Chapter 27: Enemy of my Enemy
It had been months since the 'Viggo Fiasco', as the Thornston Twins have called, and the Riders had found no trace of the Dragon Hunters or the Dragon Eye. This concerned Hiccup and Hicca greatly, which was why, first thing in the morning when he was at the stables trying to get Toothless to wear his armor.
The Night Furies were very reluctant, no matter how many times they tried to persuade them. Eventually Midnight and Toothless had enough and began shaking their bodies and sending the different armor parts scattering across the floor.
"Oh, come on, guys, please work with us here, please?" Hiccup begged.
"You both know that these will protect you two if we run into trouble." Hicca added.
It took some effort, but eventually Hiccup and Hicca managed to lead Toothless and Midnight to the door trying to be as stealthy as they could. They didn't want the others to know what they were planning, because he knew that they would try and stop them.
"We're almost out of here, so…" Hiccup said to the three as he opened the doors. "Toothless, Midnight, just…"
They then stopped dead in their tracks when they saw both Astrid and Henry standing there with their arms crossed and both with annoyed looks on their faces.
"Astrid! Henry! Hey! Hey." Hiccup nervously.
"So, what brings you two here so early in the morning?" Hicca asked innocently while their dragons looked at Astrid and Henry nervously as they looked away. "Are you just going for a test flight with Stormfly and Lockjaw? Yeah, well, same here"
"But me with Toothless and Midnight with Hicca, though, of course, because, Stormfly and Lockjaw, that would be, you know…" Hicca said nervously.
"Drop the act, you two. We know what you're both planning." Henry said with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't believe this," Astrid said, shaking her head. "You two are going for a recon flight. By yourselves. With no support. No cover. We talked about this."
"And, not to mention you two are being stubborn about this." Henry added.
"We know." Hiccup said, raising a hand up calmly. "We just didn't wanna wake anybody. It's no big deal. Really."
"Yes, it is," Astrid argued, with her hands on her hips. "It's way too risky."
"She's right, you two know how dangerous it is." Henry said.
Hiccup and Hicca just stood there in silence.
Astrid sighed. "Guys, he's not out there. It's been months since the Viggo…"
"Fiasco?" The Haddock Twins offered as they walked ahead..
"I was going to say 'episode'." Astrid suggested..
"It's not like you could have stopped it. My crazy dad planned the whole thing out from the beginning when he thought of it like Maces and Talons." Henry added, knowing how smart his father is from time to time when it comes to Maces and Talons to plan his idea ahead.
"Yeah. We know. And it wasn't pretty when he took the Dragon Eye." Hicca said as she and Hiccup just placed the pieces of Toothless and Midnight's armors on the ground.
Astrid shook her head. "You two have to stop this, you're both gonna wear yourselvesf into the ground looking for this guy who doesn't want to be found."
"She's right, this sort of obsession only leads to either you or your dragons getting killed." Henry added.
"We're fine, guys. Really," Hiccup assured.
"Yeah, we made sure to take care of ourselves before our recon." Hicca added. "Besides, maybe Viggo isn't out there, but his Hunters are. If we just find one to question—"
"They won't tell either of you a thing." Astrid pointed out.
"She's right," Henry agreed.. "Trust me, they're more afraid of my father than they are of us and going without either of your armor is even more dangerous."
"Hey, don't blame us, blame these two," Hicca retorted gesturing to Toothless and Midnight, who looked at her in annoyance.
'Hey!' They growled.
"Don't give us that look. You two couldn't even keep your armor on when we tried to get them on you." Hicca pointed out.
"Yeah, you two are the ones who don't want to put them on." Hiccup added then looked at Astrid and Henry. "You two don't know if they won't tell us anyway."
Astrid and Henry looked at one another and they knew they couldn't convince the Haddock Twins out of this.
"Look, if you both are going, at least let us go with you guys." Astrid said.
"Fine," Hiccup groaned.
"Okay." Hicca groaned as well.
"Good. We'll get our dragons and we'll take off." Henry said.
Astrid and Henry then rushed into the stables, but instead waiting, the Haddock Twins then picked up Toothless and Midnight's armors and made their way to their dragons.
"Okay, bud." Hiccup to Toothless. "It's now or never."
"Come, Midnight. Put this on." Hicca said to Midnight.
However, Toothless and Midnight responded with a plasma blast knocking the pieces of their armors out of Hiccup and Hicca's hands.
"Really you two?" Hicca asked while giving the two Night Furies a look.
'We don't like wearing heavy metal.' Toothless grumbled as Midnight nodded her head in agreement as they turned away as the Haddock Twins sigh at their dragons.
(Linebreak)
After realizing that there was no way they could persuade the two Night Furies to wear the armor, they decided to leave it behind.
"When Astrid and Henry find out you two are not wearing your armors, I am not covering for you guys." Hiccup warned.
"Yeah, this is on both of you for not wearing protection." Hicca added.
'Fair enough.' Midnight warbled.
They then soared away from Dragon's Edge and no doubt left a very angry Astrid and Henry behind. The Haddock Twins knew they had to find a way to make it up to them once they returned, if they hoped to live through their anger. Though right at that very moment they were more preoccupied with flying than to worry about their angry friends.
"But, with all that armor on, would we be able to do this?" Hiccup asked.
He then released the tailfin, which was yellow and black with a pitch of Toothless on it. Then they soared across the sky spinning and then dive towards the ocean.
"Not gonna lie, having that armor really does slow us down." Hicca admittedly said.
"Man, that new tail is awesome/" said Hiccup looking back at the tailfin.
Hiccup laughed when Toothless spun on his back causing Hiccup to experience a face full of seawater, which actually woken even more.
"Wow, I owe you one," said Hiccup.
Hicca laughed before Midnight did the same to her. She came back up, spitting some water, "Very funny girl." Hicca said as Midnight gave a dragon-like chuckle, that's when they saw a lone ship in the water they recognised the Dragon Hunter ship.
"Gotcha," Hiccup said. He then looked down at Toothless, Hicca and Midnight. "Hey, bud, sis? Let's get in closer." He said.
"Good eye, bro." Hicca said before turning to Midnight. "Let's go, girl."
They then dive towards the ship, but to their surprise they find the ship in ruins. All the men were laid on the deck, and looked as if there was a massive battle and that the Hunters lost.
They then landed on the deck to inspect the damage and find any clue on what caused it. They saw no other bodies, it was possible they were attacked by pirates and even if they were they doubted that a bunch of pirates could ransack a Dragon Hunters vessel.
"Looks like a dragon might have got the best of them," Hiccup said.
"Maybe a dragon got loose or maybe some pirates raided them." Hicca theorizes.
Toothless and Midnight then growled, indicating that they wanted to leave and Hiccup rubbed Toothless' head. "Yeah, let's get out of here."
"Yeah, I have a bad feeling about this as well." Hicca said in agreement as she rubbed Midnight's head.
Then all of a sudden the Hunter got onto their feet and grabbed their bows and crossbows at the Haddock Twins and the Night Furies.
"What the—?" Hiccup gasped, realizing too late it was a trap.
"It's a trick!" Hicca yelled out.
"Sky, guys!" Hiccup called out.
Toothless and Midnight don't need to be told twice and took off into the air and at once the Hunters fired their arrows. They managed to dodge a few bolts and arrows, but one Hunter skilfully struck Toothless' tail.
At once Toothless went rigid and fell towards the ocean.
"Toothless!" Hiccup panicked. He struggled to keep them steady. "Come on, bud!"
"Hiccup!" Hicca yelled as she and Midnight flew to help them.
Fortunately, they were close by at an island and Hiccup desperately tried to guide Toothless there while feeling disoriented.
"An island! Just up ahead!" Hicca pointed.
"We can make that!" Hiccup yelled encouragingly.
'Toothless, please keep it together! Just a little bit longer!' Midnight roared out to her mate.
'I'm trying!' Toothless groaned as he tried to stay focused as he was on the verge of passing out.
Luckily they managed to fly over the coast just before Toothless began to descend, losing the feeling in his wings. Hiccup screamed as they crashed into the forest and crashed into the ground hard.
Hicca and Midnight landed as Hicca mounted off her dragon. "Hiccup! Toothless!" Hicca cried out as she and Midnight ran to them as Hicca came to her sister while Midnight came to her mate in concern.
Hiccup sat up and checked to see if he had all his pieces. "I'm okay, sis. I'm okay." He said as he was all right he and his sister rushed over to Toothless, who roared in agony as Midnight tried to comfort her mate.
"I gotcha, Toothless. We're right here," Hiccup assured.
'It's okay, Toothless. We're here.' Midnight cooed to her mate as she nuzzled Toothless at his side.
Hicca then made her way to the Hunter arrow, which was still wedged in Toothless' tail. "Let's get this out of you." She said, but the moment she touched it Toothless screeched in pain.
"Easy, bud. It's okay." Hiccup said as he gently rubbed his dragon as Midnight nuzzled him.
With one good pull Hicca managed to dislodge the arrow and Toothless winced in pain.
"I know, Dragon Root. We just gotta wait it out like what happened to Midnight last time." Hicca said. The three then took a good look at Toothless, who wasn't getting any better. "But that might take too long."
Hiccup then rushed over to the top of the hill and could see on the horizon that the Hunters' ship was sailing towards them.
"But we can't wait here. We gotta move Toothless somewhere else." Hiccup said
"Good idea, bro." Hicca said as she turned to her dragon. "Midnight, help us move Toothless somewhere safe." She said as Midnight nodded her head as she gently lifted Toothless on her back as she grunted a bit from his weight.
'Oh, you got to go on a diet, Toothless.' Midnight strained.
'Har har. I can still hear you.' Toothless moaned.
The Haddock Twins then lead the way while Midnight carried Toothless as she followed.
(Linebreak)
A few minutes later the Hunters landed on the island and set off into the forest hunting for the Dragon Riders and their Night Furies.
(Linebreak)
It took great effort, but Midnight managed to hold Toothless towards the cave their riders found that was big enough to hide in and shelter the four of them.
"Oh, we're so sorry, bud," Hiccup said to Toothless once they were inside and Midnight sat down next to her and their riders.
"We're so sorry we got us into this." Hicca added as she knelt down and took a good look at Toothless to be sure he's okay.
Toothless groaned. 'Not, your fault.'
"I know, bud." Hiccup said.
Hicca examined Toothless as she noticed something different. "Hiccup. Last time Midnight got shot with those dragon root arrows, she didn't react like this." She pointed out as Toothless moaned a bit. "I don't know why, but Toothless looked worse than Midnight when she was hit." She added.
"How can that be?" Hiccup asked in surprise.
"I don't know. Yet. But from the looks of things, he won't be flying or moving for a while." Hicca pointed out, since Toothless is too weak to even move.
Hiccup then heard voices and rushed to the cave's entrance and saw two Hunters making their approach towards them.
"Two hunters are coming this way." Hiccup said to Hicca as he gave an anxious look. "Oh, why didn't we listen?" He groaned as he cursed himself and his sister for not listening to Astrid and Henry. "Why didn't we—what is wrong with us?" He questioned.
"We were pretty stupid and stubborn to even listen to our friends' advice." Hicca sighs as she facepalms. "We should've waited for Henry and Astrid." She added.
Toothless groaned and began thrashing about.
Midnight came to her mate as she warbled to him. 'Take it easy., Toothless. You're hurt and weak and we got two hunters coming.' She warbled quietly as she tried to calm her mate down.
Hiccup rushed over to him. "Toothless, please." He said calmly.
"Calm down." Hicca added.
Toothless roared in pain. 'Why does it hurt so much?' He asked as he turned to Midnight. 'Was this what you felt when you had that arrow strike you?' He warbled.
'Last time, it only disoriented me from my flying. But you, nothing like this.' Midnight warbles in concern, seeing how Toothless' reaction is different from hers and is worried about him.
"Okay. Hicca, you stay here with Midnight and look after Toothless and keep quiet." Hiccup instructed, "I'm gonna buy some time, I'll be back for you. I promise."
"Be careful, we don't know who else is on this island." Hicca said, implying that there could be Wild Dragons somewhere.
"Don't worry. I will." Hiccup said as he left the cave as Toothless roared as Hicca and Midnight tried to calm him down as he watched helplessly as Hiccup began to cover the cave's entrance with foliage.
"Just take it easy, bud." Hicca comforted him.
(Linebreak)
Once Hiccup finished ranging the foliage so that the Hunters one spot the cave, he rushed to the nearest bush and hit it. He then noticed the two Hunters only a few yards away from the cave. Hiccup quickly picked up a stone and tossed it over their heads, creating noise and guiding the Hunters away from him.
Hiccup sighed and began to move, but then to his horror he stepped on a dry twig. He then turned nervously towards the Hunters, who turned around and spotted him instantly.
"There he is! Get him!" One of them yelled.
"After him!" yelled the other one.
Hiccup didn't stick around and ran as fast as he could away from the cave and the two Hunters followed him. He was so busy running that he didn't notice that one of the Hunters turned, no doubt to corner him.
As he ran he looked back and saw one of the Hunters approaching him fast and the moment he looked away he heard a noise. He turned and saw the Hunter unconscious, it was like someone had hit him on the back of the head.
"What the—?"
It was so preoccupied on the first Hunter that he didn't notice the second one was sneaking up behind him. Then suddenly he heard a noise and turned, but found nothing.
He decided there could be more of them and ran, but then he heard noise up ahead. He then quickly turned and heard behind a tree.
Seconds later the Captain and several Hunters appeared.
"You two, go that way." The Captain said while pointing.
Two of his Hunters nodded and walked in the direction he was pointing at. He then led his two remaining Hunters down another path.
Hiccup sighed with relief and sat down, hoping to catch his breath.
He didn't notice a hunter aiming a crossbow at him and was aiming the bolt directly at him. Then something hit the Hunter and Hiccup got up at the moment he heard a noise and ran as far as he could.
(Linebreak)
Elsewhere in the forest the Captain and more Hunters gathered around.
"We think they got away, sir." One of his lieutenants said.
"They didn't get away." The Captain said. "I saw the boy's Night Fury go down myself, and no way his fellow rider and her Night Fury could leave them behind." He added.
Hiccup was actually behind but eavesdropping on the Hunters conversation.
"Gather more men and double back." the Captain ordered. "And check the caves, We're not leaving until we find those Riders and those Night Furies." He added.
Once they left, Hiccup took that as his chance to meet back up with Toothless, Midnight and his sister, unaware that someone was covering his tracks with a tree branch.
(Linebreak)
Hiccup soon returned to the cave and once he was certain the foliage was still in place, he ran up to Toothless, who was still on the ground while Midnight and Hicca comforted him.
"Hey. How are you guys doing?" Hiccup asked them.
"Not good, bro. Toothless is still in no shape and now he's got a fever." Hicca said as Toothless only roared weakly.
Midnight roared quietly to her mate as she placed her wing over him. 'Please, Toothless, try to keep your voice down.' She pleaded to her mate
"You think you can stand up, bud? Hunters are coming." Hiccup asked as he then bent down and tried to assist Toothless. "Come on, let's try to get you up. What do you say, huh?"
Hiccup struggled to raise Toothless onto his feet and slowly guided him away. "Come on, no, no, it's okay," He said, preventing Toothless from toppling over. "I got you, Toothless. It's okay, bud." Toothless then toppled over as his mate came to him in worry. "Oh, come on." He groaned.
"Hiccup, Toothless can't even stand straight in his condition. He can barely move." Hicca pointed out.
"Which is not good since those Hunters are on their way here." Hiccup added. Think, Haddocks. Think." He said as he tried to think of an idea before turning to his sister. "Hicca, go back to the Edge, get the others, and tell them where we are while I try to hold them."
"Absolutely not!" Hicca said a bit too loudly as she covered her mouth and they turned to the entrance.
"Keep looking!" A voice outside yelled. "That Night Fury went down somewhere around here."
Hiccup and Hicca rested to the foliage and through the leaves the source of three Hunters making their way towards the cave.
Then Toothless groaned at once as the Haddock Twins and Midnight rushed over to him.
"No, no, no, Toothless! You gotta be quiet, bud!" Hiccup said as he tried his best to calm his dragon down.
"Toothless, hunters are right out there! Please keep your voice down if you can!" Hicca said as she gently rubbed Toothless.
Toothless then shrieking loudly, so loud that the Hunters outside could hear him.
"Hey, over there!" A Hunter's voice yelled.
The Haddock Twins heard the Hunters approaching the cave and knew they would find them. Hicca brought out her battle staff ready, before looking at Hiccup with a raised eyebrow since he didn't draw a weapon.
"Nice day to come without your shield, huh?" She asks rhetorically.
Hiccup cursed himself for not bringing any weapons like his sister did as he grabbed the only thing at hand, a rock.
"Okay. If they want you and Midnight, Toothless, they're gonna have to go through us." Hiccup said as he and Hicca took up a fighting stance.
Midnight then leapt forward with her wings spread and a plasma blast ready to fire.
Then suddenly, they heard strange noises outside, grunts and groans. It was as though there was some sort of fight outside.
"What?" Hiccup as he and his sister stared at the entrance.
"What's going on out there?" Hicca asked.
Then they saw someone moving the foliage away and prepared himself for a fight.
Then walking into the bright sunlight was someone he least expected, someone who is more dangerous than the Hunters. Someone who tried to kill them a dozen times.
"Hello, Hiccup and Hicca." Said the figure, it was Dagur the Deranged.
"Dagur?" The Haddock Twins stared in shock at Dagur, haven't seen him in months after the 'Viggo Fiasco'.
Dagur slowly approached them.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Hicca warned, pointing her staff at Dagur, she then looked to Midnight, who was ready for a fight. "Midnight!"
Midnight growled and then pounced on Dagur as she pinned him to the ground.
"Easy, Ms. Night Fury," Dagur said calmly. Midnight was about to attack but then Dagur tapped a sensitive part on her neck and she slumped down in bliss as Dagur got up.
The Haddock Twins looked in surprise that Dagur put Midnight to sleep with ease. Hicca swung her staff while Hiccup raised the rock in his hand, but Dagur simply sidestepped and dodged their attacks. "Hiccup! Hicca! I'm not here to hurt you two."
He then dodged another swing from Hicca as she grabbed her with one arm while Hiccup swung his hand with the rock and grasped Hiccup as well as he got the Haddock Twins in a firm hold.
"I'm here to help. Seriously, you both need to calm down." Dagur said to them in a non-surprising tone and dragged them outside.
Toothless tried to rise, but he was still too weak to help while Midnight was still asleep.
Once they were outside, Dagur tossed the Haddock Twins into the clearing. Hiccup and Hicca stood up at once and that's when they noticed the Hunters lane down on the ground unconscious.
They then turned to Dagur with a bewildered look. "You?" Hiccup started.
"Took out?" Hicca added.
"Plenty of time to answer all your questions later." Dagur said, chuckling nervously. "Right now, we need to move your dragons before these guys wake up. Or you can handle them yourself. Hmm?"
Hiccup and Hicca didn't like it, but he knew he had no choice.
"Well, in that case, help us wake up Midnight so we can move Toothless." Hicca said while keeping her guard up. "And no funny stuff."
"Of course, I wouldn't dream of it, sister." Dagur as he walked back inside.
"I'm not your sister." Hicca grumbled as she walked inside too as her brother followed.
(Linebreak)
Moments later, after getting Midnight up, The Haddock Twins and Dagur began helping Midnight carry Toothless while dragging him out of the forest. This had to be the weirdest day in Haddock Twins life and the two of them had a lot of them.
"Okay, keep it moving," Dagur groaned. "Amazing job, guys."
"Don't need the encouragements." Hiccup said in a dull tone.
"Which is coming from you is weird." Hicca added.
As they walked, Toothless snarled at Dagur while on top of Midnight as his mate snarled at him as well, and Hiccup and Hicca couldn't really blame them.
"Hi, there." Dagur said while smiling. Toothless then threw his head back in resentment as Midnight looked straight ahead so that she didn't have to look at his face. "Oh, come on. If I was gonna harm you guys, don't you think I would've done it by now?"
"I don't know," said Hiccup honestly. "You're pretty crafty."
"And very unpredictable." Hicca added.
Dagur blinked. "Crafty. Unpredictable. Thank you, Hiccup and Hicca. I appreciate the kind words," he smiled. He then gave them a curious look. "They were kind, right?"
Hiccup shook his head. "You are so weird."
"And confusing." Hicca added.
Dagur then drew a dagger and tossed it. It missed Hiccup's head by inches and at first Hiccup and Hicca thought it was one of his crazy moments. Then they heard a sound of a mechanism and turned round to find a dragon trap not too far away.
"Whoa." Hicca said in surprise as she and Hiccup then turned to Dagur.
"Thanks." Hiccup said.
"You're welcome," Dagur smiled.
They then continue helping Midnight carry Toothless through the forest.
"Dragons are a little heavier than they look, even with the added weight while carrying one another." Dagur commented with a strain.
Midnight whipped her head at Dagur, giving him a warning growl, 'Watch it pal.'
"No offense girl." Dagur said quickly.
(Linebreak)
They kept on walking for hours, though Hiccup and Hicca had no idea where they were going. They had to trust Dagur on this one and they couldn't believe he was actually doing it.
"Come on, guys." Dagur said. "That's it. Help me out here."
They soon came to a stop.
"Wait here." Dagur said and made his way down along the path. A few seconds later the Haddock Twins heard him say, "We're good. Come."
Hiccup and Hicca through the bushes and found themselves at the edge of a waterfall that overlooks the valley. Under normal circumstances they would have found the view quite beautiful, but right now all he could see was a dead end.
"There's nowhere to hide!" Hicca yelled out.
"Oh, we knew it!" Hiccup groaned, facepalming himself. "What were we thinking?"
Dagur was just below them near the edge of the waterfall. "Hiccup, Hicca this isn't a trap. Look. There."
Hiccup frowned at him. "What… what are you…?"
"Are you sure this isn't a trick?" Hicca asked with a frown.
"Hiccup! Hicca!" Dagur yelled. "Just look! Please? I'll stay right here."
Hiccup and Hicca then walked a bit further along the edge to get a better look at the waterfall and that's when they saw it. A pathway that led to a cave just behind the waterfall.
(Linebreak)
Minutes later, the three and Midnight were moving Toothless along the pathway, being dreadfully careful since the pathway was covered in water.
One wrong slip and they could tumble over the edge and fall to their death. Hiccup actually almost did trip at one point in the past.
"Be careful, now." Dagur advised. "It can be a bit…"
Then Hiccup then fell off the edge.
"Hiccup!" Hicca called out as she grabbed her brother's hand, but slipped from the edge as Dagur Dagur quickly grabbed Hicca's legs, but he was straining trying to pull them back up.
"Midnight!" Hicca yelled. "Come on, girl!"
"A little help, Midnight!" Hiccup yelled next.
"You gotta help me, Midnight!" Dagur yelled.
Dagur then slipped off the edge, but fortunately, Midnight managed to grab hold of Dagur's leg with his mouth. Toothless then began to pour the Berserker and the two Viking twins back onto the pathway. All four of them panted for breath after that little experience.
"Sorry about that," said Dagur. "My fault. I should've warned you earlier. I'll try to do better."
Dagur then got up and moved towards Midnight as the Haddock Twins looked at each other in shock and surprise.
"And we have officially stepped into an alternate archipelago." Hiccup said, shaking his head.
"No kidding." Hicca said in agreement.
(Linebreak)
Minutes later they entered the cave.
"Okay, right over here. Good job, guys." Dagur said.
Once they laid Toothless down, Dagur began to start a fire using two rocks. That's when Hiccup and Hicca notice several engravings on the cave wall and some notes.
"Yeah, I tend to have a lot of time on my hands these days," Dagur said, noticing the Haddock Twins' interest in his drawings.
Dagur then grabbed a blanket and a bucket of water and made his way over to Toothless.
"Here you go, little buddy, there you go." said Dagur as he put a wet towel on top of Toothless' head while Midnight nuzzled him on his side for comfort. Dagur then looked back at Hiccup. "It's important to keep the mind sharp."
He then laughed, but Hiccup and Hicca weren't in a laughing mood.
"Dagur, you owe us some answers." Hicca reminded him.
"Yes, answers." Dagur said. "I did tell both those were en route." Hiccup and Hicca then sat down on an old crate. "Well, after I came to the unfortunate realization that I was completely expendable while part of the Dragon Hunters. And under the command of Viggo Grimborn…" He then clenched his fists. "Oh, I would have loved to have seen the look on his face as I drove a…" He then relaxed and took a deep breath. "Have either of you ever tried that? It's cathartic. I used to think that the only deep breaths were the last ones." He then laughed and then came to an abrupt stop. "How's Heather?" He asked them
Hiccup and Hicca honestly had no idea, they hadn't seen Heather for months when Henry told them she went out on her own after the 'Viggo Fiasco', but they can't tell Dagur that.
"Yeah, you know, Heather, she's okay." Hiccup said uncertainty.
"She's doing fine." Hicca added, while not sure what to say to Dagur.
"Good. Good," Dagur nodded. "And her dragon? What was it, Windshower?"
"It's Windshear." Hicca corrected
"Right. Sorry." Dagur said as he then placed a blanket underneath Toothless' chin. "Here you go, little buddy."
He then moved it closer to the fire. "Anyway, at that learning experience, I drifted at sea for quite some time, then shipwrecked here." He then placed another stick on the fire." I've been alone on this island for months. You know, it's amazing what a near-death experience and hours upon hours, upon hours, upon hours, upon hours, upon hours of alone time will do to the mind, body and soul, Hiccup and Hicca. I mean, you two should try it sometime."
The Haddock Twins chuckled nervously at Dagur.
"What's so funny?" Dagur blinked.
"You. This. We mean, we knew you were crazy, but this takes the cake." Hiccup said.
"Yeah, this is a new level for you, Dagur." Hicca added.
"I am not…" Dagur yelled as he stood up. He then calmed down. "Crazy. But I do understand both your skepticisms."
"Dagur, why in the name of Thor should we believe a word you say?" Hiccup asking the question had been on their minds ever since they ran into the lunatic.
"After what you tried to do to us over the years?" HIcca added.
"You both shouldn't. I don't deserve the benefit of the doubt," Dagur admitted.
He then grabbed a bucket and walked over to Toothless. "Oh, you take that little water, yes, you good boy." He then looked to Hiccup and Hicca, who walked over to examine Toothless. "He's not looking good."
"He's never been hit with one of these, we only saw Midnight get shot once." Hiccup said as he looked at Toothless' tail. "I don't know, maybe… maybe Night Furies react differently?"
"If that were true then Midnight would've reacted the same way when she was hit." Hicca as she examined Toothless' tail. "They must've put something in that dragon root arrow that is causing Toothless' sickness." She deduced.
"I never liked those Dragon Root arrows." Dagur said before giving a frown. "Seemed like cheating to me. I hate cheaters." He added.
"We can't wait long enough for the effects to wear off. By that time, the hunters might find us and Toothless will just get worse." Hicca said. "If only there was a way to help him get better quickly." She added.
Dagur then has a thought as he remembered something. "Well, if you want to get Toothless better quickly, there is an antidote for the dragon root, you know." He said, which caused the Haddock Twins to look at Dagur in surprise.
"There's an antidote for dragon root arrow?" Hicca asked in interest as Midnight looked at Dagur in curiosity that there was a cure for her mate.
"There is. I saw Ryker and his men make it back on their ships for any dragons they needed alive." Dagur confirmed, having seen the hunters make an antidote to counteract the dragon root to any dragons that were infected. "I give you both the ingredients and together make the antidote to save your glorious Night Fury, you two." He then got up and walked. "Unless you two want to take the chance of him surviving this on his own?"
Before the Haddock Twins could answer, Dagur grabbed a pair of swords and tossed one over to Hiccup. "You may need that, Hiccup. They're still out there." He pointed out.
The Haddock Twins looked at each other before they shrugged, going along with Dagur's plan since they don't have any other options.
They got up as Hicca turned to Midnight. "Midnight, stay here and keep Toothless safe." She said as Midnight looked like she wanted to argue but couldn't, "We'll be fine, I promise."
She then left as the female Night Fury went up to her mate as she laid next to him as she nuzzled Toothless.
'Just rest, Toothless. They'll be back with the cure.' Midnight cooed as Toothless purred at his mate's touch.

Moments later they were outside the waterfall searching for ingredients. They then stopped so that Dagur could examine a weed in the ground.
"Bitterweed. That's the first ingredient." He said he then sniffed the weed. "Looks just like this, but darker." He explained.
"So, what caused this new Dagur?" Hiccup asked as he began searching through the weeds while Hicca wrote down the recipe for the antidote, having a feeling it will come in handy in the future.
"I'm pretty interested to know as well." Hicca said in agreement, wanting to know what caused Dagur to turn over a new leaf since the last time they saw him.
"I told you. Near-death experience and a lot of time to think." Dagur said.
"About what?" Hiccup frowned.
"Well, when you only care about yourself, life is simple. Your actions are clear. Consequences?" Dagur then laughed. "Who cares? When that changes…"
Hicca nodded in understanding. "Heather?"
"She's blood, guys. Which makes her even closer than you two and me. You two would understand what I'm saying." Dagur said.
Hiccup and Hicca could never get used to the fact that Dagur kept on referencing himself as their brother. It was possibly the most disturbing thing ever since Astrid wooed Snotlout.
Dagur then saw the weed they were looking for, but when he tried to grab it they heard a growl. They soon discovered that a Changewing had camouflaged itself as a rock and was growling angrily at them.
"Changewing!" Hiccup yelled.
The Changewing snapped at them causing Dagur to topple over and began looking at the two of them, no doubt wondering which one of them to attack first.
However, before it attacked them, Dagur places hands over his mouth and began to whistle. Whatever he did it caused the Changewing to disappear and Hiccup and Hicca herd movement indicating that the dragon was running away.
"What?" Hiccup starred in surprise.
"How did you do that?" Hicca asked in surprise as she and her brother looked at Dagur.
Dagur leaned back and sighed. "A little something I picked up along the way."

Moments later they began searching for the second ingredient.
"Okay, now we need the branch of a Fire Fern," Dagur said as Hicca wrote it down. "It's the long, red plant underneath the big Elm tree. Just make sure neither of you don't…"
Just then, Hicca and Dagur then heard Hiccup scream. They quickly turned and found Hiccup at the base of a large Elm tree in front of a red plant and clutching his hand in pain.
"…touch it with your bare hands," Dagur finished as he picked up the branch with his sword.
"Seriously, bro?" Hicca asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked at her brother's hand.
"Thanks for the early warning, Dagur." Hiccup said while wincing.
"I gotta work on that." Dagur said.
Hicca examined Hiccup's hand as she spoke. "Only a few cuts and scratches. Just dip it in some fresh water to soothe the pain."
"We're close to one, actually." Dagur said as he then grabbed Hiccup's wrist as Hicca followed. "Give it here. Get, come on. Can't take you anywhere, Hiccup." He then dug Hiccup's hand into a nearby lake.
"Keep it in the water." Dagur said as he grabbed a jar. "Hey! Next ingredient, fresh water." He then gave a chuckle as his jar was being filled as Hicca wrote the next ingredient down.
"This island is basically a dragon root antidote supplier." Hicca said in interested. "I gotta remember to come back here if we ever need more dragon root antidotes." She added.
"You could say that." Dagur commented as he then looked at the Haddock Twins curiously. "So, you two wanna tell me why you're both out here on your own?" He asked them.
"Not really," said Hiccup. "Let's just say you aren't the only one who changed after Viggo Grimborn."
"After what happened from our last battle with him, we couldn't let any chance to get to him after what happened." Hicca explained.
Dagur nodded in understanding. "That stuff can kill you two from the inside, guys. Revenge. Anger. Obsession. Trust me, I know. It can make you do things you never thought you were capable of. Cause you to take chances, make mistakes. If that doesn't end you, it'll eat away at you slowly."
The Haddock Twins just stared at Dagur when he said that as he got up.
"You two will live." Dagur said with a smile.

Then they began hunting down for the last ingredient, which was located on top of a large boulder that was about thirty feet tall.
"This is the last ingredient." Hicca asked as she looked at Dagur, who nodded in response.
"Are you sure?" Hiccup asked.
"Yes, I'm sure. Purple Oleander," Dagur said as he gave the Haddock Twins a sideways look. "Do you two always nag like this?" Hiccup and Hicca looked at him. "Kidding." He then laughed. "Sense of humor? No? Sense of humor?"
"We're just trying to be sure, Dagur. For Toothless' sake." Hicca commented as she and her brother walked forward.
Hiccup shook his head. "Blue Oleander can kill a dragon. How… How is purple any different?" He asked.
"Well, for one thing—" Dagur started with a raised finger.
"Please don't say, 'it's purple'." Hicca warned.
Dagur crossed his arms. "I was going to say 'nature'. It's always a great mystery, guys. Take Heather and I. Where brother and sister and yet we're very different."
"You know, he has a point, bro." Hicca said, seeing that Dagur is not wrong on that.
The Haddock Twins had to admit that Dagur had a fair point and the reader had any time to argue, for all they knew Toothless was getting worse and Midnight was getting more worried. Also, if they don't get back to the Edge soon, Astrid and Henry will be doing the killing.
"We must be out of our minds to go along with any of this." Hiccup groaned as he walked over to the boulder.
"But, what choice do we have?" Hicca pointed out.
Hiccup nodded as he then began climbing the boulder and Dagur and Hicca just simply watched progress.
Then two Hunters from their head out from behind a bush. Slowly one of them drew his mace and made his way over towards Hicca Dagur. He raised the mace and then Dagur, who must've senses presence, turned quickly and punched him right in the face while Hicca turned in surprise.
"My face." The Hunter groaned, clutching his nose.
"Ooh! That feels good," Dagur said as he turned to Hicca. "Just sit back and watch, sister." He said to Hicca as he charged at the hunters while Hicca looked in surprise.
"What…?" Hicca said in surprise.
Hiccup now reached the top of the boulder and he looked down. He saw Dagur, who had tackled the Hunter, pummeled a Hunter on the face while Hicca just stood there and watched in surprise. Then he saw a second Hunter making his way towards Dagur.
"Dagur!" Hiccup yelled.
Hicca saw the hunter as well. "Watch out!" She called out.
Dagur then ducked under the mace by inches and rolled to his feet. He then stepped back to dodge the second swing and sidestepped to dodge the third and then punched the Hunter right across the face and grabbed the mace.
He raised the mace prepared to deal the final blow, but then he stopped in mid-air and released it. Hiccup, who had just retrieved the Purple Oleander, walked over to him next to his sister as they were looking slightly surprised that he did that.
"You, spare the hunters?" Hicca asked in surprise.
"I told you two, I've changed," Dagur said.
Then suddenly Dagur shoved Hiccup and Hicca out of the way as they fell to the ground as they glared at him. "What was that for?" Hiccup yelled.
They looked up and their eyes widened, because they found a bolt wedged in Dagur's shoulder. Strangely enough he didn't exactly look concerned by it.
"Stuck right in there, look at the way it's…" Dagur said before he toppled to his knees as they also saw another arrow that hit a tree
The Haddock Twins turned and found two Hunters standing there with a crossbow in each of their hands. The Hunters roared, casting their crossbows aside and holding out their mace.
Hiccup quickly spun instinctively and grabbed the mace while Hicca swung her staff. Then equally instinctively they closed eyes and as Hiccup held the mace out while Hicca held her staff and they heard a loud grunt sound.
The Haddock Twins opened their eyes to find the maces inches from their faces and those Hunters, who each ran straight into the mace and staff as they looked very winded. Clutching their stomachs, the Hunters toppled over and Hiccup and Hicca took several deep breaths before looking at Dagur, who passed out from the wound from the arrow.

Hours later, Hicca was standing near a fire where a pot was brewing. She started to put all the ingredients needed to create the antidote for Toothless and began to stir the contents with a stick while Hiccup is with his dragon, who is still resting while Midnight is next to him.
The Haddock Twins then looked to Dagur, who was unconscious. They had to drag the Berzerker all the way to the cave and Hicca treated his wound and was able to create a sling around his arm.
They then heard a gasp and saw Dagur waking up. "Whoa! Those were some crazy dreams." He exclaimed.
Hiccup bent down and looked at him. "You'll live." He repeated the word Dargur said to them early.
Hicca then walked over as she bent down. "I took the arrow out and bandaged the wound, which is healing nicely." She said with a small smile.
Dagur then noticed the sling. "You… did this? For me?" he said surprised. He then sniffed. "I don't know what to say. I mean, nobody has ever—"
"Dagur, it was the least I could do," Hicca interrupted. "Think of it as payback for, well, everything."
Then they heard a hissing sound and Dagur got to his feet and together the two of them met the way out of the pot.
"Was just about to give it to Toothless before you came to." Hicca said.
Dagur examines the contents. "Needs more purple. Definitely." He said and dropped another Purple Oleander into the pot. Almost immediately the contents turned purple. "There. That should do it."
Hicca removed the pot from the fire and placed it in front of Toothless. The Night Fury, however, turned his head away from the contents while Midnight sniffs it as she cringes at the smell.
"Are you sure this will work?" Hicca asked uncertainty
"Hey, we can always wait for the effect of the arrows to wear off and hope they don't find as before then. But that could take quite a while." Dagur said before turning to Hiccup. "It's up to you, Hiccup. But I would suggest you lose the paranoia. It is a terrible existence. And it's not you."
Hiccup sighed, because he knew that Dagur was right. He then Nodded his head to his sister, "Do it Hicca." He said.
Hicca tilted the pot and poured it down into Toothless' mouth.
"There you go, Toothless, It's okay." Hicca said.
Toothless swallowed the potion and at once stood up. At first it looked as if the potion had worked, but then he began to roar uncontrollably.
'Yuck!' Toothless exclaimed.
"Toothless? Are you okay?" Hiccup asked fearfully.
Toothless fidgeting and roaring until he eventually collapsed.
"Toothless!" Hiccup yelled running to his dragon. He then turned on Dagur angrily. "What did you do?"
Dagur just shrugged, just as surprised.
Hiccup turned back to Toothless, who was fidgeting uncontrollably.
"Oh, come on. Come on. Stay with me, bud!" Hiccup begged. Again Toothless collapsed.
Hicca immediately checked him over, "Well, his fever's going down. That's a good sign." She said.
Hiccup turned furiously on Dagur, who took several steps towards them. "You stay away from him!"
"Hiccup, I didn't know! You have to believe me," Dagur said, holding out his hand defensively.
"Wait, Hiccup. I've seen this kind of reaction before…" Hicca tried to say but was cut off when Hiccup roared and pounced on Dagur, causing the two of them to topple over the edge. "And he's gone." She said as she turned her attention to Toothless as Midnight warbled her mate in concern as she nuzzled him.
Dagur and Hiccup then landed on the river and were carried away by the current.
They tried grabbing hold of the rocks, but they were too slippery to get a proper hold on. They were forced to follow the current and nearly hit a few rocks along the way, but eventually they managed to pull themselves onto the edge.
Dagur got the feeling back into his arm, but had little time to enjoy it because Hiccup tackled him.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Hiccup roared.
Fortunately for Dagur, he was still stronger than Hiccup and managed to pin him to the ground hoping to talk some sense into him.
"I didn't hurt your—"
He stopped when he saw the Dragon Hunter Captain and Hunters pointing their weapons at them. He then held out his hands in surrender.
(Linebreak)
Moments later they were in a clearing and the two of them had their hands tied. The captain looked down at them with a smirk on his face.
"We're going to find those dragons and that sister of yours, it's only a matter of time," He boasted. "Why don't you make it easier for everyone?"
The Hunters sniggered, but they didn't say a word.
"Maybe this will burn a hole in your memory," The Captain said, gesturing to one of his men.
A Hunter grabbed Hiccup forcefully and towards a fire they had set. Hiccup could see what they were planning, because in the fire he could see a hot poker. The Hunter grabbed the poker and pressed it on a bucket and Hiccup could see the emblem of a dragon skull with a sword through its head.
"Now, you will be part of the Dragon Hunters forever," The Captain smirked as the Hunter drew the poker closer to Hiccup's face.
"Okay! Enough! Enough! I'll take you to the Night Furies and the girl!" Dagur yelled.
"No, Dagur!" Hiccup yelled.
The Captain gestured for the Hunter to stop and he dropped the poker.
"Take a few more men with you, just in case," said the Captain.
The Hunter then released Hiccup and at once Dagur rushed over to him. Two of the Hunters followed him, in order to keep a close eye on him. He smirked as he drew his hand to the fire which started to burn the rope around them.
When the Hunters realized what Dagur was doing and drew their weapons it was too late, as the rope snapped and he rammed his shoulder into the charging Hunters and caught the sword one of them dropped.
"Come on, come on, hurry, hurry, hurry!" Hiccup explained, holding out his hands.
Dagur made his way to him, but then turned and found Hunter charging towards them. "Sorry, brother. You'd just slow me down. I'll get our sister."
He then runs off and one of the Hunters tries to shoot him with an arrow, but he deflects the shot with the sword.
"You're a fake, Dagur!" Hiccup yelled as Dagur ran into the woods. "A fake! I hate you! You hear me? I hate you!"
Dagur kept on running through the forest and heard every one of Hiccup's words and shook his head. He then made his way over towards the waterfall.
Some of the Hunters began to give chase, but the Captain stopped them.
"Forget him. He's worthless," he said. He then looked at Hiccup. "This one will take us to the Night Furies and his sister. We'll come back for Dagur later, and put an end to his miserable life."
They then made their way towards the shoreline.

Back at the cave, Hicca watched Toothless as he started to wake up as he shook his head to get his bearings.
"That's it, Toothless." Hicca said as she watched the male Night Fury slowly rise to his feet, "That's it."
'Ugh, that stuff was so gross.' Toothless warbled as he stuck his tongue out.
Midnight charged right over to her mate as she gave him a loving nuzzle, 'You're okay!' She warbled happily.
'I am, Midnight. I'm alright.' Toothless cooed as he nuzzled Midnight in return as the two furies purred at each other.
Hicca smiled, "Now that you're back on your feet, let's go find those two muttonheads." She suggested.
"Um, make that one muttonhead." Hicca turned around and saw Dagur leaning against the rock, "We've got a small problem."
"Dagur? Where's-" Hicca tried to say before Midnight rushed past her and towards Dagur ,who only had time to scream before she pounced on him again, "Midnight wait! He's-" Hicca trailed off when she saw Midnight licking Dagur's face like mad.
'You saved him! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!' Midnight warbled.
"Okay! Okay! Down girl! Down dragon! Okay! You're welcome!" Dagur yelled out as his face kept getting licked by Midnight's tongue as he tried to push her off.
Hicca laughed while Toothless did the same. Midnight finally let Dagur up as he looked himself over, "This washes out, right?" He asked Hicca.
Hicca looked around as she gave a nervous expression. "Yes. They do wash off." She lied, while giving a sheepish smile, not sure how Dagur will react if he finds out Night Fury saliva doesn't wash out. Hicca avoided any further questions as she spoke. "Anyway, where's Hiccup?" She asked, noticing the absence of her brother.
"Yeah, we have a little problem." Dagur said as Hicca and the two Night Furies listened to what he had to say.

An hour later they made it to the ship and the Captain looked at Hiccup.
"Last chance." He said. "You wanna help those dragons and your sister? Help yourself."
Hiccup glared at him. "I'll die before I talk."
"Then die you shall. Viggo will see to that." He then looked to his Hunters. "Take him."
As they made their way to the rowboat, Hiccup looked back at the island and his eyes widened, in the distance he could see two black objects flying towards them and he recognised the sound they were making
was making.
"Move." The Hunter said, shoving him.
Then suddenly, plasma blasts slammed right into the Hunter and a second one took out another. Then zooming overhead was none other than Toothless, along with Hicca and Midnight.
Hiccup laughed. He soon stopped when he realized who was riding Toothless, "What?!" He gasped it was Dagur, who looked as if he wanted to be anywhere other than on the dragon.
"Just keep calm Dagur, it's just like steering a ship!" Hicca instructed.
"Steering a ship that flies and has a fake tail!" Dagur pointed out as he screamed in panic.
"Just keep that tail open and let Toothless take care of the rest!" Hicca called out.
Toothless then flew back down towards the beach and performed a barrel roll to dodge the bolts the Hunters fired. He then hovered above them and a Hunter tried to strike him, but Dagur caught the bolt and laughed.
Hicca and Midnight then flew straight to the rear as Midnight shot a plasma blast at the hunters with slit eyes, taking her anger at the hunters for harming her mate as she shot another plasma blast.
The Captain drew his sword and forced Hiccup onto his knee, pointing the blade at him. He had hoped that the dragon would not harm him as long as he had his master.
"Hiccup!" Hicca called out as she saw her brother having a sword pointed at him by the captain.
Toothless soared up into the sky.
"Easy, bud!" Dagur pleaded but Toothless didn't heed him as he zoomed down towards the Captain, almost making Dagur vomit.
He performed another barrel roll to dodge the Hunters' bolts and blasted the remaining Hunters with a plasma blast. He then zoomed over the Captain's head and landed behind him growling.
Toothless then roared, knocking Dagur off the saddle, and the Captain ran for it.
Hiccup smiled at Toothless as the Dragon nuzzled him. "Bud! It's good to see you, too!"
Hicca landed and ran over to her brother, "Thank Thor you're okay!" She said as they hugged.
"I'm glad to see you sis," Hiccup said as they broke away, "But how'd you find me."
Hicca smirked and jerked a thumb behind her, "Thank our brother." She said as Dagur then hobbled his way towards them with a hand over his stomach as if he was trying to keep his lunch inside it.
"I have no idea how you two and your friends can stomach that." Dagur said while trying not to vomit.
Hicca chuckled. "We had tons of practice, Dagur." She then reached into her satchel and pulled out a bottle. "Here, this should help your stomach."
Dagur immediately took it and drank the contents before burping, "Thank you, sister." He said before he sliced the rope around Hiccup's hands with the Hunters bolt he caught earlier and the two of them shook hands.
The moment they let go, Hiccup heard Toothless.
"Oh, Toothless! It's good to have you back!" He said relieved.
"I was trying to tell you bro, that I've seen this kind of reaction before. The effects of medicine may be disgusting and a bit painful, but the aftereffects are okay." Hicca said.
Hiccup then blinked at the realization before turning to Dagur, "Oh, sorry." He said sheepishly.
"Nah, it's cool, brother." Dagur said with a smile as he raised his hand. "I was just as surprised as you are by that. I may have seen the Hunters make the dragon root antidotes, but I've never seen the aftereffects. I only saw that it works." He stated.
"Well at least now I have the antidote for Dragon Root Arrow infection." Hicca said, pulling out a scroll with the recipe for the antidote on it. "This will come in really good hands and help us out more against these hunters. Thanks, brother." She said to Dagur with a smile.
Dagur smiled at Hicca. "Anytime, sister." He replied.
Hiccup then mounted Toothless' back. "Now, what do you guys say we show him how it's done?" He asked his dragon, Hicca and Midnight as he pressed down on the scabbard and released the tailfin.
"Thought you'd never ask." Hicca answered as she mounted on Midnight's back and the two took flight into the air.
"Toothless! Barrel roll, multiple blasts!" Hiccup commanded.
"Same to you, Midnight!" Hicca called out.
Toothless and Midnight then each perform a barrel roll and unleash a stable larger plasma blast than the Hunters ship, making all the remaining Hunters boards who jump overboard. They then began to chase down the Captain.
Dagur watched briefly and then turned to the Hunters' ship with a smile on his face. 'Finally, a way off this rock.' He thought.
Meanwhile, the Captain kept on running, hoping to escape the Dragon Riders and his Night Furies. He then ran through the forest, knowing the trees were too thick for them to follow him.
"They're so much tougher when they have you two chained up, huh, guys?" said Hiccup.
"But when your free, their as tough as Snotlout against Astrid." Hicca grinned.
They then left.
The Captain poked his head from behind the rock he was hiding behind. He thought he was saved, but soon found that he had walked into something much worse when he saw the Changewing's head appearing right in front of him.
He whimpered and next second the dragon pounced on him.
The Haddock Twins, Midnight and Toothless soon return to the shoreline to pick up Dagur, but discover that he was nowhere to be seen.
"Wait? Where'd he go?" Hiccup asked, looking around.
"I don't see the Hunters' ship. Dagur must've used it to get off the island." Hicca said, seeing that the Hunter's ship is gone too.
Toothless growled, 'We do owe him our lives.'
Hiccup nodded. "Yeah. We owe him one," he agreed. "Besides, maybe he'll get to Viggo before we do."
"But I wonder what Dagur was really looking for before he was shipwrecked?" Hicca wondered as they then flew off in the opposite direction, but then appearing out from behind the cloud cover was the Dragon Hunters ship which was manned by Dagur.
"Hiccup! Hicca! Tell Heather I'm coming for her!" Dagur yelled at the top of his voice, unsure whether the Haddock Twins heard him or not.
The Berserker then sailed into the white blue yonder while the Dragon Rider soared into the opposite direction.
(Linebreak)
Finally the Haddock Twins made it back to the Edge, "So let's not tell the guys about our adventure with Dagur the Deranged when we make it up to them." Hicca suggested as they dismounted.
"Oh definitely." Hiccup said as they walked towards the stables, "For now, let's just focus on how we can keep Astrid from-"
But then as Hiccup opened the doors he got the scare of his life when he saw a fuming Astrid Hofferson standing right in front him with her arms crossed.
"Ahh! A-A-Astrid!" Hiccup said nervously, "Hey! We-we were just talking about you!" He stuttered while Hicca, Midnight and Toothless looked at her nervously as they backed away a bit.
Astrid then pulled out her ax, not taking her eyes off Hiccup, "You've got three seconds to start running, Haddock." She growled.
"Wh-what? Three seconds?! Come on, Astrid." Hiccup pleaded.
"One." Astrid started.
"Are we seriously doing this?" Hiccup asked fearfully.
"Two." Astrid continued as she raised her axe.
"You might wanna start running now, bro." Hicca advised.
"Good idea!" Hiccup said as he was about to take off.
"Three!" Astrid yelled in rage as she gave a battle cry and charged at Hiccup, who then started running and screaming for his life. "Come here you son of a half troll, lying, rag eating munch bucket!" She screamed in fury.
Hicca, Midnight and Toothless watches them go as Hicca shook her head in amusement. "Glad she's not chasing me. Because once you ditch Astrid, you better start running to avoid her." She said to the two dragons as the two Night Furies nodded their heads in agreement. "But at least this will keep her from asking about what happened while my brother tries to stay alive from her wrath." She added with a little chuckle.
'That is true. I know that experience way too well from Midnight here.' Toothless warbled in amusement while looking at his mate.
Midnight gave a dragon-like scoff as she playfully hit Toothless with her wings. 'I am not that childish.' She warbles as she then gives a smirk at Toothless. 'But, after what happened to you and all we've been through today, Toothless, I think you earned something.' She warbled while looking at Toothless with a smirk.
Toothless looked at Midnight in curiosity. 'What's that?' He asked his mate.
'This!' Midnight roared as she pounced Toothless as the two Night Furies rolled across the ground while giving a dragon-like laughter as Midnight then nuzzled Toothless, which surprised him as the male Night Fury nuzzled his mate back.
Hicca saw the two Furies as she gave a chuckle. "Hehehe. Get a room, you two. At least while Hiccup and Astrid are." She playfully said as she pointed to the two Vikings as Hiccup kept running while Astrid kept chasing him with her axe out.
"Astrid, come on, let's talk about this!" Hiccup begged.
"Talk to the axe!" Astrid yelled as she kept chasing Hiccup. "Take it like a Viking!" She added.
"No thanks!" Hiccup called out as he kept running for his life.
Hicca then gives a laugh at this, seeing that Astrid won't calm down anytime soon while Hiccup tries to stay alive while the two Night Furies have their moment, seeing that today was pretty interesting.
"Never a dull moment here on Dragon's Edge." She said with a smile.
