Rematch

Shigaraki was in a fowl mood, when he released the Nomus on Hosu city, he had expected there to be national, possibly global news coverage of the event, which in turn would spread awareness of the League of Villains. However what should all the news outlets cover instead of that? The stupid hero killer being captured by Invincible and Endeavor. "God why don't they tell real news anymore?" the villain leader asked irately as he scrolled through an article on his phone. The villain leader pocketed his phone and leaned his elbows onto the bar he was sitting at, behind the counter Kurogiri's smokey form whisped into existence in front of him.

The aqua haired teen looked up at his partner in crime, "Is everything set?" he asked.

Kurogiri's head nodded, "Yes, getting the route for the police escort was easy. However I still don't know about sending the Nomu I just recovered." He admitted.

Shigaraki growled in annoyance, "I don't want to either. But Stain being free helps us, if he gets out it not only embarrasses the heroes for not being able to protect them." He said holding up a finger before a second one raised beside it, "Also, while I think he's a complete ass, Stain being out there will take the heat off us while they try and re-capture him. They already think that we're affiliated with him, but unlike us, he doesn't know when to lie low." He explained, recalling how fast Stain wanted to return to his quest of killing heroes he thought were unworthy.

Kurogiri hummed, "I see, so it's a tactical decision. Well done young master." He praised.

Shigaraki gave him a dry look, "Hey he's an asshole, but he's actually still valuable to us…..unfortunately." he said bitterly. Stain's criticism of his ideals still got under his skin from a few nights ago. But despite the conflict of their ideologies he couldn't just ignore the fact that Stain's methods were effective, the fact that he made the entire heroic work force of Japan nervous wasn't lost on him. But the fact that he wouldn't work with the League was disappointing.

But this afforded him an opportunity to further hurt the hero community, unlike the comic books of old, supervillains didn't break out of prison miraculously every other week. And even when a breakout did occur it was rare, especially in Japan where prisons like Tartarus existed. However it wasn't impossible, and they were gong to prove that today.

Invincible flew through the sky of Hosu City with his eyes set on the central hospital, still wearing his costume he landed on the roof of the medical center as the front entrance was crowded with press and reporters. New had broken out that Stain was being treated here and people were desperate to get a shot of him before he was transferred to the supermax prison Tartarus. He and Mirko were scheduled to oversee the transfer later today, but Mako had a few hours before that was needed, and Mirko had told him to go on ahead while she finished the paperwork she needed to fill out, This is what you get for holding off on the paperwork and instead going out on patrol. Invincible thought a little cheekily as he entered the hospital via the roof entrance.

While Mirko was admittedly a little battle crazy, Mako did overall enjoy working under her for the internship. Her endurance training was actually starting to pay off, the day before they had gone on patrol and he didn't feel as tired as he did when he first joined her a few days ago. And he also enjoyed that working with her allowed him to stop crimes on a regular level, something he really hadn't done much of with his work at the GDA.

Mako shook these thoughts aside as he exited the elevator of the hospital and entered the lobby, Man how ironic that the place stain is being held is also where Izuku and the others are being treated? He thought as he caught sight of a familiar mop of green hair over by the phones. Walking over he saw his friend take the phone away from his ear before prmply turning red as a tomato, Mako had a pretty good idea who he was on the phone with before sneaking up behind him, "So, how's Uraraka?" he asked.

Izuku shrieked at the sudden question as he whirled around, his friend grinning as Deku pointed an accusing finger at him, "YOU! How-What? What….what are you talking about?" he asked, leaning onto the crutch he was using to get around while his foot healed. Trying to feign ignorance as he knew his friend had….suspicions about certain feelings which…..may or may not exist.

"I mean you just lit up like the sun and considering there's only one girl's number on your phone?" Mako shrugged his shoulders as Izuku sloched. Mako patted his shoulder, "Relax. Seriously, how is she?" he asked genuinely.

Izuku's hand ruffled his hair, "She's fine, she was a little worried when I sent that text out to everyone, me, Todoroki and Iida all got our phones back today so I just wanted to clear things up." He explained as they began making their way back to the elevator. "How about you? Your going to be moving the hero killer today?" he asked, approaching the elevator which Mako hit the button for.

"Yeah," he nodded, "Mirko is getting her paperwork done. I just went over the route we'll be taking a few more times. It's a long way to Tartarus from here." He admitted.

The elevator doors opened and the pair stepped inside, "Speaking of which….I've been meaning to say something." Invincible admitted as the door closed.

Izuku turned to him with his head slightly tilted, "I know that….I know that ever sine we started going to U.A. I've been pretty….protective of you." Mako admitted, rubbing the back of his neck while looking down at the ground. "Truth is when I saw what your quirk did? After the initiation test? It scared the hell out of me. I mean three of your limbs were broken." He recalled.

Izkuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly but Mako continued, "So I've just…look your my best friend, I don't like seeing you hurt or broken like that." He said, making Izuku's smile falter, "But I get it, we're heroes, we put our lives on the line and sometimes…..we get hurt." He said lowly, "Sometimes…..other people get hurt." His friend's frown deepened, "But with Stain? I stand by what I said, you guys did a great job, I mean you three took him down without any help. And you didn't break a single bone doing it." He said with a small smile.

Izuku looked down at his foot, "Still got hurt though."

Mako shook his head, "Yeah but that's not the point, the point is that…..you've really come a long way. I mean you helped me take down the Kresh leader during the invasion, you helped stop the Hero Killer…..and last night all I was worried about was if you'd be ok but…..I underestimated you." Mako admitted. He sighed, "I did exactly what Bakugo does, I didn't think you were…..ready for this sort of thing. Only instead of being an asshole about it I was just….coddling you….and I'm sorry."

Izuku stared at his friend before a smile stretched across his face, his hand that wasn't on his crutch reached out and grasped his shoulder, "Mako, you never made me feel like that. You were worried about me, and I really appreciate it…..but I'm also glad that you don't see that I need it…..I still have a ways to go though." He admitted, looking down.

Mako scoffed, "Says who? Bakugo? Your doing great man, few weeks ago you broke your arm every time you used your quirk. Now your able to do hero work. That's real progress. Feel proud of it!" he encouraged as the elevator opened.

The two friends exited the elevator with smile as they walked to the room Izuku, Shoto, and Iida were all residing in. Entering the room, the two friends saw Iida and Todoroki sitting on their beds, "Hey guys." Mako greeted.

"Mako, Midoriya." Shoto said in a serious voice that made the two stop as the door swung shut behind them. "Iida just got his diagnosis."

The two friends sized up slightly at the news, Iida looked down at his arms that were in slings, "My left hand….could have permanent damage." He began. "Both my arms were injuried but the left arm was the worst of it. But they said I might regain most of the feeling, and use of my hand and fingers if I get a nerve transplant." He explained.

Mako and Izuku both let out a breath of relief, "That's good to hear." Izuku said.

Iida's eyes flickered up to them before looking back down, "When I found the hero killer…I should have told Manual before anything else. And as much as I hate him….he wasn't wrong with what he said about me." He responded.

"Iida, I get your still beating yourself up and maybe some of it is justified, but Stain is a grade A psycho. He's as bad as Sinclare." He said spitefully. "He may have made sense but his reasoning is beyond screwed up."

Iida looked up at him with conflict in his eyes, "I know but…I feel like I'm being let off too easily for my mistake…..maybe I should hold off on getting the sugery….until I become a true hero." He pondered aloud.

Mako gaffawed, "Dude if you feel this bad about it? Then trust me, next time that something like this happens? You won't need a scar or something to remind you." He said knowingly.

Iida looked at him and though the mask he wore covered his eyes, he knew that there was a sadness underneath the lenses covering them. Sometimes it's easy to forget what he's been though. The Tenya sibling thought to himself. He nodded in understanding, "I see….thank you Mako."

Izuku raised his hand slightly, "Iida, we'll get stronger together." He said in solidarity.

Shoto looked between them as realization dawned on his face, the three other looked at him curiously, "I'm sorry….whenever I'm involved it feels like people's hands get messed up…." He said looking down at his own with a little bit of sweat, "Am I cursed?" he asked himself.

The three boys burst into laughter at the comical sight, "I'm serious….I might be the hand crusher."

The work that the Muller Twins usually took on was means to an end, the equipment needed to run their experiments wasn't something that someone with a criminal record could easily gain access too through legitimate means, but money or equal technology traded to the right people could give them what they desired. For instance their break in at I-Island to get motherboards from the Island's defense system was going to be used to get them equipment needed to create their own software that could infiltrate government agencies and prevent alarms from being set off.

Robot's commission from them, while odd for them, wasn't the first time they had used their intelligence to help provide for themselves. In this instance the reward for providing a cloned body for the machine man was a fairtrade for access to blueprints for the teleporter that the GDA used. As they worked on the growth pod where the body would form inside however, the Robot drone watched them without falter…and it was starting to get a little creepy.

"Alright the pod is ready….now the part that's going to take a while." One of the twins said, pushing the goggles that were covering his eyes up to his forehead before turning to Robot. "I assume that you brought a sample of DNA for us to clone?" he asked.

The machine man held out his pal, where a silt opened producing a vial of blood, "I have to reiterate that the genetic sequence needs to be altered so the body can survive in open air." The automaton cautioned. The Muller Twin gave him an exasperated expression before gently taking the vial and sliding it into a section of the machine.

"Yes you've explained that, but you also realize that by altering your genetic code, it could also affect your quirk correct?" he asked as the other twin worked on the computer, a pair of thick rimmed glasses over his eyes turned at the sound of the conversation.

"The clone is right. If your quirk is tied to your condition due to a genetic mutation? Then by altering your DNA to not develop that gene, it could get rid f your quirk as well." He explained.

The other twin gave him a look at being called a clone, but Robot ignored him, "I am well aware, I've run dozens of medical scans over the years on my body and I'm positive that the two are unrelated. My quirk affected the genetic makeup of my actual brain, it allows me to absorb information as well as interact with wireless networks via my own electromagnetic field." Robot explained to them as he pointed to the head of his automation. "The body is a genetic mutation from my parents, their quirks were compatible with one another, however they ignored what the genetic histories of their families held and so I was born with recessive genes for my immune system."

The Muller at the computer cupped his chin, "I see, I've heard of cases like this. When quirk marriages were more popular issues like this would arise. It's part of the reason people don't do it anymore." He recalled.

The other Muller Twin rolled his eyes at the conversation, "Regardless, if your sure about it then it shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure that you hold up your end of the bargin." He said to the android the placement of the head and mouth making it look like it was always smirking.

"Of course, the teleportation technology which the GDA uses will be at your disposal." The Robot replied.

When Mirko arrived at the hospital, Mako had to say farewell to his friends and get to work, "Alright, I'm in position boss." Invincible said into the earpiece he had, floating high above the hospital. Surveying the surrounding buildings, he kept his eyes peeled for any signs of suspicious activity, as well as anyone on the rooftops who could overlook the hospital or the route that they would be using to escort the prisoner on. "Alright, initial area looks clear, I'll scout ahead like we planned."

'Rodger. I'll bring up the rear when the transport gets started.' Mirko said in tone that was a mixture of frustration and boredom. Suffice to say the pro hero was NOT looing forward to the assignment.

Invincible smirked to himself as he flew ahead at a steady speed, "Wow we finally found the one thing that even Mirko doesn't like doing for hero work." He replied teasingly.

'Oh bite me runt. It's just babysitting, the only time it gets exciting is if they escape or someone tries to break them out and it never happens.' The Rabbit hero explained as she followed the armor car out of the parking lot on foot.

Invincible blinked beneath his goggles, "Wait which is worse, this, or stakeouts?" he asked.

"Oh stakeouts. It's just waiting around for hours for something that may not even happen, feels like a waste of my time." Mirko replied easily.

Invincible shrugged, "I don't know, I mean you can grab a bite to eat while you wait, listen to music or whatever, this we have to keep our guards up." He retorted as he swooped down towards the rooftops and circle around a turn that the convoy would take.

"Meh, we're grabbing a bite after this. Plus at least we stay active like this, you told me that flying is like a muscle for you right? Well consider this a jog." She replied on a more positive note.

Invincible chuckled, "Anyone ever tell you that you're a workout nut?" he asked, the past few days working with Mirko showing him that she didn't waste a moment if she could.

He could swear he could hear the smirk she had as she replied, "Hell yeah I am runt! I live life fast and with no regrets, any day could be my last so why not live like it?" she asked him.

The Viltrumite blinked at the response, "That's…..kind of bleak boss, I mean I get the mentality but…." He trailed off, not sure how to continue without sound disrespectful…..but then again Mirko was about as blunt as a brick through a window. "…well it sounds like you don't have a life outside of work." He finished.

He swore he could hear her squawk at the other end of the comm, "Wha-I have a life you little runt!" she denied.

"Really? What do you do outside of work?" he asked coyly.

He heard her huff, "You want to know? Fine, I cook." She replied, causing Invincible to blink in disbelief.

"Really?" he asked.

"Yeah. What about you runt? What's your hobby?" she asked challengingly.

He shrugged his shoulders, "I read comic books, picked up my pull box before I started the internship." He explained. He was met with silence across the comm, "Mirko you there?"

"…..oh god you're a lame nerd aren't you?" she asked.

"Hey! I'm not lame! Comic books are awesome." He said factually as he looked down, on the road ahead he could see a few officers blocking off the entrance to the freeway that the transport would be taking. Again, just as planned. "Besides this coming from the professional superhero?" he asked with a smirk.

"Pfft. Whatever, you do you kid. Just because I don't get it doesn't make it wrong." She shrugged off.

The teen smirked a little at her attitude, "So….what's your favortie thing to cook?" he asked.

"I mostly like things with lots of vegetables. Just tried a Columbian dish a few nights ago." She revealed as the transport truck entered the highway.

"Man it's been forever since I had anything like that." He bemoaned, lately most of his meals were fast food that he picked up on his way back home from his work at the GDA. He had a big meal at home after being captured by the Kresh that his mom had made for him as both welcome back, and the fact he was just plain starving.

Mirko snorted, "Really? When's the last time you-"

KRAKOOM!

Invincible spun around at the loud crashing sound as a crater of dust shot out from the highway before the entire road began to fracture apart! "Shit!" Invincible exclaimed before shooting down from the sky, "Mirko stop the transport! The freeway is collapsing from something hitting it!" he said into his com as he flew down though he plume of dust that swirled from the teen flying through it at such high speeds, Didn't even think of someone attacking from beneath the road! He thought as he swiped his hands through the air to try and clear some of the dust away to no avail, Shit I can't see anything….wait a second….there's that one trick I saw dad do a few times. And if he can do it…. He thought as he drew both his arms out before quickly slapping them together with enough power to cause a small shockwave that made the dust dissapte away from him and reveal the chunk of the freeway that had fallen onto a few buildings.

The smaller buildings were already beginning to buckle beneath the weight of the massive slab of concrete that was weighing down upon them. Darting down in a yellow and blue blur, Invincible gripped the side of the freeway and pushed up enough for him to fly underneath, his arms supporting the weight over his head as he lifted it up off the buildings as the civilians with them flooded out onto the streets below.

Meanwhile with Mirko, the rabbit hero flipped back across the ground as she tried to regain her footing, her feet planted on the concrete behind her to slow her speed to a halt. Looking up her red eyes locked onto the villain who had knocked her back towards the armored truck as the police officers got out of their cars with their guns drawn. Out of the crater that formed from the impact of something landing on the road, stood a Nomu, unlike the ones that Mirko had dealt with last night this one was black is ink and possibly the bulkiest one she's ever seen.

The number 5 hero smirked wickedly, "Oh hell yeah! This just became fun!" she said before launching herself from her position at the Nomu. However it did the same, something that made her eyes widen, she quickly adjusted and raised her leg earlier than she would, an axe kick landed squarely onto the creature's left shoulder. The heroine's eyes widened when the creature didn't so much as flinch from the attack. "Wait what the fu-" she began before the Nomu sideswiped her away with a backhand.

Mirko defected off a streetlamp and off the side of the freeway, flipping around in midair, she landed on the ground with enough force to crack the ground, grabbing her arm which now had a purple bruise from hitting that street lamp, she looked up ad growled, "You sonofavbitch you don't just ignore me!" she exclaimed in rage before launching herself back up to the highway, stepping up onto the side of the railing, she arrived in time to see the Nomu grabbing one of the police officers by the head.

"NO!" she yelled before launching herself towards the Nomu.

She didn't make it fast enough as the Nomu crushed the guard's head into a bloody pulp. Mirko growled in rage as she double dropkicked the Nomu in the back of the head making it stumble, "You beaty eyed bastard!" she yelled, falling back onto her hands as the Nomu turned and swung it's arm back at her and missed. She sprung back off her hands as it's fist came down where she was, indenting the ground. Flipping back into a crouch, Mirko glared at the monster as it looked up at her. "I'm going to rip your goddamn head off for that." She threatened factually.

As the Nomu lunged at her, Invincible flew in and uppercutted the creature into the air, the teen whirled around to her, "Mirko! You ok?!" he asked before noticing the body of one of the officers while the others were behind the cover of their cars with panicked looks on their faces. "Oh god." He muttered before shaking his head. "Everyone get in your cars! Get out of here! Go! We'll take it from here!" he shouted before turning to Mirko, "The road is out ahead, I'm guessing the big guy is why." He said.

Mirko frowned "Shit. We can't risk them taking Stain back the way we came towards the center of the city with this thing gunning for him."

Invincible did a double take at that, "What?"

She nodded, "When it first appeared it went straight for the armored car, I got in it's way and slowed it down." She told him as the police officers drove off in retreat from the scene. The heroine turned to her intern, "You fought this thing before right? How do we beat it?" she asked.

Invincible shrugged, "Didn't so much as beat it as I just took it into space and suffocated it. But apparently that didn't work!" he said as it finally crashed down onto the road back the way they came. Invincible shot off at the monster while Mirko ordered the transport to take route B before running after him. The Nomu looked up as Mako smashed into it, it's hands rising up to catch the teen's as it was dragged back across the ground, "Surprised? I've been working out." Invincible said before pulling the arms apart and swinging his foot upside the Nomu's head, making it falter as the teen followed up with a combination of punches to it's head before it struck back with it's own, knocking the teen back before Mirko flew towards him with a spinning axe kick to the Nomu's head, making it's head smash into the ground.

Landing behind the Nomu, Mirko leapt up into the air with her leg raised, as she brought it down however the monster's hand shot up and grabbed her by her ankle and was slammed down onto the pavement, the Rabbit hero recoiled as her back cracked the ground, peeking out through a scrunched up fce, she swung her other foot up into the side of the Nomu's head, the force not making it let go. Shit! I don't have enough momentum to hit it hard enough! She realized before Invincible flew in and slammed into the Nomu's chest with his shoulder first.

"Ok considering you don't need to breathe, that limits how I can really beat you." Invincible said, punching the Nomu in the chest with arm as he pushed him back. The creature was designed to kill All Might, and as strong as Mako had gotten since the last fight he had with this thing, he wasn't at that level of strength yet. So he needed to get creative, he reached up to the Nomu's beak and grabbed both the top and bottom with one hand, "Considering your brain is exposed, I'm going to assume that's your weak spot." He told the monster as he raised his elbow up before dropping down onto the exposed gray matter.

The blow didn't so much as hurt the creature as much as stun it, but Invincible took it as a good sign and dropped his elbow again, and again, and again! Each strike making the Nomu stagger slightly, however it didn't last as the creature grabbed the sides of the Viltrumite and leapt up into the air with him, as they began to fall however, Invincible recognized what was happening from their last fight at the USJ and halted himself, "Nice try but I'm not going to be your landing strategy!" he said, the teen breaking the monster's grip.

As it fell down through the air, Mirko launched herself at it from the freeway, spinning around like a top with her leg outstretched, "LUNAR ARC!" she called out before smashing her foot into the side of the Nomu and launched it though the air and into the side of am office building.

As she began to fall through the air, Invincible flew down and grabbed her arm, "Please tell me that building is empty." He asked.

"Relax, I checked with my hearing, but that still didn't do any damage! What the hell?" she asked.

Invincible flew up towards the hole she made with the Nomu, "This thing was made to kill All Might, it can absorb blows and even regenerate if it takes too much damage. But the way I figure? It's body may have automatic quirks but if the brain is destroyed? Well the body won't work anymore." He reasoned.

Mirko nodded grimly, "Alright then let's-" she began before the Nomu charged out of the hole and slammed into them, Invincible dropping Mirko as the teen was tackled back onto the freeway. The Nomu's fists crashed down on the teen, his right lens shattering from one of the punches as his head was driven further and further into the ground. Another blow caused blood to pour from his nose, the next one was caught as Mako braced his feet against the monster's chest and pushed it off him.

The Nomu took it's chance and charged for the prison transport, it's massive arms easily ripping the back doors of the transport off, revealing the sole occupant inside. Sitting on the lone seat with metal clasps holding his arms and legs in place, with his arms already bound with heavy duty cuffs that covered his hands up to his forearms and chains linking his feet together, the prisoner looked up tiredly. A mask covered the lower section of his face but still allowed him to breathe or speak if needed, the sight of the large Nomu creature would normally cause either terror or relief, but Stain felt neither, he instead felt something like disappointment.

"I suppose there were no real heroes that they sent to guard me then." He said with disappointment.

A pair of hands grabbed the sides of the Nomu's head, "Oh no you don't!" Invincible told the creature before pulling it back and pulling the creature over his shoulder by the head, slammed it into the ground with enough force to shake the transport! Invincible's knees pinned down on the monster's back while his hands grabbed it's head and pulled back with all his might. "Come…..on….you…..dumb….monster!" he grunted in frustration as he pulled back on the head with all the leverage he could get without lifting off from the creature.

"That's it runt! Keep him wide open!" Invincible looked down to see Mirko sprinting full speed towards him, lunging at the pair of the hero and his captured villain. He lower body trailed behind her but swung her dominant foot forward with everything right into the underside of the Nomu's head.

SCLOOOSH!

Blood covered Invincible's face from the tearing of the Nomu's neck, he didn't dwell on the splatter though and instead shot up from the ground with the Nomu's head in his hands. "Let's try this again shall we?" he asked the head as he shot up through the clouds, the blood on his face drying from the heat of him exiting the earth's atmosphere as he reached the low orbit of space. And just for good measure… he thought as he grabbed the brain of the Nomu with one hand and reeled his arm back before spinning forward and then pitching the head with all his might into space with all he could manage.

The teen watched as the head disappeared into the void od space, it's shape getting smaller and smaller until he couldn't see it any more. And stay out! He thought before turning around and flying back down to earth. As soon as he passed into the ozone around the planet he let out the breath he had held and took another one. "Ok that's enough Nomus for one day." He said to himself as he flew back down towards where he took off from. Spotting the freeway from the air, he half expected the body of the creature to be moving around with Mirko trying to stop it, but to his relief it was instead still laying on the ground with a large pool of blood oozing out of the neck hole.

Mirko stood beside it breathing heavily as her intern landed on the other side of the monster, she looked up at him and nodded, "The head?" she asked breathlessly.

He nodded and pointed up, "Space." He simply answered. She nodded in approval, Invincible glanced at the torn open transport. "So….what about him?" he asked as he finally got a second t breathe.

Mirko groaned, "The truck is trashed, and it'll take forever to get another one….." she said before glancing between the truck and Mako before shaking her head. She couldn't ask him to fly the truck to Tartarus, it looked like it could fall apart at any second.

"I could just fly him there." Invincible volunteered.

Mirko shook her head, "No you can't that's not safe."

"Safe?" Invincible balked, "Didn't we just fight a manmade weapon that was made to kill All Might?" he asked sketpically. "And even if he somehow did get me with his quirk and make me freeze in midair? Then we'd just be there in midair until his quirk wears off." He reasoned.

Mirko looked between him and the prisoner, "Screw it, fine." She said, Mako nodding before hopping up into the transport and undoing the links that kept Stain chained to the car. Escorting him out, he floated up behind him before looping his arms underneath Stain's and lifted him up into the air.

Flying across the sky, Stain couldn't help but look down at the city below, Invincible noticed, "Buddy if your worried I'm going to drop you, don't, I can bend steel with these hands, they're not letting go." He assured the villain.

Stain was quiet only for a moment before replying, "That creature. You killed it." He said simply.

Invincible looked down at him with confusion, "Because it was gong to let you out and I don't want any more of my friend's having their families butchered because of you. Or anyone being butchered in general." He shot back snarky. "Besides that thing wasn't even human anymore. Just a monster."

Stain grunted, and Invincible rolled his eyes, "Why am I even talking to you? You killed people, your a bad guy, not some guy who had to do something bad for a reason."

Stain's head tilted back, "Of course I had a reason." He said plainly, "Tell me, why do you think I was going to kill your friend?"

"I don't know, your sword slipped?" Mako replied flippantly.

"He's not a hero. He only wanted revenge for what happened to his brother." He stated.

Invincible did a double take, "His bro-you did that! If he's a villain then it's your fault for it!" He rebutted. "If you just didn't hurt him, you know like a normal person, then you wouldn't have made Iida do that!" he argued.

Stain scoffed, "A real hero wouldn't let his emotions guide his actions. And because he can do it, he shouldn't be allowed to continue as a hero. The next time he loses himself to his emotions, he may not be stopped."

Invincible looked down at him, there a sort of twisted logic to what he was saying, if Iida could do this once he could do it again. But the answer wasn't killing him obviously, he knew his friend wouldn't let himself live this down, but that was Iida….what about everyone else? Despite his actions in the Invasion of earth, there where still people who didn't like him, it wasn't as loud now but they were still there. And he doubted they'd ever change their minds.

Hell what better example was there then Izuku and Bakugo, Izuku was still the same person he's always been, a kind selfless person who admires heroes. Only now he wasn't bullied into silence by Bakugo, someone whose always had a chip on his shoulder and still thinks that he's above everyone else, "So what? Heroes are supposed to be perfect? We're all people man, people make mistakes, and when they're bad then they should be punished sure, but motivation isn't a reason why." He argued.

"If motivation is what drives a hero, doesn't that matter?' Stain asked plainly, "Why are you doing this then?"

"Because it's the right thing to do?" he replied.

Stain's gaze lowered, "If more heroes shared that ideal, then the world would be a better place. But they don't. It's simple."

Invincible wanted to groan, this was like talking to a brick wall, so instead of indulging the Hero Killer any further, he continued on in silence as they flew over the ocean, a bridge below leading out to the steel fortress that was the supermax prison known as Tartarus.

After handing Stain over to the proper authorities, Mako retuned to Mirko as the GDA recovered the remains of the Nomu for study like they had done for the others, after that the intern and his mentor continued their training for the following days until the end of the week was upon them, as well as the end of the internship. "Thanks again for all you've done Mirko." He said gratefully as he slung his bag over his shoulder. The number five hero smirked at him confidently, "Even if it did make me want to throw you through a wall sometimes." He added.

"Pffft. Whatever runt, like you could even get a hand on me." She mocked, recalling their training session where she was able to outmaneuver him within a small space while Mako worked to try and increase his reaction time. "I gotta say though, glad I decided to take you on. You actually managed to keep up." She said earnestly, "Guess I made the right choice sending the offer your way."

Mako smiled and nodded in agreement before lifting off from the ground, "If you ever need a hand with anything-" he began to offer before she waved him off, "Ok yeah I figured, but still had to offer." He said before taking off through the air giving her a wave goodbye as he flew away and turned into the sky and began his way home.

As he flew across the wards below him, Mako reached into his pocket and scrolled through the messages of his class's chat room. Everyone was in route back home for school tomorrow, which many of them were complaining about considering they just finished internships today, but as he expected Iida and the others were not engaging as much. Suddenly a reminder popped up on his phone, "Oh hey it's new comic book day!" he realized, taking a sudden turn though the air in the direction of his favorite comic book store.

After the entire affair with his dad, going out in public places wasn't the best idea, however things had thankfully calmed down more to the point he could return to his regular places without fear of shunning. Which meant his bi-weekly trips to the comic book store were back on!

Floating down from the sky, he saw the comic book store he had been visiting for years now, the front of the store having a large lowercase 'i' for it's name, Image Comics.

Landing in front of the store, he saw someone exiting and held the door open for them to exit through with the bag in their hands. Entering behind them, he smiled at the rows of long boxes containing older comic books and the racks displaying the new releases. Mako walked up to the register, "Hey Akira." He greeted the owner, the older man looked up from the comic he was reading and smiled at him.

"Mako! Good to see you, saw you on the news the other day." He greeted, "Sure I can't talk you into sponsoring our store? I mean you have the branding down." He jokingly invited as he walked over to a wall of mail boxes and took out the comics in one with Mako's name on it.

The teen smiled, "Maybe some day, but not until I learn about how that works in school." He said before taking his bag and handing the man his credit card. Flipping through the comics had collected he smiled, "I'm glad you talked me into giving Haunt a chance, I mean the writer's last work didn't really go to well towards the end there."

"Yeah I think all the hate mail he got was a little much, I mean at the end of the day it's just a story. It's not something to get upset over." The owner added.

Mako made and iffy motion with his hand, "Ehhhhh kind of depends on what they did. I mean I'm still not picking up that one science dog collection because the editor just completely decided to push their own agenda and ideas and ignored the fans. You hear that when someone asked him about it, he just said, 'Well your not going to get that.'? Like what kind of response is that to fans who want the character to grow?"

The owner shook his head, "This is why I like indie books, creators control most everything and the editors are just there to help. Oh that reminds me! The writer for science dog is going to come to the store next week and is doing signings." He added, snapping his fingers as he recalled the upcoming event.

Mako's eyes widened in excitement, "Seriously that's awesome! I gotta bring some books in for him to sign!" he said as he was charged for his comics for the week. Leaving the comic book store, the teen smiled happily to himself. My internship is over, I got some comics, and I got to beat my first big bad guy again. All in all, pretty good day. He thought happily as he put the bag of comics into his backpack as he walked down the sidewalk, as the viltumite was about to take off however, someone quickly brushed past him down an alleyway, turning his head he saw a girl who was maybe a foot shorter than him with two messy blonde buns.

Mako shrugged it off at first, however as he was about to continue his walk away, a pair of boys about his age in a school uniforms brushed past him in a hurry, "Which way did she go?" one of them asked as he looked around. The other tapped his shoulder and gestured to the alleyway, "Alright then, she wants to tease us like that, only fair she gets what's coming." He said before following his friend into the alley.

That particular comment made some alarm bells go off in Mako's head as he turned around and walked after them. Walking down the alleyway, the viltumite saw the two boys corner the girl from either side, to her credit she didn't seem the least bit intimidated by them, "Excuse me." Mako said as he approached them, the trio all looked at him, "What exactly is going on here?' he asked firmly.

One of the boys scoffed, "None of your business, how about you keep on walking?" he threatened, his hand raising up as rocks formed on his knuckles. Mako had to fight the urge to laugh, "Hey! What are you smirking at?" He was failing.

Mako chortled, "Listen, you really don't want to start anything, so how about you go home? Leave this young lady alone, forget this whole thing, and not do something like this again?" he suggested as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"Or what?" the boy's friend challenged, reaching down and picking up a discarded wooden board from beside a dumpster.

Mako opened his mouth but closed it, he didn't want to knock these guys around and scare the girl with how strong he was. And he also couldn't just let these guys off to do something like this again, they needed a lesson, "Tell you what? You go ahead and try, see what happens." He challenged with a shrug.

The first boy approached him with a tight fist that he threw right into Mako's face, "GAH!" he yelled as he held his now cracked knuckles.

"See? That's what happened." Mako said, pointing at the boy's hand. The other one swung the wooden board into his shoulder, the wood splintering upon contact from how hard the boy swung. "That as well. So, want to not do this?" he suggested.

The rocky hand boy kicked his foot out right between Mako's legs.

To his credit, it made Mako flinch, but the boy was now holding his foot, "AHH! My toe! My toe is broken!" he yelped.

"This uh…..this is starting to get a little sad guys." the teen said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly as the one boy hopped on one leg while his friend looked around for some other weapon.

"Screw this! No bitch is worth this!" the one with the broken toe said as he turned, only for Mako to grab him by the back of his shirt, "Hey!"

"See why did you have to say that? Now you got to apologize." Mako said firmly while his other friend looked on in fear while broken toe was being held up by this seemingly indestructible teen with only one hand.

"W-What?"

"Apologize for calling her that. Now." Mako threatened as he walked over to the girl who watching this all unfold with a befuddled expression.

"I-I;m sorry ok?!" he said before being dropped. Scrambling to his feet, Mako watched as the scared and hurt aggressor ran out of the alley with his friend right behind him.

Personally Mako wasn't sure if that was enough punishment for them, but considering that nothing awful happened he didn't see a need to use any actual violence. Turning to the girl he offered a smile, "Sorry about all that, you ok?" he asked.

The girl with deep yellow eyes and messy buns looked up at him before gasping, "Oh my god your Invincible!" she said n recognition. Mako felt is pride swell a little bit, "I almost didn't recognize you without all that blood on your face like in that video."

Mako deflated, "I…..you know that's kind of hurtful but also totally fair." He admitted, he had seen the video of his fight with his dad, and his face looked like someone threw him into a professional boxer's ring afterwards. "Are you alright? Those guys seemed kind of creepy towards you." He asked with concern.

The girl's expression became soft with a pleasant smile, "Oh I was in no trouble with those two, I can handle myself. But it was worth it to meet you!" she gushed as she balled her hands excitedly.

Mako's face warmed up and rubbed the back of his head in appreciation, "That's flattering, but are you sure that your alright? I can fly you home if you want, make sure your safe." He spoke.

The girl's expression faltered slightly at the mention of 'home', but just as Mako noticed her smile was back, "Oh don't need to worry about that." She said before smirking p, "But I wouldn't say no to you wrapping me up in those arms of yours." She purred out, leaning towards him.

Makos hands shot up, "Oh! No, no miss, I'm flattered but I have a girlfriend." He dissuaded, expecting the answer to kill this girl's interest.

"Really?! Oh wow what's she like?" she instead asked, throwing the teen for a loop.

He would have assumed that would turn this little detour sour if he was being honest, "She's smart, supportive, funny, and cute." He answered with a small smile before snorting, "Also she's into video games surprisingly." He said, recalling how their date at the arcade on I-Island showed him how competitive she could get.

The girl cooed affectionately, "Awww! She sounds so nice! I'd love to meet her!"

Mako chuckled, "She unfortunately lives on I-Island."

Confusion etched across the girl's face, "But how do you-" she began before a light bulb went off and she smacked her forehead, "Duh Toga! You can fly!" she remembered, "Aw that's romantic!"

Mako smiled, "Thanks, Toga right?" he asked, she nodded, her hair buns bopping with the movement of her head, "Look I actually got to head home, are you sure your alright?" he asked. He didn't want to just leave without double checking, she nodded again, "Alright then, see you around." He said, floating above the ground and taking off through the sky.

When he was gone, Toga SQUEALED to herself, "Ahhhh he's just as cute in person! Not as cute with all that blood on him though." She added with a glint in her eyes. She shook her head to herself, "But he's got a girlfriend though…well this can still work! If she's as cute as he says then maybe if she's bloody, she'll look as cute as he does." She said, reaching behind her back to pull out the knife she was about to use on the boys before Invincible showed up.

AN: Yes! Another chapter down, and this one isn't insanely long after the last one!

So good news first, I'm graduating! After years in college I'm finally getting my bachelor's in animation and game design…..which honestly you don't really need but hey, bachelor's degree can help you get a job in a lot of places regardless so still, pretty great accomplishment! I'm still continuing this story obviously but I'm also still honing my animation skills so I can at one point get a job doing this for a living.

Now then other good news; next month is Invincibles' 20's anniversary and we're finally getting news on season 2! Along with news about the video game they're developing at skybound, as well as an invincible universe compendium that collects Guarding the Globe, Invincible Universe, Atom Eve and Rex Splode, and other side stories from the invincible universe.

I'm super excited and can't wat to see what's coming, also MHA's season 6 is POPPING OFF. Like damn I didn't expect it to go by this fast!

Now then, onto reviews!

Knightmare Lord: Yeah some people seemed to have expected this awesome confrontation between them but when you put them in a room with one another….stain just kind of looks like a joke in comparison.

Messiah of Authors: Yeah there's a ton of action in this story, probably more then anything else I've written.

Fanfictionor8: That was in reference to Deku, first thing Mako does is save his friend before even acknowledging Stain. And as for the fighting in an alley argument, yes Stain would be maneuverable, but as soon as he tries to attack Mako, he'd just break his sword or Mako would just punch him. And Iida has super speed on his side don't forget. And most of that dialogue isn't said out loud, it's interna monologue. It's one thing I think manga adaptations struggle with. Because manga is a still image written on a page, the action isn't drawn out like in animated format.

Angel Lara-451: I mean Mako is basically Mark but with a name change, and he doesn't get his ass kicked all the time, he's just fighting people who are physically stronger than him. No matter what fighting style he knows, nothing was going to stop his dad from beating him savagely, Mako just was not on a strong enough level to do any damage to his dad who is older and stronger than him. And as I recall we never get any implication that the U.A. staff teaches the kids to fight.

I mean it's kind of dumb but they really just throw kids into a class and tell them to fight, I mean Izuku has a fighting style but it's completely self taught. He learned techniques from others yes, but we never see anyone teaching him how to fight with his powers.

ColeMcGrath-TheElectricMan: I mean I understand it in principal, if your quirk is shooting lasers out of your eyes, you shouldn't just rush in and play hero and wind up killing someone. But it's dumb that you can't use it for self defense.

Guest 3: I mean we see Shigaraki decay an entire city twice, so yeah I think it could, but superman also has an insane healing factor that Viltrumites don't have. And even then Viltrumites are nowhere near as durable as kryptonians.

Question: Honestly? I think I just planned this one out MUCH better, back when I was writing the RWBY/Spider-Man fanfic, I just wrote each chapter at a time and had a general idea in my head of what was going to happen. But for this one I spent like a few weeks planning out an outline for the series up to Season 4, after this season I'm probably going to plan everything up to season 6. So it's not so much passion as it is better planning and execution of that planning.

Sarcasm Sage 626: Oh I like long ones like these! OK:

As much as I like seeing things being looked at in depth, I feel like it'd get repetitive to see Mako and Mirko fight sub par bad guys for an entire chapter. Maybe that could be fun if there's like a running thing throughout it of Mako and Mirko talking about something, like the ins and outs of hero work but that could just as quickly turn into a slog as well like you said.

I mean Shigaraki just sort of unleashes them as a terrorism act if anything, I actually misremembered and thought he wanted them to go after stain or something but no, he just does it. And yeah I wrote that line after having to work black Friday and just CRASHED when I got home. Super relatable.

Yeah it's also kind of screwed up because Mako can't really do anything about it, he can't just threaten the no. 2 hero out of the blue. And there's way more important stuff going on then this sort of thing.

And yeah I understand that stain is an intimidating presence, and maybe it was because the heroes aren't used to someone THAT intense, but it's kind of ridiculous that no one does anything to stop him.

And I'm glad you caught that with Mako, he has a way of thinking that's not like everyone else and it's going to get more apparent going forward.

Guest: Honestly it's probably because after my spider-man story I kept getting bombed with messages about how much of an asshole I was for what choices I made. And I just got tired of it, I've honestly been considering doing the same on here for the exact same reason.

Guest: Honestly I don't think I'm going forward with the Spider-Man/RWBY reboot; lot of people are still sore about how the original went and honestly the more ideas I explored, the less Spidey seemed to fit into an overall narrative of RWBY.
