...

It was late in America as an infamous Demon of hell took a fast-paced stroll through a small town in the states.

The Bentley was back at the hotel he was staying in, and Crowley felt a little cooped up in his suite, curtesy of Hell, after being set off for a simple assignment, checking on the remains of a simple house in Kansas.

After making his report, his side ordered him to stay in the states in order to make sure no changes were made.

Crowley being Crowley, followed orders to a 'T', but not in the way Hell probably wanted him to. He left Kansas and went on a road trip with his precious Bentley and took a well-deserved, in his books, vacation.

The only thing that would make his 'vacation' so much better, would be Aziraphale riding with him as they took a long trip on the road, although his critiques on his driving would probably get a little annoying when he gets off the highway, Crowley would not get enough of how adorable Aziraphale was whenever he when sightseeing.

That night was going to be Crowley's last in the states, and he was starting to get bored without his Angel there to tease.

The first thing he was going to do when he went back, he was going to take Aziraphale out for a spot of lunch at the Ritz. Maybe spend some time at their bench as well. Chat while they feed the ducks.

Crowley always liked feeding the ducks while he and Aziraphale talked.

Because the next day was the day he would get back to his Angel, he was too restless to stay inside his hotel room, much less sleep. And Crowley loved to sleep.

The Demon had hoped that a good walk and some fresh air would do him good. Get rid of all of his restless energy so he could finally get some sleep before hopping over the pond.

The faster he went to sleep; the faster morning would come and he could leave the States and head back to England.

Yes, a peaceful late-night walk was exactly what Crowley needed.

But it wasn't what he was going to get.

A child's scream echoed from an empty looking motel that the upper-class Demon was just walking by.

It wasn't what he expected to happen that night at all.

Now, one thing Crowley would never admit in his life, in eternity even, is his soft spot for children. He has always been good with them.

Especially after he witnessed the Great Flood killed many off, it horrified him that was something that Aziraphale's side would do, a side claiming to be good. He meant what he said when he was talking with Azirphale that day, it sounded an awful like something his side would do.

The more reason for Crowley to have his own side with the Angel, the sides are too much the same than either would like to admit. It's one of the many reasons' Crowley prefers the company of humanity rather than any other Angel or Demon, no matter their rank.

When Crowley sees a child to be hurt by another, an adult or, Go- Sa- Someone so help him, a Supernatural creature of some sort. Pray, doesn't matter what side, for that poor sod's soul. Because Crowley will teach them a new meaning of pain.

Very few know of this, but with the right motivation, Crowley's skill's best even Alistair himself.

So, the first thing Crowley did was take deep sniffs of the air, his forked tongue slipping through his long canine's as it tasted the air for any scents. He smelt one of a young mortal, the child, and...

A Vampire.

A snarl appeared on Crowley's lips, revealing a sharp tooth as he stalked forward to where the unmistakable smell of Vampire resided. More screams and shouts can be heard from inside the motel room through the door.

Crowley can hear two kids from inside the room. An enraged hissed escaped his lips as he tried opening the door, only to find it locked.

"Oh. Bloody. Come. On!", Crowley growled with a snarl.

Now, Crowley could just easily snap his fingers unlocked the door and stop the bloodsucker from draining two kids dry.

To be frank, he forgot.

And even if he did, he still would have done what he did in the next few moments. If not to startle the creature enough that would give Crowley the advantage, but mostly just because he wants to scare the living crap out of the vampire.

He's fun like that.

Crowley kicked down the door with ease. Literally, the door fell from its hinges and crashed loudly on the floor, with Crowley close behind, stomping on top of the poor door and into the motel room.

Also, a sadistic part of him just really wanted to see the surprise on the bloodsucker's face, and took pride as the vampire's face lost all color as he stared at Crowley with fear.

The Demon's enhanced vision, thanks to his snake eyes, was quick to help him see the situation at hand.

Broken window.

Scared small child huddling in the far corner.

And another one, older than the first, pinned to the ground with the bloodsucker hovering over him.

A machete several feet away from the duo, laying just in front of Crowley's feet.

No bite marks thankfully.

It was easy for Crowley to infer what was going on. Granted it was obvious the moment he heard the scream.

He is just extra pissed seeing it confirmed.

A vamp out for revenge. The two boy's father was most likely a hunter, really needs some tips on how to raise his kids apparently.

Crowley comprehended all this information in less than a moment, and it did nothing to stoke his temper. Only inflamed it.

"Ssso.", Crowley hissed, "You think it'ss a great idea! To kill off two kidsss, just to throw a temper tantrum."

"Wh-"

Crowley didn't let him finish.

"Think it'ss all fine and dandy to messsss with someone sssmaller than you!?", Crowley grabbed the vamp by the back of his top, dragging him to the door, "Let'ss sssee you pick on sssomeone your own sssizze!"

Just as he exited the motel room, not even acknowledging the struggling vampire in his grasp, he turned to face the two-shell shocked boys staring at him in a mix of awe, fear, and confusion.

Surprisingly the thing, it couldn't be human, it was just hissing at the vampire just seconds ago, spoke to them without even a single hiss.

"Cover your ears and whatever you do, don't come out.", Crowley instructed strictly, "I'll be back after dealing with this bloodsssucker."

Okay, one hiss came out when referring to the instigator.

But the two boys listened without questioned, not even when the thing turned around and snapped his fingers, the door lifted itself up and reattached itself to the wall, fixing itself good as new. As if something with extreme force did not just rip it from its hinge's minutes prior.

When John Winchester pulled up to the motel in the Impala, the first thing he saw was a headless corpse, which was the simplest way for to describe what happened to the poor guy.

Only a couple thoughts were flying through his head as he ran out of the car, shotgun in hand, and threw the door open, it was surprisingly unlocked, as he flew into the motel room, shot at the ready for whatever creature he was fighting.

There's another creature in town.

It already had its first victim.

His boys are in trouble.

John's eyes swept over the room for danger, finger twitching for the trigger.

"I don't really think that's necessary.", said a voice with a British accent.

John whirled to see a man with flaming red hair, high cheekbones, tall, slim, pasty skin, wearing black jeans, black combat boots, a black shirt, with a really loose gray tie, black suit jacket, and on his face, despite the time and darkness of night, not to mention he's inside, is sunglasses. Preventing John from being able to see the man's eyes.

If he even was a man.

He sat at the dinner table, feet perched on top, chair slightly tilted back and a book in hand. The man regarded John with raised questioning brows. As if he were his wife, silently demanding why he came home so late at night.

This thing thinks it has the right to judge him and his life?

Without even thinking, John went to pull the trigger only to notice he was holding a bag of chocolates instead.

"What-?"

"Anthony J. Crowley, hi there. Your youngest is in the bedroom fast asleep, didn't want to wake him with gunfire.", the man told him, closing the book and tossing it on to the table besides his feet.

Uncaring about John's flabbergasted expression or the fact that he just tried to shoot him.

"Now the other one...", Crowley shook his head, feet swing from the table as he leaned forward, as if he was to tell a secret with a small smirk, that could be mistaken for a smile, appeared on his lips, "He's a good kid, that one. Wouldn't let me get close to his brother. Speaking of..."

He turned to the room and spoke loud enough to gain the occupant's attention if awake, but wouldn't bother them if asleep.

"Oi, kid, your father's here."

The door opened to reveal the kid, doesn't look to be more than eight, despite his maturity making him seem to be at least eleven, maybe even twelve.

His face lite up at the sight of the rugged man, whose expression was filled with relief.

"Dad!", the kid exclaimed happily, but quiet enough so as to not wake his brother, as he ran towards his father.

The mysterious man, thing, watched with an unreadable expression.

"Dean, get behind me.", John ordered, instead of embracing his son.

Crowley frowned. Isn't that what humans usually do? Throughout his years of existence, when a person, no matter who, usually worried or missed their family or loved ones, come together in an embrace of some sort.

But not this one.

Crowley felt something tug at his heart when a quick flash of hurt washed over the kid's face before being wiped away as if it was never even there.

He didn't even check the kid over for any visible injuries, although he probably would've exploded on Crowley if he did. The kid had a split lip and bruising around his neck from the bloodsucker's attack before Crowley interfered.

The other boy was fine though, having been protected by his older brother.

But the kid wouldn't let Crowley close enough to heal him.

"Dad it's fine, he helped.", the kid protested.

"What...? But the man outside-."

"That wasn't a man, 'though I can see the confusion after I was done with it.", Crowley interrupted.

John just stared at Crowley while the kid looked at the door curiously.

"... Can I see?", he asked softly.

"Creations, no! Why on bloody Earth would I let you do that!?", Crowley raised his voice but he didn't shout, he didn't want to scare the kid.

And as you can see, he's changed up some of his own cursing ever since the Armageddon-that-didn't-happen in 1990 and he and Azirphale both cut ties with their sides.

Mostly at least, they're both just left alone.

Crowley shook his head, "It's not a pretty sight. I made that bloodsucker wish for death until I finally gave it to him. It's not something someone your age should see."

John may not be able to see the ma- no. Thing, because there is no weapon on this man's person, yet he has somehow, not just killed, but tortured a vamp with his bare hands, and he has somehow turned John's shotgun into a bag of chocolates.

This thing is not human.

He may not be able to see the things eyes. But he knows they are staring at him, piercing into his soul. And they are not impressed.

"In fact, there should have been no reason, that it was able to get to you two boys in the first place.", Crowley said coldly, hinting at how he thought of John's parenting skills without the kid knowing.

John couldn't help but feel defensive at the criticism.

He was a good father, doing the best he can with what they have and with their shitty life. He cared for his sons and looked after them, made sure they knew how to protect themselves. Hunted evil sonsuvbitches so his sons wouldn't have to go through what he did. Teaching his sons to do the same so they can carry on the family business.

With how everything is for him and his family, he is a good father for his boys, and no evil creature can tell him otherwise.

Crowley seemed to have sensed John's hostility, because he got up and headed to the door, ruffling the kid's hair on his way out.

"Whelp, now that your father is here kid, I'll be off then.", Crowley stated before gesturing to the bags of chocolate, "Those are for the boys by the way."

That was as much as a goodbye as it was ever going to be from Crowley, who began his walk back to his hotel.

Remembered to dispose of the body before he left.

(He just snapped his fingers and the body disappeared deep into the woods where no one ventures, corpse on fire in order to turn into ashes and blend with the earth.)

John did not take this new event lightly, and became more paranoid than ever.

Dean, on the other hand, couldn't help but wonder what on Earth the creature that saved him and Sammy was. It saved them, and made no move to harm nor take advantage of them.

It, he, just helped.

He saved their lives. He saved Sammy's life.

And Dean would never forget that.
