Out of this World
"Oh this isn't an issue. I have a spare." Melissa said dismissively as Mako showed her the remains of his mask, much to the half viltrumite's relief. After getting home from school and changing, Mako took off to I-Island to inform Melissa of what happened to his brad new costume. He had known her for a while, but not long enough to know how she would react to something she worked on being broken, so he assumed she might be mad, disheartened, or just sad. None of which he wanted to see, but he also knew that he shouldn't just lie to her, so he decided to be direct.
He let out a relieved breath at her response, "Thanks, sorry about this I honestly didn't mean for it to get trashed." he said apologetically as Melissa walked across her lab to open the closet, Mako's eyes widened when he saw a trio of costumes identical to the one he was wearing at school. "Huh….nevermind I don't feel bad anymore." he said with a smirk.
Melissa looked over her shoulder at him and smiled, "It's a support engineer to think ahead. And I figured with how strong you are, you might wind up going through a few. These are made of some more sturdy materials so hopefully they don't tear as easily." she explained as she took one off the rack. As she was about to turn around however, she stopped and grabbed another one, "Just in case." she added, Making Mako chuckle as she handed the two costumes to him.
"Thank you. Seriously, I was worried you'd be mad." he admitted.
The blonde girl waved him off, "Oh of course not. I mean it's inevitable for heroes' costumes to be damaged." she explained as she folded the costumes on the work table. "I thought of adding some extra padding but I think with how strong you are it might just wind up getting in the way, or just breaking against your skin and making a bigger mess." she explained.
Mako hummed, "Never thought of that, so that's why most superheroes have skintight costumes." he realized jokingly, thinking back to his comics at home while Melissa giggled as he placed the costumes in his schoolbag he brought with him. "My friend thought it was awesome by the way." he praised, making her face warm up from the praise.
Melissa smiled at him before looking over at her table where a few blueprints where sketched out, "I hope my other invents are just as awesome." she said optimistically as her friend turned to the long able in the middle of the room and looked at the papers inquisitively. Melissa saw his interest and reached for one and pulled it over to them, aligning it so Mako could see it, "This is a plan I have for a dispenser that fires out a capsule that encases people in a super dense cocoon." she explained, the launcher looking like it could fit on someone's wrist.
"For capturing bad guys?" Mako guessed.
Melissa shook her head, "Good guess, but no. Originally that was my idea, but then I realized that if the polymer that encased them was strong enough, it could possibly protect the person it wraps up from danger." she explained as she turned to him. "For instance, let's say there's a earthquake in Japan, and a building becomes unstable. A hero could get inside, shoot these cocoons off at the people inside, leave, and let the building collapse. The people inside these pods will be perfectly fine and let the heroes rescue them without fear of hurting them during their recovery efforts." she explained.
Mako blinked in surprise, "That's super cool! You could save so many lives with that." he said as he looked at the sketch with renewed interest. Melissa beamed at his response, "What else are you working on?" he asked with interest.
The blonde support crossed her arms over herself, "Well I have another project in mind for a magnetic stretcher that can hover off the ground and allow for easier movement. But it's just a draft right now." she admitted with a shrug, Mako seemed interested nevertheless. "What about you? How'd the mask get ruined anyway?" she asked curiously.
Mako rubbed the back of his head, "Well….."
One Recap of last chapter later.
Melissa's eyes were wide behind her glasses, "All Might is teaching your class!?" she yelped in surprise.
Mako made a see-sawing motion with his flat hand, "Ehhhh? I mean Aizawa taught us the day before that so maybe it's on rotation?" he assumed. Everyone in their class knew that All Might would be teaching at U.A.'s hero course but none of them asked exactly what the scheduling would be. "Oh god imagine if you're in general studies, your just minding your own business, and then All Might shows up for your Math class." he shorted in amusement, Melissa giggling behind her hand at the mental image of the students freaking out as well.
Uncle Might teaching? Oh I wish I could see that. the blonde thought jokingly as she looked at Mako, the black haired boy looked back at her and he suddenly looked away. She tilted her head inquiringly at him, he looked as though he wanted to say something.
"So….um…..after I get off school today-er, tomorrow?" he asked himself, suddenly unsure.
Melissa thought for a moment, Japan was about three or four hours ahead of them from I-Island's current position she assumed. "Tomorrow." she confirmed, helping him and making him smile.
"Right, tomorrow. Anyway, do you have any plans?" he asked. Melissa thought to herself for a moment, doing the time math in her head, she'll be out of class for a while at that point. She shook her head, "Oh! So um…..would you like to hang out?" he asked forwardly. Melissa blinked in surprise, "I mean we could grab lunch or something, if you want! If not then that's fine, just…well…wanted to offer." he said, looking down and unbale to look her in the eye while she smiled amusingly at his question deteriorating.
"Well would already have had lunch, but a early dinner would be nice. I know a great place here on the island that has great Mexican food." she offered, making Mako look up at her hopefully.
"Really?" he asked, she flashed a smile at him. "Ok! Awesome! I'll see you at…." he trailed off, his hand lifted up as he silently tried to calculate the time difference. "Seven?" he guessed.
"Seven." she affirmed.
"Time zones suck." he replied.
Melissa giggled, " You got it though! That's something." she praised, making his lips curl in shared amusement. "So, tomorrow at seven. I'll see you then Mako." she affirmed as Mako stepped toward the window he entered from.
"See ya then." he said with a nod before lifting up off the ground, closing the window behind him before shooting up into the sky, a smile spread over his face. "Awesome." he said to himself, "Hanging out with Melissa tomorrow after school." he said to himself happily. Maybe Izuku wasn't too far off with his miswording? Mako thought to himself as he flew towards the setting sun.
The next morning, Mako awoke and went through his morning routine before walking into the living room where his dad was sitting at the table, reading his tablet in his hand and cup of coffee in his other. "Hey dad, where's mom?" he asked curiously as he walked over into the kitchen to grab a breakfast bar from the cupboard and a glass of milk.
"She went to the office early, she's working on a lawsuit for your old school." he casually mentioned as his son sat down, Mako preforming a double take at his father's words. When he saw the confused look his son had he explained, "Well after you told us about what Katsuki got away with she had some people from her firm look into the matter and apparently you and Izuku weren't the only ones subject to discrimination." he explained.
"Seriously?" Mako gawked in surprise, "I didn't expect her to actually…." he trailed off.
Nolan snorted amusingly, "What? Not follow through?" he asked, his son rubbed the back of his head. "When your mother sets her mind to something? It's hard as hell to stop her." he said fondly before taking a drink of his coffee. Mako was quiet for a few seconds before shrugging to himself and taking a bite of his protein bar.
That school had been hell for him and Izuku for the past few years, he and Izuku hated it there but it was the only place that they could both go to. His parents probably could have found a better place for him if he really complained, but then there was no guarantee that he wouldn't face anything just as bad, if not worse. "Well who knows? Maybe Bakugo will finally get what's coming to him?" he asked hopefully.
Finishing his coffee and setting the cup down, Nolan looked across the table at his son, "Mako, I know that you don't like him, but Bakugo isn't…..exactly wrong in his thinking." he said, causing his son to look at him with wide eyes. "From his perspective, your and Izuku were quirkless for all your lives, and from what you told me? No one in your class had a quirk as strong as his is."
Mako's brow creased together but he listened to his dad's words, "So just because he's got a powerful quirk, he's allowed to look down on everyone else?" he asked with a sarcastic tone.
Nolan gave his son a look, "I'm not saying how he acted was right, he's not superior to you. But he has strength Mako, and that carries a lot of weight. Earth wouldn't have heroes if there wasn't those strong enough to do what's needed to be done." he reasoned. Mako pressed his lips together, he was raised to believe that everyone was equal and had the same rights as everyone else. But looking back on how he was treated growing up? That honestly didn't seem like the case, he and Izuku weren't given the same treatment as people with quirks, and even those who had quirks weren't given the same treatment as those with powerful ones.
"But…..that's not fair." Mako said plainly. "I mean, I could have never gotten my powers." he said as he set his arms down on the table, "We never really talked about it but I mean what were the actual odds of me getting your powers?" he asked. Nolan opened his mouth but closed it, "I know that you kept saying I'd get them, and I always appreciated you saying that but after a while I started thinking about what I'd do if I didn't get them?" he explained.
Nolan's eyes softened, "Mako…son…" he stopped, he couldn't think of what exactly to say.
"I…I always wanted to be just like you dad. I mean you're Omni Man, earth's protector." he said, looking up at his dad and smiling at him. "I mean your not All Might or anything-" he joked, making his dad chuckle. "-but…I don't know. I just wanted to make you proud." he admitted, his eyes looking away bashfully.
Nolan smiled before standing up and waking around the table to embrace his son, surprising the teen, "Mako, you've never disappointed me in your life. And I don't think you ever could." he said before drawing away and sharing a smile with his son. Suddenly a buzzing in his pocket got his attention, reaching in he saw there was a news alert on his phone. "Aw damn, there's some inter-dimensional portal opening up in Russia." he said as Mako got on his own phone and did a quick search.
What he saw on the screen of his phone was a massive number of humanoid figures exiting a large swirling portal in the icy tundra. There was suddenly a beam of green energy from off camera that hit the ground in front of the force and blasted the soldiers back. The camera turned to the source as a man in the snow rushed forward, he wore a costume that seemed to be more like a uniform then a hero costume. It was a pair of black combat pants and military boots with a light grey wool jacket with shortened sleeves and a large green star in the middle of his chest with the scythe and sickle crossed over it. His exposed arms were like green X-rays, showing the black outlines of his bones with power radiating off them. the man's face was covered by a gas mask.
Mako couldn't understand the Russian correspondent, but the name 'Rad Russian' was spoken, making him let out a sound of recognition. The Rad Russian was Russia's top rated superhero, being able to produce radioactive energy at will. He was a literal nuclear deterrent, as his powers were dangerous for people to be exposed to, so his mere presence reduce the crime rate in Russia drastically.
Nolan's gaze turned firm, "I need to go." he said before zooming off to his bedroom to retrieve his costume while Mako finished his breakfast. His father reappeared a moment later, ruffling his hair, "See you later Mako." he said before taking off through the open door to the balcony and shooting off towards the northwest.
Arriving at U.A. later, the half Viltrumite was surprised to find a large crowd of people out in front of the campus gates, stopping students as they approached. "Well glad I'm not part of that." Mako thought as he merely flew overhead and landed on the path to the school. Looking back towards the gate, he finally recognized the crowd as reporters when he saw the various cameras, microphones, and heard the chatter of questions.
He remembered when his dad finally came out as an alien to the world, reporters camped outside their apartment building for a solid week to try and get an interview with him, his mom, or his dad. His mother thankfully got a cease and desist order when Mako couldn't get to school without his dad flying him there. Well at least I can fly over them myself now. he thought as he saw both Ochako and Izuku emerge from the gates, both of them looking somewhat frazzled by the reporters. "Heyyyy." he grinned at them.
Izuku blinked, "Can you fly me here on Monday? I'm not sure if I can deal with all these people and their questions." he asked hopefully, still recovering from how nervous the bombardment of questions made him. He wasn't one for the spotlight, Mako wasn't either but he admired that Mako could at least keep his composure.
"Is it going to be like this when we become heroes?" Uraraka asked, like Izuku she was reeling but didn't seem as flustered.
Mako shrugged, "My dad just flies away before the press can show up. You could probably float yourself away." he offered.
The gravity user blanched as she shook her head, "I can't float myself, whenever I try it I get…" she trailed off and glanced away, her cheeks turning a little red in embarrassment. "Queasy." she admitted.
Mako winced, "Oh that sucks." he sympathized.
She nodded, "Yeah, has that ever happened to you?" she asked curiously.
Mako rubbed the back of his head, "Not really? When I fly I'm in full control of my body and direction. I mean I don't even need gravity to move around when I'm flying, I create my own leverage." he explained, Uraraka hummed thoughtfully at his explanation. As they began walking to the school for their homeroom class, "So, what do you guys think we're in for today?" he asked suddenly.
The first two days of class were….interesting to say the least. Between the threat of expulsion and the combat evaluation, the whole class wasn't sure what to expect now.
Izuku shuttered, "Please just be a pop quiz, something normal…please…" he asked aloud pleadingly as they entered the school.
The three took their seats in class moments later, with Aizawa entering the class just before the late bell rang. Thankfully everyone was present and in their seats before then, "Alright then, I've looked over the reports from the mock battle yesterday. Good work all around." he announced to the class before looking over to the spikey haired blonde. "Bakugo." he stated, making the explosive user stiffen slightly in his seat, "You have potential, don't waste it and get hung up on a loss." he instructed.
Mako watched out the corner of his eye as his eyes narrowed and gave a curt nod, "Got it." he replied simply.
Well he's…..back to normal? Mako gussed as Aizawa directed his attention to Midoriya. He had asked what he went to go talk to Bakugo about on the way home from school yesterday, but Izuku simply said that he wanted to make sure he was ok. Seriously man, your too nice for your own good sometimes. he thought.
"Now then, for home room, today you'll all make an important decision." he announced, causing the entire class to turn stiff as a board.
Oh god what now?! Mako asked himself in dismay.
"….you'll pick a class president." Aizawa finished.
The class let out a collective sigh of relief, Mako himself leaning over his desk, Oh thank you god. he said silently.
The silcence of calm was then immediately followed by chaos.
"I wanna be president! Let me do it!"
"I wouldn't mind."
"I wanna be leader!"
"Me! Me! Chose me!"
"if I'm elected! I will shorten the school skirts to show off more thighs!"
Mako blinked at the last one, Ok. Wow. he thought to himself before looking over his classmates, almost all of which had their hand rasied. Baukgo included who seemed to be struggling to be heard despite the volume of his voice, Izuku was shyly raising his hand up behind him as well, throwing his hat into the ring. Who in their right mind would want to be in charge of all this? Mako thought to himself.
He never really considered himself a leader, back in middle school when they did group projects or activities he usually just did what others told him. He'd only step up and take on a leader's role if he absolutely had to do it, and this time it seemed like that was no problem.
"quiet down everyone!" Iida's voice said, causing everyone to stop and listen. "Leading is more than a title, it is a responsibility. And Ambition doesn't equal ability, so in order for this to be a democracy, then I suggest that we vote for our class leader." he said as he raised his hand high.
Mako gave him a look, "Um, Iida, this is a classroom. Not the National Diet." he said calmly.
Tsyu turned back to him as well, "Not to mention we've only known each other for two days, that's not long to build much trust." she reasoned.
Kirishima nodded with a conflicted expression, "Yeah besides man, won't everyone just vote for themselves at that point?" he added constructively.
Iida chopped his hand forward, "That's pricesely why it's perfect, anyone who manages to get the most votes will be the most suited for the job." he reasoned.
Mako, Tsyu, and Kirishima all looked at one another, "That…..actually makes a ton of sense." the Viltrumite agreed. Kirishima and the frog girl nodded in agreement, "Ok, concern withdrawn Iida." he said. Ok but whose the best one here suited for the role? he thought as he glanced around the room.
Aoyama, the other blonde boy in the class who spoke with a French accent was who Mako's eyes went to, Too self absorbed. he thought before looking over to Sero, a student who could produce tape from his elbows and use it to set traps and bind people. He's alright but he doesn't really do his own thing. he thought. Mineta-No. he bluntly thought. Mina was his next guess, Mina is a ton of fun, but I don't think she has it in her to calm people down when we need to.
Momo Yaoyorozu was the next one he looked at, Hmm, wasn't she the one who got in here on recommendation? She's pretty smart, she'd probably do good. he thought positively. He dismissed Bakugo out of hand before he looked over at Izuku, Man your my best friend but….you couldn't give Bakugo an order to save your life. he thought, knowing that Izuku himself would probably agree.
Then again it'd make Bakugo furious…nah, can't do that to my friend. Besides It'll probably be Momo or someone like Tsuyu. Maybe Shoji? Shoji seems like a chill guy. he thought, looking over at the taller student who had muscular tentacles on his sides.
It was not Tsuyu, it was far better than Tsuyu. It was Izuku, and Bakugo was furious.
While his best friend was shaking in place in front of the class, Mako was hunched over his desk trying to muffle his laughter. After their first half of the day was over and the students were let out for lunch. Mako immediately went over to his friend's side and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, "I just want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, that you're going to give Katuski an aneurysm by the end of the year." he said as Izuku pushed his friend's arm off him.
"It's not like I expected to get the role! How did I even get three vote-" the green haired inheritor began before stopping. He turned to Mako with an accusatory look and raised a finger at him, "Did you have something to do with this?" he asked.
Mako grinned as he raised his hands, "Not a thing. I didn't even vote for you, um. No offense." he said as they stopped outside the classroom while Iida and Uraraka joined them.
"None taken….wait then who did you vote for?" he asked curiously, recalling that Mako didn't get any votes.
Mako gestured to Iida, the other student turning to him with shock, "I mean Iida's the one who came up with the idea in the first place. Plus he's not afraid to admit when he crosses a line like when he was a jerk in the entrance exam." he explained.
Iida clenched a hand against his heart, "Mako, you honor me deeply, I was filled with joy upon seeing that someone-wait-"he stopped himself when he fully processed what Mako had said. "I was a jerk!?" he exclaimed in horror.
"I mean, you did sort of call out Izuku on him talking to himself in the introduction with Mic Sensei." he pointed out.
Uraraka cupped her chin, "Oooh! So that's where I remember hearing Iida's voice from!" she realized, having heard Iida's questioning during the entrance exam. Iida looked at her aghast, shocked that see too saw him in such regard at one point.
He bowed his head in utter shame, "I'm ashamed that I would make such a negative impression on all of you! I apologize!" he said dramatically before bowing to his friends.
Mako rolled his eyes as they walked towards the cafeteria, "Mako." the four stopped and turned around to see Aizawa approach the small group.
"Sensei?" Mako greeted as he was approached by their homeroom teacher.
"If you would, could you come with me to the prinicpal's office? Your mother is here." he explained, making Mako's and Izuku's eyes widen.
He turned back to his friends, "I'll catch up with you guys later." he said before following after their teacher, as soon as they where out of earshot he asked, "Is my mom alright?" he asked.
Aizawa turned his head, "Oh no, she's fine. There's just something we need to discuss." he explained, the teen visibly calming down upon the clarification. However with his concern gone, it was replaced with curiosity.
His first thought was that he did something that made his mom need to come in, but he wasn't at any point reprimanded for anything he's done so that probably isn't the case. His grades shouldn't be….well he didn't even know if he had enough assignments done yet to have any grades. Oh god don't tell me mom came here because I forgot a book or something! he thought, having the urge to now rifle through his bag to double check.
As they reached the principal's office, Mako walked in and nearly stopped dead in his tracks, behind the large desk that undoubtedly belonged to the principal of the school, was a small….rat….dog….bear creature with white fur, wearing a dress shirt, black vest tie, and pants! He raised his hand, paw, thing, and smiled at the new student, "Hello my new student, you must be wondering what on earth I am!" he greeted, taking Mako off guard, "Well all you need to know is that I'm the principal, I have the certificate and everything." he explained before lifting up a diploma from behind his desk that simply had his name as Nezu.
Mako gawked before the sound of his mother snickering made him turn to her, where he found his second surprise with the familiar, older man with a scar on the right side of his face, "Mom? Mr. Steadman?" he greeted with confusion as Aizawa entered behind him.
Cecil walked over and shook Mako's hand, "Mako, good to see you again." he greeted as Mako nodded, still visibly unsure of what was going on.
"You too, um….am I in trouble?" he asked finally.
Nezu let out a small laugh, "Oh goodness no! I'd be impressed if you managed to get in trouble only three days into the school year." he said amusingly.
He looked between principal and Cecil, the more jovial expression a hard contrast against Cecil's serious one. "I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but right now Omni-Man is assisting with containing an interdimensional invasion, along with Rad Russian and the Guardians of the Globe." he explained. Mako nodded, the Guardians where an extension of the Global Defense Agency, a group of heroes recruited from various parts of the world to act as a force to combat threats that where….well, a global level.
"Yeah, I saw my dad take off for it." he answered as Cecil pulled out a device from his inner jacket.
"Well while your father is dealing with that, we got a ping on our long range satellite of a object entering our solar system." he explained as he activated the device which showed a projection of a video on the wall. The image showed space with a small orange and purple shape fly by it, before changing course. "Your father actually has dealt with this guy before, he shows up every three years, fights your dad, then retreats back into space." Cecil explained.
"Sounds….irritating." Mako replied.
Cecil nodded as he looked at the still image, "Problem is, I can't pull your dad out of Russia. He's key to keeping this invasion contained." he explained before turning back to Mako. "Which….is why I'm hoping you can step up," he said, causing Mako to blink in disbelief.
"You-you want me to go to space?!" he exclaimed in shock.
Cecil nodded, "I read the report about the Muller Twins attacking I-Island, you handled yourself well there for a rookie. And the number of heroes we have that can operate in space you can count on one hand, and less than half of them can get up there without assistance." he explained before looking over to Aizawa who met him with an evenly serious expression. "Look, I wouldn't even be asking if I didn't have any other immediate options. But for all we know as soon as he hits the atmosphere he could have some sort of contagion, Nolan stops him in his tracks and sends him packing without much fuss. I'm hoping you can do the same."
Mako seemed unsure, yes he had fought those two blue twins on the island but he didn't beat them physically. But then again, if dad can easily beat this guy, then I should be able to handle him right? he thought to himself before turning to his mom. "What do you think mom?" he asked.
Kali looked over at Cecil with an even look, "Well, the teachers asked me to come here so I could veto this if I didn't feel comfortable…." she looked between his teacher and his principal, then back to her son. "But Mako, I would never tell you that you shouldn't help someone, and I can't think of better reason then maybe saving some people's lives for you to…well, bend the rules."
"What she means is that technically speaking is you'll be made a temporary member of the GDA. When this is over, your back to normal." Cecil explained.
"Regardless of what status you appoint him, your still sending a student into a unknown situation and possibly endangering him." Aizawa bluntly stated. Mako turned back to his disapproving teacher, "Steadman, I don't like that you can deputize anyone as you see fit. And if it where up to me, you wouldn't even be in this building." he said bluntly. He and Cecil locking eyes with equally intense gazes. Mako suddenly felt like he was caught between two polar opposites, and getting between them would end with him being crushed.
"Mako." he looked back to the Principal, "The decision is ultimately yours." he clarified.
Mako pursed his lips together, this was something he wasn't totally prepared for, not yet anyway. But…..if his dad was here….
"I'll do it." he agreed, Aizawa glancing over at his student with knitted brows.
He then let out a sigh, "Alright then, I'll grant you an excuse for your lunch period." he drawled out before leaving the room. As the door closed behind him, he looked over to his mother, who gave him a small, proud smile that made him feel more sure of his decision.
"Alright kid. Suit up and get spaceside, our guest should be here in about ten minutes." he said before a doorway opened up beside him which he walked through, teleporting away.
With the government head gone, he turned to his mom, "So, quick question….how do I breathe in space?" he asked unsurely.
"Oh honey…..you don't." his mother replied, "You just hold your breath."
Eight minutes later, Mako was in his costume, flying straight up from the school and into the sky, the ground getting further and further away behind him while he shot upwards. "Ok, ok, no big deal. Just go to space, beat the alien, and make him go home. Easy superhero stuff." he reasoned to himself as he broke through the clouds. Soon the blue of the sky darkened, with millions of small lights far off into the distance, Alright, here I go. he thought before inhaling a deep breath.
Leaving the planet, the first thing he noticed was the lacking pull of gravity, it was still there but instead of a noticeable weight, it was more of a tug on his mass. Slowing himself to a stop, Mako turned around to see the horizon of the planet below him, Oh…..wow…..I gotta get a picture of this sometime. he thought to himself. Shaking his head, he turned around to the open space for any sign of the alien, not noticing the upside-down shape approaching him from behind before slamming into him!
"hey! Your Early!" Mako blinked as he shook off the hit and turned himself around. Floating in space was in fact an alien, he was humanoid in appearance, two arms, two legs, but instead of five fingers and toes on each respective limb, there were only three. He was also muscular, not on the level of All Might, but he still posed an intimidating figure. Along with the lack of fingers, his orange skin color was another giveaway to his roots, as well as the singular eye in the middle of his slightly elongated head above his smirking mouth.
He wore a white one piece uniform that went from his wrists down to his ankles where a dark pink color went up to his knees. He wore a belt around his waist to break up the pants from the shirt, and a matching dark pink jacket that reminded him of what pilots would wear. However there were more pressing matters that got his attention, "Are-are you in my head?!" he exclaimed before shooting forward and slamming into the alien, bracing his forearm against him while his other fist drew back and puched him away.
"Ngh! Oh! You're a different guy from usual. I just thought you shaved your mustache at first." the alien spoke back to him inside his mind. "Also, if your trying to tackle me, you should do it into something. Like your moon." he said as he pointed over, Mako followed his gaze and saw that the moon was indeed off in the distance. When he turned back to the alien, a fist crashed into his face, "Also don't take both your eyes off me, at least have one of them on me…..wait is that how having two eyes work? I've heard different things." he asked.
Mako was sent back a few feet, pushing back the direction he was going, he shook his head and raised his hands, "Ok, how's this!?" Mako asked before shooting in close as the alien swung, Mako ducked under the punch and uppercutted the extraterrestrial before flying up after him!
Alien flipped backwards to face Mako, "Ok, not bad. So you got spunk." he said as Mako threw another punch which he caught, he pulled Mako forward and slammed his other fist into his gut. The breath Mako was holding partially shot out through his nose, "But spunk only gets you so far." he said to the young teen before swinging him around to Earth and hitting him with a left cross that sent him flying back don to Earth!
Mako's vision spun as he tumbled through the air, Shit! Spinning out! Gotta stop! he thought to himself as he once again fought against his rotation until he stopped just inside Earth's atmosphere. Mako let out a large gasp, "Ok! Yeah, I needed that." he said to himself before taking another gulp of air and shooting back into space. Seeing the distant shape of the alien grow close, Mako sneered, Something to tackle into huh? he thought as he slammed into the alien again.
The alien rlled his eye as Mako's arms grabbed his sides, "Geeze you are green, I already told you that-" he began as he raised his arms over his head, preparing to slam them down onto the teen's back as a shadow overtook them. Wait, shadow? the alien thought as he turned and looked back out he coner of his eye to the rapidly approaching moon!
"Oh hey you actually-" the alien began before the duo crashed into he side of the orbiting body, a large plume of desbrs shooting up from where they impacted. Mako tumbled out of the dust, skidding across the surface of the moon before stopping. Standing up, he rubbed the dust off his goggles as the debries cleared and the alien stood up, dusting his jacket off.
"What was that about tackling?" Mako asked with a smirk.
The Alien rolled his eye and smirked as well, "Alright, alright, totally fair. Man all this time I thought the other Champion didn't understand me." he thought in amusement, making Mako pause.
He suddenly lowered his hands, "Champion? What are-" he started before the alien zoomed across the surface and punched him, Mako's feet sliding across the ground and building up piles behind him with the alien flying after him, Mako rasied his arms blocking a punch aimed for the side of his head but another hitting him in the side. He grit his teeth, the Alien was stronger than either of those twins he fought before but this was more on even footing.
Mako leaned back and dodged another punch, swinging his foot up and kicking the alien upside the head and up into the air as Mako flipped back onto his feet. "Ok wait! What champion?!" he finally aske, having time to gather his thoughts while the Alien recovered.
His brow creased in confusion, "Uhh, your champion? The one selected to guard your world?" he said, trying to clarify.
Mako shook his head, "I have no idea what your talking about man. Er, alien….male? I don't want to assume gender." he said, raising his hands up as the other alien landed a few meters away.
"Appreciated, but I am a dude. And they didn't like….brief you on this? I mean they had the schedule like months in advance." he asked, rubbing the back of his head. Mako tilted his head in confusion, the Alien winced, "Oooh boy. You might want to sit down for this." he said, looking around and noticing a large piece of the ground. Walking over, he grabbed ahold of the sides and broke off a chunk of the moon and walked over to Mako. The teen looked around as well and saw a slab of rock that was from where they collided and sat down on it.
The alien let go of his piece and let it gently set down before sitting as well, "Ok, so I'm basically a public servant, officially my title is Champion Evaluation Officer." he began. "I work with the Coalition of Planets. Each planet gets assigned a champion, someone whose job is to protect the planet against your basic orbital threats. You know, alien parasites, would-be conquerors, you know." he explained with a shrug of his shoulders.
Mako looked at him incredulously, "Buddy, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about."
The alien shook his head, "Seriously? Man you're kidding me, I do this with like every planet on my list. I meet their champion, we tussle a little, I go back, report on how well they did." he educated as he reached onto his belt and unclipped a device. "You're actually really lucky, a couple hundred planets signed up for it but yours is one of the few to actually get it. We're kind of backlogged." he admitted.
Mako blinked, "Wait, woah, woah, back up. Sighed up for this? Dude, my people haven't even gotten past this MOON yet. Hell we only found out about Alien life a decade ago." he said.
A look of confusion crossed the alien's features, "What? That can't be right, hold on." he said as he flicked through is device, "Yeah, see here. Request from Urath for evaluation."
"…what the hell is Urath!? This is Earth!" Mako exclaimed in his mind as he pointed over is shoulder to the big blue planet.
The alien's eye looked between him and his device, "…Earth?"
"Yeah."
"…not Urath?" he asked.
"Nooooo." Mako confirmed.
"….Can you spell that?"
"E.A.R.T.H."
The alien's pupil dilated, "You mean to tell me I've been coming to the wrong planet for fifteen years?" he asked in a small voice. Mako nodded, "Oh…..man…..I am SO fired."
Mako winced, "Sorry man." he said apologetically.
The alien clipped the device back to his belt, "Don't be, not your fault." he said before running his hands down his face. "Oh crap I have an evaluation in twenty years."
Mako was glad there was no sound in space so the alien couldn't hear him chuckle, "Ok so, I have a couple questions. One, how am I even talking to you right now?" he asked.
The alien's eye widened, "Oh! Yeah, that, telepathy. It just scans people's mind so their surface level thoughts can be read. I can't like read your mind or anything. I tried that once, felt like a drill to my brain." he explained.
Mako nodded, " 'Kay, second, and this is just out of curiosity, how'd I do?" he asked curiously, "I mean I know I didn't do better then my dad."
The Alen seemed to chuckle, "Honestly? Not awful. Scale of one to ten? Solid six. I think you just need more experience, I was kind of holding back." he said honestly.
Mako nodded, somewhat disheartened but understanding of the results, "Thanks. Well at least I learned something today while missing out on lunch. Sorry again man." he said as he stood up from his rock while the alien did the same.
"No problem, oh yeah. Name's Allen by the way."
"Mako." the teen introduced.
Allen the Alien reached out and Mako shook his head, "Nice meeting ya Mako, and thanks again!" he said before taking off into space in the direction he came from.
Mako watched him until his shape disappeared in the black void of space. Huh…..he's a nice dude. Mako thought as he turned around, Oh…wow. he thought in awe as he saw Earth as the sun light peaked over the corner of it. Mako sat back down on the rock, he had the rest of his lunch period before he was expected back. And watching the large blue and green planet from the moon was a wonderful way to spend it.
"You're shitting me." Cecil said in disbelief as Mako stood in the principal's office of U.A.
After returning from space and making sure that he was ok, Kali had returned home and was escorted out by Aizawa while Mako was left to tell Nezu and Cecil about what had all transpired, "Nope, the guy was just a evaluator and didn't know he had the wrong planet all this time. Now that he knows he's just gonna try and get back on tack." Mako explained to the GDA director who looked at him in shock.
Nezu meanwhile was grinning, "My, what a wonderful lesson to have been learned today! That communication can solve problems more easily then violence!" he said cheerfully. Cecil pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers as the principal turned to him, "Now then if that will be all you need, I'll be sending Mako on his way to class." he said before looking at his student and nodding.
Mako bowed slightly and turned to the door of the office, exiting and walking down the hall, he was still in his costume and needed to change back into his school uniform before returning to class. Actually I got a spare at home. Could I just wear this under my uniform? I mean that's something superheroes do, like that one comic I have of that guy with arachnid powers. he thought as he turned the corner.
"Young Mako!" All Might exclaimed as he slid out from the corner, making the teen yelp.
"All Might!" he yelled out as he held a hand over his chest, "Jeeze, don't scare me like that." he said, causing the pro hero to stiffen.
"Oh. Sorry. Anyway I heard you returned from Aizawa, are you all right?" he asked with concern.
Mako smiled gratefully but shook his head, "I'm fine just…..kind of a bizarre day." he admitted, if he had been told this morning that he'd have to ditech school to go fight an alien who was just coming to the wrong planet? He would have thought he was having a weird dream.
All Might nodded, "Understandable, you're just starting school here and learning to be a hero, having to battle an other worldly foe so soon? Not to mention the gates of the school being breached-"
Mako blinked, "Wait, what?! The school was breached? When? How?" he asked.
"oh….right, you weren't here for that. Some reporters got in, trying to get an interview with me." He explained, Mako shook his head in disbelief. "Anyway, you better get to class. I need to speak with the principal." he said before walking past a still unbelieving student who shook his head before continuing down the hall.
"Seriously what is today?" he asked himself.
All Might opened the door to the principal's office, thankfully not having to lower his head to walk through the doorway, and closed the door behind him. "Ah! All Might, just who we wanted to see." the principal greeted as Cecil crossed his arms over his chest.
"Principal Nezu, Cecil, good to-" he began.
"First off drop the flexing, we all know you don't have long in that form." he interrupted, making the symbol of peace stop himself before sighing. His body relaxed, steam pouring off him as his whole body and shape shrunk drastically. Gone was the larger than life, muscular form of All Might, and in it's place was the lanky and almost skeletal form of Toshinori Yagi. The two bangs that once stood proud now drooping down the sides of his angular face and sunken eyes, "Good, now second, what the actual fuck where you thinking?" he asked.
All Might sighed, "I see that you're well informed as usual Cecil." his now soft voice observed.
"Oh it doesn't take a government agency to find out that the number one hero has had a nose dive in activity of late." Cecil said curtly. "Not only that, but when I find out that you're personally training a kid who winds up being a student here, and who has a quirk suspiciously like yours? I'm honestly surprised that every other teacher hasn't figured it out." he criticized, uncrossing his hands and sliding them into his pockets.
All Might frowned, "Young Midoriya's training is of no concern of yours Cecil. It's my call who should inherit One for All." he said firmly.
"I could have given you a dozen candidates in an hour, but you go with the kid who doesn't even have a quirk." he stated in disbelief. Cecil took a long breath, "Alright that's not why I'm here. We discovered Captain Celebrity's body yesterday." he said bluntly, making All Might stiffen at the news. "Last time anyone saw him was on the attack of the U.S. Safety Commission's office. But yesterday a fisherman off the coast of the Philippines found a body in the water, very decomposed. We matched dental records…I'm sorry." he said sympathetically.
All Might bowed his head, he had known Chris for years now, his manager was the sister of one of his oldest friends, "Does…..does his wife…" he trailed off.
Cecil solemnly nodded, "Yes we told her this morning….but what we found was troubling, preliminary autopsy shows that he was killed by someone. Which would make him the first victim."
All Might felt his jaw clench, "First?"
Cecil pulled out his device and tapped it, a different screen projecting, showing the photos of every high ranked hero by country. "It started a few months ago when the No. 3 hero in Germany, Ultra-Man, was found dead." he said as a photo appeared of a man with a red cape and black spandex with his chest caved in appeared. "We didn't want to alarm anyone so we kept it quiet. Then in the UK a few weeks later with Lady Liberty found dead in the remains of Big Ben after to collapsed." he said, a new image popping up of a woman in golden armor, her head turned completely around.
"And we found more, and more, right now the death toll is up to fifteen." he explained to All Might whose teeth where gritting in anger.
Nezu's paws folded in front of him, "Cecil, what do you know?" he asked calmly.
The GDA head nodded, "At first our thought was this was a large group, given the scope of the attacks being world wide and how close the timing is between each of them. But we found that every one of the heroes was killed by the same individual." he explained, making All Might's eyes widen.
"One person?" he asked in disbelief.
Cecil turned to him, "I see what you're thinking, but I checked, all where killed with some degree of blunt force trauma. It's one quirk, that's for sure." he explained, making All Might visibly calm down. "We're checking all flight logs over the past few months to find some correlation. When I heard the school was broken into I rushed back." he explained.
Nezu hummed, "And that's why you sent your people to investigate the front of the school." he reasoned.
"They should be done by now." he assured before looking at All Might, "Right now I have the Guardians on standby. I want to put you under surveillance, minute something goes wrong I'll send in the cavalry." he explained.
All Might nodded in understanding, "If you would, please extend this to my friend in the United States, she…I don't want her to be the next target." he said with concern.
"I already told her, she was busy with the relief efforts with the Public Safety Commission at the time of Skyline's death, so we don't think she was in immediate danger." Cecil explained as he disengaged the projection and looked down at his device, "Well the invasion is handled but…..oh damn." he cursed upon seeing the message his second in command had sent him.
"What's wrong?" All Might asked.
"Omni Man and Rad Russian launched a counter offensive, they went into the portals after the invaders." he explained tiredly. "I told him last week that we were going to shadow him and he was having none of it." he said in frustration.
All Might frowned, "Young Mako…..will he be ok with the news?"
Meanwhile in Class 1-A.
"Oh hey Mako! Look!" Izuku said, holding up his phone to his friend, a video playing that showed the same scene he had witnessed at home from his own phone of Russia's dimensional invasion. Only this time there were more of the invaders on the ground with his father and Rad Russian charging through a mass of the invaders and straight into one of the large portals they used!
Iida and Ochako gasped as they looked at Mako who seemed nonplused, "Huh…..well he's gonna miss out, it's spaghetti night tomorrow." he said before looking back down at the notes that Izuku was letting him copy to make up for the class time he missed.
Uraraka gawked at him while Iida chopped the air, "Mako! Your father just went into another dimension! Aren't you concerned?!" he asked.
Mako shrugged, "Iida, my dad does something like this like five times a year. He missed my 13th birthday because he was trapped underneath a mountain that collapsed. This is just another Tuesday." he explained. Iida turned to Izuku who solemnly nodded in confirmation, "So what happened while I was gone? Some reporters broke into the school?" he asked.
"Yeah. Oh! And Deku gave his title of Class Rep to Iida." Uraraka informed him.
Mako snorted, "Knew you'd cave to the pressure of office." he joked to his friend, Izuku pouted only making his friend and Uraraka chuckle at him.
Iida stood off to the side baffled, "I…..but….he's in another dimension." he said quietly.
The rest of his school day was thankfully uneventful for Mako, and after telling his mom what happened to dad, which was met with the same amount of a caviler attitude, he dressed himself in preparation for his meeting with Melissa at I-Island. Upon reaching the Island, Melissa led him to a nice little restaurant that resided on the top of a small building where a lot of students frequented after class.
Sitting down at a table they ordered their food and she asked him about his day, "You met an Alien!?" Melissa asked, her eyes lighting up in excitement and wonder.
He nodded with a smile, "Yeah, guy was apparently coming to the wrong planet for like over a decade." he explained amusingly. Melissa shook her head in disbelief, letting out a laugh, "He seemed like a nice guy. Just got lost, which I don't think I could blame him for." he admitted, if he was just dropped in the middle of space with no idea of where to go? Well it wasn't like navigating a planet.
The blonde support student shook her head before picking up the menu, "And I just spent today studying." she said lamely.
Mako gave her a smile, "Hey don't be like that, you're learning important stuff. And I didn't exactly win the fight, apparently I barely passed according to him." he explained.
Melissa's lips tugged into a smile, "I apricate that, and I know, and it's more like…..I you already started while I can only just study and work on projects. It just makes me want to work more." she explained excitedly. Mako smiled at the positive outlook, "Now then, onto dinner itself." she said as she grabbed the tablet on the table, Mako doing the same. Scrolling through the menu, Mako could see why people would come here, there was a bit of everything to choose from!
Making their selection, the pair watched as a small automated tray came by to collect their tablets, "So do you guys automate everything here?" he asked.
Melissa smiled as she watched the small robot roll away, "Menial stuff mostly, the jobs that a simple AI can handle and that not everyone wants to do. This is just this restaurant though, not all of them have these guys." she explained.
Mako hummed, "So be honest, have you made anything that would just make your life easier?" he asked.
The blonde giggled into her hand, "I may have….attempted to make a robot to sort all my textbooks for me." she admitted, "But I don't really use it anymore since most of my books I get are digital."
The boy across from her smiled, "Well if you're not going to use it, I've been meaning to alphabetize my comic book collection." he offered jokingly. Melissa smiled, "But seriously, that's pretty cool, you could probably sell that to libraries and make a ton of cash off it." he reasoned.
Melissa shrugged, "I guess so, but….well it's not about the money, it's just…..it feels kind of selfish." she explained. Mako tilted his head as she looked down at her hands folded in front of her, "I mean, I can make things that some people can only dream up. Using it to just get rich seems kind of shellfish." she said, looking up at Mako from her hands.
He gently nodded, "I can understand that. You want to use it to help people."
The blonde felt a sense of relief brush over her, "Exactly! I mean, I don't have anything against those who want something else, but when I look at what other people have done? What my dad has done?" she asked rhetorically.
"You feel like you gotta live up to it." she heard Mako say unexpectedly, looking across the table she saw the sympathetic smile he had. "I get that. Believe me, I do." he laughed.
Melissa's lips curled understandingly as their food arrived, taking their respective plates, the support student glanced over to his plate and saw the grilled chicken he had ordered. She tittered when she saw his surprised expression on his face, "The reason I picked this place is because of how much of a selection it had, that way we could both enjoy our meals." she explained, holding up her sandwich she had ordered before taking a bite out of it.
As the two ate, Mako glanced around and saw many other students from Melissa's school enjoying a variety of meals, "Shield!" a voice rudely called out, across from him, Melissa's eyes widened before she swallowed, looking over her shoulder, Mako could visibly see her become instantly tired. Walking up to them was another student in a light brown suit and black tie, he had black hair that was combed back and went down to the back of his neck. He approached their table with a irritated look, "I saw that you have tomorrow in the robotics lab booked, I want it." he rudely stated to the blonde.
Mako frowned as he saw the irritated look that Melissa had, turning to the other student, he was about to speak before Melissa spoke, "Sinclair, that's not how it works. It's first come, first serve to the lab usage. I booked my time two weeks ago, I'm not going to just give my time up for you." she said firmly as she turned to look at him.
The young man, Sinclair, rolled his eyes, "That was before our idiotic professor said that my designs didn't fit the criteria for the assignment. So now I need to 'fix' what it's lacking." he said, using air quotes before leaning down and looking at Melissa directly, "Besides, we both know that my time is much more valuable than some slacker's." he chided, Mako felt the stinging pain that flashed across Melissa's face as well.
Oh screw this guy! He thought, "So you're calling her a slacker, even though you couldn't take what? Five minutes to show your professor what you had before turning it in?" he asked rhetorically, Sinclair snapped his attention to Mako who met him with a smug look.
"I'm sorry, who even are you?" he asked.
"A guy who somehow has better time management then someone who manages to go to school here." Mako replied with dry amusement.
The student's brows knitted together, "Oh, is this the whole, 'defending my woman's honor' thing? Because if so, you're making yourself seem more juvenile than charismatic." he retorted with a condescending tone.
Mako looked off to the side and shrugged, "No, this is more the 'Hey look at that guy, his name must be Roid.' "
Sinclair gave him a confused look, "Roid?" he asked in bafflement, "Are you….are you having a stroke?"
"No, as in you're a pain in the ass." Mako explained.
The sound of Melissa snorting beside him made Sinclair glare at him, "Oh very mature." he replied sarcastically before looking at Melissa who seemed more amused then hurt now. "Oh, of course you find that amusing." he said with a roll of his eyes.
"I do actually, but I'm also laughing because I just realized, because I'm NOT going to give my time up to you? You're probably going to be the only one in class who fails the assignment." she said, making his eyes widen. "So if I were you? I'd take his advice and stop slacking off….Roid." she mocked. Sinclair grit his teeth before sealing his lips closed and stomping off. When he was away, Mako and Melissa looked at each other before bursting into fits of laughter.
"-yeah mom, I'll be home in a hour or so. I'll see you when I get there….uh huh, love you too. Bye." Mako said to his mother across the phone as he walked Melissa back to her dorm. Looking over at her, she smiled sweetly as he pocketed his phone, "Sorry about that, but with my dad gone I didn't want to worry her." he admitted sheepishly.
Melissa nodded, "I understand…..is she worried about him?" she asked.
The hero student's shoulder's shrugged, "I don't know, I mean this isn't the worst. One time he was gone for two months because some asteroid was heading to the moon and he needed to divert it, and he ended up getting embedded into it." he recalled as he looked up at the dusk sky. He remembered that while he was worried sick, unable to sleep because he was scared his dad may never return, his mom was acting as though everything was normal. She told him that his dad was the best superhero in the world, and this wouldn't stop him.
What she didn't know was when he returned, he saw his mom crying in relief in the kitchen that night, "I think he'll be fine. Besides he's not alone, Rad Russian is with him." he said with a shrug before turning to Melissa, "But speaking of creepy guys who should probably wear a mask…." he trailed off.
Melissa snorted and shook her head, "D.A. Sinclair, he's here from America on a scholarship. He's a engineering genius, but when it comes to people? Well….you saw him back there." she said with a tired huff.
"D.A.? Is that just….what even is that? His initials? Who goes by just their initials?" he asked.
"D.A. Sinclair does, apparently." Melissa replied with a small smile, "Thanks for that back there, he got in my head for a moment there." she said gratefully.
Mako shrugged, "Can't just sit by and let people get away with talking crap like that. I mean, I'd like to have just thrown him into the ocean." he said, Melissa chuckling as they approached the dorms.
"Thank you for the restraint, but….well something he said back there I noticed." she said with a smirk directed at Mako. "When he said the whole, 'defending your woman's honor' thing-"
"Which what the hell?" he asked.
"-agreed, but again, genius does not mean people person." she reminded before getting back on task. "But what I noticed was….well you didn't really correct him." she observed, watching as the super powered teen became stiff as a board. Her smirk grew, "And then that made me realize, it must have looked like I took you out on a date to a restaurant tonight, but then I remembered you were the one who suggested it." she said as she walked ahead of him, her arms folded behind her back as they reached the front of the student dorms. She spun around on her heel and met Mako with knowing look, "You follow me?" she asked.
He nodded stiffly, "Y-yeah I can….see that…um….I'm sorry? For not clarifying it to him, I mean." he explained, taking the blonde by surprise. "I mean I actually did want to hang out with you but I mean…..well….you're really nice and….smart….and….other adjectives." he finished with a laugh that she shared with him before they settled into silence for a beat. "I'm sorry, I've never really done this before." he admitted, bowing his head bashfully.
He heard Melissa giggle, not in a teasing manner, but more amused, "It's fine….and to be honest? I had a lot of fun tonight." she shared, causing him to look up at the almost shy smile she had as she looked to her dorm. "So…..maybe next time, we're clear on it being a date?" she suggested before her phone beeped. Melissa however sighed before looking up at him apologetically, "Sorry Mako, but I got to get to bed, I got an early class tomorrow. But…..maybe when youget some free time, we can talk?" she suggested.
He nodded in disbelief, "Y-Yeah that sounds good! Great….yeah." he answered before chuckling to himself, "So um…goodnight." he said, the blonde giving him a heartfelt smile in return.
"Goodnight Mako." she said before walking up to the door of her dorm, reaching it, she looked back over her shoulder and shared one last smile with him before entering the building.
Mako immediately shot up off the ground and into the sky, his arms stretching up above his head in triumph! "WHOOOHOOOOOO!" he shouted at the top of his lungs to the empty sky.
Nolan's fist cracked into the skull of Rad Russian, the soviet superhero was sent flying through the wall of the crater which he had created in an attempt to kill the alien but to no avail. Nolan took a minute to catch his breath, his brow sweating from the heat that the radioactive hero had been producing for the past few weeks in an attempt to burn him. He was successful as the entire upper portion of his costume had burned away with some nasty burns on his arms and chest from where Russian had let out concentrated blasts of radiation on him.
The crater around them, once a city for Flaxan people, was already ruined from Nolan's assault on the people months ago. They hadn't even begun the reconstruction process when Rad Russian had set off his ultimate move, Nuclear Fire, and caused a low level Nuclear Detonation. Having caught his breath, Nolan too up to the air, the beard having grown out an wafting slightly as he flew towards the hero as he recovered, "You…..you can't kill me. I am Radiation. Pure Radiation. You cannot break me." the Russian said with a dry laugh in his voice, the glowing green skin around his eye peaking out from his broken helmet.
Nilan growled in frustration, shooting down at the hero, the Rad Russian threw his hands up and fired a blast of radiation directly at the Viltrumite. Nolan gritted his teeth as he felt his hands be burnt by the radiation, but kept his trajectory until he was within arm's reach and grabbed the Russian's hands before crushing them! "Your right." Nolan said as the Russian howled in pain, "I can't seem to kill you. Or rather if I do you simply regenerate over time." he said before kicking the Russian in the gut, making him fall onto his broken hands and knees. "But what you don't seem to understand is I don't have to kill you. I just need you off Earth." he explained before looking up at the orange sky.
"You probably noticed it when we were fighting them back on Earth, but these creatures? They age rapidly in our dimension, and given how little I've physically aged despite being here for almost a year. That lead me to believe that time moves slower here then on Earth." he theorized before looking down at the Rad Russian. "So I don't need to kill you, I just need to keep you here. Why do you think I brought you here? The capitol is on the other side of the planet and it's the only place to put you so you can die out on your own." he explained, causing the Russian's eyes to widen in horror. Before he could stop him, Omni Man took off to the sky and zoomed across the surface of the planet.
Within an a few hours, he was at the ruined capital city of the Flaxans, the alien species with their green skin and large black eyes working in the remains of their science center where a circular device was in the middle of their workstation. Upon seeing Omni Man hovering overhead menacingly, the group all quickly began working faster, as the portal opened up, Omni Man touched down and looked at the portal. Suddenly he zoomed across the lab o grab one of the scientists by the neck and flew over to the portal as the scientist struggled in his hand. He pushed the flaxen through the portal, he didn't feel any intense heat or cold on his hand as the Flaxan in his grasp clawed at his hands.
The Flaxan whose neck he held was still breathing, he could tell from the choked gasps he felt around his fingers, so it was on a habitable planet. However it wasn't until a few minutes later when the alien stopped moving and he pulled it back in that and Nolan saw his aged and wrinkled features did he see that it wasn't a trap. Dropping the alien at the foot of the teleporter, the others rushed over as Nolan flew up and away over towards the top side of a building that had toppled over. Grabbing it with both hands, he lifted the five stories above his head and flew up over where the portal to earth was before letting go and zooming down through the portal.
The Flaxan scientists looked up just in time to scream in horror as the debris crushed them and the only portal off the planet into oblivion.
AN: And there we go! Fan favorite Allen the Alien! I actually had to do a little bit of rewriting because of what got leaked for the next chapter of MHA, but it wasn't anything too major. Now then, onto reviews.
D3lph0xL0v3r: I know, Izuku didn't deserve any of the shit he got before he attended UA. And while it's not a problem, it's more like Izuku wouldn't be able to grow as a hero if he was helped with every accomplishment along the way. And I wouldn't exactly put Bakugo in that category, yes what he said is really awful but he has grown a lot since then.
Righteet: That's actually a really neat idea, as for Bakugo? Well there's a reason for it. Part of it is that Mako isn't, well, invincible, so explosions are gonna knock him around a little.
Maelstorm Resurrected: Yeah there's a reason for that, and they'll find out soon.
Kingbanana: Yeah honestly Viltrumites are not asthough as they first appear, I mean they can die in some pretty mundane ways if you think about it. I mean you could drown one of them if you could manage to pin them under water. Their insides are way more vulnerable then their outsides-you know what I'll- I'll get into it eventually.
Dark Thundercat: I sorta give a idea here with Rad Russian, while he in no way can physically beat Omni Man, his powers are that of radiation, he has the life force of radiation itself so he can't just be killed, he can only be slowed down. It depends on the powers, I mean what if he fought Fat Gum? He could probably take a couple punches and then dish a ultra powerful one back at him if he wanted to.
For'Sleepy: Sorry but it's a little hard to understand the first part of that review, I'm going to assume that you mean that humanity will just go to shit once they realize that Viltrumites will eventually come for them. Now that's a fair point, but they don't want to destroy the panet, they want to conquer it, and there's a specific reason as to why they do. And even then after….wahtever happens, MHA earth is Super advanced compared to ours and has countless heroes with an abundance of different powers.
But thank you for recognition, and I do see where your coming from. It's just it's never really brought up in Invincible so I sort of assume that people are somewhat just numb to it at that point.
Melie1234: That would be cool but I don't know if that would work, I mean Batman studied from across the world to become a vigilante, and even then he wouldn't exactly go to a hero school since he's working outside the law.
awesomerebel55: It's still early days for him.
Luke5921: Hey now those are all supporting charcters! XD
AwesomeMan327: There is a reason.
Iskandar Svengali: Well like I said here, he didn't really beat them. Yeah he won, but all he did was open up the other heroes to defeat them.
: Well…ok, Nolan is one of my favorite characters in the Invicible Comic, that's all I'm going to say.
Silber D. Wolf: Thanks!
thedark2: Well it's more like we never get a hard number, and the scene where we see him going SUPER fast is more stylistic, and given that it took him a half hour to get to Mark and Eve in the same show while flying at top speed tells me that he's not that fast.
Void is the Greatest: I mean I don't know what else to sayabout the strength because that's how it just is in the comics for a fact. And I've read though them, Mark never picks up a cruise liner so I don't know where you got that? As for the speed, that's true that they're fast but I also think that All Might is pretty fast as well. I mean he moves faster then some people are able to react during his fight with the Nomu.
