Chapter 8
What needs to be said
Erika was running around searching for any sign of Hiroki,Circa or Shade.
Unfortunately luck wasn't on her side as after an hour of searching, no one.
She sighed and leaned against a nearby wall and slid to the ground, her armor scraping it a little.
'First we fail to get a ship, then we find our enemy is immortal, then our team separates.'
Erika looked up.
'And that's just today.'
A bit of light appeared from her left.
The same direction out of town.
Erika knew that light well and began walking towards it.
The moment she reached the edge of town she saw Hiroki swinging his weapons around with his semblance activated.
She shook her head and approached him.
Hiroki stopped swinging his weapons right before it hit Erika's cheek.
"I could've killed you if I wasn't focused."
He said putting his weapon on his back.
"I knew you were."
Erika said with a slight smile.
"What do you want Erika?"
His semblance turned off.
"Circa went looking for Shade and last time i checked this place isn't exactly the safest place with those morons in charge."
Hiroki looked at her curiously.
"I'm surprised to hear that from you of all people."
She shook her head.
"I can tell that the Military Leader isn't exactly a fan of my species."
Erika looked down a bit.
She shook her head to snap out of her thoughts.
"Now c'mon we have to find her before she gets into trouble."
"Why though?"
Hiroki questions.
"We don't know her, hell I'm pretty sure Shade barely knows her so I don't know why he trusts her."
"Well i th-"
"You don't know her either and we have enough enemies to deal with."
"Like my brother!"
She shouted a bit.
This made Hiroki back up a bit.
"You have your own goals and that's fine, I have mine too, one of which is to get my brother back in from the bastard that took him from me."
Erika clenched her fist in anger and the grass under her started to die.
Hiroki noticed this.
"You don't use this part of your semblance often."
Erika snapped out of her anger and saw what happened.
"Oh no."
She crouched down and put her hand on the grass, her aura went into the ground restoring the grass she took from.
Erika sighed as she stood up.
"I don't like using that part of my semblance, it's not right."
Hiroki looked at her.
"If you want someone to make Adam pay I'll gladly do it."
Erika looked at him curiously.
"All you need to do is keep your brother away while I finish off Adam then we can help your brother."
Hiroki looked at Erika.
"This way we each get what we want."
Erika's eyes widened a bit.
"You'd really help me? Even with your hatred towards the White Fang?"
Hiroki shook his head.
"The only one I want is Adam, besides the White Fang appears to be moving towards a better direction anyway."
He crossed his arm and leaned against a nearby tree.
"Besides, something tells me I'm going to get my chance for revenge soon enough."
"How do you know?"
"Just a feeling."
He closed his eyes for a second.
"Alright let's go find our leader."
Hiroki walked past Erika and headed towards town.
"What about Circa?"
"That child has been staying close to Shade and he's easier to find than her."
Erika thought for a second.
"Well you're not wrong."
She follows him back into the town.
Meanwhile…
Shade was on a roof in town breathing heavily.
'Get out of my head.'
He internally thought.
'Just let me take over, you'll no longer have to worry about anything, you'll be free.'
Shade's shadow rose from the ground before being punched down by him.
'The shadows listen to me and only me!'
He shouted mentally.
The voice inside his head did not respond and Shade sat down on the roof.
"Maybe I am insane."
He said out loud.
Suddenly Shade heard someone scream.
He looked down and saw several people shaking.
"That's weird, it's almost like they're…..afraid."
Shade looked at where the people were and saw an alleyway a bit away.
"Damn it!"
A minute earlier…
Circa was backing away from Kiryu.
"Who are you?"
She questions.
"Just a simple man on a mission for the queen."
Circa out of reflex activated her semblance.
Kiryu just walked towards Circa.
"H-how"
"Oh I'm well aware of your abilities, unfortunately little tricks like your's won't work on me."
He points at his red eye and grabs Circa by her cloak.
"Now then let's go see my queen."
Kiryu flew on a nearby roof.
"Now let's see which way to go."
Suddenly a bullet nearly hit his head.
"Ok who dares?"
He turned and saw Shade on a nearby roof with his red blade aimed at Kiryu.
"Well well well, I didn't expect the shadow manipulator to make an appearance."
Kiryu said, still holding Circa up.
"I don't know why you're here but I would like you to put her down."
Shade remains on his guard.
Kiryu sighed.
"Look I'd like nothing more than to bring you to my queen but at the moment my only order was to bring her the asset."
Kiryu looked at Circa who was attempting to break free from Kiryu's grip.
"So consider yourself lucky, you get to roam free for a bit but I will need to bring my queen here."
He turned back to Shade.
"So do me a favor and back off."
Kiryu aimed his gun at Shade.
Shade looked at Circa who nodded at him.
"You see, I don't think that's going to happen."
He quickly ran and jumped towards the roof Kiryu was on.
Kiryu shot at Shade.
He blocked the bullet and as he did, Circa pushed away, ripping her cloak revealing the outfit under as she escaped.
She was dressed in a long sleeved black cardigan and a long yellow skirt with red shoes.
Shade attempted to strike Kiryu who flew several feet backwards away from the two.
"I hope you don't expect me to run away just because you blocked my shot."
Kiryu pulled his mechanical blade out of the bottom of his pistol.
"Oh i figured but"
Shade took his second blade out.
"Don't expect to win this fight."
Kiryu flew at Shade, shooting his gun several times.
Shade blocked the shots and jumped back before Kiryu swung his sword at Shade's neck.
A shadow fist rose from the ground and punched Kiryu in the chest, sending him up a bit before grabbing Kiryu's leg before slamming him onto the roof.
Shade put an arm in front of Circa.
She nodded at him and backed up a bit.
Kiryu stood up.
"What's wrong? Afraid to fight me head on?"
Shade just chuckled.
"Very funny, you think I'm that foolish. Hiroki and Erika told me about your abilities and I know exactly how to win against you."
Kiryu took a deep breath.
"Hopefully my queen will forgive me for this but you will be dying here today."
He flew directly towards Shade spinning his blade between his hands.
Shade quickly dropped one of his swords and put his shield up and blocked the blade.
Kiryu touched the shield with the back of his hand and jumped back.
"It's over."
He pointed up but Shade didn't move.
Kiryu was surprised.
"That's impossible."
Shade smiled.
"At this point I'd agree."
He held his arm up to reveal it was currently covered in his Shadow.
"You can control the gravity of whatever you touch but I control shadows. So if something is covered in shadows then I control it."
Shade ran at Kiryu.
He flew up to dodge.
Shade jumped and punched Kiryu right in his face.
Kiryu went spinning before regaining his balance and looking at Shade who stretched his hand a bit.
"If you didn't have your aura protecting you you would have definitely lost some teeth or broke your jaw."
Shade picked up the blade he dropped and his shadow extended to his blade.
"Now let's see what you're made of."
Kiryu started to lose his cool and flew towards Shade at his best speed.
Shade took a deep breath and held both blades focusing his shadow into his swords.
He clashed with Kiryu's blade, the two blades he wields forming an x.
"Got you."
Using his blades like a pair of scissors he broke Kiryu's sword in half, the blade falling to the ground.
Shade then punched Kiryu off the roof.
He sighed.
"It's over."
The shadows on his body vanished.
Shade was breathing heavily. Using his semblance the way he did took a lot of focus.
He quickly ran to the edge of the roof and saw Kiryu was missing.
"Damn it, I should've captured him."
"Shade."
He heard Circa say.
Shade turned to her.
"We should probably talk."
Circa approached Shade.
"You need to know why I was looking for you."
He looked at Circa and noticed something different.
"And who I am."
Circa had a fox tail in addition to her ears.
"The Forbidden Two Trait Faunus."
AN:I don't know why I've been struggling so much writing these chapters, I have ideas for so many of the ones ahead. Anyway before anyone says anything i will remind you all this is an AU so i can bend the rules of the world a little and i know Faunus normally only have one trait. Next time Circa's story will be revealed. I promise I'll work on it as soon as I can.
