Danny smiles as Stocking sat close to Danielle, but also far enough not to be right in her face. Even Jazz was growing attached to her. However, Danny knew Vlad was after her and Danielle was having a hard time holding herself together. However, there was one person that kept giving a look that he was growing to hate.
"Gaterbelt, I told you before, Dani is my family. Clone or not!" He said to the Priest.
Gaterbelt sighs. He heard Danielle's story. He's seen how the others react to her. He understood that Danielle was her own person. But he still couldn't shake she shouldn't exist because of how she was born.
"Forgive me, but it really hard not to think that she's shouldn't be alive because she was cloned from you. As I mention before, I'm not heartless, so I won't do anything to hurt her." He said.
Danny sighs. Panty and Stocking told him about Gaterbelt and how he lived throughout the history of the bible as punishment for his actions. Something he's still having trouble believing.
"Try talking to her. It might help you see her in a different light." Danny said before going to join the others.
Stocking couldn't stop fawning over Danielle and was doing her best not to make her uncomfortable like before. Stocking push some ice cream near her before smiling.
"I still can't believe that stupid old fuck would hurt you." She said.
Danny could have sworn he heard Vlad sneeze after she said that.
"Um, are you sure you're an angel?" Danielle asked, confused.
"Panty and Stocking have been like that. Not sure how they use to live in heaven, but we're used to it." Jazz told her.
"Plus, me and Jazz kind of picked it up too. Let's just say it starts to feel right after a while. Hell, even Gaterbelt swears." Danny said, sitting next to his cousin.
"And we understand that you're put off by it. Just give it time." Panty added.
"Ok?" Danielle said, confused.
"We lived here for four months, Dani. It might take you the same time." Jazz said.
"If I don't melt down first," Danielle added.
"Speaking of which, how it coming, Brief?" Danny asked the boy.
"Not too good. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how she still holding herself together. The thing is, she's not supposed to be!" He said, surprising everyone.
"What do you mean?" Jazz asked.
"From what I can tell. She's very unstable. Up to the point where she was supposed to break down in a few days! Even if Vlad did keep his promise, it wouldn't matter. It could take me years to find out how she broke down and it would be too late to save her." He said.
Danielle frowns, she didn't know that. Danny looked down, feeling a bit upset with himself. Stocking notices her boyfriend's mood and places a hand on his.
"There has to be some way we can save her." Jazz said.
Brief looks away. He really didn't want to say these words.
"I know that look. Come on, Greek boy. Out with it." Panty said, making him sigh.
"Danny, Jazz, I'm truly sorry, but there is no way we can save her before she melts down." He said, looking away.
Danny and Jazz were completely shocked at that. Danielle looks like she was ready to cry before Jazz hugged the younger girl.
"It's okay, Brief. Thanks for trying." Danny said, understanding.
Even Gaterbelt frowns at the words. From what he was told, while Danielle might appear as a young girl, she was a lot younger than that. Seeing a young life end so fast never sat right with him.
"Then, I guess the best thing we can down is make sure her remaining time will be one she won't forget." He said, closing his eyes.
Danny and Jazz could hear the grief tone in his voice and sighs.
"Do you think we can do that, Dani?" Danny asked her.
"Y-yeah." She said, wiping a tear from her eye.
Stocking frowns. She just met her and they couldn't help her until after she melts down. It didn't sit right with her. She turns to Panty, who nodded.
"Well, I think we should give her a tour of Daten City!" Panty said.
"None of your tours." Jazz said, still recalling how Panty took her and Danny to places she liked.
"What about my tour?" Stocking asked.
"Well, Danielle isn't a goth, and I rather not have her a sugar rush," Danny said, thinking.
"How about you two give your own tours?" Brief asked.
"That's...not a bad idea." Jazz said.
"Yeah, we know just about everything in the town. Thanks, Brief." Danny said, smiling.
"S-Sure! Happy to help." Brief said, still not used to the praise he was getting.
"So, where too?" Danielle asked, ready to make this the best moment of her life.
Danny and Jazz looked at each other, already deciding on the first place to go.
Meanwhile,
Vlad watches from his camera as the Fenton siblings, as well as the Anarchy sisters, show Danielle around. He was fully aware that Daniel already told others about Danielle. He knew getting her away would not be easy. After all, he was watching Daniel ever since he was kicked out. He was fully aware of Panty and Stocking and what they can do. He also knew about Scanty, Kneesocks, and Steve. Having real demons work with him sounded like a fun idea, but even Vlad knew the risks of working with them.
"So, she's not supposed to be alive after all this time." He said, having heard everything Brief said.
"Is everything alright, Lambchomp?" Holo-Maddie asked.
Vlad stood up from his chair. He knew he can't use Valerie to get her. Using that Oaf was out of the question. And trying one of his normal pawns was just a big giveaway to himself. For once, Vlad was stuck.
"Guess I have no choice." He said, sighing.
"Maddie, watch the mansion while I'm gone." He said, surprising her.
"Of course, Honeybub. But where are you going?" She asked.
"To pick up my daughter," Vlad said, turning into his ghost form.
Vlad flew off, already having a plan in case he has to fight them.
Back with the group,
Everyone was trying not to let the fact that Danielle might not have a lot of time left before she melts down get to them. Brief also mentions that he had no idea when she'll break down, so they should prepare for it when it does happen.
Hoping to give Danielle a fun time, they headed toward the festival that was going on in the city. Stocking walked next to Danny as he placed hand on his Danielle's shoulder.
"What a lovely family." An old woman said, seeing them.
"Very cute daughter you two have." She said, smiling.
Danny and Stocking blushed as Panty laughs.
"Shut it!" Stocking growls.
"I don't know. You do look like a family." Jazz said, smiling.
"Jazz..." Danny groans.
"Actually..." Danielle said, making everyone look at her.
"Is it alright if we do that? One of my greatest wishes is to have a family. I..." She said, trailing off.
"Dani, you were always family to me," Danny said but the girl shook her head.
"No, I mean like a real family! I know we call each other cousins, but that was just the story that both me and Vlad made up to earn your trust." Danielle said.
"Maybe, but..." Danny started.
"I think I get what she's saying." Jazz said, stopping him.
"Huh?" Danny asked, confused.
"She wants a family. A real family. She doesn't want to live the story that was made up for her. She wants to be part of our family. She wants to be a Fenton." Jazz said.
Danny thought about it and saw her point.
"Alright. But trust me when I say this, Danielle has always been a Fenton. And no one will tell me otherwise." Danny said.
Danielle smiles before hugging Danny. Danny smiles and hugs her back.
"So can we adopt her?" Stocking asked.
"Aren't we a little young to be parents?" Danny asked her.
"Think of it as practice for our real child one day." Stocking said, making Danny blush.
"Um, Stocking? You're sounding like your sister." He said, surprising her.
"Gah, Panty!" Stocking growls.
"Hey, I had nothing to do with that. Plus, it will be fun preparing to be an aunt in the future. Right, Jazz?" She said before playfully ribbing Jazz.
"Not funny, Panty." Jazz groans.
However, she couldn't lie in saying she hopes that Danny and Stocking tie the knot soon.
"Tell you all what, let's just go through the day and see what happens," Danny said, making everyone nod.
"Sure thing, Dad," Danielle said, giggling.
"Oh? Is that so? Come here, you little..." Danny playfully growled and tried to grab her.
"Save me, Mommy," Danielle said, hiding behind Stocking, giggling.
Stocking blushed at the word before giggling.
"Now, now, dear. She's just playing around." Stocking said, making Danny pout.
"Fine, Honey. But I'm not going to give her any tickets because of that." Danny playfully said.
"Aunt Jazz! Aunt Panty!" Danielle fake whines.
Through caught off guard by the words, both Jazz and Panty playfully glared at Danny.
"Danny..." They said, making him sigh.
"Fine, fine!" Danny laughs.
With that, the family headed off, ready for the best day of their lives.
Later,
Danielle was having the best time of her life, alright. She went on a few rides with Danny and others and even saw how much of a sister Panty and Stocking can be to each other. They even fought about who was a better shot at the ring toss game, only for Jazz to crush them both. Danny even decided to surprise Stocking with a big version of her cat plush he won from a shooting game, making her sequel in happiness. Jazz brought her a hot dog as the two sat together and ate. Jazz had to get Panty to eat hers the right way, reminding her that Dani was still young and she needed to be a good aunt.
Danielle was really happy. All she wanted was a family to call her own. Something that made her very happy. Danny notices and walked over to her.
"How are you holding up?" He asked.
"So far, I haven't melted anywhere," Danielle said before she caught on to the question.
"Sorry, I mean, I'm having a great time. You and Stocking really get along. From the way she's been treating me, I think she'll make a good mother one day." She said.
"We got a few more years under the belt before that happens. Not to mention, both she and Panty want to go back to their home one day." Danny said, sighing.
"Something tells me that she doesn't want to," Danielle said, seeing how she acted around him.
"I care about her happiness. If she wants to go home, I won't stop her." Danny said.
"Heh, and they say you're clueless about girls." Dani smirks.
"Me? Clueless? I think you have me confused with someone else." Danny said, playing rubbing his knuckles on her head.
"D-Danny! S-Stop!" Danielle giggles.
Danny laughs as he lets go. He was about to get up when a voice spoke up.
"How sweet. Make me want to throw up."
Danny and Dani both turned and saw Vlad Plasmius looking down at them, smirking.
"Plasmius!" Danny shouted, pushing Dani behind him.
Having heard Danny, Panty and Stocking pull out their weapons, fully knowing why he was here. Even Jazz stood in front of Danielle, glaring at the half-ghost.
"Don't try to lie yourself out of this, Vlad," Danny said, stopping his old enemy from speaking.
"We know why you're here and you can forget it!" Jazz said.
"Well, that takes care of one problem," Vlad said before turning to Panty and Stocking.
"Panty and Stocking Anarchy, yes? I don't have to introduce myself since Daniel already told you everything about me." Vlad said.
"Yeah, like how you're the world's biggest creep that will never have the woman you want because she married the man of her life?" Panty said.
"As well as Fruitloop that can't understand he lost his chance before he began?" Stocking added.
Vlad frowns before turning to Danny.
"I see you still refuse to accept it." He said.
"I refuse? This is coming from a guy who made a holographic version of Mom and even named his cat after her!" Danny said.
"Okay, that's just gross." Jazz said, shaking her head.
"She once left him for a holographic version of Jack," Danielle said.
"HAHA! He can't get a holographic version of Mom to like him?! That's made me feel better." Jazz said, laughing.
"YOU ALSO RUIN MY HARD EARN WORK!" Vlad shouted.
"By spying on me to make a perfect clone? I'm more than glad to get rid of your plans." Danny said, glaring at him.
"Clone or not, no one will replace my boyfriend!" Stocking added, tossing Strips 2 to Danny.
"I would say you're outnumbered, but I know you have a backup plan, Vlad," Danny said.
"Smart boy. I see your grades have jumped since coming here." Vlad smirks.
Panty handed her second Back Lace to Jazz before they notices that notices of the people weren't reacting.
"Hey, what gives? Normally, everyone would run away when a ghost shows up." Panty asked.
"About that, I heard of Danielle's wish. So, I threw this little festival together." Vlad smirks.
"What? But how did you?" Danny asked, wondering how he didn't sense the ghosts here.
"Easy, I figure out how to block out your powers without noticing," Vlad said.
"Block my powers? How..." Danny started before remembering something.
He once broke away from the group to grab a drink from a man that kept his face covered with his hat.
"YOU!" Danny shouted, growling.
"Your grades might have jumped, but you still can't see the chess move I make until it's too late. In fact, the rest of you should feel the effects very soon." Vlad said, checking his watch.
Suddenly, Panty and Jazz started to have a hard time holding their guns up, feeling weak and tired. Even Stocking and Danny felt like Strips 1 and 2 were a lot heavier. Even Danielle felt dizzy.
"What...did...you...do?" Danny asked, trying not to fall over.
"Sleeping pills, with a small dose of blood blossoms. Not enough to hurt you and Danielle, but enough to weaken you to the point that your powers are unless." Vlad said, seeing Jazz, Panty, and Danielle pass out.
"I'm a bit surprised that it works on the two angels, but it all works out." He said, smirking.
"You...won't...get...away...with...this...Vlad." Danny said before passing out.
"You...ass...hole." Stocking said before she passed out too.
"Through, their foul months still bother me," Vlad said before picking up Danielle.
"Time to find the one thing that the boy failed to do. Welcome back, Danielle. Daddy is taking you home." Vlad said, laughing before flying away.
And stopping here. So, Danielle is a lot more unstable than she looks. And Brief doesn't know how long she has. So, the group decides to make her time a memorable one. And they truly acted like a family. I'm more into the Brother-Sister relationship with Danny and Danielle, but I can see what some people think of them as Father-Daughter. Sadly, the whole thing was set up by Vlad to get Danielle, so he could try to make his perfect clone again. As you guess, when they wake up, they are going after Vlad and give him a beating of his life and afterlife.
