Invasion. Part 1

"Ok so they passed the vigilante act in but only after they had established their own privatized force of official heroes…..right?" Mako asked thirteen unsurely as he read over the tablet in his hands in the common area of the spaceship. The heroine nodded, "And the United States passed it in…..which state?" he asked himself, history wasn't always his favorite subject but when it was about something that he found interesting, he would find himself absorbed by it.

"Oh that's not important, it's just the fact that the bill was passed, and it led to other nations like Japan making their own laws regarding quirk usage." Thirteen explained. Mako nodding as he went back to his readings. For the past three days, Mako had been hard at work on schoolwork to make up for the days he was missing, with Thirteen acting as his tutor.

Three days in space and Mako had spent most of it reading…..to be honest it wasn't as exciting as he thought it would be. There weren't any windows on the ship outside of cockpit, the crew took care of all the duties to maintain the course, and contrary to their worries there had been no alien attacks on route to Mars. "Thirteen please stop reciting that, your giving me college flashbacks." Mako and the black hole user looked over to see a woman with green skin and short, dark hair floating by. Rey Trench was the crew's botanist, responsible for seeding trees on Mars that would eventually produce oxygen for small dome environment like the one on the moon.

Thirteen pointed at her, "He's still my student Rey, I can't let his studies fall behind just because he's in space."

Mako raised a hand from his seat at the table they were set up, "Actually this does make me wonder, if each country has it's own laws regarding quirks and we're out in space, doesn't that technically mean there's now laws about quirk using out here?" he asked as Brock walked into the common area.

Thirteen leaned over to the commander, "Brock, you want to answer that one?" she asked.

The captain chuckled, "Since the space program was reorganized to be under the GDA, we technically have the same privileges as active GDA agents with quirks that they think are useful." he explained. "Basically if your in space? It's open season, but considering how hard it is to get up here? No one's making any laws yet." he said.

"Wait is that why Cecil wanted me to fight Allen? It wasn't breaking any rules?" Mako asked Thirteen.

Rey looked at him curiously, "Whose Allen?"

"Oh he's an alien I fought, he thought he was going to this planet called Urath to evaluate their champion for a couple years but he didn't know it was Earth." he said, causing the two members of the crew to stare at him.

When Mako's face didn't break Brock spoke, "Oh my god you're not bullshitting."

"I'm an alien! Why do I have to keep saying that?" Mako asked Thirteen, who could only shrug in response. "Yes I fought an alien, he was a cool dude, he had one eye and was big." he said, feeling like he had explained this at least a half dozen times by now. "Anyway we're arriving today aren't we? Or is it even today?" he asked, the passage of time was taking some time to adjust to with how there was no sunrise or set to tell the difference of time.

"Today, and yes we are. Within the next hour." Brock said, pointing back to the cockpit with his thumb. "The big red planet is closing in. I tell ya this ship is a wonder. Mars in three days? I remember reading about how in the old days it would have taken half a year." he said as he slid down into a seat next to Thirteen while Rey opted to float nearby.

Mako turned off the tablet he was using and set it into place on the table where a small compartment for it was located, "I've been wondering something actually, we got a ton of Robots that could probably make a small settlement on Mars in like a week or something, why do they need you guys to do that?" he asked curiously, thinking back to the drones that Robot himself used. Those things could probably have piloted the rocket themselves and built a city in a month if he packed enough of them in here.

Thirteen raised a finger, "That's an easy one, due to how long it takes signals from Earth to reach Mars? Drones aren't nearly reliable enough to do anything out here." she explained. "On Earth there's dozens of satellites that orbit the planet that help carry signals across it, but that's around a planet that's not nearly the length of one planet to another." she explained to Mako who nodded in understanding.

"So if something bad happens out here…" he trailed off.

"It'd take ten minutes for an S.O.S to reach Earth. And a couple months for them to get something in order to come help us. So please, don't like….blow up our ship or anything." Rey said.

On the outer hull of the spacecraft, Mako sat as they slowly began to approach Mars. However the teen had much more pressing matters on his mind at the moment. Aw yeah, lunch time! he thought hungerly as he reached into his lunch bag he had brought from inside the ship, opening it up he reached in and pulled out the sandwich he had made in the common aera of the ship. He had been sure to put it in a bag and in his box before coming out into space so that he wouldn't lose it when the hanger depressurized.

Tapping the side of his helmet, his face shield slid up, he took a bite of his sandwich…only to have it shatter apart from the freezing temperatures of space. Oh…..oh no….my sandwich….Well this sucks! he thought, pouting to himself as he closed his face shield. "Well thank god no one saw that." he said, brushing the crumbs off into space.

Suddenly his radio chimed on, 'Actually Mako we all saw that.' Thirteen's amused voice said over the radio.

"Oh come on!" he exclaimed.

'Aw don't feel bad kid, you just answered a question we've had for decades, can you eat anything in space? Turns out you can't.' Brock said jokingly. 'Mako I'd apricate it if you were outside when we enter atmosphere, this is the first time we've had an aircraft land on another planet and having you out there as a safety net would be apricated.' he said over the radio. The Viltrumite rolled his eyes as he pushed off from the ship as it prepared for entry into the planet's atmosphere, while Space exploration wasn't the forefront of the world like it used to be, it didn't mean that everyone just forgot how dangerous it could be.

Minutes later, Mako flew out from underneath the ship, and saw the big red planet for himself, the red orb's poles capped with ice on each end. Invincible coasted towards the new planet with wide eyes underneath his helmet, Woah…man this is cool. he thought with a grin as he flew after the shuttle. Keeping a good distance away from the craft, he watched was it descended through the atmosphere, "Everything good in there?" Mako asked into his radio as he flew after the ship.

"We're good on our decent Invincible, our approach is within our calculations and we should have touchdown in a few minutes." Brock replied as the spaceship coasted into the atmosphere. Unlike spaceships of the past, this rocket had been designed to land and take off from the surface of the planet, but without a runway to land on they had installed vertical takeoff and landing rockets on the underside of the ship to keep it in the air while it burned off the momentum from it's curved decent onto the planet.

When the surface of the planet came into view, Mako readied himself to spring into action at any moment, Thirteen had told him of the possible maneuvers he might need to preform if the ship ran into any issues. Ok the VTOL rockets are working, there doesn't look to be anything in their path, should be a straight shot to the landing area. he thought as he flew ahead of the ship and down towards the surface of the planet.

Invincible glided over the ground as the spaceship landed, it's thrusters kicking up the soil as it's legs extended out, Mako watched as it gently touched down on the ground at the same time he did. He watched as the bay door opened to the ship, thirteen dropping from the aircraft and looking around in amazement through her helmet, "Pretty cool huh?" Mako asked her.

Thirteen chuckled, "Yeah, it is…..first person on mars…" she laughed to herself.

Invincible looked around the surrounding area, he was on another planet, and while the scenery wasn't as alien as that might have implied, that fact alone still left him awestruck. "It's like…..leaving your block for the first time." he said, Thirteen looked at him, making him chuckle at his own expense, "Sorry that sounds dumb." he said.

She shook her head, "No I understand it's that but a hundred times more exciting." she replied understandingly as the rest of the crew descended in a lift with a large rover. "…..Thank you for taking this mission Mako." she said.

Mako turned to her in surprise, "What? Why?" he asked.

He couldn't see Thirteen's face behind her helmet, but the way her eyes squinted told him that she was smiling, "Because I always wanted to share this with my students." she replied, making him smile in appreciation. As Thirteen walked over to the crew, Mako knelt down and looked at the ground, running his fingertips along the soil he could feel a slight difference between it and the rockier surfaces of the Earth he had interacted with. Picking up a rock, he lifted it up and ran his thumb across the stone with a smile.

A souvenir for the trip. He thought as he slipped it back into his pocket of his suit, brushing against his phone he pulled it out and turned to the crew, "Hey guys? Want a quick photo op?" he asked, waving his phone.

After a few pictures, which Mako promised to send copies to the crew, the team began their work of setting up a base. First step was setting up the base camp that they would be using for the next few days, containing its own oxygen supply along with the amenities that were on the ship for the crew. It would be used as a forward operating base for the next few days while the colony was established, the schedule for the first day was laying the foundation. Which meant putting Mako and Brock to work uprooting the ground, "Alright Invincible keep at your current pace." Brock said as Mako used his strength and flight to uproot the ground around the area where the base would be, Brock meanwhile using his own quirk in conjunction with Mako's targeted plowing to in essence pull out the space of ground where their base would go, sending it into a massive pile which Thirteen was using her won quirk to clean up.

When Mako breached through the ground to where he began, he flew up and over to his teacher as she disposed of the remaining debris. The sight of the ground condensing into her unplugged fingertips reminiscent of a vacuum cleaner sucking up dirt. "Alright so we cleared the space, what's next?" he asked his teacher as she used her other arm to support the one that was working.

"Next we need to lay down the foundation, Mirasai will take care of that with her magnetism. But for now I think your fine to take a break." Thirteen explained as she finished up with clearing debris. Snapping the fingertips of her gloves back into place to seal her suit again, "But if you want something to do, we do need to get our antenna to get communications going with the moon base and Earth. Sooner we do that the faster our communication will be." she suggested.

Mako nodded and took off from the ground over to where the base of the tower was being set up by two more astronauts, "Hey guys! Need a hand?" Mako asked.

The astronauts look up in time to see Invincible speared through the air by a human sized rocket. take him through a rocky hillside.

Mako skipped across the surface of Mars, his hands raising up and cradling his helmet so it wouldn't break apart and expel the only source of oxygen he had. When he rolled onto his front, he pushed off and flipped onto his feet, grinding against the ground as he dug his heels into a stop. Looking up, he saw his attacker land on the ground a few feet away from him, they looked humanoid based with two legs and arms with a head, but a body covered with metal. It pointed at him, "Holy shit are you a Martian?!" Mako barked out.

The attacker didn't respond, and instead tilted its head, Invincible raised his fists in front of him, "Look pal I just tore up a bunch of robots last week you don't want to do this." he threatened. Alright, plan was that if there's any trouble to get the astronauts out of here and high tail it back to Earth. Easy. Mako thought before his attacker raised his hands. The forearm section of the armored attacker extended up with a heavy cannon charging a purple energy that was aimed at Invincible. "…Or not!" Mako said before shooting up into the air as the attacker fired at him.

The attacker's boots ignited and blasted off the ground, Invincible looked down to see his attacker in pursuit of him, stopping abruptly in midair, he clasped his hands together and brought them down into the head of his foe, the metal slightly denting from the impact as the attacker spiraled down through the air out of control. 'Mako what's happening?!' Thirteen's voice asked over the radio.

"Got attacked by an alien, get the astronauts to the ship and tell them to take off. I'll join you guys in space after I lose this guy or beat him." he said as the enemy recovered, his helmet repairing itself before blasting up through the air at Invincible. From his shoulders extended rectangular cases with holes, small but numerous rockets shot out from the holes at their target who promptly took off through the air. Shooting through the skyline he looked back over his shoulder to see the rockets and his attacker still pursuing him, Heat seekers, perfect. Mako thought sarcastically.

'What!? No, Mako I won't leave you here. I have a better idea, lead the fight to me and we can both take this villain down.' she reasoned to him as the student shot down towards the surface of mars, skimming across the ground with a few rockets impacting the surface. 'Wait-damnit! He's not alone, I have another enemy here!'

"Damn! Ok, what do we do then?" he asked, banking around a rock formation that lost a few more of the pursuing rockets.

'The Astronauts leave without us. We stay behind and make sure these enemies don't harm them. Worst case you can fly us up and rendezvous with them in space once we establish communication with them again. Mako if your helmet is breached, you go with them. Understand?' she replied sternly. Invincible was taken off guard by her instruction however, all the oxygen they had was on the ship, if he left without her then….

"It won't come to that." he said, resolving then and there that even if his helmet was broken he wouldn't leave his teacher to die on this planet. Turning around, he saw only four small missiles left, not nearly enough to put up a wall between him and his pursuer like the dozen he had fired before had. He shot back towards his attacker through a gap in the missiles, slamming into the metal machine and grabbing him by the collar of his suit while his other fist reeled back and began punching into the armor.

"You want to blast me to bits, fine. Know what that tells me? You don't know how to get up close and personal!" Invincible deduced as he slammed his fist into the head of the attacker over and over again, each punch making the helmet dent inward. The attacker raised its arm with the cannon, Invincible braced his arm against the attacker's as he tried to aim it at his head, the purple energy blast just barely missing his helmet as his opponent fired.

The booster on his left foot increased, slamming his knee into the Viltrumite's gut and making him stagger along enough for him to land a jab which he followed up with a backhand that sent the alien back through the air a few feet, as he held his helmet and made sure there was no damage to it. The armored attacker basted him with energy that hit him dead on in the chest and sending him down to the surface of the planet.

As Invincible was about to shoot back up into the air however a blast on the ground in front of him made him halt, looking up he saw his attacker looking don, on both his arms were a number of armaments as well as the missile launchers on his shoulders, along with a glowing orb that was gathering in his chest between two small triangular pilons.

The message was clear, stay down.

Invincible frowned before blasting off the ground faster then his attacker could react, uppercutting him into the sky and making all his armaments fire off into every direction but the teen hero's. He quickly flew up, following up with cross that sent him further through the air, while there was no question that his opponent had more firepower then Mako, that he clearly didn't have the speed that Mako did.

Invincible flew after him as his attacker flipped through the air, trying to recover with it's jet boots to orient itself. Invincible grabbed the leg and began to apply pressure to the booster that made it sputter and die out before Mako threw him back down to Mars. The armored attacker's impact upon the ground made a small crater with the metallic body in the center, slowly getting up before Invisible's foot pinned his chest to the ground. "Look you gave me a break before to surrender before, so I'm going to do the same here. Stay down, before I send you to the scrap heap." Invincible said firmly.

The robot's head tilted at him questioning, his head lifting up and down as though he was talking, Mako stared down with his head tilted curiously to the side, "What are, look can you just…" he began before he realized what the problem was.

This entire fight he had been speaking to someone in a helmet…..the only reason he was able to talk with Thirteen or anyone else was because they were on the same radio channel! "Oh my god I can't believe this happened again." Mako asked, facepalming against his helmet before tapping the side. "Thirteen are you there?" he asked.

'Still here Mako, the crew is on the ship and my Black Hole quirk is making the other attacker keep his distance, where are you?' she asked.

"I don't know, look, what's our comm frequency?" he asked, looking down at his opponent before stepping off him and offering a hand. His attacker looked at him, then his outstretched hand, clearly recognizing the universal gesture for help.

'What's our-? Mako you know this! We went over this in the briefing this morning!' she reprimanded.

"No, YOU went over it in the briefing this morning while you had me studying hero history. I think this is just a big misunderstanding." he explained.

Thirteen was quiet for a moment as she seemed to contemplate his proposal, 'That might just be, it's 114.97 F.M.' she said. Invincible knelt down to the ground and with his finger, doodled the digits in the dirt with his hand as the attacker stood up on his own. Looking down at the dirt he saw the numbers scratched into the ground, Invincible pointed to them and then to the side of his helmet to try and silently convey his message of communication. The armored attacker stood pondering for a moment before his eyes widened in recognition, tapping the side of his head there was a brief static in Mako's ear before he heard it.

"Um, hello? Testing, testing 1, 2, 3?" a young voice in English asked.

Mako breathed out in relief, "Oh thank goodness, wait. You speak English?" he asked in confusion. He understood that Allen was able to communicate with him through telepathy, but he didn't expect an alien to be able to talk to him in his second language.

The armored attacker tilted his head, "Uh yeah? How do you know what English is?"

"It's my second language, but wait…what are you? A Martian?" he asked.

The armored attacker balked at him, "What?! No I'm from Earth." he said before shaking his head, "Wait what are you even-you're a Viltrumite! Why are you even talking to me? Shouldn't you be trying to….I don't know, kill me?" he asked. Mako felt the urge to facepalm, of course since there were Viltrumites taking over the galaxy, other species would see him as a threat.

"Ok I can…..see the train of thought behind that. Alright before we continue, one of your friends is attacking our astronauts so maybe you could call him off?" he asked, recalling that Thirteen told him of another attacker.

"Oh! Those are Earthlings!? On Mars?" he asked.

"Didn't you say you were from Earth?" Invincible asked, crossing his arms across his chest with a tilt of his head.

"Yeah it's just….I've been gone for the past few months." the armored earthing admitted with a forlorn tone. "But yeah, hang on. Kanda? Hey hold back alright. This might just be a big misunderstanding." he said on a private channel that Mako couldn't hear over the radio. They waited a few seconds before he nodded, "Ok, he's pulling back. Oh yeah, I'm Zack by the way." he introduced, raising his hand which Invincible shook.

"Mako. Sorry for uhh…you know. Almost crushing you." he said awkwardly.

"No that was my fault, our people said that they detected a Viltrumite here and well with Earth so close…..I assumed the worst." he admitted. Mako frowned at the thought, "Look, maybe we should talk and straighten this whole thing out?" he offered.

Mako smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I'll take that over fighting…um….do you happen to know which way my camp is?" he asked, looking around to see that they had fought to a barren part of the planet…..which basically meant 99% of the planet.

Flying back to the base site with Zack, Mako found another being wearing the same armor that the human wore only instead of stained steel color to his suit, his was brown and orange with the same overall design as Zack's. Thirteen stood in front of the other armored humanoid, the astronauts nowhere to be seen, "Kanda! Hey!" Zack called out as he flew down with Invincible behind him, as soon as he saw the yellow and blue costumed hero, he was on guard. "Woah! Dude relax, we talked it out. You might hear what he has to say." Zack said as he waved his hands dismissively.

Mako floated over to Thirteen, "Are you ok?" he asked with concern for his teacher. The space hero's suit was somewhat scuffed up in a few places but aside from the surface damage, she seemed perfectly fine.

"I'm fine, you're the one who got sucker punched." she replied, the teen Viltrumite shrugged with a smirk. She looked back to the other inhabitants of the red planet, their heads bobbing as they talked on what seemed like a private channel. "You said that Zack was from earth correct?" she asked. Mako nodded as she cupped the lower part of her helmet thoughtfully, "We should keep our eyes out, we don't know exactly what the situation is here." she said cautiously. "The fact that they speak Japanese through their suits is concerning."

Mako tilted his head, "Really? How?" he asked.

"Well if the suit can decern different languages that means it has intelligence, meaning it might not even have someone inside it." she reasoned, watching as the two other fighters' silent conversation suddenly became more animated as Zack's shoulders slouched and he facepalmed.

The orange one, Kanda, turned and approached the two, "Forgive me for my transgression, when we saw a Viltrumite accompanying you and your people we assumed the worst." he said apologetically. He glanced at Mako who waved his hand dismissively, "Zack has explained the situation to me and I believe we owe you an explanation. Let us take you to our leader." Mako chortled as Zack snickered, Kanda looking between the both of them, "What? Did I mispronounce the wording?" he asked.

Zack shook his head, "No, no just an Earth joke." he explained.

Mako looked over at Thirteen, the heroine nodding in agreement, "We'll meet with your people. But I hope you can explain some things on the way." she said.

Zack nodded, "Of course…er, Ma'am, sorry again for the whole attacking thing." he said awkwardly as Mako looped his arms under Thirteen's and lifted her up into the air as he flew after Zack and Kanda who ignited their thrusters to blast up off into the sky.

"Well first question, how'd you even know I was a Viltrumite?" Mako asked as he followed the two through the air. "I mean I look human."

"And that is precisely why. Viltrumites do as well, and your lack of a protective suit made me conclude that you were a Viltrumite." Kanda explained.

Thirteen hummed, "Well that makes sense. Is that why when you attacked me you didn't try and harm the astronauts?" she asked curiously, "You thought they were prisoners?"

Kanda nodded, "Indeed, I see you are aware of the Viltrumite ways. Which begs the question," he said as he turned back to look at Mako, "How are we sure that you are not working with them?"

Zack turned to his partner, "Kanda I told you, he gave me a chance to talk, when was the last time you ever heard a Viltrumite do that?" he asked. His partner was quiet as Zack looked back, his helmet unable to convey the apologetic tone that his voice had, "Sorry, we're kind of on edge."

Invincible shook his head, "No I get it. And look the reason I know about Viltrumites is-"

(One explanation of Invincible's Origin Story later.)

"-and then he left. I haven't seen him or heard anything about him since." Mako explained as the group flew across the red planet to a gigantic gorge. It was as through the grand canyon of earth was but a crack in the sidewalk compared to how wide and deep this separation of the ground was. And down at the bottom of the trench, Invincible could see a large ship parked on the ground of the canyon, it was large and bulky in design.

At the rear of the ship were a pair of large thrusters that looked to be the size of a baseball field each, the overall size of the ship made the one that Mako had been in on his way to Mars look tiny in comparison. "Holy crap…" Mako muttered as they flew around to the front of the ship. Setting Thirteen on the ground, Mako landed beside her and watched as the inclined section of the ship's front folded down into a ramp with a field of blue aura boxing it off.

"It's an atmosphere containment field. Let's us breathe inside the it. Thankfully Geldarians breathe the same amount of air that we do. Zack explained as he and Kanda led the two heroes up the ramp and onto the ship. Passing through the field, the helmet around Zack's head folded away to reveal a young teenage human beneath it. He turned back and smiled at them his short black hair standing out against his fair skin, Kaneda did the same, only underneath the armor was not something completely human but distinctly alien, his skin was a shade of green and had darker pores on the sides of his face similar to that of a frog on earth. There was no hair on top of his head but had a black goatee around his mouth.

Further up the ramp, another pair of Geldarians in their armor flanked either side of another unarmored pair, both of which wore extravagant clothing dictating their status. One of them was female with ginger hair that looked at Zack with a relieved smile, she wore a turquoise dress that covered her from the neck down with her arms bare, her hair tied back in a decorative bun with a matching headdress crowning her forehead that had silver wings on the side of her head, and orange spots on her cheeks.

The man beside her had similar spots on his cheeks and wore a silver helm atop his head with crimson drapes around his head save for the face. "Zack, Kaneda, these are the two whom you spoke of?" he asked as Thirteen and Invincible both removed their helmets as a show of respect. Mako did a double take when he saw his teacher remove her helmet and show the human face of a young adult woman with dark hair.

She looked at him, "What?" she asked.

"I don't know I just….with your quirk and all I thought that you were just like….a black hole under there." he explained sheepishly.

Thirteen sighed to herself, "I need to make this helmet see through." she said under her breath as Zach approached the leader of the alien people.

Zack nodded, "Yes sir, these are the heroes Invincible and Thirteen from Earth, they came here with an exploratory spaceship to establish an outpost on this planet for their people." he explained as he gestured to the Viltrumite and Earthing who both bowed their heads respectfully.

The emperor nodded in understanding, "I see, please forgive us for our aggression. My people have been evading our enemy for some time now. And when we picked up a ship landing here we feared the worst." he explained. He raised his hand to the young woman beside him, "This is my daughter, Princess Lin, she has been in charge of organizing our security." he said as his daughter stepped forward and bowed her head slightly.

Thirteen raised her hand, "It's an honor to meet you both, but I'm hoping that you can answer some questions that we have." she greeted.

Princess Lin and her father looked to each other before nodding, "Of course, please, follow us inside." she said, gesturing back into the ship. Invincible and Thirteen spared a look to each other as well, everything seemed to be on the up and up like Zack had said, but their guard wasn't going to go down easily. Following the ruler and his daughter into the ship, they walked through a large doorway leading to the center of the ship, Mako and Thirteen were taken aback by what they saw.

The entire compartment they were in was a makeshift sickbay, with dozens of people lining the walls in beds with various injuries. "What….what happened?" Mako asked as he walked down the hall with the others.

The emperor sighed, "Our home planet was besieged by our enemy, the Kresh." he explained. "The Kresh have long been envious of our people for our advanced technology." he explained as they moved past the sick bay into another corridor that acted as an elevator that lifted them up to the next level, stepping out they were met by a less shocking sight of Geldarians going about their routines, some of them stopping to stare at their visitors in wonder. "We have been warring with them for decades now, but recently they besieged our planet, forcing me and my people to flee. This is all that's left of us."

Invincible blinked, "This entire ship?" he asked.

Zack frowned, "There were others but….well, ok it's kind of a long story. How about I start from the beginning?" he asked.

Thirteen with a forlorn look nodded, "Please do, I'm curious as to how a human came into contact with these people." she asked.

"Alright so about six months ago, the Geldarians sent a scouting ship into our solar system to look for allies against the Kresh. They were met by a Kresh patrol and had to fight. They won, but their ship was damaged and they crash landed on Earth." Zack began to explain. "I was close by when it happened, I went to investigate and when I came upon the wreckage, one of the people survived. Along with Tech Jacket." he explained, gesturing to the armor he was wearing.

"Wait so he just gave it to you?" Mako asked skeptically.

Zack shook his head, "It's not that simple, see the Kresh want Galderian tech, and usually the protocol is to destroy the Tech Jacket along with the wearer. But when he saw me…and the ship that was going to explode….." he trailed off sadly. Princess Lin's hand brushed against his shoulder comfortingly, "He gave me the Tech Jacket so that I'd live. And keep it out of enemy hands." he explained.

Thirteen pursed her lips together, "Why didn't you tell any heroes about this?" she asked.

Zack threw his hands up, "Who would believe me? I mean my quirk is machine manipulation so they'd probably think it was some sort of prank or something. Besides, I didn't really have long before other Galderians showed up and thought I stole it, took me to their planet to face judgement, and be executed." he said, smirking as he gave Kanda a sly smirk.

His friend sighed, "You won't let me live that down will you?"

Zack chuckled, "We fought some Kresh on the way back, so they decided to hear me out. And I've been helping them wage war on the Kresh ever since." he explained.

Thirteen balked at that before turning to the emperor with a harsh expression, "You enlisted a child that you kidnapped into your fight?!" she asked severely. "How do you have any right to-" she began before Zack's hands flew up.

"Woah! No, they gave me a choice to leave but….well I was sort of the key to this." he explained sheepishly as Lin stepped forward.

"What he means to say is, due to his human biology, the Tech Jacket augments his strength to be far greater than any one of our soldiers. His participation in our battles had turned the tide of the war." Lin said, looking over her shoulder and smiling at the young human who blushed at the praise she gave him. "And even more so with his power that allows him to interface with machinery."

Mako tilted his head, "Wait a minute, if you were winning the war, then what happened to make you flee your home planet?" he asked.

The emperor looked at his daughter and Kanda with a forlorn expression, "Then the Viltrumites became involved."

Mako felt his chest tighten, "The Viltrumites command the Kresh, they are the ones who granted them the technology to survive after their own planet was destroyed by their own machinations. They don't have solid bodies, but are gaseous in nature. The Viltrumites provided them with power suits giving them armaments and abilities. When they heard that we were pushing back, they sent one warrior to conquer our planet. We fled as he wrought destruction upon our world." the emperor said with heartbreak.

Mako swallowed thickly, he had known from his father that the Viltrumite took over planets, but forcing people to fight for them? "That's why he wanted Earth. With all the quirks that people have. The Viltrumites could take over the galaxy." he realized.

Zack nodded, "Yeah. That's what we figured as well. The Viltrumite stayed behind, but the Kresh followed us…..I was about to head to Earth to ask for help in a few days." he explained.

Thirteen's face became pensive, "Your highness, I am sorry for your loss and I feel for you. But you're asking us to become involved in a galactic conflict, our planet isn't even unified as a governing body, it's…." she shook her head.

Lin's expression turned firm, "Zack has told us of your planet, how it is a world full of heroes who stand up against injustice. How is this any different?" she asked critically.

Thirteen looked down, "It's different because we must defend our people, people who aren't able to fight, from danger. And you're asking us to join you in a fight that could envelop the whole planet. You're asking us to fight your battle." she reasoned.

Mako was silent the entire time, looking between Thirteen, Zack, and the Geldarians, "…how many forces of the Kresh are there?" he asked.

Thirteen turned to him, "Mako-"

"Hear me out here." he asked her before turning to Zack, "Like is this like a whole fleet or what?" he asked.

"Oh it's one ship, I managed to take out most of them on the last mission before we had to evac the planet." Zack explained as he crossed hi arms. "The problem is there's only a handful of us that have functioning Tech Jackets, they have a full battalion of warriors." he explained.

Mako nodded in understanding, "Ok and you said that because he's human and has a quirk, er-power, is the reason why you guys fought them back so easily?" he asked, making sure that he had his facts straight.

"I mean I'm augmented by the Tech Jacket." Zack said, gesturing to his armor. "But yeah, Geldarians are…um, no offense your highness, they aren't the most durable species apparently." he said with an apologetic expression directed at the emperor.

"No it's a fact, our planet has a lesser gravitational field then that of earth's, making our bodies not as dense as humans." the ruler replied in more detail.

Thirteen looked at her student curiously, "Mako where are you going with this?" she asked.

"I'm thinking that if we could get the drop on the Kresh, we could take them out. Make sure they can't retreat and we don't get pulled into anything." he reasoned. His teacher gave him a firm look of silence, the student turned to her, "Look I get it, you can't speak on behalf of Mankind obviously, but we're heroes, and you know what I spent this morning doing? Reading about how back when people were doing horrible things to others, the people who stepped in and stopped it? Those were heroes, how is this any different? These people need our help." he replied.

Thirteen stared at Mako, she took a deep breath before sighing, "We'll have to contact our people, our governments. See if they can do something. I can't promise anything but…." her eyes looked up from the ground to the aliens. "My student is right, we're heroes. If you're in trouble, it's our job to help." she said, making Lin and her father smile in gratitude.

After returning from he Geldarian ship with Zack to the outpost, the astronauts where informed of the situation and the goal was clear. Get communication with Earth set up ASAP. "Thanks for all of this." Zack said to Invincible as the two helped align the tower while one of the astronauts set up the support lines to the ground below.

Invincible looked over at him, his face unreadable through his helmet, but he could tell that the other teen was relieved from the tone of his voice. "Yeah, well don't thank me yet, nobody has said 'yes' yet." he said, looking down at Thirteen who was getting the communications relay equipment set up. "But look if things don't go your way? I'll still help you, regardless of what my boss says about it." he said.

"Really?" Zack asked, "I mean thank you but I mean….why? I mean I get that you want to help being a hero and all but…." he trailed off.

Mako looked down at the ground below them, "I mean you said it yourself, the Viltrumites are the ones sponsoring these Kresh guys. I just…" he sighed, "Truth is, I don't feel responsible for what my race of people does, but my dad….well he believed all of it enough to betray everyone for it. I feel like if I do nothing it's like….admitting that he's right." he said before smiling bitterly. "That doesn't make sense, does it?"

Zack shrugged, "Eh, it sort of does. From what you told me though your dad seemed kind of more….well, brainwashed. I don't know, I've heard about the Viltrumites before but you're the first one I've ever really met." he explained. "I think he believed what they told him to, doesn't make it true. I mean All Might gave the guy a run for his money." he reasoned. Mako smiled and nodded, "Still can't believe he's a teacher now. I mean I'm from the states but everyone knows about him. How is he as a teacher?"

Mako paused, "…..Uhhhhhhhhhhhh." he drawled out.

"Zack!" The two looked over to see Kanda rocketing over to them.

"Oh than god." Mako muttered under his breath as Kanda slowed to a stop.

"Kanda what's wrong?" Zack asked.

"We need to move now!" Kanda said before shooting up into the sky, Mako and Zack looked at one another before flying up after him, "When we picked up the Earthing ship in orbit around the planet we thought that it was a scout ship due to it's size. But we thought it was part of a larger ship!" he explained.

Mako did a double take, "Larger ship? Why would you think-" he began as they burst through the clouds, "-Oh…..shit, that's why." he said, looking up at a colossal starship that was in orbit of Mars.

They were too late, the Kresh were already in the solar system.

AN: Ok yeah it's been a month since the last update, I'm sorry it's taken so long but the past month has been a bit…well it's been busy. First it was my birthday. Which I then got a stomach flu which took me out of commission for a week, I also had to get to work on the game that we're creating for my class and getting ready to present that at the end of this week, and then there was a couple books I got for my birthday that I've been reading through, and then I got into InuYasha (don't judge me I was bored and I was wondering what the big deal was), and then I started working on resumes for getting into the game industry as well as something to get some money for in the meantime-it's been a busy month. I'm also moving in three weeks to a new house so that's going to affect things, but I'll be out of school soon for summer so hopefully I'll be able to have more time to give you guys content!

But I took today to work on this because I've been meaning to get back to it, and when I saw that they started recording for Invincible season 2. It kicked me back into high gear. Now then, onto reviews!

D3lph0xL0v3r: Turns out neither! The Kresh do work for the Viltrumites though, that's something they didn't get into in the show yet, Viltrumites basically take over worlds and sub contract them to expand their empire for them.

Messiah of Authors: I'm 90% sure that it's intentional, and it's due to All Might. Since he's the pillar that everyone relies on, it's made heroes for the most part kind of lazy with how they fight crime. Because when things get serious they go, 'well all might will deal with it!' until he can't. And yeah the spidey fic is on hold, I'm honestly flipflopping between it and daredevil.

AwersomeRebel55: So help me god they shall meet Allen at some point!

Maelstrom Resurrected: I'm picking and choosing, I mean we don't see every day of U.A. life so there's obviously stuff to add, but there's also arcs of the Manga to consider and how they fit in. But yeah if I'm being honest I'll probably have to go beyond the story of MHA if I want to do everything.

MEALSO: No that's fair. I like Atom Eve and I love her and Mark together but I get what your saying. And No, Zack is American, but the suit is able to translate to Japanese for him. As for Melissa and the GDA thing, they're busy, I mean they're keeping track of the world and what's going on, they actually are the ones who make the machine in the comic but it's not until later on, and shortly after, Mark isn't able to use it due to reasons. And it's far from the most incedible scientific thing she's ever made, I mean it's basically just two huge magnets, it's a really simple idea just on a large scale. I think her nanotechnology is way more impressive.

Guest 2: Tech Jacket is basically if Green Lantern met Iron Man, only without the genius part of Tony.

Yo: I've considered that and I have reasons for why things will happen in the story. As for the Endavor thing, it's more that he recognizes that Todoroki has a strained relationship with his dad. I mean there's parallels in that Nolan told his son to his face that 'I can always make another offspring' just like how Todoroki was 'made' so his father could succeed All Might.

oh yeah and that announcement is pretty good!

And Mako may not go out saying that his dad is a monster and should be put down or anything, but he still recognizes that what his dad did was absolutely horrible. And they're both obsessed with strength, and that's obviously going to cause him to think about his dad who sees himself as above humanity because of his strength and power.

Sarcasm Sage 626: Yeah I really wanted to capture how scary the situation would be for Melissa, while at the same time not having her feel like a damsel in distress because she doesn't have a quirk. I had a whole other climax in mind involving the giant magnet that she and her dad made for Mako but the physics didn't work out for that.

As for power comparison with Izuku right now in the Manga? Compared to Mako, he's definitely stronger then him. Right now though, Mako is obviously stronger, but Izuku is also really smarter than Mako I think.

: Well Izuku does that, I think, because he cares about Bakugo and doesn't want to see him give up or be disheartened because he lost. I mean I also think that Bakugo was long overdue for a slice of humble pie but I also know what it's like when you work hard at something and then someone says 'Your not as good as you think you are.'

It's devastating, and to be clear I'm referring to something I've experienced in a professional capacity. But Bakugo deals with it in a good why by not being disheartened and continuing on…despite being an asshole still.

Guest 3: I'm sticking mainly with Invincible Universe characters, Spawn isn't going to just show up out of nowhere.

Poston: I mean I don't think there even are secret Identities in MHA because all heroes are government agents. As for Mako and Melissa…..I won't say anything yet.
