Chapter Nine: The Day Before Day One

~A/N~ Here's Chapter Nine. I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter Start!

~U.A. Dorm Rooms: Common Room~

Once the class had quieted down Izumi sat down with Ochaco and Daiki taking the spot next to her. She wasn't sure how much to tell the class. She wasn't sure if she wanted the class to know everything. At least not yet. She hadn't even told Ochaco the whole story yet.

"How about we do introductions before you get into the deep stuff?" A pink-skinned girl suggested. After another round of introductions, the class looked at Izumi and Daiki. It was 'storytime'.

"So I'll just say it. Yes, Daiki is my son. I didn't adopt him or take over raising him for someone else. I gave birth to him. I'd rather not go into the deeper side of it all.

"That's fair. How old is he?" Mina asked.

"Five and a half last week," Daiki said proudly from his spot on Ochaco's lap.

'Cute,' Several of the girls thought in unison.

"So how's class going to work for you then?" Mina asked.

"Nezu-san said he knew a good babysitter for Daiki while I'm in class. I'll be meeting them later," Izumi replied.

"The fuck," Izumi heard from behind. "The hell is some brat doing here?" More than a few voices groaned.

"Thought Sensei said to go to your dorm," Ochaco fired back. Her hands over Daiki's ears trying to block the cursing.

"Piss off round cheeks," Katsuki growled.

"Watch your mouth. There is a kid here," Mina said.

"I don't give a-" Katsuki stopped when Izumi stood and turned to him. "They let you in here?"

"I earned my spot," Izumi retorted knowing full well what was about to be told to her classmates.

"So you're playing the teachers just like you did that crowd," Katsuki stated. "How long are you going to fake it?"

"My family doesn't define who I am," Izumi returned as she now approached Katsuki. The majority of the class was lost. What did Izumi's family have to do with her getting in or not?

"I'm going to text sensei," Ochaco said quietly. Neither Katsuki nor Izumi heard her.

"Bullshit. Black Dragons are evil. You're a Black Dragon. So you're evil," Katsuki stated very matter of factly. Izumi sighed as the class started whispering to each other. She hoped that they wouldn't judge her but if the vast majority of previous encounters were anything to go by. At least a few of them would outright refuse to talk to her.

"Black Dragon this, Black Dragon that. All I ever hear is how I'm secretly evil because of my quirk. Because of the actions of my family. You're just like everyone else. You refuse to see beyond a single part of me. You can't see the person. You just see the quirk," Izumi had tears in her eyes now. She wanted to punch Katsuki so bad but she knew it would just reinforce what he had said about her. So instead she turned away.

"Momma," Daiki knew that look. That look said it was time to go. He quickly left Ochaco's lap and followed after her as she stepped past Katsuki.

"Midoriya," Ochaco followed just after them. She spared only a second to look at Katsuki. "You've just acted more like a villain than I've ever seen her act," That left Katsuki stunned.

"Why are you such a douche?" Kyoka asked from her seat on the couch.

"Piss off," Katsuki growled and left.

"What now?" Shota's asked as he walked in.

"Where do we start?" Denki said getting an exhausted sigh from Shota.

"What happened?" Shota asked.

"Well we were getting to know Midoriya-san and her son when Bakugo-san returned and-" Momo started to explain.

~America: Domain of Deathwing~

A tall lankly draconic man cackled as his fingers wove through their work. Next to him, a sort, portly, bald man watched in awe. The way his fingers moved was hypnotic. They weaved through the exposed flesh as if the muscle were water.

"Seeing you work truly is a gift," Garaki said as the draconic man laughed louder.

"You've still much to learn my young student," Maloriak grinned. "Your Nomu's are impressive but so simple. They would be worthless without your master's help,"

"Sensei's power is key that is true but they aren't worthless," Garaki defended.

"You're right. They can be doorstops," Maloriak laughed more.

"And what of this creation. What is its purpose?" Garaki asked.

"This little beauty is a gift," Maloriak said as he pulled his hands away. "Chimaeron will do what your master couldn't. It will kill All Might," Maloriak burst into laughter again. As he laughed the monstrosity before the two awoke and a high-pitched shriek echoed out.

~U.A. Midoriya Apartment~

Izumi nearly slammed the door shut after Daiki entered. It took all of her willpower not to. She was furious. She hadn't even fully turned away from the door when it opened and Ochaco entered.

"Hey," Ochaco spoke quietly.

"Hey," Izumi said not meeting Ochaco's eyes.

"Daiki," Ochaco spoke getting the boy's attention. "Get ready for bed. It's pretty late," When Izumi didn't counter her Daiki nodded and headed towards the bathroom.

"I shouldn't let it bother me," Izumi said coldly. Ochaco didn't respond. "It's stupid to let the words of someone I don't know to anger me so," Ochaco still didn't respond. "I should have better control over my anger. Lashing out would just make things worse," No response. Izumi finally looked to Ochaco. "What?" She couldn't take the staring anymore. "Say something," Izumi demanded. Ochaco chose to act rather than speak. She took a single step forward and pulled Izumi into a tight hug. Izumi hesitated for a moment then broke. She hugged Ochaco back and started to cry. Her face was buried in the taller girl's neck.

"It's ok to be angry," Ochaco said softly starting to rub Izumi's back. Izumi pushed into the hug more as a soft sob echoed out. Ochaco returned the tightened embrace.

From the hall, Daiki smiled lightly at Ochaco before heading to bed. Mochimon was good for Momma. He really hoped she stayed around unlike metalman, loud guy, or funny girl. {1}

~Great Britain: Domain of Alexstrasza~

Deep within the domain of the Red Dragonflight rested its queen. The Ruby Queen Hero: Alexstrasza. She yawned from behind her desk. Nothing could make paperwork fun. She wanted to stop and have a nice hot bath but she needed to stay focused. She was almost done. Her eyes drifted to the calendar that hung on the wall. She could swear it was mocking her. The circled days just laughed at her. She sighed and returned to her work. She just had to make it through a few more days. Then she'd finally have some time off. Then she could finally go to Japan. She'd get to see her sister Ysera again. But far more important to her was who else was waiting in Japan. A 'Daughter' and a grandson she'd not met yet. She wanted to meet Izumi and learn of Calen's last days. But if she was truthful with herself wanted to meet Daiki more. The child of her youngest. The child of the child that had been stolen from her. The second child that had been stolen from her. Her eyes drift towards a photo on her desk. A family photo. The last one she had with her family whole.

"Mother!" The door slammed open as a large man ran in. The man easily matched All Might in stature and mass. He was Alexstrasza's eldest son and would soon be strong enough to take over leadership of the Red Flight.

"Vaelen what's wrong?" Alexstrasza asked almost knocking her desk over as she leapt to her feet. She'd never known Vaelen to barge in. Then she saw his face. Tears ran down his cheeks. Alexstrasza froze. What had happened? Had one of her children been hurt? Had one been stolen from her again? She didn't know if her heart could handle losing another that way.

"It's..." Vaelen spoke so softly. As if what he was about to say was a whisper of a dream. "Nana," Alexstrasza could've sworn her heart stopped at that moment. Vaelen hadn't spoken that name in decades. Not since her disappearance and believed death.

"What about Nana?" Alexstrasza asked. A glimmer of hope ignited in her heart. Could it be? Could her eldest daughter be alive?

"She's alive," Vaelen said shaking in joy. "All Might found her. She's in Japan," Alexstrasza's eyes snapped to the calendar.

"Call Tyran and Krasus. Tell them to take over for me. I'm going to Japan early," Alexstrasza said sternly. Vaelen nodded and left while his mother grabbed her phone. She needed to tell the heads of the hero commission her vacation was being moved up.

~End Notes~ I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Also not sure if I stated it yet but Izumi is about 152cm-ish or just at Five-foot. Same Height as Toru.

{1} Just wanna see if you can guess who her other 'lovers' are. They are canon characters around her age. So funny girl is not Emi. I think it's somewhat obvious but hey guessing games are fun.
