~A/N~ Here we go, chapter four. I hope you all enjoy it.
~Summary~ Build up to Day one of U.A.
Chapter Start!
Nezu sipped some tea as he listened to his professors talk over the possible applicants to pass. They had just finished their reviews and it was time to pick their students.
"So who is your first pick?" Nezu asked.
"I want Midoriya for sure," Aizawa said right away grabbing Izumi's file.
"Do you now? And here I was expecting you two to dance around who would have to pick her," Nezu returned hiding his knowing smile behind his teacup.
"And what if I want her in my class?" Vlad asked.
"Don't try to lie. You don't think she even deserves this chance," Aizawa snaps back. "You see her bloodline and throw her in the same line as you would The Pheonix King,"
"She deserves a chance I won't deny her that," Vlad retorted. "But the way you jump to defend her,"
"He sees himself in her," Nemuri said from her spot. "Birds of a feather and all," she added.
"Right I sometimes forget that," Vlad glanced towards Nemuri.
"Who is your first pick, Vlad?" Mic asked.
"The kid with the copy quirk. Monoma," Vlad answered taking Neito's file.
"Brainwasher, Gravity, and Vines," Shota said pulling the three to him.
"Big Fist, Iron, and Mushrooms," Vlad returned taking the three files.
"Half-Cold Half-Hot, Explosions, Creation," Shota stated.
"Weld, Gyrate, and Cemedine," Vlad returned.
"Frog, Engine, and Invisibility," Shota
"Lizard Tail Splitter, Twin Impact, Softening," Vlad
"Acid, Hardening, Tape," Shota
"Beast, Sugar Rush, Solid Air," Vlad
"Earphone Jack, Electrification, Dark Shadow," Shota
"Horn Cannon, Anivoice, Comic," Vlad
"Size, Tail, Dupli-Arm, and Naval Lazer," Shota said finishing his class.
"Razor-Sharp, Black, Poltergeist, and Scales," Vlad finished.
"Well selected, now if I might ask you left out two possible students?" Nezu pointed to the two folders.
"Pop Off's file may look squeaky clean thanks to his parent in the HPSC. But after a quick dive, he's shown to be a blatant womanizer and that means a future of sexual assault allegations that will never stick thanks to his parent. Better to let a different school deal with him... if any," Vlad explained.
"As for Gas, his file shows heavy accusations of assault and illegal quirk use. Now despite none of it has stuck. All the needed proof is there to deny him,"
"Both fair points," Nezu replied with a smirk.
"Add in both barely and I mean barely scraped up the minimal points to pass. So denying them won't be too unbelievable," Nemuri added.
"Very well. I will send the acceptance letters out," Nezu stated bringing the meeting to its end.
~A Small Resturant~
Izumi smiled lightly watching Daiki happily drawing away. Her attention turned slowly to the other company at her table. One Shinso Hitoshi someone who apparently 'needed' to talk to her.
"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" Izumi asked.
"Sorry, it's probably rude to ask about it. But you're a Black Dragon," Hitoshi started.
"You want my life story or can I just say I hate them with every fiber of my being and be good," Izumi replied her eyes shifting to draconic for a brief moment.
"That works. Better that than bringing up any bad memories," Hitoshi replied. The look in her eyes when she said she hated them was more than enough.
"I do have a question for you now," Izumi said.
"Sure," Hitoshi replied knowing what she was going to ask.
"Who did they take from you?" Izumi asked.
"My father. He was in Miami for a business meeting when Sinestra and Nefarian attacked it for no reason,"
"It wasn't for no reason. I was hiding there with Daiki's father," Izumi corrected.
"His father?" Hitoshi looked towards the boy who was still lost in his coloring.
"His name was Calen of the Red Flight... And I loved him. He took care of me... us. Swore that he would do everything in his power to protect us. And he did," Izumi replied.
"If he was a red dragon why did you come to Japan and not go to Great Britain and the Red Flight?" Hitoshi asked.
"For a lot of stupid reasons and one halfway decent reason. The stupid reasons being that I couldn't bring myself to believe they wouldn't hate me for being the living reason Calen was kidnapped and ultimately died. The one good reason is that they would expect me to go to them. Hiding in the domain of The Greens that also happens to be All Might's home seemed the safest bet," Izumi explained.
"That does make some sense," Hitoshi replied.
"The second half sure. But the first doesn't. There is no way The Reds would turn me away because of Calen. It would spit on his memory to do that," Izumi stated.
"Do they know you're here?" Hitoshi asked.
"Alextrasza does. I took a risk and sent her a letter. I bore my soul in it. Told her everything that happened and how great of a man Calen was," Izumi answered.
"Did she come to see you?" Hitoshi asked.
"Not yet. She wants to but as one of 'The Aspects' she doesn't have very much free time," Izumi explained.
"Does she help you?" Hitoshi asked.
"A little. I don't like asking her for help too much. But she had covered our rent a few times when money got really tight,"
"That's good," Hitoshi said. "So what did he mean by 'Special bedroom friends'?" Izumi's face went red.
"I might have a friend or three that I meet up with for that," Izumi replied her blush deepening.
"I'm kinda surprised you would even be up for that sort of stuff considering," Hitoshi said glancing at Daiki again.
"Those monsters wanted to make sure I had a child. Calen and I were forced to 'meet' multiple times a day. So much so that I sort of became addicted to the sensation after a while," Izumi replied now beat red.
"Oh," Hitoshi was now just as red.
"I know it's weird. But Calen was always as gentle as he could be. Made sure it hurt as little as it could. And when your only source of tender care comes with that caveat," Izumi shrugged. "I'm not ashamed of it. It's just a little embarrassing to talk about," Izumi chuckled.
"So he caught you?" Hitoshi asked.
"Not during or anything like that. He had a nightmare and found me with a friend. When he asked about it I just said he was my special bedroom friend and that worked for him. Now when he sees one of them he just plays with his toys or watches T.V. until they leave," Izumi explained.
"Is the silver guy going to visit again?" Daiki suddenly asked.
"D... Daiki go back to coloring," Izumi said with a heavy blush. 'Though... maybe Tetsu would like to,'
~Somewhere else~
"Achoo," Testsutetsu sneezed loudly nearly dropping his weights.
"Not catching a cold on me are you?" Ejiro joked.
"Nah, Someone's probably just talking about me," Testutetsu replied.
"You're booty caller I'd bet," Ejiro laughed.
"Shut up and spot me," Tetsutetsu growled his face beat red.
~Back with Izumi~
After their meal was eaten and gone Hitoshi left letting Izumi take Daiki home. Daiki drifted off on their walk home letting Izumi finish the walk with her thoughts. Or that is how it would've gone if not for a villain attack consisting of a lot of explosions.
Izumi moved through the crowd to see an ashy blonde trapped in what looked like living sludge. He kept firing off explosions trying to force the muckman off.
"Hold on kid!" A hero called out. "I can't get close... the fire is too intense," Izumi now saw it was Kamui Woods. Yeah, wood would not be good here.
"If Wash was here I could handle the villain why he stopped the fire," Backdraft said trying his best to fight the rampant fires.
"Gah!" the blonde gasped freeing his mouth for a few seconds. "Get off of me you slimeball!" he shouted to no avail.
"We need back up," Kamui said as he tried again, in vain, to approach only to be burned.
"Kamui Woods," Izumi called out somehow getting the man's attention.
"Unless you got a plan I can use I need you to step back," Kamui replied as he put his arm out.
"I do have a plan. But I need your approval," Izumi said.
"You want in? I can't just let a civ jump into the fray," Kamui shot back.
"My quirk makes me fireproof, large, and strong. But I can't help without battlefield approval of an onsite hero," Izumi explained. Another explosion rocked the area.
"Damnit... Fine. I hereby claim responsibility for your actions. Now go," Kamui said.
"Thanks," Izumi turned to a tall green, and blonde-haired man. "I know my... little brother's scent anywhere and can track him down even cities away,"
"Uh," The tall man replied.
"Watch him. If you try and take him. I. Will. Kill. You," Izumi said handing Daiki to the blonde.
"I swear no harm will come to him," the tall man replied.
"Kick his butt!" Daiki shouted.
"Good," Izumi jumped the barricade and called on her quirk. "EVERYONE STEP BACK!" Her now thunderous voice echoed out.
"FUCK!" the slime cried out seeing a dragon appear. "Wait you're a Black Dragon! You should be helping me!" he shouted.
Izumi planted her feet giving the sludge a staredown. She channeled all the fury she normally kept reserved for her family. The rage wasn't a burning inferno but a cold dead winter. "One chance. Give up," Izumi growled.
The Sludgeman didn't move as the two stared at one another. Even the young man trapped in the slime had stopped. Ever so slowly as if the slightest misstep would cause death the villain moved. The young man was lowered to the ground and the filth started to coalesce down. Until what remained was a thin somewhat frail-looking man who offered his wrists up so he could be arrested.
~A few minutes later~
Izumi held Daiki in her arms once more as she finished giving her statement to an officer. Thankfully one of the shop owners gave her a set of clothes for saving his store. And with Kamui using his wood to hide her she was able to shift and change back safely.
"Hey!" Izumi turned hearing someone shouting at her. It was the blonde that the slime had.
"Can I help you?" Izumi asked looking up slightly at the then young man. Her eyes snapped to Daiki who tightened his grip on her shirt.
"He's scary," Daiki said softly.
"I didn't need your stupid help you wolf in sheep's clothing ass bitch," the ashy blonde growled.
"Excuse me," Izumi's mood darkened and her eyes narrowed at the explosive man.
"I had it under control. I didn't need you using me to make yourself look good," he snapped.
"Do yourself a favor and walk away," Izumi said coldly.
"That would be for the best," A third voice said making the blonde jump.
"Oh it's you," Izumi said seeing the tall man. The ashy blonde huffed and walked away while the tall blonde walked up.
"That was quite the display," the tall man said.
"Oh... I didn't recognize you at first. You're Sir Nighteye. Thank you for watching Daiki for me," Izumi said barely keeping her hero fawning under wraps.
"No worries. Thank you for saving the day," Nighteye gave a slight bow.
"I just did what I thought was right," Izumi replied.
"Either way. Thank you. Now to why I'm here. I wanted to ask if you were perhaps an aspiring hero?" Nighteye asked.
"Sort of. I did take the entrance exam today," Izumi replied.
"Well, I would like to offer you a place to legally train. Be that your body, mind, or quirk," Nighteye said handing Izumi a card. Izumi took it seeing it was a basic business card.
"Thank you," Izumi replied. She wasn't used to people helping her too often.
"That's the address to my hero agency. We have a very large onsite gym," Nighteye said. "I'll let you go now,"
"Thanks again. Have a good night," Izumi replied as the man left.
"Momma," Daiki spoke quietly.
"What's up?" Izumi gave her son her full attention.
"Spaghetti!" He shouted getting a laugh from his mother.
"I suppose that can be dinner," Izumi smiled.
~With Nighteye~
Mirai had barely turned the corner before he pulled out his phone and made a call. It picked up after the first ring. As always. "Mirai how have you been?" the booming voice of All Might answered.
"I've been well. I was wondering if you had some time to meet up. I think I might have found one," Mirai said.
"That was fast. I only just told you today of my plan. But very well. I'll be at U.A. all week. Stop by when you can," All Might replied.
"I'll be by tomorrow then," Mirai said.
"See you then my friend!" All Might laughed before hanging up.
"Normally he talks my ear off... Must actually be busy for once," Mirai chuckled.
~Midoriya Household~
"Momma," Daiki gave his best puppy dog eyes. Izumi sighed but nodded not even needing to know what the boy wanted.
"Go change. I'll move the furniture," Izumi said getting a happy shout as the boy ran upstairs. Izumi smiled watching him already pulling his clothes off as he ran. Once he was out of sight she pushed the couch back and stripped down. A moment later her dragon form filled the living room. She'd just laid down when Daiki returned. His little wings doing their best to keep him flying. Izumi almost squealed in delight.
"Daiki!" she cried happily. "You're flying!"
"I did it, momma!" Daiki cheered happily as the draconic family embraced. Once their excitement died down the two curled up on the ground and slowly drifted off to sleep.
