The crows kept on cawing and flying around until everything stopped. Trysha and Madison opened their eyes and looked around. They were back at Gutknecht's place but also back at the land of the dead. Suddenly, they saw Victor and Emily only the bride was angry at him.
"You lie to me!" Emily shouted as she pushed Victor. "Just to get back to that other woman."
"Don't you understand? You're the other woman."
"No! You're married to me. She's the other woman."
Emily began to cry as tears came streaming down her cheeks. Madison and Trysha looked at their friend and decided to comfort while Victor just stared at the bride.
"She's got a good point." Elder Gutknecht spoke as he heard what Emily said to him.
Which is true. Victor did marry Emily, in an accident sort of way, and Victoria was the other woman. Even though she was arranged to marry Victor.
"And I thought... I thought this was all going so well." Emily continued crying as she wiping her tears from her dress.
Trysha, however, brought out a handkerchief from her sleeve and handed to Emily until suddenly, the bride's eye popped out from her head. The girls looked at the eyeball as it rolled towards Victor's feet.
Victor gently picked up the eyeball and then looked at Emily. With a sorry look on his face, he walked towards her as he was cleaning up the eye from his suit.
"Look, I'm sorry, but this just can't work." he spoke as he handed the eyeball back to her.
"Why not?" Emily questioned as she grabbed her eye, "It's my eye, isn't it?"
"No. Your eye is..." Victor looked at her but then looked away as Emily putted her eyeball back in place, "...lovely. Listen, under different circumstances, well, who knows? But we're just too different. I mean, you're dead."
"You should've thought about that before you asked me to marry you."
"Why can't you understand? It was a mistake. I would never marry you."
The girls winced at the words from Victor, as they remembered the scene that he messed up from saying that. But looking at Emily and how heartbroken she is, she slowly walked away with grace and going down the stairs like a ghost floating down. The girls looked at each other and nod as they decided to go to her, but Madison stopped as she turned to face her.
"You know Victor, the dead are still people. Emily is a person and not just a corpse. Perhaps you should have got to know her more and not just her past." she said to him and continue following her friends.
Victor watched her go and then sigh with regret.
A moment later, the three finally reached to the bride's home. Emily continued on going to her home as the living kept on following her. But the girls stopped as they reached to a familiar spot where Emily threw her veil away and sat on her coffin seat as she looked at her withered bouquet.
"Roses for eternal love." the bride spoke as she was tearing some of the flower petals. "Lilies for sweetness... Baby's breath."
Emily tossed the bouquet to the ground as she was upset but still heartbroken over the words from Victor. Scraps appeared to her but was sniffing at the bouquet and then looked at her.
Madison and Trysha felt sorry for Emily as they hid behind a wall. All the bride ever wanted be love by real, true love but all she got was judged by how her appearance looked. They thought of talking to her until they saw the widow spider coming down beside the corpse.
"Why so blue?" the spider asked to her.
"Maybe he's right. Maybe we are too different."
"Maybe he should have his head examined." the maggot spoke in Emily's head until she got him out from her ear. "I could do it."
"Or perhaps he does belong with her. Little Miss Living. With her rosy cheeks and beating heart." said Emily.
"Oh, those girls are ten a penny. You've got so much more." said Widow until she tries to think of what she says about the bride. "You've got... You've got... You've got a wonderful personality."
'True. But she also talented as well.' Madison thought about the bride until realize something and whispered to Trysha. "Here comes the song you like."
Trysha smiled a little as she and Madison watched the whole scene while Maggot and Widow starts singing.
Maggot: What does that wispy little brat have
That you don't have double?
Widow: She can't hold a candle
To the beauty of your smile
Emily: (spoken) How about a pulse?
Maggot: Overrated by a mile
Widow: Overvalued
Maggot: Overblown
Both: If he only knew
The you that we know
Widow: And that silly little creature isn't wearing his ring
Maggot: And she doesn't play piano
Both: Or dance, or sing
No, she doesn't compare
Emily: (spoken) But she still breathes air
Maggot and Widow: Who cares?
Maggot: Unimportant
Widow: Overrated
Maggot: Overblown
Both: If only he could see
How special you can be
If he only knew
The you that we know
Emily looks at the two for a moment, but then she got off from her seat and walked around as she started to sing.
Emily: If I touch a burning candle
I can feel no pain
If you cut me with a knife
It's still the same
And I know her heart is beating
And I know that I am dead
Yet the pain here that I feel
Try and tell me it's not real
And it seems that I still have
A tear to shed
Emily sat down near by a door with her head down as she was still sad and comparing herself to the living girl, Victoria. But then, Widow appeared again beside her as the spider carried Maggot in her long legs and Scraps came to the bride with the withered bouquet in his mouth as he was handing it to her.
Maggot: The sole redeeming feature
From that little creature
Is that she's alive
Widow: Overrated
Maggot Overblown
Widow: Everybody knows
That's just a temporary state
Which is cured very quickly
When we meet our fate
Maggot: Who cares?
Widow: Unimportant
Maggot: Overrated
Widow: Overblown
Both: If only he could see
How special you can be
If he only knew
The you that we know
Emily slinged the two up like a slingshot as she felt annoyance. She got up but went back to her seat as she starts singing a verse.
Emily: If I touch a burning candle
I can feel no pain
In the ice or in the sun
It's all the same
Yet I feel my heart is aching
Though it doesn't beat, it's breaking
And the pain here that I feel
Try and tell me it's not real
I know that I am dead
Yet it seems that I still have
Some tears to shed
The bride lays down on her seating and felt her eyes closed for a moment as she was needing rest. A tear came streaming down to nose and splashed to the floor. Maggot and Widow looked at each other and sadly sighed until they walked away. The girls just stared at the heartbreaking bride but decided to leave as they thought that Emily needs a moment to be alone.
A moment later, the girls were in the town square as they were sitting near at the statue to where the hid with Victor. Scraps was with them as he laid his little skull on Trysha's lap while Zor was in Madison's hands being petted. They were looking at some corpse walking by but something was in their minds.
"Poor Emily. She doesn't deserve to be hurtful." said Madison.
"She maybe dead, but she is heartbroken. All because of what Victor said to her and meeting Victoria." said Trysha as she petted Scraps.
"Speaking of Victoria. I remember happens next after Emily sings. Her heartless mother locked her up."
"All because she told her about what she just witnessed until she escapes."
"But then she went to the church, asking Pastor Galswells for help. When I first saw the movie, I thought he was helping, but it turns out I was wrong because he returned her to home."
"Not just any home, Maddie. More like a prison that a princess is trapped in."
"Pastors and priests are supposed to help people. But that guy is the worst. Also, the parts when Barkis telling the Everglots about what happened to 'his bride' and Victoria was forced to marrying that monster. That poor girl. She doesn't deserve anything like that. She deserves better."
"I agree with you." said Trysha until something else came to her mind. "I feel like I need to have a talk with Victor. Telling him to go and apologize to Emily."
"Not in a force way, Trysha. And also... I do need to check on Emily. See how she's doing."
"Looks like it's settle. I'll go talk to Victor while talk to Emily." Trysha looked at Scraps as his little skull was looking at her. "What do you think, Scraps? Think you can help me on finding your master?"
Scraps wags his tail and barks as he grabbed Emily's bouquet in his mouth. Madison placed Zor on her shoulder and got up.
"Alright. We better get going." she said.
The two starts moving but went in different direction. Madison was now in the same path where she and Trysha followed their corpse friend. It was easy for her but finding Victor was hard to find. But if Scraps does have a good sense of smell for a skeleton dog, he'll find him.
"There you are, my dear." an old man's voice spoke up.
Madison stopped her tracks as she heard a voice. Zor turned in a different position just to see who was speaking and squeaks as he was getting his mistress's attention. Madison turned around and to her surprise, it was Elder Gutknect.
"Oh! Elder Gutknecht." she spoke softly to him.
"I see that you're taking a stroll, correct?"
"Well actually I was just checking on Emily. See if she's doing alright."
"I'm sure she's fine, dear. But... I was wondering if I could talk to you for a moment. I have something to show you and give it to you."
Madison looked at Gutknect with a curious and confusion look. What on earth does Elder Gutknect want to tell her? What exactly does he have for her? But knowing that character, the old skeleton does have good soul. Even though he doesn't have it with him.
"Of course." she answered.
Elder Gutknect nod his head and told her to follow him. So she did as the two walked down the other path.
