Madison, Trysha, and Zor were at a table where the girls can talk alone. No other skeleton or corpse would come by and bother them as they were in a shadowy corner. Trysha was still staring at the book that Madison was still holding. Her face was curious about what it is, but confused about why Elder Gutknecht gave it to her friend.
"Alright, now that we're alone to talk. Please, explain." said Trysha.
"Well... just when I was about to talk to Emily, Elder Gutknecht came to me as he was looking for me. He wanted to talk to me and have something for me. So he took me back to his tower."
Trysha looked at her friend as she was listening to the explanation.
"Once we reached there, Gutknecht was searching around his shelves and drawers like how he searched for the book to get us back to the top. Then he showed me this book." Madison showed her the book. "He told me that centuries ago, when he was alive but about to pass away soon... Glinda came to him."
"Wait! You mean Glinda the Witch? The one who gave you the necklace?"
"That's her. She told him to give this book to the girl who wears the magical necklace. Even showed him who the girl was."
"And that girl is you. Wait a minute..." Trysha spoke in confusion as she remembered what her friend just said. "You said that Gutknecht passed away centuries ago. How did Glinda showed him who you look like and how does she know that the girl is you who be wearing it?"
"That's the mystery I'm trying to figure. But anyways, the book had this special lock and there was no key and not knowing what the secret word is. But when my crystal starts to glow, the lock was now opened."
"Reminds me of Barbie Swan Lake." said Trysha.
"Yeah..." Madison spoke as she now starts remembering the movie. "Something like that. Anyways, once I opened the book, it's not just any ordinary book. It's a magic book."
Trysha looked at her with shocked and looked at the book.
"Can... can I have a look at it? I just... just want to see it." she said as she stared at the book.
Madison looked at her Bearded Dragon and the crystal, but then nod. The necklace began glowing but in a dim way so no one could notice. Once the lock was now opened, Trysha gently grabbed the book and starts looking through the pages.
"This... this is unbelievable. This is like... a whole new level of magic for you to try and not just your necklace."
"That's what I said to Zor and the crystal." said Madison.
"It may take a while to learn these powers, but I'm pretty sure you could master them." said Trysha until she realizes something as she smiled. "Why... you could be more like the enchantress."
"Excuse me?" Madison questioned in confusion.
"Think about it. That one adventure you told when you went to El Dorado. The evil priest thought of you as the enchantress."
"That's right..."
Madison was now in her thoughts as she remembered that previous adventure. Indeed, that Tzekel-Khan did thought of her as the enchantress while her friends were as gods. But to another thought, why did she come her first and then go to El Dorado next. Guess... that there's no turning back time or anything. Just how it to her guess.
While Trysha looked at her friend, she heard Zor chirped. She looked at the lizard and saw that his tail was pointing at a direction. Trysha looked up and saw Emily going somewhere.
"Maddie." she spoke as she got Madison's attention. "Emily's going somewhere."
Madison looked at her and then looked to see Emily going off.
"The kitchen. Remember?" she asked.
Trysha nods her head as she remembers that Emily was talking to some of the cooks about Victor.
"Let's go to her."
"Hold on, now." Madison stopped her as she held Trysha's hand. "We should check on Victor, first."
Trysha nods her head in agreement while Madison put Zor on her shoulder and the two starts walking off. But Madison stopped as she realized she forgot something. She went back to the table, grabbed the book, and quickly continued walking with her friend.
"I really need a bag to put this in."
The girls finally exit the pub as they decided to search for Victor. The two looked around as they couldn't see him. But when they went around the pub, they finally found him but sitting on the bottom of the coffin holding the flower that Victoria have given it to him.
"I'm too late." he sadly spoke to himself and dropped the flower as a couple of it's petals fell off.
Madison and Trysha looked at each other and looked back Victor as they walked towards him.
"You alright, Victor?" Madison asked as she sat beside him and Trysha was standing in front of him.
"I'm just too late..." Victor spoke again as he looked at the girls. "How could she?"
"It wasn't her choice, Victor." Trysha began to speak. "From what Maddie and I heard... her parents aren't very kind. They just forced her in not a good way."
"If we met Victoria in person, Trysha and I would have helped her. And find a way to save her from cruelty." said Madison and Zor nods his head.
"But you have magic from what Trysha told me. Isn't there a way?" Victor asked.
"That... I'm trying to think of a way."
"It's best for her to think." said Trysha. "Maddie here always finds a way to help."
Victor looked at the girls but then nod his head as he understands until all three including Zor heard a voice. Emily's voice.
"Oh, Mrs. Plum, what am I to do?" the bride's voice spoke that was coming from the kitchen.
Victor and Madison quickly got up and all three got close to the kitchen door, peaking through the open crack to see Emily with Miss Plum and one of the cooks that have knives on his back.
"He just walked off without saying a word. Are all men like this?" Emily asked.
"Well, I'm afraid none of them are very bright." Miss Plum answered as she was cooking, but then pulled a knife out of the cook's head. "They get something stuck in their heads and you can't do a thing with them."
Madison and Trysha winced to see the knife getting pulled out of the cook, but then another door opened and the girls, along with Zor and Victor, saw Elder Gutknecht with the red book and the maggot, who was under the page.
"My dear, we have to talk." the elder skeleton spoke gently to the bride.
"Let me tell her, please. Let me tell her." the maggot spoke as he looked excited and laugh.
"What?" Emily spoke with concern and confusion until Gutknecht spoke to her.
"There is a complication with your marriage."
"I don't understand."
"The vows are binding only until death do you part."
"What are you saying?"
"Death has already parted you."
Emily gasped in shock. It's true about what the vows are, and death can separate the couple.
"If he finds out, he'll leave. There must be something you can do."
"Well, there is one way." said Gutknecht.
"Oh, please, please, let me tell her." Maggot spoke as he looked anxious to speak.
'That worm... looked too excited for what he'll be saying to her.' Madison thought while Zor just stared at the maggot.
"It requires the greatest sacrifice." said Gutknecht.
Emily looked at him with concern but looked at the maggot as he was still anxious to tell.
"Go on, get to the good part." he said to the skeleton.
"What is it?" Emily questioned him as she looked at him.
"We have to kill him!" the maggot answered with a smile of excitement.
"What?!"
Victor's eyes grew wide with shock and gasped. But not too loud for them to hear. The girls and Zor turned to looked at Victor with worry but then looked back at the three.
"Victor would have to give up the life he had forever." Gutknecht spoke as he turned to the page to where Maggot was. "He would need to repeat his vows in the land of the living and drink from the wine of ages."
Emily looked at the page and saw a picture of the bottle that has a skull. She gasped and looked away as she stared at the fireplace.
"Poison." she whispered.
"This would stop his heart forever. Only then would he be free to give it to you." said Gutknecht as he stood beside her.
Madison and Trysha turned back to see Victor as he was stepping away from the kitchen, but as they looked at his face, he didn't look shocked or frighten. His looked calm.
"Victor?" Trysha spoke to him.
The young man didn't answer as he walked past her and Madison and enter the kitchen. The girls looked at each other and quickly followed him as they entered.
"l could never ask him." Emily spoke as she was on her knees to the floor and her head was sadly down.
"You don't have to."
Emily gasped as her head was up to see Victor standing next to her, along with Madison and Trysha.
"I'll do it."
"Victor..." Madison spoke as she looked at him. "Are you sure about this?" she asked and then the young man nod his head.
"My boy, if you choose this path you may never return to the world above. Do you understand?"
Victor looked at him but then helped Emily up as he gently took her hand. He smiled a little and nod again.
"I do." he said, and Emily smiled.
A moment later, at the town, Emily and the living trio were at the horse statue. Emily and Victor were at the top which Emily was sitting on the horse, while Madison and Trysha were at the bottom watching the dead walking around.
"Gather round. Gather round, everybody." Victor spoke.
The dead stopped as they turned to face him. They gathered around the statue as Victor continued speaking to them.
"We've decided to do this thing properly. So grab what you can and follow us. We're moving this wedding party upstairs."
"Upstairs?" a corpse lady spoke as she looked curious and excited. "I didn't know we had an upstairs." she said and another corpse lady clapped with excitement.
"Sounds creepy." said the little skeleton boy as he was talking to the skeleton girl.
"Let's go!" she said and the rest of the corpses ran around in a hurry for preparations.
Corpses: (singing) A wedding, a wedding
We're going to have a wedding
Victor and the colonel helped Emily down as she rushed off to get ready. Madison and Trysha starts following but was stopped as they along with Victor heard a voice.
"Hold on you three."
The three looked to see Widow hanging down beside Victor.
"Victor, you can't get married looking like that. Especially, the bride's maids do need to need to look best." she said, and she let out a whistle.
The three looked up and saw a bunch of spiders hanging down towards them but mostly towards Victor.
Spiders: The spiders think you're very cute
But goodness knows you need a suit
But have no fears, we're quite adept
We'll have you looking lovely, lovely, lovely
Lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely yet
Victor let out a laugh as he felt how tickled it was coming from the spiders' legs. Madison and Trysha giggled but then the rest of spiders came to them. All three stared at the spiders as they were sewing the tears from running when they met Emily, but now they look good as new.
Spiders: A little stitch, a little tuck
Some tender loving care
A little thread will fix you up
And we've got plenty as you see
And personally guarantee
Our quality repairs
A little here, I'll fix the mess
We're going to do our very best
When everybody sees you
They will all be quite impressed
They will all be quite impressed
Corpses: A wedding, we're going to have
In the kitchen...
Miss Plum: A wedding cake is no mistake it must be quite sublime
Cook 1: We're missing something.
Cook 2: Try some dust.
Miss Plum: I wish I had more time
Cook 1: Perhaps there's something I can do
These bones might help a bit
Cook 2: (speaks) Oh, my nose!
Cook 1: Sorry!
Miss Plum: Wait a minute, that's it!
Cook 2: A little of that
Cook 1: A little of this
All: The perfect cake is hard to miss
A wedding, a wedding
We're going to have
Cook 2: A wedding!
Back at the town, an army of soldiers came marching around along with Victor.
Soldiers: Huzzah, huzzah
We're going to have a wedding
A wedding
Let's all give out a cheer
'Cause the bride is getting married today
One thing you can surely say is we will stand beside
Until the end we will defend
Our one and only bride
Our bride-to-be, our bride-to-be
Our lovely Corpse Bride
Huzzah! Hooray! Huzzah! Hooray!
Our bride is getting married today
Suddenly, a few gasps and awes as they saw Emily arriving.
"Oh, there she is."
"Here she comes."
The rest of the dead gathered around to see the lovely, corpse bride. Madison and Trysha walked down the stairs in front of Emily as the corpses admired the beauty of the bride. Suddenly, spiders came down as they placed a veil on Emily's head, but also placed two crown sets of wilted flowers on Madison and Trysha's head.
Corpses: Oh, oh, the bride is here
She's waited for this day
For many a year
For this day, for this day
Our hopes and our pride
The bride is here
Here comes the bride
Here comes the bride
Here comes the bride
For this day, for this day
Will last forever
And all of her friends
Will work together
Corpse Women: To make it the perfect day
She's always dreamed
Our hopes and our pride
Our bride, our lovely bride
Madison and Trysha smiled at the moment, but then felt a drag movement as everyone was in a hurry, and they even see the cake that looks big but also edible for the dead.
Corpses: We're going to have a party
Like nobody's ever seen
The living in the land above
Will not know where they've been
The land above
The party of the bride
Here comes the bride
On this glorious day of days
Up to the land of the living
To celebrate
Madison and Trysha kept on walking to them, as the two knew that they'll going back to the surface. But also... they'll arriving at a certain location.
To Be Continued...
