Episode 12 - For Cosma II

In the headquarters of the world's greatest heroes turned monsters, Laserblast made a dash for the highest level of the main building. The tower shaped like a giant pointer finger led to a hoverlift that gravitates to the Patrol Ship parked atop. Its struts latched onto the base like a spider, deep enough that it likely would take the roof with it when it rockets away.

The One Blade said to himself, "Good thing the premises is just about empty when I checked. But all this radiation might actually…"

He knew full well the effects even regular Glorbs had on his body. Before, he was converted into a darker side of himself. But now, with that part of him gone, he wasn't so sure. As far as he knows, it may only make him sick. More than he already is since his mutation all those years ago.

"No... There's still time. So long as I concentrate on detonating the ship with Black Hat inside."

As he ascended up the lift with both his and Cosma's blades in hand, he could feel it. A few things became apparent almost immediately before he made it into the cruiser. One, the vats of glorbs were uncapped and leaking like oil. Two, he was so high in the air that the pressure was getting to him. Perhaps Black Hat knew as much would happen since even with his training, Venomous was still but an ordinary man. Regardless, he pushed forward and stood in front of the command deck where the mastermind behind all of it was appreciating a holographic display of the battle beneath them.

Slowly, he turned around with his arms behind his back and bore a wide smirk. "Take a good look, Professor. I have achieved what took the Mawgu and the Syndicate decades to accomplish - turning so-called heroes against each other. Even those pathetic, self-righteous ones from my world have joined in the slaughter. And you, Venomous, are at the heart of it all."

"I'm flattered," Laserblast said in disgust. "From what I gather, this bomb's leaking with your blood."

"Of course! Though it is more than enough on its own, I've taken the liberty of adding to it a portion of my essence to ensure everyone's transformations remain permanent. Once this ship detonates, no one in the world will ever be safe."

He lifted his hands, clearly basking in the spectacle out the large sky dome.

"Soon, I will have an army large enough to destroy the Toon Force once and for all! Only this time, it would be thanks in no small part to their own men."

Laserblast shook his head. "Not while I'm still here. No matter how much you've done to stop me, you still keep missing the target."

"Oh, I'm being honest when I say I knew you would survive, Venomous," Black Hat nodded. "Even a brute like Vilgax would not have succeeded with the support you've had these past months. The moment my Doctor informed me of your presence, I knew it was only a matter of time before we would cross paths again no matter who was sent to deal with you."

He turned back to the Professor raising his pointer finger. "Cosma's actions were the only factor that I could never have foreseen. She guaranteed you being here. But I am not worried. This experience has made you soft, even by name. And what better way to demonstrate that by showing what you've been missing out on?"

From beside him at his perch, the wounded Mr. Gar comes flying from the balcony crashing onto the main floor, bloodied and bruised. His glasses have been broken but still hide his eyes as lenses reflect from the light when he glares at Venomous with disgust in his voice.

"You…!" Gar tried to reach for Venomous only to collapse under his own weight, grasping his now limp leg. "Urgh…!"

Quietly stunned for a moment, Black Hat stroked his chin, "Hm... Perhaps his stoic nature's kept him resilient to the effects after all."

Laserblast got down on his knee to examine to the hero. "You tried facing Black Hat alone?"

"Who said I was alone," Gar asked.

He pointed to the back of the bridge where he was thrown. Out from a loud explosion through the walls came Foxtail, now bulkier than normal from a boost from the Glorbs, all while battling an equally turbonic Elodie, Rippie Roo, multiple holo-people from an otherwise absent Dr. Greyman, and several more random heroes battling the older ones.

Slowly but steadily, Garcia held his shoulder, stood up and told Venomous, "You've gotta a lotta nerve comin' here after all you did. Don't expect me to…"

"Forgive me," the Professor interrupted. "I wasn't asking for it."

Gar stopped himself for a long moment then smirked, "Glad to have ya back, Laserblast."

Hearing the familiar name, Foxtail rotated towards his direction, "LASERBLAST…?!"

"Laserblast, Venomous, whatever," Elodie shouted. "He's the bigger threat! When he's gone, everything will go back to normal!"

Her target hunched, "Will it, Elodie…?" He launched a beam with his laser which Rippie got in front of to punch into nothing. But this was just a distraction. Venomous sent a burst of wind in their direction, tearing up the floors and sending them through the walls! Some of the vats of glorbs spilled chemicals all over the place and even burst into flames as Laserblast ran for Foxtail, who took another container and chucked it at him! He swung and swung but none of his methods worked. All they did was spend his stamina when he was smacked against the bridge' balcony! He spun out the way of the tall one's fist and ducked under a shot from Elodie and another hero. And in the confusion, he used the Ball of Yarn to lasso one of them and swing them into Foxtail's side! Again, he focused on Black Hat to try and send a whirl his way. Yet the Professor was once again interrupted when Rippie punched the back of his head! His gust was sent the wrong direction and blew a gaping hole through the halls to the outside of the ship!

Some debris from it fell to the streets a huge distance down landing on the heroes attacking each other nearby. One of these heroes, Gl-0, was scolded for failing to avoid it and looking weak in front of the others from Black Hat's world. Yet all it did was make her even angrier as she grew to immense proportions! She not only crushed the one who insulted her under a truck, but she tossed the vehicle to Nanini's shuttle as it flew by! Despite her effort to avoid it, the engines were smashed and the ship began to spin as Boxman and Winnie manning the turrets held on tight!

Nanini shouted, "HOLD ONTO SOMETHING! WE'RE GOING DOWN!"

CRASH!

Almost immediately once the dust cleared, Nanini kicked the windshield open and hopped out with a crowbar, partnered by Winnie jumping from one of the buildings to meet her and Boxman on the field. Mikayla hopped out next to her master, bouncing and bobbing knowing what was to come. As crowds of corrupted heroes and villains swarm and prepare to attack, all seemed lost.

That was until a sudden burst of energy came blaring from the sky! A fireball blew everyone away from the crew in an instant! Just above the lot was Potato flying down to land in front of the ones at the ship.

"Cosma saved my life the other day. For that, I am no longer Potato. I am…SUPER BUNN!"

"…Yeah we'll work on the name," Winnie remarked.

"What's wrong with it?"

"Well, you don't hear me calling myself Super Woof."

"Heh, you think that's bad? Look at my partner's name!"

Just behind her came Boxbot Prime—the ultimate combination of Darrell, Shannon, Raymond, and even Jethro and Ernesto. The only one missing is Mikayla who quickly jumped into the mass to add to the legs.

"DADDY," they all said at once!

Dramatically, their father shed a tear and smiled, "I'm so proud of you…"

Just behind them, more enemies began to pop up from nowhere. Teleportation no doubt. The Boxbots collectively threw a punch to the ground which collapsed the surface to the sewers! Those left standing charged for them when Potato got up front to deliver a blast of ice breath that froze them in place! Winnie resisted the urge to smash the ice to pieces and instead focused on leaping atop a building and slashing the jets of a flying hero attempting to bomb them! He crashed near Carol fighting alongside Centurion who, despite missing an arm, kept fighting, tanking entire mobs with whips from their Combiner Magisword. A chop to one of the buildings collapsed it and buried some of the attackers underneath while Carol, being electrocuted by a supervillain, absorbed and fired the energy back!

"Com'on Centurion," she readied herself. "We can beat these guys!"

As Familiar, Centurion commented, "I'm more worried about Black Hat beating your ex than anything!"

"Don't worry," she replied, plowing another man into the stone ground! "I know it'll be alright in the end. It has to."

Just beside them, Penball along with a merged Darwin and Carrie soared and delivered a payload of explosions to the streets filled with crowds of enraged heroes and villains.

"This is more chaotic than those traffic jams back home," said Gumball merged with Penny.

The two were almost struck by the giant Gl-0 when she threw her arm back. The 41st Nicole, Pana, shot at her while strafing around the legs and several more Wattersons banded together to hold off the other corrupted. It was a grueling fight, but their combined strength made for an unstoppable force. The total opposite could be said on K.O.'s end where he had to contend with both Enid and Radicles, but now even more civilians clawing at him. Fink was occupied with the rest of Red Action's squad, and while the others handled K.O., his allies turned their attention to Turbo who they combined a blow against! He was able to block while being pushed back, then engaging in a high-speed fistfight before he was kicked by Enid in the neck! He threw his leg forward into Rad who flipped him into the ground! But this was his chance. Turbo fired a heat beam into his friend's face and blasted Enid with his palm!

"I know you hate me especially, but you've gotta stop this for K.O.'s sake!"

Radicles wiped the spec of blood from his lip and got back on one knee. "Oh… It isn't you, Turbo. You didn't go rogue and attack me and Enid. It's your twin!"

This bought Enid time to teleport behind the alternate K.O. and elbow his spine, sending him into shock! He swung back, but he was cornered by Radicles and attempted to return to help his brother only to be grappled by Rad yet again and continuously kicked by Enid. K.O. on the other hand was now being knocked around by a turbonic Combo Breaker and Judy!

"I looked up to you and you tried to kill us," said the robot before Judy punched K.O.'s cheeks!

"Your adolescents traumatized this entire city," Judy yelled.

Soon Dogmun came biting his leg then Diving Belle spawned from a fountain to hold him back.

"How does it feel knowing you were the gun," they asked collectively.

"IT STINKS!"

BOOM!

K.O. flexed as he shouted and exploded into a ball of fire! His hair got spikey and his eyes went feral as he took Diving Belle, flipped her into Dogmun, then lasered Combo Breaker into a pile of parts! He survives, of course, but he doesn't have time to magnetize back in place when K.O. atomized all but his head!

"That's NOT me anymore," he barked in a half-turbonic form! "And it's definitely not you!"

Seeing Turbo in trouble, he aims for Radicles to even the odds, rocketing straight into him! He pins him against a truck and hits him several times in the face, but none of it works. It makes his friend even angrier as he's pushed back with both arms held.

With a smirk, Rad said to him, "It is now. And God, I always wanted to do this!"

Unable to remove himself, K.O. tried kneeing the alien's chin but there wasn't enough force in it to phase him. Enid saw this and with her stamina used it on Turbo to send him into a crowd of more of the turbonic ones, who all began to topple over him as he shielded himself trying not to use deadly force. Just when K.O. managed to get himself free from Rad's grasp, Enid dashed at him and broke him arm with a devastating kick!

"GAAAGH," he screamed while trying to hold his limb by the joint!

He attempted to shoot a fireball at the two of them, but Radicles grabbed his hand and exploded the ki against his palm! Unable to use his arms, he tried headbutting one of them, yet Enid easily elbowed him into the ground! As more of the corrupted gang up on them, they see K.O. in a weakened state and proceeded to beat on him; K.O. pleading once to stop! But it flew on deaf ears. Soon his leg was snapped, then his nose bled, along with other limbs that were being hit with nearby objects people were using as weapons. As he began to black out, now numb to the pain from all the blood loss being spilled out, he sees only his two best friends smiling as they punch the life out of him… Until…

BOOSH!

Almost all but him are thrown huge distances away from his resting place from an explosion large enough to shake the Earth! And from the center of the crater was Shadowy Fink. She had arrived with her two robots beside her, and each was pissed! Startled by the blast, Fink and Turbo both turned their attention to them and were stunned at Shadowy Fink's turbo cuffs ready for combat.

"What have you done to my punching bag," she asked all the dark ones. "You're supposed to be the GOOD GUYS!"

Both Robots jumped and brought their fists together, engaging their super modes to launch a combined laser that, combined with Shadowy Fink's, led to a series of explosions across the street to the beach! Those that fought K.O. and Turbo were instantly covered in ash and knocked out, but more would come.

The situation in the flying island wasn't any better as Venomous continued to fend against the infected with Gar being powerless to help. He watched as his old friend was struck a few times by some of the heroes but kept his stance, occasionally lassoing someone and flinging them into another. Whenever possible, he'd throw a Whirlwind at Black Hat who kept teleporting or fading into shadows. It made the Professor angry, but he tried to keep his calm. All he'd do is make everyone else around him madder. But so would every hit he brings.

Soon when he was near exhausted, his helmet was exploded from a mere touch from Elodie followed by Rippie Roo coming in to sock Laserblast's jaw! He swung back and while stunned managed to catch another punch from Foxtail before it could meet his half burnt face! His Ball of Yarn Magisword was all that was keeping him tethered to something to pull back when things went sound.

"I'm not…giving up on you all…Foxtail…!"

"Oh yes you will," the turbonic one snapped! "You always do!"

SNAP!

Cosma's copy of Bimm's weapon broke in half from Foxtail crushing it! But this caused Laserblast to fly backward from the tether he set up whilst sending a Whirlwind towards the tall one! She was blown across the floor but kept herself steady, seeming to charge up something in her mouth. Unexpectedly, she launched a beam from her throat aimed straight for the One Blade who, not wanting to break another Magisword, drew his palm forward and was completely engulfed by the energy!

"WAAAAAGH!"

He screamed from the pain as the laser burned through the ship to the outside where it was visible from Tai's perspective. He silently watched after kicking two people into a wall and looking for a transport.

Just when the smoke cleared in the bridge, one thing was certain. Laserblast miraculously survived! His arm was scorched beyond recognition, coming off as an oozy version of what it once was and complementing his scarred face. Ignoring the agony, he swung his Magisword again, hard enough that it sent Foxtail out of the ship and off the floating island itself!

Annoyed by all that's transpired, the One Blade ran for Black Hat immediately. His target was right where he wanted him. That was before Rippie Roo came from above to hit the back of his head! She knocked him over and began rapidly stomping on his spine before he flipped over to launch her away with another whirl! Rippie was sent crashing through the sky roof and off the island like Foxtail, leaving the Professor to continue his pursuit.

"I'm not going down that easily!"

BANG!

Elodie shot at Venomous' back with a glorb-powered ray gun and got close enough to resort to smacking him in the cheek! Hard enough that he drew blood when he fell to the side! The others in the room with him gathered and knocked him around with a few kicks and punches before he flexed back up along with a huge burst of energy! Perhaps the glorb radiation helped him generate an ounce of power he had in him, enough to throw off everyone!

"Sorry kid. But you're in my…way!" He grabbed onto Elodie by the head and, like everyone else, flung her to the outside world.

Limping towards Black Hat again, he sighed, "Alright… What's coming up next on the TV schedule?"

"None," the supervillain clapped. "You've taken care of my only opposition! They were the ones who resisted the Glorbs long enough to fight back but still succumbed to the effects. And soon, the bomb will detonate!"

"Not if," a gush of blood, a darker shade of his lavender skin, spilled from his oozing arm! "Urgh…! Not if I have anything to say about it…"

"At the rate you're goin', he might be right," Mr. Gar panicked.

The wall near him toppled and Tai, having somehow made his way aboard, burst in with two other Nicole clones beside him.

Laserblast looked at them, "Tai! How're you not infected?!"

"Magic," he blatantly answered.

"…Ok. All of you, grab Garcia and take him to safety. And make sure everybody's off the island."

"But what about Black Hat," asked one of the clones.

"He's mine."

Even Gar was put off guard hearing him say that. But he ultimately relented and went along with the Wattersons to exit the ship. As soon as they left, Laserblast faced Black Hat again, readying Cattus' Magisword.

"Finally… It's just you and me now."

"You say that as if it'd be easy."

Venomous began by hurdling two vats at Black Hat, which he easily morphed aside from. He drew a red energy blade from his arm and cut the Professor's shoulder but gave him an opening to slice him in half! Black Hat regenerated, though he had visible strain while doing so. A few more hits and he'd be unable to, surely. The next time Venomous got a strike, however, it bounced off the man's chest.

"This is hardly my first bout with a Magisword, Professor," he smirked.

"I can tell. Looks as if you've learned a lot from your last fight what with the armor you're wearing."

"Minus facing the creature I intended to use it against. Fortunately, it is more than enough for anyone. Even you."

Black Hat laughed right before a burst of lightning came straight from his hands and blocking off the Magisword. Laserblast kept his stance, but his arm made it difficult to maintain his composure from the pain. His enemy knew as much as a beam from his eyes struck the oozed limb and caused Venomous to wince, right before being chocked by Black Hat's shapeshifting cape! The supervillain laughed even louder but Laserblast severed it. As he caught his breath, he was kicked in the head, then cut in the chest, then knee, then his arm again. Despite his reflexes, he couldn't outwit Black Hat's speed. All he could do was guard against his blows and was backed into a corner where he could see outside from a hole beside him.

"Have another look at what I've created, Professor," Black Hat said as he clashed! "Look at its beauty!"

Down below, the battle turned red as the Toon Force's ships were shot down by enemy fire. Boxman continued to shoot to stun not missing a single shot. But the corrupted were strong. One blast he missed from his side blew his robotic eye out! He fell back against the ship and kept firing, now lopsided and dazed with half his sight gone! He was only assisted by Nanini, who whacked people with a crowbar along with Winnie's slashes. Yet they too were overwhelmed. Carol wasn't doing any better on her end, nearly going turbonic as she was getting pummeled over and over by members of her own team! Danny Phantom tried going intangible to save her but a magic user disabled his ability and he was punched flat into the dirt by Punching Trudy! Jenny rocketed towards her to intervene. She had her fist prepped for a punch, but she missed. Someone else was right beside her and pulled out the robot's engines as she flew by!

Centurion joined Robotboy and Robotgirl in the fight to assist the Boxbots who, even with their combined might, were dismantled by the mobs. Though Shadowy Fink, Turbo, and Fink could defend the incredibly wounded K.O., dragged to Gar's storefront, they could only do so much before the crowds would eventually break in. At first, Shadowy considered using deadly forced, but Turbo stopped her. It'd be faster, but they intend to preserve everyone to the best of their ability. After all, they are their friends. When another dropship fell to Earth, however, Centurion failed to see it coming fast enough before it could crash into them! Each of them were scattered while defusing; Simone catching all with her powers apart from Vambre and Prohyas who flew too far into the mobs! They drew out whatever Magisword they had in their utility belts and began guarding and launching tomatoes and tidal waves yet were drowned out by punches and lasers being shot at them!

"Give up, Laserblast," Black Hat yelled! "I have already won!"

"You're not gonna convince me to make my children's lives a living Hell again!"

"That's too bad, because they're already living it!"

The pressure was building. Venomous took to performing a barrage of swings and flipping over the evildoer with the confusion to deal the killing blow...which he missed. His opponent's body separated itself to avoid having his torso severed from his waist. And despite the visible stress it took to use such an ability, Black Hat turned around and lasered Laserblast squarely in the helmet, exploding it over his head!

The left side of his face was scarred, oozing like his right arm and distorted. Being in too much pain to try any fancy moves, he tossed his Whirlwind Magisword at the supervillain, but Black Hat deflected it back with a whip of his appendage. This maneuver proved to be too strong as the blade flew deep into Laserblast's chest! He fell on one knee in such shock that he can do nothing but look at the weapon embedded in him. And just when he thought it couldn't get worse, Black Hat flew close to him, taking his boot and pushing the hilt even further; so much that the Professor let out a faint scream with his mouth agape trying to cope with the torture!

Suddenly, Venomous' ruined appendage wobbled into an elongated form to grab Black Hat by the face and push him aside! He grasped the sword stuck in him and regained his composure, glaring at his opponent.

Black Hat began to speak. "Have some trivia before you die." Quickly, he morphed forward and grinned with his jagged teeth.

"All of this was not meant for you. It was for the feline sheriff and his band of followers who took Catra and my victory away from me. But you couldn't be left alive to topple my empire considering your love of chaos. And what better time than any to ruin you by exacerbating what has already begun? Your Shadowy persona saw a darkness in people that no one else could. And these Glorbs are the only thing that can show their true colors. Once I spread them across the globe, the heroes of this world won't become your typical D-List supervillains like yours. They'll become monsters of my brilliant design!"

Hearing this monologue, rather than grunting, Laserblast smiled, laughing up blood over the thought of it.

"Ah, I hear amusement in your voice. And why is that?"

"If you're so certain you'll be in control, what's keeping them from betraying you too," the Professor asked.

"You've already answered your question. My blood will make them completely obedient. Docile even."

"Like you're any different."

Disgusted, Black Hat twitched an eyebrow, "What…?"

"If your idea is to make monsters like yourself, then that means they'll have no problem making you their first victim, like the ones I just fought. Then, they'll eat each other, because the truth of the matter is, you can't picture yourself as the lapdog of a higher authority than you. And they wouldn't either."

"Oh but they will. Less they suffer the same fate as you!"

Suddenly, the ship tilted slightly from an energy beam striking it at the side!

"What…?!"

Down below, students of P.O.I.N.T. began shooting at the island in protest. "WE DON'T NEED THEM," they shouted. "WE'RE PERFECT," some would yell as the cannons fired. Black Hat felt this and with rage in his voice teleported down to the surface and barked, "FOOLS, ALL!"

His eye beams tore through just about everyone in front of him. Most of which were heroes from his world. They in particular were easily sliced in half or disintegrated! Satisfied, he smirked and warped back to the ship.

"Now where was I?"

But he failed. He neglected to keep Venomous monitored. And thanks to his mistake, the One Blade had removed the sword from his chest and began a new motion.

"This one's for Cosma."

Raising both hands along with the sword, Laserblast called upon the wind in the atmosphere to lift the island even further into the sky. Cattus, fending off the hordes with his son saw what was happening and grinned, seeing the full strength of Laserblast on display.

Huge chunks of the island started to fall, however. The hangar as well as sections of the headquarters itself collapsed in on themselves from the pressure of going to space and were rapidly falling back to Earth!

"HOLY SMOKES," Prohyas screamed while getting pummeled!

Vambre remarked while beaten next to him, "Seems now is a good time to unveil our secret weapon!"

"THEN LET'S DO THE THING!"

Simone rocketed near them and unleashed a wave of magic around to shield them from the crowds while they charged up all their Magiswords, bringing them into a pile that when ignited summoned a shining white blade. New kind of sword suited to them that they held together and brought high above their heads!

ULTIMATE MAGISWORD!

The merged laser from the blade as well as Simone erupted into a titanic blast that instantly atomized the debris and the crumbling island, continuing to shoot into the heavens while the makeshift bomb started drifting into space! With another time to escape, Laserblast jumped out the hole the vats were leaking out of and dropped to the roof of the building where he prepared to flee. But just as he was about to activate his Magisword again, it was smacked out his hands by Black Hat, just barely having survived the implosion of the ship.

"Ah Hell," Laserblast scowled watching the blade fall far to the city. Just when he was about to take a leap of faith, he was snatched by Black Hat and choked him with his hands!

"If I die, you die with me," he shouted.

"Not yet, old man!"

Having anticipated this, Laserblast grabbed Elodie's gun left behind and blasted the villain in the eye! He threw himself off the edge and went falling out of the sky, chasing after his sword while he's still in the air. But Black Hat wasn't easily beaten. He blasted after the Professor angry as ever to finish what he started! And at that moment, Laserblast caught the blade, turned and threw it with enough force that it lunged into Black Hat's throat as he was sent back to the ship! The resulting combustion was immense! It blew across the red skies and everyone below watched the spectacle while Venomous continued to fall! More debris quickly fell alongside him but the Whirlwind coming back as quickly as it was lobbed was enough to destroy it.

Soon, as he got close to becoming a fine paste in the pavement, he whirled with the sword to fly forward and land, tumbling across the floor of where Cattus was standing to meet his face and bring the blade to him.

"I'm done using it…"

Cattus nodded, "As you were."

FOOMP

Around the two, swarms of infected heroes and villains began to go limp onto the ground. Those that weren't fully corrupted almost immediately regained their composure, with Danny, buried under bodies, noticing all the crowds falling asleep. Jenny, missing an ear and a leg, flew back to help him up. Professor MaBarnacle returned to Vambre and Prohyas to tend to their wounds, looking around for intruders but finding nothing but unconscious men and women. At Gar's, even Turbo, Fink, and Shadowy Fink were swamped by people who collapsed onto them, who they removed. Robotboy and Robotgirl continued to function properly and return to their normal forms as they reunited with their mother for a hug. And just when it they cheered, it began to rain. Both Enid and Radicles, dismantled by the attack from earlier, lay partially awake as a puddle formed around them, looking up to find the skies clear and returning to a normal starry night.

K.O., on the other hand, couldn't see anything…
