Spells and Louds.
Chapter 967: Gumball and Nicole in Royal Woods.
(May 19. Royal Woods Middle School.)
The bell has rung and we see the students all head down the halls and towards their lockers, and a lot of the students are from other worlds, some seem to be Faunus and others who were once residents of Atlas and Mantle from the world of Remnant.
Among them is a new kid from another world, his name is Gumball "Zachary" Watterson. He doesn't seem the same as he was before and he waves to some of the students walking by, and then he opens his locker and puts his books away.
Gumball then sees the photo in his locker, the photo of himself, his mother Nicole, and the three family members who are no longer with them. His brother, Darwin, his little sister Anais, and his father Richard and seeing them look happy in the photo makes him smile, recalling the good times he had with them.
Gumball then closes his locker and then he sees Lincoln walk towards him and so he goes over and he greets him. "Hey there, Linc, not hanging out with your other friends today after school?"
The duo then walk together out of the school and then Lincoln tells him what he has planned for the rest of the day. "As fun it would be to hang out with my friends and all, I have my own plans and that's with my mom at the Park. What about you dude?"
Gumball smirks. "Same plan as well, my mom is gonna have her break from work and she said she wants to spend some time with me and ask how my day has been doing, and I know that she is asking to make sure that I am fine and not getting into some bad ordeals."
"Yeah, I get what you mean, Gumball." Lincoln then high fives Rusty Spokes who walks by. "My mom, well former sister and then mom, Luna... She would be super concerned after some bad vibes and ordeals we went through and she would always message me if I am ding alright."
Gumball nods. "Well, that is one thing we have in common, also thanks again to you and your friends who allowed me to eat with you guys at your table. I haven't made any decent friends lately, and chances I will be drawn back to the rookie times of Middle School, I mean the education here is far different than the one from my world."
Lincoln chuckles. "No kidding. Also, you're welcome. we know that since you are new here and trying to adapt to the things around the place, that you need some friends who can watch over you and back you up when you need it the most. So, we all got your back dude."
Gumball is touched to hear this, and then he sees Clyde and Chloe talking to each other and they seem prepared and nervous. "So, what the heck is going on with those two lately?"
Lincoln recalls what Clyde had told him before. "Right, well this famous chef who is also a dean to an academy in Paris France is here, and Clyde and Chloe wanna try and land a good impression and see how much she likes the food, and if she does like the food, then chances they can get the shot they need for an academy entrance and learn from the best. The plan for them is to go there when summer vacation hits, so it'll be three months with no Clyde in the area."
Gumball whistles. "Wow. That sure is something." Gumball then sees a text message on his phone and the message is from his mom. "Well, looks like my mom is waiting outside, thanks for being my friend Lincoln." He then leaves the school and heads to the car that belongs to his mom and they drive off.
Lincoln chuckles seeing this and then he sees his Netherdrake waiting and so he goes over and rides his flying mount and he takes off, and as he is flying, he has some thoughts. 'Hmmm, perhaps we should go and visit out counterparts from another world and see what they have plans for this summer vacation.'
(Ketcham Park.)
After a whole day at school, and work. This is where Gumball and Nicole are now, to spend some mother and son time and thankfully Nicole is on her break and she can spend two hours with her son, before she has to send her son back home and then head back to work.
Nicole and Gumball are also enjoying the ice cream and then Nicole speaks. "This is nice, huh my gummy puss. Just a mother and son time, and I know that when the time comes for me to get back to work, I will need to drop you off back home. Are you sure that you can handle being at home alone without me?"
Gumball nods and then he finishes his ice cream. "Mom, I can handle that part, and I think I can have some company by calling one of the friends we have, since they are there for me when I need someone to have company. Don't worry about it mom."
Nicole smiles and is amazed at how her son is being all grownup and changing, and then she asks. "So, how was school today Gumball?"
Gumball then tells her. "Well, I have to finish a book report later and then pass it next week on Friday, and we finished the quiz as the teacher told us the other day to prepare for, and I haven't made any god friends yet, but Lincoln and his friends are good and kind enough to offer me a place on their table and it feels nice to have them as friends."
"But sooner or later, they will graduate from middle school and then head off towards High School, and I will need to make my own friends, and I think I can do that one, despite the fact I will be pulled back and remain on the grade to which where I am now."
Nicole feels proud that her son is adapting and enjoying the life they have now here in this world and then Nicole has an idea. "You know, we could have an awesome mother and son bonding time if you want, and it depends if you have some free time, but if you have some plans then we can do that some other time."
Gumball thinks about it. "Sure, I could..." He then asks. "Wait, is the bonding moment something a little bit too competitive like the paintball fight like we had back then in our world?"
Nicole is now nervous. "No..." She sees the stern look from her son, and so she tells him. "Yes, but I don't wanna be competitive and fight you, I wanna be competitive and keep you safe and we can win. I know you can back me up, since the last time we did that, you impressed me and beat me and won the whole thing, and I am honored to have made you into someone else who can do things on your own."
Gumball goes through his head of what this is going to be, and then he smiles. "You know, that does sound like a bad idea. Let's do it, this Saturday and we can make everyone else run away in fear and terror at what we can do as a mother and son tag team of pure destruction."
Nicole is surprised to hear this, and yet she smiles and can tell that her son really does wanna bond with her, and what they are gonna do is gonna be fun for them and horrible for those who they are facing, and both of them can't wait for that one to happen.
Nicole then tells her son how she is doing her part and not being a total angry person at her job, and her job seems so calming and chill, though she feels like she could use a little bit of excitement and that means she is questioning her occupation and that she might be planning to seek out a different job than being at the Bank.
But as they are enjoying their time talking and thinking of what they can do, they don't know that on the hill far from them and underneath the shade of the tree are Lincoln, and his mother Luna, and Sam Sharp and they heard everything and then Lincoln asks. "So, are we gonna do some paintball with them or not?"
Sam is not certain about this. "No we should not, that doesn't sound so cool to me and from what the guardian told us... Nicole Watterson can be a truly competitive pers0on, and we might not know what will happen next. Despite the fact that we are all skilled as well."
"We can bond in our own way without bringing harm and ruin t others' re-lied Luna. "Let's just enjoy our time here, and think about what we can do on Saturday for next time, dudes."
Lincoln then sees that this is the moment to ask his mom, Luna and also Sam about what he plans to do for tomorrow. "Hey, I think we should go and visit some other worldly folks tomorrow."
Luna and Sam are surprised to hear this and then Sam asks. "Wait, which other worldly folks are we talking about here, buddy?"
Lincoln then speaks. "Our counter parts."
Luna then asks. "Okay, which counterpart are we talking about?"
Lincoln chuckles. "Loud and Secret."
Luna and Sam liked the sound of this. "Now that sounds like a good idea, Lincoln." Luna then asks. "But I know that you have something else planned when we get there, so... Why are we going to visit them kiddo?"
Lincoln smiles and then he tells them about why he wants to go and visit them, and it involves something with what could happen for when summer vacation hits.
