Chapter IX

Team Seven arrived back in Konoha and Sakura had seemingly gotten over whatever happened between her and Sasuke as Sakura clung to Sasuke's arm.

"Sasuke-chan let's go on a date. I can make the best girlfriend ever." Sakura said.

"No." was all the raven said loosening her arm from the pink haired banshee.

"Sakura, did you honestly think things would change after what you did on the mission?" Kakashi asked.

"But I'm her soulmate. She has to love me." Sakura said defiantly.

Naruto let out a single laugh and walked away.

"I need to report our mission to the Hokage. I want everyone to meet me at the usual place tomorrow at noon." Kakashi said.

"I'll let Sasuke-chan know." Naruto said as he kept walking.

"So the mission to Nami was a success." Hiruzen said. "And Naruto tapped into the Kyubi's chakra while going after Gato?"

"I'm afraid so." Kakashi replied.

"I'll have Jiraiya return to Konoha to train Naruto." Hiruzen said.

"Can we trust Naruto not to harm Sasuke?" Kakashi asked.

"Naruto is loyal to his friends. Whether Kyubi influenced or not Naruto won't turn on Konoha." Hiruzen said turning in his chair to look at the Hokage Monument.

"I get that you care about Naruto Hokage-sama but can we be completely sure about that. Naruto killed countless thugs to get to Gato. Had I not stopped him he would have killed Gato." Kakashi reiterated.

"I know Kakashi. Naruto has a good heart and will always protect others. Jiraiya will teach Naruto about the Kyubi and more. My guess is that Naruto didn't realize he was using the Kyubi's chakra." Hiruzen said.

"I'll trust in your judgment Hokage-sama." Kakashi said. "Now my other concern Sakura beached the trust between herself and Sasuke by sexually assaulting Sasuke."

"Yes I know. You wanted to have her moved to another team." Hiruzen said.

"Hai." Kakashi said.

"I can have Sakura moved to Team Eight in place of Kiba. Kurenai said Kiba has been struggling under her guidance and thinks he will do better with you." Hiruzen said. "Kurenai had come to me during your mission to Nami with her concerns. I was going to talk to you upon your return but when you told me about what Sakura did I didn't need to ask you your opinion. Not to mention Sakura had been distracted being on the same team as Sasuke for some time."

"Hai. I will take Kiba he might do better on a combat team than a support team." Kakashi said.

"Good I will inform Kuernai and Kiba of the changes." Hiruzen said.

The next morning Naruto and Sasuke were sitting on a log at Training Ground three staring at the Memorial Stone waiting on Kakashi and Sakura. As the two were waiting, Kiba arrived with Akamaru on his head. Naruto was the first to react to Kiba's arrival.

"Kiba? What are you doing here?" Naruto asked.

"Apparently I'm on your team now. Yesterday at dinner a messenger came and told me I was now on team seven and Sakura was on team eight." Kiba replied.

Sasuke let out a sigh of relief. "Good now I won't have to deal with Sakura constantly asking me for a date or trying to force herself on me."

"What do you mean force herself onto you?" Naruto asked not knowing what Sakura did in Nami.

"Don't worry about it Naruto, the problem has been dealt with." Sasuke said.

Just then, Kakashi arrived his nose in his book. "So everyone is here, good. Now then let's get started. As of today Kiba is now part of Team Seven and we will be training you three into the dirt."

"What's the purpose of this training?" Sasuke asked.

"Easy, you three will be participating in the Chunin Exams coming up next month and I want you to show everyone that even a newbie can become chunin." Kakashi replied.

"Hell yea!" Kiba shouted.

Naruto wasn't expecting the loud shout and it hurt his ears some.

"Not so loud." Naruto said as he used his pinky to reach his inner ear and message it.

"Now let's get started." Kakashi said snapping his book closed.

One month had passed and all the Jonin Squad Leaders of Genin teams were in the Hokage Tower in a lard meeting room.

"The time has come. The Chunin Exams are upon us. Since we want more participants the exams are being held in Tetsu no Kuni. We are expecting quite a large turn out from all five major ninja villages and even some of the smaller villages." Hiruzen explained. "Now who here is planning to enter their teams into the exams?"

Kakashi stepped forward, "I Hatake Kakashi Jonin Squad Leader of Team Seven consisting of Inuzuka Kiba, Uzumaki Naruto, and Uchiha Sasuke herby enter Team Seven into the Chunin Exams."

"I Maito Gai Jonin Squad Leader of Team Nine consisting of Hyuga Neji, Rock Lee, and Higarashi Tenten hereby enter Team Nine into the Chunin Exams."

I Yuhi Kurenai Jonin Squad Leader of Team Eight consisting of Haruno Sakura, Hyuga Hinata, and Aburame Shino hereby enter Team Eight into the Chunin Exams."

'I Sarutobi Asuma Jonin Squad Leader of Team Ten consisting of Yamanaka Ino, Nara Shikamaru, and Akimichi Choji hereby enter Team Ten into the Chunin exams."

"No you can't enter rookies into these exams they'll get killed." Iruka protested.

"Iruka, calm yourself." Hiruzen said, amused. "If the Squad Leaders believe they are ready to join these exams, who are we to judge?"

"But Hokage-sama. I was most of these students academy teacher I know what they can do." Iruka said.

"And we have been training them for nearly six months now." Kakashi said. "Did you know that Sasuke and Naruto defeated enemy shinobi who were more experienced than they were? We wouldn't be entering our genin into these exams if they were not ready. Most of us here were chunin at a young age."

"If there are no more entries then you are all dismissed. Go prepare your genin for the trek to Testu no Kuni." Hiruzen said.

Team Seven were at a local cafe drinking some coffee and eating snacks all wondering why Kakashi had told them to meet there instead of their usual training ground.

"I wonder why Kakashi-sensei told us to meet here. Shouldn't we be training for the exams?" Naruto asked.

"It's true that there is not much time left before the exams." Sasuke agreed.

Just then Kakashi entered the cafe and joined his genin at their table.

"I know you are all wondering why I told you to meet here instead of the training grounds. Well today was the meeting for the Chunin Exams. I have entered you all into the exams. The exams will be held in Tetsu no Kuni. We leave Konoha tomorrow. It will take us about a week to reach Tetsu no Kuni and Testu no Kuni is in the north with snowfall year round. So pack accordingly." Kakashi explained.

"Sweet." Kiba said.

"Now go home and pack accordingly then meet at the main gate tomorrow morning at nine o'clock in the morning." Kakashi said dismissing his genin.

A/N: Hey all Azrael here I hope you enjoyed this chapter and the announcement of the Chunin Exams. I wonder how it will go with the exams being in a different location than the canin and will Sasuke still be branded with the curse seal?
