Chapter 17
AN: Hello all, it's been a long time. As always thanks to everyone who reviewed the last chapter. Anyway I hadn't realized it had been so long since I updated and decided to give this chapter a go. It's not as long as other chapters but this marks the beginning of season 3. This arc that I'm calling the senior year arc will combine both seasons 3 and 4 of TVD since Mikael is already dead. Anyway I don't want to spoil anything so here is the new chapter.
Start Now:
High School senior year, it was the one year of school that high school students looked forward to. For some it was the year of culmination, especially for athletes who were hoping to move up to the next level. For others it was the time to relax after three years of hard work. For one group of students in particular they were determined that it would be both. Matt Donovan for instance knew it to mean one final season to earn a football scholarship, while he had other options football was his first love and he was chasing that dream. For Caroline, Bonnie and Elena the year didn't mean so much and they were already looking to the next year, and college.
While they knew there were exams and papers that needed to be done, that was par for the course. The four had as a group gone to Damon, Stefan and Naruto and asked them very kindly to not fuck up their senior year. Wisely the brothers had decided they would try their best, but no promises were made. Rose had volunteered to get Damon out of town for the year but none of them felt like things were that bad yet.
For Naruto he had decided that he would spend this year on two projects of equal importance, finding Lily and dealing with The Other Side. For the latter endeavor he had recruited the elder Bennet witches to help him in his search for answers. Once they knew that it was one of their ancestors who created the dimensional plane and what it was causing they had been determined to help set things to rights. For the former it was something that he'd gotten Damon and Stefan to focus their energy on as it was in their interest as well.
At the moment however none of that mattered to Naruto, instead his focus was on his apprentice who was currently balancing upside down on a single finger. Her form was covered in sweat though he paid her no mind which at this point she wasn't expecting him to. She had been up there for about five hours now and Naruto could tell that she was struggling now, not that he cared. In truth he was a fair bit annoyed with her and had let her know it, though his face was looking into a tablet instead of at her.
"You know this is your fault for slacking off this summer." Said Naruto
"I trained; I swear I did." Said Caroline a small pinprick of red energy emitting from her finger being all that is keeping her from falling.
"Perhaps, just not as much as you could have. If you worked as intensely as you should have you'd have grown another tail over the summer." Said Naruto.
"I didn't know, I thought you were letting me have the summer off." Said Caroline.
"You are my apprentice Caroline, that is a full-time commitment. There is no time off, your duty to me comes before everything else and my duty to you is the same. Is that not what we agreed."
"Yes!" exclaimed the teen, her body wavering before her energy solidified again.
"When I left you here this summer it was in the belief that you were basically a grown woman and did not need me to hold your hand at all times. Do you wish to be treated as a child or an adult?"
"Adult!"
"Very well. We won't need to have this discussion again will we?"
"No sir!"
"Good. You can come down."
At his word she nearly collapsed pitching forward and landing on her back panting heavily.
"Take five minutes to rest. Then pick up your blade and get to practicing. I want 200 draws followed each set of swings in equal numbers." Said Naruto not even looking up from his work.
Turning away from the collapsed form of her daughter Elizabeth Forbes turned to regard another version of Naruto, this one who appeared near her own age.
"I can't believe what you have her doing." Said the woman shaking her head.
"She's stronger than you think Liz and that has nothing to do with Kitsune blood." Said Naruto
"Your good for her, better than William and I are." Said Liz.
"You don't give yourself enough credit. That girl out there, everything she is she learned from the two of you. The only negative in her eyes is your busy but she understands and wouldn't trade you for anything." Said Naruto
"You haven't changed at all, have you. Different name and face maybe but Arashi was still you." Said Liz.
"I'm too old to change who I am at my core. My clones, even if they don't know they're clones are still part of me." Said Naruto shrugging.
"I still can't believe how old you are, I don't know how you stay sane." Said the woman.
"Honestly, it's because I don't spend all my time here. I spend a lot of my time in the afterlife with my family and other dimensions. I've seen some amazing things but some pretty horrible ones too."
"Sounds like Caroline will have quite the adventure ahead of her." Said Liz.
"You will to. This place it's just the beginning, no one ever truly dies, just transitions to new places." Said Naruto
"Dying isn't so scary when you put it like that." Said the woman.
"It's not meant to be. It's just a mystery to mortals and all mortals have a fear of the unknown."
Meanwhile across the country in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Mikaelson compound Rebekah could be seen sitting out looking at the rising sun. In her hand she held a vial of glowing blood, the serum that would allow her to merge her Mikaelson line to the Corvinus line. She was one of the few that hadn't taken the serum at this point, the other being Klaus, though that was mostly because he'd been enjoying his new existence as a hybrid. Kol, Finn and Elijah hadn't hesitated in taking it and neither had Markus, Amelia or William which made sense to her.
At the moment however the compound was basically empty giving her some time to herself. Elijah and Amelia were still off on their honeymoon while Kol and Finn were in the city. The only one still in the compound with her currently was Niklaus and he was in his office. This had allowed her time to think and after making up her mind she stood and made her way inside and after a quick stop to her room to hype herself up a bit more she made her way to her brothers office. She found him with his head in some papers and even though they were alone she closed the door behind her which got his attention.
"Rebekah what the hell!" exclaimed Klaus hurriedly putting his head back down.
"Look at me Nik." Said Rebekah sounding braver to her ears than she felt.
"Becka…"
"Nik, look at me." Repeated the girl cutting him off.
Biting back a sigh Niklaus looked up to find his sister standing in front of him in nothing but red lingerie which included stockings and a garter belt made with a sheer material that still covered anything inappropriate. Turning around slowly she exposed the fact she was wearing a thong.
"Rebekah what is this?" questioned Klaus.
"As far as I can figure it's what you want. You have sabotaged every relationship I've ever been in; it has to stop now. Either fuck me or let me live my life Nik."
"Bloody hell." Said Klaus massaging the bridge of his nose.
"I need you to choose Nik. Am I getting naked or not."
"Rebekah, you're my sister." Said Klaus.
"And? Werewolves will fuck their siblings if the attraction is strong enough, hell that's accepted. Choose."
"Put some bloody clothes on." Said Klaus.
"You sure? If I walk out of that door that's it, the offer expires."
"Go get dressed." Said Klaus not even hesitating causing her to breathe out of sigh of relief.
"I knew you weren't that far gone." Said Rebekah before turning and leaving the room while Klaus put his head down trying to avoid the sight of her ass.
Several minutes later she returned now fully dressed much to his relief, though he was surprised when she placed the serum down on the desk.
"What's going on?" questioned Klaus.
"I'm leaving. One of my friends reached out to me, a girl I turned told me there's a chance I could have children. It means I'd have to give up being a vampire but I'm willing to pay that price." Said Rebekah.
"How sure is she?" questioned Klaus,
"100% she's the first that was turned, though that was completely by accident. From what I learned the same thing happened to Katerina not long ago, though this time it was purposeful." Explained Rebekah.
"Why does this matter so much to you?" questioned Nik.
"Nik, this is what I was raised for. You boys were raised to be warriors. Me, I always dreamed of being married and having kids. We both know I'd have been married off if Henrik hadn't died when he did."
"And you want this bad enough to be human, with a human lifespan?" questioned Klaus.
"That's the thing I won't be human. In fact according to Lexi I'll become even stronger, I just won't be a vampire anymore."
"Sounds to good to be true, what's the catch?"
"I'll need to join Naruto's harem."
The spy network that the IMF had was immense, it spanned the globe with assets all over the world and including the supernatural community. With those resources there was not much that they could not learn nor a circle they couldn't enter once it caught their attention. The Head of the Supernatural Affairs Division was Alexander Harris, a position that none of the people he went to school with nor even he himself would have thought he would achieve in his life. Naruto had however seen his potential early on and nurtured it, after high school he'd joined the IMF full time while the rest of his friends had gone off to college or to follow their passions. His cover at the time had been a construction worker, something everyone bought into easily enough.
Eventually he'd been forced to come clean by his own conscious when the Slayers had needed help the most. Following the battle with the First Evil and the destruction of the Hellmouth the slayers had all joined the IMF and the Watchers Council had been absorbed. The Slayers became a supernatural strike force led by Buffy and Faith while he became the departments head much to their surprise as he was now technically the boss and not Buffy or Faith. Turns out this was actually for the best as it let the slayers focus on what they were good at which was fighting while he focused on everything else. Of course he was no slouch in a fight but these days he didn't really see much need to be in the field, nor did he have much desire to. Instead he opted to spend that energy with his wives, his high school sweetheart Cordelia and Buffy's younger sister Dawn.
At the moment he could be found in his office frowning as he looked over numerous reports. Something had been nagging at him for the last while regarding a report he'd gone over and had prompted him to look deeper. His eyes normally black had changed now red with three comma-like markings surrounding the pupil of each eye. He had noticed a pattern in the reports and though not meant for this activity his eyes definitely helped him in this regard. Finally everything came together, and he cursed quite audibly and fishing out his phone called Willow to come see him. A few minutes later his long-time best friend entered the room and frowned easily able to see his unease.
"What's wrong?" questioned Willow.
"I know I'm not the biggest history buff but wasn't there a story about a sect of witches who were so dangerous that there was some kind of curse on them?" questioned Xander
"Yeah, the Travelers. The curse prevents them from using traditional magic and from gathering as a tribe."
"Well, unless I'm missing something they may have found a way around that." Said Xander causing her eyes to widen.
After his time with Caroline wrapped up Naruto found himself with a bit of free time and decided to check up on another project. In this instance however it required him to drive something he hadn't done much of lately. Of course as he was going into a new school year he'd decided to change things up with a new car, or at least a different one. As such he'd sent the Yenko into storage and had brought out a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454, orange with black stipes to go with the black roof the license plates of which read Kurama. Of course some work had been done over the years it had gone from 450 to 900 horsepower.
The drive wasn't a long one at all however it was required as he'd layered a lot of magical protection over his destination, even incorporating magic from other worlds all in an effort to keep it hidden. Within twenty minutes and after passing through several magical checkpoints he was pulling up at his destination, the Salvatore Estate.
The place had been transformed and was far from the ruin it had been just the previous year. As he pulled up multiple versions of himself could be seen hard at work, one of whom began approaching as soon as he pulled up.
"Hey boss, what's up." Said the clone, who was acting as the foreman leaning down to the window so they could speak
"I had a bit of free time and figured I'd come see how things are going." Said Naruto.
"Things are going well. Actually we're ahead of schedule, our last supply drop came with some surplus they let us have at a discount. I say in about three or four months the place should be livable provided we don't have any setbacks." Said the foreman.
"So long?" questioned Naruto frowning.
"I mean we could speed it up but we don't want to use too much magic on the place. One of the boys had the thought that the place could end up semi-sentient that way." Said the clone.
That actually caused Naruto to blink in surprise. He actually hadn't thought about that but now that he had it took a bit of effort to not facepalm. He had forgotten about the quirks that places built by magic could have, places like Hogwarts, the Sanctum Sanctorum, the House of Mystery and the Tower of Fate came to mind quickly.
"Yeah, good idea. The last magic in the construction the better in this case." Said the original
"Aside from that anything else I should know?" questioned the original.
"Not right now. The design is finalized already so no changes obviously. We did carve out an underground area for an extra party room though just in case so you'll need to do some extra shopping to fill it up." Said the clone.
"More shopping?" questioned the original frowning.
"The fun kind, you'll have a list by tonight." Said the clone.
"I'll take your word for it. I was hoping to do a walkthrough today but that'll have to wait for another time." Said Naruto.
"I'll let you know when that time comes." Said the clone.
"Right. What about the designer?" questioned Naruto
"Well compensated and the memory was locked into his mind and buried. He knows he designed a place, and he knows why he doesn't remember any details." Said the clone.
"Make sure Hinata and Himawari get the first look." Said Naruto.
"Got it boss." Said the clone before backing away allowing the original to pull off.
The last few weeks of summer seemed to fly by and before anyone knew it September had come around and as such the time to return to school. During that time Stefan and Elena had a sit down and decided that they wouldn't get back together mostly because the lives they had would lead them in different directions. In order for their relationship to work Elena would need to become a vampire which is something she had no intention of doing.
She had brought up him becoming a kitsune but that was shot down by Stefan who explained it was too late for that as Naruto had created a serum to combine different vampire breeds and he'd been one of the first to take it. The result of this was that he was stronger and could now have children but only with a vampire. Of course neither of them had spoken to Naruto himself regarding the situation and as such seeing that they had reached an impasse they called it quits, agreeing to just be friends. Then with that settled they had sex, both knowing it would be the last time before they went their separate ways.
The school year unofficially started on September 5th, which was a Sunday though more importantly it was Senior Prank Night. Taking this as the first night of their return to normalcy Caroline had been all for it and her excitement had prove infectious for Elena, Bonnie and Matt. Stefan had of course been roped into helping though Naruto had decline stating there was no challenge in it for him. Instead he had decided to stay in that night after a bit of thought summoned Hinata along with their three youngest to have a movie night.
The first week of school seemed to fly by with both students and staff alike sliding back into their routines with ease. As cheerleaders the news that Elena and Caroline were both single had seemed to travel across the school like lightning, consequently letting everyone know that Matt and Stefan were on the market as well. For Naruto he would admit he had begun to enjoy the life of a regular teenager especially in the modern world as it was never as stressful as his mortal life. Of course he wasn't a regular teenager, nor a teenager at all but that wasn't the point considering he was currently a high school student and was living that existence.
Unlike his classmates however he had other things going on with his life and was making moves even as they sat in class, most of which had nothing to do with the supernatural world. This was proven even as he sat beside his small group in the schools outdoor lunch area when his phone rung. Grabbing it and seeing who it was he motioned his area for silence which he got pretty quickly.
"Hey Jim, how's it going?" started the blond listening silently for a few minutes and nodding before looking at his watch.
"Right. I'll look it all over and if it checks out I'll have it all signed and back to you by tomorrow." Said Naruto before listening again.
"Trust me Jimmy you won't regret this." Said Naruto before hanging up.
"What's that about?" questioned Matt only to get a hand up telling him to wait while Naruto hit a different contact and hit dial.
"Hey, how are you?" came the feminine voice from the other end.
"Hey Peyton, you busy." Questioned Naruto
"Not really. Just getting ready for an interview." Came the response.
"Well you might want to sit down for bit."
"What's going on?"
"I just got off the phone with Jimmy Iovine, you Peyton Sawyer are now the owner of Red Bedroom Records with a Joint Venture Deal with Interscope Records."
"Holy shit! Are you for real?!" exclaimed the girl.
"Yup. You ready for the rest?" questioned the blonde
"There's more?"
"Well you can't have a label with no artist. I've been working on this for a bit so to start you off I have a couple of names, ready?"
"I'm ready."
"So I know you're more rock focused, but I went and spoke to some people that agreed to help you out. Miley Cyrus, an up and comer Bruno Mars, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and another up and comer named Ariana Grande. Production wise I got you a deal that will let you tap any producer under the Universal Music Group umbrella."
"Oh my God."
"Lastly I have a couple artist who haven't signed on but are willing if you can convince them. Two of them should be fairly simple for you, I'm sure you know Haley James Scott and Bonnie Bennett." Said Naruto getting Bonnie to look at him in shock joining everyone else who was already starring at him.
"Yeah, yeah. I can do that." Said Peyton.
"Okay the last name is a friend of mine who wants a face to face, just be yourself I already told her all about you." Said Naruto.
"Who is it?"
"Beyoncé."
"OH MY GOD!"
"My lawyers already have the paperwork, so I'll come over in a few hours and you can sign."
"Oh my god. Naruto I don't know how to thank you for this." Said Peyton
"Hey relax your basically family now. It was only right I looked out for you and my friends were happy to help, especially since this will help them as well. Just try to relax and I'll see you in a bit." Said Naruto moving to hang up and just barely getting the phone away from his ear before she released an excited scream.
The introduction of ultraviolet ammunition had changed the game. What had before been meant to be a long-term scouting and information gathering assignment had quickly become an assault operation. Led by Buffy and Faith an IMF strike team composed solely of slayers hit the Strix stronghold in the British countryside in Southeast England backed up by two more strike teams though these had no slayers. Whereas before they had been equipped solely with wooden stakes and maybe holy water those had been replaced by pistols, submachine guns and even shotguns among other tools all of which were loaded with ultraviolet ammunition.
When the attack began the vampires were immediately put on the back foot as upon breaching UV grenades were sent in taking out more than a few vampires in the initial attack. As if that wasn't bad enough they struck in the middle of the day leaving the vampires with no choice but to play defense. The teams were a well oiled machine and worked with military precision as they swept through the castle leaving dusted vampires in their wake. For the more experienced slayers blessed as they were with their heightened abilities the new weapons made the job almost too easy, especially for Buffy and Faith, not that they would ever give them up.
In the end by the time the teams were done less than 100 of the vampires had survived all of whom were gathered in a central area. The Sisters had all been put in enchanted sleeps prior to the attack and once the place was secure they were evacuated from the premises. From her position with the rest of the survivors Aya Al-Rashid, grit her teeth as she dug a wooden bullet from her shoulder dropping it so that it grouped with the other three she'd pulled from her body already. She knew better to do more than that however with all the guns currently trained on them they'd no doubt be put down before they could do much more than take out those immediately in front of them. The sound of approaching footsteps echoing on the stone floors is what caught her attention and as she looked upon the entering figure she found her eyes narrowing.
The figure who entered was a man who stood at 6'2" with brown hair and hazel green eyes. He wore a pair of black pants and a grey sweater with a black overcoat. She quickly determined this man whoever he was, was no human like the rest of those who had attacked them.
"I must admit I'm impressed. I didn't think this lot would be taken out so quickly." Said the man.
"Our people our the best and we have all of the best toys." Said Buffy her helmet now removed though the rest of her military grade armor was still on.
"Is this all that remains?" questioned the man.
"Yeah, some of those we wanted to spare were unfortunate casualties, mostly because they were used as shields." Said Faith.
"Tristan?"
"Dead, I got him myself." Said Buffy
"Good." Said the man before finally turning to face the group of vampires.
"My name is Finn Mikaelson." Said the man causing several eyes especially Aya's to widen.
"Good, you've heard of me. Regrettably Elijah could not be here, he is currently enjoying his honeymoon, thus this task has been left to me." Said Finn.
"Task? What did that bastard send you to execute us?" spat Aya.
"No. You are his children, the blood of his blood. I was sent to ensure you survived. Regrettably some of your number needed to be put down. As Elijah said there were simply too many ego-maniacal sociopaths amongst your numbers." Stated Finn causing a few of them to chuckle.
"Sounds like Elijah. What is to become of us then?" questioned Aya.
"That depends entirely on you Ms. Rashid. As I said I was only here to ensure you survived, my advise however is to listen to Ms. Summers." Said Finn before turning and walking away.
"So that was Finn, I honestly never thought he'd be awakened." Said one of the vampires.
"All of the Originals are awake, Mikael is dead however. Those were Klaus's last actions before he stepped down as head of the family." Said Buffy.
"Niklaus stepped down?" questioned Aya in surprise.
"Yup, turns out he never wanted to lead in the first place. Elijah is now the recognized head of the family." Said Buffy.
Klaus Mikaelson had returned to Mystic Falls. The single sentence had been enough to send Elena into a panic attack. Luckily all of her closest friends were there and were offering her all of the comfort and support they could. They were currently all gathered in the Salvatore Boarding House, had actually been summoned there actually something that had not happened in some time. Even Matt, Alaric and Jeremy were there, which was a bonus as far as Elena was concerned.
"What does he want now?" questioned Damon scowling.
"Klaus nothing, his curse has been broken and he is finally an active hybrid and can even create others, so he is content." Said Naruto causing a few of them to breath a sigh of relief.
"So why did he come back?" questioned Caroline.
"Well as you all should know the Originals lived here long ago, and became vampires in this town, so I suppose they feel a certain fondness for the area. However in this instance he's here in support of Rebekah." Said Naruto
"Rebekah is here?" questioned Stefan in surprise and not a little dread.
"She'll be attending Mystic Falls High School this year." Stated Naruto
"Who is Rebekah, and why does Stefan look so scared?" questioned Jeremy
"Rebekah or Princess Rebekah as we call her is one of the Originals and the only girl." Said Rose Marie
"Princess Rebekah?" questioned Elena.
"She's the favored sibling of all of them. Which pretty much means she get's whatever she wants." Said Rose
"Great a spoiled overpowered vampire." Said Caroline.
"Why is this my life?" questioned Elena
"She's also my ex-girlfriend." Said Stefan causing several of them to blink before turning to him in surprise
"What the fuck!" exclaimed Elena turning to glare at him.
"We had a short thing in the 1920's, my humanity was turned off at the time." Said Stefan.
"Stefan was compelled to forget Klaus and Rebekah when they were forced to flee Chicago. I broke the compulsion while he was in therapy." Said Naruto.
"So what does Rebekah want now, I reunion with Stefan?" questioned Damon.
"No. Rebekah is driven by but one goal, breaking her curse." Revealed Rose.
"Not another curse." Said Elena her hand falling into her knees while she resisted the urge to scream in frustration.
"Rebekah's curse is Vampirism." Said Naruto shocking everyone.
"Remember she is over 1000 years old. Her only desire is to marry and more importantly have children. She feels she is only half a woman." Said Rose.
"How would you know that?" questioned Damon frowning.
"She's my friend." Said Rose simply.
"Regardless she's here because of Lexi who was turned by Rebekah and told her there is a way for her to have children." Said Naruto
"Wait, what?" said Elena in surprise
"Are you serious!" exclaimed Bonnie.
"Am I missing something?" questioned Alaric
"Rebekah came to join Naruto's harem." Said Bonnie.
"What?" questioned Damon deadpan.
"Naruto can turn a vampire into a kitsune, we found that out over the summer when we met up with Lexi who he turned accidently. Then he did it to Katherine purposely, that's why she left." Said Bonnie frowning.
"So why are we still vampires then?" questioned Damon frowning.
"Because that transformation is triggered during intercourse, and I don't swing that way." Said Naruto causing both of his brothers to blanch.
"Yeah, I'm good. I'd rather stick to being a vampire." Said Damon with Stefan quickly agreeing.
"Unless we can find the cure for vampirism there's no way for you to become kitsune's as of now. That's why I had the serum developed." Said Naruto.
"Speaking of the serum, how is that coming?" questioned Damon causing Naruto to blink
"I never gave it to you?" questioned Naruto in surprise
"No, I just thought it wasn't finished." Said Damon with a shrug.
"Klaus had me take it over the summer for my training." Said Stefan.
Naruto frowned before channeling his power into his right hand and slashing down the air in the space to his right creating a distortion. Sticking his hand in he rummaged around for a bit before pulling his hand out holding a scroll while the distortion faded.
"What the hell was that?" questioned Alaric.
"Small pocket dimension, basically storage." Said Naruto.
Standing up he moved over to the table in front of Elena, Bonnie and Caroline and proceeded to place it down. Opening it he bit his thumb and swiped the blood down one of the characters on the scroll causing a pair of vials to appear in a plume of smoke. Unlike the vials that the Mikaelsons had received these were purple instead of red, though they were glowing.
"Take these." Said Naruto passing one to Damon and one to Stefan.
Turning away from them he looked over the scroll again before once again biting his thumb and swiping the blood across another character producing a single yellow one that he handed to Rose-Marie.
"Why are they different colors?" questioned Elena.
"Because there are different levels. The yellow one is basic, it causes the two vampire strains to merge. The second level is the purple one, only a few of these were made, these are for witches who became vampires, it will give them a new connection to magic by creating what's called a core. The final one is the one the Originals took, that one is red and has a lot more perks." Explained Naruto.
Shrugging the three vampires downed the potions and had only barely finished them before they slumped into unconsciousness. Seeing this Naruto made a motion and all three of them were engulfed by orbs and sent to their rooms.
"So what about Rebekah, should we be worried?" questioned Jeremy bringing the conversation back to the original topic.
"I don't think so. I'll set up a meeting with them and iron out some details. I'll do my best to make sure this doesn't effect your senior year." Said Naruto getting nods from the seniors.
While all of them were hopeful none of them were willing to tempt fate, this was still Mystic Falls and with Klaus back in town anything could happen.
AN: That's it the chapter is over. As you can see even more changes have happened and more will be on the way. This chapter seems to have simply wrote itself but everything makes sense from my point of view. Naruto has actually not done much but his few actions have caused ripples that turned into massive waves, I just wanted to give things time to build up.
