When Keldeo woke up again, his body finally registered the immense pain it was in. Worst of all, there wasn't a body of water nearby to begin numbing the pain. He was able to stand up and move around slowly, but much else proved too strenuous for him. He found himself in a large, spacious building made out of wood, multiple stables lining the walls. A quick look relieved him as he saw the cobalt medallion not too far away from where he woke up. He saw a bowl of strange brown shapes beside a bowl of water. He opted to drink the water and avoid the terrible smelling shapes.
"Where am I now?" Keldeo thought aloud. Looking around for a way out. He did see open windows around the buildings, but in his current state, he wasn't jumping to any of them. That's when he turned to the large, double doors beside him. He tried to push it open, but it didn't budge. In his frustration he tried to kick it open, not only did it not succeed, he sucked air through his teeth sharply, in agony from such little exertion. He really was hurt.
Then Keldeo heard the sound of loud metallic clunks from the other side of the door. Eventually the door opened, revealing a large human with a crammed backpack on his back. His blonde hair and shaved sides were slick with sweat, given the heat of the summer sun it made sense. He was in an ill fitted plain white t-shirt and jeans, dressing light and simple. Keldeo had half a mind to try and charge through to escape, but between his body in pain and not having the medallion, he didn't have enough time to make an escape work. He sighed as the human closed the door behind him.
"Good to see you're awake…" the human turned to Keldeo with a smile. He waddled into the stable where Keldeo had woken up, looking over the room "Thirsty...but not very hungry...hmm…" the human adjusted his thick black glasses, reaching into his backpack and pulling out a water bottle, refilling the bowl. Keldeo didn't take his eyes off of him, an intense glare watching him as he moved around the room.
"Why are you helping me?" Keldeo asked, but the human did not respond.
"Lemme tell ya, this is exactly what I needed, feel like I'm doing something good. Get my Auntie off my back about the job and school. I've watched her do this sorta thing enough times, this shouldn't be too hard…" the human was talking to himself now, removing more items from his backpack.
"Didn't you hear me? I'm talking to you!" Keldeo limped forward to the human, but again the human did not register anything. The human reached for the medallion and that's when Keldeo attempted to jump "Hey! Don't touch that!" Keldeo nudged the human in his pudgy side with his horn, making him drop it.
"Ow! Alright, it's personal I get it...you're pretty talkative with all those noises you make." the human rubbed his side as he placed the medallion down, opening his laptop and typing.
Keldeo blinked, that's why the human wasn't responding to anything. He couldn't understand him like Cody and the others could without the medallions. Maybe if he put it on he would understand him. Maybe he would even transform into Cobalion, that would save him a step! Keldeo moved to the medallion and tossed it on the thing he was typing it on.
"What?" the human asked, watching Keldeo nod quickly "What you want me to...wear it now?" The human closed his laptop, grabbing the medallion and fixing the chain in the back, putting it on proper "You really gotta make up your mind, y'know…" the human slipped it on and gave it a little flick for good measure "There. Happy now?"
"Can you understand me now? Who are you? Where am I?" Keldeo asked, getting his front hooves on the human's lap now.
"Hey! Get down now." the human stood up. Keldeo shrank back, the confused look on his face told Keldeo all he needed to know; the human still didn't understand him. That means it only worked for Cody now, it probably meant the same for Terrence and Vera. And he attacked them and ran away.
"You're pretty limber for being injured, y'know?" the human sat back down, reaching into his backpack and grabbed a small Tupperware container of blueberries. Keldeo's eyes lit up to that, remembering he hadn't eaten in a while, and those looked really good.
"Now what?" the human looked at Keldeo's expression and how it looked at the blueberries "Oh! You want…-?" the human grabbed a handful and offered it to Keldeo. As hesitant as Keldeo was to accept food from a stranger, his hunger said otherwise as he happily ate them from the hand.
"So you like blueberries...noted." the human smiled, typing away at his laptop "So you're a blue...unicorn horse thing, and you like blueberries. I think I'll call you Blue for now." the human said proudly. Keldeo had multiple objections to such an idea, but he wouldn't be able to hear them anyways.
"You know. My dad would have had a fit if he found something like you." the human chuckled, Keldeo was returning to his straw bed to rest his body "He was a major paranormal chaser. Made a business out of it even…" the smile faded from the human's expression "But that was a long time ago, and he's gone now...but I've been keeping the tradition going. I'd like to think he'd be proud." the human turned to Keldeo, who was watching him intently now "Sorry...you probably didn't understand a word of that, did you?"
Keldeo did, but he decided not to respond, a nostalgic feeling sticking to him.
"Anyways…" the human stood up, adjusting his glasses to rub his eyes "I'll let you rest. I'll see if I can't find anything else you'd eat. Knowing you like blueberries is a good start…" the human packed his bag back up "See ya, Blue." he closed the door to the stable, then to the building itself. Keldeo was stuck here, but with someone like him, he'd probably be okay to lay low for the time being.
Quinn made his way back inside, seeing his aunt and uncle at the front, suitcases and travel bags ready to go.
"What are…-!" Quinn nodded "Right, Texas?"
"Yup, we're going to Horseshoe Bay this year." his aunt said.
"I don't know why you just do this stuff more local. You know Provincetown is right across the way? It'd be a couple hour drive at best."
"Can't stay where we are forever, it's nice to go to other places, see new things and meet new people." his uncle said "You can take care of the house while we're gone, right?"
Quinn scoffed "Of course. If I have any questions about Blue I'll be sure to call ya, Auntie." Quinn saw the confused from the both of them and laughed "Right. That's what I'm calling the unicorn." they both moaned in understanding.
"And I hope while we're gone you...you know…" his aunt began, the smile already fading from Quinn's face.
"Yeah. We'll see." The drained tone from Quinn was enough for his aunt and uncle to nod and begin leaving. Nevertheless, Quinn readily returned the hug and kissed them goodbye from the both of them. That killed the mood a little, but having the house to himself was a nice compensation. He climbed up the stairs and made it to his room and opened his laptop back up. He quickly typed into the document where he was keeping information on Blue.
"So he likes blueberries...so maybe a fruit based diet...I think we have some apples in the fridge...though at his size he might need big apples…-?" He was beginning to type when he noticed his computer was making a strange loud noise, despite his volume being set to near zero. Quinn looked at his computer confused as he heard the sound, he tried adjusting the volume of his laptop, but it kept sounding the same volume. It wasn't likely someone got onto his computer and was messing with him, this had to be something else. He was normally really good with computers; his aunt kept insisting he go to college for computers, but going to college didn't sound like a good time to him.
"Wait a minute…" Quinn thought quickly of opening up a visualizer program and letting the computer record the strange noise it made. To his relief the computer picked up the random sounding noise. He noticed it kept repeating itself and trimmed it down to the one part.
"A mystery and the unicorn creature so close together. How exciting…" Quinn jumped in his seat a little, admittedly giddy at the prospect of what was to come. He applied a spectrograph to the audio and it made an image; a square with numerous black and white squares within it. This wasn't the end though, and Quinn knew it. He recognized a picture like this.
"...Binary…" Quinn mumbled to himself. He opened up a text document and carefully wrote down what he saw; a black square meant a one, and a white square meant a zero. After minutes of typing he had the square in binary. He copied and pasted it into an online translator, one that could turn binary into letters. But to his dismay, it was only a bunch of squares, whatever this was being translated into, it wasn't any letter that he could see.
That's when Quinn saw it, the text document he had opened was having something typed into it. More binary, but he knew he couldn't translate it. Whatever was being typed it was repeating over and over again. He knew this was getting him nowhere, so he decided to try something.
"If you can understand me. Type '1' three times…" Quinn typed into the text document. He stared at the text box intensely, waiting.
"111" appeared in the textbox. Quinn's eyes lit up.
"I can't understand what you're saying in your language. Can you format your language like this..." Quinn began typing in a way so that the binary would equate to a letter in the mysterious figure's language and didn't know how well this was going to work, but he was willing to experiment to see what would work. Another pause, Quinn was leaning into his computer screen, on the edge of his seat. Finally, a formatted series of code appeared. It took Quinn a couple of hours, but he could make a rough translator for the strange language that this entity spoke. Then finally a long line of 0s and 1s. Quinn copied that into the converter and let it translate.
"Pokemon detected. Pokemon detected." Quinn muttered "What's a pokemon?" he asked aloud, he looked back at the text box, the same binary string was being repeated over and over "Who are you?" he finally texted back. A short pause, then the response, a quick trip to the translator…
"I am designated as Genesect. I have remained dormant within this house for ten years." Quinn looked away from the screen now. This was a joke, this had to be a joke. This was something out of a terrible story to prank him. While this 'Genesect' kept talking, Quinn checked who else was logged onto the wifi in the house or who was on his computer. But to his dismay, there was someone else on the wifi. Located within his house. And considering he was home alone now…
"Let's say I believe you." Quinn typed back "How do I find you?"
"I am located in the room that belonged to the president of the Paranormal Creature Society [P.C.S]. Located within this very building."
Quinn's heart sank, pushing away from the laptop and his desk. There was no way anyone could have known his connection to any of that. The president of the Paranormal Creature Society. Did his father actually manage to find something? This thing had been dormant for ten years, and his father disappeared ten years ago, presumed dead. He was on business in the western coast building of the P.C.S when an explosion razed the building, there were no survivors. But now Quinn couldn't help but wonder just far it went. First Blue, then Genesect. Maybe Blue was this pokemon that Genesect was referring too. This mystery was already becoming something he was afraid to figure, but he was already in so deep, and so close. His curiosity got the better of him, and he stepped out of his room, looking right down the room across the hallway. His aunt and uncle always kept that room locked, on account of it belonging to his deceased father. Quinn breathed a deep breath, equally excited and scared to see just what his father had left behind.
The first roadblock was the door itself, considering it was still locked. He wasn't going to be going inside anytime soon. He tried texting his aunt where the key might have been, but there was no response, she and his uncle were most likely on the plane to Horseshoe Bay already. He didn't have the strength to bust the door down, plus that would have been difficult to explain to his aunt and uncle when they returned. Then he noticed the screwheads on the sides of the door handle. He thought he saw a swiss army knife when he was cleaning his room a couple of days ago, but he didn't exactly keep track of where he had put it when he was done cleaning. Was he really going to try and just remove the handle like that?
After tearing his room apart for the swiss army knife. Quinn sighed in relief when he noticed one part of it was a screwdriver head for the screw he saw on the door. After a couple of minutes of spinning, he carefully removed the screws and the handle on his side, cursing when he heard the handle on the other side clatter to the floor. Nevertheless, he opened the door and stepped inside.
For as long as Quinn lived with his aunt and uncle, he had never stepped foot into this room. It was his aunt that was the sister to his father, and she was still sore about his passing, even after a decade. Quinn sneezed immediately upon entering, the dusty office assaulting his nose. Beyond the dust, it was an immaculately organized office, a large red carpet adorned the center of the room, all the furniture was made of dark wood. Now that the door was open, he walked back into his room and grabbed the laptop.
"I'm in the room." Quinn texted, looking around the room for any hint of something being out of the ordinary. Genesect wasn't responding yet, so he decided to look around. What caught his attention was a folder labeled "Project: Genesect" with his father's initials beneath. It was an assuring feeling to know it wasn't a trick, but he couldn't help himself as he grabbed the folder and opened it.
The document was dated ten years ago, and described the west coast P.C.S building. It made mention of weakening walls and a captive silver bird. Using this 'weakened wall' the P.C.S was able to make it to what they described as another dimension. It was in this dimension that they were able to locate and capture a red metallic insect. Research suggested that this metallic insect could have been reprogrammed to detain and capture more of these mysterious creatures that were appearing along the west coast of America. However, the project was scrapped when they failed to make the creature understand English, sticking with its strange foreign language. Quinn couldn't help but find delight in finding a way to understand it. It was also around this time the accident happened at the facility, after that, P.C.S was ruined. Project Genesect was relocated on the small chance the P.C.S made a resurgence. Quinn hadn't heard anything about that P.C.S until today, so he imagined how well that went.
His computer went off, he saw it was another text from Genesect "I am in the room."
"Duh…" Quinn muttered, putting the folder down and looking around again, some hint about where they were hiding Genesect here. He took a step forward and nearly stumbled on the carpet on the floor. He looked to where his foot got caught and glared "...No…" he crawled over to the edge of the carpet and lifted it up, a small smile forming as he noticed the loose floorboards beneath it. He pried them away and found a strange red device beneath the floorboards, plugged into something. He didn't see anything else in there, so maybe it was beneath the device. He unplugged the red device and lifted it out of the hole and set it beside him.
Before he could investigate further, he heard the sound of whirring technology and a familiar static noise. He looked over at the red device as it began to light up and transform. Its headlight-like eyes lit up as its front craned forward, forming into a head. Limbs appeared at its side and made the red device stand up. It investigated the room before resting its eyes on Quinn. Speaking in static once again.
"...Genesect…" Quinn pieced together. That's how it could access the house's wifi, it had been plugged in, forced into a dormant state for ten years, deemed a failure. Quinn watched Genesect in delight, until he noticed the cannon on his back begin to light up, more static being spoken that Quinn failed to comprehend "Wait wait…-!?" Quinn panicked to think of a reason for this thing to not blast him, then he saw the laptop on the desk still and pointed to it desperately "We were talking...I'm the one who freed you!" he breathed a sigh of relief when the light died down, Genesect looked at the laptop and cocked it's head, more static being stated "Hang on…" Quinn stood up slowly, lest Genesect shot him in reflex. He turned on the voice to text function on his laptop, making sure it ran through the translator he made for Genesect "Try talking now."
"You have freed me. You bear the face of my captor…" Genesect's static was being translated with a delay. Quinn looked to it in delight, before realizing what Genesect just said. Captor? And the file he had read commented on other captured creatures. Quinn didn't like the sound of that. It was one thing to be fascinated by and study the paranormal, but to capture, to do this to them…
"That was my father. He's gone now." Quinn said, praying that was enough to quell Genesect's anger "My name is Quinn."
"Name Identified: Quinn." Genesect beeped "Greetings, Quinn. I am Genesect, an experiment from collaboration between Team Plasma and P.C.S." Quinn had a knot in his stomach from hearing something like that. His father working with an organization as ridiculously named as Team Plasma could not have been a good deal. This thing was being experimented on and then stored away "Why have you freed me?" it asked.
Quinn looked to it "I...er...well, I like the paranormal and mysteries like my dad did. So this was just another mystery to me. It was kinda fun learning to make a translator for you.
"Acknowledged." Genesect turned to the laptop "The scientists of the P.C.S failed to implement your language into me." it turned back to Quinn "You are the first and only to attempt to understand my language."
"Er, thanks!" Quinn blushed "Happy to help. I guess." there was a pause as Genesect continued to inspect the room. Quinn looked outside, already seeing the sun begin to set behind the stable that held Blue. He turned to Genesect "Wait a minute...you said you could sense a...a pokemon around here…" he pointed to the stable "Is it in there?"
Genesect approached the window, his eyes flashing for a moment before turning to Quinn "Pokemon detected. Pokemon detected." it said almost impulsively "Contradiction detected. You do not capture like your father, but pokemon detected in the stable."
"I...I didn't capture it. It was injured and I'm keeping it in there until it recovers...and locking it in there so it didn't leave and…" Quinn faltered at the last part of that statement "Oh…" Quinn turned to Genesect "I was gonna let it go once it recovered, honest."
Genesect looked to Quinn, its eyes flashing again "Probability of truth: 85%" Genesect turned back to the stable; apparently that was acceptable to it. Quinn thought back to Blue, and how talkative it was. Was it actually trying to talk, much like Genesect was?
"Can you understand pokemon?" Quinn asked.
"I have been equipped to understand the language of pokemon of all species, the language of humans in the pokemon world, and the language American English." it said.
"Can you help me then? I think you might be what I need to help Blue out." Quinn smiled.
Genesect's eyes flashed again "Because you have freed me. I will assist you in translating for this pokemon."
"Great! Thank you so much!" Quinn nodded, watching Genesect shift back into its original shape when Quinn first found it. Quinn gasped when he saw Genesect hover and fly out of the room and down the stairs. Quinn was about to follow it, when he noticed one more thing in the hole where he had originally found Genesect. It was a rectangle container; when Quinn opened it, he found a number of different computer drives in it: one yellow, one red, one white, and one blue. Quinn shrugged, holding on to it as he met Genesect downstairs.
"Blue?" Keldeo was awoken by the voice of the human that had helped him earlier in the day. He stood up slowly and stretched his legs approaching the edge of his stable as he saw the human and a large red machine like insect approach them. Keldeo was taken aback by the appearance of the red insect and was about to attack "Hey wait! He's a friend." Keldeo kept his stance up, but looked to Quinn inquisitively. Quinn held up his laptop between him and Genesect.
"Pokemon identified: Keldeo" Genesect said. Quinn watched Blue, or Keldeo rather, make noises in return. He sat down on the stool in the stable, letting the two talk.
"I am designated Genesect. Quinn has freed me from my entrapment. Please state your purpose and intent in this world." Genesect said, another instance of Keldeo talking. Genesect went quiet only its eyes flashing occasionally as if in confirmation.
"Understood." Genesect turned to Quinn "Keldeo states that he is from a world of only pokemon, fleeing from a pokemon identified as Kyurem. Keldeo had made allies in this world and has since fled, all allies in question possess a medallion allowing transformation into pokemon identified as Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion." Quinn looked to the cobalt and silver medallion not too far away from Keldeo's straw bed. So that was one of them.
"Can you ask Blue what the names of these allies of his are?" Quinn asked, noticing the cocked head of Genesect.
"Failure to identify: Blue." Genesect said.
"Oh...Blue is my nickname for Keldeo." Quinn said, still not noticing the annoyed look on Keldeo's face as he said that.
"Identification updated: Blue the Keldeo." Genesect said, also not noticing the even more annoyed look on Keldeo's face as it said that. Nevertheless the two continued talking "Three allies identified: Cody, Terrence, and Vera."
Cody heard Terry and Vera approach their usual hangout on the beach, but he did not turn around, he merely sat there at the edge of the water, looking out over the sea, hoping to see Keldeo return.
"Well, all done with my finals now. I actually feel pretty good about them now…" Terry said, rather proudly.
"We'll get our grades soon. Looks like Terry is gonna be passing this year." Vera also chimed in.
"That's great." Cody said, not turning around to face either of them, he had finished his finals the day before, even with the shock of losing Keldeo and the medallion.
"Still no sign of him, eh?" Terry asked, squatting beside Cody. Vera knelt beside Cody as well.
"No...I'm really worried now. What if he got attacked out there? We can't go out there and chase him. We can't walk on water like he could. We don't know where he went and…-!?" Cody was beginning to huddle in on himself, his breathing becoming more strained.
"Hey, Cody. Look at me." Vera had to nudge Cody to get him to look her way "He's going to come back, okay? He has to."
Cody tried his best to smile, nodding "I hope you're right." the smile faded and he looked back out over the ocean.
"No no no." Terry grabbed Cody and stood him up; Cody went stiff and stood up "We're not gonna sit here and let you mope and get your butt wet!"
"My...oh…" Cody had failed to notice that he had been sitting so close to the water, his pants were wet now.
"Vera and I need a ref for spar practice. We gotta be ready for when Keldeo comes back. So…" Terry hoisted Cody over his shoulder and walked back towards the mouth of the cave, sitting him down on a sun bathed rock.
"Uh, alright. Yeah." Cody nodded, watching Terry and Vera transform. Cody let out a long sigh, he still didn't have his medallion, and the three learned that there was no transforming without it. So Cody couldn't even take his mind off of Keldeo with sparring. He watched the two of them pull out their sacred swords, clashing with the energy swords. He watched Vera go for piercing strikes while Terry went for large broad strikes. The two of them were smiling and laughing as they did so.
And then his thoughts turned back to that night, when Keldeo attacked him in his sadness, stole the medallion and ran away. Cody sighed, his gaze turning back to the ocean. He shook his head though, dreading what Terry would do in that form if he caught him looking. He looked back at the two of them, swords clashing once again, the two had their heads very close together; another inch and they'd have been kissing. Cody rolled his eyes, looking back over at the ocean again. Mired in his own thoughts, it was until the beach shook that Cody whipped back around to the two. Vera had pinned Terry to the ground, a slight smile on the both of them as they brought their heads close again.
"Could you two take it to the cave?" Cody yelled at them, enough for the two of them to realize they were being watched and get off of each other "If you're gonna do that sorta thing." Cody sighed, watching them go back to regular sparring. Cody pulled out his phone. Looking at his empty contact list, except for Quinn. With nothing better to do, he dropped him a 'Hello'.
"Hey Cody, were you able to smooth things over with your friend?" Quinn asked.
"No...they still haven't come home...I'm really worried now." Cody answered quickly.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Quinn replied "I've been taking care of the horse! Even did some digging through my dad's old stuff, found something really cool…"
A loud thud, Terry was on top this time "Hey, that's pretty cool. Glad to hear things are going well for you. I'm just at the beach, hoping maybe he'll come back. I'm with my friends too."
"Well...tell your friends I said 'hey'!"
"Hey guys! Quinn says 'hey!'" Cody yelled at the two of them, Terry rolled off of Vera.
"I thought you said you dropped those jerk nerds?" Terry asked.
"Not this one. He's cool." Cody answered.
"Well, we say 'Hey' back!" Vera responded, going right back to sparring with Terry
"Terry and Vera say 'Hey' too!" Cody responded. There was a long pause before Quinn responded.
"Cody...can you take a call?"
"...Sure?" Cody replied, looking at his phone, waiting for the call to show up. Shortly after, Quinn was calling, and Cody picked it up.
"Hello?" Cody asked meekly.
"I found Keldeo." Quinn said excitedly.
"You…-?" Cody gasped, his phone nearly slipping through his grip into the sand "How do you know who that is?"
"He's recovering in my stable at my house. I found him passed out on the beach last night and brought him home. Genesect has been helping me translate everything."
"Who the heck is Genesect?" Cody balked, making Vera and Terry approach to listen to the phone call.
"That's a long story. But dude, he wants to see you!" Quinn said excitedly.
"He does…-!?" Cody smiled, noticing the confused looks on the other two's faces "Quinn has Keldeo!"
"What? Who? What!?" Terry stammered.
"Oh thank God." Vera sighed "Where are they?"
"Hey yeah! Where are you? We're all done with school and stuff so we can be there like...now!" Cody turned it on to the speaker phone.
"I live in Salem. Right by Devereux Beach." Quinn said.
The three of them sighed in collective relief "Wait a minute. You live in Salem?"
"Yeah? Where do you live?" Quinn asked.
"Provincetown." Cody said.
"No way! Small world. That's only a couple of hours from me!"
"Oh my God! Oh my God, this is great! We're gonna be getting ready to go now! It's getting late now. But we'll try and get there by tomorrow!" Cody smiled, saying goodbye to Quinn and hanging up the phone. Terry and Vera transformed back, excitedly getting ready to go reunite with Keldeo. It was doubly important to Cody, he was going to get a chance to be with Keldeo, and to meet his one other friend.
Quinn hung up the phone, heading back inside to the stable with Keldeo and Genesect "Blue, I got great news. I found Cody and the others. They'll be here tomorrow to get you!" Quinn still couldn't directly understand Keldeo, but the look on his face was enough to know he was excited.
Keldeo turned to Genesect and spoke "Blue wishes to express his elation to you." Genesect beeped.
Quinn nodded "Blue, they were so happy to know you were safe and wanted to see them. Especially Cody, I could hear it in his voice."
Keldeo beamed at that too, turning to Genesect again "Blue speaks highly of Cody as well. His first ally in his fight against Kyurem, fast and adaptable to the situation."
"Well...good for him." Quinn smiled, nodding "We'd all best get ready for tomorrow then. It'll be a big day! G'night, Blue!" With that, Keldeo returned to his straw bed in his stable, while Quinn and Genesect stepped outside into the chill of the summer night. Quinn was about to head back inside, fix up that old room, and see if he could find a way to have an easier way to communicate with Genesect. It was then he noticed Genesect was not following him inside. It was looking up above at the moon. Quinn approached Genesect.
"I have not seen the human world since my inception." Genesect said plainly. Quinn looked between the laptop and Genesect. Even if Genesect was a robot pokemon thing, it showed a sentimentality that was reserved for living things. The realization that this mystery was already resolved hit him. He had just begun to taste what his father did before his passing, and it was over already. The good mood faded, but he still needed to set things right.
"You've been locked up all that time." Quinn sighed, gaining Genesect's attention "If you want to just...explore. See what's around here. You should do that."
Genesect cocked its head "Error: You still require a translator for Blue."
"I'll figure something out. Besides, probably gonna be Cody and the other picking him up then leaving. Then it's back to a normal summer for me." Quinn shrugged "It'll give me time to look for jobs...or colleges...just like Auntie wanted…" Quinn inhaled slowly, shaking his head and looking to Genesect "Point is. My dad hurt you, a lot of creatures like you apparently. Let me start making it right. Even a little bit." Quinn smiled.
Genesect looked to Quinn, a long silence between the two of them before the translator picked up something again "You have my thanks, Quinn. Goodbye." Genesect transformed back into its hovering form, flying low to the ground and disappearing into the woods near them. Quinn waved goodbye, he wasn't really sure if Genesect was watching it, but it just felt right. The waving slowed down, and his arm fell limp at his side. He quietly made his way back inside, just as quickly as the mystery of pokemon came into his life. It was solved already, and he was going to have to go back to all the things he had hoped this event would avoid.
