Hermione worked in the Magical Artifact Recovery Department, which translated to her making many trips all over the world to collect various magical artifacts someone or some group had come across and take them to the proper magical ministry. It wasn't uncommon for multi-cultural artifacts to be found at one time; whether it was from a dig, a cave or someone just trying to do some landscaping, rare was it ever just from one country. That was why she was in Egypt and trying to pass time counting sand. Well, not really counting, more like seeing how many pictures she could draw while awaiting the curse breakers to finish their jobs and allow her to take what they found to return to the proper ministries.
As she sat in the shade of the tomb currently being cleansed, she couldn't help but smile when she thought of one curse breaker in particular, Bill Weasley. The eldest Weasley male was a sight to behold. He had survived the War and had spent some time at the rebuilt Burrow reconnecting with his tattered but whole family. She had been honored to be allowed to stay with the war-torn family as they healed and learned to enjoy life again. Her own healing had taken the fast track due to being around so many who cared about her wellbeing. She loved them all but one in particular wasn't in a brotherly way.
While her thoughts were off fantasizing about the one Weasley she was sure would never give her a second look, Hermione had no clue she was writing in the sand what her thoughts were about Bill. When one of the workers stepped out of the tomb to let her know she could collect the priceless artifacts, Hermione promptly jumped up and strode over to the opening, not giving her writing another thought.

Bill was deep in the tomb working on another tunnel filled with cursed objects when he heard his name called by a fellow breaker and friend.
"Hey, Weasley, you should come check this out!"
"Yeah, be there in a moment!" Bill answered as he finished up his task. As he made his way by the others, they all gave him knowing smiles; confused, Bill stepped out of the tomb and waited a moment for his eyes to adjust. Then he saw his friend a few yards away looking at something in the sand. Curious, Bill walked over. As he approached his friend, he was given the universal hand signal to stop and he did. Then his friend smiled widely as he pointed to the ground. When Bill looked down, it took him a moment to register what he was seeing; there, in the sand, was his name with some very interesting adjectives starting with each letter.
"Who wrote this?" Bill asked cautiously, not sure if someone was taking the piss or not.
"None other than Hermione Granger." His friend replied.
"You sure?" Bill asked as he reread what was drawn.
"Yep!" his friend answered with a wide grin. "Looks like you've got an admirer, Weasley."
Instead of answering, Bill smirked at his friend as he magically drew a square around the writing and secured it; then he lifted it and placed several spells on it to secure it.
"Who knew you were such a romantic." Another coworker commented as he walked up on the pair.
"Not every day a beautiful, feisty and sexy witch as Hermione doodles your name in sand." Bill retorted with a smirk.
"You gonna chase her?" Yet another coworker asked as she joined the group.
"What do you think?" Bill asked with a chuckle.
"Yes, if you're smart." His friend stated.
"Alright, you lot, get your sorry arses back to work!" their boss yelled from the tomb's entrance, getting good-natured moans from everyone as they headed back inside.
Bill stood there for a moment before a wicked grin pulled at his lips. Leaning down, Bill knew how he could let the petite witch know she wasn't alone in her interests as his fingers started their journey.

It took Hermione a week to return the artifacts found. When she returned to the Burrow, she was surprised to find a gaily wrapped gift lying on her bed. After scanning it for anything bad or harmful, she carefully unwrapped the package. When she lifted the lid, her breath was stolen. Inside, wrapped in beautiful blue silk was a chunk of sand. However, it wasn't just any sand, oh no, this lovely square of sand had writing. As she read what was written, her eyes grew wide. There was no way who wrote this was who she wanted and hoped it would be. As she continued to stare at her name she wondered how, in Merlin's name, could he have known? Then she hung her head when she remembered her idle doodling while waiting for the curse breakers to finish with the artifacts. Right, she had done the same with his name but how did he know it was her?
Just as she was about to lose herself to her musings, a knock sounded on her door. When she bid whomever to enter distractedly, she was shocked to be pulled from her thoughts as a hand tilted her chin up that caused her eyes to meet the intense blues of Bill Weasley. Before Hermione could form any sort of reply or question, Bill lowered his lips to hers and all thought flew out the open window. After a breath stealing kiss, Bill pulled back to look into her eyes, "The writing in the sand, is that how you feel?"
"Yes. The gift? Is it true?" Hermione countered.
"And so much more." Bill told her as he kissed her again, effectively proving his answer.
