Invasion: Part 3
Ever since Omni Man's public betrayal of Earth, Aliens had become a hot button topic for the planet Earth. There were some who wanted nothing more than to lock the stars away, wash their hands of the entire thing out of fear. There were others who knew that one man couldn't speak for an entire frontier that humanity has yet to explore, but in spite of what both sides believed when word of an oncoming invasion from the stars reached their ears, everyone collectively agreed to defend themselves from it.
Cecil had devised a number of sub-terranean bunkers to contain thousands of people in the event of something like this…too bad that it was still four months from breaking ground. So in the interim between now and then, the GDA had drafted a set of guidelines to every Hero Agency across the globe on what to do in case of an extraterrestrial attack, similar to ones that are drafted up for natural disasters.
The parents of the class were understandably worried at first but a discussion with the principal about how the operation wouldn't even take place anywhere near ten thousand miles of the school, they were put at ease to let their children go through the drill. "Oh honey I love your new costume!" Inko gushed over her son who had come out of the school with the rest of class while the parents of all the students of the school waited outside on the school grounds.
Despite the situation, the atmosphere at the school with the student's parents were surprisingly calm, Lunch Rush had even set up a large BBQ for the parents of the students. "Ok this is not the vibe I was expecting at all when we learned that aliens were invading." Mina said as she saw her mom and dad talking with Kirishima, neither of which had red hair. The pink shinned girl looked over at the boy in question and gave him a grin. The hardening hero grimaced as he was reminded that she knew for a fact that he had dyed his hair before attending U.A., however the wink she provided assured him that his secret was safe.
Most of Class 1-A had gathered in front of the school with Aizawa, who seemed not at all pleased by the distraction of the students parents. "The reason for the atmosphere is to assure your parents, as well as all of you that it's going to be alright. The plan is taking place so far from the school that we won't be on the invader's radar in the slightest." he said, the message sent out to most of Japan the day before had said just as much. Cecil and Nezu devised a plan that would keep all civilians safe while Heroes engaged with the forces of the Kresh.
However as class 1A stood ready to lave to help evacuations, their missing member wasn't lost on them, "Hey uhh….is Mako's mom here?" Kaminari asked, "I mean do you think they have her somewhere else?" he asked.
Izuku shook his head, "No, she's here, me and my mom picked her up from her place….we didn't want her to be alone." he explained sadly. Sero and Shoji both gave the green haired teen a saddened look, everyone ha noticed how the often timid student of their class had been even more quiet then usual since his best friend was captured. Bakugo had also been strangely quiet as well, though only Kirishima had noticed his friend's silence considering that he tended to be…well, the exact opposite of that.
Jiro gave the green haired teen a pat on the shoulder, "Hey, don't sweat it green. Mako will be ok, the guy is literally the toughest guy any of us knows." she assured, trying to lit his spirts as Uraraka nodded beside her.
"Oi! What did you say!?" Bakugo barked out indignantly.
The sound user turned and gave him a look, "Did I stutter?"
Uraraka had to try and not laugh at the sound that Bakugo made that sounded like a combination of a guffaw and a growl, Izuku smiled a little bit a Jiro's reassurance while Kirishima turned to him, "Jiro's right man. I mean I'm tough but Mako? It's more than just physical man, guy can be stubborn as a mule when he wants."
Izuku actually chuckled, "Yeah, yeah he can." he agreed. Mako never had any trouble speaking his mind, and he proved that no matter what he went up against he wouldn't stop when he faced off his father. Izuku slapped the side of his face, Mako is putting his life on the line for the whole world and what am I doing? Just moping around? No! I gotta do my part too! he thought with conviction as he stood at attention while Aizawa walked to his students.
"Alright everyone, you have your assigned blocks, everyone pair up with your partner and proceede with evacuations." he said.
"Yes Sensei!" the class said unanimously before breaking off into their predesignated teams and walking out of the gates of the school.
Iida with Uraraka.
Kirishima with Bakugo.
Momo with Jiro.
Tokoyami with Asui.
Shoji with Mineta.
Mina with Sero.
Koda with Aoyama.
Ojiro and Toru.
Sato with Kaminari.
And finally…Izuku with Shoto.
It wasn't until the two were walking down the street alone together that Izuku realized something, Oh…..this is kind of awkward. he thought, recalling the last time he had a conversation with the ice and fire user was at the Sports Festival…..when he was yelling at him to use his quirk like it was his own. As they walked, the green haired teen glanced over at Todoroki and saw that he was looking at him, making Izuku quickly turn away.
"Midoriya-" Shoto began as Izuku began to internally panic.

"We should each take a side of the street, that way we cut down on the time to evacuate our block." he reasoned as they continued walking, the inheritor of One for All looking relieved as the pair continued on their course. "Also are you alright? You look very nervous….more so than usual." he noticed, causing the green haired teen to jump. If Todoroki could notice that something was bothering him then he MUST be showing it more than usual.
"N-no! I'm fine!" Izuku replied with a stutter, Todoroki stared at him blankly for a moment before turning away. "Um….Todoroki, sorry about….yelling at you during the Sports Festival." the teen apologized shyly.
"No need Midoriya. I needed to hear what you had to say." Shoto said, surprising Izuku with his response. "You were right, I wasn't being fair to anyone by just using my left side. Including myself." he said, looking down at both of his hands. "Mako actually tried to tell me the same thing, but I was so wrapped up in my own perception of my power that I just couldn't see it from his perspective. He had the same exact powers as his own father, and he didn't see them the same way that I saw mine." he explained.
Izuku was quiet as he considered Todoroki's words, the ice and fire user turned his had to his partner for the procedure, "When I see him next time, I should apologize for being so obtuse."
Izuku smiled as he nodded before looking up at the sky, Mako, I hope your ok.
God just kill me now. Mako thought to himself dryly as the Kresh Commander continued on with his boasting.
"How does it Feel Viltrumite? To see that all your efforts to stop us were in vain?" The commander asked as a holographic image of Earth projected itself in front of both him and Invincible who was still underneath the force of the gravitational field he had been put under to keep him prisoner. "You underestimated the Kresh as your people always do! Not only have we tracked the Geldarians to this planet, but we found a new world to conquer!"
"Yeah correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you fail to conquer the first planet that you tried that with? In fact didn't you come home crying to the Viltrumites to do your job for you?" Mako mocked, causing the Kresh Commander to growl in frustration as the teen leaned up on his forearms. Sliding his legs up, he tried standing up against the field but the force of gravity kept him in a kneeling position, "Ugh….ok not the most comfortable but it's better then the floor."
The commander and the rest of the Kresh in the room gave the gravity field a wide birth in response, "You-Bah! No matter! We have the Geldrain ship's location locked, and soon we'll find the Tech Jacket responsible for the desecration of our glorious empire!" he proclaimed proudly to his captive, who only stared at him through his goggles.
"I don't know if you can tell but I was just rolling my eyes." Invincible joked as the Commander left the room with a pair of soldiers, the doors closing behind him.
"Commander, is it wise to keep the Viltrumite here on the ship? Why not simply let him suffocate in the vacuum of space?" One of the soldier's asked.
The commander stopped and whirled around angerly, "And let the coldness of space take that victory from us as well?!" he growled out, "We almost had them, the Geldarians, but then they brought in their champion, this Tech Jacket unlike any other. And they turned the entire tide of the war with him! Bad enough that our empire is indebted to the Viltrumites, but the fact that they needed to send one of their own to deliver us our victory?" he growled out in shame and disgust.
The soldiers backed away in fear at the tone in their commander's voice, "No, we will finish what we began years ago. And then we will present the Viltrumites with their own failure, one of their own that has fallen from their ways. And show them that we aren't some….pets that they can sick on whomever they choose." the commander said before turning around and continuing his march down the hallway towards the elevator that led to the bridge of the ship.
The doors to the bridge opened and the commander strode out as the darkness of space began to become saturated in a blue color of Earth's atmosphere. "Helmsmen! Where's the location of the Geldarian ship?" the commander asked as he walked to the center of the command deck.
"Sir, we've located the ship on a small landmass of clustered islands. Far away from the closest native settlement." the helmsmen said as image came up on the screen of the ship in a large clearing. "Our ETA is within a few minutes, shall I scramble our troops?" he asked.
The commander paused before shaking his helm, "No, not yet. Our last encounter we relied too heavily on our troop numbers and lost too many as a result. Our own ship's weaponry will take out the ship, then our troops will sweep for stragglers. What do we know about the native population?" he asked.
One of the other troops turned to him, "From what our scans show us, they're solid based lifeforms that are eerily similar to the Viltrumites in terms of appearance for most of the population. There's dozens of their types of the population that seem to be somehow mutated."
"For slave labor?"
"Apparently not, they seem to be citizens."
"Then why have mutants in the first place?" the commander shook his head, "One matter at a time. First the Geldarians. Then these primitives. Their space stations don't even have defense platforms, what type of defense could these lesser lifeforms even-"
KRAKOOM!
The entire ship lurched off course from the sudden impact, the commander and crew on the bridge nearly falling over from the sudden shift of the spacecraft. "St-Status report!" the commander barked out as he recovered his balance as best he could in his suit of armor.
"There's massive amounts of damage to the side of our hull from a single point, it's breached! The hull's been-"
BOOM!
The ship lurched forward towards the planet, "Our engines have cut out! I'm activating the retrorockets! We all need to brace for impact!" the helmsman called out before hitting the alarm, sirens blaring throughout the spaceship as the remaining Kresh soldiers all went to their stations. In the holding area, Invincible's eyes darted around watching as his captors ran about trying to prepare for a crash landing.
"Be really nice if this stupid gravity thing failed right now!" he said out loud as he looked up at the source of the gravity well that he was pinned underneath. Hoping that with all the chaos of the ship crashing the power to his trap would cut out. However as the entire ship crashed into the deserted area, multiple systems crashing as a result of the impact of landing, the field holding Invincible held.
Outside the ship, a pair of yellow boots impacted the ground from his great leap into the sky, All Might looked over his handiwork from his initial attack on the spaceship. The ship's crash into the ground wasn't clean by any means, a good mile of a trench had been formed from the ship dragging along the ground with multiple smaller pieces of it falling off. The rear of the ship had smoke billowing out from the engines where a multitude of explosions had gone off. "Are you done showing off yet All Might?" a gruff voice behind him asked.
Looking over his shoulder the blonde symbol looked over the dozens upon dozen heroes from various agencies that had gathered after Cecil had put the call out. All the current top ten ranked heroes, along with the top 90 after them, along with their various sidekicks, had shown up to help contain the alien threat. "Oh lay off hothead, don't know what you could have done to get them out of the sky." Brit said as he walked over to All Might's size, the older hero wearing a costume that resembled a jumpsuit that was red and black in color, with the red collar sticking up around his neck.
Along with Brit was the other members of the Guardians of the Globe, Pegasus, La Bruiser, Bulletproof, Outrun, and Robot were all present. Beside the remote-controlled hero was a large, green skinned monstrous looking humanoid who was three times his size with a bald head, "Well what are we waiting for an invitation?" they asked in a deep voice as they cracked their knuckles.
Robot held up his hand, "Easy Monster Girl, we need to make sure that the satiation is contained." he said as he turned to Outrun and Bulletproof, "Make a perimeter, eight, no, ten miles in diameter around the crash and get a hero at least one mile between the other." he instructed. Outrun and Bulletproof nodded before each of them flying or running over to a hero and doing as they were told. He then turned to another air from the Guardians, one of them wore a navy blue and black tactical suit with a bulletproof vest and handguns strapped to his hips with a blue blindfold over his eyes known simply as Best Tiger, at his side was a tanned man with an orange domino mask with a matching orange a yellow costume known as Kaboomerang from Australia.
"Kaboomerang, Best Tiger, you two are on scouting duty. Infiltrate the ship, locate Invincible and free him, after that find a way to disable the ship. We cannot allow these Kresh the opportunity to retreat and regroup just to attack again." he explained to the heroes.
Kaboomerang lifted his hand up to his eyes and looked off in the distance to where the ship crashed, "Yeah no problem with that there mate, but little question, how are we going to get into that there ship undetected and whatnot?" he asked. As soon as the question left his mouth however, a shimmering doorway appeared before the two of them, "Ah, never mind then. Come on Tiger." he said as his friend loaded his weapons and nodded before running into the portal with Kaboomerang. As the portal closed, the heroes could see a large number of troops fly out from their ship towards the massive force of the heroes.
All Might's grin didn't falter as he bent his knees, "Robot I leave the strategy of this battle to you! Keep me updated once you find young Mako!" he said before launching off in a blur of speed from the ground into the main forces with Endeavor quickly flying after him with his flames propelling him through the air. All the other heroes followed All Might's lead as he blitzed through a platoon of the Kresh, his punches shattering their suits apart from their sheer force.
As Robot flew into the fray, shooting off concentrated plasma blasts at Kresh, he connected to Cecil, "Cecil This is Robot, the plan worked. They took the bait for the Geldarian ship and we intercepted with All Might." he relayed as he fell down from the sky, his feet crashing down onto one of the Kresh that was shooting at Monster Girl who had a handful on her while crushing two of them with her hands before throwing the others off her.
"Good, armed forces have encircled the area so even if any of them manage to get past your teams then we have another roadblock. Any word on Invincible?" Cecil asked over the radio.
"I just found his earpiece, one moment." he said as he leapt backwards over a Kresh who tried to fly into him from behind, "Invincible, this is Robot, can you hear me?" he asked as the Kresh who tried to attack him as blasted by Robot.
Inside the ship, Invincible smirked, "Robot! Man you're a voice for sore ears."
"That's not how that saying goes, but I apricate the sentiment. Are you unharmed?" he asked as the Viltrumite once again tried to push up against the gravity well. Only for one of the guards to zap him with their blasters and make him fall onto his hands and knees.
"Ngggh, yeah I'm good, these guys just have me pinned under some gravity thing, I can move a little but every time I stand up I get zapped for it." he growled out in annoyance as he looked up at his guards whose helmets were tilted to the side in confusion at the Viltrumite who seemed to be talking to himself. "I'm guessing that crash was the rescue party?" he asked.
"Indeed it was, as for being trapped that should be taken care of any moment now." Robot said a small silver boomerang sailed past one of the Kresh's heads and up into the Gravity generator before detonating and exploding, the weight that had been pushing Mako down for the last day and a half was off his shoulders and he was free to stand up.
Before the guards could react, a pair of gunshots rang out through the small room, the two guards fell over with Best Tiger having pointed a gun at each of them while Kaboomerang had another of his weapons at the ready to use. Th Australian looked over at hi friend with an unimpressed look, "Showoff." he chided before turning to the teen, "Invincible hey, Kaboomerang, and Best Tiger, here to save the day, blow up the ship, and not get our Kester's cooked doing it." he introduced.
Invincible nodded in appreciation, "Thanks for the rescue, how can I help?" he asked readily as he clasped his fist into his hand, ready to join the fight against his captors. The sound of the door sliding open behind him made him turn in place as a trio of Kresh fired at them. Invincible flew forward, swiping his fist through each of them before looking back to the pair.
"Just keep doing that until we find the part that explodes this ship." Kaboomerang said as he threw one of his projectiles that flew past Invincible's head down the hall towards another Kresh soldier. It hit the warrior sight in the head and exploded…..only to have little effect. "Oh bugger." the Australian grumbled as Best Tiger aimed his pistol and fired a single shot directly dead center at where the explosion impacted the alien's armor, causing the helmet to breach and the vapor form of the Kresh to explode out from the change in pressure.
Invincible blinked before looking at the blindfolded shooter, "Wha….how did you just…?"
"Aimed for most indented point of helmet from his explosion." Tiger swiftly explained as he charged past the teen who flew after him with Kaboomerang beside him.
Invincible looked at Kaboomerang in disbelief, he however looked unimpressed, "That's amazing!"
"I am not Amazing Tiger. I am Best Tiger." the blindfolded man said confidently as he continued through the spacecraft with the other two heroes following behind him.
Nezu and Cecil had kept their word to Zack and within an hour finishing explaining what happened to Mako's class, his parents were in the Principal's office waiting for him with tears in their eyes and open arms. After explaining the situation to his parents, he was met with a mixture of terror and overwhelming pride for their son and all that he's done to help the Geldarians. He had also asked Nezu to be allowed to oversee the battle between the Kresh and the heroes on account of his responsibility of them coming here to begin with. And he'd be lying if he said he wasn't happy to see Princess Lin…however he was currently second guessing himself as his mother and father were fawning over her and telling them all about Zack's childhood.
"-oh I swear the boy would run around the house naked when he was a baby, it was the cutest thing ever I swear." his mother said happily as Lin struggled to hold back her laughter. Zack was trying desperately to appear completely focused on the battle at hand….but he couldn't help but cringe at that little story being told to one of he most lovely girl's he's ever met in his life.
A large hand clasped his shoulder, he turned his head to his dad who could only shake his head in sympathy, "Let her have this, she's missed you." he said.
Zack sighed as he watched the TV that showed the battle from a distance, it was from one of the drones that the GDA had deployed to keep tabs on what was going on at the battle, "I Should be there, I mean it's my fault they're here to begin with." he said, his father looking at him with a soft expression.
"Hey, you did your part pal. You've been fighting these guys for how long now? Let the pros handle this part." he assured as his son watched the live feed.
"Your father is right Zack." He looked over his shoulder to Lin and saw her looking at him with a half smile, "We came here for aid and we've received it. Is it too hard to simply let others help? Especially when you asked them for it?" she asked rhetorically. The earthling felt his cheeks warm up at the teasing tone in her voice, missing how his mom smiled like a loon at his flustered expression.
"I know I just….I feel bad. Invincible helped us out when it looked like no one would and I just….ditched him." he admitted. He knew that Mako would be ok, the Kresh didn't even seem to have any weapons that could seriously hurt the Viltrumite, but he was still captured by them to help Zack and the Geldarians in their cause. How couldn't he feel at least a little at fault for that?
As he watched the screen showing the Kresh invaders being fought back by the heroes of Earth, it didn't change how he felt. He should be there, regardless of the dozen rules that said he shouldn't.
Mako plowed through Kresh solider in the way of him and his rescuers, "I think that most of them are outside, that's the first one we've come across since you guys sprung me." Invincible noticed as he flew down the hall to large door. Jamming his hands into the slit, he pushed it apart so that Best Tiger and Kaboomerang could enter before Invincible flew in after them. The trio found themselves in a observation room to what looked like a horizontal turbine with electricity sparking off of it.
"Well I ain't a specialist in all thing's extra terrestrial, but that there looks important right?" Kaboomerang asked as he turned to invincible.
The teen rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, sure does but I mean…..look if we blow this thing up, it's not gonna like, take out the whole island right?" he asked unsurely. Kaboomerang and Best Tiger looked at one another, both of them looking unsure, "Oh those expressions of yours are not the most reassuring!" Invincible proclaimed.
"Well we were told by Robot to disable the ship so…..hang on a tic." Kaboomerang said before reaching for the comm in his ear. "Robot? Kaboomerang here, yeah listen we found something that looks like the main power supply to this hunk of junk. We're ok to blow it yeah?" he asked before Robot replied to him. "Uh huh. Yeah…no he's here with us." he answered as Mako looked over to Best Tiger.
"You know I never realized how weird it is to see someone else take a call on these things." he said, pointing to his ear where his own communicator was located.
Kaboomerang nodded in confirmation, "Aright good news, we won't blow up Japan. Bad news, they need some backup outside. Kid, you go, me and Tiger got this." he informed as he reached down to his belt and pulled a few of his boomerangs out. Mako looked between him and the large turbine in the room that sparked out electricity with an unsure expression.
"You sure?" he asked, his voice not hiding the doubt he had.
Kaboomerang smirked, "Oi don't worry your head mate. Me quirk helps me steer these puppies and with me pal here? We'll be able to hit all of them soft spots it has." he assured, balancing one of his boomerangs over his fingers before flinging it up in the air and snatching it as it fell down. Invincible looked to Best Tiger who backed up his companion's words with a confident nod.
"Alright then, stay safe!" Mako said before taking off from the ground and blasting through the nearby wall with his fists stretched out to plow through the hull of the ship.
Best tiger removed a white, clay like explosive from his vest, "Well we have a quick exit once we arm these things." he said.
Invincible burst out through the side of the ship and was met with the sight of a massive battle, Kresh soldiers were flying around taking shots at heroes on the ground who returned fire with their powers or engaged in close combat using their quirks. "Geez!" he bemoaned as he flew across the battlefield, taking out any Kresh in the air as he zig zagged through the sky with him flying through any of the Aliens that he encountered. "Hey Robot, I'm here! Where do you need me?" he asked as he swung his fist back through the helmet of one of the Kresh.
"Invincible I need you with the main force, they're trying to make a push towards the north to break away, presumably to encircle around us from the outside." Robot explained over his comm. The Viltrumite turned North and saw a mass of the Kresh making their way towards a number of heroes who were on the backfoot, falling back into the surrounding forest for cover from their attacks. The Yellow and Blue costumed teen dove down towards them from above, impacting the ground and creating a shockwave that knocked all the soldiers of the Kresh off their feet.
Invincible skimmed over the field, swinging his foot through one of the Kresh and swinging himself around fully to elbow another one. "Seriously I need to have a talk with Zack about how much 'a Ship full' is not an accurate description!" he said, his fist going through another of the aliens before a hail of plasma rained down on his back. Gritting his teeth, he turned around with his arms raised up for protection to see a dozen of the Kresh shooting at him. Before he could push through the attack however, a powerful shockwave blasted them apart.
"Fear not my brave student! You are safe now, why? BECAUSE I AM HERE!" All Might announced triumphantly as the smoke from the shockwave cleared, the symbol of peace sanding his with his arm swung downward from his previous attack. The towering hero turned with is trademark grin to his student, "I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am that your safe Young Mako." he said as the teen lowered his arms, the bottom of his forearms on them scorched off but his skin unbroken.
The teen felt relieved at the sight of his teacher, "All Might you are a sight for sore eyes." he said honestly before he saw a legion of the Kresh in the air be suddenly brought down by a vortex of force. Running over the hill behind him was- "Thirteen!" he exclaimed upon seeing his teacher. Flying over to her, he saw her shoulders relax, "You're here? I mean I thought you'd be with the Geldarians?" he asked as he landed in front of her.
His teacher's eyes narrowed, "If you thought that I wouldn't be helping my student, whom needlessly risked his own life DISPITE my warnings-" he winced at the disappointment she had in her voice, "-escape, then you don't know me well enough." she said before crossing her arms. Invincible looked down, knowing that his professor was angry with him for his actions, so it came as a surprise when she stepped forward and put a hand on his head, "Thank goodness your alright." she said in relief.
Invincible felt her ruffle his hair as his cheeks turned a little red, "I'm sorry I just-"
He looked up and saw that the eyes of her helmet weren't angry anymore, "You were doing what you thought was right. Just like I was. But you are still our student Mako, it's not your place to take such risks as these." she lectured sternly.
Invincible looked down but nodded in understanding as All Might leaned over, "While I have my own piece to say, I do believe we are in the middle of something." the hero said, making both teacher and student perk up as they looked around and saw the Kresh forces were vastly diminished now with the heroes pushing in from all sides.
"Oh right! Kaboomerang and Best Tiger are working on blowing the ship, so this should all be over soon." Invincible informed the two teachers. As All Might opened his mouth to say something, an ear-piercing screech filled the air that sounded like nails being dragged down a chalk board hard enough to make the person doing it bleed. Turning back towards the ship, he saw the top portion of the spaceship fold out before the unfortunately familiar machine shot out onto the battlefield. "OH man didn't I break you already?!" Invincible asked in frustration as the Scavengine whipped it's head around.
The serpentine machine had new components grafted onto the parts that Mako had broken apart, the gunmetal grey armor now had crimson plating sculpted onto it with a pair of glowing red eyes that bored into the teen. Thirteen raised her hand, "I think it might remember you Mako." she warned.
"VITRUMITE!" The machine roared out before lunging at the teen.
"It tal-OOMPH!" the teen exclaimed before it was tackled with one of the beast's hands that grinded him down into the ground as it flew across it, it's other hand making a fist before beating into the teen.
"Do you dare mock me and my people now?! The Kresh are not some poultry that your people can simply brush aside! We are a proud race! A warrior race! And we will not be silenced!" The commander proclaimed as he wailed into the teen, cracking his lenses with his fist before Invincible raised his hand up and caught the fist with both his hands bracing against it. Suddenly the Scavengine was pulled off the teen by it's elongated tail and slammed into the ground a good few hundred yards away by All Might.
Pulling himself up from the tech that he been made using him, Invincible flew up into the air and over to All Might on the ground as the Kresh's Scavengine growled, "Well crap, I guess that's what they were using that trashed robot for." Invincible muttered to himself. Underneath their suits the Kresh were actually just gaseous beings, so theoretically they could operate anything as long as they made it so they could pilot it. And by the sounds of it that's just what the commander was doing with the Scavengine.
"Monster Girl! Bulletproof! Rendezvous at the large Kresh….serpent….creature." Robot announced as the thrusters in his feet cut out and he landed beside invincible. "Invincible, what am I looking at?" he asked as his green eyes scanned over the serpent like machine.
"Basically it's a machine made to eat starships, retrofitted to house a Kresh commander inside it." Invincible summarized as best he could while Bulletproof dropped off Monster Girl behind the robot while he flew over the tail that was still reaching into the ship. "How's Tiger and Kaboomerang doing?" he asked the team leader.
"Nearly done setting the charges." Robot told him as he raised his fists, small blasters emerging out from the top of his hands, "I recommend we pacify this threat before-" Robot began before the Kresh Commander swung around and whipped it's tail out, slamming it into Invincible after it broke through Robot at the waist and swatted both him and All Might away.
"Shit! Take him-" Bulletproof started as he rocketed towards the Scavegnine, only for it to roll onto the base of it's tail and slash it's talon up Bulletproof's chest, cutting into the hero before Monster Girl tackled it.
"Claws off my teammate you metal anaconda!" the Monster roared as she slammed her fists down into the robot, sparks flying from her dense fists colliding with the alien metal. However as she threw another punch, the Scavengine opened it's maw and bit down onto her fist, the chainsaw teeth roaring to life and cutting into the flesh on her hand, "AHHHHHHHH!" Monster Girl cried out as she pulled what was left of her hand free, a few fingers now missing with her tendons and bones exposed as she clutched her hand at the wrist.
As the Kresh Commander lunged his mouth at her head however, a blur of red, blue, and yellow smashed into his side, sending the foe reeling across the battlefield with it's tail dragging behind it. Invincible flew over to Monster Girl in a panic, "Oh god! Look, I'll fly you to a medic!" he offered the heroine in pain as she bit back a whimper.
"N-No….I'll be fine, my body regenerates when it switches back and forth between forms." she explained through clenched teeth before with a swirl of green energy she shrunk down in size. When the swirl died down, Mako was looking down at a girl a little younger than him holding her now undamaged hand with a dizzy look on her face. "See….all goooood." she drawled out before falling over. Invincible caught her as Bulletproof flew over, holding onto his own claw marks across his chest with a pained look.
"I'll take her to the medics, give that asshole one for each of us." he offered, Mako nodded sternly as he lifted Monster Girl up and handed her over to the Guardian of the Globe and flew away with her. Turning back to the Scavengine as All Might grappled with it, holding it back as the massive machine tried to move him, only for the Symbol of Peace to remain steadfast. Invincible took off from the ground with his fist reeled back before throwing it into the head of the Kresh commander, knocking him back away from the teacher and student.
"Your outnumbered and outmatched pal. Do yourself a favor and just stay down." Mako told him as he landed beside All Might.
The sound of a large explosion made the three of them look towards the ship to see the rear part of it explode out and fall in on itself. Mako smirked as he turned back to the Scavengine, "Oh and your ship is trashed. That's three. Three reasons to give up. No! Wait, four." he said before pointing up in the air, where there were no longer any Kresh soldiers. "Four reasons to give up." he cheekily added.
The eyes of the machine glowed red and the entire frame of the machine began to shake with raw anger, 'You! You…..no….not you! The Geldarians! The Tech Jacket! This is all it's fault! They are the ones behind this!" the commander rationalized before leaning back on the ball of it's tail and launching itself off the ground with the strength from the tail! Invincible watched as the Commander flew up into the air, but before he could take off after him, a roaring fire erupted behind him, Mako could actually feel the heat of the flames despite them being directed away from him and into the tail that was reeling out from the wreckage of the ship, the metal melting under the intense heat before it was pulled apart and the Commander fell about two miles away.
Standing in front of Mako was a man whose frame seemed to rival All Might's, fire erupted out of his shoulders and danced around his blue and white costume. The man turned around and showed the teen that the lower part of his face where facial hair would be was covered with flames that harmlessly tickled his skin, the young Viltrumite had seen this sort of fire before with one of his classmates. Which made him quickly realize who he was facing, Shoto's father, Enji Todoroki, the number 2 hero of Japan. Endeavor.
"Humph, if I had gotten here sooner I could have captured the leader." he said mainly to himself before looking All Might who simply grinned at him with his usual smile. "Where you just going to let him leave All Might?" the second ranked hero asked critically.
"Of course not! I was going to grab the tail and reel him back. But I supposed this works just as well." the symbol of peace admitted. Endeavor scoffed before turning his attention to the teen beside All Might who was looking right at him with a judgmental look.
Endeavor couldn't help but be reminded of the Midoriya boy who had faced Shoto in his match at the Sports Festival. But he also recognized the features he shared with his father, Omni Man. "Your Nolan's son aren't you?" he recognized.
"Invincible. Yeah." the teen hero introduced, his brown eyes looking into the older Todoroki's blue ones. He had known what Endeavor looked like before ever meeting Shoto obviously, having Izuku as his friend saw to that, but ever since he learned what he did to his son. Mako couldn't really look at the guy the same way, but face to face with him, he almost reminded Mako of his own father. Which didn't sit well with the teen at all, "Is that all of the Kresh?" he asked, looking around to make sure that he was right earlier.
"Yes the enemy forces are no longer. The only one that remains is that….thing." Endeavor said, looking in the direction that the Kresh Commander had landed.
"It's called a Scavengine." Mako commented, All Might and Endeavor looked at him, he raised his hands up. "Hey I'm just calling a trash can a trash can here." he defnded before looking back and seeing the aforementioned Robot shoot up from the ground in the distance, making the three heroes jump in shock, "Oh shit!" he cursed.
"I thought it'd be destroyed or damaged from the fall!" Endavor said as the three took off after it, Endeavor keeping up with All Might jump and Mako's flight with his fire shooting him up into the air after them. While he couldn't fly like other heroes could, the fire hero's mode of transport still allowed him to keep up with the Viltrumite and Ranked hero.
"We need to take that thing out before it reaches a populated area!" All Might said as Mako flew beside him, ahead of them the Scavengine was covering miles at a time with each jump
As All Might began to fall back to Earth, Mako and Endeavor continued flying, the teen's mind thinking back to what the commander said before a thought crossed his mind. "He's wants Tech Jacket and the Geldarians….and he's able to track them….oh no, where' Zack at!?" he asked All Might as he leapt back up. The teacher's eyes widened as he realized what Mako was getting at.
"He's at U.A.! Along with all the people we evacuated, including the student's parents!" he realized.
Invincible held his hand to his ear, "Cecil! This is Invincible! The Kresh Commander is heading after Tech Jacket, get me a portal there! I'll try and slow him down while All Might goes ahead and tries to get Zack away!" he said.
'Shit! On it kid! All Might, as soon as you land I'll open a portal! Endeavor, you go with him. Mako, if you can take that sonofvabitch down you do it!' Cecil ordered, the two pro heroes looking at each other and nodding while Invincible took off at his top speed towards the Scavengine.
"Thank you so much young man." The older woman said before bowing her head slightly as Midoriya carried her bags to the end of the street where the evacuation bus was awaiting him and Todoroki. The drill had been going very well, most of the people whom they had come across were ready to leave and were swiftly escorted to be picked up, some where in the middle of packing and the students were patient with them and helped carried their belongings with them. While a few outright refused to participate in the drill on account of how useless they viewed it. "You know I have a granddaughter about your age, I'm sure she'd love to meet a nice young man like yourself." she offered as Izuku offered her a hand up onto the bus.
The green haired teen blushed beat red at her offer and quickly shook his head, "T-Thank you Ma'am, but I-I-I-" he sputtered as Todoroki walked over.
"Ma'am, we need to get you on the bus for your safety." he said plainly, the older woman nodded and entered onto the bus, the transportation closing it's doors and driving away. Todoroki turned to a blushing Deku with his brow quirked up, "Midoriya, are you alright? Your face looks feverish." he asked.
Deku shook his head of his blush, "I-I'm fine. Let's move over to the next block." he said, tilting his head to the side to the next street over.
As they walked across the street however, a loud crash made them look down the street they had just cleared to see something uprooting the ground come right towards them, "OUTATHEWAY!" a familiar voice yelled out, Shoto leapt back while Izuku did the same with One for All, gaining a few feet as the thing grinding into the ground slowed to a stop at the interception.
The rubble that gathered from the grinding was shoved aside as Invincible stood up with a bloody nose, "Ugh, well at least no buildings came down this time." the teen grumbled to himself.
"Mako!" the teen whirled his head to see Izuku beaming at him in relief with tears in his eyes. "Your alright!" he exclaimed as he leapt over, his full cowling allowing him to easily cover the distance between them before embracing his friend in a hug.
Mako patted his back, "Buddy I missed you too but we got a bit of a problem." he said, Izuku pulling away as Mako pointed at the way he came to see the scavengine barreling towards them! Before Mako could take off to intercept the alien robot. A Gigantic wall of ice shot up from the ground down the street ensnared the villain inside the heavenly ice wall. Invincible and Deku turned to Shoto who let out a breath while his other side warmed the ice away that had begun coating his body.
The ice user looked at Invincible, "Will that contain the vil-alien?" he corrected himself.
"Well that thing is made to eat spaceships so….probaby not." he said as the ice shook from within, the trio of students jumping at attention as it begun to crack. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Evacuating the civilians to U.A, what are you doing here?! Why is that thing even here?!" Izuku asked as he pointed to the ice as it shook again.
"Well I'm assuming you met Zack?" he asked the two who nodded as they began to back away from the ice. "There's your answer. All Might got portaled to U.A. to keep it safe and tell Zack what was going on." he explained as the ice began to crack. Invincible looked to Todoroki, "You got another one of those in you?" he asked, tilting to the ice wall.
Shoto nodded, "I can but I think I should hold off on it for when we need it." he strategized, "If my Heavenly Ice Wall can slow it down like this, we might need it in a more desperate situation." he reasoned. Mako nodded in agreement as the ice shook again, a few chunks falling off it.
"Alright here's the play, Shoto you hang back with your ice wall, you see him try and run for the school, you hit the bastard with it." Invincible said decisively, the bi-colored haired teen nodding in agreement. "Deku, you and me hit him until he can't move. Stay away from his mouth and claws, those things can shred metal." he warned.
"What about everyone else? The rest of the class is out here evacuating." Midoriya asked.
"Then we buy them time to do that, and hopefully Tech Jacket, All Might, and Endavor will be here soon." he said as he balled his hands into fists. Izuku felt One For All course through him once more as the ice shattered and the massive chunks fall down onto the roofs of buildings while the Kresh Commander shook off the weight on it's shoulders. as it stood upright on it's tail and locked onto the three heroes, it reeled back to lunge-
"DIE YOU DAMN ET!" a voice shouted before a explosion knocked it off it's perch on the ice and made it fumble down the slope. Atop the iceslope now stood Bakugo with a visious snarl on his face.
"…..ok new plan…..we let it eat Bakugo." Invincible suggested.
Deku and Shoto looked at him with two different expressions, Shoto looking unimpressed and Izuku looking unamused, "I'm just saying we're the last people to see him! 'Oh what happened to him?' Last we saw him he was throwing down with the alien invader." he said jokingly.
"Hey!" the three looked up to backugo pointing at Mako, "What the hell goggles?! You couldn't handle one of these clowns?!" he barked out as the Scanvengine recovered and lunged towards the explosive blond, Bakugo blasted himself up into the air, seeing the tail whip at him he shot himself out of the way to his right before shooting himself over to his classmates.
Invincible rolled his eyes, "Oh hey would you look at that, it's still alive. I lost count of all the ones I beat, tell me, how many aliens have you fought other than me?" Invincible mocked before shooting off the ground, Bakugo growling in frustration as Izuku ran after his friend with Full cowling while he blasted off after them.
Invincible's fist was met with the scavengine's hads catching it but straining against the force until Izuku dashed right in front of it and leapt up between it's outstretched arms and uppercutted the machine in the jaw, staggering it and opening it up for Invincible to follow up with a hard left cross, "OUTTA THE WAY DUMBASS!" Bakugo cried out as he launched himself towards the Kresh Commander. Invincible dropped out of the way as the blonde shot himself up onto the head of the machine and slid down the back, unleashing a series of explosions behind him that both propelled him down the tail and damaged the machine.
"You….you vermin dare lay your…fleshy hands on me?!" the Commander snarled before lashing it's tail out, knocking Bakugo off course and into the window of an building as it lunged at Invincible and Deku, the later jumping up to avoid the claws like Mako had told him to only to be headbutted back while Invincible was backhanded into a parked car. "You shall kneel before me!" the crazed commander proclaimed before Deku dashed across the ground and shot into the machine's chest with a solid punch.
"No we won't!" he proclaimed, jumping off as the serpent's arms closed around his chest to try and grab the teen hero. Deku flipped back through the air and landed on the ground shakily, still not used to his maneuverability but stood his ground nonetheless, "I don't know why you came here, but this planet has a million heroes who won't stop fighting no matter how weak you think we are!"
The Kresh hissed at the teen before a car slammed into the side of it's head, "What he said!" Invincible added. The machine glowered at him, it's cut off trail reaching back to one of the buildings behind it and wrapping around it before squeezing it enough to crack the foundation.
Mako's eyes widened, "Don't worry! This whole block is evacuated! There's no one in there." Deku assured his friend before the scavengine pulled the top portion of the building off with it's tail and threw it far over the two's heads. Deku and Invincible fallowed it up into the sky and towards the forested hillside….
"OH shit!" Invincible shouted before taking off from the ground so fast that the ground blasted up from the sudden movement, as the Kresh commander leapt towards the Viltrumite however a large explosion from behind knocked it off course and into a wall of ice with spikes on it that it crashed into.
From behind the now grounded serpent machine, Bakugo Katsuki lowered his grenade gauntet with a sneer, "That was for throwing me through a goddamn window you dumbass python!" he roared before blasting off after the machine.
"Here you go Kali." Mitsuki said as she handed the other mother a bottled water. Kali gave her a tired smile and took the water and unscrewed the lid while Inko sat down at the outdoor table across from her. Mitsuki sat down across from her husband Masaru, whom like her had spikey hair that their son had inherited but aside from that and his gender, that was all he inherited however as unlike his son Masaru was a kindhearted and soft spoken man.
"Thanks Mituski." she thanked before taking a drink and sighing, "I swear I never worried over Nolan this much when he was here." she admitted. The past day had been stressful for the mother, not only was there an alien invasion which brough fire back to the debate about her son. But he himself had been captured by aliens, Cecil had assured her that he would be saved and brought back but it didn't do much to ease her worries.
Inko reached over and clasped her hand, "Kali any of us would be worried! I'm worried about Izuku being out there evacuating people." she said, trying to ease her friend's worry.
Mitsuki tittered, "Inko you worry about your boy going to school every day on the train." she commented, making the other woman stiffen and look at her betrayal. "But seriously Kali, your son is strong. Some alien gasbags aren't going to get the best of him." she added supportively.
Masaru nodded, "She's right Kali, you have nothing to worry about." he said.
Mitsuki smirked self confidently, "In fact I bet he's already on his way here now." she said, making Kali smile a little bit. Looking around the table she felt a weight lift off her shoulders, ever since Nolan left she felt…..for lack of a better term, alone. She obviously had her son and he did everything he could for her, but she still missed Nolan's companionship, and while not the same her friends had more than helped lift her back up.
As a cloud passed over head, casting a shadow over them, Masaru looked down at his phone, "How long do you think we'll be here for? I mean the operation started two hours ago right? I can't imagine it's taking much longer." he asked as he noticed the ground around them getting darker. "Is it suppoused to be this cloud-" he began to ask before looking up to see a large chunk of a building falling down towards them! "Oh my god!" he exclaimed, the other parents looking up and their eyes widening as they all ran towards the school from the table.
Reaching the crowd of parents and teachers, they also saw the top portion of a building sailing towards the mass of people. Panic quickly set in along with a made sprint for the school in the hope of protection, but the speed at which the building fe would crush them before a single one reached the front doors.
Only instead it stopped dead a good ten feet over the screaming heads of all the students and parents, when the dark shadow over their heads halted, with a single individual flying overhead with the entire weight of the building's top on his back. "Nggh….really glag…I got….some workout time in….on my trip back." Invincible grunted out as he pushed up against the building, his left arm angled back with his right pressed fully against the brick and mortar.
Floating over into the forest, away from the civilians and students, Invincible made sure that there was no one around before he let the building fall on him and crash into the ground. When the rubble of the building settled, the teen burst out from the rocks covered with dust, "*COUGH* *COUGH* Jeez, that's a lot of dust." he said, watching as the dust around him pushed away from his emergence like fog.
"Mako!" the teen's head snapped to the voice of his mother as she ran towards him, scampering up the debries.
"What the-Mom! Don't come up here it's-" he said before his mother engulfed him in a tight hug, burying her head into his shoulder.
"Thank god. Thank you god…..I couldn't loose you too." she whispered low enough for only her son to hear her. Mako wrapped his arms around her after a moment of hesitation, smiling as he embraced his mother.
"Missed you too mom." he admitted before pulling back, as the crowd of parents and students gathered around the rubble out of curiosity. "Is everyone alright?" he called out to the crowd of people. He looked around and didn't see or hear anyone call out, "Alright everyone get into the school for safety!" he called out.
"What about our kids!?" a man with long hair asked beside a woman who looked like the older image of Jiro only without the makeup on her face and with a pair of glasses.
"Your children shall be here within the hour parents!" All Might's booming voice rang out as he leapt over their heads with Tech Jacket flying over towards Invincible.
"Dude your ok!" Zack exclaimed happily as he hovered in the air above the wreckage, Mako floated up and smiled at him, "I am so sorry I left you! I wanted to go back but-"
Invincible put a hand on his shoulder, "Your fine man, you got everyone to safety, that's the important thing. All Might fill you in?" he asked, looking down as All Might addressed the crowd of worried parents. Zack nodded, "Alright you said that you never beat one of these things but is there anyway we can?" he asked, "I mean it's a machine, it's only so strong." he reasoned.
Zack shook his helmet unsurely, "I mean I've heard that they can starve to death, their power depletes after a while but I mean that's not really an option with it knocking on the door." he said.
Mako frowned, "Couldn't we just throw it into space? I mean it can't exactly fly." he asked, recalling how he beat the Nomu at the USJ.
Tech Jacket shook his head, "They have small boosters to maneuver in space, besides if it gets into space it could link back up with the Viltrumites and tell them all about us here on Earth as well as what happened with your dad." he explained. "We got to take this thing out here on Earth."
Invincible pused his lips together as he looked down at his hands, they were bruised and a little bloody from his fighting all day, You call yourself Invincible Metuki? Time to live up to the name. he thought before clenching his fists. "Then we take it out. You in?"
Zack nodded instantly, "I started this whole thing, I'm going to help end it."
"Young Zackary." both the teens turned to All Might, "We came to warn you so we can transport you somewhere safer, not to become involved in this fight." he explained.
Tech Jacket raised his hands, "All Might, listen I respect you and I'm a big fan and all but If this thing is coming after me? And is going to hurt people trying to do it? I'm not sitting around and doing nothing." he said as his cannons emerged on his arms. He turned to Invincible, "I'll explain on the way, let's go!" he said before taking off into the air with Invincible.
"Wait! Augh!" All Might bemoaned before jumping after his student leaving the crowd behind. Reaching them in midair he spoke out, "Young Zack you don't understand your not permitted to engange in this! It's hero work!"
"Yeah? Where in the laws does it say I can't fight alien invaders while wearing a suit of armor grafted to my body that allows me to fight with a walking armory?" Tech Jacket asked skeptically. "And I'm not using my quirk so is it even considered hero work?" he asked rethorically.
The symbol of peace was unamused, "I can't let you endanger yourself."
Invincible and Zack looked at one another before he looked at his teacher, "All Might it's a little bit late for that. The Kresh Commander is on his way here for Zack, he's already in danger, at least he can fight back." he reasoned.
"But he's not trained! Mako there are rules in place-" he began.
"Oh for the love of-look I get that they're there for a reason but seriously? Your telling me that when an alien comes and invades earth and goes after someone, and nearly crushes a bunch of parents of your own school to do it? Your going to stick with the rules? They're kind of out the window here!" Invincible argued as he turned his attention ahead, "TRUCK!" he yelled, the other look looked forward to see a large truk hurling towards them.
Invincible and Tech Jacket flew up higher in altitude, however the same couldn't be said for All Might who the truck crashed into and took him back down into the forest below. Invincible and Tech Jacket looked back over their shoulders as they continued flying, "Huh….you know I sometimes forget that with how far he can jump he doesn't actually fly." Invincible said before turning to his friend. As they left, neither noticed All Might push the truck off him as steam began to pour off the symbol of peace's body.
Shit! All Might thought as he began to deflate in size until the costume he wore looked three sizes to large on him. The symbol of peace coughed up a few drops of blood, looking up at the sky as his student took off with his friend, "Damnit Mako…"
"Ha! Missed me asshole!" Bakugo shouted as he avoided another swipe of the alien's tail while Deku stuck at the base of the tail once again, the armor slightly denting from the 5% impact but not doing much lasting damage. However Izuku rationalized that disconnecting the tail from the main body would drastically reduce the machine's attack power as well as their mobility.
However with his current output he couldn't do much to do crippling damage to this machine, the thought of using 100% to smash it had crossed his mind but it wouldn't end the fight, he'd just be hopping around with a broken arm after that. I've been damaging the tail as best I can, but Kaachan is adamant on taking him head on. he thought as he leapt back and turned around, landing in a roll and taking off down the street to gaining some distance from the Scavengine. Not to mention I'm still not used to moving around with All for One, I'm barely dodging these attacks! he thought before he saw the twail swipe towards him, he bent down and took a powerful leap into the air, the tail sliding across the ground and smashing into the side of a few buildings as he landed.
Before the tail could swipe back into him, a wall of ice arose and pinned the tail against the buildings, Deku looked at the scource of the ice and saw Todoroki leaning down with his hand touching the pavement. "Thanks Todoroki!" he said gratefully as he slid to a halt by his classmate's side.
"I see what your trying to do, if we take out that tail, he'll lose mobility and his attack range." he said, his eyes narrowing as the tail tried to burrow it's way out of it's confinement while Bakugo flew around the main body, setting off explosions that distracted the Kresh more than hurt it. "I have an idea, I can use my ice to weaken the metal, maybe enough for you to break it off. But I'm going to need to get in close, and I'm not very adapt at close range attacks."
"So you'll need me and Bakugo to distract it." Izuku analyzed, "Got it!" he said before shooting off across the ground and leaping at the back of the Scavengine, cracking across the back of it's head and hitting it into the ground.
"Oi! Deku the hell you think your doing!? This is my kill!" Bakugo barked in complaint at the green colored teen as he stumbled in his landing.
"Kaachan just listen-!" Izuku began before the blonde flew over the recovering Scavengine and pulled the pin on his other gauntlet, the explosion shot downwards into the street, engulfing the Kresh in the explosion as Katsuki flew back and landed as smoke bellowed off the downed machine.
"Listen my ass! Stay out of my way!" he barked at the other student who jumped from the harsh tone he had. The Scavengine's hand snapped out and gabbed onto Bakugo! "Gah! Let go of me you dumb bastard!" he cried out, his hands were parallel to his body so he couldn't use his explosions or risk hurting himself. The Kresh Commander turned to him with it's maw of chainsaw like blades opening and spinning.
"You Vermin! You dare!?" the Kresh asked.
Bakugo was brought closer to the head as it's jaws opened up, the fiery red eyes of the student starring in a mixture of panic and rage at the spinning blades.
"Midoriya now!" Todoroki called out, Deku leaping over both of Bakugo and the Kresh's heads, they both fallowed him as he dove down at the now frozen tail before smashing his fist down clean through the machine!
"GAAAAAAH!" the commander wailed as it dropped backugo who blasted the machine in the face to get away from it as the remainder of it's tail skidded across the ground.
"Kaachan are you ok?!" Izuku asked worriedly as he looked over at his friend who was inches from death a moment ago.
Katuski's head snapped back to the two of them with an annoyed expression, "I'm fine you useless nerd! I was ready to blast myself free before you two idiots came in!" he barked at them. Despite his tone, Izuku looked relieved while Todoroki carried the same calm look on his features.
As the Scavengined turned it's attention to them, the trio readied to continue the fight, "Hey gasbag!" the Kresh turned around to have a pair of high speed moving objects ram into it's chest, hitting the machine clear down to the end of the long street, Invincilbe an Tech Jacket landed on the ground beside the other students.
"Hey, what'd we miss?" Mako asked.
Izuku pointed at the severed tail, "We managed to dislocate it's tail but it's not stopping! We have to find a way to put it down." he said desperately.
Bakugo scoffed, "Then let me blow it all to hell!" he said challengingly, sparks going off on his palms again.
Tech Jacket shook his head, "That thing can take hits from a starship's cannons, your explosions won't be able to pierce the outer hull anytime soon, same with my current weaponry." he said, looking down at his arms as blasters formed. He turned to Mako,
"What about inside?" Izuku asked, "If we open it's mouth, would it be vulnerable then?" he asked."
Tech Jacket shrugged, "I mean probably but that's basically like holding open a mouth full of chainsaws." he replied, looking between Deku and Mako, "You two think you can do that while I charge my weapon up?" he asked unsurely.
Invincible and Deku looked at one another, the Viltrumite nodding which his friend quickly returned, "Leave it to us!" he said the two turning around and taking off down the street.
At the end of the road, the Kresh commander sat up from the rubble that had gathered behind it from grinding against the ground, only for Invincible and Mako to pin him back against it by the head, "Watch your hands dude!" Mako said as he grabbe he top portion of the mouth and pulled it up while Deku did the same, standing on the neck of the Scavengine and pulling the lower jaw down, his fingers careful not to be caught by the rotating blades inside the mouth. Before it could raise it's arms to swipe at it's attackers, ice covered and froze over the hands and soulders of the machine as Tech Jacket flew into place, both his arms folding into a single large cannaon that purple energy gathered at the end of, aimed directly down the mouth of the Kresh Commander.
The machine's tail flailed about desperately trying to free itself but with the small stub only remaining it did nothing to help as the machine was trapped, "You won't stop them! I may fall but your world will follow! If not the Kresh, the Viltrumites will-!" he began before Tech Jacket unleashed his blast of concentrated plasma energy right down the Scavegine's gullet, going straight through the Kresh and out the other side.
The trashing stopped, the red glowing eyes of the machine dimmed, and the entire machine slouched. Invincible and Deku released the mouth at both ends before dropping off the creature, both of whom leaned over to catch their breath. "Guh….jeeze that was a pain….you still got all your fingers?" he asked his friend.
Deku looked down at his hands, counting to himself for good measure before answering, "Yup. All ten fingers." he affirmed with a dry laugh before taking a few more deep breaths. The two shared a laugh for a moment before silence took over the tired group.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Mako looked at the remains of the machine, "Please tell me no one else hears the ominous beeping coming from that thing?" he asked hopefully. The group turned towards the machine as the beeping continued, "Oh that sore loser!" Mako growled out before flying up to the machine, grabbing it by the torso, and taking off into the air as the beeping continued to get faster and faster, his friends calling out to him as he flew up through the air. I don't know how big a 'boom' this thing is going to make so I got to get it out into space for good measure! he thought as he shot up through the clouds, the city getting further and further away beneath him.
As he reached the crest of the planet, where he could no longer hear the wind rushing by his ears, he swung both arms out and threw the remains of the Scavengine out into the void of spa-KABOOOOM!
The teen was engulfed in the blast as he was knocked back down to Earth, the mask from above his neck basted off along with part of his shoulder and the other hand of his costume as he spun uncontrollably down towards the planet. Invincible plummeted back down to Earth, through the clouds he had flown through unconsciously. As the city beneath him grew closer and closer however, Tech Jacket swooped in, wrapped his arms around the Vitlrumite, and slowed his decent before they touched down n the ground. "Mako! Shit are you ok?" he asked, shaking the teen out of his stupor as the other students rushed over.
Worry was etched onto Izuku's face until he saw his friend blink awake, "Ugghhhh wha? What…..did I just….blow up?" he asked as he looked up at the sky where he could see the shockwave from the massive explosion reverberate across the sky. "Oh wow….." he said tiredly before yawning, "I'm….surer tried guys I might….take…..a few…." he said before nodding off.
When Mako opened his eyes again, he saw the familiar ceciling of Recovery Girl's office looking back down at him. Streching his arms above his head, he let out a yawn, "Well good to see your awake sooner than last time." Mako's head snapped over to the side tosee Cecil leaning against the door to the office with his hands in his pockets, a small smile on his scarred face.
"Cecil! Oh man it's good to see you." Mako breathed out in relief before realizing what he said, "Wait how long have I been out of it?" he asked as he swung his feet over the side of the bed and stood up.
His boss held a hand up, "Easy kid, you've been out for a couple hours. The Kresh are officially taken care of. Nobody got seriously injuired, and collateral damage was kept to a single street, I call that a win." he said with a pleased smile as a weight was pulled off Mako's shoulders. Watching the young teen sit back on the bed, the GDA director stood up from the wall with a straightened posture, "Kid, I gotta say you really surpised the hell out of me." he admitted, making Mako look up at him from his bed in confusion, "I thought I was sending you on a publicity mission, but you wind up helping thwart an alien invasion, and get us some friends with the Geldarians. And wind up saving a bulk of U.A. students and parents." he praised.
Mako felt himself smile despite himself, "Yeah well…..I'm just glad no one got hurt." he said honestly. Thinking back to the number of dead from his father's lone rampage, he felt an immense sense of relief that no one had died, however what the Kresh commander had said to him still stuck. "So um….about that internship?" he asked jokingly.
Cecil chuckled, "Kid, your in the clear for the rest of the month as far as I'm concerned." he said, making the teen balk at him. "Right now we've got clean up to deal with, as well as finding out what to do with the Geldarians." he explained. "First time we've made contact with a friendly alien species. And they're not staying here but we want to keep things friendly with them."
Mako rubbed the back of his head, "Oh man I didn't even think of that." he admitted somewhat sheepishly.
"Well they've mentioned being a part of that Coalition of Planets that your one eyed friend works for. So we're hoping that we can have them connect Earth with that. We'll get a few delegators from across the globe to see if they can go with them." Cecil explained as he looked down at his phone. "I gotta head out, thank you again Mako. I'll be in touch." he said before a doorway appeared which he stepped through.
As the portal closed, Mako fell back onto the bed with a sigh, looking down at himself he saw his suit was once again torn up from his multiple fights throughout the day. Looking over to the bedside table he saw the remains of the oxygen pack he wore on his back into space, the one Melissa- "Oh crap!" he exclaimed upon realization. Shooting up from the bed, he ran out the door to the nurse's office and into the hall, nearly bumping into a skinny blonde man. "Sorry! Sorry, my bad." he apologized quickly to him before running round him.
All Might stood frozen in place before letting out a shaky breath at nearly being caught red handed, I…..I really need to get better at this. he thought as he slipped into the Nurse's Office.
Mako meanwhile ran to the stairwell and jumped over the railing, stopping inches off from the ground floor before flying out through the front doors of the school and up into the air, taking off through the setting sky towards the East.
'And that striking footage of Invincible, back on earth, came straight from a student at U.A. which caught the young hero on camera saving the students and parents of the prestigious Hero School after one of the invaders unexpectedly threw the top part of an apartment building at the school. Reporters on the scene say that the reconstruction effort is already on the way. However Invincible hasn't been seen since the fight.' the news reporter for Shoowaysha publishing said as Melissa watched the TV in her room with a mixture of relief and anxiousness. Mako was shown to be at the very least alive, but no one had seen him for hours.
The blonde support student sighed as she pulled her knees up to her chest, she had changed out of her school uniform for the day and had put on a comfortable pair of black shorts and a blue T shirt to try and relax in. Her dad had told her that with the operation going on today he would be busy, but if anything came up to not hesitate to call him.
Drawing her gaze away from the TV, she looked across her room, the red wallpaper with grey carpet floor wasn't the tidiest of rooms. Her desk beside her window was covered with a bunch of blueprints she drew up for fun. on the opposite wall was her closet, with dirty clothes piled up in front of it where her already full hamper was leaning against the door, her bra dangling off the side of it being a clear sign that she needed to get her laundry done…..eventually. Her eyes drifted over to the wall beside her closet which had a built in bookshelf, itself was a mess with the sheer volume of books being crammed into it, most of which were a bunch of old sci-fi books she had gotten into reading when she was younger.
She uncoiled herself and stretched her feet out on the queen sized bed, reaching up to her face, she took off her glasses and set them down on her bedside table where the remote to her TV was, her eyesight wasn't terrible by any means without them but things could sometimes get a little blurry if she looked at something close to her face for too long. As she turned off the TV for the evening, she heard something hit her window in quick sucession, her head whipped around and her eyes widened at the blue and yellow costumed superhero floating outside her window with a relieved grin on his face.
She all but leapt out of bed and ran to her window, throwing it open as Mako floated inside ang grabbing him by the collar of his suit and pulling him into a kiss. Mako was taken aback by the suddenness of her actions but melted into her embrace, his arms wrapping around her and picking her up off the ground.
Her mouth pulled off of his, a shuttering breath brushing past his lips, "Your ok." she breathed into him in a whisper of relief, her eyes opening and staring into her's. Their feet touched down on the ground as he smiled at her.
"Yeah…..sorry, the helmet kind of broke." he apologized as her hand cupped the side of his angular face.
She smiled at him, "Oh gee, what a surprise." she laughed as her hands wend down to his and held them, looking down she saw that the fight he had been in had also damaged his gloves. "I see you've also wrecked another costume I've made." she teased.
Mako smiled at her, "Hey I just saved the world today, you can poke fun all you want, but I'm back home with my girlfriend, the day is saved and…" he trailed off as he looked into her eyes, "…I'm just really glad to see you again." he said earnestly. Melissa's face warmed up as she looked over at her closet…..closet….
They were in her room…..her room, her laundry. Dirty laundry! Bras! Underwear! Panties!
Oh god this place is a mess! she suddenly realized, ironically his room was somehow cleaner than her's and he was the boy in the relationship! Mako seemed to realize it as well and looked around the room with a curious glance.
"Huh….don't know why but I expected more….pink I guess?" he said mostly to himself before the way Melissa's face was slightly red and wouldn't make eye contact with him. "Oh! Uh, if your not comfortable with me in here I can just-" he said as he pointed a thumb back behind him. He had been in such a rush over here to see Melissa that he hadn't really took a second to consider where she was when he saw her through the windows.
Melissa was half tempted to take him up on his offer but found herself shaking her head, "N-No! It's fine I just….wasn't expecting guests…." she said, trailing off in embarrassment.
Mako however smiled at her, "Hey I had to clean my room up when you came over, don't feel embarrassed. I had to cram like all my dirty clothes under my bed when you came to spend the night." he admitted, recalling how he literally lifted his bed over his head and kicked all the dirty clothes he had amassed underneath the bed.
Melissa relaxed at his assurances, locking her fingers with his, she pulled him back towards her bed. She sat down on it and looked up at Mako, who looked down at her and noticed her attire, her bare legs that went up a little past her knees, the T shirt that….helped show off her curves which he had always noticed but….never to this degree before. "Mako….could you stay here with me?"
The viltrumite swallowed thickly, she patted the spot beside her on the bed as she laid down, and Mako felt himself relax upon realizing she wasn't proposing…..that. "Y-Yeah." he replied before laying down next to her, both their legs dangling off the bed as they held hands. Melissa turned over onto her side as he did to face each other. The bed….really soft, "This is a really nice bed." he said before letting out a yawn, Melissa giggling at her boyfriend, "Sorry I've….god I haven't slept since I got knocked out earlier today." he admitted.
Melissa reached her hand up and held the side of his face, "Then catch some sleep…..I don't mind as long as you're here." she replied. Mako smiled at her as he closed his eyes, Melissa silently watching him as he began to drift off into sleep, her hand still clasping his as he drifted off into slumber.
AN: Finally! The event is done, and with the longest chapter yet! Man I ha a blast writing this, I'll be hoenst I wasn't sure if I could do a chapter that's just nonstop action again after the omni man fight but honestly I had a blast writing this. Th next chapter will deal with the fallout, like what about Tech Jacket and the Geldarians? Who is Mako going to intern with? Is it the same person I planned when I first wrote that chapter? All your questions answered next chapter!
Things have been kind of busy for me lately, I've gotten a 3D animation internship with a production company that I need to work on in my spare time. I'm interviewing for part time jobs, working on my demo reel so I can start applying to game studios as soon as I graduate this year, and I moving to a new house as well as other stuff has made me kind of busy lately. But I'm still writing this fic!

Also what the hell had you waiting 12 years for? And yeah other countries aren't mentioned in MHA that much, but neither are they in Invincible. I do see what you mean about this arc feeling like filler, and it sort of is honestly, but I hear what your saying.
Dragon King of the West: Yeah! Also the Astounding Wolf Man, another Robert Kirkman creation, is part of the universe and has his own crossover with Invincible.

Guest 3: Ok so I thought the same thing for the longest time but Inviniclbe doesn't really get a power boost. It's not like dragon ball where the closer they get to death the stronger they come back, they just get stronger because they fight. Mark catches up to his dad's level of strength relatively quickly in the comics despite Nolan being alive far longer than him because Mark is constantly pushing himself being a hero on Earth.
guest8: Ok, I didn't want to rewrite the tournament. But what does that mean it says a lot about me? I mean I get why you don't want Bakugo to win, but Mako winning just seems kind of…predictable?
