AN: Hey everyone. This is where the reboot officially starts to take effect. I hope you enjoy reading this chapter as much I enjoyed writing it.
-Unknown Location-
'As I walk through and look over the destruction that has claimed all I once knew, I cannot help but ask the same question over and over again: how could one of our own do this to us?' the being mentally asked himself as he found himself walking though the charred remains of what had once been a village.
'This village once hummed with the laughter of children, the old generation telling tales reminiscing over times long gone, and the grateful laughter of star-struck lovers.' he continued to think as he now found himself approaching the rusted and falling down gates of what had been a royal palace that had fallen from the clouds themselves.
'The Emperor and his family used to occupy these grand and majestic halls.' the being thought to himself as he walked through the collapsed double doors and into the grand hallway. Upon entry he noted a faded and torn, but still relatively intact painting that had fallen to the floor and know lay propped up against the wall. The being went up to the painting and looked it over. Noting the emperor, his wife, son, daughter, and two grandchildren. 'Multiple generations grew up in this once majestic place that was a symbol of peace and prosperity for all of our world.' he thought sadly as he reached out and attempted to touch the slightly torn painting, only to have his hand phase right through the painting. The palace now faded away and he found himself standing at the entry to a small cottage stone home inside the forest.
'My home...' he thought to himself as he entered into what was once his sanctuary of peace and comfort as he looked along the walls to see if any of the photographs remained that had been framed on the wall. To his non-surprise most of the photos where ripped, shriveled up or had withered away having had nobody to properly care for them for over 15 years. However one photo remained intact, and it was one that brought a tear to his golden eyes. 'My wife...' he thought sadly to himself as the memories of what had happened to her suddenly returned to him despite the current state he was in, and he couldn't help but let out a small howl of anguish. It was a sound of pain and longing, yet fear and regret, and vengeance and heartbreak. Suddenly his home faded away and he now found himself standing also in a place he recognized all to well.
'This is where it began, and a place I will never forget..." he thought bitterly to himself as he now found himself walking through the bombed out and hallowed remains of what was once his worlds biggest city. 'With the reveal of the betrayal of one of our greatest warriors, so too went the will of some of our people. But I like so many refused to give up, even though time was not on our side, we fought and died to prove our point: we would not surrender our free will, without a fight. So many of us died, and now I am only one of two that remain. The traitor still lives within the emperors empire, while I remain in this void waiting for the time to awaken. But when I do, rest assured, I will come for you, and I will avenge those who suffered and died, and then, I will kill you, Vulpine.' the being thought to himself as everything around him melted into one big color and then faded into black.
-Imperious's Throne Room-
Awakening from a deep state of meditation, Imperious quickly sent a messenger to summon Vulpine, and a few minutes later he entered into the emperor's throne room dropping to one knee while doing so.
"Master." Vulpine said curtly as he bowed his head low in respect for the Dragon Emperor.
"Vulpine, it is almost time for you to be introduced to your target, and her friends. I have a plan for you to appear like a hero, and that while cliché, will build the first pillars of trust." Imperious informed Vulpine.
"What is your plan?" Vulpine asked his emperor. In response Imperious waved his scaly clawed hands and two apparitions materialized out of thin air, showing two image of two humans who where unknown to Vulpine, but known to Imperious.
"These are the Inhuman criminals Exile and Sheath. They are deadly enemies to our targets allies. They tried to kill them on more than one occasion, and the girl, Sheath, actually almost killed the Ghost Spider, while managing to kill the only man she ever loved." Imperious said with a small smile upon his face which couldn't be seen due to the darkness in the throne room.
"Any way I could twist that to my advantage?" Vulpine asked.
"I would steer clear of trying that. Wraith tried it, and it helped to accelerate his own demise, then again it was all part of the master plan..." Imperious mused, which earned a smile from Vulpine upon the mention of Wraith's death. "In a few hours time a convoy will be leaving a maximum security S.H.I.E.L.D. prison to transfer these to convicts to another compound. With a little... magical assistance they will break free of their captors and be on the run for their freedom. The Secret Warriors will give chase, and that's where you come in, Vulpine." Imperious said smoothly.
"Sounds like a plan. However my lord, I noticed a little hitch..." Vulpine said in a tone that indicated he was embarrassed to have spoken out against his masters plan, but still he decided to elaborate. "These two Inhuman criminals might be powerful, but they are outnumbered by these Secret Warriors. Our target joining them also increases their power, and I know very well what our people can do, better so than she does." Vulpine let that hang in the air, for Imperious knew what that meant.
"Rest assured Vulpine, I have thought of what you just mentioned, and I have a plan to more than tip the scales in your favor... in fact I plan to separate her from the group, and that's where you come in..."
To Be Continued...
