The Kryptonian Drug
Kara and Rae were in Smallville. Clark had called them and asked them for help tracking inhalers of X-Kryptonite or sometimes called XK - a yellow version of Kryptonite that was only found in the mines in Smallville that gave the user Kryptonian powers for a limited time. Someone had figured out how to turn it into a gas form for people to breath in and sell. It had become a problem in Smallville - especially at the High School.
"Well, we got the drug dealer from the High School," Kara said. They were standing in Smallville small police department. "Candice Pergande. High school student. Cheerleader. Guess we should talk to her and find her supplier."
"Sweetie," Rae said, stopping Kara. "Maybe me and Clark should talk to her."
"Why? I'm great at getting criminals to talk," Kara said.
"Yeah, when they are nasty harden criminals, you're great with your arrows. This is a teenage girl," Rae reasoned. "I think she can use a… lighter touch. More good cops and no bad cops."
"Ah, fine, you go get her love," Kara said moving back and letting Clark and Rae head into the room.
"Good call," Clark whispered as they entered the room. "Since losing her powers, Kara became a bit more like Oliver..." Rae nodded, knowing it was true. She loved Kara, but Kara was no longer the Supergirl of the old days.
"Hello," Rae said to the only other person in the room. The teenage girl was just sitting at a chair. The cops hadn't even bothered to handcuff her.
"Don't you two have something better to do?" Candice asked back as Rae took the last remaining seat and Clark sat on the table.
"You know who I am. You know this is my hometown. I'd drop everything to protect this place," Clark said.
"And Clark is family," Rae said. "So, how does a popular high schooler become a drug dealer?" Candice didn't say anything. "Come on, we know you sold XK. Your customers flipped on you."
"Not to mentioned that paper bag of 10 XK inhalers we found on you," Clark added. "You're caught. Now here's how this works: you now flip on your suppler of XK and tell us how to find them for a lighter sentence."
"I'm a minor," Candice said.
"You're what, 16?" Rae asked. "Old enough to be charged as an adult. This could completely ruin your life if you don't play ball with us."
Candice looked at the two of them. "What do you want to know?" Candice sighed.
"Where did you get the XK from?" Rae asked.
"There were these people selling cases. We managed to get enough to buy a case," Candice said.
"We? You have a partner?" Clark asked.
"Tag Harris," Candice said. "Another student in my grade."
"You've been selling a lot more than a case," Rae said. "So, you bought more?"
"In a way," Candice said and notice the look. "Tag used an inhaler and stole all the cases our supplier had. Then made sure they went to jail for other crimes so they didn't come after us. I thought that was near-sighted. We didn't know where to get more when these cases ran out but it was also a lot of cases."
"Where are Tag and the cases?" Clark asked.
"Tag has been getting nervous for a while. He moved them," Candice said.
"Out of town, or out of state?" Rae asked.
"Out of world," Candice said, and Rae and Clark shared a look. "He got a world hopping device. Moved all the cases to a different Earth. He's laying low there until he thinks it's safe to come back here."
"Do you know the vibration?" Rae asked.
"No, but this world was weird," Candice said. "We all know there are those worlds that are dead. That can't support life anymore." Rae didn't speak. Dead worlds were not secret on this Earth - like the multiverse itself, it was common knowledge, but only the heroes knew the true reason behind the dead. "Well this world use to be one of them, but it's alive again."
"That's impossible," Rae said.
"I don't know what to tell you. It was dead and now alive. Tag figured no one would think to look there even if they did know to look for the multiverse," Candice stated.
Rae took a piece of paper and pen on the table and passed it off to Candice. "Write down where and when Tag jumped," Rae said and Candice started writing.
Putting the pen down not long later, she passing it back to Rae. There was a time and place on it which Rae took.
"So, what now?" Candice asked.
"I'll tell the DA you have been helpful," Clark said. "They should go light on you," with that, they both headed to the door.
"He's addicted to the stuff," Candice said, making the two pause and turn around. "Tag... he can get scary when it runs out before he gets another hit. Just to let you know." Rae gave a nod at Candice.
With that, the pair exited the room, back to where Kara was waiting. But before either of them could say anything, another voice spoke. "Clark?" A dark-haired woman came up and hugged Clark and Clark hugged back.
"Lana," Clark said. "Hey, meet my cousin Kara and my cousin-in-law Rae. Girls, this is Lana Lang. A long-time friend and current mayor of Smallville."
"It's an honor to meet you two," Lana said with a smile to them. "Clark, have you given any more thought to my question?"
"No," Clark said seeming weird with the question. "Been a bit busy."
"What question was that?" Rae asked.
"Lana wants to know if I will let Smallville turn Kent Farm into a Superman museum," Clark said. "For tourist."
"What?" Kara asked.
"The mines were Smallville biggest source of income and now they are permanently closed," Lana explained. "The town is hurting and now the only bright side we have is that we're Superman's hometown. We need to use this and the best way is being able to bring tourist into the home Superman grew up in."
"XK," Clark said, clearly changing the topic. "The good news is Candice was not a hard cookie to crack. She told us everything."
"Bad news is, this became a multiverse track," Rae said holding up the paper which Kara took to look over.
"Well, you two are multiverse trackers," Lana said, not quite meeting Clark's eyes now he'd changed topic.
"We are," Kara said. "There's just one issue."
"We're heroes on this world for free, but this is the awkward moment when our free hero work turns into our actual work," Rae said. "We don't do multiverse tracks for free."
"But you can make an exception here," Clark said to the two right away. "Come on, the town doesn't have the money. For me, guys?"
"One free track won't kill us," Kara reasoned.
"Are you two sure? We could probably get together $500, maybe $1000," Lana said.
"Keep it," Rae said. "Besides, I want to see this dead world that is now alive."
"What?" Kara asked as the two started to walk for the door; Clark saying goodbye to Lana as he went after them.
"That's according to Candice. The world was once dead but now alive," Rae said.
"Thank you two," Clark caught up to them. "Me and Lois will take care of Alister and Bella while you're gone." Ray had taken a few days off, so Lois had the kids with Nyssa and Seg as well.
"Always for you, but Clark," Kara said, "tell Lana no already. You're not going to let Kent Farm be a museum. It seems like you and Lois live there again, anyway."
"I know, but I don't know how to tell Lana I can't let her use the farm as a museum because we're moving back to it," Clark said.
"I think you just did," Rae said. Clark hadn't realized as he talked to the two Lana Lang had walked out of the police station and was behind them. Clark turned slowly to look at Lana as Lana came up to him and then hugged him.
"I rather have you," Lana said to Clark. Rae gave Kara a smile and then put a hand on her wife, running her back to Starling.

Once back in their Starling offices, Kara gave a treat to Samuel and went to the computer. Rae went to check their messages.
"Well, it looks like our landlord for the bakery is accepting our offer on the building - and Barry has a meeting today with someone from Gotham," Rae said with a raised eyebrow. "Besides that, we're free. So, have you tracked the world yet?"
"Twice since you were checking messages," Kara said. "Just to be sure. He went to Random World."
"From the name I guess it's on the system," Rae said. "So, why the twice check?"
"Because my systems had this world down as dead," Kara said. "But it's not. Not anymore at least. The computer now registers it as alive."
"What does the system say about it?" Rae asked.
"Only that it is the home of Random Barry," Kara said. "We should use the system. Head on over."
"Not grabbing your bike?" Rae asked, taking out a couple of world hopping devices in case they needed them to get home.
"It still needs to be fixed after what happened on Karry," Kara said. "But I'll just take Samuel." The bird gave a noise out and the three used the system to head to this Random World.

Kara, Rae and Samuel appeared in a fancy penthouse- a dog started barking at them, and they knew it was Kryptonian right away from the freeze breath it gave out at the bark.
"Sarge!" A Barry said, coming into the room and the dog calmed as Samuel took a seat on back of the couch. "Multiverse?" He glanced at the three.
"Yes," Kara and Rae said together.
"Why did you put the system in your house?" Rae asked
"To make sure we're the first people the multiverse see if they come from it," Caitlin said back as she walked down the stairs. "We don't want anyone from this world but us and Cisco knowing the truth of this world."
"Which would be...?" Kara asked.
"And isn't this the same Penthouse that Karry live in?" Rae asked.
"The answer to that is the same," Barry said. "I am sure you noticed this world use to be dead and is now alive. Well, our world died during Crisis and with the three of us so common there were no world that could just take us in. The Paragons went back to the World Forge and created this world for us."
"They can do that?!" Rae asked, shocked.
"Apparently it's not easy," Caitlin said. "Not something they can do often but they did it for us. This Earth is not the Earth it once was though - or even our original world. It's… new. A combination of things from all Paragons worlds and some original things."
"So, the Penthouse is from Karry," Rae sighed in realization.
"Yep, found I owned it when I explored my life on this world, but we don't have that added floor they made below," Barry said.
"Yeah, they also upgraded this floor," Rae mused, noticing it looked like how the Penthouse used to look on Karry. "What about Prime? What is here from them?" Rae asked.
"My twin brother Max owns the Beach House they live in," Barry said.
"And SuperEarth...?" Kara asked.
"We think the heroes Batwoman and White Rabbit came from them. Only world we know with those two," Caitlin said. "Plus, we have the Central-National combined cities - but that's a New Justice thing too, so we're not entirely certain which Paragon that came from."
"Hero?" Rae now asked.
"A little unsure there," Barry said. "We think maybe the idea for the jail came from them? Don't ask."
"New Justice?" Kara asked. "Apart from the combined cities."
"Yes, the cities, but also our Justice League runs a lot like theirs does," Caitlin said. "It includes several people from both their old and new League as well. Plus, Clark and Diana are in charge."
"Beautiful Earth?" Rae asked. They were checking off the Paragon worlds now.
"Max and Kayla are both actors. Plus, Kayla is dating Crystal," Barry said. "Oh, and Max is dating Kara, which is several of the Paragon worlds and other worlds. Only substituting Max in for me."
"Kingdom Come?" Kara asked.
"Clark is triplets here. One of them has the same face as Kingdom Come Clark which is Ray Palmer's face," Caitlin answered
"Wow," Rae said. "Weird… and kind of impressive. So, no one on this world knows they didn't exist a few months ago?"
"Nope, they think they have always been. And that we were always on this world," Caitlin said. "It's just… not something to tell them. So, if you were just curious…"
"Oh no, we did not come here for that. We're here because we're Trackers," Rae said.
"Bounty Hunters?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, we're tracking a… it's hard to call him a real hard-core criminal. A teen drug dealer who had a ton of XK inhalers and hiding out here," Rae said.
"Possibly in Smallville," Kara said. "Kid never left the town in his life. Where else is he going to hide cases of XK?"
"What's XK?" Caitlin asked.
"A version of Kryptonite that gives Kryptonian powers to ordinary people who take it," Rae said. "We need to find this Tag Harris and the cases he has and get them back to our Smallville."
"Okay, which one of the Clark triplets live in Smallville? I keep getting them confused," Barry asked, turning to Caitlin.
"Clark is in Metropolis, he's Superman, married to Lois and he has the same face as Karry Universe. Dean doesn't do much hero work and is with Rae - same face as Prime's Kal. Rodney is the Ray Palmer face and he's the one in Smallville," Caitlin reminded Barry and kissed his cheek.
Barry moved at this. "Sarge, come. You two, follow me," Barry said, now running out and his Kryptonian dog followed. Samuel was also fast out the door as Rae took hold of Kara again and ran.

Random Barry stopped on the farm to see Rodney toss something large into a truck.
"Barry," Rodney said with a nod. "Sarge?" Rodney gave a smile at the Kryptonian dog by Barry's side.
"You're right about the Ray thing," this was Rae who stopped with Kara. "Wow. Kent Farm, rarely different across the worlds."
"Kara, Rae?" Rodney asked, seeming confused about Rae's comments. "Kara, what are you wearing?"
"Not our Kara and Rae," Barry said, and as he looked up, Samuel landed on Rodney truck. "And I think that's a Kryptonian Eagle."
"It is," Kara said.
"Why did Rae run you?" Rodney instead asked Kara.
"I lost my powers," Kara said. "It's a long story, but not why we're here. A drug dealer from our Earth is hiding on this world with cases of XK. We're here to bring him and the drugs home. We think he would be here. Is there any place in Smallville a young teen and cases of drugs could hide?"
"Too many unfortunately," Rodney said. "Smallville is a ghost town. Only reason this farm is running is because I grow Kryptonian fruits and vegetables."
"That does explain the red sun light lamps," Rae said; unlike other Kent Farms, she had seen the fields were lined with rows of lamps that had red lights out of them. "How do you get away with that and not reveal your identity. Unless your identity is out like us."
"No, we say through Lois Lane that Superman discovered our farm and requested us to grow them and allows us to sell some to keep the farm floating," Rodney said. "And I got to get into the fields. Kryptonian plants are not the easiest to grow sometimes. You're free to look around the town. No one will care about two Flashes and… whatever you call yourself now searching the town."
"Super Blue Arrow," Kara said back. Rodney gave a wave and went back to his business.
"This doesn't make sense," Rae said.
"Why not? A lot of worlds have Kryptonians fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Several have Sanctuaries - including two Paragon worlds. I'm shocked that wasn't here instead," Kara said.
"That's not what I mean. New Justice has the Sanctuary in Smallville. Other worlds have other things. Where on a Paragon world is Smallville a ghost town?" Rae asked.
"Not a conversation to have here," Barry said and Rae nodded. He didn't want Rodney to hear. "Let's look around the town," with that, Barry ran off with Sarge.
"Want to search together?" Rae asked Kara.
"Samuel can fly me," Kara said and Samuel grabbed hold of Kara flying her up as Rae started to run.
It was fast as they were running, they realized Rodney was right. The town had so many shops and houses that looked abandoned, boarded up and empty. Rae and Barry phased into places to take looks as Kara with Samuel looked from above.
"Hey Samuel, put me down there," Kara said, pointing at a building that was completely boarded up - it might have been an old gym. Samuel put her down and Kara took the board off the door and went into the building. "Bingo! Samuel get Rae."
Kara paused as she saw the cases - one of them was open and Kara took one of the inhalers into her hand, recognizing the yellow gas within.
She was surprised when someone came at her though, and she dodged the attack and saw a Asian teenage boy with dark hair run at her.
"Tag! It's over now. Don't make me hurt you," Kara said, going to reach for an arrow.
"Like you could," Tag said and Kara saw the inhaler in his hands. It was almost out of XK as Tag took another breath of it, finishing it. At that, his eyes lit up and heat vision came at Kara, which she barely dodged - the heat vision hitting the wall. Tag ran at Kara and Kara went to punch back, as she did still have some strength but it wasn't full Kryptonian. Not what Tag had right now.
Tag threw Kara back against a wall and the inhaler she had been holding broke on her, the yellow gas surrounding her. Before Tag could come at her there was a Flash and wind tossed Tag back. Both Rae and Barry had shown with Sarge. "Sarge, go!" Barry said and the dog growled and went to attack Tag, chasing him out of the building.
"Kara, are you okay? You should have kept Samuel," Rae said, going up to Kara. The yellow gas was gone now. "Kara...?"
Kara was getting off the floor and when she looked at Rae, her eyes were glowing with heat vision. Kara didn't say a word as she ran out of the building with speed she had not had in a while, leaving her bow and arrows on the floor.
Kara ran where Sarge and Random Barry were now fighting with Tag. Tag was trying to use freeze breath against Barry but Kara ran up and grabbed Tag, punching him hard. "What?!" Tag asked. "But Super Blue Arrow…" Tag went to punch back but Kara dodged and flipped him.
"These are my powers, boy," Kara said as she punched Tag hard enough to knocked him out.
"Kara!" Rae said running out to join them. Kara was looking at the sky though, a large smile on her face as she bent her knees and jumped up, taking flight. "Samuel, go with her!" The eagle who had been watching from above flew after Kara.
"I thought you said she was powerless?" Barry said.
"She was," Rae said holding up the broken inhaler she had found. "She got a dose - a large dose from what I see here." Rae picked up the unconscious Tag and used her world hopping device to open a portal. She went through it with him and then returned through a new portal without him a second later. "Mind helping me drag the cases of XK back to my world...?"
"Sure, I like messing with the multiverse," Barry said, and Rae laughed. The two of them were quickly able to get all the cases through to Bounty Earth's Smallville. Sarge was helping as well.
"Barry?" Rae said once they were done. She was concerned for Kara but couldn't do anything about her wife for now. "Can I ask you a question?" Barry gave a nod. "Are you really happy with this new world? Would you want your old life back if you could have it?"
"Yeah... yes, I'm happy," Barry said with a nod. "I mean, we haven't been here long - a little over a month, but I've got my mom back. I have my own Rae. I now have this kind of awesome twin brother who let me attend comic con pretending to be him." Rae had to give a chuckle at that. "I have Caitlin, who I am now engaged to. It's some adjusting to a history we haven't actually lived but they all think we did live it, but yes I am happy. And no, I don't think I would want my old world back. Not now. I was kind of miserable on my original world. Why?"
"Well, Kara lost her powers years ago. Before we were together. When she lost them, Oliver took her under his wing and made her an archer. The multiverse became wide spread known and she started a business. Then we got together and our relationship moved fast. I'd like to think she was happy, even without her powers. That she didn't care anymore, but I have never seen her smile like that. I guess I was wondering if it was really possible to be happy with a new life and, well, you would know," Rae said.
"Hey, I am sure Kara is happy with you," Barry said putting an arm around Rae and wiping away a tear that Rae didn't realize she had shed. "She never thought she would fly again. When the XK wears off, she'll be coming home to you having re-lieved her glory days."
"What if the XK somehow heals her and she comes back with her powers?" Rae asked.
"Then you have a full Kryptonian powered wife. Nothing more," Barry said, hugging her. "And I got to go. It's mine, Cisco, and Caitlin shift at the jail today."
"Jail?" Rae asked.
"The one we think is Hero Earth inspired... or one Paragon's random stray idea," Barry mused. "We don't know. Come Sarge." With that, the two left, leaving Rae there wondering if she should wait for Kara before heading back to her world to go tell Lana Lang that the job was done.

It was late that night when Kara and Samuel came into the house back home.
"There's some dinner left," Rae said. "I picked up the kids. They are asleep."
"Sorry, I was… the XK didn't wear out for a while," Kara said. "And I just couldn't stop flying until it did. It… was…"
"So, it did wear off," Rae said.
"Yeah, unfortunately," Kara said, a little sadly now. "Did you by any chance get my bow and arrows?"
"They are here," Rae said as Kara sat down.
"You look like you want to say something," Kara turned to Rae as she said this.
"Yes," Rae sighed. "Kara, I know you were happy with the powers but…."
"I felt whole again," Kara admitted. "Like a part of me that was missing was back."
"But there's nothing missing," Rae said. "I know you don't have all the powers of normal Kryptonians, but it means nothing. You'd never have powers if you lived on Krypton," Kara gave nod at this. "Kara, that stuff is addictive. You should have seen Tag when he woke up with it gone and he couldn't take another dose. He went crazy! Please, if you love me, don't go searching out XK anymore."
"Of course, I love you," Kara said kissing Rae's cheek. "I promise love, no more XK. It was just an accident."

The next morning, Rae and Kara were in bed. Rae moved over and gave Kara a kiss.
"You know, I was thinking..." Rae said and Kara gave a nod. "What if next year at this time we're adding another member to this family? We were always talking about having three and Alister and Bella will be potty trained by then. Maybe we should start researching what it would take for me to be the one to carry a kid with my powers?"
"And see if Clark is still willing to donate," Kara agreed.
"Of course," Rae said, going to kiss Kara again when her cellphone rang. "It's the office… must be a transferred multiverse call." Rae picked up the phone. They had the system phone set to automatically go to her cell. "Hello?"
"Where should I email the instructions for the chickens?" Rae recognized another Kara's voice.
"Chickens?" Rae asked.
"Kryptonian Chickens," this other Kara said. "Sorry it took me so long to call, but Rae is the one with the system so had to wait for Winn or Barbara to show me how to work it."
"That's not answering a lot of questions," Rae said. "Who is this?"
"Kara," the other Kara said.
"Which Kara? What world?" Rae asked as her own Kara giggled.
"Oh, I think you call us Old Justice," the Kara on the phone said back.
"The world almost exactly like New Justice's Flashpoint?" Rae asked. "Who took Kryptonian Chickens from you."
"Barry," Kara said, and Rae had to groan. "Look the eggs laid under the yellow sun will be near impossible to crack. You want to make something with red sun. They'll be fine taking out into the yellow sun as long as they were laid under the red sun. I can email the rest of the instructions."
"Yeah, I'll text you Barry's email," Rae said hanging up the phone and then sending the text. "I'm going to go see why Barry has Kryptonian chickens..." Rae told her Kara, who laughed as Rae summoned her Flash suit and ran off.
Kara waited a moment and then took her cellphone out, sure that Rae had gone. She pushed a button to dial a number.
"Hey Clark?" Kara said when her cousin answered. "Can you tell me more about XK...?"
Post Chapter Note: And yes, this chapter and last take place at the same time. It also seems that Bounty has become our 'Superman & Lois world' as it had the John Henry Irons plot and now this XK plot. I hope you enjoyed.
