Naruto squared off with Dosu who looked annoyed in his lone visible eye.

"You know we had orders to only kill the Uchiha but I think we'll get bonus points for killing Konoha's most hated." Dosu said.

"Yea about that. Did you really expect to kill Sasuke-chan without having to fight her team?" Naruto asked.

"Not really." Dosu said as he rushed Naruto.

As Dosu reached Naruto he went to punch Naruto who ducked under the punch. However a sharp whistle sounded from Dosu's gauntlet as the gauntlet moved past Naruto.

"Gah." Naruto cried out holding his ears. "Ok so you use sound to fight, that's interesting."

"You can't win Kyubi, just accept your fate and die." Dosu said.

"Well that's your first mistake." Naruto said calmly. "Jukenho: Lingchi."

In a matter of seconds Naruto had delivered sixty-four lethal cuts to Dosu.

"Impossible." Dosu said as he dropped to one knee then to the snow blood pooling around him.

As Team Seven eliminated their opponents Naruto searched all three bodies and found their scroll and pocketed it.

"Let's go, we've wasted enough time." Naruto said.

At the top of the mountain Team Seven found the rest of the teams that had passed the second exam.

"Looks like you three just barely made it, good job." came Anko's voice from behind team seven. "Alright Maggots those of you who made it this far congratulations you get to proceed to the final exam. However I'm afraid there are still too many participants so to sort this out we will have a preliminary elimination round to cut down on the number of participants in the final exam."

The gathered genin all looked at one another then back to Anko. However, another ninja stepped forward.

"Please follow me to the arena where we will go over the rules for this elimination round." the unknown shinobi said.

The genin followed the man to the arena where they were met by their jonin squad leaders. Kakashi walked over to his team and smirked.

"I knew you three would make it." Kakashi said.

Sasuke suddenly felt a sharp pain shoot through her body stemming from her neck, the curse mark.

"Something wrong Sasuke?" Kakashi asked.

"No it's nothing." Sasuke said.

"Welcome all of you." came Sarutobi's voice from the center of the arena. 'Allow me to tell you a bit about the Chunin exams. The Chunin Exams were created to replace open warfare; they were created as a means to build relations between the ninja villages and showcase the strength of our villages without the need of open warfare that would only lead to hostile relations and needless death."

The genin listened to the aged Kage's words and nodded in agreement they had seen many ninja from other villages that had fought hard to get this far and war would just bring pain and suffering that didn't need to come.

"Now I wish you all the best of luck in these preliminaries." Hiruzen said.

Another shinobi stepped forward to speak.

"The preliminaries and final exam will be a one on one match. The match ends when one party forfeits, dies, or is knocked out. Once the fight has been declared over, fighting must end any continuation of the fight will result in disqualification." Hayate said. "Does everyone understand the rules?"

"Hai." was the unified answer.

"Now turn your attention to the black screen. Two names will be displayed at random. Everyone but the names displayed will go to the waiters box and wait their turn." the man said.

The screen lit up and began cycling through names at an incredible speed before stopping on two names, Uchiha Sasuke and Aburame Shino.

"Will Uchiha Sasuke and Aburame Shino step forward? All others move to the waiting area." Hayate asked.

Sasuke knew about Shino and she knew she had to be careful fighting him even more so with this brand on her neck. Naruto wished Sasuke luck and told her to be careful before moving to the waiting area.

In the waiting area Kakashi was looking down at his student looking for anything out of place. Looking over Sasuke who was wearing her usual attire; high collared shirt, shorts, ninja sandals, Hitai-ate. Nothing seemed out of place but that's when he saw it, a seal on her neck three tomoe in a circle.

"Naruto what happened during the second phase of the exams?" Kakashi asked.

"We ran into some trouble first, a shinobi from Kusa attacked. Did something to me and I lost consciousness. Then when i finally came to a team wearing Hitai-ate with music notes on them attacked. We killed them but we almost got here too late." Naruto said.

"Kiba what happened after Naruto lost consciousness?" Kakashi asked.

"That Kusa nin bit Sasuke on the neck and she lost consciousness as well." Kiba said.

"I see." Kakashi said. "Excuse me, I need to go talk to someone."

Down in the arena Sasuke and Shino were squaring off.

"Are both parties ready to start?" Hayate asked.

"Hai." Both genin answered.

"Begin." Hayate said.

Shino was the first to act; he quickly summoned a cloud of tiny beetles that flew toward Sasuke. Sasuke quickly activated her Sharingan and drew two kunai and began to cut down the cloud. Shino saw Sasuke cutting down his hive but that could only delay for so long.

Sasuke jumped back that her tactic was only delaying the cloud from getting to her so she jumped back and made several hand seals while the was in the air. When Sasuke landed she landed on the last seal.

"Gokakyu no Jutsu!" Sasuke yelled as she took a deep breath and unleashed a stream of fire from her mouth incinerating the cloud.

Shino saw the display of fire and raised his hand. "I forfeit the match. I have no way to defeat my opponent." Shino said.

"Winner by forfeit Uchiha Sasuke." Hayate said loudly.

The screen lit up once again cycling through the names. After a few seconds the names stopped displaying Haruno Sakura and Yamanaka Ino. Naruto saw this and facepalmed.

"Great, a battle of the fangirls." Naruto said under his breath to quiet for anyone to hear him."

Meanwhile while Sakura and Ino were fighting Sasuke and Kakashi were in a private room away from everyone. Sasuke was sitting on the floor with her shirt off wearing just her bra and shorts with a blush on her face she wasn't used to being exposed to anyone.

"Sasuke I'm going to put a seal on your that should keep this curse seal at bay. However the seal only works if you feed it if you use the curse seal of you own will then the failsafe won't work." Kakashi explained.

"I understand sensei." Sasuke said.

A/N: Hey all Azrael here I hope you all enjoy this chapter the start of the prelims Just know there will be changes with the fights as you already saw with Sasuke vs Shino and also the death of team Dosu means that another team had to take their place in the final exam, I wonder who it will be.
