School's Out

Mako held his head in his hands in the hallway of U.A. while Midoriya paced back and forth in front of him. "Why….why out of everyone in the school, does it have to be Bakugo of all people?" the teen asked his friend, running his hand through his uncovered hair. "Couldn't it have been anyone else? Literally anyone else? Hell I'd take Naomoa!" he exclaimed in frustration. Teaming up with Bakugo was something that Mako, if he was being honest, never wanted to do in his entire life. "Do you think that we can get them to change it?" he asked.

Izuku stopped and gave him a look, "Mako, it's Aizawa Sensei." He replied plainly. The Viltrumite groaned as his arms flopped onto either side of him, "And would it really be fair to push Kaachan onto some other team at the last minute?"

Invincible's head craned down to look at him, "I don't know, is it even fair that he's here in the first place?" he asked snidely. The green haired inheritor flinched but still locked gazes with his friend, "Don't give me that look, you know I'm not wrong. He's been a complete asshole to us our entire lives! And he's going to keep being one!" he proclaimed.

Izuku crossed his arms and looked down at the ground, thinking back to before he met Mako, how him and Bakugo were actually friends as children in preschool before his quirk came in. "He wasn't always like this…."

"Oh my god-why do you do this?" Mako asked as he stood up, his hands snapping to his hips, "You always defend him like he's got this heart of gold but you know how bad he is!" he retorted.

Izuku looked up at his friend, "I know he can be abrasive-" Mako scoffed, "-but he wasn't always like this….he was a good person."

"You guys were like three! Even Hitler was a good kid but we all know how he turned out." Mako argued. Izuku gave his friend a look, "Are you seriously arguing with me over this?" he asked in disbelief.

Izuku held up his hands, "N-No! I just think that Bakugo could be a great hero." He explained.

Invincible gave him an even look, "Heroes don't tell others to commit suicide Izuku." He said plainly.

Silence hung in the air between the two friends at that statement, Izuku wasn't an idiot, he knew that Bakugo had treated both of them badly growing up. And that day was a step too far for his tormenting, and while he hadn't gotten worse, he also hadn't gotten better. "…yeah your right." Izuku admitted, "But…..I can't think that someone who wants to be a hero is just…bad." He admitted, Mako's expression softened at his friend's reasoning. "I just…..you remember how you told me how you think you dad changed? Well maybe he can too."

The half alien took a deep breath before blowing it out through his nose, "I…I can see that I guess…..but still he wouldn't even hear you out when you tried to talk to him about a plan." He replied. Since all the students would be having their Exams all at once, they were all given around three hours to prepare for their exams, Izuku had tried to approach Bakugo about formulating a plan, but the blonde had brushed him off expertly. "Look I say we make our own plan, and if he doesn't like it? He can deal with the consequences."

The goal as it was explained to them was fairly simple, the hero team was able to pass the exam though two options. First being to capture the villain with the cuffs provided to them, or to escape the arena they were in within the allotted time. If they're unable to do either of those tasks within the timeframe, then they fail. "Ok but…look Mako you've gotten way stronger since the USJ-"

Mako flashed him a small, friendly smile, "Butter me up why don't you?" he asked jokingly.

Izuku returned a small smile of his own, glad that their spat was just that, "-but honestly….I don't know if your going to be able to stand up against All Might." He admitted.

The Viltrumite rubbed the back of his head, he didn't have an exact measurement for how strong he and his dad were in comparison to each other. But All Might managed to hold his own against him, and while he had certainly gotten stronger since his fight with his dad, he didn't think that he was close enough to contend with either of them. "Agreed. But it's also not about beating him." He replied, "We just need to capture him with the cuffs, and given that he's wearing those bracers to hold him back from full strength? I honestly could see us having a chance."

Izuku cupped his chin in thought as he analyzed the situation. "Your not wrong, with Kaachan's quirk, your strength and my quirk, we actually might be able to hold our own against All Might if it comes to it….but there's still a lot of factors at play here. If we focus entirely on trying to capture All Might, all he would need to do is switch to defense for the entire match until time runs out." He explained.

Mako bit the inside of his cheek, "Right….so either way it comes down to a fight." He reasoned. Izuku nodded, "If that's the case then honestly I think our chances would be better if we ran away."

Izuku nodded, "I agree, if we try to capture him then all he needs to do is drag our the fight." He reasoned before sighing, "But I don't think Kaachan will like that idea."

"Then we leave him to fail and we make a run for the gate." Mako replied with a shrug.

Izuku blinked in surprise at the casual throwing of Bakugo under the proverbial bus…..and now the image of Bakugo being thrown under a bus with All Might's face on the front was in his head.

Stuffing that idea away for doodling later, the idea…..wasn't without Merit. Kaachan could….in theory, act as a distraction so they could pass and get through the gate. And all that was needed was for one of them to pass through the gate for all of them to pass the practical. But regardless he shook his head, "It's not right to leave a teammate behind Mako."

"He's only a teammate if he cooperates with the team." His friend replied, "And so far he hasn't really shown any interest in working with us." He pointed out. The frustrating part was that he knew Bakugo could work with people, he had done so during the sports festival during the cavalry battle…..but then again that was required and didn't have any other choice. In theory he didn't need to work with them here, but he also saw what his friend was trying to say, "Alright look, how about I try talking to him?" he suggested.

Izuku gave him an unsure look, "What?" he asked.

"Well it's just….you and Kaachan get along like oil and water…..I don't see him agreeing with you." He admitted.

Mako shrugged, "Yeah true but out of the two of us? I think he hates me less than you for some reason."

"What?! He doesn't hate us….I think…that's a strong word." Izuku replied unsurely.

"Fine I'm the one he likes slightly more. That better?" Mako asked with a small smirk. Izuku crossed his arms and huffed in response As Mako walked off in search of their 'teammate' Izuku frowned. He and Bakugo had a rough history, but Mako and Bakugo had an even worse relationship than that, he knew that Bakugo was a real jerk and he didn't just forget all the torment over the years. But in a weird way….he understood it.

Well in as much as he thinks he understood why Bakugo did it, not at all that he could agree with it, and credit where it was due, ever since attending U.A. he hadn't done anything more then shout at them. He'd never become physically violent with them outside of training where it was required, but he also completely understood Mako's anger towards him in that his attitude hadn't changed at all.

"The hell do you want goggles?" Bakugo snarked at him as the viltrumites approached him. The explosive user had decided to wait for the exam to begin outside the fake city where it would be held in, leaning against the wall next to the gate.

Mako rolled his eyes under his mask, "Oh I don't know, world peace, getting tickets to the next Comic-Con, you to discuss our plan on what we're going to do." He explained sarcastically. The spikey haired ten scoffed, "Look I don't like you, you despise me and Izuku, but we're going up against All Might in the next hour and it'd be nice if we had a plan for that."

The blonde growled in annoyance, "Don't need one! I'll blow All Might away and you two bastards can watch me slap the cuffs on him." He said dismissively.

Mako had to resist the urge to facepalm, "You really think that's how that's gonna go down? You gonna solo the number one hero in the world?" he asked, his voice dripping with skepticism. "Look me and Izuku think that we can make an opening and one of us can make a break for the-"

"Fuck. That." Bakugo barked at him, "You and that useless nerd just want to be cowards and run away?!"

"Oh wow, I don't know, It's basically what I did to save the whole planet from an alien invasion? So yeah! Probably!" Mako shot back at him. His capture to the Kresh was what bought Cecil time to get Earth properly ready for the invasion. There admittedly wasn't a ton of thought put into it at the time but it proved to be the right decision to make in hindsight.

Bakugo stood off from the all, "You didn't 'Save' anyone loser, your ass lost AGAIN and you had to wait for some nobodies to save your ass!" he replied.

Mako's anger rose as his teeth clenched, "Oh so I'm a loser, what does that make you since you lost the first day to me and Izuku?" he mocked. Bakugo growled in barely contained rage, explosions popping off in his hand. Mako's hands clenched into fists, "I'm not Izuku, I'm NOT putting up with your bullshit. I'm not ordering you to do anything, but me and Izuku have a plan, you want to pass? I'd really suggest listening to it."

Bakugo's red eyes leveled with his, not backing down, neither did Mako, "Hey Mako did you find Kaaa….." Izuku's voice trailed off as he came upon his best friend burning holes into Bakugo's head. The two snapped their heads over to him with vary different expressions at his appearance, "Uh…..Recovery Girl told me that head over here, we can head in now." He informed them. No sooner that he told them, the large steel doors to the arena swung open.

The trio of classmates walked inside, "As soon as things start, I'll fly up and get an aerial view, see if I can find All Might before he finds us." He whispered to Izuku. Bakugo scoffed dismissively, "Oh I'm sorry, what's your plan exactly?"

"Simple dumbass, we let him toy with us until the very end. Then when he's tired and least expecting, I'll let him have it!" he said, striving forward past the other two.

Invincible and Deku looked at each other unconvinced, Deku was the one to run after him, "Kaahcan this is All Might we're talking about! Even with his handicap, there's no way you can beat-" he began before Bakugo swung his arm back and cracked Deku across the face with his gauntlet!

Anger flared up in Mako immediately and he charged to Bakugo, crossing the distance between them in a second, "Don't." he growled out, his fists trembling as he tried to hold himself back from punching Bakugo's head off his shoulders.

"Oh what?! You think just because you got your powers now your both are worth my time?!" Bakugo barked at him.

Mako raised a fist, "Mako stop!" Deku called out as he stood up, a bruise on his cheek.

"Screw that I'm gonna-!"

WHOOSH!

A powerful gust of wind blew down the street around with such power that the ground and buildings around them were uprooted by the blast of air pressure! The three heroes in training stopped what they were doing. Looking down the road through the smoke and dust they saw a large and powerful silhouette lurk towards them. "Ohhhh shit." Mako groaned out as he shifted his stance towards All Might as he merged from the dust.

"Who cares about keeping the town intact?" All Might asked, his usual hopeful grin not matching the intimidating tone of his voice, "If you three approach this as a test, your going to have a bad time. I'm a villain here young heroes, so give me your best shot!" he told his students as he leaned forward and in a burst of speed closed the distance between him and his targets.

While Invincible raised his arms to defend, Bakugo lifted his to attack, unleashing a stunning bright light between him and All Might! Bakugo followed up by launching himself towards his teacher with his explosions, All Might countered quickly and grabbed him by the face!

As Bakugo let loose a barrage of close range explosions, Invincible turned to Deku, "Now's our chance! Go!" he shouted to his friend as he charged at All Might. Seeing the student coming, he threw Bakugo at him, expecting the teen to stop to catch him.

Only for Invincible to swipe his arm out and knock him aside in midair, Slamming into All Might, the symbol of peace was driven back, their hands locking in a struggle of strength, Invincible put his entire weight into the struggle, and All Might strained visibly against the young Viltrumite. "Hnngg! I must say young Mako….your strength has grown!" he complimented. "However-" he suddenly rolled back, bringing Invincible over him before shooting his foot into the young hero's gut, knocking the wind out of him and sending him flying up into the air, "-you still need to work on your technique!" he added constructively.

Rolling onto his feet, All Might shot up in the air after his student, flying past him he clasped his hands over his head and brought them down as his student flew up to him, the axe chop sending him back down to the street and making a crater with Mako in the center. The teen groaned as he tried to get up, "Ugh, starting to get flashbacks to my dad here." He admitted before All Might's foot came down on his back, pinning him down once more.

"Get off him!" All Might turned to se Izuku spring towards him, a terrified smile on his face as he glowed with the energy of One For All full cowling. His fist drawn back shot forward and slammed into the side of All Might's grinning face, making him stagger.

Invincible used the opportunity to lift up off the ground and from underneath All Might's foot, throwing his own strike into All Might's face as well. Knocking the symbol of peace back, landing beside his friend as All Might regained his footing, Invincible lanced down the road, if there was anywhere that the exit was it had to be where All Might started. Before they could act however, an explosion behind All Might got everyone's attention.

"Don't you steal my kill you dumbasses!" Bakugo shouted as he raised his arm, a series of small explosions popping off from his hands.

Deku's eyes winded, It's the same attack he used during his match with Uraraka! He realized, remembering how powerful that explosion was! He grabbed Invincible by the arm and leapt away with full cowling as Bakugo unleased the full powered blast in the opposite direction that All Might had unleashed his.

Bakugo huffed as he held his now sore arms up, a manic grin on his face, No way All Might had the chance to dodge that! He thought proudly as the smoke and dust from the explosion began to settle. All Might still stood, his arms braced against the blast and covering himself protectively before shifting his stance to stand upright.

"A good attempt Young Bakugo." He said with a glint in his eyes.

A block away, Mako and Izuku regained their breaths as they recovered from their encounter with All Might, "Ugh. My back feels like an elephant stepped on it." Mako groaned in discomfort and pain as he straightened out his back. Looking over at Izuku he gave him a smile, "Thanks for the backup back there, but the plan was to run for the gate while he was busy with me." He reminded his friend.

Izuku stood up as he regained his breath, "I wasn't going to just leave you." He said shaking his head.

Mako sighed, "I can tell where this is going and I'm going to say no." he said before his friend could plead his case.

"But we can't just leave Kaachan, that's not what heroes do." He said sternly.

"Look if this was an actual dangerous situation? I'd agree! But this is a test and he's just being his usual stubborn ass self." Mako replied bitingly. His actions before All Might even showed up just proved that he hadn't changed, and while he may have been on the fence about using him as bait for All Might his tantrum had pushed him over it.

The sound of a explosive barrage made the two look up, Mako looked over at him, "Look man if we want to pass one of us is gonna need to get through that gate. Simple as that, and if you're not coming with me…..I'll go alone." He said. Izuku turned to him, there was no anger or malice in his voice, the decision wasn't to spite Bakugo or push the decision onto him, but still he felt a pressure on himself.

"…..I can't leave him Mako."

The two friends looked at one another, Mako taking a long breath, "Alright, I'll make for the goal, you two distract All Might…..and try not to get every bone in your body broken." He added in good nature.

Izuku managed a smile, "I've gotten better."

"Oh no I was referring to All Might, dude hits like a truck even with those weights." Mako corrected, rubbing his back where the teacher had landed a blow on him. Izuku nodded before the spark of his quirk surged around him before he leapt out from the Alley and charged towards All Might as he gave Bakugo a gut shot.

Deku swore he hard Invincible cacking as he flew towards the exit. All Might turned to his pupil as he charged at him, throwing a fist once more, however the symbol of peace was ready for him this time and grabbed his arm before he could connect. "Oh no." Izuku squeaked out before All Might threw him over head and slammed him into the ground before launching him at the escaping student.

Izuku slammed into Mako, knocking them through the air and into the side of a bus with enough force to make the side rise up off the ground a good few feet before they fell down. "Ugh…..well….the exit is right over there…..but I don't think I can move my legs." Izuku wheezed out. About a hundred yards away from them was the exit, all they needed was to get through. Mako groaned as he pushed himself up off the ground, Izuku rolling off his back.

Looking back down the road he as All Might approaching them, dragging Bakugo by his arm with him. He might have laughed at the image if he wasn't honestly intimidated by the display. The Viltrumite groaned as he stood up, "Dude, get to the gate. I'll hold him off." He said as Izuku forced himself to stand up as well.

Izuku looked between All Might holding Bakugo, and the Gate, "We gotta….save Bakugo." He said, One for All brimming beneath his skin as Mako groaned in annoyance.

"If you think you can young Midoriya, then be my guest!" All Might challenged as he charged towards the pair. Throwing Bakugo into Izuku, he tackled Mako, the teen going on the offensive as soon as All Might's shoulder rammed into his chest by slamming his elbows down onto the symbol of peace's back defiantly. The three of them aren't on the same page, they all want to win but they all want to do their own idea of what it means. Mako with completing what he set out to do, Midoriya with saving Bakugo, and Bakugo with defeating me. He considered before slamming Invincible onto the ground.

Mako reacted quickly, shooting his foot out into the hero's gut, All Might nearly wheezed out the air in his lungs from the attack on his weak point. "All Might you big bastard don't you ignore me!" Bakugo growled out as he shot out a series of explosions into the hero's back. He reacted by grabbing Invincible and using him as a human shield.

"Hey watch your fire moron!" Mako exclaimed over the blasts.

"YOU'LL BE FINE DUMBASS!" Bakugo barked back before Mako was used as a bat and swung into Bakugo, the pair skidding into the street. The blonde growled, "Watch it! Can't you fly?!"

Invincible whipped his head to him, his costume slightly singed from the explosions, looking at Bakugo however he saw the exit behind him. "Yeah I can. You want to try it?" he asked.

Bakugo gave him a confused look before Invincible grabbed him by the front of his costume and spun him around, "WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCC-!" he exclaimed as Invincible launched him like a ball towards the exit. All Might turned to his now flying student, as he was about to leap into action to stop him from passing through the gate however, Deku slid in front of him and uppercutted the symbol of peace with everything he had without the risk of breaking his arm.

Bakugo hit the ground just short of the exit, planting his feet on the ground he slid through the gate, 'PASS!' the electronic voice called out.

Bakugo's head shot up, his eyes widened in disbelief and rage, "No…" he whispered in a aggravated voice. He watched as All Might, Izuku, and Mako all stopped what they were doing. Deku bowing and apologizing for punching All Might in the face like he did, and Mako wiping the sweat off his brow. Bakugo's red eyes locked onto Mako.

He stomped over, "YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" he roared out as he stomped towards him, the teacher and students turning to him. "Who the hell do you think you are!?"

Invincible's brow furrowed, "I don't know, I'm one of the reasons we passed the test." He said plainly as Bakugo was a direct course for him. Izuku looked between the two, feeling the tension that had been building ever since their team was assigned beginning to bend.

"What the hell kind of win is that?! Pussin' out and running away!?" he barked at the teammate.

All Might raised a hand, "Young Bakugo there's nothing wrong with-"

"BUTT OUT ALL MIGHT!" Bakugo snapped at him.

Mako crossed his arms over his chest, "Yeah actually, let's hear it. What was your plan exactly? Get your ass kicked by the guy who can punch hard enough to change the weather? How'd that work out for you?" he asked sarcastically. Bakugo's brow twitched and Mako felt proud of himself for it.

"Young Mako! Young Bakugo! That's enough!" the symbol of peace said, snapping the two's attention to him. "I understand that there's friction between you two but the entire reason your team was put together was to help ease that. But instead the two of you constantly butted head throughout the entire exam." He reprimanded.

Mako threw his hands up, "Are you really that shocked?!" he asked rhetorically before turning to Bakugo, "You didn't even listen to either of us or what we had to say, and when Izuku tried to talk to you? You backhand him!" he said, throwing his arm out to his friend who was slowly starting to back away from the escalating debate.

All Might's smile lowered, not to a frown but to something that showed that he didn't approve, "Young Bakugo's actions will be reviewed, I assure you." He said, Invincible crossed his arms in response. "For now, let us return to the school, your classmates should all have their exams finished as well." All Might said before beginning to lead the students back to the school. As he walked, he tugged at the bracers on his arms while he glanced over his shoulder at Bakugo and Mako who were still glaring at each other. I think this might have backfired a little.

The tension between the two students lasted all the way to the school and stood outside the building where they were informed that they would be fighting against the teachers for this portion of their exam, when they arrived they had found that a majority of their class had thankfully passed their practical's as well. The only members of their class who didn't were Mina and Kaminari (which if he was being honest Mako wasn't totally surprised by) as well as Sato and Kirishima. Those who passed were dismissed to the changing room for the day. However Aizawa, Midnight, and Principal Nezu asked that Mako stay behind.

"What happened?" was Aizawa's blunt question.

"You mean aside from Bakugo once again being an asshole?" Mako asked snidely. His teacher's eyes flashed red for a brief second, but Mako didn't falter.

The principal, who was sitting on Eraserhead's shoulder, patted the teacher's head, "Mr. Metuki, we informed you that this exercise was the help you students prepare against the possibility of facing real villains." He began, "However there were many other factors to this practical portion of the final." He added.

Mako placed his hands on his hips, "Yeah I kind of figured, I mean me, Izuku, and Bakugo on the same team can't be just coincidence." He rationalized. "But I thought it was more about me not being so overprotective and trusting Izuku more?" he asked, recalling how that had been an issue that Aizawa had pointed out to him.

His homeroom teacher even nodded, "Your half right, and to your credit you did well, you trusted Midoriya's judgement and didn't compromise the objective when he was in trouble." The teacher said before his head lowered slightly. "However this was also a chance for the three of you to work out the friction between you three."

Mako shook his head, "Hey me and Izuku work great together, heck he's probably the better leader out of the three of us if I'm being honest. But Bakugo's the one who wouldn't even hear us out! Why am I the one getting chewed out here!?" he asked angerly.

Midnight raised her hands, "Your not getting chewed out Mako." She assured him.

The Viltrumite folded his arms over his chest, "Kind of feels like it when I'm the one whose here and not Bakugo." He replied.

"Bakugo will be dealt with." Aizawa told him, resulting in a scoff from Mako. That reaction caused Midnight to wince as Aizawa's glare focused on him, "Is there something you want to add to that?" he asked in a disciplinary voice.

Mako hesitated for a moment, before looking up, "Yes I do." He decided, "Since day 1 here Bakugo has been nothing but a jerk to everyone here, but you guys haven't done anything!" he complained to the trio. He pointed at Aizawa, "The first test we did? He tried charging at Izuku and you had to stop him before he hurt him! Then during the combat exercise he nearly blew him up with an attack that took out half a building!" he recalled. He looked to Midnight, "During the sports festival he had to be chained up to get his reward because he wanted to fight more. Oh! And let's not forget the dozens of times he's insulted, belittled, threatened, or just dismissed the other guys in my class. Hell, he doesn't even call anyone by their name!"

Aizawa's harsh gaze lessened somewhat, while he didn't approve of the backtalk, he could also see that Mako's frustration was genuine and his concerns were valid. Principal Nezu spoke up, "I see that you already have a strong opinion about Bakugo, and your concerns are not unfounded." The principal admitted, "However I ask that you see the potential that Young Bakugo has. Just as we all see in our students."

Mako's anger subsided slightly at Principal Nezu, the head of U.A. had always shown him kindness and understanding, and his talk with him after the USJ attack was something that he looked back on very fondly. So he considered what he was saying, did Bakugo have potential? Absolutely, as much as he didn't like him he couldn't deny that Bakugo had the making of a great hero on paper, but it was his personality that threw all of that into question.

"…that's the thing, I do. And that's what worries me." He admitted. Nezu leaned forward in interest. "Bakugo's got a powerful quirk and because of it, he's gotten a pass to be a real piece of shit in life." Mako said. He quickly considered if he should say the next part…..but then he decided that if he was going to be honest, he was going to be honest. "He was a bully to me and Izuku for years, teachers didn't do anything about it because he 'had a bright future.' " he said with air quotations.

Aizawa and Midnight flinched but didn't seem too surprised, Nezu's expression was neutral, but was still listening, "I see Bakugo getting away with this crap? And it tells me he's going to keep doing it because…he can't change. I don't think he ever will. I think he's a bad person…..and he shouldn't even be here because he's closer to being a villain than a hero." He said honestly.

Aizawa gave him a levelheaded look, "That's too far Mako. And it's not your call to make."

Invincible gave him a angered expression though his mask before pointing at his teacher, "You're the one who told him to grow up after the combat trial sensei, and he hasn't! He just doesn't pull the same stuff he used to because he knows that you'd throw his ass out in a second." He argued.

Midnight's expression morphed into one of confliction, she knew that Bakugo had an attitude problem. And there had been some discussions about having him talk with Hound Dog regarding his anger issues, but now it seemed like they needed to stop talking and start doing something about it. "I can understand your frustration Mako." Nezu finally said, "And I can't dispute the pattern that you see with young Bakugo, we as teachers believed that his competitive spirit might help push him to be better." He explained.

Mako gave him a stupefied look, "That's it?! You just wanted him to be better so you just let him be an asshole to everyone?!" he asked, his anger re-ignited.

Aizawa gave him a irritated look, his eyes flashing as his quirk activated as a precaution, "Mako. Watch your tone."

Invincible looked at him, "Your telling me that your letting Bakugo get away with being less of a bully then he used to be just because he has potential. What tone should I have here?!" he asked.

Midnight placed a hand on Aizawa's unoccupied shoulder, but kept her gaze on Mako, "Mako, don't think that we're going to allow Bakugo's behavior to continue. The reason we wanted to talk with you is because we felt that this would help him along with connecting with others."

"Oh great idea! Stick him on the team with two people he hates the most and force them to work together I'm sure that'll work!" he replied with sarcasm.

"Mako. Watch. Your. Tone." His teacher insisted with more force to his voice.

Mako opened his mouth but Midnight stepped between them, "Ok, no." She said decidedly. She turned to Aizawa, "Mako is airing his legitimate grievance and we're hearing him out, and he's been frustrated over this for a while. And after how the exam went he feels that we dumped responsibility onto him." She said. Mako felt himself relax until Midnight turned to him as well, "Mako while I understand your frustration, you need to show Aizawa the respect he deserves as your teacher." She said to the both of them.

Stepping away from them, Midnight stared at Mako who sighed before nodding, "I'm sorry Sensei. I just…Bakugo was a bully to me and Midoriya for years. And he never faced any punishment for it. And I couldn't do anything about it because no one would listen to either me or Izuku because our powers didn't manifest yet." He explained. "But that's no excuse to loose my cool with you…..I hope you can forgive me." He said, bowing his head slightly.

Aizawa nodded, "It's fine Mako…truth is your right, we've dealt with students with egos in the past, and usually a reality check like today is what snaps them out of it. Bakugo is more stubborn however." He explained. "And your right, we need to start considering more diciplinary action for him if his behavior continues."

Mako's shoulders sloughed at that, "That's all I want to hear." He admitted.

Nezu clapped his hands together, getting the student and teacher's attention, "Mako what you and young Midoriya experienced with Bakugo is something that I'm afraid isn't uncommon. However rest assured that we here at U.A. do not, and never will, tolerate any bullying. And if Bakugo does cross that line, we will throw the book at him. However until then, I firmly believe that he deserves a chance to prove to us that he's moved past the person he's used to be." He explained.

Mako felt the need to reiterate that Bakugo wasn't someone who deserved a chance like that, however looking at Nezu reminded him of when he came back after facing his father. They could have turned him away from the school and they had every right to. Instead they welcomed him back openly. "…..ok, that's fair. And it's your choice to make. But I've said my peace, but I'm going to be watching him. And the second he says anything-"

"You bring it to us immediately." Midnight said, nodding in agreement. "We'll have a discussion about this with Bakugo as well."

Mako nodded, "Alright…..um, can I go now? Or is there something else?" he asked.

Mako had never left school in a bad mood before, not since he begun attending U.A. at least. But today was like he was back in middle school, Bakugo getting away with being his usual pissant self and nobody doing anything to stop him. Walking out of the school, his friends could tell that something was wrong, when he had arrived back in the classroom, Iida had asked him what the teachers wanted him for. And was met with a dismissive excuse of 'nothing'. While the faculty promised that things were going to change, Mako still felt frustration over Bakugo's attitude today, he was hopeful that things would actually change but until then, he still had to deal with what happened today.

Uraraka elbowed Izuku slightly as they walked, the green haired teen turning to her questionably as she pointed at him with a confused look. Izuku had a good idea of what the foul mood was about given how their exam had gone and who they had to team up with. But such a matter wasn't really acceptable to be discussed out on the sidewalk on the way from school, someone would have to be socially inept to even ask-

"Mako, why are you in such a bad mood?" Todoroki bluntly asked.

Iida, Izuku, and Uraraka collectively hissed, the bi-colored teen looked at them with a tilted head before turning back to Mako who looked at him, "Bakugo." He said plainly.

Izuku sighed, "You can't let him get to you Mako."

The teen guffawed, "It's not even him that's bothering me! It's that nobody has done anything about him!" he exclaimed as he threw his hands up. He looked over his shoulder to his friend, "Did you tell them what happened?" he asked.

Uraraka looked at Izuku, "Tell us what?" she asked curiously.

"Bakugo clocked Izuku when he was trying to explain his plan to him when the exam started." Mako informed them. Uraraka's expression switched from curious to scandalized, turning to Deku she paid even more attention to the bruise that was just beneath his eye. Suddenly her concern turned to anger, her hands raised up and balled into fists.

"That fricking jerk! I should have dropped the whole stinking' stadium on his dumbass head!" she growled out, the group of five turning to her at her sudden outburst. She looked around as Izuku covered his own mouth, "What?"

"Did….did you just swear?" Mako asked in amusement.

The gravity user bowed her head as her face reddened, "I grew up around blue collar construction workers what do you think?" she asked.

"Uraraka that's highly inappropriate! Such language is unbefitting of a U.A. Student!" he exclaimed. Mako was about to retort with how Bakugo would swear up a storm, but upon reflection Iida was consistent with his standards and called him out on it as well. Izuku was staring at Uraraka like he didn't even know her anymore.

"That-That's not the point!" Uraraka said, waving her hands as though she was shielding herself from Iida's judgement, "Bakugo's the one to blame here!"

Shoto looked at her in confusion, "But he's not here, and what does he have to do with you swearing?"

Uraraka shot the bi-colored classmate a look of betrayal before waving her hands, "That's not the issue!" she denied.

"She's right, Bakugo is." Mako provided.

"Mako-" Izuku began, his friend turned to him with an already aggravated expression. "-I'm not condoning what Kaachan did. But….you didn't exactly help by getting angry at him either." He replied diplomatically.

"What do you expect me to do?" Mako asked him.

Iida held up a hand between them, "While I agree that Bakugo's behavior isn't always befitting of a U.A. student-" he began, the others giving him a dry look as Iida's idea of a U.A. student was somewhere between a saint and the Buddha, "-but as heroes we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard." He said before his expression faltered, "Even when we fall short, we need to aim ourselves higher."

Mako's expression softened somewhat, he clearly was referring to his screw up in Hosu city. "But I have! Look me and Bakugo didn't have the best first meeting as kids-"

"You punched him in the face." Izuku said with a chuckle.

"-so after that, I tried a few times to bury the hatchet." Mako continued, "I apologized, I asked for forgiveness, and I said it wouldn't happen again. All he did was laugh in my face for thinking that I could ever hurt him."

Uraraka looked at Izuku worriedly, "Has he….always been like this?" she asked with concern. When Deku had told her that Bakugo had given the nickname 'Deku' meaning 'useless', she thought it was the same way a brother might call another one a jerk or something. But this sounded like she had been WAY off base.

"Yes/No." Mako and Izuku said at once. The two gave each other a look.

"Kaachan wasn't always like this." Izuku explained.

Mako raised a finger, "Ok first off, he was like six. None of us are like how we were back then." He argued. He raised another finger, "And secondly, it doesn't matter if he was a decent guy before, he's an asshole now. Why do you keep making excuses for him?" Mako shot at his friend in annoyance. "Look you gotta stand up to him and tell him your done taking his shit, I mean your quirk finally came in and he can't deal with not being the top of the ladder anymore."

Izuku lowered his head, recalling back to after the battle trail how he went after Bakugo, "He….mentioned something about that….after our first class with All Might, how he felt like he was nowhere near the top anymore."

Mako groaned, "What did you say that made his ego come back? He would have been fine if he was just depressed for a while."

"Mako! That's-that's….frankly I don't know if that's just plain wrong or worse." Iida replied.

The teen rolled his eyes, "Oh come on, am I gonna hear it from you too Iida? How he's got so much potential and we should cut him some slack?" he asked in a mocking tone as he recalled his teacher's words. "Shouldn't even be in U.A. after the shit he pulled."

Iida, Shoto, and Uraraka all turned to him at that particular comment while Izuku visibly paled. Shit. Mako thought at the slip up.

Uraraka's eyes narrowed slightly and leaned forward, "Mako, what are you talking about?" she asked inquisitively with a edge to her tone. Looking over at his friend, Izuku looked down in shame, that incident was something that Izuku himself never brought up. And part of Mako's fear was that…..maybe on some small level, Izuku might have actually considered Bakugo's advice.

The mere thought alone was enough to make his blood boil, but if it had happened? Forget complaining to the teachers, Mako wouldn't rest until everyone knew what he had done and got punished for it. "It's…he said some shit to me that crossed the line is all." He fibbed. Glancing over at Izuku, his friend looked up and gave a grateful nod. Reaching for his phone, he saw the time and looked at his friend, "Oh hey that reminds me! We got a dinner at my place, want me to give you a lift?" He offered.

Izuku smiled and nodded, the two turned to their friends, "I'd offer as well but I only got the two arms and dragging someone through the air by the arm or something isn't exactly comfortable."

Izuku shot him a look, "Like when you held me by the leg when you flew me and Melissa home?" he asked.

Uraraka snorted, making Izuku give her a look of betrayal while Shoto and Iida both nodded in understanding, "It's fine Mako, I'm not heading home right away either. I need to go with my parents to talk about Tensei's physical therapy." He explained.

"I wouldn't like to be dangled by my arm at a great altitude. Thank you though." Was Shoto's plain response.

Getting to the Midoriya household from U.A. would take around half an hour by train, but flying through the air at high speeds cut that time down by five minutes, which was more than enough time for Mako to drop his friend off to change, pick him up, and then continue onto his own home where he also changed out of his school uniform. "I can't remember the last time we got together like this." Kali said as Inko helped her in the kitchen by chopping up the ham she had set aside. "Hon you don't need to help me."

Inko smiled as she shook her head, "I want to! Consider it thanks for inviting me and Izuku over to celebrate exams being done." She replied happily. Looking over her shoulder, she saw their sons both engaged in her Izuku going through notes while Mako flipped through one of his bigger comics he had recently gotten. Inko smiled at the familiar sight before turning to Kali, "So what's this I hear about Mako having a girlfriend?" she asked.

Kali smiled, "Melissa, she lives over on I-Island. Mako flies over to visit her every week. She's studying to make support items, she's probably the smartest girl I've ever met." She admitted. Inko cooed, "You'd love her, next time she visits I'll call you and Izuku to come over meet her."

"I already met her during the sports festival Ms. Metuki!" Izuku called out from the living room.

Inko looked over at her son's best friend, "Are you happy Mako?" she asked sincerely. The teen put his book down and nodded with a large smile, "Oh that's good."

"Yeah. I'm actually going to spend some of summer break with her. Before we go to the Summer Training Camp we got two weeks and I'm going to the I-Island Expo with her. It's gonna be a blast." He said excitedly. Inko's eyes widened at the revelation, turning to Kali the woman had a smirk on her face, nodding at the unasked question. Inko covered her mouth with her hand to cover the smile blooming on her face as well.

"Mako does she have any friends?" she asked.

"If your asking me to hook Izuku up, I can't help him there." Mako replied.

Izuku gawked at him in disbelief, before he could dispute that's what his mom had actually meant he looked at her and saw the disappointment on her features. "MOM!" he balked. Mako snickered as he nudged his fiend with his foot.

"Relax, besides didn't you and Uraraka go see that movie last week?" he asked casually as he could manage without allowing the Cheshire cat like grin that was fighting it's way to his face. Izuku's face turned scarlet at the insulation, when Mako and Iida had messaged him to cancel their attendance, it resulted in Izuku and Ochako spending two hours sitting in a movie theatre together…..almost like a couple.

"Th-That was an impromptu hang out!" he defended, covering his face with his hands while steam rolled off him. Mako rolled his eyes and looked over at his mom who was patting Inko's shoulder as the woman's tears spouted from her eyes at her son going on a date with someone. Kali glanced over to the balcony and her amused to shock.

"Mako…..is that…." She asked before pointing out the window.

Mako turned his head, and his jaw and book dropped.

Standing on the balcony in a red shirt, beige pants, and wearing goggles over his head with a jetpack strapped around his shoulders was a human sized Yorkshire Terrier with grey fur.

"…..SCIENCE DOG IS REAL?!"

AN: Finally! Took a little detour with another fic that I posted over on AO3 as a oneshot but it was just what I needed to get back on track here! And just in time for season six of MHA to end. Man….we're really only getting one more season huh? Kind of surreal.

But hey we finally got around to Mako complaining about how U.A. hasn't done anything about Bakugo so I'm really happy. I actually re-wrote that conversation between him and the teachers like three times because it didn't feel right. I think it ends in a good place though, Mako gets his point across, the teachers heard him, and his stance on Bakugo is clear.

Thankfully we still got PLENTY of this fic to go through.

Including the next mini arc that's…got some pretty big stuff that's gonna happen to be honest, like I almost want to say stop reading the fic here because I'm like 90% sure this will be the finale of season 2 and they'll probably do it WAY better then I could!

Anyway, onto reviews Invinciheads!

Awesomerebel55: Ha! Good wordplay. But yeah Mako being added to the mix gives them more options because unlike Bakugo, Mako is willing to formulate a plan with izuku to pass the exam.

Dragon King of the West: It's not exactly transferring his consciousness, see he basically copies his mind and puts it into another. Which I think is actually a even WORSE fate because like they explain in the comic and the show, it's super messed up to know that you're a copy of the original when your memories don't line up that way.

KajuEmperor: Yeah I really, REALLY wanted to have Mako deck Bakugo but I have something in mind for that, and it's actually going to be really satisfying I think.

Ben: Yeah I quickly realized how fricking OP Jon would be in RWBY and he could basically just stop everything before it started so there wouldn't be any real conflict. Plus I felt like I'm writing this fic which has a half alien character who goes to a school to be a protector vs a fic that has the same thing. Plus I felt like I was mainly writing it for the character interaction instead of the story. Which is fun when it happens but I think made it feel just kind of hollow.

Guest 2: Ok look, I've been as clear as I can be about this. I thought I knew what 'planning a story out' meant and was really wrong about it. It was over three years ago, and since then I've learned from it and moved on. And I'm honestly kind of done talking about it. Please keep the reviews focused on this story instead of one that's dead and buried for years now.

Sarcasam Sage 626: Yeah we all sort of forget that Cecil has basically unchecked authority when it comes to the superheroes of the world. And yeah the talk with Mako and his mom was a spur of the moment decision but it came naturally after I started writing it. It's not meant to tease or be played for laughs, she just wants her son to be safe. It's a sweet moment.

Guest : I didn't get death threats but I did have one person have his friends try and harass me across my other media like tumblr into giving them an apology they felt they were owed after giving one already. So I want to stop before I get to the point of death threats. It's honestly why I sometimes consider disabling guest reviews, so they can't hide and I can properly block them if they keep it up.

Alright that's it! Also, stay tuned for a surprise oneshot fanfic coming soon!
