The two made to the town as the walked across the bridge. Thankfully, no one in town notice the two as if they don't care. It was awfully quiet. Silence everywhere except some small sounds like a cat meowing, a broom sweeping, fish being chopped by a cleaver, and clocks ticking. Madison knew it was a peaceful town, but things cannot be what it seems as she looked at some people.

"Hear ye, hear ye, ten minutes to go till Van Dort's wedding rehearsal." the Town Crier shouted as he was ringing his bell.

'That's right. The wedding rehearsal. I remember that part.' Madison thought until she felt her shoulder being tapped by Trysha's hand.

"Maddie, look over there. By the statue." she whispered.

Madison looked to where the statue is in the middle of the town and couldn't believe her eyes in shock. It was him. Barkis Bittern, the villain of the film. He was just standing there shooing the butterfly that was past him.

The girls glared at the man but not for too long. They don't want to get the man's attention and come towards them until a carriage passed by. The two knew that carriage too well as it stopped at a certain place. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a door open and a came a familiar couple coming out. Madison and Trysha knew who the two were, for they are Nell and William Van Dort, Victor's parents.

The two looked thrilled as they were carrying a tune, dancing around the carriage, but as Nell stepped into the carriage, it tilted to the side and half of her body was stuck while her husband and the driver try pushing her in. Madison and Trysha covered their mouth as they were hiding the smiling and trying not to laugh.

They knew it's not right to laugh but some things couldn't be help. While the two kept on pushing, Madison looked up to see a window opened and saw a young man looking down at the carriage. He looks nervous but he won't be as he meets the Everglot's daughter. Madison looked to the side to see the Everglot mansion. She could tell that the horrible people were watching and being such drama.

"You think we should go with them?" Trysha wondered as she was looking at the carriage and the Everglot mansion.

"I don't think so." Madison answered softly as she looked at her friend, "The two of us aren't exactly related to anyone."

"But they let Barkis in. Victoria's father did question his wife if he's from the side of her family."

"Probably because his chin is huge like her's."

A moment later, the two looked back at the Van Dort house and saw Victor coming out but entering the carriage. The girls moved back a little as the carriage starts moving but they saw Victor looking out through the window as if he was looking at them.

"Do you think he actually saw us?" Trysha asked.

"Maybe. I couldn't tell by his eyes. He might be looking at his house." Madison answered.

Trysha looked at the carriage as it kept on going until she thought of an idea.

"Shouldn't you do your magic to like sneak into the mansion?" she whispers to her friend.

"I can't do that!" Madison answered in soft, whisper voice. "Besides, there are people around, including the Town Crier. They'll might see it."

"Oh... right."

The girls looked back to see the carriage have already stopped. They already knew that the Van Dorts have already entered, and Victor will meet Victoria until that mother of her's interrupted. Madison thought for a moment until something came to her.

"I've got it an idea. I don't know if it'll work, but..." Madison looked around to see anyone is looking at her and Trysha, "...it's better if I tell you, while we walk."

Trysha nods her head and starts walking with her as she starts listening to her friend's idea.

A moment later, the girls kept on walking. They were actually at a different street of the town and came to the back of the Everglot mansion. Good thing there wasn't anything in the way like a garden or something, of course the Everglots would never care for nature except that Victoria would have enjoy. Madison looked around to see if any villagers were around and start taking a little peaked at each window to see where the rehearsal was, but as she saw the pastor, she knew this was the room.

"This is it." Madison whispered to her friend.

Trysha quickly lower herself down and move to the other of the window. She didn't want everyone to see her and Madison but the two do have good hearing through the window. While the two waited for the rehearsal to start, Trysha notice that Madison's skirt was moving.

"Uh... Maddie." she spoke as she points at the skirt.

Madison looked down to see her skirt was moving and can only mean one thing. She quickly opened the skirt pocket and brought her Bearded Dragon out.

"Sorry, Zor." she spoke softly as she placed him on her shoulder, "I guess need some air from under the ruffles."

"Still think the catastrophe will start soon?" Trysha asked quietly.

"Not dark yet but... Victor will soon mess it up." Madison answered.

"The next scene did say 'Three hours later' and I feel like it's been an hour or two or maybe more from walking all the way to the back of the mansion. It's too bad we missed the piano solo of Victor's. It sounded so beautiful."

"It is. At first, I thought he was playing Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, but it wasn't. But it still sounds so beautiful."

"That's Danny Elfman's work for ya."

"Love his music." Madison replied and the girls chuckled until Zor chirped a little for attention.

The girls went silent for a moment until they heard Pastor Galswells's voice inside the mansion.

"Master van Dort, from the beginning. Again. 'With this hand, l will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for l will be your wine. With this candle, l will light your way in darkness. With this ring, l ask you to be mine.' Let's try it again."

Madison and Trysha peaked a little through the windows and saw the pastor with Victor and Victoria. But behind them were their parents watching.

"Yes. Yes, sir." Victor spoke nervously and starts speaking the vows, "With this candle."

Victor leaned over to light his candle from the flame but it wasn't lighting up.

"This candle." he tried again but his candle still won't light up. "This candle."

"Poor Victor. I think the wick has problems lighting up. It's always the wicks." said Trysha.

The girls continued watching as the candle finally lit up, but when Victor starts doing the vows, the flame gone out. Pastor yelled at him to continue until the doorbell ranged.

"And Barkis comes in." Madison muttered a little while Zor was looking through the window with his mistress.

"Let's just pick it up at the candle bit." the pastor spoke as he was looking at Victor.

Emil, the butler, came in with a card in his hand and stood beside Finis.

"A Lord Barkis, sir." he said as he handed the card to him, and Barkis entered as he was standing like gentleman with a pride smile.

"l haven't a head for dates. Apparently, I'm a day early for the ceremony." he said to the lord.

Maudeline grabbed the card out of her husband's hand and read it until Finis whispered to her.

"ls he from your side of the family?" he asked.

"l can't recall. Emil, a seat for Lord Barkis." she commanded.

Barkis smiled and sat down as a chair appeared to him by Emil. Victor, Victoria, and the pastor were just looking at him with confusion until Barkis signals his hand.

"Do carry on." he said and the pastor looks at Victor.

"Let's try it again, shall we, Master Van Dort?"

"Yes. Yes, sir. Certainly." said Victor as he raised his right left hand while Victoria light his candle for him.

"Right." the pastor spoke as he was looking at his hand.

"Right." the young man spoke until his realization came to him, "Oh! Right!" he said as he flipped the candle to his other hand and raised his right hand. "With this... this..."

"Hand!" the pastor shouted in frustration.

"With this hand..." Victor spoke as he lifted Victoria's hand and walked towards the table, "I... will..."

Suddenly, the girls cringed as Victor accidently bumped into the table. He's alright but the pastor was not happy along with the other families.

"Three steps, three!" Pastor Galswells shouted, "Can you not count? Do you not wish to be married, Master Van Dort?"

"No! No." he answered.

"You do not?" Victoria questioned in concern and confusion.

"No! l meant, no, l do not NOT wish to be married. That is, l want very much to... Ow!" Victor exclaimed as he was hit by pastor's crook.

"Pay attention! Have you even remembered to bring the ring?"

"The ring? Yes, of course."

"Here comes the disaster." Madison spoke softly for Zor and Trysha to hear.

The girls and the lizard watched as Victor brought the ring out from his jacket. They can tell that his hand was shaking, because he was nervous until the ring slipped out of his fingers and rolled to the floor.

"Dropping the ring! This boy doesn't want to get married!" said the pastor.

The ring kept on going until it went under Maudelin's skirt. Victor wasn't paying attention as his hand went under the skirt to grab the ring. The girls covered their mouths as they were trying not to laugh but their smiles couldn't hide as they saw the shock look on Lady Everglot's face.

"Excuse me." said Victor as he looked at her and got the ring out. "Got it!"

Maudeline looked down and gasped to see the candle was near her skirt and the flame was touching the edge of the dress. Her skirt was on fire.

"And there's the catastrophe." said Trysha as she watched but looked around to see if anyone was around.

Madison and Zor continued watching as Finis pushed Victor away from his wife and tried to putting the fire out with his foot and Nell was trying to help with her fan but Maudeline pushed her away. The whole room was in panic except the pastor as he looked annoyed. While William was off to find a bucket, Barkis held a cup of his drink and poured the flames out. The Everglots and Van Dorts looked at him as Barkis threw his cup away with a flip and landed on platter which the butler was holding it.

"Show off." Madison muttered as she continued watching.

"Enough! This wedding cannot take place until he is properly prepared." Pastor shouted to everyone and then looked at Victor with stern glare, "Young man, learn your vows."

Victor looked at his parents and the Everglots as they were staring at him. He felt uncomfortable as he moved back away until he was bumped into the door. He quickly turned the doorknob and opened the door as he quickly exited the room.

"That's our cue." Madison spoke softly as she put Zor in her skirt pocket and looked at Trysha, "Let's go."

Trysha nod her head and quickly followed Madison as they walked to a different direction of the sidewalk.

The night has already come as the moon was shining bright. The girls kept on walking, even the Victorian shoes are killing them, but they kept on walking. As the chaotic rehearsal was over, the girls looked all over the town, trying to find the Van Dort boy but the town was new to them, and it was like a maze until they heard a voice.

"Hear ye, hear ye! Rehearsal in ruins as Van Dort boy causes chaos! Fishy fianc could be canned! Everglots all fired up as Van Dort disaster ruins rehearsal!"

It was the Town Crier. The girls stood close to the building and peaked to the corner and saw him. They looked to the side, and they can the see the bridge to where they went across and where Victor was.

"We need to find a way to get past the crier." said Madison as she looked at Trysha, "We don't want him get suspicious on why two young ladies, like us, be out at night and following Victor."

"You got any ideas? Cause I'm trying to think of one." said Trysha.

Madison thought for a moment. Trying to come up with an idea until she felt her skirt moving, knowing that Zor wants to come out. Once she brought him out, she was still trying to think as she was petting his head until... she got an idea as she looked at Zor.

"I got one." Madison spoke softly as she looked at Trysha.

Trysha looked at her friend for a moment as Madison looked at Zor.

"Now Zor, I'm going to turn you into something, but you have to listen, okay?" she asked and the lizard nod his head. "You see that bridge over there?" Madison questioned.

Zor looked to see a stone bridge that is over a river that heads straight towards the forest. The lizard looked at his mistress and nod his head.

"Alright... here's what we're going to do." Madison spoke as she starts explaining her plan to her friends.

A couple of minutes later, the Town Crier was walking around the area of the town until he heard the sound of barking. He turned his heard to where it was coming from as he was looking at the dark road path until suddenly, out of the shadows... a small dog with black fur and a blue collar was running past towards a few apartments and straight towards the bridge. The Town Crier was wondering why the little dog was heading towards forest until...

"Excuse me, sir." a voice spoke to him.

The crier turned around to see Madison and Trysha with concern looks and trying to catch their breaths.

"Do you happen to see a little, black dog running around?" Madison asked.

"Went straight across the bridge to the forest." he answered and luckily didn't ring his bell and shouted.

"Thank you." she said, and the girls quickly hustle past him and head towards the bridge.

The girls finally made passed the bridge and they went a little further into the forest until they stopped. Trysha looked back to see if anyone or the Town Crier was following until she smiled with relief.

"The plan worked. No one followed or got suspicious." she said as she looked at Madison.

Madison wasn't paying any attention as she was looking for something.

"Did you see Zor? Did we run past him?" she asked.

"I didn't see him. Don't tell me you lost him."

"Afraid so. Now we have to find go him."

"And Victor as well."

The two quickly picked up the paste as they started their search. Madison was getting more worried if something happens to him until... she heard a scream. Even Trysha heard it. The girls looked back at to where the scream was coming from and starts running towards the sound. The two can actually hear whimpering as they knew they were getting closer, but as they stopped, they couldn't believe what they saw. They found Victor but also found Zor, as he was back as a Bearded Dragon and on Victor's suit. Victor looked terrified and tried to stay calm, while Zor was just looking at him.

"Zor! There you are!" Madison spoke.

The lizard turned around to see his mistress and smiled. He quickly got off of Victor and scurried towards Madison. She gently picked her little friend with her hands and looked at him.

"Well done, Zor. You found him." she whispered to him as she winked, "Don't run off like that without me. You have me so worried." she said as she placed Zor on her shoulder.

Trysha smiled at the two until she turned to see Victor as he was still on the ground.

"Are you alright, sir?" she asked as she gestured her hand to help him.

"Yes. Yes, I'm alright." he answered as he let her help him up.

He was now standing on his feet and brushed the dirt off from his suit. Once he was was done, he sat back down on a log but he was looking at the girls.

"What are you two ladies doing out here at night?" he asked.

"My friend and I were just taking a walk until my little friend here..." Madison acted as she starts looking at Zor, "...somehow wondered off and went into the forest."

"But what about you? What are you doing out here?" Trysha asked the young man.

"I was... I was trying to practice my wedding vows." Victor answered as he starts explaining, "The rehearsal was a disaster. I was getting so nervous that I ruined everything. Bumping to a table, dropping a ring, and burned Mrs. Everglot's skirt. I couldn't get things right. And Victoria, whom I'm about to marry, may see me as a joke."

"Well, I don't think you're a joke, but it's not easy getting the vows right." said Trysha.

"You were probably stressing things out in your mind, which cause things to mess up." said Madison.

"Kind of. Like I kind of jumbled my words when I stammer."

Madison nod her head, agreeing to her friend, but as she looked at Victor, who was just staring at her, she realized something.

"You know, we forget that we haven't introduced ourselves. I'm Madison, this is my friend: Trysha, and... you've already met Zor." she said as she looked at her lizard.

"I'm Victor. Victor Van Dort." he introduced and brought out something in his hand.

The girls looked to see it was a gold wedding ring and a flower. The two knew about the flower because back at the Everglots, where he and Victoria met, she gave him a flower. The young man picked the flower up and smelled the scent.

"You could try practicing your vows." said Trysha.

"I don't know if I could." Victor spoke in concern.

"Just try." Madison spoke as she sat beside him. "Do it for Victoria. Just start with deep breaths and then speak for the heart."

Victor looked at her for a moment and looked back at the flower. He let out another sniff of the scent and his face looked determined as he got up from the log. Trysha sat beside her friend as they along with Zor watched him practice.

"With this hand, l will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for l will be your wine." he spoke.

Madison and Trysha nod their heads knowing that he was doing good. Victor smiled a little as turned his head to face a tree.

"Ah, Mrs. Everglot. You look ravishing this evening." he said to as he pretended the tree to be as Maudeline and then turned to a tree stump, "What's that, Mr. Everglot? Call you ''Dad''? lf you insist, sir."

The girls giggled a little of seeing that part while Victor broke a stick from a tree and held it like a candle.

"With this candle, l will light your way in darkness. With this ring, l ask you to be mine." he said as he held the ring place to a branch that looked like a hand.

Suddenly, there was silence in the air and the wind was blowing. This starting to get creepy for Madison as she, along with everyone, look up at the trees to see several crows on the branches. The girls stood close together while Zor hang on tight to his mistress's shoulder until all three heard Victor's scream. They looked down to see him on the ground but his arm was in a hole like he was dragging down.

"Let's help him. Quick!" said Madison.

While the crows went flying around, the girls quickly got to him and starts helping him up but they saw that the branch was dragging him down. With one final pull with all their might, Victor was finally broke free, but Trysha yelped as he saw something on his arm. Victor looked at his arm and to his face of horror, the branch was still on him. Only it wasn't a branch, it was a boney arm with Victor's ring.

Madison watched as Victor shakes his arm until the skeleton arm was finally off of him. Suddenly, the group heard rumbling sounds. They turned their heads to where the arm once was and saw the ground starting to rise like something is coming out. All three watched with fright, Victor mostly, while Zor got off of Madison's shoulder and scurried down in her skirt pocket to hide.

The three continued watching as the small ground began breaking until they saw something coming out. A dead hand came out and start climbing out until the head was out. The entire body starts rising up as the three got a good look at the corpse. It was a woman dressed in a filthy, torn wedding gown and her veil was covering her face. Madison and Trysha knew who that corpse as the bride starts lifting her veil to reveal her face and looked at Victor.

"I do." the bride spoke softly and starts reaching towards the young man.

Victor along with the girls move backed away until they quickly got on their feet and start running. All three ran as fast as they could until they stumbled down a hill. The girls were alright, but Victor bumped his head at a gravestone.

"You alright?" Trysha asked as she was looking at him.

"I think so." he answered as he was rubbing his head from the bump.

"Uh... guys!" Madison spoke as she was pointing up.

The two looked up and saw the corpse bride at the top of the hill but starts floating down as she was getting close.

The trio quickly got on their feet and start running. They kept on going until Victor bumped into a tree. The girls went back to him, checking to see if he's alright until Trysha screamed. Madison and Victor and saw that the bride was getting closer. Madison quickly dragged Victor away from the tree and the trio continued to flee. Madison kept on running but felt that her hair bun was coming loose. She didn't care about that. Right now, she still needs to run until they came to a icy river.

The girls carefully ran on the ice but saw that Victor was still running on the same spot. The young man looked back to see the bride was closer and closer until he felt the girls dragging his arms.

"Come on! Move it!" Trysha shouted as she and Madison got Victor off from the icy river and continued running.

While they kept on going, they can see the bridge from the distance and starts going straight, but a few branches were in their way and the trio could hear the tears from their clothing being ripped.

They finally got free from and were out of the forest as they got to bridge, but ducked down as the crows were flying close to them. Once they were gone, all three starts catching their breath and Victor looked to see if the bride was there, but she wasn't. Trysha was adjusting her glasses and brushed the dirt off of her until she looked at Madison, as she was coughing and catching her breath.

"You alright, Maddie?" she asked her friend in concern.

"I'm alright." Madison panted and breathing for air, "Just catching my breath."

Zor finally got out of the pocket, feeling dizzy but looked to see his mistress. He starts climbing up to her shoulder and looked at her.

"I'm alright, Zor. Don't worry." said Madison as she was now calm.

Victor was still looking out, making sure if the bride was coming but nothing. The young man sighed with relief until he gasped. The girls looked and couldn't believe what they saw. The corpse bride was on the bride with them and Victor. The young man moved back away to the stoney rail between the girls. The bride went straight towards her living groom as she placed her hands on his shoulders.

"You may kiss the bride." said the bride.

The crows were flying around them including the girls as the bride lean towards Victor as she was about to kiss him until... everything went black.
