Lightning was waiting for Sazh, who finally came down from the roof. Sazh took a couple of deep breaths before standing straight, and Lightning turned her gaze away instantly. This confused Sazh, so he tapped on her shoulder. Lightning turned her head to the right, looking at his hand.
Yes?
"Why are you turning away from me?"
Lightning didn't know how to answer that. She didn't remember the last time someone had asked her that. Men usually got distracted, or tried to ask her out instead.
Because, you'll be drawn to me.
I'm married, but you are attractive. However, I have a son. So why would I be distracted?
Lightning nodded in complete understanding before she and Sazh continued their journey forward.
Sazh saw two soldiers standing near a portal, and his eyes widened as he watched two machines like dogs emerge.
Advanced technology, I suppose?
Probably, I've never seen those before.
Lightning couldn't believe her eyes, but she had to keep it together. She had something important taken away from her, and she needed it back. She saw one of the soldiers moving towards them, so she got down beside him.
What's the plan?
Wait till he moves, then we can sneak by them.
Sazh nodded to this and as the soldier moved, he and Lightning began moving quietly until they finally managed to get past the two soldiers without being noticed. They had no choice but to fight.
Lightning put her gunblade away and then an explosion occurred, causing one of the bridge's supports to collapse; Lightning was just as surprised by this development.
Wow, what the hell was that?
Something's going to happen; we need to hurry, but let's be cautious about our movements. Did you hear me, Sazh?
Yes, ma'am.
Lightning helped Sazh up as they continued on their journey. Then two soldiers and a machine dog appeared; they had no choice but to fight once more.
"This is getting boring; please step aside."
She said that.
"No way, kill them!"
Lightning and Sazh defend themselves, eventually winning the battle and ascending some stairs to a switch that takes them to a platform.
When they both get off, they see two soldiers (this is a boss fight). The flying one notices Lightning and Sazh's presence and pulls out his staff as well.
What are the two of you doing? Civilians aren't allowed up here.
We-
I am a soldier, but he is a civilian; that is the difference between us.
Nonsense!
The soldier flew toward them; Lightning clashed with him and pushed him away. Before the battle could continue, however, it was a hard struggle, but Lightning and Sazh managed to pull through and their riding a floating platform too.
So, Lightning?
Yes.
What's your focus, or code?
I-
What-
Serah...
Sazh's eyes widened and he turned away as they continued riding.
"Point of view change"
Snow and his friends were fighting back against the Guardian Corps; they struggled pretty hard and became confused when the Guardians suddenly retreated.
Looks like those jerks finally surrendered, right?
Snow, Gadot's talking to you.
I know, Lebreau, but-
Snow saw the soldiers approaching and signaled his friends to move back towards their village. When they arrived, everyone stopped talking.
Hello everyone!
We want to fight with you, Snow!
Yes, we cannot simply sit here and do nothing!
I know but...
Snow...
Lebreau...
Snow looked out and the people awaited his instructions; when Snow opened his eyes, everyone looked on.
Okay, here's the plan. All the children need to be put somewhere safe, and the women should stay together in one room.
I-
What's wrong, Nora?
I would like to join the battle.
Mom no you can't, I-
Sweetheart, I love you; remember that.
Darn it, Mom! Why?
The young boy whispered this as his mom took a weapon alongside the men; Nora being the only woman among them. Snow became worried and walked over to her.
Are you sure?
...Moms are tough.
Snow nodded in respect to Nora's reply, as everyone began fighting and Snow had to blow up their base center, but the weapon was flung from his reach.
Damn it.
Snow whispered that and look up as the thing began to charge up to end him, then sudden someone fired his rocket launcher.
(It's okay to cry during this part.)
I told you so, moms are tough.
Thank you.
Nora helped Snow up only to be fatally injured by a blast; her son looked on, horrified, as she lay there. Snow tried to help her as best as he could, but the impact of the blast sent everyone falling to the right.
Hold on Nora, I've got you.
Snow...I'll pull you down with me, just let go.
But you-
Tell Hope, I love him.
Snow felt his grip slipping, and his hand automatically let go; Hope screamed and a girl them hurried away. Snow fallen down, screaming too.
