Danny woke the next morning and felt Stocking snuggling close to him. He peeks under the blanket and saw they were still dressed. He guess Stocking wasn't ready yet, though he promises to let her have it when she wanted. It was a bit sad to see Danielle leave, but he didn't want her to fall prey under the Seven Deadly Sins. He kisses Stocking forehead, causing the goth angel to wake up.
"Morning." She said, yawning.
"I thought you hate mornings?" Danny smirks.
"Not while I'm with you." She smirks.
Danny shook his head. Back when Stocking lived with Gaterbelt, she was never a morning person. Even after hearing the bell of the church, she would just lay back down, annoyed. He surprised her one morning and got a bit of a cold stare that scared him for a while. However, she quickly stopped doing that as he visited more.
"Danny?" She asked, snapping him from his thoughts.
"I'm fine. Just thinking about those mornings." Danny said.
Stocking looked away. While she was in love with Danny at the time, he didn't know much about her. Yes, she kind of scared him with her cold demeanor during the first few days, but once he warm up to it, and when they started dating, she felt happy to see him visit her in the mornings. Each morning she would wake up with a smile on her face knowing Danny would be there.
"Stocking?" Danny asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Sorry. Thinking about those mornings too." She said, blushing.
Danny smiles and kisses her again.
"Let's get breakfast." He said, getting up.
"Oh! And Stocking? You know what today is right?" He asked, looking back at her.
Stocking blinks before her eyes widen.
"NO! NONONONONONO! I'm not doing that! You can't make me!" She said, shaking her head before crossing her arms.
"Stocking, we agreed on it," Danny told her.
Stocking growls. She had to make that bet with Danny.
"I hate and love you at the same time." She said, groaning.
"Good. Remember, do it through the day and I'll get you a cake to congrats you for doing it." He said.
Stocking sighs. Might as well. Even if she didn't like it.
Later,
Stocking jogs through the city while munching on a carrot with Danny running next to her.
"I only did this because a ghost thought it would be funny to make me fat." She groans.
"And I would like you to stay this way. I know you claim that the sugar goes to your breasts but sugar is much different here than heaven. And you agreed to stay in shape after that." Danny told her.
Stocking sighs, kind of glad that it was Danny that was training with her. From what she heard, his old gym teacher would push her students so much, they would be out of breath for those that are not fit in a few short minutes. Being an angel, Stocking could handle that kind of training. If she wasn't bored out of her mind when it happened.
"Come on, Stocking. Just three more laps around the city." Danny smirks.
"You're using your powers! So you're not playing fair!" Stocking yelled at him.
"Lifes not fair, Stocking. But alright." Danny said, jogging normally.
Stocking shook her head before she surprise him with a kiss. Danny blinks and almost fell. He had to catch himself before looking at her.
"I'm going to get you for that." He said, grinning.
"Try it! No powers!" She said, running ahead.
Danny smirks and chased after his girlfriend. They two ran through the city, jumping over trash cans, breaches, and even zigging-zagging through some street lights. Danny finally caught up to her before he jumped and tackle his girlfriend to the ground. Luckily, they were both unhurt. Danny then started tickling her.
"Look out, the Tickle Ghost is back." She said, causing Stocking to squeal in laughter.
"Danny...HAHAHA! Stop it...HAHAHA!"
He finally let up but leads down to his girlfriend. Stocking wrapped her arms around him and they once more kissed.
"AH, young love."
They were both snapped out of it when they remember that they were out in the open. Danny quickly got off Stocking before helping her up.
"Sorry about that." He said before turning to see a couple laying on the ground.
"No worries young man, I can tell how much you two love each other." The Man said.
"Um, are you okay?" Stocking asked.
"We're fine. We just want to lay down and enjoy the sun is all." The Woman said.
"Nothing wrong with that. It is a nice day." Danny said, smiling.
"That it is. Why don't you lay down and enjoy it?" The Man asked.
"Sorry, but I need to make sure my girlfriend stays in shape. And I'm not calling her fat when I say that." Danny said.
"Oh?" The woman asked.
"Part of a deal we have. Once a week, Stocking would spend the whole day eating healthy foods and exercising to burn any unwanted sugar she still has left. If she can do that, I'll get her some cake at the end of the day." Danny said.
"Sounds fair. We might try it one day." The Man said, still laying down.
"Are you sure you're going to be alright? You do know that too much sunlight is bad for your skin." Stocking asked, a bit worried.
"We'll be fine, dear. But you should really take a load off." The woman said.
"Later, but okay." Stocking said, looking at Danny.
They both went back to their jog, seeing many more people laying around, doing nothing. It wasn't long before they came across their sisters with Panty helping Jazz to her feet.
"Panty? What's going on?" Danny asked, seeing her holding up Jazz.
"We were on our way to the store to buy some food, when all of sudden, Jazz fell," Panty said, causing Danny to walk up.
"Jazz? Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. It was weird. One minute, I'm ready to get some shopping done and the next, I suddenly just want to lay down and do nothing." Jazz said, trying to move her body.
"This is strange. We're taking a jog and we've seen just about everyone in the city is just laying around doing nothing." Danny said, helping Jazz to a chair.
"Well, I still feel that I have tons of energy," Panty said.
"As do I." Stocking said.
"I'm in the same boat." Danny agreed.
"Do you think this is a work of a new ghost?" Stocking asked.
"Don't know. We better check in with Gaterbelt." Danny said, making the sisters nod.
Daten City Chruch,
Danny lays his sister down on Stocking's old bed as Gaterbelt checks on her.
"Hmm, tired. Doesn't want to move. Feeling too lazy to even try...this is work of one of the sins alright." He said, surprising the three.
"Sloth?" Panty asked, placing it together.
"Indeed, it's the only one that would make those feel no energy to anything," Gaterbelt said.
"Well, at least we're not human," Panty said, smirking.
"That's because you two already are lazy," Gaterbelt said.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Panty and Stocking shouted.
"What about me? I don't feel any sloth." Danny asked.
"I think it might have something to do with your Ghost Powers. Since Sloth is known to be laziest of the seven, I don't think he'll be too hard to beat." Gaterbelt said.
"As true as that sounds, don't take any of the sins lightly."
Everyone turns and saw the Deamon Sisters and Steve standing at the door.
"What are you three doing here?" Panty asked, ready to fight.
"Relax, bitch, we're not here to stop you," Scanty said.
"Our boss freed us from Corset's control. We're free demons now." Kneesocks said.
"Free demons?" Danny asked.
"Yeah. Their boss even wanted me to continue my job of being their bodyguard. Never thought I get the devil's blessing to watch over them. Sorry about that girls." Steve said.
"Call it as you will, Steve," Scanty said, shrugging.
"So what are you three doing here?" Danny asked.
"We're here to help you defeat the sins," Kneesocks said before walking closer to Danny.
"And maybe something more," She added, smirking.
Stocking growls, but Danny steps back and wraps an arm around Stocking.
"I'm happy with my girlfriend, thank you." He said, causing Steve to growl.
'Get it together, Steve. You can deal with him after the Sins are out of the picture.' He told himself.
"Well, the first order in business is finding the Sin of Sloth. Anyone knows where he or she might be?" Danny asked.
"It has to be someplace where Sloth could feel right at home." Stocking said.
"What about the Daten City Mattress Factory?" Steve asked, making everyone look at him.
"What? Even Sloth needs to be confrontable somewhere." He defended.
"That's...not a bad idea." Stocking said, thinking.
"And yet, something I'm well too familiar with," Danny added.
"One of your ghost enemies?" Panty asked.
"Yeah, though I feel that Sloth won't feed on dreams of the people that are sleeping," Danny said.
"Guess that's where we're heading," Scanty said.
"Let's get the cars. Gaterbelt, watch over my sister, please." Danny asked before everyone ran off.
The said priest sighs. He knew that six will work together, but even he knew it won't last after the sins are defeated. He sighs again before going to check on Jazz. He already overcome all his sins long ago, which is why Sloth's power did not affect him.
And break time is over. Here's another chapter for this story and it seems Sloth has made its move. Though, Danny and Stocking did have a little something they do once a week and Stocking doesn't like it one bit. She puts up with it for Danny, through. Panty and Stocking, along with Scanty and Kneesocks, are ineffective to the Sin's power, except the ones they show the most, due to their natures. And because Danny and Steve are half ghosts, they are not as easily affected as the other people. Again, except to the ones they show the most.
So the group is heading out to find the Sin of Sloth and stop him/her. Remember, I'm using the forms that sins take up in Darksiders 3. Make sure you look it up to get the idea. Until then, I'll see you all in the next chapter.
