Warning: a bit of smut lies within this chapter
It had been two weeks since she had buried her husband, the father of her children, when the first letter arrived.
He may be gone, but we are not. The children are safe for now, but beware. We will return when our master does. Sleep with one eye open, moy sladkiy!
Frank reread the note. "I think it is time to take your cousin up on his offer." He said it with a pained look. He'd become attached. He knew it wasn't healthy to start feeling for her. He was with Saskia. She'd just buried her husband. This solution would hopefully help him rid himself of these feelings.
"Move into Grimmauld with him, Alice, Neville and the soon to be born mini-Sirius? You must be joking, Frankie! I will not be scared out of my own home!" Narcissa hissed as she whirled on him from when she'd been leaning against her fireplace mantle.
"Is there another place? I don't think you should be all alone in this big ass house. Not when those bastards are still out there somewhere." They were toe to toe now. Frank swallowed hard when he looked into her azure eyes.
"I'm not alone! I have the children, Dobby, Mipsy, and Chippy." She said with nonchalance.
"Three house elves, a seven year old and a toddler? Silly me! You're as safe as can be." He huffed a laughed and she couldn't help but laugh at her own childishness.
"You could always," she looked up through her lashes at him, "stay and keep us safe." Frank blushed then backed away rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh, Frankie. You're too cute when you blush." She giggled then sighed. "Sorry. Okay?"
He nodded. "I've gotta get back to Saskia. I'll, uh, talk to you soon. Let me know if you get anymore messages." He kissed her forehead then left through the Floo. She sat there in silent contemplation. Should they leave? Sell the manor? They had so many memories here. She'd gotten married in the gardens. Gave birth to her children here. They were protected by the Malfoy blood wards here.
"Mummy?" She was shaken from her thoughts by Carina's soft voice. "Mummy I had a bad dweem. The bad man was trying to get me and daddy. Daddy saved me but then the bad man hurted daddy. Why?" Narcissa put her arms out and her young daughter ran and jumped into her mother's embrace.
"I don't know, little dove, but that man will never hurt any of us again." She silently prayed that she could keep that promise; or die trying.
Severus sat contemplating on what to do. He looked in the drawer once more staring at the small box there. He heard Violet's giggles from the playroom then Lily's shortly after and nodded. He pocketed the box. With the murder of Lucius Malfoy, they had put off filing the paperwork for their marriage license. Severus had been busy helping Narcissa and the children adjust and preparing lesson plans for the upcoming school year, and Lily was so understanding.
But yesterday, he took a trip into Diagon and stopped at his family vault in Gringott's to grab his late mother's engagement ring. He would take them all to the park then dinner and propose. He still had until August 24th. He looked at the calendar and swore, "Shit!" One week away! He definitely had to do it tonight!
They got the kids ready to go and set out on foot to the park. When they arrived, Harry got excited when he saw Draco there. "D!" He yelled as he ran to shake his friend's hand. "I've missed you man." Draco gave his friend a small smile. He'd been stuck in the manor since his father's death and was finally getting away because Neville's dad had three Aurors watching over them.
Harry saw the dark circles on his best friend's face and frowned. Draco was watching his sister like a hawk so Harry kept close watch on her and his sister playing on the hippogriff see-saw. "It's good to see you Harry. Guess we've got something else in common now." Yes, they did. They both had fathers murdered by a dark wizard. Harry nudged Draco's foot with his own.
"We can start our own club, yeah?" He chuckled then. Draco's face softened as he released his own huff of laughter.
"The DDC? Dead Dad Club?" Draco offered.
"Nah, The DPC. Gives us more members. Can't discriminate against those with dead mums." It was macabre but they both had a dark sense of humour. "Any more dreams of your future wife?" Draco sneered and told him to bugger off so Harry chuckled again. "Luna's good by the way. Thanks for asking."
They talked the whole while. Carina and Violet played and the brothers watched over their sisters as their mothers and Severus watched them all.
"Frank has been a great help and comfort to us. He checks in with us every day. He's set up stronger wards around the property. He's finally convinced me to leave and stay at Grimmauld with Sirius. We move there in three days time." Narcissa sighed, looking wistfully in the direction of her late husband's ancestral home.
Lily took her friends hand and squeezed. She knew what it was like. Losing your husband, leaving the home you shared together, feeling lost, and having to start over. "I'm glad you'll be with family, Cissa. If you ever need a break though, we have two spare rooms. Even if just for a long weekend. I'm going to be lonely without Sev here. He leaves next week." Lily leaned her head on Severus and he wrapped his arm tighter around her waist.
Narcissa nodded and thanked her friend. "I'd love that, Lily. Thank you." They walked closer as the children had started to moved to the other side of the playground equipment. "They're going to be okay, right? My children?" The couple both smiled assuredly, "Carina is having night terrors and Draco cannot sleep. He's seven years old and the head of House Malfoy. Thank Merlin for Frank though. He's been helping navigate everything. It's odd being so close to him again after all this time. We were childhood best friends until Hogwarts, did you know?" A smile brightened her face. Lily and Severus shared a look. They knew there was more than just friendship on Narcissa's mind.
"I just don't understand why you need to go there every day. There are other Aurors in the Ministry. You have a bloody team assigned to her for Merlin's sake!" It was the same argument they had been having. Saskia just couldn't stop overreacting in Frank's opinion.
"She has been one of my closest friends since we were two years old! I told you that yesterday, and the day before that and the week before that. Why must you keep pestering me about it!" Any time Neville was not around, she'd start the questioning. He'd walked out last week and stayed two nights with his mother.
"I just don't like how much she is dependent on you. She is a grown woman! Is she not a capable witch? The poor Pureblooded rich snobby bitch can't handle her own self, is that it?" Frank saw red.
"Don't!" The way he bellowed it caused the witch to freeze. "Narcissa is a better witch than you'll ever be. She's sweet, kind, loving and caring to a fault. She just lost her husband for fuck's sake! Don't you EVER speak ill of her in my presence again! Do you understand!" Saskia looked down ashamed and defeated at first until she looked back up. A look of utter disgust and betrayal on her face.
"I want you to get out. Leave! I have never been spoken to in all my life. So disrespected! You can go stay with your mother or that cunt for all I care. We're through!" Saskia left the room and Frank heard the sounds of her anguished cries as he left through the Floo. "Malfoy Manor!"
Narcissa and the children walked back to the manor with Aurors Jones, Mason, and Robles. The children seemed as if they could breathe again. "And Violet says that I will have a lot of boys chasing after me because I am so beautiful and sweet. Draco says that no wizard will be chasing me if he has any say in it. Right, Dray?" Her son smiled at his baby sister.
"That's right, Car. I'll protect you. Like a knight. You're my little princess." He hugged her to his side. Narcissa smiled. She hoped they stayed this close forever. Draco would be in his fourth year at Hogwarts when Carina started. At least she had eight years until she's alone. Not alone though. She hoped to have someone by then. She loved her husband, don't forget that, but he wasn't her first choice of husband. It was arranged. They didn't even get along at first but eventually learned to love and respect each other after they became pregnant with Draco.
"There's Mr. Longbottom mummy!" Carina cried out as she ran towards the new Head Auror. He'd been promoted after his handling of the Malfoy case. Narcissa couldn't help but smile as she watched the tall man kneel down to catch her daughter in his arms.
"Hello little Miss Carina! Thank you, I really needed that hug." He picked her up and placed her on his shoulders.
"Whoa! Mummy! Look! Now I'm taller than everyone!" Carina shouted out with glee.
"Sir, no problems at the park. All is well." Auror Jones reported. Frank nodded then they all walked the rest of the way to the manor.
Once inside, Frank told the team to take their lunch break. Draco and Carina went to the kitchens with Mipsy, their house elf, to get their own lunch. Narcissa sat for tea and sandwiches with Frank. He looked not quite himself.
"Frankie?" He looked up, his hazel eyes meeting her blue ones. "Something happened? Was it Dolohov? Another attack?" He was quick to quell her fears.
"No, nothing like that. Saskia broke off things. Kicked me out." He said a bit melancholy.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I had thought you were both happy together. Did she say why?" Narcissa had moved next to him on the loveseat and took his hand.
"She was jealous of the time I am spending here," he looked up meeting her concerned gaze, "the time I spend with you." Narcissa felt herself blush in embarrassment.
"But you're my friend, my best friend. Why would she be jealous?" Frank chuckled at that.
"Exactly what I told her. She's been picking fights for over a week now. I think she is just insecure. We rushed into moving in together as well. I liked her but I wasn't in love with her. She was nice and sweet until recently. But today, when she disrespected you? I lost it on her. Nothing physical, no, but she did get one hell of a verbal lashing."
"What did she say about me?" Narcissa asked suddenly seeing herself in her minds eyes ripping the witch's hair out. Frank only shook his head.
"No way in hell I am repeating that, Cissa. Let me just say none of what she said was true and it was clearly her insecurities and jealousy taking over her mind. But, she told me to leave and that were through so that's that." He shrugged and Narcissa pulled him into a hug. She could feel him relax in her arms and it made her smile.
As he was being held by her, it hit him. Saskia did have a reason to be jealous of Narcissa. How had he not realised it? He felt his heart skip, his stomach flip, his cock twitch. He wanted her. He wanted his best friend. And it was not friendship on his mind at the moment. It was picking her up and straddling her over his waist. It was kissing her slowly. It was filling her up with his seed and being with her in every way. He had to leave before he did something unbecoming of an Auror on duty.
"Um, th-thank you. I, uh, have to go check the proximity wards again. I'll be back in a few." He rushed out, thankful for the billowing robes he wore or else she would have clearly seen the hard on he'd gotten from her hugging him.
Lily looked impressed by the restaurant Severus had taken them to. It was a quaint Italian place off Shaftesbury Avenue. They'd all dressed up for one of the last family dinners for a while. He left for Hogwarts next week; really only four days away.
Harry, of course, complained the entire time getting dressed. His shoes hurt his feet, his shirt would not button right. His jacket made him itchy. Severus had so much patience with him and by the time they were ready to leave, he'd finally acquiesced to allow him to wear his trainers.
"Sir, your table is ready. Please, if you will all follow me." The hostess announced. Holding Violet's hand, Severus lead the way with Lily and Harry behind them. The table was set in a secluded area of the restaurant. He wanted privacy for what was to come.
Lily ordered the children each spaghetti with meatballs, then an order of Osso Buco for herself as Severus decided to go with braciola, both with a side of mushroom risotto. A bottle of 1980 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri was ordered. "Nothing beat a good Cab." Lily sighed as she took her first taste of the glass of the delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.
Severus chuckle at her enthusiasm over the spirit. Harry asked if he could try it with both adults quickly squashing his request. "When you're older, sweetheart. This is a bit too rich for you. Look, I'll let you get a cola, okay?" Violet's eyes lit up, "Yes, Vi, you can too but only one glass. Then stick to the water." Both kids agreed and when their soup and salads arrived, the request for two colas was filled.
"Mmm, I love fizzy drink. We should have it more often." Violet quipped to which her older brother agreed.
Dinner arrived, then dessert. Now was the moment he'd been waiting for. The children were given tiramisu then Lily's dessert of fudge cake with two chocolate covered strawberries was set down in front of her. She picked up her fork to taste her cake and it fell from her hands when she saw the ring laying in front of the strawberries. "Sev!" She gasped.
"Lils, you were my first friend, my best friend since we were 10 years old. I know I've made mistakes, but I am lucky that you forgave me for my idiocy. You and the children, you mean everything to me. You're my family. Please make our family a reality and say you'll be my wife. Marry me?" The kids were both smiling broadly at the scene in front of them. Lily's tears of happiness shone in her eyes.
"Yes, of course I will!" She put her hand out as he slid the ring onto her finger. "Oh, it's gorgeous, Sev!" Violet and Harry both came over to hug them.
"It's about time, Uncle Sev!" Harry chuckled as he hugged his soon to be stepfather.
"Does this mean you'll finally have a baby?" Violet exclaimed in her excitement. Everyone laughed then. A family. A true family.
The following week was a crazy one. They threw together a back garden wedding with their closest friends in attendance. Frank used his pull as Head Auror to get a last minute marriage license and a ministry official to preside over the ceremony. Alice baked them a grand cake. Narcissa hired her caterer and used flowers from the Malfoy Estate to decorate the aisle leading to an arbor that Remus and Sirius constructed.
Narcissa and the children had just moved into the top level of Grimmauld Place. She felt like a kid again; showing her children her old hiding spots and the secret passageways. It was smaller than what Draco was used to, but Neville lived there so it was like having a brother. Carina refused to sleep in her room so Narcissa added her bed to her own chambers.
"Hey, cuz? We're getting ready to Floo over to Lily and Snape's. You ready?" Sirius had knocked and asked through her door. She'd been staring at her wedding ring in her hand. She gently stroked it with her other hand; closing her eyes and imagining Lucius there. You look beautiful Cissy. Absolutely stunning. She reopened her eyes, "I'll be out in a moment, Sirius." With one last look at herself, she joined her family downstairs.
Sirius was already doting in his wife, Alice. She was due in a few more weeks and becoming very uncomfortable. "If you're sure." Sirius met his cousin's eye as she arrived. "Alice has been having those fake contractions. I told her we should just go to Mungo's but she says she is fine." Alice rolled her eyes.
"I'm right here, you know? No need for the Black inquisition." Narcissa couldn't help but giggle at the witch. She sure was not going to take any shit from Sirius.
"She knows her body. We can sit while everyone else dances, Alice. I won't be in the best state either." The newlyweds gave her a piteous look. "Children, take my hands." Draco and Carina each took one of their mother's hands and stepped into the Floo. Calling out the address to Lily and Severus's townhouse, they disappeared in the green flames.
"Do you, Lily, take Severus to be your wizard? To have and to hold, to love and cherish until death do you part?" The ministry official spouted his preferred wedding vows.
"I do." Lily smiled brightly up at her best friend. It was happening. She was marrying Severus. She watched him smile at her as well then squeezed her hands.
"And do you, Severus, take Lily to be your witch? To have and to hold, to love and cherish until death do you part?" His heart was beating so fast, he could swear the entire garden full of guests could hear it.
"Yes, I do." He answered, his cheeks hurting from smiling so hard. He looked down next to her and saw Violet and Harry smiling at them.
"Then by the power vested by me and the Ministry of Magic, I announce you husband and wife. My seal hear will make this a binding marriage." He made fantastical wand movements and sparks sprouted from the tip as a golden glow wrapped around them. "You may kiss your witch," he said with a sly smirk.
Severus took her in his arms then slowly kissed her to sounds of their friends and family hooting and hollering.
"Witches and wizards! Ladies and gents! Mister and Missus Severus Archibald Snape!"
Harry felt so awkward but when Luna asked him for a dance, how could he say no? He looked around and saw Draco, Ron, the twins and Neville sniggering at their table as they watch Harry try to dance a waltz with the tiny blonde witch in his arms. "Relax, Harry. I'm not going to bite you know?" Luna giggled at the look of horror on his face. "Just this one dance and I'll leave you alone." His face relaxed into an easy going grin.
"Thanks. I don't really dance if you cannot tell." Luna smiled up at him. "I'm turning seven in two months. I'll be caught up with you for a while. A bit sad I wasn't born a few months earlier. We'll be a year apart at Hogwarts. At least I will have Ginny." She shrugged then stepped back as the song ended. "See? You survived." She kissed his cheek then skipped away to join Ginny and Carina at their table.
Harry walked back to his table with the guys touching the spot she kissed. "Blimey Harry! You kissed a girl!" Ron spluttered.
"No, she kissed him. That's not the same!" Neville argued in his friend's defence. Draco patted him on the back and the twins poked fun at him until Harry blew up at them.
"You're just jealous 'cause no girl fancies you lot! Bugger off!" And he stalked away from them, running up the stairs as soon as he got inside the house then shut himself in his room.
Lily felt so happy. Even though her husband was leaving in two days, she was completely happy to be wed to her best friend. "We should sneak off soon. Looks like Harry went to bed and Violet is passed out on the bench. Molly says they'll take her back to the Burrow with them. We can try to make one of those babies." Severus winked at her and wore a devilish smile.
"Let's say our goodbyes." They left the dance floor hand in hand and walked over to where their friends were. "Alice, you made it the whole wedding. See, Sirius. You doubted that wife of yours." Lily poked at Sirius's shoulder.
"Yes, but I still think we should go to Mungo's." Alice rolled her eyes at him.
"They've stopped. I told you it was just the fake ones, I know my body. It was the same with Neville, right Frank?" Her ex-husband only nodded in agreement?, still feeling awkward around his ex and the man he used to call friend.
"Alright fine, but the first sign of pain on your face and we're Flooing there." Sirius said with a sense of finality.
"Well , we are going to call if a night. I'm ready to get off my feet." Lily announced. "Thank you all for coming. Feel free to continue eating, drinking, and dancing if you'd like."
"Cissa, you staying? I'm going to take the kids back with me and Alice." Sirius looked over to where she was sitting sipping her wine and talking to Lily's sister Petunia and her little boy.
"Yes, just for a little while longer. The music is quite pleasant. I enjoyed our talk, Petunia. Dudley is a sweet boy. A shame I couldn't meet your husband. Maybe another time." Petunia gathered her handbag and son then gave her sister a quick peck on the cheek.
"I'm glad I came, Lily. It was beautiful. Different, but lovely just the same. We'll have tea soon?" Lily was shocked at her sister's affections. What the hell did Narcissa say to bring about this change?
"Of, of course. Yes. I'd really love that Toons." She smiled at the childhood nickname. She watched as her sister and nephew left through the garden gate then turned to Narcissa still sipping her wine. "I don't know what you did but thank you!"
Narcissa waved her off, "It was nothing really. I just told her that I was a recent widow with two young children. I may have also mentioned that her husband's company is a subsidy of Malfoy Enterprises. She hadn't known it was wizard owner. Can you believe that Muggles do not realize how much influence we have in their world? Either way, I may have promised her husband a promotion if she were to finally get over the fact that you are a witch and just get to know you as her sister again. This once or twice a year visit is utter bullshit. Dudley is actually a sweet boy. Might be his father's influence that makes him so bratty when he is around. Personally, I think Petunia could do way better than Vernon Dursley." Lily stood there, mouth agape, in shock.
"I, uh, thank you, Narcissa. That, I don't know what to say." Lily bent down and hugged her friend. "What a great night. We thank you all for coming but my husband here has promised me a night I won't soon forget. Ta ta!" Severus turned bright red as everyone cat-called them as they went inside the house. Severus chuckled then pulled his wife in for a kiss.
"You, my dear, are a complete and utter nutter." He picked her up bridal style and kissed her again before apparating them up to their bedroom. Silencing and locking the room up, he walked her over to the bed. "I want to fuck you in that dress then tear it off of you and fuck you again." He nearly growled with want and lust. Lily felt her clit throb at his words and knew she was already wet and waiting. He reached up her dress and tore her panties off before bunching up the dress to her hips and plunging down to feast on her already soaked pussy. "Fucking hell, so wet for me, my sweet Lily."
Lily's eyes rolled into the back of her head as he licked, sucked, and fingered her. He could feel her walls clenching around his fingers then pulled them out and met her eyes as he sucked them clean from her juices. "Oh god, Sev, I need you!" Lily cried out. He flicked his wand and recited a spell that vanished his clothing. Climbing on top of the bed, he took her legs and pulled her closer. Lily instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist as he slowly entered her. They both groaned at the feel of them meeting together in the most intimate way. "I love you, Lilly. Let me show you how much."
The following morning, the newlyweds awoke and could smell something burning. Severus quickly conjured his robe and ran to see what was going on. "Good morning! I'm making you guys breakfast!" Harry said with pride as Severus looked at the dark brown toast slathered in butter and jam. Lily joined a moment later wrapped in her own robe and smiled at her son's sweet gesture.
"Oh, Harry, sweetheart. Thank you but we are all going to brunch at The Burrow today, remember. But, so that the toast is not wasted, we can each have a bite, right?" She eyed her husband and smirked. Severus rolled his eyes at her and turned to his stepson.
"No, I will eat the toast while you get ready my dear." Harry handed the plate of burnt toast to Severus and he took a bite. Harry waited for him to remark on his first attempt at making 'breakfast'. Seveus smiled tightly, "Delicious." He said with no emotion, but the little boy was so happy to hear the word 'delicious' that he didn't even realize it was aid sarcastically. "Now, go get ready son." Son. He'd called him son.
Harry stopped and turned slowly, a look of awe on his face. "I am now, aren't I? I am your son. Violet is your daughter. You are our dad." Harry's eyes teared up as he watched Severus look shocked at his words. The look of shock morphed into a smile and then a light laugh.
"Yes, I am. I'm your dad, Harry." Harry ran to him and hugged him around his waist. Severus picked him up and hugged him even tighter. With an emotion he'd never felt before, his voice quaked as he repeated his words, "I'm your dad."
"Shut up!" Alice spat as she stared at the ceiling of the hospital room. Sirius fought his smugness about being right. She was in labour. Full on labour. It was just an hour after falling asleep that she awoke with a start. Her water had broken and her contractions were back full force and there was so much pressure.
"I didn't even say anything, love." He fought his need to chuckle. She screamed out in pain with the next contraction and he sprung back out of his chair to reach her side.
"Mrs. Black. Mr. Black. Healer Mathews is on her way. In the meantime, I'm going to check your cervix." The petite mediwitch came over to look and gasped. "Oh! The head is crowning! This baby is coming now!" Sirius stood straighter and Alice tightened her grip. "I'm going to need help in here!" She yelled them another mediwitch entered. "Angie, grab the blankets and get the warming station ready! Mrs. Black, at the next contraction, you're going to give us a real good push, okay?"
Alice nodded and not 5 seconds later, she was pushing. "Very good! The head is out." She was suctioning fluid from the baby's nose and mouth. Another contraction hit and Alice pushed. Two more pushes and she was out. "It's a girl!" She announced as she lay her on the blankets on top of Alice's stomach. Wrapping the baby up, the mediwitch handed her to Alice. Sirius cried and hugged the mediwitch that just delivered his first child then joined Alice and their daughter at her bedside.
"You were brilliant Love! Absolutely brilliant!" He kissed his wife on her lips then kissed the top of their daughter's head. "What shall we name her? Did you still like Melinda?" She shook her head.
"No, I think we'll go with your choice. Did you realise what time of day it is?" He turned and the early morning hours of dawn had arrived. "It's a new dawn, my sweet. We shall call her Aurora."
Sirius smiled down at his beautiful girls, "My little Rory." He took her from Alice and cradled her in his arms. "You, my little dove, are going to be so loved. Daddy and mummy and brother will always protect you." He took her over to the warming station so the mediwitch could clean her up and give her a nappy.
Healer Mathews came in as they finished up. "Oh my goodness, congratulations! She was an impatient one, eh? Anxious to meet mum and dad?" She looked over Aurora and ran a diagnostic scan. "Perfect, dad. Just over 3 kilograms and 50 centimetres long. Here she is." After wrapping her up tighter than a burrito, she handed Aurora back to Sirius.
"I'll Floo your mum and dad to get Neville from Arthur and Molly's." He announced as he gave the baby to her mum to nurse.
With an extra skip to his step, the proud Poppa made his way to the Floo network at St. Mungo's and notified his in-laws of the birth of their new granddaughter then asked them to Floo the Weasley's. His next call was to Remus.
"What the bloody hell, Sirius! It's 5 o'clock in the morning!" His grumpy bestie growled.
"Aw, is that any way to greet your goddaughter's daddy?" He chuckled as he watched his friend's eyes bulge out of his skull.
"Alice had the baby? It's a girl!" Sirius nodded his head and grinned at him. "Let me get dressed! I'll be there in a few minutes!" He closed off the Floo connection and shook his head.
"Might as well grab a tea and some biscuits to hold me over." Sirius prepared himself and Alice both cups of tea and returned to the room. "Remus is on his way." He stopped and stared. "That's the most beautiful sight I've ever beheld." Alice was nursing the baby with a look of contentment across her face. She looked up and smiled sweetly at her husband.
"I know we did this all wrong. Hurt people. But, just look at her. I can't imagine my life now without you and her. Our little family." He sat next to her on the bed after she scooted over to give him space.
"When I knew I was falling in love with you, I couldn't help but go after you. It was selfish, I know that, but so worth it. I would have died alone. Never found anyone else to love. I knew it in my heart that it was you, the annoying swot I used to pick on in school, the first girl to kiss me (even if it was on the cheek when we were seven), I knew you were the one but let Frank marry you anyway. He knew I loved you. I told him at his Stag party. I was really pissed on cheap whiskey and it just poured out of me. He told me that it was too bad because you loved him, not me. You were marrying him, not me. You were pregnant with his child, not mine. Then I kinda sorta took a swing at him, landed on my face, and Remus took me home. It's why I did not come to the wedding."
Alice sat speechless. She'd never known. Frank never said anything. "I didn't know. I thought you hated me since fourth year when I smacked you for grabbing my arse and calling you a pervert after Gryffindor won the House Cup." They both laughed.
"I think it just made me want you more honestly. You know I like it rough." He fake barked at her and she giggled.
"Not in front of the baby." She said with fake sternness. They heard a knock on the door and Alice unlatched the baby from her breast and covered herself before Sirius opened the door for Remus to enter.
"Congratulations, Alice! Can I see her? What's her name?" A very excited Remus Lupin entered the room and she couldn't help but smile.
"Mooney! Thank you so much! Of course you can see her. Aurora is your goddaughter after all." His face lit up even more as she transferred Aurora into his arms.
"The dawn and the Moon, very fitting of us, yeah?" He said gently as he coo'd at the sleeping babe in his arms. "Merlin, I love her already." He sat in the chair as his best mate and Alice watched with serene scene before them.
A knock at the door broke them from their reverence. "Mum!" Neville came through the door grinning ear to ear. He stopped when he saw Remus holding the baby. "Is that her? My sister?" He asked with a slight tremble in his voice.
"Come on over closer, Nev. This is your baby sister, Aurora." Remus said as he turned the baby a bit so the young boy could see. As he got closer, he reached out to touch her, and she opened her eyes to see who her new visitor was. She had an olive complexion like Sirius but light hair and bright blue eyes like her mum and big brother.
"Hi, Aurora. I'm your big brother, Neville Francis Longbottom." He stroked her chubby, fisted hand and she blink up at him. "You're so cute." He looked up at his mum and stepdad. "She's so cute." They both smiled at him then Alice put her arms out and Neville ran over to jump into bed next to her. Hugging his mum, he looked over at Sirius. "Congratulations Sirius. Love you mum." He cuddled into her side and lay there for a while.
"Grandmom and Grandpa would like a turn." They heard as Alice's parents peaked in the room. Remus stood up and Mrs. Fortescue sat in the chair he'd occupied. Remus handed Aurora off to her then said a quick goodbye.
"Congratulations again you guys. She's perfect."
Narcissa felt her hangover as soon as she began to stir awake. The next thing she felt was an arm around her waist. She peaked one eye open and almost squealed. How much did she drink last night? The last thing she remembered was dancing and saying goodnight to the kids before they left. How did she end up in bed with, "Frankie?" He only tightened his hold on her. "Francis Robert Longbottom the third!"
"Hmm, Cissa. Stop yelling." Frank suddenly opened his eyes then sat up. "Cissa! I'm sorry! I must have fallen asleep." At least they were both dressed so she assumed nothing happened.
"What happened last night?" She waited god him to explain. He conjured up two glasses of water and handed her one. "Thanks." She sipped the water and closed her eyes feeling the cold sensation go shown her throat.
"You were too drunk to apparate back and the Snape's must have turned their Flo off for the night, so I side-alonged with you. You were upset and talking about Lucius and moving on. I sat with you for a bit but we must've fallen asleep in the parlour." At the thought of Carina being all alone in their room, she jumped up from the chaise lounge. Losing her balance, Frank caught her before she face planted.
He looked down at her in his arms and couldn't help himself. He crashed his lips to hers. She sighed into his kiss and he felt her hands make their way into his hair before she pulled him away from her mouth. "Forgive me. I, uh, I don't know what came over me." He set himself off in the direction of the Floo. "I'll see you soon. Again, I'm sorry, Cissa." She said nothing but stared at his hastily retreating form. When she heard the Floo go off, she touched her lips with the tips of her fingers and smiled.
