Well, I promised acknowledgements after the quote-on-quote Epilogue, didn't I? Something I still intend to do… a few mouths from now after the story wraps up.

First off, A very happy Independence Day to the American readers. I hope your holiday has been going well, full of fun, food, family and fireworks. All of which you've been able to enjoy without any unnecessary confusion from my end.

I've been watching all day with great interest the general state of uncertainty that's arisen from my little faux-finale. Some of you are still assuming the Endless has actually ended and are thinking ahead to the next season, others have come forward to alert me that the second update is broken or corrupted.

It's not.

Everything about it, the chapters, the confusion has all been intentional on my part, and it's been great fun watching it unfold. I hope any one that wrote a retrospective thinking this is the end isn't too mad.

Now it's time to be blunt, because it's key going forward that we're all on the same page.

You see my story isn't over… or no, actually. That's still not the whole truth.

One of my stories isn't over. Because this whole time I've been telling two of them.

In one story, there is no lie. Everything up to the final word of the finale chapter posted earlier this week is true. Conner is really a god, Total Drama has expanded out into the multiverse, Markus and Rick are dead, Janna's still in the Rodney House, and Princess Peach is the winner of Endless. This is branch our sequel will follow.

Then there's this branch, the one we switched over to after the finale. Noted by a change from present tense to past tense. The one where everything is lie but the competition, and the winner of Endless is a girl named Paisley Parker.

The driving question now of course is how?

This will be all revealed soon enough. In truth I've already given you the answers if you've been paying attention, I encourage anyone curious to try figuring it out before the proper reveal in the next update. Paying attention is going to be very important for the final act. As will being patient, and above all else having trust in me as the author.

What's coming next is a great deal more experimental than most stories on the page, that's not something I'm boasting about. Every time I've broken a trend, doing away with my host, killing contestants, I've always anticipated that they're might a backlash, or it'll flop. Clearing those we're like cliff jumping, but what's to come next is like leaping into an abyss. And I hope greatly I've earned enough of your trust as an author that you'll take the plunge with me.

One last thing to warn you all about is that this last part of the story comes with a mild content warning. As we return to the real world, we approach topics that may hit closer to home. Some characters might believe or live their lives in accordance to ideologies and lifestyles that you might not necessarily agree with. This is not to say what's coming will be political charged author track, or a dark fic. I'm not trying to espouse any political beliefs nor am I trying to be grim for grim's sake.

If any of this is too much for you, I understand. This is after all this is not what you signed up for. Endless is going to have an additional six more chapter, not including the next chapter which will introduce the new status quo, as well as several smaller notes between chapters to flesh out the world. This should be all out by early autumn. If you want to skip all that and rejoin us at the start of the season two later this year by all means.

Once again, the second season is set in a branching timeline where everything was real. But that doesn't mean what's about to happen is going to happens in a vacuum. Far from it. Even in the fantasy timeline, the one known henceforth Connerverse, Peach still saw Paisley. A connect exists between the two in both worlds, and this final act will be key to that. However, in theory you could get by next season without that knowledge, though I strongly recommend otherwise.

(Cast list for Season 2 won't be out until the season premiers. Send me a private message if you'd like to know you're picks before that)

For those staying, thank you for believing in my abilities. What your about to read is me writing at my most honest. It'll be a story like the kind I plan on telling one day in published works. I've been planning this in secret all this time and pray to it justice now that it's finally coming to the page.

I hope you enjoy as we finally begin…

The End of Endless.
