Keldeo dreamed of when everything went wrong.
Over the next couple of days, Keldeo had trained with the swordsmen: Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion, all in the hopes of learning the Secret Sword technique that they spoke of. It would be the next best way to elevate his training and make him a more powerful swordsman. But despite their best attempts, the swords never came out. They attempted meditation, concentrating energy into his horn to release, but nothing worked. Their most recent attempt was putting him under duress, and what that meant this time around was all three of the swordsmen attacking Keldeo at once. They had hoped the stress would unlock something in him.
Keldeo grunted, narrowly avoiding the first attack Cobalion launched at him, a headbutt with his forehead plate shining like polished metal. Keldeo enveloped himself in water, bobbing and weaving through the spires of stone that Terrakion summoned. Keldeo slid beneath his legs, only to be greeted by Virizion, who's side horns shined with a vibrant green, aiming one side to slice at Keldeo. Keldeo managed to hop on Virizion's head, launching himself over her and spinning around to face the three swordsmen. He then charged at them, concentrating energy into his horn like the others had shown him, hoping he would conjure his Secret Sword in time to meet them and attack. But when nothing came, and he was greeted by the metal head of Cobalion, he was sent skidding across the fields. He tried to move, but his body collapsed on him with a groan, days of constantly fighting finally took its toll.
Cobalion sighed, the glow in his forehead fading "I suppose now is a good time to take a break." he walked towards Keldeo and knelt beside him. Terrakion and Virizion joined shortly behind.
"Did you feel anything different?" Virizion asked, frowning when Keldeo turned his head away.
"No...I didn't." Keldeo looked back to the three of them "I don't get it. I've been trying everything you guys said and it still isn't working...is there something wrong with me?"
"Hey, come on now. Don't talk like that, Keldeo!" Terrakion stomped his hoof "we've only just begun. None of us were able to use our Sacred Swords in the very beginning, yknow?" Cobalion and Virizion nodded in agreement.
Keldeo looked between the three of them "What did it take for you three to unlock your Sacred Swords then?"
The three swordsmen looked between each other. Terrakion chuckled "It just so happened, it was the day we met you."
Keldeo smiled wide; leave it to Terrakion to make him smile "Really!?"
Virizion nodded "Yes, we had only just begun to work together around the time. Looking for our next heroic deed…" Virizion smirked "When some hotshot Keldeo ambushed us on the side of the road, looking to pick a fight."
Keldeo averted his gaze with a smile "I had you on the ropes."
"You caught us by surprise." Cobalion quickly corrected "I believe you interrupted us just as Terrakion was about to tell Virizion something…-?"
"Oh right…" Terrakion leaned into Virizion with a knowing and loving smile "Remember what that was…-!?" Terrakion began only for Virizion to let him fall on his side with a thud.
"No, don't think I can…" Virizion huffed back "Never gonna happen, Terrakion."
"Anyways!" Cobalion interjected "You were able to get a few good hits on us. With our inexperience, we thought we were genuinely under attack. And that...awoke something in us."
"It's why we thought attacking you would help you. But it seems you need a different trigger." Virizion added
"Trigger? Like what?" Keldeo added.
"It's difficult to say…" Cobalion lingered.
"Save someone in their time of need? Save someone who doesn't have the strength to do it themselves? Protect others in a crisis..." Terrakion muttered aloud with a shrug "Could be anything."
"We'll keep working towards it, Keldeo. Pretty soon you'll be a hero to this world. Just like we are." Virizion smiled. Keldeo looked between the three of them and smiled. He knew with all of them working together, they would be able to figure it out.
That was then the four of them felt the strong cold wind blow through the valley where they had been training. Odd, considering the sky was clear and the sun was high in the sky, it had been perfect weather before. It grew stranger still when snow began to appear from behind them. The four turned around, surprised to see Kyurem touching down a few feet away from them.
"Kyurem?" Keldeo whispered, looking to the other three for their reaction. They didn't look at Keldeo, only each other.
"He's already summoned a blizzard…" Virizion muttered.
"Then that means he's here to fight." Terrakion growled.
"Let us see if we can't avoid that…" Cobalion and the others stepped forward. Keldeo kept behind them, wanting to watch and listen.
"Swordsmen." Kyurem spoke, his voice flat but demanding "I had been waiting for you in Paradise, you did not heed my summons…" the blizzard began to pick up slightly.
"We had been busy training Keldeo." Cobalion took charge talking "We did not realize there was an urgent matter. What can we do to help?"
"It doesn't matter. I am here now…" Kyurem seemed to take delight in saying that. Why? Kyurem was always formal when he spoke, but this formal?
"So we see…" Terrakion spoke, not a trace of humor in his voice, if anything, he was on edge. A chill ran through the air, even Cobalion shuddered slightly.
"Yes." Kyurem hissed "I have tried to acclimate myself into society amongst the others. But they still resent me for what I have done. No matter what I do." Kyurem looked down upon the swordsmen, his voice dripping with resentment now.
"These things take time. Kyurem. Minds and hearts can't be changed so quickly." Virizion offered.
"I would disagree…" Kyurem took a step forward, his laugh sounding like cracking ice "It took me no time at all to change…-!" it was clear Kyurem was about to attack, and that's why Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion summoned their swords and pointed them at Kyurem.
"I don't know what's gotten into you, Kyurem. But you've been making good progress towards redemption. Don't squander that now!" Virizion pleaded.
"What's gotten into me…" Kyurem laughed, the blizzard around them growing stronger than ever before now "Maybe this has always been me. Maybe you all hoped I was different. But no, if all they will ever see me for is a monster...why should I bother being anything else?"
"That's enough!" To everyone's surprise, Keldeo leapt over the other swordsmen and attempted to attack Kyurem, hoping this would be enough of a trigger to activate his Secret Sword. But the headbutt that sent him flying across the valley was enough to let Keldeo know it wasn't.
"And my point is proven…" Kyurem muttered, head twitching to the other swordsmen "You three have at least given me a chance. So I warn you now. Do not stand against me, or I will shatter you to pieces…" with that, Kyurem began flapping his wings, launching himself into the air, a strong gust of wind sending the other swordsmen skidding backwards. The blizzard stayed however, growing strong and stronger.
"What's wrong with him!?" Terrakion turned to the other two.
"I don't know. It's as if his darkest thoughts have taken a hold of him…" Virizion shuddered, the cold especially effective against her.
"Or maybe this is just how he's always been…" Cobalion muttered, making the others look at him, the look on their faces told him they didn't want to agree, but that there was no other good explanation.
"Hey!" Keldeo came running towards them, eyes squinting in the blizzard growing stronger.
"Keldeo. I need you to go to Paradise, make sure everyone is safe." Cobalion spoke with that commanding tone.
Keldeo nodded "Then what?"
"Stay there." Cobalion nodded.
"What? No! I'm coming with you." Keldeo slammed his hoof down.
"Normally I'd say yes. But Keldeo, this is too big for you." Terrakion interjected, surprising even Keldeo.
"But...but you need me there." Keldeo offered weakly, not even really convincing himself "Why won't you let me join you guys!?"
"Because you're not strong enough!" this time Virizion spoke, a stern look on her face as she looked at Keldeo. Something about it coming from her made it cut especially deep.
"Virizion…" Cobalion stepped forward, but Virizion nodded, looking back at Keldeo, who held his face low. She brought herself low to look at him.
"Keldeo, if you could use your Secret Sword, I'd be inclined to let you join us. But you still can't use it. And I don't want him to hurt you." She stood back up "Please, listen to us. Your place is at Paradise, making sure they're safe first. That's what it means to be a swordsman…" Virizion had to hide the smile when she used that line, it usually made Keldeo agree.
"Okay...okay…I'll head back to Paradise." Keldeo nodded, the three nodded in return, turning and running off to face Kyurem. Keldeo ran shortly behind, intending to take the turn into Paradise while they ran off to Glacier Palace.
"I'll make sure Paradise is safe…" Keldeo whispered "But then...I'm coming with you guys." Keldeo picked up his pace. Thinking this would be the chance he needed. To prove himself a swordsman, and to unlock his Secret Sword.
Keldeo was relieved to find the barn door unlocked when he woke up that morning. It meant he was free to move around, but he ultimately knew he had to stay put, according to the human he had met, Quinn, Cody and the others would be there soon, they would take him back, and they could all work together towards bringing Cobalion and the others back. Keldeo found Quinn sitting on the porch, staring out into the middle distance. Keldeo slowly made his way towards Quinn, sitting down beside him; he was still sore from days of fighting without rest, so he didn't mind taking it slow for now.
"Morning, Blue." Quinn said quickly. Keldeo rolled his eyes, he wished he had told Genesect to tell Quinn not to call him that. But when Keldeo saw the lack of Genesect in the area, and the solemn look on Quinn's face, he pierced together what had happened "I just got off the phone with Cody, they got into Salem not too long ago, so they should be here any minute now." Quinn smiled weakly "They'll pick you up. And then…" Quinn muttered that last part under his breath, so Keldeo couldn't quite make it out. The arrival of a car in the driveway distracted Keldeo though, eyes lighting up as he could make out Cody inside, Terrence next to him, holding a circle of some sort. It wasn't until the car stopped that he saw Vera step out from the back.
"Oh my God, man…" Cody jumped out of the car, glaring at Terrence as he slowly stepped out "Why did you pick now to say you don't have your license?"
"Because I knew you'd freak out like that." Terrence shrugged "Besides, I have my learner's permit, that counts, right?"
"No, it really doesn't." Vera spoke plainly, trying her best to regulate her breathing. Eventually the three turned their attention to the front porch, eyes resting on Quinn and Keldeo. There was a moment's pause before Cody ran forward, Keldeo following short behind as Cody slid on the ground, embracing Keldeo as they made contact.
"Oh my God…" Cody sighed "We were so worried about you." Cody pulled away with a smile, excited to see a smile on Keldeo's muzzle in return. Cody's attention turned to the chubby human that approached him. Cody stood up, Keldeo moving towards Terrence and Vera to greet them "And, Quinn...I didn't think you of all people would be helping us." Cody chuckled, looking him over "You're uh...bigger than I expected."
Quinn snorted with a grin and a shrug "That just means there's more of me to love."
Cody chuckled, looking Quinn up and down one more time "No arguments there…" Cody looked back at the house, a large one story ranch with a barn right next door "Are your parents…-?"
Quinn shook his head, not bothering to correct Cody "They're on vacation in Texas. We got the house to ourselves…" Quinn looked towards the others by the car, watching them react to Keldeo's battle out on the ocean "Hey, you guys hungry? We can have breakfast and chat?"
"That sounds great…" Vera smiled, sitting up and walking inside.
"We didn't get a chance to eat...Cody insisted we head out first thing in the morning." Terrence grumbled, getting into the car real quick and grabbing a white box with a bakery's logo. Quinn wasn't familiar with it, but Keldeo's response to it made him assume it was good.
The five of them slowly made their way inside. Quinn wasn't much of a cook, but French toast was something simple he could make for everyone. He watched Cody open the box and reveal a blueberry muffin, something Keldeo ate eagerly. Quinn was even surprised to find other muffins for the rest of them, they had one for him.
"So...how do you know Cody again?" Vera had asked, taking small bites out of her breakfast. Terrence was midway through devouring his own.
"I know Cody from the group chat for the online game…-?" Quinn began
"Oh Cody told us all about those jerks." Terrence spoke with food in his mouth. Quinn felt his phone go off in his pocket, fishing out and grimacing as he looked at his phone.
"Speaking of…" Quinn muttered, showing his screen to the others; a message from the group chat about Quinn's lack of playing. He had been so busy with working or helping Keldeo he had no time to play. The look on Cody's face was enough for him to know what to do, but at the same time, as much as he wanted to just be done with them, today was going to end soon, Cody and the others would go home, and his exciting summer was going to end so quickly. He merely put his phone back in his pocket with a sigh.
"So Quinn…" Vera asked "What do you do for a living?"
"Clerk at a grocery store." Quinn shrugged "I'm also a paranormal chaser for fun, so finding Blue was the highlight of my time doing that…" Quinn noticed the confused expression on all of them. He failed to notice the still annoyed look on Keldeo's face.
"Blue?" Cody asked.
"That's his nickname for me...and I hate it so much…" Keldeo groaned, earning a chuckle from Cody.
"I think it's nice." Cody smiled, noticing the look on Quinn's face.
"It's kinda cute how you talk to him like that." Quinn chuckled, picking up the plates and putting them in the sink.
"Oh...we can understand him." Vera said, taking her own plate to the sink, also showing Quinn the medallion "These let us communicate with Keldeo, other pokemon even."
Quinn leaned in to inspect the medallion closer, nodding "Incredible. It's just like the one I found Blue with on the beach." he noticed Cody light up at that comment. When he noticed Terrence was also wearing a medallion, he deduced that the last one was meant for Cody "I'm gonna grab my laptop and write this all down…" Quinn quickly made his way deeper into the house, to grab his laptop. Take notes on what he had learned, and get some tabs open to start looking for colleges when this was all done.
"That reminds me…" Cody had finished eating breakfast when he turned to Keldeo "So what happened, Keldeo...why did you storm off like that?"
Keldeo sighed, bringing his head down as he swallowed down the last of his muffin "I'm so sorry for making you all worry like that. I just...so wanted to believe that Cobalion and the others were in there, and that they were still there when you wore those." Keldeo looked back to Cody "But they aren't coming back, not like that."
Cody sighed in relief "That's good to hear, Keldeo...I-!?"
"All we have to do is find a way to get them out of the medallions, then we can all take down Kyurem together! And then you get to meet them. Oh man, you'd all love them so much" Keldeo perked up, proceeding to ramble about the Swordsmen, failing to acknowledge the concerned look on Cody, Terrence and Vera's face. Quinn already had his laptop open when he noticed the awkward silence amongst the four of them.
"...Keldeo," Vera said, slowly and carefully "We've been trying to find the best way to tell you this but...they're gone." Vera flinched to the immediate change of expression on Keldeo's face.
"What...what are you saying?" Keldeo asked, the anger and hurt in his tone made everyone tense.
"That Hydreigon guy kept saying how you needed to heal...like outside and inside." Terrence crossed his arms "I think you know, dude."
"No...no…" Keldeo shrunk in on himself, backing away from the three of them, Quinn having to get out of the way to not bump into Keldeo.
"Keldeo?" Cody stood up, carefully walking towards Keldeo and kneeling down in front of him "You're afraid to admit it. I get it, but…" Cody inhaled "Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion...they're dead." a collection of gasps went through the room "But it's okay. We…-?"
"Stop!" Keldeo barked, making everyone go quiet "Just...stop." Keldeo couldn't look at Cody, at any of them "You don't know what you're talking about! They're still alive...they're just...in the medallions." Keldeo spoke, no confidence in his voice.
"So you did put them in there…" Vera stood up "How did you do that?"
"I don't know…" Keldeo took a step back, the ringing in his ears returning, his vision blurring.
"Guys?" Quinn said meekly.
"Okay then...Why did you put them in there?" Cody asked, staying low to the ground.
"They...they were fighting Kyurem...they weren't winning...they were going to d…-!" Keldeo snapped at Cody "You set me up!"
"No one set you up, man!" Terrence shot up from his chair.
"Guys…" Quinn said again, noticing the strange static coming from his computer again, growing louder and louder.
"Shut up!" Keldeo looked at all of them "All of you shut up! They're not gone! They're not dead! They're still here! They have to be!" Keldeo spoke furiously, eyes growing red with the beginning of tears "And...and if you're not going to help me...I'm gonna do this by myself!" Keldeo turned around, storming off back outside and towards the barn.
"What the hell, man!" Terrence yelled back, growling as he paced the room now, punching the wall too. Cody just sat there on the floor in stunned silence.
"He's in denial…" Vera said, walking forward "He's been in denial all this time…" Vera sighed.
"Guys!" Quinn said loud enough for everyone to notice. He turned his laptop screen towards them as a voice came from within.
"Anomaly detected! Anomaly detected!" Quinn's computer sounded off, a part of him was excited to recognize Genesect's unique voice again, but if he was coming back, warning of a new threat. Quinn dreaded what that meant.
"What does that mean?" Terrence turned to Quinn.
"I think it means something worse than a pokemon is coming…" Quinn muttered, closing his laptop.
Cody finally stood up, rubbing his eyes "We need to stop Keldeo from leaving." Cody quickly went outside too. The others joined shortly behind. Cody was already turning into the barn when Quinn, Terrence and Vera stopped at the sight of a red insect like creature approaching Quinn quickly. Quinn stepped forward eager to greet Genesect. Then he froze, biting down a scream as he suddenly saw a brown ox like creature and a green deer like creature jump from behind him where Terrence and Vera used to be "He's with me! He's with me!" Quinn had to run ahead of the two of them, difficult at his weight. The two looked at Quinn in disbelief, but when they heard shouting from the barn, they focused on that instead. Quinn opened his laptop quickly, opening up his translator for Genesect.
"Greetings, Quinn." Genesect said "Pokemon identified as Terrakion and Virizion are in the vicinity." Quinn looked back at the two that were moving towards the barn. Genesect had mentioned this yesterday, meaning Cody was the one that could turn into the last one, Cobalion.
"You came back…" Quinn couldn't help but smile, Genesect merely nodded.
"Anomaly detected within your vicinity." Genesect began "Wished to ensure your safety."
The good feeling of Genesect's return and concern faded quickly "What did you mean 'Anomaly detected'?" Quinn asked.
"Anomaly from another world has been detected. Last known presence in this world: Ten years ago." Quinn's heart skipped a beat, something else from ten years ago.
"Is it connected to what happened to the P.C.S building?" Quinn asked.
"Probability of connection of P.C.S West Coast building: 95%" Genesect responded "Safeties disabled. Combat mode engaged. Please insert a drive into techno blaster." Genesect said.
"Drive?" Quinn asked, realization struck him when he remembered the box of multicolored drives that he found with Genesect "Oh! I'll be right back!" Quinn panted as he tried his best to run back into his house, noticing a strong, cold wind was beginning to pick up.
"Keldeo!" Cody had followed him inside the barn, but Keldeo didn't even turn to talk to him. He turned into a stable and uncovered the cobalt medallion from beneath his straw bed and grabbed it in his teeth "Where are you going?"
"Away from you!" Keldeo snapped back "You're going to hurt me like that, and then pretend you care?" Keldeo shook his head, brushing past Cody. He tried to move in, but some swift hooves to the gut was enough to keep Cody away and on the ground, rolling in pain. He was about to run out of the barn when a fully transformed Terrence and Vera blocked his way out. A quick look made Keldeo growl, the medallions weren't on them in this form, he couldn't snag them then escape.
"That's enough!" Terrence growled, stomping his hoof, making the earth shake. Keldeo quickly regained his footing, staring down the two of them.
"Keldeo, do you think this is what they wanted?" Vera asked, his gaze growing firmer "Running off without saying anything? Attacking others." It was about this time Cody was able to get on his knees, gasping and coughing for air as he clutched his gut.
Keldeo snorted "What do you know about them? You don't know anything about them! They knew what it meant to be heroes! And you three? You're just a bunch of selfish humans!"
"...Keldeo?" Cody rasped, loud enough for Keldeo to whip around and face him.
"You...you only helped because you didn't want to think about what would happen if I got caught!" Keldeo then turned to the other two, cold wind making his mane blow wildly "And you, you're only helping because Cody's helping you and you feel like you owe him! And do you even know why you're even doing this, Vera!?" Keldeo yelled.
"Don't talk to her like that!" Terrence snapped back, Vera took a step back, clearly hurt.
"And why are you doing this?" Vera asked Keldeo, less in anger and more in genuine curiosity. It was enough to make Keldeo blink, open and close his mouth as he was at a loss for words.
"This...this isn't about me! This is about all of you!" Keldeo stammered, the wind howling now "None of you care! None of you ever cared about me! You were only ever doing this for yourself!". The argument stopped outright when they all noticed snow and ice beginning to form around them.
"Swordsmen!" they all recognized Kyurem's voice by now, turning to face the outside and whatever threat Kyurem sent next. They may have been fighting before, but Kyurem was the much clearer, present danger.
Cody watched Keldeo, Terrence and Vera head outside of the barn ready to fight alongside a strange red metallic looking insect creature; he saw Quinn talking to it before, so it had to be an ally. He tried to stand up and move, but he was still reeling from the kick, besides, what was he going to do without his medallion against Kyurem?
"You picked a bad time to do this, Frosty!" Terrence growled, looking up at the darkened clouds that began to swirl around them. Terrence and Vera already summoned their Sacred Swords, ready to fight whatever he threw at them.
"On the contrary, swordsman." everyone watched in horror as a column of dark swirling clouds dropped from the sky onto them "My timing could not be better!" and the column of clouds enveloped Keldeo. Everyone could see Keldeo collapse into the ground from the force of the wind as it covered him completely. Terrence and Vera tried their best to break through, but the chill of the tornado was too strong, they couldn't get through it.
"Keldeo!"
Keldeo dreamed of how it all ended.
The three knights braced themselves for the harsh landing in the frozen terrain of the Glacial Palace. The first appeared to be a large green deer, hints of pink found across all its body, intense eyes locked on the storm ahead. The second was a large brown creature, two strong horns pointed downwards "What do you make of this, Virizion?" he asked. She turned to him.
"I'm not sure, Terrakion, getting here seemed too easy, perhaps the enemy wants us to face it," Virizion said, a feminine voice stern yet soft. They turned sharply to see a solemn expression on the third knight's face, this blue deer with black and white accents looked ahead as well, the gray darkness in the air made it clear, this was something he, nor his comrades had never seen before.
"Cobalion?" Virizion asked with concern clear in her light voice. Cobalion sighed before he faced Virizion and Terrakion.
"My comrades, my friends, I stand before you here on this day to say we will not fail. Many have come before and say we will fall; that we will die at the fiendish claws of our enemies. What can we do against such hateful words? We will bring the words of our doubters to the graves of our enemy today. Come, fly with me; fly with me so that we may slay this monster that has terrorized and slaughtered our friends and family. Not in the name of honor and glory, but in the name of all who wish to see the next morning sun!" a high pitched screech cut through his speech.
"Kyurem!" Virizion spoke "He is aware of our presence."
"Then we had better not keep him waiting," Terrakion added, pumped for a fight. Virizion and Cobalion nodded in agreement.
"Yes! The horn of victory shall sound throughout our hearts this day, one last time! Let this be the day that we fly out, together! Let their hatred fall! Come, now for freedom, now for justice, now for all!" Virizion, Terrakion and Cobalion prepared to jump into the air, ready to face the monster before them.
"Wait!" a fourth voice stopped them before they could attack. Another four legged creature, this one appeared to have the horn of a unicorn, with a long orange mane and a blue body.
"Keldeo!? You shouldn't be here. It is dangerous. What about Paradise!?" Cobalion said, still looking ahead, lest the monster attack while they spoke.
"Paradise is safe, I made sure of it, but…" Keldeo swallowed, fear holding him in place now "You've been training me, preparing to fight. I need to be a part of this too!"
"Keldeo…" Virizion's calm voice cut through the fear in Keldeo's heart "We trained you to be a Swordsmen of Justice, yes. But that takes many roles, this is not the role you will take in this fight."
"...Yes, Virizion…" Keldeo looked down, he could never talk back when he spoke to him like this. Soothing but firm.
"We can get right back to training once this crisis is over, Keldeo." Terrakion added "You just sit tight and take notes while you're here."
"Yes Terrakion!" Keldeo couldn't but smile when Terrakion spoke like that.
"No more deliberation. We must attack!" Cobalion said.
"Yes, let us end this!" Virizion said.
"This isn't where our story ends!" Terrakion said, the three of them jumping into the fray. Keldeo tried his best to stay put, to let them fight. But he couldn't just sit by and do nothing, he had to be a part of this, and so he leapt off after them.
"Keldeo." a soothing voice entered Keldeo's mind. He ringing sound pierced his mind, and suddenly he was no longer jumping up Glacial Palace to meet the others, he was in a black void, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion were standing in a spotlight, waiting for him.
"...Where's Kyurem?" Keldeo asked, stepping forward, approaching the three of them.
"That is not important Keldeo," Virizion smiled, stepping forward.
"What is important is that we are here, Keldeo." Terrakion responded, slowly and smoothly.
"We never left you, Keldeo, we have always been here." Cobalion was smiling as well, something he did rarely.
Keldeo stopped, he tried to remember what he was doing before he was in here with the others, but he just couldn't remember. It probably wasn't worth remembering then.
"You've fought so hard to get where you are, Keldeo. And we are so proud of you." Cobalion stepped forward, enveloping the still shocked Keldeo in an embrace.
"You're almost done fighting. You've already figured out what is left to be done." Virizion smiled, moving in to embrace Keldeo as well.
"I did?" Keldeo asked weakly.
"Yes." Terrakion replied "Take the amulets away from the humans and return them to Kyurem. He will set us free. He will set us all free. And then we can be together again." Terrakion also moved in, embracing Keldeo. All of the swordsmen held Keldeo close.
"Together...again…-?" Keldeo repeated smiling weakly, the weight and warmth of their embrace getting to him. This is what he wanted, this is what he always wanted. The Swordsmen back together. All this fighting, all this fear and sorrow, it was about to go away, he was going to get exactly what he wanted.
And all he had to do was kill the others.
With that thought, he began to weep in joy, sinking deeper and deeper into a darkness that suffocated him, but it was okay, because he was with his friends. He didn't need anyone, or anything else.
