Homecoming

"And your feeling fine?" Midnight asked with concern as Mako sat across from her in the teacher's lounge in his regular clothes, a short sleeve shirt and a pair of old worn jeans. The attempted alien invasion of Earth hadn't lasted as long or caused nearly as much damage as some people worried that it could have, in fact the only real concern among the U.A. staff was their fromally lost student's mental state after being held captive for so long. However much to her own surprise, Midnight found the young man to be quite chipper if anything, "Because just because you weren't physically hurt doesn't mean you weren't affected." She told him.

Mako, who was simply smiling at her, rubbed the back of his head, "I've said it once, I'll say it fifty more times. I feel fine Midnight. I mean nothing really bad happened, I was just pinned down to the ground for most of the trip. Worst thing they did was blast me once in a while when I got uppity with them but that was like a bee sting at worst." He assured her before leaning back on the couch of lounge.

The teacher let out a breath, "Forgive my questioning Mako, it's just that…..well we didn't know what to expect when we found out you had been captured. Thirteen was beside herself when she came here." She said, making the smile vanish from the student's face.

"It was my choice to do what I did, she shouldn't be blamed for that." He reasoned.

Midnight shook her head, "Mako she's your teacher just as much as I am, your our responsibility, you look to us for guidance and it's our job to protect you all." She explained calmly as opposed to All Might's words that were exchanged with the teen a few days ago in mid combat.

"And I understand that but I mean…..that's not up to you or me." He replied, making his teacher tilt her head questionably. "I mean you guys aren't to blame for the League of Villains attacking the USJ. But they did it anyway and we needed to defend ourselves." He reasoned, "Same with the Kresh, none of us could have expected them to even exist."

Midnight sighed, "While that's not wrong, it seems your not seeing the point. You're a student Mako, you and your classmates shouldn't be put in these positions whatsoever."

Mako tilted his head, "Why? I mean it's what we're going to b doing one day isn't it?" he asked, "I just…..I get that it's bad that this happens in the first place. But if it's going to happen? I'd rather be able to do something about it then nothing."

Midnight let out a small chuckle, "Well your heart is certainly in the right place. No doubt about that. But regardless, I'm happy to hear that Cecil isn't going to need you for some time. It'll let you focus on your studies…..which you need to catch up on." She said, making the smile vanish completely from the teen's face.

"Oh….yeah….right." he realized.

"Then there's also the fact that you disobeyed your teachers a number of times." Midnight casually added, making the teen stiffen in his seat. "Mr. Aizawa said that he'll take care of disciplinary action. I believe he mentioned a few hours after class when they start bac up." She said with a sadistic smirk directed at Mako.

"But…..but I saved the world…" he said in a small voice.

"Yes…yes you did." Midnight said with a nod, "But you also had to ignore your teachers to do it. So you got to deal with the consequences." She added quickly, making Mako's head drop. "But don't worry, I'm sure you'll have just enough time to get your work done before school opens back up." She said, enjoying the sight of her student hearing about his upcoming workload, her inner sadist coming out to play a little as it were.

Mako's hands ran down his face and let out an accepting sigh, "Alright, I guess I have to. I mean I can't fall behind in my classes. Especially with internships coming up." He said.

Midnight nodded, "Exactly. Now then since you seem to be doing ok, I think we can call this session a little early. But if anything comes up? Anything at all? Don't hesitate." She told him earnestly, earning a nod from her student before he stood up and walked to the door that exited the Teacher's lounge and into the halls of the school. Closing the door behind him, he looked out the window to the front of school and saw the remains of the building he had caught and safely dropped. Powerloader was currently outside clearing the rubble. Mako had offered to help clean up his own mess but the Support Course teacher insisted letting him use it as a chance to test out some of his recovery inventions he had made.

As he walked through the halls of the school, Mako thought over the events of the last few days. The GDA had taken every single bit of the Kresh technology to study, a large tent even going up over the wrecked ship while they studied it around the clock with Robot overseeing efforts. No one had been hurt, just like Cecil said, and the city block that was trashed from fighting the Kresh Comander was being repaired with Cementos and other rebuilding heroes.

The entire country, the world really, was in a celebratory mood due to the victory over the Kresh Invasion. In fact Class 1-A was getting in on the action with Mina organizing a party for the class to attend. Bakugo had declined the invitation with his usual rudeness, while Iida had respectfully and politely declined to as well. I can't blame the guy with his brother still in the hospital. The teen thought as he walked past the door to the principal's office that nearly hit him, "Woah!"

A familiar white animal head poked out from around the side, "Ah Mako! You have perfect timing!" he said before stepping out from behind the door to greet the teen who kneeled down to his eye level, "I wanted to commend you for your role in protecting both U.A. and it's guests in it's time of need." He said giving the teen a small bow, "I'm also happy that our newest addition to U.A. will be able to meet you."

"New addition?" he asked as the door closed, Mako looked up, "Zack!" he exclaimed happily upon seeing his friend who smiled at him, "Your going to U.A.?" he asked excitedly.

The Geldarian Champion nodded, "Yeah, since I can't take the Tech Jacket off, and with what I'm able to do….well me and my parents had a long talk and we agreed that I should do something with it." He said proudly before looking down at the principal. "So we talked it over with Principal Nezu and I'll be joining the hero course." He spoke.

Mako beamed at him, "That's awesome! So your joining our class?" he asked with excitement.

"Actually he'll be joining ours." Mako turned his head and was met by a familiar face, it was the same student that had taken Bakugo's quirk during the Sports Festival during the Cavalry battle. He had blonde hair that was swept aside with piercing blue eyes, but what Mako immediately noticed was the unsettling smirk he had, "Sorry but Class 1A won't be poaching any more talent and leaving us to fend for ourselves!" Moanama proclaimed before a hand chopped on his neck, making his slouch over as a young woman grabbed him by the back collar of his shirt to keep him from laying on the ground.

Mako recognized her from the sports festival as the one who gave her spot up in the final round to another group of students since they didn't feel that they earned it. She had ginger hair that was tied off the side of her head in a ponytail. Unlike Moanama she wore a more sheepish expression, "Sorry about him, he's a little overly competitive. I'm Itsuka Kendo, nice to meet you Zack." She greeted warmly, holding her hand out for the new student to shake, which after a brief second of hesitation after seeing what she did to the other student he did. "Since Class 1-A had 21 students since the beginning of the year, we've been trying to get someone on our class to even them up number wise." She explained to the pair.

Nezu nodded, "Indeed, while we do allow our teachers to bend the rules with how they teach their classes, Vlad King insisted on having their classes be even…mainly due to complaints from a certain student." He explained, looking at the dazed body of the blonde student. "Either way it's about time that we balanced the scales so to speak."

Mako tuned to Zack with a smile, "Well either way, cool that your going to be here. But what about the Geldarians?" he asked curiously.

The Tech Jacket user perked up, "Oh it's great! With the Kresh off their tail? They'll be heading for Talescria. The home of the Coalition of Planets, they're going to inform them about what happened, once word gets out that one of the Viltrumite's forces was defeated? That'll do wonders for races not too sure about joining." He said excitedly.

Itsuka looked between the two curiously, "The what, the what, and the…..what of planets?" she asked.

"Long story. Basically the Geldarians will be getting other alien species in the know about Earth and getting allies against the evil space empire….uh, no offense." He truncated for his new class president's sake before apologizing to Mako for the description of his species. The Viltrumite shrugged, "They're also giving that Cecil guy copies of all the data we have on other races and stuff, figured it'd help. They'll also drop your astronauts back on Mars since….we kind of screwed that up." He said sheepishly.

Mako chuckled, "I mean I'm not going to say you didn't." he said before pulling out his phone and checking the time. "Look it's great to see you again, glad you're here and all that, but I promised my Girlfriend my whole first day off with her and she wakes up in like an hour so…." He made a gesture with his thumbs going over his shoulder. Zack smiled and nodded in understanding as Mako continued on his way out of the school and heading on his way to I-Island.

The streets of I-Island were as usual, busy as Mako walked arm in arm with Melissa down the street. "Thanks again for picking up breakfast. You didn't have to." She said, recalling the croissants Mako had picked up from France before coming to her place and waiting outside her window for her to wake up and give her some breakfast in bed. After getting dressed for the tropical day in a white button up shirt and a pair of jean shorts and shoes, the couple were off for their day together, Melissa's dad and most other scientists on the island being busy with the equipment from the Kresh invasion to analyze meant that classes for her were all but cancelled today, and she intended to get the most out of it.

"Maybe, but I wanted to." Mako replied playfully, "So this grand tour of the island, we hitting up your favorite spots today?" he asked happily.

Melissa turned her head to him and smirked, "Honestly I'm more surprised you haven't explored the island more on your own. I mean you've been coming here for what? Almost a year now?" she asked.

The Viltrumite shrugged, "Well there was this pretty blonde girl, she kind of kept all my attention whenever I came here." He replied mirthfully as she looked into his eyes through her glasses. Said blonde girl grinned at him, "And I'll be honest she's probably the most interesting thing about this place." He added flirtatiously.

"You know anywhere else I'd roll my eyes, but given the modern marvels we make here every day? That's very sweet." She replied before leaning in and pecking him on the lips. She pulled away with a smile, "Now then, since you showed off what a little comic book nerd you are….I figured it's only I showed off my nerdy side." She said, pulling him towards the side of the road. Mako looked up at the building they were approaching and saw in large cartoony letters the word, 'Arcade'.

"No way." He said in amusement, turning to his girlfriend who shrugged, "Just arcade games or?" he asked.

"Any games. But today? I school you in arcade games." She said, pushing the doors open and leading him through into the entertainment center. Inside, lights of every possible color illuminated the room with what looked like possibly every single type of arcade game ever made lined up in rows. Mako followed his girlfriend to the floor, flashing the scanning robot at the entrance a pass that she had which allowed them in for no fee.

Melissa walked them up to a booth with plastic guns holstered on the cabinet with zombies and monsters painted on the sides. Sliding pass into the port on the body, the game started up with his girlfriend holding the toy pistol for him. The two spent a good fifteen minutes shooting their way through the virtual space, Melissa excitedly reminding him how to reload his pretend weapon when it ran out of ammunition. The first game coming to an climatic end when Melissa, facing the final boss, snatched the toy out of her boyfriend's hand as he was reloading and unleashed the power of two hands onto the final boss!

Mako never stopped grinning the entire time, when the scores tallied up, he saw that he there was a good distance between him and Melissa in terms of scores. "Your hand and eye coordination isn't what expected." She teased as she holstered both the weapons on the booth, leaning on it with a satisfied expression.

Mako rolled his eyes despite his smile, "Oh that's how it's going to be?" Melissa nodded, "Ok first of all, my reaction time is fine, it's these plastic guns I can't risk breaking with my super strength that's holding me back." He said, raising his arms and flexing to drive his point home.

His girlfriend balked out in laughter, "Ok, if that's the excuse your using, how about something easier?" she teased, "Loser gets to pick the next game."

Mako chuckled as his head craned back, "Jeeze, you want to just grind that knife into my back or what?" he asked rhetorically. He looked around at the games nearby, Mako wasn't into games like this all that much, when he and Izuku were bored they would hit up the arcade back in Japan once in a while but it wasn't a hobby like his comic books. However one game caught his eye, a fighting game with his favorite character on the side of it. "No way." He said as he walked towards it, Melissa turning to see what he was approaching, "Image vs SEGA 3! With Science Dog!" he said excitedly as he looked over the cabinet.

Melissa walked over to him with a bemused smile, "Alright then, no excuses this time." She teased as they took their positions at the controls. After selecting their characters, Mako of course choosing his favorite comic book character to play as, the battle between the two began in the virtual space. Melissa's fingers hammered on the buttons just as Mako's did, however it seemed that there were some truth to his claim as she found herself on the losing side this time.

Melissa crossed her arms as she turned to her boyfriend with an amused look on her face while he was beaming, "Alright, but I bet you wouldn't have won if there wasn't Science Dog." She proclaimed jokingly.

Mako took in a breath through his teeth, "See I don't know, I could probably beat you with my super speedy fingers." He said, raising his hand and wiggling his digits. The playfulness dropped from melissa's face as a red tinge spread across her cheeks at the inuendo, seeing his girlfriend's reaction Mako replayed what he said over in his head and immediately realized what he said. "I-I don't mean like that! I mean….I….er…hey what game do you want to play next?" he asked.

Melissa snorted in amusement at his attempt to desperately change the subject, "Mako it's fine. Harmless intention…..unless you do in which case I call shenanigans on your win." She said, making him smile as they moved on past the crowds of people to the next game.

After a number of games with both of the couple sharing their victories and losses in fair share, the couple exited the arcade hand in hand with Melissa leading him to a small ice cream parlor with outdoor seating that they took advantage of. Melissa sat beside her boyfriend a the round table as the server set their orders down in front of them, "Man I can't believe you guys have dip and dots here." Mako said with a smile as he looked down at the pink and blue dots in his bowl. Melissa had ordered a sundae split with banana slices. "I know a few places around the world my dad showed me that had them but if I'd known they served them here? Man I'd grab some every time I came here." He said as he used his spoon to take a mixture of flavor and eat it.

Melissa took a cut of the banana and chewed on it with a hum before swallowing it, "Me and my dad would come here during the summer to get something to cool off with." She said as she took a scoop of her ice cream. As she and Mako ate, the two noticed the patrons of the small shop glancing their way, Mako sighed to himself but kept silent less he ruin the mood. This tended to happen every time he made a public appearance, someone would point and whisper at him, on some occasions someone would be brave enough to walk over and tell him to his face that he was the son of a villain, but he hoped that wouldn't be today.

"Um….excuse me?" the two teens turned back over both their shoulders to see a older woman looking down in front of her, the couple looked down and were greeted by a little boy, his knees shaking with a pencil in one hand and a notebook in the other. The boy was clearly nervous as Izuku normally was, "Um….Mister Invincible? Can I….can I have your autograph?" he asked.

Mako swore his jaw became detached with how fast it dropped, "Oh! Absolutely!" he said excitedly, making the boy's fears vanish as Mako spun around in his seat and was handed the pen and paper, "Do you want it to say something? Or do you want my name?" he asked as Melissa watched the pair with joy.

"Oh! Um, your superhero name please? Sorry." He said.

"All good little man." He assured as he signed his name as best as he could for the boy.

Handing it back to him, the boy beamed up at him, "Thanks Mr. Invincible!" he said happily before turning around and running over to his mother who gave the couple a nod of gratitude.

As the mother and son walked off, the boy waving goodbye to him, Mako waved goodbye with a broad smile that made Melissa beam in pride as well. "That was without a doubt the cutest thing I think I've ever seen." She gushed, suddenly wishing she had taken her camera out to record the moment on her phone. Mako turned to her and ran a hand through his head, seemingly taken aback by the exchange, "You ok?" she asked with a laugh.

"Yeah I just…god I always wanted to be a hero but I never even imagined ever doing something like that. Like….heh." he laughed, wiping a little bit of wetness from his eye. After my dad and…..I never thought anyone would ever….celebrate me. Let alone a kid." He admitted as his girlfriend gently set a hand on his shoulder comfortingly. Looking over, he felt his face fluster with embarrassment at being seen like this by her of all people. However looking into her soft aqua eyes, her cheeks scrunched up from the smile she had, that embarrassment evaporated.

"You deserve it Mako. God knows you've been through a lot the past three months." She said as she slid his bowl of ice cream over to him. He gave her a relaxed smile, picking up his spoon he took another bite of his well-deserved treat.

After the couple finished their tasty frozen treat, they continued their journey across I-Island where Melissa led him to the exhibition hall. Watching as the encrilced dome they were watching held a old fashioned car whose wheels turned over onto their rims and ignited thursters from which that kept it hovering in midair. "Ok that's cool and everything but I'm sort of glad flying cars aren't a thing." Mako admitted as Melissa turned to him.

His girlfriend nodded in agreement as they walked onto the next exhibit, "Same here, you know how many car crashes happen a day? Over seventeen thousand! And that's just in the united states." She reasoned. Mako hissing at the possibilities, "Exactly! I don't want to hear about how someone was texting while flying and ran into a tree or something worse."

"I tried that once, nearly dropped my phone and had to zoom after it to catch it before it fell." He recalled as they approached another vehicle exhibit, this one being able to transform from a aircraft to a submarine. "Now this is cool." He admitted, pointing at the display."

Melissa smiled wryly, "Really?" she asked.

"Yeah! Totally, I mean I'm also one of those people who thinks we should build a city underwater instead of in space." He admitted. Melissa preformed a double take at that reasoning, "It was in a comic I read. They build a city under the sea, and there's like skyscrapers underwater that have fish outside their windows. It's cool." He said with a shrug.

The blonde put a finger to her chin, "No that's actually an interesting idea. I think that's actually something that they're working on but the biggest hurdle for it is making sure that the pressure inside the buildings would be able to match outside." She explained as she looked over to see another exhibit. Turning away, Mako followed after her, "Oh this one is cool, want to see in 360 degrees?" she asked as they approached a set of square shaped helmets, "These have dozens of micro cameras around the head which allow you to see all around you! They made this last year." She said proudly as she handed it to mako who slipped it on over his head. His field of vision was suddenly expanded around him, allowing him to see completely around his head.

"Oh wow this is….cool and disorienting!" he said as he turned his head from side to side, testing how his sight adjusted. All the while he could still see Melissa's grinning face. "Is this for some specific reason?" he asked, taking an experimental step forward.

"Well the idea is that we can give these helmets for heroes who go into building environments so that they can't be outmaneuvered." She explained as Mako's walk became less nervous and more natural. Melissa noticed and smiled at her work, "It doesn't take too long to get the hang of it. It's like those VR headsets that games use, the only real issue is that some people get disoriented after prolonged use." She said as Mako took the helmet off and blinked a few times to reorient his vision.

"Ugh yeah, yeah I can feel that….give me a second." He said, holding his hand as Melissa sheepishly giggled. She put the helmet back as Mako took a minute for the dizziness to pass, when he was good to go they walked through the Science hall and browsed around the other exhibits while other guests inspected with varying degrees of fascination. "Ok so why is this place one of your 'must see' locations for I-Island?" he asked curiously as they walked through the hall.

Melissa smiled as she looked around, "Well for me? It's inspiring." She admitted, "I look around and see all of these inventions, and knowing I have the tools to do that? It makes me feel inspired to get to work on something, anything." She explained with a wistful smile. She turned to him before continuing, "It can be hard to…..well, it's hard for anyone to create. It doesn't matter what it is, sometimes when I feel burnt out from work or something I'll take a break, come by here, and feel inspired." She said as she looked over at a full on diving suit that was meant to explore the depths of the ocean.

She felt Mako's hand slide into her's, "Hey, if you ever need me to do anything to help with that? Tell me. I'm just a phone call and short flight away." He said with a sympathetic smile. Melissa's slightly surprised face relaxed into a smile and she gripped his hand tighter. Leaning on his shoulder as they continued to walk through the exhibits.

The tour of I-Island for the couple ended back at Melissa's place, with them taking the elevator back up to Melissa and her father's suite of the living quarters. "So what are you going to be doing now? With Cecil not needing you for anything I imagine that you'll be able to focus on school for a change." Melissa asked as the elevator doors open to the hall that led to suite.

"Well we have internships next week, I still can't believe Miruko of all people reached out to me. I mean she's notorious for being a solo act." He said, he had been surprised to see one of the top ranked heroes in Japan request him for internships when he hadn't even competed in the Sports Festival. Suffice to say it was an opportunity that he couldn't really pass up. He didn't notice how Melissa glanced away from him with a ever so slightly putrubed expression.

Truth be told she completely understood why Mako took the offer, if she was in his shoes she would have as well, but…..and she knew that it was dumb, she had looked up Miruko online when he told her about the internship and…..well…..there was no other way to look at it, the Rabbit Hero Miruko was…stacked. Not in her feminine assets either but in terms of physical fitness, the only other heroine that came close off the top of her head was Stars and Stripes! Mako noticed his girlfriend's lack of comment and looked over to see her pouting. "What?"

She quickly turned and blinked, "What?"

"Don't 'what' me. You know what." Mako said pointing a finger at her.

Melissa felt her face warm up as she unlocked the door to her place, "It's nothing, it's dumb." She replied, making Mako bark out a laugh.

"Melissa you're a hundred times smarter than me, even when you think something is dumb, there's probably much more reason for it then anyone else would think something is dumb for." He said, the blonde turning to look at him over her shoulder and smiling a little.

"That is…very flattering actually." She admitted as she crossed her arms over her chest, "It's dumb because…..your a young man and she's a old…..well, not even that much older woman whose very attractive and strong and…well you know." She said with a shrug as she looked away. The amusement that Mako's face carried draining away as she explained herself.

He walked over, "Woah, woah, woah Melissa that's not…..you don't think I'd-" he began shaking his head.

She quickly turned and shook her head, "Oh! No! No no, that's not what I'm thinking! Not at all, it's just that…." She felt her face warm up before looking away towards the window with a flustered expression. "It's just…..she's very….attractive and you'll be….and I'm…." she trailed off in embarrassment. During the sports festival when she saw Midnight and learned she was his counselor her first thought was 'The school lets her wear that around students?', with her second noticing how attractive she was, it wasn't something she hadn't felt before, heroes and heroines who had quirks that physically augmented them in some way tended to be traditionally attractive. And for people who didn't have quirks, it could make them feel even worse about themselves to a degree.

"Wait Melissa….are you….you think I think your not hot?" he asked he asked with a laugh. The blonde groaned at his teasing tone, her cheeks puffing out cutely. Mako felt his throat tighten slightly, looking over his girlfriend he would have to be blind to not notice just how attractive she was. Her gorgeous blonde hair that went down her back, outlining her feminine curves. Her bust was something that he never openly gawked at but he noticed the swell of her chest could rival Yaoyorozu's, which of course he noticed along with every single other student in their school, but Melissa never wore anything that revealed them to the extent of Creati's hero costume. Her hips weren't as noticeable but still leant to her figure. And her but was something that Mako admittedly would admire from time to time when her back was turned to him.

Not that he had ever said ANY of this to her face of course, he didn't want her to think he was just staring at her like…..like that. But if she felt like he wasn't noticing her then…..

Mako walked over and took her hands into his, "Hey I think your plenty hot." He admitted, Melissa blinking in surprise at the rather blunt reveal. "And I don't say anything because I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable. Buts Melissa, if you think I don't find you attractive? Then….I'll try to remind you how beautiful I think you are." He said, causing his girlfriend's face to warm up along with a small smile to play on her lips. "Starting now…..you have an amazing butt." He said shamelessly.

Melissa barked out a laugh, her head bowing down as she shook her head, "And you hair is so smooth, I love running my hands through it." He added, his hands brushing over the back of her head as she looked up.

"That's….ok this isn't what I pictured." She giggled out.

"Your eyes are mesmerizing." He added, seemingly ignoring her.

She rolled the eyes he commented on, "And I think your glasses make you look cute." He added as well. Melissa blinked at him, "Honest….plus it's kind of hot." He admitted with a sheepish grin.

Melissa's hands reached up to her spectacles, "Really?" she asked.

"Yeah….." Mako nodded, the playful smile he had vanishing as he looked at her face, his eye drawn to her lips, "Your lips are…..so soft….I really like it when we kiss."

The support senior swallowed, "Yours aren't but they're…firm…not too much though." She replied softly.

Mako felt his throat get a little tighter, "I um….." he felt like he was threading a verbal needle between risqué and rude with what he would choose to say next.

"What?" Melissa inquired in a whisper.

He swallowed the forming lump in his throat, "I like holding you close because….I can feel you pressed up against me….and your so soft…." He said, the words feeling like strings being pulled taught throughout his body. "And….well….you…." he fumbled, Melissa's eyes looking into his made him falter slightly, "And I…." he trailed off as she began to lean forward. He met her halfway and captured her lips.

"MMmmmmppph." The girl moaned against his lips. His hands held her by her sides, the blonde giggling against him as his fingers trailed down her sides before resting on her hips. Their kiss deepened, Melissa's arms throwing themselves around his neck and pulling herself closer into Mako's embrace as the sound of their lips smacking against each other echoed through the empty room. Mako felt his heart beating in his chest like a drum whose pace was getting faster with each small moan he drew out of Melissa.

His hands adjusted and grabbed onto her lower cheeks, Melissa gasped against his mouth at the feeling of his hands on her, the pair broke apart and looked at one another as they breathed heavily. The young couple paused as their breathing settled, "Sh…should we…stop?" he asked.

Melissa's heart was racing, she could feel heat pooling in her abdomen, she could feel him with how close they were holding each other. "I…..I don't know." She admitted breathlessly. "I…..I missed you…so much." She admitted, her hand leaving his neck and holding the side of his face, "But I…I don't know." she said, her voice laced with dissapointent. She thought of reasons why they should continue, keep pushing forward with this, because god the way he fondled her…..

But then there was obviously the reasons not to, this wasn't planned in any way, they never talked about doing this, about having sex. Not to mention that they were openly groping in the living room of her place of all things, "Hey, it's fine." Mako replied, drawing her out of her thoughts. "Look….we don't need to do anything. I'm…I'm honestly super nervous." He admitted with a laugh.

Melissa relaxed along with him at that admission, "Really? Because….well…" her eyes darted off to the side as her read tilted back, gesturing to where Mako was holding onto her rear end. His hands slid off her and ran through his hair, "I'm sorry Mako."

He blinked at her, "What? No, don't be. If you're not cool with this, if either of us aren't, then it's fine not to." He said with a smile.

The blonde still looked unsure, "Your not….dissapointed?" she asked.

He shook his head, "Nope."

"But don't you….want to?" she asked.

Mako chuckled, "Oh I want to. I'm not even going to pretend otherwise but….." he trailed off, "I don't know if we should?"

Melissa let out a breath, "Good….I mean I feel the same way. I mean I want to but-"

"We haven't had a single talk about it." Mako finished for her, Melissa nodded. "So….we good?" he asked hopefully.

She giggled before planting a kiss on his cheek, "Yes we are. Do you want to stay? I mean we can have fun with our clothes on." She joked.

Mako stepped away, "True, today has proven that to be the case. But I need to get back home for dinner." He said, turning his head to see the setting sun. With the sun setting here, it meant that it was probably dark back home, "Plus I got detention tomorrow." He remembered as he lowered his head in disappointment.

Melissa patted his shoulder, "I'll wait for you." She said jokingly.

He turned back to her, "But seriously, we're good….we don't need to do anything like that if you don't want to." he explained. Mako was used to people being afraid of him, but if he ever did anything to make Melissa like that….the person who helped him at his lowest point? He wasn't sure if he could ever live with that..

Melissa's cheeks reddened before she replied, "I mean…..that's not the only thing we could do."

The viltrumite blinked…..and then blinked again, "…huh?"

"I mean obviously we'll need to talk about it first but I think as long as we feel comfortable with each other that's what's most important." She continued.

"….huh?!" Mako squawked.

Her eyes darted away from his under his disbelief, "It's something to talk about later." She finished, as she walked towards the window, it took a minute for Mako's brain to completely reboot before walking after her.

Opening the window, he looked out it and then back to her as she smiled at him, "Awkardness aside? I had an amazing day." He told her earnestly.

She folded her arms behind her back and smiled, "Me to…..I wish we could do this more often." She said wistfully.

He nodded in agreement, between school and his job he couldn't spend as much time with his girlfriend as he liked, and usually when they did manage to plan something to do together half the time Mako would need to be called away for something. And with his internship with Miruko approaching there was a chance they wouldn't be able to do anything like this soon. "You know if you figured out teleporting like Cecil? Then this would be much easier." He joked.

Melissa laughed, "Beats flying cars." She said as he lifted up off the ground, floating in front of her with his body leaned back into the air in a relaxed position. Giving her a small salute, he shot out through the window just fast enough to cause a backdraft that kicked up her hair, his girlfriend snickered at the tickle of the wind while Mako flew away. Looking out the window, she let out a small sigh, the passion from the last few moments still lingering with her, "We don't need to jump to that….there's other stuff we can do anyway." She said to herself, her face warming up a little at the thought…..before feeling the rest of her body warm up at the thoughts.

AN: A short but sweet decompression chapter is just what we needed I think. It's good to have these once in a while. Plus after how long the last chapter was, I kind of needed a break XD. We also got a few indications for what's next! Miruko was the one hero I wanted Mako to work with as an intern and you'll see why next chapter. Also things get a little steamy with Mako and Melissa.

Also this is the anniversy of this fic being made! Time sure does fly huh? 24 chapters in one year. So basically two chapters a month! That's pretty good to be honest. With over 500 reviews, follows, and favorites each!

And now reviews:

Avenger: Ahhhh, welcome to the club my friend, the Invincible comic is one of my favorite comic book series period mainly because it's a complete story.

Sarcasam Sage626: Well now you know what Tech Jacket will be doing!

LOL: Petty much the same in the show? I mean there's some times in the comic that Ottley makes Mark look less angular and more soft? I just sort of picture how he is in the comics in my head over the show, that's nothing against the show but it's just because it's been in my head for way longer.

Guest: No being caught red handed just means being caught in the middle of the act, the act being him in his small might form.

Vtrox: Um….ok see I don't know If I should say spoiler warning or not….ok on the safe side, spoilers for the comic, I think that Mark got so strong so fast because he's being a superhero every single day and pushing himself in some way. And he and Thragg are pretty evenly matched, at that point he was already stronger than his own dad so it's not hard to imagine that he was on thragg's level. And Mark isn't really even trained in the comic or show, it's mostly just experience.

Guest: I was actually torn on who to have him intern with, specifically due to the events of MHA Vigilantes and how it ends. But it was always going to be an hero from MHA.
