238,900 miles from planet Earth, Kane and his followers sat in their ship on the moon. "We will create the tiberium explosion which will bring the Scrin to Earth," Kane said. "It will be the first step in the ultimate human evolution." He laughed an evil laugh. "We have gotten rid of their champions and they are vulnerable."
"How will we set off the explosion?" Legion asked.
"We will use the warp drive in this ship while we escape in a shuttle. Then we will warn the inhabitants of Earth that if they do not surrender, I will allow the Scrin to destroy them all!"
"You believe the Scrin will do your bidding?"
"Of course. They will be ready to see me as their supreme leader for bringing them here at such a unique time. Prepare the warp core to be ejected."
They boarded the shuttle that they would escape in as they set the warp core to eject and cause the tiberium explosion. The shuttle departed the moon, and they watched the explosion radiate out from the moon with a bright, green color. "Now, we have only to wait!" Kane said.
On the Earth, a light began flashing in the GDI/Starfleet headquarters in the mountain. Admiral Winston stared at the reading. He had never seen a tiberium explosion, but he knew that's what they were looking at. "He's done it," he said.
"What is that?" Carol Marcus Kirk asked.
"It's the tiberium explosion that he wanted to create here on Earth. He's done it on the moon."
"What does that mean?"
"It means the Scrin will be coming, according to the files."
"And we don't know a thing about these creatures. We have no idea what happened to Jim and the others, where they have gone."
"All I know is they most likely have gone into the mycelial network."
Artemus Gordon stared at the screen. "How do we stop this?" he asked.
"I don't know. We can't stop the explosion. All we can do is to prepare for a battle like we've never seen."
"Worse than what we've already seen?" Carol asked.
"Much worse. The Scrin are numerous, and they are going to ravage the Earth and try to contaminate it with tiberium. We do have one secret weapon. We have to bring the ion cannon online."
"I can do that, Sir," Artemus said. "Tell me how to get into that system."
"I have the codes for it. We have to do this fast. Once they arrive, we won't have much time. They will go to the moon first, but then they will come here."
Just then, they received a transmission. "Incoming message, Sir," John McCoy said.
"On screen," Winston replied.
Kane's face appeared on the screen, looking quite smug. "I know you have seen my explosion," he said. "If you do not surrender, I will allow the Scrin to destroy all of you! Surrender to me, and you can become part of the evolution!"
"Surrender is not in our vocabulary!" Winston replied. "If you think you'll take over this Earth just by getting rid of Jim Kirk, you are mistaken! End transmission!"
Carol smiled slightly. She had never heard Admiral Winston get so riled. "So what do we do, Sir?" she asked. "Tell us what to do."
"We get that ion cannon online," Winston said. "It's housed in the Earth spacedock."
"That's what they were after the whole time."
"Exactly. Kane knew he could set off his explosion on Earth with that cannon."
"And it's been there all this time, disguised as the space dock?"
"Yes, and no. It's not disguised. The spacedock will become the control system for it."
"Are there anymore secrets we should know about?"
"I can't possibly tell you everything in that database," Winston said.
"We'll just get that cannon activated and go from there. We can't let him infect the Earth with tiberium."
Carol stood there wondering what had happened to Jim and the others. The last thing he had said to her was I love you. She wanted to know where he was, and she knew Kane would know, and if she could get hold of him, she would make him tell her.
Jim and the others got out away from the space station Caleb Four. Just as they got almost to their point of going to warp, the Enterprise arrived. "Hail them!" Jim said.
They soon got a reply. "Admiral," Sulu said as he stood up. "It's good to see you, Sir."
"We need to get aboard that ship and get out of here."
"Yes, Sir."
Jim docked the ship on the Enterprise, and he ran most of the way to the bridge. "How soon can we get out of here?" he asked.
"Soon," Sulu replied.
"Incoming transmission," Uhura said.
"On screen," Jim replied.
The evil Jim Kirk appeared on the screen. It was the first time some of them had seen him. "You won't leave this system!" he declared.
"What did you call for, to try and intimidate?" Jim asked. "If you did, you called the wrong people." He was hoping they could distract him until they got to warp.
"So, you're the one who calls himself Jim Kirk from another universe."
"I am Jim Kirk, and we won't be continuing this conversation. End transmission!"
The transmission ended. "They're pursuing us, Sir!" Sulu said.
"How soon to warp?" Jim asked.
"Just a few more seconds. They're coming up on us fast!"
Suddenly, the ship shuddered as it was hit by a blast from the ISS Enterprise. Everything on the Bridge began blinking and then went back to normal. "What just happened?" Jim asked.
"They have a powerful phaser," Sulu answered.
"Fire back!"
The Enterprise returned fire, and they hit their target part of the time, but the other Enterprise still pursued. Bones came onto the Bridge. "Jim, Cabal has something he wants to say," he said as he opened the case.
"I can help you," Cabal said. "I have learned much about their ship, and I also sabotaged their weapons. They will not be able to fire again for a few minutes. In that length of time, I can enhance the shields to deter their firing."
Scotty came onto the Bridge next. "Admiral, we caught Cabal," he declared.
"Where is he?" Jim asked.
Scotty held up a flash drive. "Right here."
Jim almost laughed. "Okay, that's a good place for him."
"You cannot contain me," the evil Cabal said sounding muffled and a tinny voice.
"Shut up, you little bugger or I'll take a hammer to ya," Scotty said.
"Make sure he's in a place that he can't cause any trouble, Scotty," Jim said. "We also need to get the good Cabal here into the ship systems so he can help us."
"You want another one of these in there?"
"This is not the same one. Trust me, Scotty."
"Yes, Sir."
Scotty took the case that Bones had and left the Bridge. "Mister Sulu, what is going on?" Jim asked.
"I don't know, Sir," Sulu answered. "That blast seems to be draining the power from the shields. I think it was enhanced with that tiberium in some way."
"It is!" Michael Burnham said as she came onto the Bridge. "It will eat away at the power on this ship."
"Cabal is going to try and fix that," Jim replied. "Can he?"
"If he's in time. We have to get out of here. They can destroy this ship. You can't beat them in a fight."
Jim hit the communication button. "Scotty!"
"Yes Sir," Scotty answered.
"Have you got Cabal in there yet?"
"I'm working on it, Sir."
"Hurry, please. That blast was enhanced with tiberium. He has to fix this."
Scotty hooked Cabal up to the Enterprise computer system. "I am in," Cabal announced.
Jim sat in the chair on the Bridge. The lights dimmed and the computer systems seemed to flutter, and then the lights were back to full. "Mister Sulu, is the power back up?" he asked.
"No Sir," Sulu answered. "It comes up some and then goes right back down. We're at sixty percent. We can't even go to warp like that."
"They're trying to keep us here. Red alert! All hands to your stations! Use the most powerful weapons we have on the ship! Get ready for a battle!"
Spock came over to Jim. "What is your plan, Admiral?" he asked.
"We're gonna be ready for them if they board this ship. That seems to be their plan." Jim stood up. "Take command of your ship. Get us out of here as soon as you can. I'm going to get ready for this battle. Make sure everyone has on their electro-suits, and helmets on!"
"Yes, Sir. Would you rather let Sulu captain the ship so I can help you? It would benefit us to have as many fighting as possible while they try to get us out of here. Mister Sulu is quite capable of commanding this ship."
"Fine, Spock. Let's get going."
Jim hurried off the Bridge with Spock right behind him after he gave command to Sulu. Michael was also with them. "We need to use the tacitus along with Cabal," she said. "It can help him learn how to fix the ship."
"How do we do that?" Jim asked.
"He can tell you. He is connected to the tacitus. That's why he could find it so easily."
Jim took out his communicator. "Mister Scott, ask Cabal how he can use the tacitus to fix the ship," he said. He stopped at a communication array on the wall. "Attention everyone, this is Admiral Kirk. I want everyone wearing their electro-suits. If they get aboard, that suit will be your only defense! No exceptions!"
Jim, Spock, and Michael continued down the corridor. They met up with Solan and the two Macs, along with several others. "What do you want us to do?" Solan asked.
"We're gonna fight. We have to spread out. We don't know where they're going to show up if they get aboard this ship, but we know they're coming."
Just then all the lights flashed again, and they could hear the power sounding weaker. "Intruders on Deck seven!" someone yelled over the intercom.
"They're using the transporters!" Jim said. "Let's go!"
They hurried down the corridor to the turbo lift and went down to deck 7. As the turbo lift doors opened, Jim and the others had their phaser rifles ready. They moved out into the corridor, but they did not see anything…yet. They could hear plenty going on further down the corridor. Jim pressed the comm button on the wall. "Kill the lights," he said. "We can blind them."
Scotty got over to the computer keyboard and turned off the lights. "Done," he said.
"You won't win that way, Kirk!" the evil Kirk yelled.
Bones was behind Jim as well. "We don't even know what to expect," he said. "And don't forget that…double of me. He has a built-in laser pointer!"
"I know that. Let's just try to focus on what we're doing. This is not going to be an easy fight, especially with them all together." Jim suddenly had a thought. "Which makes me think we need to get them apart from each other."
"How can we do that?"
"When we meet them, we separate if possible. It may not be possible but fighting them all together may be harder."
"You may be correct, Admiral," Spock said. "I do not believe the stun setting actually works on those enhanced with the tiberium. They had a plan to get aboard this ship."
"Yeah. Why wouldn't they want TWO Enterprises?" Solan asked. "Especially one that is more advanced than theirs."
Jim looked back down the corridor. "Let's move," he said. "And remember, we're gonna separate them so they can't work as a team."
They headed on down the corridor and soon came to a corner. Jim looked around the corner and could see his evil counterpart coming that way along with Spock, Solan, Bones, Uhura, Ajah, and Helek, and some others he had not seen. "They're coming," he said as he looked back at his team. "There are more than seven of them." He took out his communicator. "Ajah, where are you and Helek?" he asked. "We have your counterparts over here."
"We see them now, Sir," Ajah replied. "Do not worry."
Anakin walked up behind Jim and the team next. "Admiral, you have to let me meet them first," he said.
"Why?" Jim asked.
"Because he's coming."
"Who?"
"The evil me. You cannot defeat him."
Jim frowned. "So, he's a Sith lord?"
Anakin nodded. "I'll face him and occupy him while the rest of you work on the others."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Yes, Sir. Without him being occupied, you can't win. Don't worry. I'm more in tune with the Force than I ever have been."
"Alright. Good luck."
Anakin stepped up to the corner of the corridor. "Anakin Skywalker!" he yelled.
The ones coming down the corridor stopped, and one of them stepped out in front. He was the evil Anakin Skywalker, but he did not look exactly like him. He had been enhanced with red tiberium, and Anakin could feel the dark side pouring off him. He was dressed in a black outfit that looked a lot like what the others in his group wore, but he was also wearing a long black cape. "So, we finally meet!" he said.
"Yes, I've been aware of your presence."
"As I have yours. You think yourself worthy to be my opponent?"
"Do you think yourself worthy?"
"You will find I am far more advanced with the Force than you!"
"We'll see, won't we?"
Anakin drew his lightsaber which had a blue blade. His counterpart dropped his cape and drew his own which had a glowing white blade. "Anytime you're ready," he said.
Anakin took a deep breath and let the Force flow through him as he waited for his opponent to make the first move. He could feel the tension on the ship, but he could also feel the fear and the determination, but most of all, he could feel the Force. His counterpart looked at him with a glare, and Anakin could feel his frustration at his calmness in the Force as opposed to his anger.
His frustration got the best of him, and the battle was on. Anakin met his fierce attack with calmness. Once they were dueling down the corridor, Jim and the others confronted their evil counterparts, being careful to stay out of the laser pointer of the evil Doctor McCoy who was nothing short of a sniper.
Jim fired at his evil counterpart, but he was able to avoid the shot as he got around the other corner. Jim went after him, avoiding the others. "You're not taking over this ship!" Jim declared.
"You can't stop me!" Kirk replied. "You're so confident, why don't we fight hand to hand?"
"Why would I want to do that? I'm not stupid."
"Then catch me if you can!"
Kirk turned and ran the other way toward the Bridge. Jim went after him, and lost sight of him as they got further down the corridor. As Jim came to the next corner, Kirk was waiting for him. He jerked the weapon from Jim and grabbed him by the neck. Since Jim was wearing his electro-suit, this attack did not affect him like his counterpart wanted. Jim turned his wrist light on and shined it right into the eyes of Kirk. Kirk yelled out as though in pain. Jim took that opportunity to land a punch to his face which gave the other a bloody nose. Kirk seemed even angrier and tackled Jim, shoving him into the far wall. Jim could definitely tell that Kirk was stronger than him, but he shoved him backward with his foot. He thought he would have to make more use of his legs…
Bones was after McCoy. He had to be careful with this one because he was a sharpshooter. Bones was somewhat of a sharpshooter himself. He had to defeat one enhanced with green tiberium this time, however. "You call yourself a doctor?" Bones asked. "You don't deserve that title!"
"Why? Because I have taken on other talents?"
"You're an assassin!"
Bones saw the green laser pointer shining on the floor in front of him as he was hiding behind the corner. He was not sure how he could defeat this bad guy without being killed himself. He knew he could not have that phaser rifle on stun this time, however. He got the phaser ready and took a deep breath and then aimed around the corner. He aimed quickly and fired, but McCoy moved before he could hit him. Bones got back behind the wall as the green laser touched him. He wondered how he would ever get out of this.
Spock had pursued his own counterpart, who was also trying to get to the bridge. "You will not take over my ship," Spock said.
"Your ship?" Evil Spock asked.
"Yes, my ship. Why do you go along with this evil? You are a Vulcan! You shame the name of Vulcan."
"Kirk is not the captain of this ship?"
"No! He is my admiral! I am the captain. Answer me! Why do you go along with this evil?"
"I have no other choice."
"You do have another choice. You can join the resistance and take over your own ship!"
"Why would I want to do that when I am profiting?"
"Profit is irrelevant."
"You have no say in this matter! Give up now, or I will take over your ship. You cannot stop me!"
"Oh, but I can. You are overconfident."
"One can have confidence when they are a sure winner. You're just a coward!"
"Am I? I see that you are also hiding behind the wall."
Evil Spock stepped out and glared at Spock. "Can you shoot anyone in cold blood?" he asked.
Spock could see that he was out in the open. "You can surrender now," he said.
"I will not. You will have to kill me. Will your moral compass allow you to do that?"
"If you continue to threaten my ship, I will kill you without hesitation."
Evil Spock stopped at that. "Would you, now?" he asked.
"If you are intending to intimidate me, you will find that you will fail."
Solan and his evil counterpart were facing each other head-on. Neither of them had any intention of hiding from the other. They had already had a hand-to-hand fight, giving each other some pain. Solan was not one to give in just because his opponent was stronger or bigger. His counterpart was stronger. He knew that, but he was holding his own.
Anakin and his counterpart were having a fierce duel, but Anakin could tell the other was tiring and wanted to get this battle over with. However, he knew there was only one way for this battle to end because he knew they could not keep a Sith imprisoned. "Why don't you give up this evil plot?" Anakin asked. "You do not have to be evil. Why do you choose to be?"
"There is no other way to be in this universe. I left my own galaxy."
"You were a Sith there?"
The evil Anakin laughed. "Are you kidding? I was a Jedi! Sith are weak, and they do not use the full spectrum of the Force!"
Anakin frowned as he thought of that. He had to remember that The Jedi in this universe were opposite to his. "Where I come from, the Jedi are good," he said. "If you are called a Jedi, and you know the Force, you should want to know what you truly are!"
"I know what I truly am! It is you who does not use the full Force!"
Anakin knew he was stalling for time. "You are like all others who use the dark side of the Force. You stall for time when you are tiring, and you think you can cause distractions by talking your opponent to death!"
Evil Anakin practically growled at him and attacked again. Anakin fought with calmness to defend the ship, while the other fought for his evil intentions and attack. Anakin thought Qui-Gon would be proud of him. He could feel his opponent's desperation. "Give this up and turn away from this evil," Anakin said.
"Never!" the other exclaimed and attacked with even more fierceness.
Jim was still struggling with his counterpart. They had both given each other some pain, but Jim was glad he had his electro-suit on. Kirk had tried to rip it; he had tried to break the shield but he had failed at that. Jim finally managed to trip him. That seemed to make Kirk even angrier, and he tackled Jim again. They were in a power struggle, and Jim had the thought that he would never have dreamed that he would be fighting himself. Maybe he had been fighting himself all his life.
"You will never win!" Kirk yelled. He suddenly had a knife.
Jim grabbed his hand. He had to admit the evil Kirk was strong, but he would not give in. It was hard to maneuver on the floor, but he was trying his best to sit up and push Kirk back. He finally managed to turn on his wrist light and shined it right in those glowing blue eyes. Kirk pulled back then, and Jim twisted his arm that had the knife. He then got the knife away from him and got titanium cuffs on him. Kirk was furious and tried to kick Jim. "Let's see you get out of those," Jim said as he jumped back.
Kirk was not finished. He got up and began trying to use his legs against Jim. Jim caught his foot as he tried to kick him and remembered his knee injury he had before in that split second, and he twisted. Kirk yelled out with pain at that as he fell to the floor. He was still furious but he could not get back up. Jim aimed his phaser rifle at him. "You just settle down," he said.
"Go ahead and shoot me," Kirk said.
"Don't tempt me," Jim replied.
Solan had also managed to take down his counterpart by remembering injuries. He was in pain himself though. He sat in the corridor hoping someone would come and get this guy soon because he was not going to haul him anywhere. Just as he thought that, he heard something and he knew what it was. It was lightsabers clashing together and they sounded like they were getting closer to him. He certainly did not want to be in the middle of a lightsaber battle. He grimaced and grunted as he got up. He would just drag the unconscious bad guy to the medical bay, and he hoped someone there would know what to do to keep him under control.
Anakin and the evil Anakin had had a fierce lightsaber battle, and it was not over yet, although Anakin could feel the other weakening and wanting an exit just like any other dark side user. "This battle won't end quickly like you hope," Anakin said. "Why don't you give this up?"
"Why should I?" the other asked.
"Because it's useless to have murder lust. You can try to bring some good to the galaxy instead of trying to conquer and kill everyone who doesn't agree with you."
"Is that what you think you can do? Bring peace to the galaxy?"
"No, but I can sure keep myself from causing more harm. You're just stalling. Why don't you come on and we'll finish this. Since you don't want to surrender and change your ways, there's only one way for this to end."
"You're so sure of yourself. Isn't that overconfidence?"
"No, it's just plain fact."
That seemed to give the evil Anakin the exertion he needed. He charged at Anakin and their lightsabers met again. Anakin had noticed a pattern in his opponent. He always pretended that he would go left when he intended to go right. Anakin watched for that and listened to the Force. As soon as he did it again, Anakin flipped over him and was behind him, and the evil Anakin was only half the man he had been…
Bones was being chased by McCoy. He was trying to find a place to hide and wait for him, but there were no places on this ship to be up high to snipe someone. McCoy was pursuing him, and Bones could hear his footfalls behind him so he was not far enough ahead. He finally came to the medical bay, but he did not want to lead him in there. Then again, it might be a good place. He went into the medical bay and locked the doors. He hurried over to his station while he could hear the other trying to get through the doors. He would fix something to put that guy's lights out for good…well, maybe not for good, but for long enough to get him into a cell in the brig.
Bones looked at the doors as he heard a high-pitched almost sawing sound, and he realized McCoy was burning through the doors with something. He hurried to fix what he needed. "I need everyone in here to get back as far as you can," he said. "He's gonna get through those doors and when he does, I have to defeat him. Get moving!"
Bones finally got his dart ready and got down behind the counter and waited. He turned off all the lights except the night lights so that maybe McCoy would not see him in the dark. He took a deep breath to calm himself and got ready. McCoy finally got through the doors and stepped into the medical bay. He stopped as he searched for a target with his green eye. "Come on out, Doctor!" he said. "You're such a coward, I don't know how you made it this far."
"By being smarter than my enemies," Bones said just audibly.
By the time McCoy whirled that way, he was feeling the dart Bones had created. He jerked it out of his neck, but it was too late. He tried to go after Bones anyway, but he could not. He crashed to the floor in a heap. Bones got up and turned the lights back on. He held the phaser on McCoy as he went over there to make sure he was really out. "Nurse, get some cuffs on him," Bones said.
The nurse hurried over there and grabbed the cuffs and got them onto McCoy. Bones blew out a nervous breath then just as Solan came in the door dragging his counterpart behind him. Solan collapsed, and Bones ran over to him. "Solan!"
"I got him," Solan said.
Bones scanned him. "Not the easy way, that's for sure. We have to get you to a bed." He had never seen Solan looking so pale, except maybe that time he was shot.
After they got Solan onto a bed, Bones went to the intercom. "I need security to the medical bay!" he said.
Jim heard that as he was locking the cell in the brig where he had placed Kirk. He turned and ran out of the brig and met up with Korax. "Korax…"
"I heard it, Admiral," Korax said. "I will go with you."
"Where is everyone else?"
"They are defending the ship."
"Good."
They hurried to the medical bay, not knowing what to expect. As they got there and saw the damaged doors, they aimed their phaser rifles in. "Bones!" Jim yelled as he could see the evil Solan lying just inside the door.
"Come on in here, Jim," Bones called.
Jim and Korax went in with phasers ready. "You alright?" Jim asked.
"Yeah," Bones said, "but we need someone to get them out of here before they wake up."
"Alright, we'll get them."
Korax simply picked up the evil Solan over his shoulder and grabbed the evil Bones by the leg and dragged them out of the medical bay. Jim followed him, keeping his phaser ready in case they woke up. They did not, and they got them into the brig cells. "Well, that's three down," Jim said. "We need to see how the others are doing. How many more are there?"
"The one I fought will not need a cell," Korax said.
Jim scowled at that slightly. "Okay."
Just then, Grakar came around the corner. He and Jim had their phasers ready, but they realized who the other was. Grakar lowered his phaser. "It is good to see you well, Admiral," he said.
"I'm not sure well is the right word right now, but I'm still alive," Jim said. "We need to get to the bridge and make sure everything's alright up there."
"I have come from there. They have not been able to get onto the bridge."
"Good." Jim got his communicator. "Scotty."
"Yes Sir," Scotty answered.
"How is the ship?"
"We're working on it, Sir. Cabal is a big help. He is reversing what their weapons did to the shields and also the propulsion systems. We should be moving in less than a half hour."
"What about that other ship?"
"We haven't gotten any readings from it. The shields are powerful."
"Alright. Get us out of here as soon as possible. Have any of the enemies gotten into engineering?"
"No."
"Good. Kirk out."
Jim stood a moment thinking about what they should do next. He wanted to find Spock and the others and find out what had happened to them. "Let's go," he said.
They headed down the corridor toward the last place that Jim had seen Spock before they all separated their enemies. As they went, they met up with Anakin who was still wielding his lightsaber. However, he had known they were coming before they saw him. "You alright?" he asked.
"Yes," Jim replied. "Are you?"
"Yeah, and my evil opponent won't be bothering you anymore…and I have a new lightsaber." He held up the lightsaber of the evil Anakin. "I think it's enhanced with white tiberium. Not sure what that means but…"
"I'm not either but I'm sure it's something you should be careful with. You seen Spock?"
"No."
"Let's go."
They went on and turned a different way than the way Anakin had come. As they moved along, they could hear fighting. Jim could also see damages along some of the corridors. He thought they would have to check the ship for tiberium spores. He was sure there were some in there since the ship had been just about overrun with beings who were enhanced.
Jim soon came to a corridor and looked around the end to see Spock and his evil counterpart facing each other and talking. "Spock," he said. "What's going on?"
Spock looked that way but did not take all his attention off his opponent. "I am trying to convince him that it is not logical to live to conquer and kill," Spock said. "The empire cannot continue to stand in such a way."
"And?"
Spock looked back at the evil Spock and raised one eyebrow. "And?"
"I will not join you," he said.
"I never said join us. You can take command of your ship and change the direction of your empire."
"I cannot. I am only one."
"It only takes one to stand up for what is right, and others will realize. We can send you back to your ship, and we will leave this universe. It will be up to you."
"You would let me go knowing that I have a ship that could destroy you?"
"If you give your word, you will do the honorable thing as a Vulcan, and we will let you go."
Jim scowled at that. He was not sure he wanted to trust that guy even if he was a Vulcan. He was still working for evil, but Jim did not say anything. However, he would have a talk with Spock after this was over. He waited to see what would happen as he kept his phaser on the evil Spock. "Well, what's it gonna be?" he asked.
Evil Spock looked at Jim and then back at Spock. He raised his hand in the Vulcan salute. "I give you my word," he said. "You will have time to leave this area. What will you do with the rest of my crew? My captain?"
"We'll leave them on Titan!" Jim interrupted. "You can pick them up there after we're gone."
Evil Spock nodded. "Very well."
"Spock, Grakar, escort him to the transporter room," Jim said. "Let him contact his ship to transport him. If he even gives a hint of betrayal of his word…he won't need a cell either."
"I will see to it personally, Admiral," Spock replied.
Jim watched them walk down the corridor. He was not sure at all about that deal, but he trusted Spock. He continued on to the Bridge. "How's everything up here?" he asked as he entered.
"We've got some power restored," Sulu answered as he moved out of the captain's chair. "We're almost back up to full power."
"Good. We've gotten all the intruders for the most part. We need to get out of here as soon as possible. We're gonna drop off our intruders on Titan and get out of this universe."
"You're letting them go?" Sulu asked.
"Yeah. I'll explain that later, but we're gonna be long gone before their ship can get there."
"What do you think is going on in our universe?"
"I don't know, but I'm ready to get back there to find out."
The comm button chirped. "Kirk here," Jim answered.
"Admiral, we are ready to transport," Spock said.
"Wait a minute." Jim called engineering. "Scotty, are we ready?"
"Just another five minutes, Sir," Scotty said.
"Let me know."
Jim went back to Spock. "Five more minutes, Spock," he said.
"Yes, Admiral," Spock answered.
In five minutes, power was restored to the entire ship. "Now, Spock," Jim said.
Spock activated the transporter, and the evil Spock was transported back to his own ship. "He is gone, Admiral."
"Punch it!" Jim said.
Sulu moved the Enterprise around and went to warp. "We're on our way, Sir," he said.
"Good. Let me know if anything weird or violent happens. You have the Bridge."
Jim left the bridge and headed for the brig, but before he got there, Bones contacted him. "You need to come down here, Jim," he said.
Jim turned down the corridor where the medical bay was. "What's going on?" he asked.
"It's Solan."
Jim quickened his steps and hurried to the medical bay. As he walked in, Solan was lying on a bed. "What's going on?" he asked again.
"He was exposed to tiberium spores," Bones said.
"And? You were working on something to counteract that, right?"
"Yeah, but it takes time. Until we have him cured, we need him secured."
"So, secure him."
"Jim, part of the medical bay has lost power, and the force field chamber is one thing that isn't working."
"So treat him here and everyone keeps on their suits until the spores are out of the ship."
"Those spores don't only infect people; they can infect this ship. If I start treating him, they can escape and get into the systems of this ship."
Jim shook his head. "So, what do you need to do? Tell me."
"We can put him into a cell in the brig and we can keep the spores from escaping there."
"Then do it. Solan will understand."
"Right. We'll get him moved down there."
"I was just about to go down to the brig so I'll escort you down there."
They got Solan ready and headed for the brig. Solan lay on the stretcher watching the lights passing over his head. "I feel like I'm going into surgery," he said sounding muffled since he was wearing a mask. He also felt incredibly sleepy.
"Don't worry," Bones said. "It's nothing like that. We'll get you straightened out as soon as possible."
They soon arrived at the brig, and Jim walked over to the cells that contained their prisoners. Kirk stood up and glared at Jim. "You will never escape this universe!" he declared.
"Yes I will," Jim replied. "But you may not find your command so easy to hold onto."
"There have been several who thought they could take over my ship. They learned the hard way."
"Maybe, but you're about to learn a hard lesson too."
Jim went over to the cell that Solan was in now. "You comfortable?" he asked.
"Yeah," Solan answered sounding like he was dozing.
Jim smiled. "Take it easy."
Jim frowned as he left the brig. He would get them out of that universe and back to their own. He just hoped they could fix whatever was happening there…
