First Day

The pacific ocean was beautiful as Mako flew over it, the teen darted over the water with waves parting behind him from his speed, "WHOOOOHOOOO!" he yelled out excitedly as he flew towards I-Island in the distance. The half human took off upwards as he approached the manmade Isle, zooming through the air he saw the island's school come into view before swooping down to the level Melissa's lab was on. Slowing on his approach, he stopped just outside the window of her lab and tapped on the glass excitedly, making sure that he didn't accidently break it with his strength.

A moment later, the blonde support student arrived at the window and smiled at him before sliding the window open, "Mako! That was fast." she said as she looked down at her watch. She had called him to tell him his suit was finally done half an hour ago, she didn't expect him here for at lest another hour. Stepping aside, Mako slipped into her workshop by flying through and then landing on the ground.

"Yeah I think I almost broke the sound barrier coming here so fast." he said, a little out of breath, "And just in time too, first day of school is tomorrow for me." he said in relief, making her eyes widen behind her glasses.

"Oh I'm sorry! If I had known-" she began before he waved it off, the blonde girl smiled at his caviler attitude. Her dad had told her that some heroes could be, for lack of a better word, divas, about their support item and costume requisitions. Her hands clasped together in front of her, "Alright, moment of truth!" she declared as she walked over to her work bench were a suitcase was. Grabbing the case she returnd to Mako and propped it up in the crook of her arm while her free hand opened it. Looking inside, Mako stared at the costume.

No, HIS costume.

Reaching inside, he clutched the mask and pulled it out, the lenses of the head sock mask that covered all but his nose, mouth, ears, and hairline. "Wow…" he said to himself in a small voice, making Melissa smile. He looked up from the case to her eyes, "Can I try it on?" he asked excitedly. Melissa nodded and handed him the case, Mako nearly fumbling with it as he walked over to the closet she had to change into it.

The blonde smiled to herself as she crossed her arms over herself, she gave this costume design her all, it was durable like Omni Man's so it shouldn't be hard to be torn up when he moves. A few seconds later, the closet opened and Melissa was able to admire her work fully with the person who she intedened it for filling it out.

The costume was primarily black on the back, legs, and arms, around the shoulders was a deep blue circle around the shoulders that tapered off into points midway across them, the bulk of the blue was over his upper neck and pper pectorals with matching knee high boots on his feet. The blue in the chest was interrupted in the middle with a thick yellow square in the middle with the top curved inwards, it reached down his chest to his abdomen where the other end tapered off into a point. He wore a matching pair of fingerless gloves that went up to his forearms.

His head was covered with the same mask he held, the bottom of it circling around his shoulders and the back of his neck, making a 'i' shape on the front of his costume. "This….this is perfect!" he exclaimed excitedly as he pulled his mask off to smile brightly at Melissa.

The blonde girl smiled, "I'm glad you think so! I actually had this other design for the kneepads that exposed the sides on the interior, but after thinking about it I thought that'd look kinda-WOAH!" she yelped as Mako wrapped her up in a hug and lifted her up.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" he excitedly chanted before putting her down, the girl's face a shade darker from the heat on her face. Noticing her reaction, he immediately recoiled, "Oh god I'm sorry I just-that wasn't cool of me, I'm sorry I got too excited-"

"No it's fine! I get it, I mean-" Melissa started as he began to apologize, the two stopping each other with their own interruption. They both let out a nervous chuckle at their own verbal tripping. "It's fine, you've been waiting for this for…..well a long time." she said as he stepped back and sat on her workbench. She suspected that what Mako went through, being told he would eventually have powers for years, was harder than he first indicated. And they seemed to be confirmed when he looked down at the ground.

"When I was kid, after my dad told me about me getting powers? I'd get up every morning and try and fly." he said with an amused smile that vanished into a bittersweet one. "My dad just told me to be patient, that it'll eventually happen but….when almost everyone around you can do something you can't? 'Eventually' feels like….forever." he said, thinking about how isolated he was growing up. He was friendly and people seemed to like him, but Izuku was his only friend due in no small part to not having any powers as well.

He looked up and saw Melissa looking at him sympathetically, "Believe me, I know that feeling." she said as she approached the bench as well, Mako scooting over to make room for her as she hopped up onto it as well. "When I was younger I felt like….well, more like I didn't belong anywhere." she explained, "People were nice to me and didn't really treat me much differently in America, but I still felt left out." she explained.

"People were nice to you?" Mako asked.

Melissa blinked and looked over at him, "Yeah of course, I mean it wasn't something I could help-wait….were you bullied because you didn't have a quirk?!" she asked with abhorrently. In America there was a zero tolerance policy for bullying, it was the same with the school here on I-Island. So she assumed it was the same for most school systems in the world.

Mako suddenly rubbed the back of his head, "I mean they didn't beat me up or anything, well one guy did but he's a jerk to everyone." he quickly explained. "Ok I guess the best answer is…..I have this friend, his name is Izuku. Best friend in the world, he's-or well we thought he was, qurikless. When my powers finally developed, everyone in my class at school wanted to hang out." he began. Melissa nodding in understanding so far, "But when I asked if Izuku could come hang out? No one wanted him to." he explained.

Melissa's teal eyes widened in astonishment, "That's awful!"

"Right?!" Mako asked as he threw his hands up in the air, "I mean I'm not crazy, that's wrong." he asked, Melissa shaking her head. "Yeah so, that was life for a while but I still had my powers to hope for. Izuku though…..he only found out a couple weeks ago, he went through all of Middle school without that and the guy still gave it his all." he said with a small smile. He looked over at Melissa who was smiling fondly, "You kind of remind me of him, your both set on your goals." he said as he looked down at his costume.

The blonde girl smiled at the compliment, "Thanks Mako, that's sweet." she praised before a saddened look crossed her face, "I'm sorry you two had to deal with that for so long."

Mako shrugged, "It's alright, I mean we showed them. We got into U.A." he said with a grin. Melissa chuckled at his reasoning but didn't argue with it, "So when we talked last, you mentioned me testing something out?" he asked.

Melissa jolted as she recalled it as well, "Oh yeah! One sec." she said, sliding off the table and walking over to her smaller desk against the wall. Picking up a thin chainmail looking material, she walked over to Mako and presented it to him. "I just want you to tear this if you can. So I can test the tensile strength." she explained.

Mako looked at the red fabric with a curious eye before taking ahold of it and trying to pull it apart, his skepticism vanished and was replaced with surprise when the stiff fabric didn't immediately tear under his strain. Putting some actual muscle into it, it still didn't tear apart, "Holy-what is this stuff?" he asked as Melissa watched with pride as the fabric didn't tear apart.

"It's a super durable material I'm working on, I actually got the idea from working on your costume." Melissa explained as he handed the material back to her, "I was thinking that I could make some support items based on materials that could be deployed. I have proof of concept in the works with a pogo stick." she explained, Mako giving her an amazed expression.

"That's super cool, so it'd be like armor then?" he asked with interest.

Melissa pursed her lips together, "Not exactly, say that there was a building collapsing and you needed to brace the supports with something." she said before holding up the material, "I'm working on making this a smart material so this could wrap around the supports after being deployed and be strong enough to hold them in place." she demonstrated more clearly.

"Woah…" Mako said in awe, "Melissa that's amazing…..is there any other way I can help?" he asked.

The blonde support student was taken aback slightly by his interest, "Well, if you can get me some information on how strong you are? Like exact numbers? That could help." she offered kindly before looking down at the material, "But this is mainly something I can just do on my own. Thank you though." she replied.

"Hey, you made me my superhero costume, what was I gonna do? Not offer?" Mako asked as he retreated back into the closet to change, Melissa smiling fondly as he closed the door behind him.

Despite how much Mako wanted to show Izuku his costume, he did have to formally submit it to U.A. so that they could get Melissa's information on how it was made as well as storing it with the other costumes that the students of the hero course had made for them. And within a few days later, he was ready to attend his first day of class…if he could just get out the door. "Mom if I'm late on my first day I swear-" he began as the flash of her phone's camera went off. Behind her, Nolan was chuckling in amusement as his son was subjected to his mom's photo op.

"Well you're gonna need to get used to people taking pictures of you son." he justified in amusement as Mako sent him a look which Kali captured on her phone.

The U.A. uniform was different from the one he had in middle school, it had a pair of dark green dress pants with a light grey dress coat that had matching green stripes on the lapels and shoulders, with a white dress shirt underneath with a red tie around his neck. Personally Mako liked it much better than his boring black school uniform, and his mom did too evidently. "Oh come on hon, just a few more." she insisted as he made his way to the elevator of their penthouse.

"I'm leaving! Bye!" he said, waving as the elevator doors slid shut.

"Get me one of Izuku!" Kali called out after him before turning to Nolan, beaming at him happily which he returned. "He's off." she said proudly.

"Yes he is." Nolan replied, looking to the elevator, the Viltrimite wore his costume to see his son off. Looking out the window to the deck he saw his son take off through the sky to meet up with his friend. "I still can't believe Izuku got in, or that he has a quirk." he admitted as Kali walked to the kitchen counter to grab her briefcase.

"I still have a hard time believing Mako has his powers finally." she admitted, Nolan turning to her in surprise.

"Really? I've told him about it for years." he replied curiously.

Kali gave him a shrug, "Right but it's not like you knew 100% that he would get them, there was always a chance he wouldn't." she reasoned before walking over to get her coat off the rack near the elevator.

Nolan pursed his lips together, "I mean…..Mako always knew though." Kali gave him a look, "Didn't he?" he asked.

She sighed, "Honey, he just got his powers almost a year ago. And before that? He had over a decade of not having any. Surrounded by people who did-"

"But not like me." Nolan suddenly interrupted, Kali raised an eye at the sudden outcry. Nolan recoiled himself, "I-I'm sorry I just…..I thought my word was enough." he explained. "I always believed that Mako understood that but…"

His wife walked over and took his hand in her own, "He understood that he was alien and human, and after so long? I think he thought the human side won over more then the viltrumite." she reasoned as her other hand cupped his somewhat concerned face. "But I don't think he's ever doubted you Nolan, he loves you, he respects you." she eased, making his features soften. She leaned in and kissed him, his mustache tickling her lips as she pulled away and smiled, "I got to run to the office, there's a possible parole for a villain coming up and I need to see what we know about them." she explained as she walked towards the elevator.

As she left, Nolan smiled at her, but as soon as the doors closed he frowned in worry. Has he always felt more like them? he asked himself.

"I think this is the right floor." Mako said as he and Izuku walked up to the third floor of the building and walked down the hallway towards their assigned classroom. Both had luckily been assigned to Class 1-A for their first year in the hero course, which the pair were ecstatic about. Rounding the corner and walking along the wall of windows, the both stopped in front of a massive door with a blocky looking 'A' on the front of it. "Well that's….big."

"Well they need to accommodate students of all shapes and sizes." Izuku reasoned, Mako nodding in agreement at that assertion. "So….this is it." he said with a large smile that Mako and he shared.

Mako tilted to the door, "You do the honors man." he said, Izuku reached to the door and opened it."

And were met with a unfortunately familiar voice, "Please remove your feet from the desk! It's disrespectful to the people who worked hard to make them!"

"LIKE I CARE! WHAT MIDDLE SCHOOL ARE YOU EVEN FROM EXTRA?!"

Mako shut the door. "…..your sure yours said Class 1-A? Not…..anything else?" he asked, his lips pursed together in dissatisfaction.

Izuku's head lowered in dismay, "I stared at it for hours…yes I'm sure." he affirmed.

Mako smacked his lips before taking a deep breath, "Well…..look on the bright side. We're in this togeth-" Izuku started before Mako started walking away, "NO! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Izuku exclaimed, grabbing his friend's arm and dragging him back before opening the door again. This time the whole class took notice of the two's presence, a few murmurs of recognition, all aimed at Izuku.

The glasses wearing boy who had been reprimanding Bakugo stopped and looked up before marching over to the pair, "I am Tenya Iida from Shomen Academy. And Id like o apologize." he said directly at Izuku, Mako looking between them bizarrely. "Clearly you saw the hidden factor in the entrance exam, and I must admit you are superior to me int hat respect." he said, looking away in shame of himself.

Izuku immediately raised his hands up, "N-N-No! I um…I didn't know about the rescue points, or any of it." he admitted, Making Iida look at him in surprise.

"Yeah he was kind of convinced he failed getting in." Mako said, giving his friend a nudge who looked down flustered. He raised his hand to Iida, "I'm Mako Metuki, nice to meet you." he greeted. He recalled how the other student had called out Izuku's muttering during Present Mic's speech to all the students trying to get in.

Iida took his hand and shook it firmly, "It's nice to meet you Mako, I hope that we get along well in the semester to come." he greeted welcomingly to the other student.

"Oh hey! The plain looking boy!" Mako snorted when he heard that familiar voice, turning around he saw the same girl who asked him about Izuku's wellbeing after the entrance exam praising him. "Oh man that punch you did was amazing! You took down that big robot in one punch it was so cool!" she praised, Izuku's face turning absolute crimson as he tried to sputter out some sort of cohesive response.

Ah Izuku. Never change. he thought amusingly before glancing over at Bakugo, the two glared at one another briefly as he recalled their last meeting. He had dragged him and Izuku into an alley after the principal of the middle school congratulated the three of them getting into U.A. Something that seemed to bore into the blonde, shoving Izuku into a wall, he nearly grabbed Bakugo with the intent to throw him into the ocean. But instead something better happened, Izuku stood up to him. God I wish I had the look on his face from that on camera.

"If your just here to socialize then you should leave." the four students perked up at the voice and turned to the door, then looked down at the fllor to see a man in a yellow sleeping bag.

"….ok you guys see him too right?" Mako asked. Iida nodded, "Oh thank god." he breathed out as the man took a large sip of a juice box.

Standing up and slipping out of the bag, everyone saw the man wore a completely black outfit with the exception of the grey cloth wrapped around his neck in a bundle. "It took you a few seconds to quiet down, time is limited, and you all don't seem like a rational lot." he observed with a tired tone. The man looked dead tired, with his loung shoulder length hair and scratchy facial hair making him look even more tired if that was even possible.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, nice too meet you all." he said casually as he reached into his sleeping bag.

This…is a prank right? I'm on 'Punked' or some crap right? Mako thought hopefully before he pulled out a U.A. gym uniform.

"Change into your gym clothes and head out to the grounds." he instructed to the class.

…..aw crap.

The U.A. gym uniform was, honestly? Not that bad, it was very comfortable in Mako's opinion, he didn't fanboy out over it when Izuku saw one hanging in his locker for him. Going out to the exercise field, the students of Class 1-A were surprised to find that they would-

"We're doing a quirk assessment test?! Now!?" a number of students collectively exclaimed.

"But we just got here, don't we have to do an orientation or something first?" the brown haired girl who was complimenting Izuku asked.

Aizawa looked over at her, "While usually the case, it's also a massive waste of time for those who want to be heroes." he bluntly replied. "U.A. is known for it's 'freestyle' schooling system. It's part of the reason we have 21 students this year instead of the regular 20. That system applies to the teachers as well." he explained dot the class as they looked amongst themselves. "Back in middle school, you all preformed standard gym tests, but you weren't allowed to use your quirks. It's a flawed system just so they can average records more easily." he explained as he drew a baseball sized ball out of his pocket.

He turned his attention to Bakugo, "Bakugo, do you remember how far you could throw in middle school?" he asked.

The blonde student paused for a second as he recalled, "It was about….67 meters." he estimated.

Aizawa nodded to the chalk circle in the sand, "Try it with your quirk, just don't leave the circle." he instructed, tossing Bakugo the ball which he caught. The explosive user clutched it in his hand before shifting his stance into a pitcher's position, reeling his arm back he flung it forward.

"DIE!" he exclaimed before a explosion rocketed the ball through the air. Mako watched it land over near the end of the field, the class turned over to the teacher who had a device in his hand and showed it to everyone. Showing it was almost ten times the distance from when Bakugo was in middle school, hearing the chatter around him in excitement, Mako smirked to himself.

Man if they thought that's cool, I can't wait to show off what I can do. he thought in excitement.

"This is gonna be so much fun!"

"It'll be nice to actually be able to use our quirks for a change."

Aizawa however looked over his class with a critical eye, "Fun you say?" he asked, getting the entire class's attention. "You think being a hero will always be fun and games? Is that what you expect your three years here to be?" he asked. There was an uncomfortable silence, "Right. Then, the one with the lowest test score will be judged as useless, and will be expelled."

"WHAT?!" was the collective gasp

Mako shook his head in disbelief, "Hold on it's only the first day and you're gonna expel someone if they fail the first thing? How is that fair?" he asked critically.

Aizawa looked directly at him, Mako didn't waver with his gaze, "You're right, it's not fair. But as heroes, you'll deal with this sort of unfairness with natural disasters, traffic accidents, or even rampaging villains. It's a hero's job to correct that unfairness." he reasoned.

Mako blinked, "….so what? Life's unfair? I mean that's true and it sucks that it happens and all but…..your a person." he replied unsurely. Aizawa's gaze glowered at him, and everyone moved a little away from Mako.

The teacher seemed to take in his words, "And villains don't have rules of conduct that they play by." he reasoned back before walking away. "Now everyone go to one of the exercises. The sooner we get started the sooner we're done."

Mako looked over at Izuku, who was mid panic, with his quirk being brand new and him being not able to fully control it. Shit! Man I don't want him to be expelled! But I can't do anything. he thought in dismay.

Event 1: 50 Meter Dash

Mako glanced over at the girl with short black hair, and earphones dangling off her earlobes beside him before looking over to the teacher, "Um, Sensei?" he began, Aizawa looked up at him, "I know this is a fifty meter dash, but I can fly, am I allowed to do that or should I stay on the ground?" he asked curiously. Technically he could dash through the air but he didn't want to flat out cheat, the girl beside him looked him over with a slightly nervous look in her eye.

"Stay on the ground. This is about land based response speed." he said, Mako nodded and got into a running stance while the girl beside him let out a breath of relief.

Huh….weirdly enough I don't know if I've ever tried super speed with just running. he thought before the robot at the end of the 50 meters set off a loud chime.

Mako ran forward, and nearly tripped over himself '2.98 seconds!' the robot chimed out as Mako ran past it, the teen sliding to a halt. Blinking a few times, he looked over his shoulder to see the other girl cross the line as well, '5.89 seconds!' it recorded.

The short haired girl was out of breath when she caught up to him, Eh, flying is better. he thought to himself.

Event 2: Grip Strength

"Hey! You're the flying dude!" Mako looked up from the device in his hand and turned his head to see the familiar face of the boy he saved from the zero pointer during the exam, however instead of the straight black hair that he had, it was now red and spikey. "I saw you take a swing at the zero pointer during the exam, that was so manly dude!" he praised, Mako taken aback by the sudden praise as well as the student's new appearance. Noticing the other student's confused expression he suddenly realized why, "Oh! Yeah, I sorta changed my hair. My name is Enjiro Kirishima. Nice to meet you." he said offering a hand to shake.

Mako took it and smiled, "Mako Metuki, call me Mako. And it's nice to meet you." he greeted as well. "Glad you got in, and well…hope you don't get kicked out." he said, Kirishima swallowing nervously before looking down at his own grip strength measuring device in his hand. Mako watched as his entire arm became a more hardened and steel like substance before squeezing.

Kirishima smiled proudly at the number of 400kg, "Alright! What about you?" he asked. Mako looked down at his device and squeezed, Kirishima's jaw nearly dropped when he saw it read out as 90718.5kg (AN: 100 tons, yeah conversion is weird). "Holy crap that's amazing!" he spikey haired boy said in amazement before shifting into confusion, "Wait I thought you could fly?"

"Oh I can, I'm just strong too." Mako replied.

Kirishima grinned excitedly, "Oh that's cool! And that explains how you punched that big Zero Pointer." he realized.

Event 3: Standing Long Jump

Mako looked down at the white line ahead of him that stopped in front of a long trench of sand, shrugging to himself he took off in a run towards the white line and leapt off the ground, launching him over fifty feet into the air! "Huh. You know I can't remember the last time I just jumped." he said to himself out loud as he came back down to earth. Landing far down near the edge of the sand pit. The small boy with purple balls on his head looked slack jawed at what he witnessed.

He would later get his revenge with the side step challenge.

Event 5: Throwing Ball

Mako was interested to see what the brown haired girl could do considering she spoke so highly of Izuku, so when she went up to the circle and reeled her arm back, he wasn't sure what to expect. and then she threw the ball. And it kept going…..and going…and going…in fact it didn't seem to be losing speed at all, after a few minutes of their teacher looking down at his device he lifted it up and showed it to the class. The screen showing the symbol for infinity, Oh…..Ok….guess I'm not beating that. he thought as he glanced over to Izuku. His friend having slacked jaw at the impossible number to beat, he had been trying his hardest but in spite of that Izuku had been…..not doing well.

There was someone in each category that surpassed him, Mako feeling guilty because he was partially responsible for it. Seeing his friend's concerned gaze, Izuku straightened up and took a deep breath before walking over to the circle. Mako cast a glance at their teacher, God it's such bullshit that he's going to just expel someone who has the lowest score on the first day! he thought in frustration as he recalled all the teachers throughout his life who didn't pay him or Izuku much mind because they didn't have any powers.

Not that Aizawa seemed that sort of teacher, but it wasn't a realistic expectation when Izuku couldn't control his quirk fully. And he couldn't just argue with him! He was a teacher, if he got expelled on the first day forget whatever his dad might do, his mom would sue the place for every penny they had!

So he watched his friend walk up to the mound, "Midoriya isn't doing very well is he?" he turned to see Iida looking at him with concern.

On his other side he heard Bakugo click his teeth, "No shit four eyes, he's a quirkless runt!" he spat out.

Mako turned and glared at him, "I don't recall anyone asking you." he replied snarky, Bakugo turned to him with just as a vicious. Iida looked between them and could swear he saw sparks flying between them.

"Bakugo I believe you might be mistaken, Midoriya is the one who took down the zero pointer." he explained, Mako smirking when he saw what he could only describe as a shock pass over the explosive user.

"What?!" he hissed out.

Mako turned back to Midoriya as he reeled his arm back, for a brief second he swore he saw it glowing, before throwing it forward….and the ball going maybe fifty meters, Oh shit is it that bad? he thought worriedly. Izuku said that his quirk was apparently so powerful that using it at full power hurt his body, but Izuku looked as surprised as Mako was.

"But-but what happened I was trying to use it-" he began.

"I erased your quirk." the teacher said, his long hair now standing on end as Izuku looked over to him, "How the entrance exam let someone like you in just shows how irrational it is." he said as he approached Izuku. Mako's first instinct was to go over and stop whatever this was, but he quickly reminded himself that this was their teacher, it wasn't like he was going to hurt Izuku.

He couldn't hear what they were saying, unfortunately super hearing wasn't part of the Viltrumite package, but when he walked away from Izuku, his friend was visibly muttering to himself. "Huh, he must have told Izuku something to help him?"

"Yeah, probably to leave this school." Bakugo remarked.

Mako turned to him, "How about I kick YOU out of here myself and we don't let anyone else get expelled? Save us all the trouble?" he replied angerly.

Bakugo met him with a challenging grin, "You want to go dumbass?"

Mako was rolled his eyes and looked back to Izuku as he reeled his arm back once more, "Bakugo I swear to god one of these days I'm going to-" he began before a sudden shockwave passed over him from Izuku launching the ball hundreds of meters away, "-SHIT!" he exclaimed in surprise as he followed the distance of the baseball that Izuku had thrown.

He looked over to their teacher, and was both glad, and a little creeped out when he saw the grin spread across his face as he looked to Izuku. Following his gaze, he saw his friend holding his hand that he threw the ball with, but what immediately got his attention was the sound of popping to his right. "Whoohoo! Way to go!" he heard the girl cheer beside him encouragingly.

Looking over, he saw a look of absolute, pure, RAGE on Bakugo's face. Uh oh. Mako thought worriedly. Ok, it's cool, it's not like he's gonna just-

"DEKU!" Bakugo howled as he suddenly charged out onto the field, Izuku let out a fearful scream and Mako couldn't blame him. He took off and zoomed ahead of Bakugo, circling back so that he was between him and Izuku, "OUTTA MY WAY I WANNA KNOW HOW THAT SACK OF SHIT-" he began before a white tape like substance wrapped around his face and arms. "What the-! This cloth its….stiff!" he growled out.

"Quit behaving irrationally." the trio turned to Aizawa a few feet behind Bakugo, his hair once more standing up with his gaze leveled at Bakugo, the cloth around his student tracing back to the one around his neck. "This is a special capture weapon that uses carbon fibers a special alloy wire. Now quit using your quirk I'm getting dry eyes." he said, his bloodshot eyes seemingly glowing.

Woah…..that's what he meant by erase a quirk. he thought as he looked back to his friend, "You ok Izu-Holy crap your fingers!" he exclaimed upon seeing the broken digits. He subconsciously rubbed his own hand from the phantom pain he had, "Are you….all right?" he asked unsurely.

Izuku nervously laughed, "Yeah-I'm fine, and I can keep going too!" he said confidently. Mako looked him over, suddenly the broken legs and arm he was treated for made more sense, "Oh! Do you want to go next?" he offered.

"Buddy I'm a little more worried about the broken fingers." he said, pointing to them as Aizawa approached.

"Midoriya, fall back in line." he said, Izuku nodding before the teacher turned to Mako and tossed him another ball, "Your turn Mako." he replied.

The half viltrumite felt his jaw clench, as he looked over at Bakugo who was glaring daggers at Izuku, So that's it? Guy charges at my friend with the intent to fry him and you don't do anything?! God, I thought U.A. was supposed to be better. he thought as he looked down at the ball before looking at his teacher. "You said I wasn't allowed to leave the circle, do you mean out of it's bounds?" he asked, pointing down a the fair sized white circle on the ground.

Aizawa nodded, "Yes, as long as you stay within it's perimeter, you're good." he explained. Mako nodding in acknowledgement before bending his knees and suddenly taking off into the sky, high above the school!

Iida, Uraraka, and Bakugo's head's tilted back to follow him, Izuku smiled as he saw his best friend fly up as high as he did. He obviously knew about his powers beforehand, but seeing him use them like this made him excited. "Woah he can fly?!" the nice exclaimed excitedly.

Izuku turned to her with a equally excited grin, "Just wait!" he said in anticipation before he watched as Mako threw the ball, the small object soaring off into the distance.

Iida adjusted his glasses, "Sensei…does the sensor on that ball have a range?" he asked the teacher who was looking down at the device in his hand intently while Mako descended down, back so that he was hovering a little bit above the circle.

"No, these two are directly linked together, as long as it's on Earth it'll register the distance from where it's thrown." he replied as he watched the number on the device still rising. A solid minute passed before a boy with six arms formed a mouth on the end of one of them and spoke.

"Does anyone else hear that?" he asked. Everyone grew silent and then they heard it, a high pitched whistling, Izuku's head tilted in confusion before he suddenly realized what it was, just before the ball Mako threw flew twenty feet over his head and was caught by Mako!

The teen landed inside the circle and walked over to the students, his gaze however was on Bakugo who was staring at him in disbelief. Iida blinked a few times while the nice girl's jaw hung on the hinges, "A-Aizawa sensei…..what is that reading?" he asked.

Aizawa stared at the device, reading 40074274.94m.

"…..holy shit." Kirishima said in disbelief.

The rest of the exercises weren't as flashy as the Ball tossing exercise for Mako, but he could feel everyone looking at him. He had, undoubtedly come in second place for the Ball throw, and when the number 1 spot was infinity? That was hard to measure up to for any of the students, but honestly Mako didn't really care, he just was glad to see the look of frustration Bakugo had. But when it time to tally up scores, he was more focused on his best friend, he could see the visible look of dread he had from the knowledge of the results.

"Your total scores here shows your performance in all the events. To save time I'm going to show you all your final rankings." Aizawa said as he took a remote out of his pocket. Izuku swallowed beside Mako, "Also I was lying about expelling someone."

"….." the entire class was dumbstruck as a grin formed on their teacher's face, "That was a rational deception to make you all try your hardest." he said proudly. Causing the entire class let out a breath of relief that they were holding. Izuku out of everyone was shaking while Mako patted his shoulder. "And Midoriya." the two looked over to the teacher as he approached them, holding a slip for the green haired student. "Take this to recovery girl. She'll tend to your wounds." he instructed.

The first year nodded and took the paper with his undamaged hand before flashing Mako a shaky smile and walking away. "Mako." the teen turned back to his teacher, "I understand that your protective of Midoriya." he observed, causing the viltrumite to blink in surprise. However recalling how he stepped in between him and Bakugo, he could understand how he came to that conclusion. "However, coddling him will get him nowhere." he added.

Mako's expression flashed to defensive, "Hey maybe if Bakugo actually got in trouble for being such a prick-" Aizawa's eyes flashed and his hair briefly stood up, Mako quieted down.

"Make no mistake, Bakugo's actions were also in the wrong. But he's trying to be a hero just as much as you or Midoriya are." he rationalized. Mako's jaw clenched at the reasoning, his teacher noticed the way his student tensed, "And as much as you want to protect your fellow student, you cannot fight all his battles for him if you want him to grow into a hero." he added. Mako was silent as he thought his teacher's words over, he wasn't wrong in that he probably shouldn't do everything for Midoriya…..maybe he should talk with him about it.

"I'll….take it under advisement Sensei. I still don't think Bakugo should keep getting away with this crap though." he lamented as he walked off with the rest of the class.

With their school day taken up by the Quirk Exam, the students for Class 1-A simply changed back into their uniforms before leaving for the day. Mako stopped outside the entrance of the school and waited for Izuku, thinking on what Aizawa had told him, he was admittedly a little protective of his friend. But given what they've both gone through together, it was a little hard not to be when he knew exactly what his friend had gone through for years.

"Mako! Hey." the half human was startled out of his thoughts by Izuku's voice as he approached, his fingers no longer swelled and bruised but now wrapped in bandages. He winced again from the sight but not as much as last time, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, I'm good to go now." he said thankfully as they walked towards the school entrance.

"No problem, how's the hand?" he asked.

Izuku lifted up his hand with the two bandaged fingers, "It doesn't hurt anymore but I'm a little tired from being healed." he admitted with a sheepish chuckle.

Mako gave his hand a slightly concerned look, "And that happens every time you use your quirk?" he asked. Izuku stiffened up and curtly nodded, suddenly on edge.

"Well it's if I use it at a 100%, my body just isn't used to this power but if I keep training it should be able to withstand it after a while." he replied in a rehearsed line.

Mako blinked, "Wait a second how the hell do you even have super strength? Your dad breathes fire and your mom can make objects move…..or wait is it one of those recessive things?" he asked. Izuku immediately nodded, recessive quirks were more or less how some new quirks could be developed, when the parents both had a relative who had a similar power that's compatible with one another and could form in a offspring.

"Y-Yeah, that's what I think at least." he said nervously, Mako gave him a strange look as they walked out of the school. "What is it?" he asked.

Mako looked ahead of them, "Look um….it's just-"

"Midoriya! Mako!" the pair stopped and turned back to see Iida, "I'm glad to see you've recovered Midoriya." he said as he caught up to them and walked with them. "I must be honest, while I understand why Aizawa sensei deceived us like that, I'm not sure that I approve of such methods for a teacher of U.A." he admitted.

Mako nodded in agreement while Izuku simply looked relived, "Hey you guys!" The trio turned around to see the girl with short brown hair running to catch up to them. "Are you guys heading to the station?" she asked nicely as she caught up to them.

Iida recognized her from the ball throwing exercise, "Oh! You're the infinity girl."

She was taken off guard by the descriptor before chuckling to herself, "Oh yeah! You guys don't know my name! I'm Ochako Uraraka. Let's see…" she looked between the three of them, "Your Tenya Iida, Mako Metuki and…Deku right? Midoriya?" she asked politely. Mako winced while his friend gawked at her.

"Deku!?" he barked out embarrassingly.

Uraraka titled her head questionably, "It's not? But during that test that Bakugo guy said-" she began as Mako and Izuku both recalled him before charging at him like a madman.

"Ooooooh." both Mako and Izuku said, Uraraka seemed even more confused, Izuku blushed out of embarrassment, "Oh-well, you see, my real name is Izuku Midoriya, 'Deku' is what Kachan calls me to make fun of me." he explained timidly.

Iida seemed taken aback, "Well that's very unsportsmanlike." he noted.

Uraraka gasped a little when she realized she was using such a derogatory name, "Oh I'm sorry! I didn't realize that, I thought it sounded like a cool hero name." she explained with a bright smile. "Plus I think it's kinda cute."

"Deku it is!"

Mako slapped his hand over his mouth to stop himself from laughing and failed horribly as he keeled over to the side, Oh my god that is the most funny thing I've ever heard! he thought as his friend covered his blushing face. After having a moment to recover, he stood back up and wiped the tear of joy out the corner of his eye, "Oh thank you, thank you for that Uraraka." he chuckled.

The gravity girl smiled, "I don't think I totally get but your welcome." she said before adding, "Oh yeah! That thing you did with the ball was super cool! you threw it around the world!" she praised as the group of students all began walking the stone path that led to the gate of U.A.

Izuku recovered instantly from the mention of the feat, his embarrassment replaced by intrigue, "Oh yeah! You never told me you could do that! I mean givenyouraltitudefromwhenyoupitchedityouhadtohavecompensatedforgravity'seffectonitso-" he began mumbling, Iida and Uraraka both looking at him as they tried to piece together what exactly he was saying. Looking at Mako, he shook his head, silently telling them not to even try before he snapped out of it. "Oh, sorry." he apologized sheepishly.

"Your fine, and my dad actually showed me that. He just tossed me a mitt, and told me to meet him like a mile above our place." he explained with a shrug. "Then he threw it, told me to turn around, and I caught it."

Izuku took the information in stride, nodding in understanding while Uraraka and Iida stared at the other boy, "Wait! Whose your dad?!"

"Omni Man." Mako replied, Iida and Uraraka gawked at him in disbelief making him grin at the response that he usually got when he mentioned who his father was.

Uraraka suddenly snapped her fingers, "Oh yeah! That's why your strong and can fly! Wait, does that man your…." she trailed off.

"I'm half alien, yeah." Mako said with a shrug. Uraraka's eyes widened with Iida's in fascination. "I don't like, speak alien or anything. Usually that's the first question I get asked."

Iida was the first to recover from his shock, "I didn't mean to offend if I did! It's just-"

"We only got the one." Mako said understandingly. When his father came out as being an alien from another world, it honestly wasn't a big a deal as he thought it would be. Mako reasoned that it was due to the fact that with the entire world having superpowers, something that would be so world changing wasn't really that anymore. "Honestly it's not that big a deal, I didn't even get my powers until last year." he explained.

Izuku tilted his head, "By the way, did you ever find out what happened to that trash bag?" he asked curiously, Mako had told him in finer detail exactly how he discovered his powers finally manifested after school on the day he showed off.

Iida gave the shorter student a confused look, "I'm sorry, trash bag?"

"When my powers first came in I was taking out the trash, when I went to pitch the bag into the bin it just sorta….went." he explained with a sheepish smile.

Uraraka brought a finger to her chin, "Huh, you think it landed somewhere?" she asked.

Mako thought about it for a brief second before shrugging, "Who knows? I mean it's probably somewhere off in space right?" he asked.

Meanwhile, in London England!

"Oi, when the hell they gonna clean up this mess!" one man said as he and his friend walked around a large hole in the sidewalk that was cordoned off as a crater, in front of the yellow police tape a man stood on a box praising a gift that fell from the heavens a year ago on this day.

His friend shrugged, "I dounno mate, honestly though the smell is worse then the sight yeah?" he asked as they passed the hole in the ground.

When Mako arrived home, he was a fountain of information to his parents about his first day, telling them about their teacher, whom Izuku later told him was the underground Pro-hero Eraserhead, to the basic exercises that they went to test out their abilities. "-I still can't believe he flat out lied to everyone about expelling whoever came in last." he said as he swirled his fork around the spaghetti that his dad had picked up while out on patrol.

Kali took a bite of the garlic bread sticks before answering, "U.A. does have special teaching permissions so that they're given more freedom on how to teach their students." she reminded. "I'm just glad Izuku wasn't expelled, poor dear would have been devastated." she said sympathetically before taking a sip of the wine she poured for her and her husband.

"So what about you? Where'd you get in the rankings?" he asked curiously.

Mako paused as he recalled it and frowned, "Ugh, I was in fourth. And I was behind Bakugo." he said in frustration.

Nolan looked surprised, "Wait, how?" he asked in bafflement.

"Nolan." Kali began with a tense tone.

He raised his hands up, "Not like that, I meant what did you have trouble with?" he asked.

Mako thought back, "Well the side step one? I couldn't fly and just hover side to side at super speed, my feet needed to touch the ground." he remembered. "Also the upper body strength one was kinda weird? I sorta….pulled the bar down." he explained, Nolan nearly choked on his drink as he laughed, Kali snorting to herself as well. "Aside from that they weren't that challenging. Uraraka got infinity on the Ball throw though, so when you're second to that-"

"That's fair." Nolan chuckled as he grabbed a napkin, "But I do see why your teacher would do that, some people have more potential than others. And as much as you dislike Bakugo, his quirk is powerful." he said as his son swallowed his noodles.

Mako's brow scrunched up, "Yeah well just because he's strong doesn't mean he's better then everyone else." he replied with a bit of anger. "You know…..and I you can't tell this to anyone, he once told Izuku that if he wanted a quirk so bad he should take a dive off the roof of the school." he revealed, Bakugo to what little credit he had in Mako's eyes only said it that one time. But it never faded from Mako's mind.

"WHAT?!" Kali barked out, her hands slamming on the table in anger, Nolan's eyes widened as well, "Oh that little-wait, was this actually at school?!" she asked in disgust. Mako swallowed despite having no food and nodded dutifully, "Oh I am going to slap a civil suit on that place so hard that they're grandchildren are going to need to make payments!" she seethed, Nolan reaching over and patting her on the shoulder.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" his dad asked.

"Well that was the day I got my powers, and he never really went that far after so…." he trailed off. "At least Aizawa sensei did something about his outburst today. So who knows? Hopefully the school will straighten him out." he said before finishing his plate.

Kali shook her head, "Still I can't believe Mitsuki's son would say something. Does Inko know?" she asked.

Mako rubbed the back of his head, "I don't know, I mean I offered to set him straight for Izuku but he told me not to." he said, recalling how he offered Izuku the chance for him to 'accidently' hit Bakugo once but him being very against it. Suddenly his and Aizawa's talk came to mind, "Do you guys…..do you guys think I might be a little too protective of him?"

"Yes." was Nolan's immediate response, Kali and Mako both looked at him in shock, "Son, I know you just want to help him. But Izuku has his own power now. Sure it might not be developed, but if you fight all his battles for him, then he won't learn to fight them on his own." he explained reasonably. Mako looked down unsurely, that was more or less what Aizawa had told him, noticing that it wasn't exactly the answer he wanted to hear, Nolan reached his hand over onto his son's shoulder. "Look son, I understand wanting to care for someone who can't take care of themself, but Izuku has a quirk. He needs to learn to stand up for himself." he explained.

His son let out a sigh, "Yeah….yeah I hear you dad." he said understandingly as he took his plate and walked to the sink to wash his dishes.

As he walked away, Nolan looked over at Kali who gave him a proud smile and mouth, 'Good talk' to him. Nolan smiled back before taking a drink of his wine.

Well he listens to me, that's a relief. he thought to himself.

AN: Ok so yeah, all students are in this PLUS Mako, bringing the number of students up to 21. I know that there are only 20 spots on the hero course in the manga and anime. But considering that they can bend the rules so that a teacher can expel their entire class on their first day, I think adding one more isn't too much.

Now then, onto reviews!

Rnij: Yeah, I mean I've read the comics, and…..well ok that's the worst day of his life thus far.

awesomerebel55: Well I wouldn't exactly say Deku is a 'pain in the neck' for him at that point? It's more like he annoys him and thought he'd finally be out of his hair but….yeah.

Dcraus: Well…..look I just think of Stephen Yuen as Mako since he's the voice of Mark, and while I appreciate the sugguestions, just listing things for me to watch or asking me to do crossovers isn't how I work. I'm sorry, I don't watch the same things that you do for the most part and the ones I do I can't really picture crossing them over.

Maelstrom Resurrected: Well he saw it this chapter but I don't think I'd consider it in action yet.

Luke5921: Glad you had fun reading the chapter!

KingBanana: I don't know if they ever gave a actual timeline in the comics for when he and Mark fight? I know that there's one early on in the first issue because of the high school bomber story they did but I don't know about the Invincible vs Omni Man fight. And if you think about it, it's already ben 10 + months since Mako got his powers now….

viewing civilian: Yeah I was not really expecting this big a following because Invincible the series had ended a few months ago now and there wasn't even a comic tag for them on here but hey I'm not complaining. Writing Nolan is espically fun because I know beforehand what his journey is and it's kind of like foreshadowing it.

Clearing Yuta: Thank you!

MadTitan9: Thanks! And while it was really tempting to have Mako replace Sugar rush or someone from the class, I also feel that would constrain Mako to a degree? Like now because he's just part of the whole class now, he's not going to just take someone else's place.

And no, it is not heresy to ship Dekulissa when you also ship IzuOcha, I am guilty of it and I can't help it! She's the best! Well all the girls are but she's especially the best to me!

Public Safety Comission are the worst, I love them conceptiually and how they're handled in the show as a semi-antagonist entity. And how we don't really see the flaws with it until we get to the MVA portion of the story.

As for the Guardians, they are in this story, BUT it's…..different.

As for Darkwing, there is a idea they explore with him in the Invicible comics, but ultimately? He and the rest of the original guardians are just Justice League stand ins. And, realistically what happened to him IS what would happen if a guy with no powers fought Superman who didn't have morals. It doesn't matter how much prep time you have, if he suddenly brings the fight to you, you're not gonna last long.

I mean it's extended in the show but Omni man kills every single one of them on one page of the issue they're introduced in.

Don't get me wrong, I like batman, he's an awesome superhero, but him beating superman is something I never really think he could do. And when he does, Clark always isn't fighting seriously or is holding back in some way. But I get what your looking for, and you might get something like that in the future.

Saint-Leiker: We'll we're getting some action next chapter I can say for sure.

igotnoskil: I mean I really don't mind that personally? Like what happens here for instance isn't that much different from the anime or manga, we just see it through a different lens. But I do get what you mean by getting tired of them.

D3lph0xxl0v3r: Ehhhh I get why people compare viltrumites to sayins, but also remember that sayins didn't really do any conquering until Freeza and his dad arrived to raise them up. So if anything they're more like him. And they do get pissed pretty easily, but they don't have as big a fight boner as a sayin does. Like they're not gonna let someone get strong enough to challenge them, they're gonna kill them before that can happen.

ForSleepy: I kinda touch on it here but yeah they're aware of aliens but I mean….when everyone has superpowers, is it really that surprising anymore? I mean Marvel, DC, and even Invincible's worlds all know that aliens are out there but they don't change anything super drastically.

And it's more like All Might is the strongest hero on the planet, he may not be in his prime anymore but Nolan doesn't know that.

Archer: Yeah that would be cool to see.

Wizardwolf 1020: That's true, I did some re-reading and Nolan is a few 1000 years old and did take care of some fairly powerful races. But looking at the comics and show of invincible, while Omni Man is certainly powerful, I think it's somewhat exaggerated how strong he is. For instance, the Akira sattilte they blasted him with in the show? That's only in the show itself, Nolan never had something like that happen in the comics so I assume that either it's now as powerful as we initially think, or it's just used for dramatic effect.

Plus even in the show, all the guardians are able to do very noticeable damage to Nolan to the point of exhausting him, and those blows aren't as powerful as what All Might can do.

And obviously Nolan can fly at like Mach 2, but All Might can also move and take out like half a dozen villains in like the blink of an eye as we see before the Nomu fight.

And even then a bullet can go over 1800 miles per hour or twice the speed of sound, the speed of Mach 2 is exavtly 1534.54 miles per hour for reference. So while the feats LOOK incomparable, it's more about how they're presented. It's also kind of hard to tell because of the styles of the shows and comic/manga, still images have a hard time conveying time (Jojo's bizarre adventure shows this off when a villain can monologue for a minute while time is only frozen for five seconds).

And there's no real mention of a combat style of viltrumites? I mean they aren't some tactical geniuses or anything they mostly rely on bruste strength to conquer their enemies.

Hexenbiest: Don't be too hard on others authors, I mean an indi comic probably isn't the first guess for crossing over with a hit shonen.

For'Sleepy: Ahhhhhh, now THAT'S a good question! I won't say anything to spoil but that's something I have taken into consideration, plus you know, gotta see how the manga deals with that.

WOKELAND: Well he also doesn't want to just wipe them all out and take away other's people's chances, plus I mean if I was told I need to destroy 1-3 pointes to get into a school? I think 50 would be a pretty sizable goal.
