outside of the manor to make sure everything is done and locked up tight."

"Grace, be careful, the winds are picking up out here."

Thunder boomed again, rattling the windows and their protective sheets.

"Don't worry Pam, I'll be in and out before the rain even starts."

She rehooked the radio to her side and ran outside. The LIDAR and SODAR were sitting next to each other in the middle of the clearing. Grace raised her arm to shield her eyes as the wind picked up. The trees were shaking violently in the wind, and already leaves and some fronds from the palms were flying around or dancing on the ground in circles.

She whacked the latch to the LIDAR. Definitely rusted shut. Damn this South Cali humidity and the constant fog. The heat did them no favors either. She kept whacking it, the sound getting drowned out by the constant rumbling of the thunder.

The radio buzzed against her hip, Pam's yelling drowned out by the wind. Just a little more, the latch was starting to wiggle.

A huge raindrop landed on her hand, then another, and another, and the downpour started. Grace narrowed her eyes, trying to keep the water out of them. Just a little more, she was almost there. She had to get this open, or all this time would have been for nothing.

The latch clicked right as something grabbed her shoulder. Grace jumped, wincing as she cut her hand on one of the sharp edges of the hatch. Pam was grabbing her shoulder, pushing her soaked hair from her face.

"Grace, we need to move NOW, the storm-!"

Thunder cracked almost right above them. They looked up at the sky, the clouds were so dark and grey they could have passed for black. The clouds were swirling.

"Pam, that spiral formation-"

"I know, MOVE!"

The two started running for the front door, the thunder rumbles so prevalent it could be felt in their sternums. Grace felt the air leave her lungs as she tripped over an exposed tree root, falling into the mud.

Pam knelt down to help her, but as she did, Grace saw the storm behind her. The lightning was continuous now, with strikes reaching the ground in the same place almost constantly. A scientific impossibility as far as was known.

The pattern of the lightning was interesting too. It almost looked like a humanoid figure. A figure walking towards them. Which was impossible. Lightning wasn't sentient, and neither were storms. It was just a trick of the light.

Pam looked behind her, seeming to go paler than she already was, "That lighting-"

"Pam, come on, we have to get inside-"

The rain started to lessen around them, the temperature dropping. Grace grabbed her head with a groan as her ears popped and head throbbed from the sudden massive pressure drop. They were in the eye of the storm.

Pam grabbed Grace and dragged her to her feet to start running. The trash can suddenly came flying from out of nowhere, heading right for them.

The trash can was a few feet away from hitting them when a huge vine suddenly burst from the ground and grabbed the can, stopping it in its tracks.

Grace turned to look at Pam. she had one hand raised, her face strained, green blood leaking from her nose.

"P-Pam?"

"Get inside NOW Grace!"

She grabbed Grace's hand and started to run for the door, but just then, lightning struck right behind them with a huge whoosh of wind, lighting the area up in hundreds of colors.

She turned, and a man with dark hair now sticking to his head from the rain, and clothes that looked like it belonged to a renaissance faire was standing in front of them. The lightning… it was definitely a figure, some sort of being, and it was reaching for them.

The man drew a sword and sliced at its hand thing, and lightning exploded around them, the figure disappearing.

When the spot disappeared from their eyes, the rain was lessening, the yard a mess, and the man was on his back in the clearing, covered in branches, unconscious.

"Pam, come on, we need to get him inside."

"Grace, are you INSANE?!"

She looked over her shoulder, grabbing his feet, "He just appeared from the storm, and somehow fought it. This whole situation is insane, but he's hurt, and we can't leave him here."

Pam sighed and walked over to help her.

"Can we… talk later?"

Grace focused on the man's boots, "Yeah. Let's."
