Chapter Fifteen: Status and Punishment
~A/N~ Here is 15. I hope you all enjoy it. A Note to save my sanity from having to write out Alexstrasza constantly I'll also be referring to her as Alex. Unless someone is talking to her then she'll have her proper name
~Summary~ Fallout from Izumi's Battle Trial.
Chapter Start!
~U.A. Medical Ward~
Recovery Girl was tired of a great many things. She was tired of her joints aching so much. She was tired of the paperwork that came with being the sole nurse at U.A. University. But most of all she was tired of students coming into her ward badly hurt.
She had half thought that maybe she would make it through the day without incident. She was sorely mistaken. First, a pink-haired girl and a small green boy from the support course needed healing after causing multiple explosions in the labs. Then Hado-san needed healing after she overexerted her quirk while training in flying. Thankfully she hadn't been too high up and just sprained her ankle. And now she had a critical condition girl in front of her who had a very small chance of survival. Third and Fourth degree burns on her chest, stomach, thighs, and arms. Six broken ribs and five more fractured. Both of her arms and legs were broken. A serious concussion and Severe internal bleeding. All stuff she could fix except her patient was exhausted.
"I'm not sure I'll be able to save this one. She doesn't have the time or energy," Recovery girl said softly. That was when something came to her. Someone was on campus that could help. She hobbled over to her phone as quickly as she could. Thankfully it seemed Nezu knew she was about to call and it rang right before she could pick up the phone.
"Can you get Alexstrasza here as quickly as possible," Chiyo said before hanging up and moving to the window. Once the window was fully opened she moved back to Midoriya. They had one chance at this but she had to make sure she stayed alive long enough.
~Midoriya Apartment~
Nana and Alex smiled as they watch Daiki snoozing on the couch. True the boy was a little old to need naps anymore but this was a special occasion. Meeting his grandmother and aunt had taken a bit more out of him than his normal day.
Alex snapped up as her phone vibrated in her pocket. She was on vacation so nobody should be texting her. So something was wrong. "Mom?" Nana said softly seeing Alex checking her phone. Her face went pale as she read.
"I'm needed in Recovery Girl's office now," Alex said before looking down at Daiki.
"What happened?" Nana asked as Alex was already heading to the balcony.
"Izumi is badly hurt," Alex replied as she almost threw the balcony doors off their hinges.
"Momma!" Daiki cried out having woken up in time to hear what was said. Alex didn't hesitate to leap off the balcony and moments later her dragon form was speeding towards the school.
"Daiki," Nana said catching the boy as he tried to run after her mother.
"I want to see Momma!" Daiki cried trying to free himself from Nana's arms.
"Settle down. I'll take you to see her," Nana said trying and failing to calm the frantic child in her arms.
"Momma!" Daiki screamed as he broke free of Nana's arms. He ran towards the still-open door to the balcony.
"DAIKI!" Nana screamed as she ran after the boy. Before he could jump the balcony Nana caught him.
"Momma!" Daiki cried again.
"Daiki!" Nana shouted finally getting the irate boy's attention. "We're going but you gotta settle down," She pleaded.
"But Momma's hurt," Daiki cried.
"I know, I know," Nana said pulling Daiki close. The boy started wailing into her chest. Once he was secure in her arms Nana closed the balcony door and started making her way toward the school.
~With Bakugo: A while earlier~
Bakugo shook his head as consciousness returned. He couldn't remember what knocked him out. But whatever it was left a mark if the wrappings around his head were anything to go by.
"Ah good, you're awake," Bakugo looked to see Nezu sitting in a chair beside the bed.
"The-" he tried to start.
"I will be the one talking. You will only speak when spoken to. Am I clear," Nezu said with a heavy glare. For once Bakugo thought better and just nodded. Something about that look in Nezu's eyes told him to listen.
"Firstly, what do you remember?" Nezu asked.
"Battle trial. I was teamed up with Shitty-Hair against Emo-Bitch and the Lizard," Bakugo replied. Nezu's eyes narrowed ever so slightly.
"Kirishima-san, Jiro-san, and Midoriya-san. I suggest you use their names from here out," Again Nezu spoke in a tone that allowed no arguments. "Continue,"
"Match started and we entered. Midoirya surprised us and we faught. Kirishima went to find the weapon. I beat Midoriya then nothing," Bakugo said with pride.
"You failed to mention where you used the full power of both gauntlets. Gauntlets that were never tested before this training. Thus bringing the building down which nearly killed you, Jiro-san, and Kirishima-san. As for Midoriya-san, she is still fighting for her life," Nezu stated.
"She's a Black Dragon that explosion shouldn't have done much," Bakugo said snarkily.
"Did you not hear me say 'Fighting for her life'?" Nezu asked now standing on the chair. "Understand that if Midoriya-san dies you will be expelled and put on trial for Manslaughter,"
"Bullshit," Bakugo snapped sitting up. "It's not my fault she was too weak to handle my best," Nezu saw red. He'd seen plenty of cocky and or arrogant students in his time. Bakugo apparently wanted to win the spot of the worst student ever. It took everything Nezu had to rein in his rage.
"I am one who believes in second chances," Nezu said softly. "You will be facing in-school suspension, therapy, heavily monitored quirk training, and removal from the heroics class,"
"That's bullshit!" Bakugo shouted.
"That's your best case," Nezu stated coldly. "Should anyone from this 'accident' press charges you will be expelled and handed over to Musutafu's police," he added causing Bakugo to freeze. "You are on the thinnest of ice possible at this point. If I were you I'd be praying," Nezu fished as he dropped off the chair and left a still-stunned Bakugo.
~With Recovery Girl~
Chiyo was doing everything she could to keep Midoriya breathing. Her heartbeat was incredibly weak and her vitals were dipping. She wasn't going to make it.
"Chiyo!" a thunderous voice shouted. Chiyo looked up just as Alextrasza came flying through the window. She'd just barely managed to shift back before she would've crashed through the window and wall.
"I need you to stabilize her," Chiyo called out as Alex ran over her hands already blazing red. The moment her hands reached Izumi Chiyo leaned in and started healing.
"What the hell happened?" Alex asked.
"I'll explain after," Chiyo replied as the two went to work. Alextrasza like all dragons has a unique gift that came with her quirk. Her gift was the ability to transfer her stamina to others allowing them to continue on even after they exhausted themselves. Something she was now doing to Izumi allowing Chiyo to heal the broken woman. Alex could feel the pull on her reserves. Izumi was far more hurt than expected.
'I'm going to kill whoever hurt my daughter,' Alex thought as she closed her eyes to concentrate.
~U.A. Dorms: Outside~
Kyoka Jiro sat on the porch of the dorms trying to clear her head. The day had been harrowing for her. She had come so close to dying. Her hands were still shaking from it. All her attempts to calm herself weren't working.
"Hey," Kyoka almost screamed. She'd been so out of it she hadn't heard someone sit next to her. She smiled seeing it was Kirishima.
"I wanted to thank you," Ejiro started a soft smile on his face as he looked up to the sky. "If you hadn't been trying to lug me out All Might might not have found me in time,"
"I couldn't just leave you," Kyoka returned her face getting just a little red from Eijiro's praise.
"I'm glad you've got such a heroic heart," Eijiro said a big smile coming to his face. Kyoka had to look away. His smile was too bright. Then an idea came to her.
"Well if you want to thank me," Kyoka said. "Help me get stronger. I could barely lift you," she added.
"You're a lot stronger than you think but heck yeah I'll help," Eijiro stated.
"What do you mean?" Kyoka asked.
"I weigh three hundred seventy-five pounds," Eijiro said a dusting of red coming to his face.
"Bullshit," Kyoka shot back.
"No lie," Eijiro returned. "My quirk messed with my body pretty heavily. My bones are around three times denser than your average person and my muscles are more compacted so it doesn't show as much," That was not showing as much? Ejirio was ripped beyond belief.
"Well still I'd like to get stronger," Kyoka said now feeling a little better about how much she struggled to carry Eijiro.
"Heck yeah!" Eijiro jumped up. "Let's start now!"
"N... Now?" Kyoka asked shocked by Eijiro's outburst.
"Yeah!" He grinned brightly. "Go get in workout clothes and we'll go to the campus gym," Kyoka watched as Eijiro ran into the dorms to grab his clothes.
"What did I just volunteer for," Kyoka said to herself as she got up and headed inside.
~Outside Recovery Girl's Office~
Ochaco sat quietly her hands clenched so tightly she was sure she'd be bleeding if her nails were any longer. It was taking everything she had not to bawl. Her lip couldn't stop quivering. She hadn't felt this scared in her life. 'You can't die,' Ochaco chanted in her head.
"Mochimon!" Ochaco's head snapped up seeing Daiki wrestle from Nana's arms. The boy sprinted over jumping into Ochaco's arms. That did it. She couldn't hold back the tears anymore. With Daiki already crying in her arms her will shattered.
"Momma's hurt," Daiki wailed into her chest. Ochaco patted Daiki's back trying to soothe the boy.
"I know," Ochaco said trying to stop her tears. Daiki needed her to be strong right now.
Nana watched the two for a moment before slipping passed and going to see how Izumi was doing. She saw her mother and Chiyo both standing over Izumi but neither was doing anything.
"How's she doing?" She asked quietly.
"We just got done," Alex answered watching Izumi. Nana got more worried. Her mother looked tired. How much energy had she used up to help?
"Thanks to your mother we were able to heal the major problems. But I can only heal so much at once. Help or no it's not safe to use my quirk too much in one sitting," Chiyo explained as Nana walked up to see Izumi still have severe burn scarring over her body.
"What happened?" Nana nearly growled.
"During a training exercise one of the students she was facing seemingly snapped when he couldn't hurt her and went all out," Chiyo stated.
"The kid was losing so he tried to kill Izumi instead?" Nana asked.
"Not just Midoriya-san. The explosion he caused nearly got two others and himself killed," Chiyo stated.
"This kid's been arrested yes?" Alex asked.
"At the moment no. Nezu is going to try and give him another chance. That's if the parents of the other two students involved don't want to press charges," Chiyo explained.
"Have they been told what happened yet?" Alex asked.
"They are on the way to be briefed," Chiyo replied. "Why?" She asked seeing rage in Alex's eyes.
"Midoriya Izumi is the mother of one that belongs to my clutch. As far as I'm concerned she is my child now," Alex said standing straighter. "I'm going to speak with Nezu," Without another word she started to leave
"You can send the other two in. I know they'll want to see her," Chiyo called out as Alex reached the door.
~Nezu's Office: Same time~
Nezu was quiet as he sat with the parents of the day's incident. Or at least the parents that had come. Jiro Mika, Kirishima Himawari, and Bakugo Mitsuki. Jiro Kyotoku was on tour with his band Deep Dope, Kirishima Tsukishima had simply not come, and Bakugo Mitsuki was a single mother having lost her husband a few years ago in a villain attack on a mall.
The three mothers had just finished watching the events of the battle trial. Kirishima Himawari was an emotional wreck. Seeing how close her son had come to dying had set off her waterworks. Nezu handed her a box of tissues.
"How... How is Midoriya-san?" Mitsuki asked nervously. The woman was barely containing herself. Nezu could tell from a glance what was going through the woman's head. She was furious with her son and terrified for Midoriya.
"Currently I am unsure. Recovery Girl is doing everything she can to save her," Nezu replied.
"What's to become of Bakugo Katsuki?" Mika asked.
"At the moment in-school suspension, therapy, heavily monitored quirk training if any, and obviously removal from the heroics class," Nezu answered.
"Not expulsion?" Mitsuki asked in shock.
"I believe in second chances," Nezu said.
"What if we want a harsher punishment?" Mika asked.
"All I ask is you reserve expulsion for a second incident. I know you may not like to hear that but I truly believe keeping Bakugo-san enrolled here will be better for everyone. With him here we can keep an eye on him and make sure he gets the therapy he needs," Nezu explained.
"I personally think he should be thrown in Tartarus," Himawari said. "But you're right,"
"Seems like our final parent is here," Nezu said pushing a button in his desk. The three mothers all froze seeing the Aspect walk in.
"Nezu," Alex said coldly.
"Wonderful to see you again," Nezu returned gesturing to a cup of tea and an open chair. Alex walked up but didn't take either.
"I know you're smart enough to know what I'm going to say," Alex's eyes flashed red almost daring Nezu to speak. "But I'm going to say it anyways. She may not be blood but Midoriya Izumi is my child. So if that brat ever comes close to my child again. I. Will. Burn. Everything," Nezu wisely nodded and chose no words. Alex closed her eyes and took a slow breath. When she looked at Nezu again he saw only sorrow. "I can't lose another,"
"I understand," Nezu said solemnly. "And I swear it no matter what Bakugo Katsuki will be kept far from Midoriya Izumi and Midoriya Daiki," With a nod, Alex turned to leave.
"Wait," A voice spoke. Alex turned to see an ashy blonde woman had moved and was now on the ground bowing low to her.
"Yes?" Alex asked. She figured this was the mother of that brat. Probably getting ready to beg forgiveness for her son.
"Thank you," That surprised her. "You could've punished my son however you felt and you chose to give him a chance to get better. I know you have no desire to hear from the mother that failed to raise her child. But thank you for being merciful. Thank you so, so much," the woman was in tears as she spoke. She was bearing her heart at this moment.
"There is much wrong with your boy. But I'm willing to believe that there is a chance he's not a monster," Alex said. With her words said she left.
~U.A. Medical Ward~
Izumi was in so much pain. Everything hurt. Her scales hurt. She didn't even want to think about how her scales hurt when she wasn't in her dragon form. She wanted nothing more than to curl up on the couch with Daiki and Ochaco and sleep for the next month.
She'd only just started to wake up when the pain washed over her. She groaned deeply as she tried to figure out where she was. Her eyes snapped to her right when a small hand grabbed hers. Daiki. Her baby boy was looking at her with teary eyes and a wobbly smile.
"Momma," Daiki said happily. Summoning what strength she could Izumi grabbed Daiki and pulled him into her arms. The boy wailed in joy. He cried and cried into her chest. Saying how happy he was that she was ok and how she wasn't supposed to get hurt at school.
"I'm sorry baby," Izumi said trying to comfort her son despite barely being able to hold him. His weight on her chest hurt so much but she couldn't no wouldn't let her baby go right now.
"Izumi," A voice spoke from the doorway. Her eyes found Ochaco in the doorway with a pair of juice boxes. Tears formed in her eyes as quickly as they had Daiki's. The juice boxes slowly floated up as they slipped from Ochaco's hands. She moved slowly. As if one false move would make her disappear.
"Ocha," Izumi said softly pushing her head up slightly. Ochaco knew what she wanted right away. The brunette leaned down and they shared a soft kiss. Ochaco's hands found her cheeks holding her in place and they kissed. Neither cared that the other was crying now. They all were just happy.
~End Notes~ I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I didn't have Izumi get fully healed so I could ask you, my wonderful readers, if I should leave the burns or not. To have Izumi scarred by fire despite being a black dragon. So let me know what you think and I'll see you in the next chapter.
P.S. I have no idea when any story will update next. It really depends on my brain.
