Amelia Janeway didn't understand her parents' excitement about having Seven of Nine aboard the Stargazer. She was a Borg. Who wanted to meet her? They were dangerous, and the Starfleet made them slowly extinct. It would be better for everyone, not to meet her either. But her parents were still waiting for the time to meet her. Fortunately, Zimt with the big boobs, prevented them. She said, the Commander had lost her children, so there was not the proper time to meet the old friends.

But her parents were persistent. They wanted to meet her, no matter what. When Amelia visited them, she found Counselor Troi in their quarters.

"Of course I could help you" she said, and smiled to Amelia.

"Could we go now?" Kathryn asked her happily, and waved to her daughter. "You and Peter could also come with us, and meet a great woman."

"Mom, she is just a Borg."

"She is forbidden to even being here" Peter protested.

"And there must have been a reason why they were banned from the vicinity of mankind."

Deanna Troi felt anger and disgust from the youngsters, somehow mirroring her own initial feeling toward the Commander of the ship. The Janeway couple were right. Amelia and Peter had to meet Seven of Nine, to have a first-hand experience of the Borg. Maybe, they could change the life of these unfortunate beings.

Deanna stood up, and asked them to follow her to the quarters of Seven of Nine. The couple happily, while the young ones reluctantly. It seemed, the young ones were right. The doorbell of the quarters didn't work. Deanna tried twice, three times. She realized, that someone turned that off. Seven's own doctor did that. The Counselor tapped her commbadge, to call her, and in the next moment, Zimt came out of the quarters.

"Counselor!" she greeted her.

"We would like to visit the Commander" Deanna said, intolerant of contradiction.

"It is not recommended" the your doctor told to them. "Please, go home. You have a lot of time until the Delta quadrant."

"But the Admiral, and her family want to visit their old friend. I think this would be a positive effect on the patient."

"The commander is in mourning. For now, she sees almost everyone as an enemy. Her behavior is still unpredictable. Who knows how she will react to visitors?"

"I am the Counselor of this ship" Deanna stated calmly and sternly. "So, Ensign, please go, report to the sickbay. We will visit the Commander."

"Aye, ma'am" Zimt replied, and tried to avoid the satisfied grin of Peter Beckett, and Amelia Janeway. In fact, she needed to charge the tranquilizer anyway.

As Zimt left the corridor, Deanna Troi opened the door. She realized immediately, that the young doctor didn't lie. The quarters were dark, Elle's toys were scattered everywhere on the floor. On the table there were the cold remnants of the breakfast, or better the whole breakfast, that the Commander didn't eat. Zimt tried to keep the quarters in tidy, but it seemed, the Commander didn't cooperate. So Zimt was right. Seven of Nine's behavior was unpredictable. Deanna was about to blow a retreat when Admiral Janeway spoke to woman, sitting in the darkness of the quarters.

"Seven..."

"What do you want?" the Commander asked in a neutral voice.

"I am Kathryn Janeway" she explained, as she remembered, that Seven wouldn't recognized her.

"I know precisely, who you are. What do you want this time?"

"I just want to know if you are alright?" The Admiral asked her nicely. The old woman also noticed the circumstances, and gave right to the young windsurfer. This was not a good time to visit at all.

"No" the laconic reply came.

Seven didn't want to speak to them either. She was sitting on the couch – luckily, she was fully dressed – hugging a toy duck, and stared to a certain point of the air, where there weren't anything. Or the picture was only seen by her. This made Admiral Janeway worried, but pissed off her daughter.

"At least you could be thankful of my mother!" she recommended the Commander in an angry voice.

"Thankful? To Kathryn Janeway?" the laconic voice was followed by a nervous laugh. "Me? Why?"

"She freed you from the Borg!"

"I curse her every day since then."

"Cursing her? She gave you the chance of a free life! Free from the violence of the Borg!"

"Just to enjoy the violence of the Mankind. And believe me, the Borg's intentions are pure. They want you to be the part of the Collective. They offer you a life. The Human only offer you death."

Silence fell into the room.

"Do you want to go back to the Collective?" Kathryn Janeway asked with heavy heart.

It was the first thing Seven asked her: if she become fully human, would she return to the collective at free will? Kathryn thought, that Seven would never chose the Borg again, as long as she experienced the advantages of individuality.

"Yes. I am Borg" the simple answer came. "I want to return to the collective on my own free will."

"Please, think it over one more time!" the Admiral begged her.

"We are heading to the Borg space" Seven informed the others. " When we arrive, I leave this ship, and return to them."

"That's why we don't allow a single Borg drone to live!" Amelia cry with a face contorted with rage. She pulled out her phaser, and shoot the drone.

But her effort was wasted. A blue energy field formed around Seven, and she remained unharmed.

"Do you really think, that a simple phaserbeam could do any harm to me?" Seven asked in a cold voice, which made cold sweats on their backs of the others.

"Do you really think, that I will allow you to tell the secrets of the Humanity to the Borg?" snarled the young girl.

"Secrets of the Humanity?" Seven laughed, and stood up. "What kind of secrets?"

"Our technological development!"

"Technological development? That's not a challenge to the Borg at all. The only secret of the Humanity, that there is no secret. The humankind's only "secret", that they don't want to allow to live any race, who are thinking about living their life otherwise. But it is not a secret, and not uncommon in this galaxy."
