Chapter Fourteen: Heroics Class Part Two

Chapter Start!

~Training Ground Beta~

All Might had barely finished his explanation before the class exploded into questions. He quickly squashed the question with a simple clap. Simple would be an understatement. It sounded like thunder and caused several students to flinch back.

"Might-sensei," Izumi spoke from the now deafening silence.

"Young Midoriya," All Might's eyes fell on her. Izumi found herself feeling small for the second time that day.

"If chosen to be a villain can I select the building I'll be 'protecting' my weapon?" Izumi asked. "Simply put I wouldn't use a building I can't transform in,"

All Might rubbed his chin for a moment then smirked. "Yes. I will allow any villain teams to take a few minutes to choose where they would like to defend,"

"Thank you Sensei," Izumi gave a quick bow and stepped back.

"By that logic shouldn't we pick our teams?" Sero asked.

"Don't push it," All Might said with a laugh. "Now come up and pick lots," he added.

Izumi tried not to feel vindicated at this moment. She had correctly guessed that she'd wind up being a villain for this. She wasn't looking forward to facing Bakugo though. She knew if, when, her team won he'd probably pull some bull about her already being a villain. A soft sigh from beside her snapped her from her downward spiral before it could fully start.

Izumi looked over to Kyoka taking in her hero outfit quickly. She was a lot like Shiozaki in that she wasn't dressed for the limelight. She wore a pair of black pants and a black jacket with a dark pink shirt under it. What stood out to Izumi however was the gun on her hip. It was a very sleek black pistol.

"You have a gun?" Izumi asked surprised.

"Yeah, it's an M1911 otherwise known as a Colt. I've got modified rounds obviously. Not going to be shooting proper bullets at people," Kyoka said as she patted the holster. "I've got her loaded with tranq rounds for training,"

"I didn't think you of all people would use a gun," Izumi stated.

"If my quirk was an exact copy of my mom's yeah. But thanks to my old man's quirk my ears can't lose hearing. His quirk is called Perfect Ears no matter how loud something is he doesn't lose hearing. Always said it was the perfect quirk for a musician. Hence being the lead singer and guitarist for Deep Dope," Kyoka explained a smile on her face.

"That's awesome," Izumi said with a huge smile on her face. "I have so many things I want to ask... but that will have to wait.

"Heroes you may enter!" All Might's voice rang out.

"Go. I'll guard," Kyoka said drawing her pistol. Izumi nodded and took off a plan already forming in her head.

Katsuki was annoyed. His day had started on the good side. He'd gotten plenty of sleep, eaten a good breakfast, understood everything in all his classes, and even gotten 'Hero' for his first heroics class. But when he heard he had to face that damned overgrown lizard his mood had soured. He wasn't stupid. He knew dragon quirks were among some of the most powerful. So while his quirk was plenty powerful and, in his own words, perfect to make him number one. He wasn't dumb enough to think he could easily push around a dragon.

"Got a plan Bakubro?" Ejiro asked.

"Kick that stupid overgrown lizard's ass, blow up emo bitch, and win," Bakugo growled.

"Woah man," Eijiro said. "Not manly. They have names,"

"Like I give a shit about some extra's name," Bakugo snapped. He may not have a plan but he sure as hell wasn't going to lose. Not to the villain in hiding.

"Heroes you may enter!" All Might's voice called out.

"Finally," Bakugo grinned as he stepped into the large building. That pissed him off even more. The lizard bitch got to pick her place. Just give her all the advantages.

It was dark. All the lights were out and there were almost no windows. Katsuki didn't like this. Something felt off. Ejiro was two steps behind him with his arms up defensively. So he felt it too. Good he wasn't totally useless.

A deep rolling growl rumbled through the halls. The two hero hopefuls stopped as they felt everything shaking slightly. "I can smell you," A dark voice growled.

"Oh crap," Eijiro said as he brought his arms up a bit more to sure up his defense.

"I can hear the beating of your hearts," Izumi's voice rolled out again.

"Stupid intimidation tactics," Katsuki snorted.

"How they beat faster with each passing moment. The fear rolling off you is palpable,"

"Gotta give it to Midobro. She's scary," Ejiro said.

"Shut up," Katsuki snapped as he rounded a corner. It took all of his willpower to not scream as a maw of teeth snapped shut missing his face by a hair's breadth.

"Found you," Izumi growled as she rounded the corner on the now retreating heroes. Ejiro grabbed Katsuki and run the moment he saw Izumi.

"Fucking let go of me," Katsuki growled trying to get his footing back.

"Nope we gotta move," Eijiro said as he burst through the first door he could see. 'She'll have to change back to fit through. We can beat her before she changes,'

~Observation Room~

"I'm really glad that I'm not fighting her," Denki said as he watched what equated to a real-life jump scare for Bakugo and Kirishima.

"As I said," Ochaco started. "Outside of Todoroki, I'm not sure any of us could challenge her. Dragons are crazy,"

"What does she even need to learn?" Hanta asked.

"Just having a strong quirk doesn't mean you're ready to be a hero," Momo countered.

"Yeah she may not need much in the way of quirk training but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a lot to learn," Denki added getting a gentle smile from Momo.

"Her skill with her quirk is terrifying. She was able to judge where she needed to be so when she changed she'd just miss Bakugo's face," Fumikage said as they saw Eijiro barrel through a door.

"Unless they have a plan the match is done," Ochaco said with a smirk.

"What makes you say that?" Mina asked.

"The room Kirishima dove into has no other ways in or out. They just trapped themselves in there,"

~With Izumi~

Izumi almost laughed as she charged at the two. She knew Kirishima was probably hoping she would change back to get through the door. Sadly for them, the wall around the door held no load-bearing walls.

"Knock Knock!" Izumi roared as she barreled through the wall. Surprisingly Bakugo was on her immediately. He'd gotten out of Kirishima's grasp and was peppering her with explosions.

"Die you overgrown lizard!" Bakugo shouted as he continued his rapid-fire explosions.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A LIZARD!"Izumi roared her claw lashing out. Bakugo narrowly dodged it with a pair of explosions to push himself back. As he hit the ground and slid back a few feet he saw red pass him. Kirishima charged in.

"Idiot don't!" Bakugo shouted too late. Izumi spun hitting the hardening man with her tail and throwing him through the opposite wall.

"I'm good!" Kirishima's voice called from the hole.

"Go find the emo bitch. I'll handle the lizard," Bakugo growled as he shot at Izumi again. Explosions started to pepper the dragon again.

"Gnat!" Izumi growled her claws narrowly missing Bakugo again. He was very agile and it was annoying the dragon.

~With Kirishima~

He really didn't like ditching his partner but he had to agree. Divide and conquer was their only shot at winning. So rather than go back and try to help he left to find Jiro. As so far his search wasn't going great. He'd already gone up two flights and he'd not seen high or low of the punk rock girl.

His search came to an end when a blast of compressed soundwaves slammed into his back. He'd never have guessed that it would sting that much. He thought it feel more like being hit by a wall.

"Found you," Kyoka said her jacks returning to their normal length.

"Works for me. Now I can beat you and search for the weapon," Eijiro returned as his body hardened.

"Sure you'll be able to do that?" Kyoka asked. Eijiro was about to ask when he felt it. His body felt numb. No, numb wasn't the right word. It felt like his body was asleep. He dropped to a knee as he desperately tried to shake off the sleepiness.

"Wha-" Ejirio tried to speak.

"Tranq Round," Kyoka said waving her gun.

"Oh," was all Eijiro was able to say before he dropped forward out cold.

"Well, that was easy. I probably shouldn't have used this," Kyoka said looking at her gun for a few seconds before holstering it.

"Kirishima is eliminated," All Might's voice spoke.

~With Bakugo~

Bakugo was getting exhausted. It didn't seem to matter how many explosions he hit Izumi with she just wouldn't go down. He knew he was starting to run low on time. But his trump card was almost ready. He just needed a few more moments.

"Kirishima is eliminated," All Might's voice echoed out.

"One down, one to go," Izumi laughed as her tail lashed out missing Bakugo by a few inches.

"Enough of this!" Bakugo jumped back his gauntlets both flashed for a brief moment. The moment they did a feral grin crossed Bakugo's face. it was time to unleash.

"Giving up?" Izumi asked.

"Not on your life you overgrown gecko!" Bakugo yelled as he brought his gauntlets together. With a soft clicking noise both revealed a hooked pin.

"Gecko!" Izumi roared jumping at Bakugo.

"Perfect!" Bakugo hooked the pins and pulled. "Grenadier Bracers: Twin Impact! " Both gauntlets expended their full charges into Izumi's chest. Smoke and fire filled everything. The entire building shook as Bakugo's explosion tore through it.

~Observation Room~

Everyone was left in shock as the frankly gargantuan explosion tore through not just the building the fight was happening in but the adjacent building as well.

"IZUMI!" Ochaco screamed as the camera feeds cut.

"The building is coming down!" Tenya shouted seeing the outside feed of the building. Bakugo's explosion had torn out too many load-bearing walls.

"Everyone stay here," All Might said as he dashed out of the room.

~With Kyoka~

Kyoka was panicking. The whole building was coming down and she could barely lift Kirishima to try and get them out. She knew she wasn't the strongest person but Kirishima was absurdly heavy.

"Really wish I hadn't knocked you out now," Kyoka said as the floor started to shake. Kyoka's eyes went wide. The floor was going to give out any second. She was given two options. She could ditch Kirishima and maybe make it out or she could keep trying to carry him and undoubtedly go down with the building. That was wrong. She had one option. She'd never be able to forgive herself if she ditched Kirishima.

"Sorry, Kirishima. Looks like our swan songs are playing," Kyoka said. Her eyes closed as the floor started to give. She could already feel the wind as she fell.

Kyoka's eyes snapped open as her feet touched solid ground. She was outside and a good two blocks away from the collapsing building. Tears started to fill her eyes as she saw the blur heading back toward the building. All Might had saved them. The wind she felt was him catching and moving them to safety. Kyoka's legs gave out as she dropped Kirishima.

"Ugh," Kirishima's voice grumbled out as consciousness slowly came back to him. "What happened?" He asked slowly trying to push himself up. In a flash, Bakugo was suddenly beside them. Only he was out cold and his gauntlets were gone.

Kyoka nearly screamed as she saw the building fully collapse. Izumi wasn't with them. Had All Might not been able to find her? Was she buried?

All Might didn't stop even as the building came down. From the looks of the hit Izumi might not have been in the building. With a clap, he cleared the area of dust. With his vision clear he was able to see a hole in the wall of the adjacent building. A second later he was inside and saw Izumi. She was out cold and in bad shape. From the looks of it, the initial explosion must have knocked her out and caused her to revert. All Might turned and dashed away. Unlike the others, he couldn't safely move Izumi. He needed to grab a stretcher and a pair of medical bots.

~Observation Room~

Ochaco wasn't sure what happened. After Bakugo's explosion, everything went dark. She felt herself being moved back and forth slowly. She also felt warmth around her and someone was holding her hands. Everything started to come back. She blinked a few times and saw Tsuyu come into her vision. Said frog girl was the one holding her hands. When had she sat down? When had she gotten a blanket put over her shoulders? She looked right to see Momo was the one gently rocking her. Mina was on her left rubbing slow circles on her back.

"What happened?" Ochaco asked.

"You fainted when the building collapsed, kero," Tsuyu stated.

"I... fainted?" Ochaco asked.

"To be fair if I saw the building my girlfriend was in go down I'd probably freak too," Toru said getting a nod from several classmates.

"Izumi!" Ochaco leaped to her feet. "Is she ok? Did All Might get her out in time?" Ochaco's head spun and she dropped back down. She'd gotten up way too fast.

"We don't know. All Might took Jiro-san, Kirishima-san, and Bakugo-san to Recovery Girl. Midoriya-san was taken by medical bots," Denki explained.

"Greetings!" everyone jumped as a voice came over the intercom. "It is I Dean Nezu. Class has been temporarily delayed. You all may return to your dorms. We will complete the rest of the Battle Trials tomorrow. Uraraka-san you are cleared to come to Recovery Girl's office if you like," The intercom cut out and the class started to move.

"Why can't we all go check on them?" Hanta asked aloud.

"That would be far too many people in Recovery Girl's office," Tenya stated with chopping arms.

"That and Uraraka-san is only going because she's with Midoriya-san," Ibara stated.

"Fair," Hanta said as Ochaco broke off heading towards the main school.

"Tell Midori and the rest we all hope they are ok and or get better soon!" Mina shouted as Ochaco started to run.

"Running isn't necessary!" Tenya shouted to deaf ears.

~End Notes~ I hope you liked the chapter. And yes I did modify Bakugo's gauntlets so he could fire both at the same time. Just felt like something early series bakugo would do. And now next time Bakugo faces consequences for his actions like he never did in Cannon.
