Chapter V

It had been a few months since Naruto moved in with Sasuke and the creation of Team Seven. Sakura still couldn't accept that Sasuke was actually a girl and she was jealous that Naruto had moved in with Sasuke. Sasuke on the other hand was thoroughly enjoying sharing her house with Naruto even if the golden blonde was completely oblivious to her true feelings.

Currently Naruto and Sasuke were in a heated spar without using jutsu and only limiting themselves to taijutsu. Sasuke was using her clan's interceptor style which focused mostly on countering an enemy though to be fully effective it required an active sharingan which Sasuke did not yet possess. Naruto was using a modified version of the Hyuga Clan's Juken.

Naruto was close to Hyuga Neji, the older cousin of Hinata who had a massive crush on Naruto, something Naruto was oblivious to even though Neji had told him multiple times. In fact Neji was the one who taught Naruto to Juken and helped him modify it to fit his body.

Sakura was on the sidelines watching the spar while trying to create medical ninjutsu chakra. Sakura was not as strong as Naruto or Sasuke nor did she have the drive to train the way they did. Her reasoning? Sasuke wouldn't like an overly muscular girl. Kakashi was at a loss as to what to do with Sakura but he let her pursue medical training as it would still allow her to be useful to team seven.

"Alright that's enough, let's take an hour to freshen up and meet at the Mission Hall." Kakashi said.

Naruto and Sasuke stopped their spar and turned toward Kakashi.

"I hope it's not more useless chores." Sasuke said.

"I'd just be glad if we actually got to do our missions without being turned away because of the Kyubi." Naruto said under his breath too low to be heard by anyone.

"One hour." Kakashi said again.

Team Seven left the training ground and went their separate ways. Naruto and Sasuke went to the Uchiha district, Sakura took the long way around the village to the Uchiha district to spy on Sasuke. And Kakashi made his way to the Mission Hall to wait for his team.

Naruto and Sasuke were in the bath house of the Uchiha Compound washing up from their soar. Sasuke was on the girl's side with Naruto on the boy's. On the outside of the wall looking through a peephole was Sakura looking through at Sasuke.

'Even in the privacy of the clan home Sasuke-kun still wears that stupid henge of a girl. Could he be seeking the affection of a boy by pretending to be a girl? No that doesn't make sense if Sasuke-kun wanted to date a boy he would have used this henge in the academy. But he can't really be a girl can he?" Sakura asked herself.

Naruto and Sasuke only spent about ten of their sixty minutes in the bath house and spent the next forty minutes eating lunch. Naruto went to the fridge and pulled out two pre-made homemade bento, one with cherry tomatoes and onigiri and the other was onigiri and sushi. When it was ten til Naruto and Sasuke left the compound and jumped up onto a nearby rooftop and began to run to the Mission Hall.

Arriving at the Mission Hall Sasuke and Naruto saw Kakashi but no Sakura. As Naruto and Sasuke dropped down and walked over to where Kakashi was sitting with his nose in the familiar orange book Sasuke coughed once to alert Kakashi to her's and Naruto's presence.

"So you've arrived. Where's Sakura?" Kakashi asked, closing his book.

"I'm here." came Sakura's voice seemingly out of breath.

Naruto noted Sakura's condition and narrowed his eyes; he had felt her outside the clan compound earlier but said nothing.

"Good now let's go in and get our mission." Kakashi said.

Inside the Mission Hall sat Sarutobi Hiruzen, Sandaime Hokage and Umino Iruka.

"Ah Team Seven here for your set of missions?" Hiruzen asked.

"Actually Hokage-sama, I was thinking that maybe my team is ready for their first C-Rank mission." Kakashi replied.

"A C-Rank you say?" Hiruzen asked. "Well I do have something. An escort mission to Nami."

"We'll take it." Kakashi said.

"Iruka go get the client." Hiruzen said.

Iruka rose from his seat and left the room. A minute later Iruka walked back in with a shorter man drinking from a bottle of saki.

"This is my protection? I asked for ninja not children." the man said.

Not a second later a kunai flew through the air and embedded itself into the wall next to the man's head.

"Don't underestimate us because of our age. You asked for ninja? Well we are ninja." Sasuke said in a calm yet deadly tone.

'Sasuke-kun is so cool even in that henge.' Sakura thought.

"This is Tazuna, a master bridge builder from Nami. he has asked for protection while he works on his bridge." Hiruzen explained.

"If you really are ninja then I expect you to fight with everything you have even if it costs you your lives." Tazuna said.

Naruto narrowed his eyes at Tazuna but said nothing. He had a feeling that they were being deceived but he had no proof.

"Alright go home and get your go bags and pack for a month we leave in an hour." Kakashi said.

The three genin all vanished in a swirl of leaves and made their way to their homes to get their go bags.

Naruto and Sasuke went to the Uchiha compound and didn't have to worry about anyone asking annoying questions. Sakura wasn't so lucky.

"So your first c-rank? Be careful Sakura and don't do anything rash. Leave the heavy work to Naruto and Sasuke girls shouldn't be on the frontlines anyway you're best suited for support." Mebuki said.

'Even mom believes Sasuke is still a boy.' Sakura thought to herself before speaking out loud. "I will Kaa-chan no need to worry about me."

One hour later Team Seven was at the front gates with Tazuna ready to head out.

After a day and a half of walking Naruto was in front of the group keeping an eye out for threats to his team and client. Kakashi was reading his book, Sasuke was minding her own business and trying to ignore Sakura, Sakura was pestering Sasuke about her female form trying to get Sasuke to go on a date with her, and Tazuna was drinking.

Naruto saw a puddle on the side of the road and narrowed his eyes and looked to Kakashi who nodded his head. Naruto kept walking past the puddle pretending he didn't see it as he led Team Seven and Tazuna past the puddle. Once all of team seven and Tazuna were past the puddle two figures rose from the puddle.

When the figures were fully risen they rushed Tazuna. However they never reached their target. Both Sasuke and Naruto turned and blocked the attacks from the two assassins with simply Kunai. Sakura was frightened by the sudden appearance of enemy shinobi while Kakashi stayed back to see just how good his two genin were.
