Onwards and Upwards

Mako sat across from Tech Jacket on the surface of the moon, the pair watching as the Geldarain mothership floated in Earth's Orbit, a small station the size of a house being constructed in orbit around the planet with the Geldarians using their own Tech Jackets to construct it. The now repaired space helmet allowed Mako to communicate in the vacuum to his friend, who was taking the departure hard. While he was happy to be home on Earth after being gone for so long, he alien people had made him feel a part of their community, he was their champion and now they didn't need him to protect them. "You ok man?" Mako asked, patting the suit wearer on the shoulder.

Zack looked over at him, his visor's eyes shrinking in a sad expression as he took a breath, "I'll be ok…..I mean I get it, they can't just stay here on Earth. And the Coalition of Planets will probably be the best thing for them in hopes of finding a new home world." He reasoned before looking up at the ship. "But….I'm going to miss Lin." He admitted.

Mako nodded solemnly, it was somewhat obvious that he and princess of the Gedlarians were involved with each other. But she had a duty to her people, and he couldn't just leave his life on Earth just to be with her. "I just…this sucks man." He said, his foot swinging back before kicking a rock out into space.

The Viltrumite nodded sympathetically, "Yeah….well on the bright side, you now have your own space station." Mako said, gesturing to the house sized station that was being completed.

As thanks for not only helping them defeat the threat of the Kresh, but also allowing them to stay on Earth while they repaired their ship, the Geldrains offered to construct a orbiting lookout that Earth could use to monitor anything from deep space that their technology wasn't able to detect. And of course the only person they trusted implicitly with such technology was Zack, who was the only one who could access it. So Cecil had pulled some strings like he had with Mako, and made Zack Earth's orbital threat assessment operator, meaning that if he got whiff of anything heading for them that they didn't already see, to give Cecil a call.

"…I mean….it is pretty cool." Zack admitted. "They actually set up the portal to it at my place. It's pretty neat." The teen admitted as his boosters emerged from his back and gently took off from the Moon with Invincible flying beside him towards Earth.

Seeing Tech Jacket's helmet glance over at the ship, Mako spoke up, "So um, how's prepping for the finals coming along?" the groan he got in response was telling, "That bad huh?" he asked.

"You have no idea! I missed months of school and then I had to transfer over to Japan from America! I mean thank god for this suit, it's able to translate Japanese to English for me so I can speak and read stuff easier, but I've been cramming for a whole semester!" he complained as they entered Earth's Atmosphere.

Mako winced, "Oh man that sucks." He sympathized, "Wait….can't your tech jacket just retain the information for you?"

"Oh it does, but the practical stuff I've been having to do outside of school as well with Vlad King, while I learn all the new lessons as well." He said before sighing. "I mean it could be worse, WAY worse. But it's just a lot, I mean the past few weeks I've just been going to home, then school, back and forth with no time in between. Today is the first time I've gotten any real time to myself and I had to spend it watching my girlfriend take off."

Mako winced again as the topic he was trying to take Zack's mind off reared it's head once again, "I heard you guys have a study group going." He said with a chruckle, "Kendo was smart and did the exact same thing, Maomoa complained that we're copying you guys." he added.

The viltrumite rolled his eyes as they flew through the sky, taking his helmet off to actually breathe, "Of course he did. I didn't want to say anything before you met him but he's seriously the second biggest asshole I think I've met. Every time I see him? He gets all 'Oh you must think your so much better then everyone.' It drives me nuts!"

Zack shrugged, "Yeah he's not like that with us actually, in fact he's pretty decent, so it's super weird to see him treat you guys like that." He admitted.

"Seriously!? What did we do to him?" Mako asked in disbelief.

Zack raised his hand, "Ok so me and Kendo were talking about it actually, we have a theory, you know how his quirk works right?" he asked.

Mako nodded, "Yeah he needs to make skin contact with you in order to copy your quirk for a few minutes." He said, recalling seeing it in action at the sports festival.

Zack nodded as well, "Exactly, and he uses the element of surprise to get your quirk without realizing it. But you guys know that so it's not going to work on you." He reasoned. "So maybe he says all that crap to you guys so you get riled up, and WANT to knock his block off so he can go swipe your quirk from you." He reasoned.

Mako turned and stared at him, "…..I can't lie, that's kind of brilliant." He admitted before lifting up his helmet, "Look I gotta swing back to I-Island and drop this off, but if you want to hang out, me and Izuku are gonna catch a movie tonight with some friends." He offered.

Zack shook his head, "Thanks for the offer man but honesty I'm not really in the mood to do anything. Catch you later." He said before flying off back towards Japan. Mako watched him go off into the distance before altering his own course towards I-Island.

Mako had visited I-Island multiple times over the past year since he met Melissa and her father, but he'd never seen the island so bustling from overhead like today. It was nearing the end of the semester at I-Island academy and Summer was just around the corner. So he suppoused he shouldn't be that surpised, and from what Melissa was telling him this was going to be nothing compared to when the I-Island Expo happened in a few weeks. Man I still gotta run that by mom. I mean she likes Melissa, and she let her stay over at our place after the Reanimen thing without a second thought, but that's different from me spending a whole Week at my girlfriend's place. He thought as he flew towards the main housing tower where his aforementioned girlfriend lived.

Floating over to the window to her room, he stopped just short of the window before knocking on it, making sure that he didn't peek in on Melissa if she wasn't decent. Hearing a muffled confirmation, he flew over and slid the window open before floating inside and landing on the carpet, "Hey thanks for letting me borrow-" he began before he saw his girlfriend.

Melissa had an entire stack of books in her hands, all of which had a D&D logo on the side with various titles on them, suffice to say, Mako's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "WHAT?!" he asked loudly, his girlfriend rolled her eyes.

"Ok yeah, let it out." She said in amusement as he set he space helmet and backpack down on her desk. Turning around he pulled his mask off to show how big his grin was compared to his face.

"You play Dungeons and Dragons?!" he asked excitedly.

She smiled, "Well I DM, I like it a little more then playing." She corrected, hefting the multiple books in her arms up for emphasis. "I told you I liked games." She recalled.

Mako nodded, "Yeah but I mean I didn't think you were this into it." He admitted as he walked over and pecked Melissa on the cheek to greet her properly. "Gotta say, you make nerdy look cute." He complimented.

She elbowed him in the gut to no effect, "Oh knock it off, every month me and my friends get together and play a game. It's just something fun to do in my spare time. You ever play?" she asked.

She was met with a blank stare. "Melissa Izuku was my best and ONLY friend for years; pretty sure you can't play a campaign alone." He reminded her.

Her face dropped, "Oh, right." he replied sheepishly as she looked down awkwardly, "I mean…..I'd offer you to join but we're all full up, and I'd have to come up with a whole bunch of encounters-" she explained, trying not to make it seem like she was flat out denying Mako entry into the game.

He smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "It's fine, me, Izuku, Uraraka, and Iida are all catching a movie later anyway. I was gonna ask if you wanted to come too but it's cool." He assured. Melissa smiled before leaning in and pressing her lips against his own, "But I was serious about you making nerdy look cute." He muttered; her face barely pulled away from his.

Melissa smiled as her nose brushed against his, "Yeah?" she asked.

"I mean I'm a nerd. You're a nerd." He joked as his hand reached up and cupped her cheek, "I like being nerds together with you." He said, causing them both to laugh before he leaned in and stole a kiss, lingering there for a moment as she enjoyed the feeling of his lips against her's before drawing back, the sudden beeping in his ear made Mako stand up straighter before pulling back from Melissa, "Cecil?" he asked.

"Kid I need you back in Japan, supervillain is giving a couple heroes trouble, need you to help tip the scales. I'll direct you to the site." Cecil ordered.

Mako turned to Melissa, "Well hopefully I'll make the movie, see you later gorgeous." He flirted as he walked back towards the window.

Melissa turned around and smiled, "Back at you sexy." She replied with a wink.

Mako stumbled and fell back out the window at the unexpected compliment, he floated back up, pulling his mask down over his face, "I'm ok! I'm ok." He assured before chuckling to himself and flying away. Melissa turned and walked out the door to her bedroom with a sly smirk on her face from the reaction she had gotten out of Mako.

Arriving back in Japan, Cecil informed Mako that the hero team of Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, and Death Arms, had encountered a villain wrecking havoc in a small rural town outside of Tokyo, the only really important thing of note was that the company Detnerat was headquartered there. Which the villain was targeting for some reason, flying upon the scene, he arrived in time to see Mt. Lady begin to topple backwards off balance, "It's alright! I got you!" Invincible called out before flying into her back and pushing her back onto her own two feet until she was balanced.

Hovering up to her head, she turned to him, "You good?" he asked.

The pro heroine blinked at him, "Uhhh why is a little newbie here?" she asked in confusion.

"Wha-oh come on I'm not a newbie! I'm Invincible! I saved the planet!?" he argued before he turned and saw a bus be throw through the air, "Crap! Catch it!" he said, the heroine reacting quickly and lifting her arms and bracing herself to catch it against her chest before a number of thick tree branches sprouted between the two buildings on either side and wrapped around the sides of the bus, cushioning it's catch while Mt. Lady quickly grabbed it and gently set it down on the ground.

Invincible flew down and tore the door to the bus, "Everyone get out! If there's anyone injured I'll carry you to safety." He said, stepping aside as the passenger all filed out of the bus and ran down the road. Atop the bus, Kamui Woods, in his blue hero suit and wooden helmet, dropped down and watched over the civilians as they evacuated before turning back to the villain. The villain in question was a man who looked lie he somehow took every single steroid on earth, tall enough that his head reached over the bus, his muscles made All Might look small in comparison.

Invincible flew up over the bus and saw the man as he roared in a rage, "Ok so mindless brute guy? Ok, I can handle this." The teen said to himself before shooting into the villain, tackling him into the pavement and dragging him across the ground. Invincile unleasheda flurry of punches to the man's face as fast as he could, each impact making the crater around his head grow slightly until the teen suddenly stopped, the jacked up man's bruised and now bloody face. "You done?" he asked.

"Uuugh Hurrh." The villain nodded. Invincible stood up and turned back to Kamui and Mt Lady, " He's down but could we get something to contain him until the police show up so he doesn't run off?" he asked.

Mt Lady gawked at the teen's casualness, Is this kid for real?! He just flies in, takes out the bad guy, and then asks us to detain him like we're sidekicks?! She thought in bafflement while Kamui jumped down from the bus and rushed over to the downed villain. Unaware that Kamui woods was staring at her, appreciating that Karma had finally been dealt after the incident with her debut and her stealing his moment to shine.

"I have him." The wood hero said reaching his hand out and growing out thick tree branches to wrap around and encapsulate the man. "He's the third one we've taken down today, this one was crafty enough to keep me away so I couldn't trap him with my branches." Kamui explained.

Invincible looked down at him in surprise, "Wait seriously!? How is that possible? Are they like triplets or something?" he asked, looking down at the monumental sized man in surprise. "But then again what are the odds that they all turn to crime?" he muttered to himself.

"It's the drug Trigger, mixed together with growth hormones." Kamui Woods explained, Mako had heard about Trigger. It was a drug that was designed to boost people's quirks power, if your quirk was to shine light from your eyes, it turns them into laser beams. If your quirk makes you strong, trigger makes you stronger, it was the modern steroid for super powers. And now someone decided that it needed to be tampered with.

Mt Lady shrunk down to her regular size and walked over, "Listen kid, thanks for the assistance, but we got this covered now. Don't you have school to get to?" she asked with a somewhat impatient tone.

"Um…..it's Sunday." Invincible replied. The woman froze up at the reply but the viltrumite ignored her and looked down at the man. "Is there anything else? Like who this guy is?" he asked.

"He's a former employee of Detnerat. At least that's what the person who dialed 1-1-9 said, he and some other colleagues were attempting to break into the building." The tree controlling hero explained, tilting his head towards the tallest building in town. Invincible cupped his chin before crouching down beside the man.

Invincible rubbed the back of his head, "Is there any way to find his supplier for this junk?" he asked. The thought of this being out in the world didn't sit well with him in any way, especially if this was the result of taking it.

Mt Lady waved him off, "Unfrontately sweetie there's nothing we can do until these guys tell us where they got the drug from. Even then the dealer won't just stay and wait around after selling." She said with a defeated sigh. "Unfortunately this sort of thing is best left to investigative heroes." She admitted. While she had many talents, investigation type cases were not one of them, it was hard to be subtle when her quirk let her grow to the size of a building.

Invincible cupped his chin in thought, "Hang on one sec." he said before tapping his earpiece, "Cecil?" he asked.

'Overheard and I'm one step ahead of you kid, I have access to the perp's phone records and already traced the location of where the dealer is after cross referencing the phone's contact with police databases.' Cecil informed him. Mako blinked under his mask, suddenly realizing just how much power Cecil really had in his position. Espically considering the fact that his Hero Ethics class yesterday had taught him that exactly all of those needed warrants from government officials to do, 'Address is in Tokyo. Off Sugmi Street. Risen Heights, apartment ten.'

"Ok, that's kind of scary. Good to know." He said before turning to Kamui Wood and Mt Lady, "I uhhh, have the dealer's location in Tokyo. You guys want to team up?" he asked pleasantly and politely.

Mt Lady's jaw dropped while Kamui Woods nodded in appreciation, "I'd be more than welcome to, me and Mt Lady have been trying to cut these incidents down as they pop up but taking the problem up from the roots would be the best way to do this." He agreed. He put a hand up to his mask where his chin would be, "I can drive us to Tokyo." He offered.

"Actually I have an idea for that." Invincible said.

After Mt Lady and Kamui Woods entered his car, it was a simple matter of Invincible carrying it on his back and flying them back to the big city. Upon arriving at the Drug Dealer's location, it was then as easy as Invincible and Mt Lady boxing them in as Kamui entered the apartment building to confront the dealer. With Invinvible floating above the building, and Mt Lady standing on the roof, ready to jump into action, she looked at the teen with envy.

This little baby hero not only is world famous but he's got the skills and experience to back it up!? I've been on my own for over a year now and I'm still not breaking the top twenty hero ranks? She thought before blowing the air out her nose in a huff. She wasn't mad at Invincible personally, but the acclaim he had gotten for his deeds weren't anything to scoff at. There were some rumors going around that he could possibly be a contender for the number 2 hero, and seeing the kid in action didn't do anything to dissuade that.

"Uh Mt Lady, can I ask you something?" he asked suddenly, drawing her out of her thoughts and making her turn to him.

"Sure kid, what is it?" she asked.

"Well one of my classmates interned with you, Mineta? Grape Rush?" he asked her.

Mt Lady's eyes widened as she remembered the little creatin, it was obvious that he had some certain deluisons in his head to being a intern to her. Thankfully she crushed those by giving him nothing but grunt work around her apartment, "Oh yeah, oh I miss having him around." She said earnestly. My apartment could use another cleaning. She added to herself.

Invincible snickered, "Yeah I just wanted to say thanks for keeping him in line, U.A. is a great school but honestly some of the stuff he says? Well…..let's just say if he says something like that to my girlfriend he's going to need to tranfer schools…..probably to Antartica." He said with a grunt.

Mt Lady chuckled, "Well his personality isn't the best that's for sure, but his quirk is actually pretty useful." She admitted, the times that she actually did bring him out on patrol with her showed that his balls could easily capture villains attempting to escape. "If he only applied his creativity to his actual work instead of his fantasies." She said with a shake of her head.

And then the side of the building erupted.

The two heroes sprung into action, Mt Lady jumping off the building as she enlarged herself, the rapid growth causing her feet to cushion against the ground as though she hopped off a stool instead of a building while Invincible flew down to the side of the building, inside, Kamui woods shakily stood up, "I'm alright, but he took the trigger." He said, pointing back behind the viltrumite.

Looking back over his shoulder he say a similarly muscular man, this one with a lot more hair on his body, scaling the side of the opposite building similar to how an ape could a tree. Invincible shot through the air and curved around the side as not to ram the man through the side of the building an cause more damage. However before he could impact him, the dealer sprung off the wall directly at Invincible!

His punch knocked the teen back through the air, barely allowing him time to recover and land on his feet while he dealer crashed into the concrete a few feet away. A spec of blood trailed down from his nose, "I've been hit harder than that." He said before wiping it away, "WAY harder." He stated coldly. Before the man could leap at him, a giantess foot came down and slammed him into the pavement, Mako actually winced, "That too but that probably still hurt."

After apprehending the Drug Dealer as well as getting the police on the scene of the crime, Mako was released from duty for the day by Cecil, leaving before the press arrived and letting Mt Lady and Kamui Woods answer to that. 'I gotta admit kid, I'm pleasantly surprised that your not eager to talk to the press.' The director said into the teen's ear as he flew through the air towards the movie theatre that he was planning to meet his friends at. There was a half hour before the film started and Mako intended to waste it by playing some games at the arcade with Izuku while they waited…their ongoing pinball game rivilary wasn't going to be forgotten.

"I mean honestly after how they ran my name through the mud after my dad and I fought? Can't say I'm thrilled to talk to any of them." He replied.

'True. But saying nothing to anyone can leave a lot of people open to their own interpretation.' Cecil countered. It wasn't unheard of for heroes like Erasure to get a reputation for their anti-social behavior with the press, heroes were public figures after all so it was only natural that they would have a relationship with the press. 'One new outlet has actually reached out to the GDC directly to try and get an interview with you regarding recent events. The Kresh invasion, the apprehention of the Lizard League, even the drug bust today.' He explained.

Mako hummed in contemplation, "I don't know Cecil, I haven't done anything like this before."

'Relax kid, it's ultimately your choice, but you go to a school where they teach this stuff. Ask some of the teachers for their advice. Just something to think about. I'll talk later, need to coordinate a strike team with the Guardians.' He said before hanging up.

Mako kept that in mind as he found a small alley to land in and change into his regular clothes in, walking out onto the street with his mask and gloves tucked into his pockets. Walking to the movie theatre he saw both Uraraka and Izuku standing out in front chatting, the teen smiled to himself but stopped when he felt his phone buzz with a message. Pulling it out he read a message from Iida.

Iida: Mako, Uraraka, and Izuku, I'm sorry to say that my train was delayed and I will not be able to make it to the film. Do not despair and please enjoy the film without me, I will try and reschedule another time for us to gather outside of class for another extracurricular activity.

Mako glanced up to his friends and then back down to the message before smirking to himself and quickly typed out a reply as he begun backing away from the movie theatre.

Mako: Yeah sorry guys, Cecil called me away on some business, I gotta raincheck. But you and Uraraka should enjoy the flick! I catch it some other time.

Mako smirked to himself as he hid behind a telephone pole and peeked out around the corner to see his friends look down at and read the message. Izuku's face turned a little red, no doubt realizing the fact the two of them were now going to see a movie together…alone….like a date….

I know I should probably feel bad about this but it's just too perfect to pass up. Plus I could always fly to another theatre to catch the movie…oooooh wait, note to self, fly to Hollywood for next movie premiere. He thought as he retreated back the way he came with a grin on his face. Izuku couldn't ask anyone out on a date if his life depended on it, and while he wasn't entirely sure if he and Uraraka felt something for one another, he knew that there was only one real way to find out and he knew that his friend wouldn't be the one to try and find out. So a little nudge might have been in order.

The body was complete, after weeks of patience for Rex Conners, it was finally going to pay off. However the easy part was over, the hard part was going to come next. He had set up a customized flatbed truck that housed a transport unit in the back container to move him from location-to-location years ago. But after the GDA had recruited him there wasn't any need for it until today. The truck, disguised as a generic 18 wheeler, drove along the country highway on approach to the desolate warehouse the Mullers were using as a base of operation. The truck turned down the road and once in the vicinity of the building, turned around and baced up to the loading bay doors on the side of the building.

When they heard the truck park, the twins looked to one another then the sliding garage door, one in a lab coat walked forward and pushed the door up into the ceiling. The doors of the turck's cargo container opened by themselves, inside was a dimimly lit room inside a quarantine container, and behind the glass door was Rex with an oxygen mask at his side.

The twins looked at one another once again before turning to the human form of Robot, whose drone was standing by the door ready to defend it's creator. "So then you're the man in the machine so to speak."

Rex could hear them through the audio system he had designed, "I am, now then are we ready to proceede?" he asked, trying to hide his impatience.

"Actually no, I thin your forgetting something." The one with the nose ring said before grinning, "Our payment." He reminded.

Rex sighed, walking over to the door, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a large flash drive, putting into a drawer, he pushed it through the other side which the Robot drone retrieved and carried over to the Muller twins. "A blueprint copy of the same device that the GDA uses to teleport their people across the globe. As you requested." He said as the Muller took the flash drive, "And in case anything unsavory happens, that drone contains a 30 Megaton bomb that is synched up with my unique brainwave pattern. If I perish, so do you two." Robot added.

The Twins both jumped at the revelation, looking at the drone with a much more worried expression then before. They were so isolated that a explosion that size wouldn't kill anyone but the people in the building. "Understood." the both said.

Rex took a deep breath, his last breath that would be inside a box, before slipping the mask over his face and nose and opening the door.

The air burned his skin immediately, Rex's teeth grinded against themselves as the Robot drone helped him to the nearby table where an identical one stood by a few feet away, on it was the clone that the Mullers had been growing. "We need to work fast." The one Muller with the lab coat said as h walked over to the clone, the other twin going over to Rex as they both quickly worked to get the helmets on the bodies. "Alright it's secure! Yours?" he asked his brother.

"Secure!" he said before jogging over to the console and entering the command to begin the consince transfer sequence.

Rex was wrong, stepping out into the world for the first time wasn't the hardest part. This was.

Every neuron in his mind caught on fire, the space between thought and action was overwhelmed with pain, he wanted to scream, to yell, to try and release that pain but it wasn't happening. Someone was screaming but it wasn't him, "Compensating for the size of the transfer seems to cause pain." He heard one of the Mullers say to the other. Rex tried lifting his hands but they had been strapped to the table, probably in prediction of this, this regret, wanting to throw away the helmet and pull the plug on this, go back into his room and forever be locked away.

But he couldn't. The pain in his mind faded over the next few minutes, and the screaming finally died down. Rex could finally speak, his breathing was harsh and rugged under his mask. Sweat poured down his head and he barely had any strength left t even move, when he opened his eyes, he saw…..himself standing over him, shock etched onto his expression, "I don't…..I remember getting down, putting the mask on…..but I'm not…..he's…." he said in a gasp.

"It's like we told you, we have reasons why we don't know which of us is the original and whose the clone." The Muller in the lab coat explained, the clone of Rex looking up from his original body. "But for you….the difference is more noticeable." He explained before looking at the original body, "And…..this is also the worst part." He admitted forlornly.

The clone body looked down at his former one, he knew that it would come down to this, once he fully understood how the Muller's science worked he quickly realized what the cost of this gift would be.

He knew that this part was coming…..so it wasn't the worst. The worst was after, living with what he was about to do.

Looking down into the eyes-his own eyes, of his old life, he let out a shaky breath, "We could…..we could take you back to the room….you could still live."

The old him shook his head weakly, "N…oo….we know….what we….n…need to do…." The new him nodded in understanding before reaching down and removing the mask.

The air burned going inside him as much as it did on the outside, he gasped, he groaned, he choked….an after a moment….he died.

"Hey mom." Mako called out from the couch as the elevator door closed. Leaning up from his position on the couch, he saw his mom walk in with her briefcase in hand containing legal documents she was to study at home. She looked at him in pleasant surprise.

"Hey you. Didn't expect you to be home before me. Usually your out until later with work, friends, or Melissa." She said as she walked over to the kitchen laid and dropped her briefcase off. "What are you watching?" he asked curiously as he son laid back down on the couch.

He shrugged his shoulders, "Some old monster movie that I found." He said before he realized something. "Shit that reminds me." He said as he paused the film and sat up to look at his mom. "So mom, after my finals there's this Expo on I-Island that me and Melissa are planning to go to." He spoke.

Kali's face lit up, "Oh that sounds nice!"

Mako nodded a little stiltedly at what he was about to ask, "Yeah it does….and Melissa offered me to stay with her at her place while we're there for a few days….would that be ok?" he asked unsurely. His mom wasn't an idiot, two teens who were dating each other spending a few days together wasn't exactly innocent. So he knew what he was asking if she was ok with something like that potentially happening.

Kali looked over at him and smiled, "I trust you Mako. And more importantly I trust her, I think she's one of the smartest people I've met." She replied, making his shoulders release the tension they had been holding. "But-" she added, making them tense again, "-I was young too once, so I know what you kids might get up to." She said with a firm tone.

"Mooooom." Mako groaned.

She raised a hand, "No, I'm serious here Mako." She interrupted, "I know you know how everything works, or you got an idea of it. But you need to keep in mind…..well you can bend steel with your hands honey." She reminded him. Mortification on Mako's part shifted to a genuine concern, his mother walked over to the couch as he shifted himself over for her to sit. "I know you really care for Melissa, and you'd never hurt her-"

"Never on purpose." Mako confirmed.

Kali smiled a little, "Of course not, but…..look you may not want to hear this but you have to. When me and your father decided to take that step? There was….well an adjustment." She explained. Mako felt bile form in his stomach at the thought of what his mom was implying, seeing the distressed look he had, she reached her hand out to his shoulder reassuringly, "But we got past it without anyone getting hurt. But the concern was there." She explained.

Mako swallowed, "I…..I never….I mean I sort of thought I'd just…..er…..hold myself back like I always do with stuff like that? I mean I don't rip my door off when I open it." He said, tilting his head to his bedroom door.

"Yeah but how many times did you snap the handle off the sink?" Kali asked him, Mako's lips pressed together in a firm line. "Look I'm not saying this to scare you, but you and Melissa…..when you decide to take that step? You need to know now instead of finding out in the heat of the moment." She explained.

Her son sighed, "Yeah I know….thanks mom…..but I mean we're not in any rush." He quickly added. Kali gave him a look that said she didn't buy it, "I'm serious! I just….I don't want to screw this up by rushing into something."

His mother's disbelief faded into genuine surprise, "Huh….that's actually very mature of you Mako."

"Hey I'm mature. I got a good paying job, I'm getting an education, I'm doing pretty well for myself." He boasted with a smile. In spite of everything that happened with his father, things were actually going well now. Big time superhero, great friends, awesome girlfriend, and tomorrow is finals week. Maybe things are finally going to start going my way. He thought hopefully.

The written exams had been relatively easy for Class 1A, the study group they had formed at Mako's suggestion had helped the class overall. Still a few like Mina and Kaminari found themselves struggling overall, Mako himself had a problem with a few of the questions on Hero case laws, but felt confident in other subjects. Their tests were still being graded but the overall mood felt like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders…..for about a day since the next day they had the practical exam.

Mako looked around at his classmates as they all stood outside the school, across from them were their teachers from their various classes. "Now then, it's time we began the practical portion of this exam." Aizawa said to his students, "It's possible to fail this portion, however if you want to attend the training camp this summer, you'll give it your all and not mess it up." He explained, the burden on everyone's shoulders was back at that announcement. "Now you've probably asked around and you might believe you have a vague idea od how this'll go."

Mako leaned over to Izuku beside him, "I sense a 'But' coming."

The scarf that their teacher wore ruffled around on it's own, "But you'll be surprised to learn that circumstances have changed!" Principal Nezu said as he emerged from Aizawa's scarf.

Mina and Kaminari, whom were in mid celebration over their 'knowledge' of what was going to happen froze. "Given recent events, the teachers and I feel that you're all need to gain more experience fighting flesh and blood opponents, so for your final exam, you all shall be pairing up and fighting us! The teachers!" Nezu announced with a tone that could be considered either manic or excited.

Mako smirked to himself, Oh man I might have the advantage here! I've been fighting real people for a while now, and I got the experience to back it up. He thought excitedly.

"Todoroki and Yaoyorozu will be up against me." Aizawa said.

HA! And I don't get Aizawa! This is great! Mako thought.

"Next, Midoriya, you will be paired up with Mako." The two friends turned to each other and grinned, "And Bakugo." The two friends stopped, both their heads creaking over to Bakugo who was looking at them with just as much distain. "And your opponent-" Aizawa began before a shadow passed over him and landed between the students and teachers.

All Might stood up between them with his signature smile, "-Will Be Me!"

…..oh god damnit.

AN: Whoo-hoo! Finally got this out! I've been a little busy lately with job hunting and animating so I haven't been able to put as much time towards this. But Next arc is going to be a blast to get into!

I've also been reading a ton of Flash comics since it's giving me what I want from Spider-Man comics which have once again gone down the drain with their writing. Along with Flash I've obviously kept up with MHA in both Manga and Anime and I'm so hyped for the next arc to be animated! I also got crunchyroll since RWBY is streaming on there and I'm glad I traded my RT First subscription for it. Way more worth it.

We actually even got a fun little bit of crossover IRL with Invincible creators doing a fun Invincible vs, video! All Might came up and unfortunately only the artist Ryan Ottley had seen the show so there wasn't really an answer. Man I can't wait for season 2 later this year.

Now then, onto reviews Invinciheads!

Messiah of Authors: This was kind of more of the same but more setup as well, Robot has his body finally and that will lead to things going forward for sure.

The Common Cold: Oh no I was just saying that I love that type of story, and what I really liked about it was in Batman they really get into how people adapt to survive and I don't know if I could go really in depth to that degree.

Kaiju Emperor: Ugh this is going to be another 'Omni Man vs All Might' thing isn't it?

Dragon King of the West: Machinehead is a Invincible villain, he only shows up like once though.

Shadow-Proclimation8: Dude I've read all the comics I know who BB is XD. I mean people seem to think All Might is all bark and no bite but the dude can hit you hard enough to make a tornado, we never see anything like that in Invincible from anyone.

Peacemaker808:…..

Abarrow89: I actually need to watch it again, does all of Class 1A go to I Island? I know that a few of them get early passes to go to the expo early but IIRC the only guys are Deku, Iida, Todoroki, Bakugo, Mineta, and Kaminari right? And the four girls so it's only half the class right?

Guest 8: I mean yes but I also don't think too much about it, I enjoy Invincible for the story, and if you pick anything a part enough then nothing makes sense, it's just suspension of disbelief. And BB left because, and this is my read on it, he wants a warrior's death and if there's nobody who can challenge him then he's wasting his time. We are getting a Battle Beast comic that will apparently go into it more so I'm looking forward to that.

Guest 2: No I just meant that with how I approached that story I made mistakes like not planning in depth, I only planned out like one season at a time with a vague idea of what would happen next, don't do that. Planning always helps, I've outlined up to season 4 here and I'm working on 5 now actually.

I mean it's not like I'll get angry or hurt over anyone using the idea, it's an idea, not mine.

Sarcasm Sage 626: Yeah I like chapters like that but I don't want to get to the point of having swaths of chapters being nothing but filler without substance? I mean filler is fine, don't get me wrong, but I think if I do it, there needs to be something that at least progresses the plot a little bit. And that entire ending scene was kind of a celebration for Invincible, it came out 20 years ago with that scene in the book and it's kind of the moment that Mark's Journey began. I wanted to honor that as well as how far this story has come since then.

Guest 1: Well back then my idea of having a 'solid concept' was a bunch of scenes I wanted to see happen in a fic and making stuff happen to get from here to there. And yeah they do work well together but how I went about it probably wasn't the best way to showcase that, honestly looking back on it I was really stubborn to keep Spider-Man apart from RWBY and just have a spidey story take place in remnant.

And honestly looking back it was REALLY dull. It was just the regular spider-man in rwby! I didn't even make him a faunus or anything! Damn I was dumb

Guest: Yeah Looking back I had a really strict idea of what Spidey should and shouldn't be, I mean I've changed, back then I thought Chip Zdarsky was the worst Spider-Man writer but after re-reading his stuff I honestly wish he was on Spider-Man forever. And yeah I handled the romance in that story poorly, some people actually kept hassling me over it and demanding things. Despite how much I apologized. Honestly I'm not going to write a RWBY fic ever again, the fndm is just way too intense for me.

The one true god: I don't know if I'm being clear here, but the scene in the flaxan dimension is stylized for the sake of the story. Omni Man has never shown the ability to move that fast. And never in the comics do we see anything to suggest that they are anywhere near that fast, the closet we ever get is showing Mark fly across the town to get stuff to his apartment from home, and it's more just a visual gag then anything.

And if Omni Man could fly that fast regularly then he would just fly that fast to get to Mark, he wouldn't care about the ecosystem or anything because that's the most important thing.

Does that make sense reasoning wise?

Guest: Thank you, that's completely fair, spelling errors are something I need to work on more. I have word do a spellcheck every time I finish a chapter to be safe but it's not fool-proof.

Yo: I mean…..they're a comic book and Manga, it's not supposed to be ultra realistic. I don't think so at least. And Yeah in Invincible that's mainly because they are, Invincible is a love letter to comic books and is kind of designed for people to go 'Oh I understand that analogue, they must be like this character.'. I personally don't see anything wrong with the MHA story, I'd like to know more about the world but it's not about that, it's Deku's Journey.

Confused: Hopefully I answered this already but I'm sorry for the confusion, I just meant that the idea for the crossover is ripe with story potential, but I advise others to avoid the pitfalls that I made when making my own.

Razorback: Thank you! And while that's a interesting idea, I don't really take on story requests, it's just not something I do.
