To say the atmosphere in the room was awkward would be an understatement... the atmosphere in the room was quite tense, in fact one could actually cut it with a knife, and for some reason Nora was actually trying to do that?
Ren of course stopped her as they looked over to the table where Jaun was sitting across from both Ruby and Pyrrha. Both girls looking at him like he owed them an explanation, and in some form of way he did.
"So, Jaune. Care to explain to us how you're alive?"inquired Ruby, wondering how her best friend, who for the longest time she thought was dead was still alive.
"Yes, and please do not out leave any details."added Pyrrha, as Jaune could tell that both of these girls were upset with him.
But not angry. More upset that he didn't tell them that he was alive. But he has only been in Remnant a few days and he didn't know where they were, add to the fact he didn't know how to use a scroll anymore how was it his fault he didn't call them as soon as he came back?!
"When I was on Beacon Tower, ready to sacrifice myself in order to take down Cinder Fall with me, I did it with a makeshift bomb I use by mixing benzene fuel with a bunch of dust crystals that I asked Weiss to give me during the Vytal festival, for in case rent or Nora needed extra ammo"said Jaune, as the girls and everyone else were giving him a look that said continue.
"Well apparently exploding all of those dust crystals at once created some kind of what I like to call a rift in the space-time continuum, and at that moment of explosion I was sucked into the portal to another world."said Jaune, as that was a summary of everything that happened to him at Beacon Tower.
"Another world."said Ruby with skepticism.
"You guys found out magic is real, so why is another world so unrealistic?"asked Jaune, wondering how the possibility of another world was so unrealistic when magic turned out to be real.
"Okay, good point. So what happened next!"demanded Pyrrha, wondering where the boy she loved ended up.
"I ended up on a beach in Kuri, in a country I would later learn was name the Land of Wano. There I met three guys that I would eventually call my good friends Kawamatsu, Dogstorm, and Cat Viper. We were just barely getting acquainted with one another when we were attacked by the locals. Before we could process what was happening, they had tied us up on wooden poles and plan to burn us alive as they considered us freaks."said Jaune, who founded ironic that he was willing to burn alive to kill Cinder, and that would have been the first thing to happen to him as soon as he ended up in Wano.
"So, what happened next?"asked Ren, as everyone in the room listened in.
"I thought we were goners until those men were smashed by a giant koi fish. Courtesy of the man I would later serve whose name was Kozuki Oden."said Jaune, remembering the interesting first experience he had when he met his late Lord.
"He was named after a dish?"asked Nora, as oden was a specialty meal in Mistral.
"The naming sense in that world is a little messed up. Anyway he saved our lives and scolded those men before leaving us there before we managed to convince him to come back and untie us."said Jaune, as the people listening in wondered why he would have just left them there?
"After we shared a bowl of oden, Lord Oden took us in and gave us everything we could want. Food, freshwater, and a roof over our head. As soon as he found out I knew a bit about swordsmanship, he and his vassals started training me in the way of the sword, and with time we grew together close like a weird, makeshift family."said Jaune, remembering all the fun times he had with Kin'emon and the others.
"Okay, but why do you look much older?"asked Weiss, nursing clear signs of aging and the boy who used to hassle her for a date.
"Because what's only been a few months for you guys... has been thirteen long years for me."said Jaune, and what he heard next in shock him.
"WHAT?!"asked pretty much everyone in the room.
"Yeah, I think I turned thirty years old last month."said Jaune, who has long since forgotten when his birthday was.
"But if that's true you age really well."said Nora, as Jaune look like he was barely in his twenties.
"What can I say? A good diet and constant exercise does wonders."said Jaune, as despite being poor the last five years, he and the others were given proper meals by Oden in order to be strong enough to take care of his family.
"This is shocking to say the least, Mr Arc "said Ozpin, speaking through Oscar.
"Not that shocking is finding out your practically immortal, Professor Ozpin."replied Jaune, as he believed that was more shocking.
"So Kid, actually I don't know if I should keep calling you that since you're a man now, but since I beat you by a few years I'm going to keep calling you that."said Qrow, as Jaune just shrugged his shoulders as that indicated he didn't care either way.
"Anyway, so what happened after you became a this Oden?"asked Qrow, wondering what happened next.
"Well nothing drastic happened until a few years later when a pirate ship landed on the shores of Kuri. Though much persuasion and selfishness on Lord Oden's part, he managed to convince those pirates to take him with them, and me and another guy named Izo got dragged along for the ride. Dogstorm and Cat Viper suspected Lord Oden was going to pull a stunt the last night the Pirates were in Kuri, so they snuck aboard by putting themselves in barrels the Pirates were going to take with them. Anyway Edward Newgate, or better known as Whitebeard, captain of the pirate ship decided to test Lord Oden by making him hold on to a chain beneath the ocean for three days."said Jaune, shocking everyone that's who in their right mind would agree to such a deal!
"Who in their right mind would make someone do that?!"asked Weiss, has no normal person could have survived spending three days drive through the ocean.
"Yeah, but Lord Oden did it. Although technically he gave up the last minute in order to save his future wife from a band of pirates who were led by a pirate with a octopus on his head for some reason."said Jaune, recalling how Lord Oden and Lady Toki first meet.
"Tell us!"said the girls, who were suckers for love stories.
"Lord Oden landed on the beach and scared the Pirates by making them think he was an Umibozu. Lady Toki treated his injuries and eventually I managed to convince Whitebeard and the others to go back for him just as the enemy pirates were regrouping. Whitebeard knocked out there Captain and the enemy surrendered without a fight upon seeing him. Next thing we know Lady Toki comes with us and in time they grew so close to one another after he saved her life and they eventually fell in love and had a child, named Momonosuke."said Jaune, as the girls could already imagine that love story.
"Later they had a daughter named Hiyori. I tell you I have never seen two people so in love."said Jaune, as Qrow was honestly envious of this Oden, even though he never met him.
"So, anything else kid?"asked Qrow, as Jaune forgot he was recalling his tale.
"Um... Anyway a few years passed and we eventually ended up on an island where we found Whitebeard's greatest enemy/rival Gol D Roger. We ended up fighting the Roger Pirates for three days and three nights straight before on the fourth day everyone for some reason decided to stop fighting and trade our items with one another instead."said Jaune, as he could tell by the looks from the people's faces that they were questioning why.
"Why would people who were fighting end up deciding to be buddy buddy with one another and trade their goods and other stuff?"asked Yang, but Jaune just shrugged his shoulders as he honestly had no idea.
After all the Pirates he considered friends and family were crazy that way!
"Well getting back to the story on the fourth day, Roger found out that Lord Oden could read the writings of these indestructible cubes called the Poneglyphs, basically they are cubes that tell the Lost history of that world. But back to the story after finding out that he could read them, Roger got on his hands and knees and begged Whitebeard to borrow Lord Oden for a year so they could find the final Island on the grand line that he suspected existed."said Jaune, as everyone listened in closely.
"And?"asked Nora, wanting to know what happened next.
"Well Oden didn't know why, but he wanted to go with Roger and ended up begging new gate to go with him. And after much reluctance and a lot of boulder punching Whitebeard finally agreed. I decided to go with him and his family as I was the one in charge of making sure that Lord Oden's recklessness didn't get him killed. Dogstorm and Cat Viper decided they wanted to come along too so I snuck them into two barrels that were just lying around and put them aboard the Oro Jackson, the Roger Pirates ship."said Jaune, recalling how angry the Roger Pirates were with him for his stunts with Dogstorm and Cat Viper.
"You are too reckless for your own good."said Oscar, as Jaune couldn't disagree with that.
"Anyway, we ventured with the Roger Pirates and saw things we never saw before. An island of Fishmen and mermaids underneath the sea, an island in the sky, a country on top of a giant ancient elephant, a city that looked like it was a big giant fountain, and so much more."said Jaune, referring to Fishman Island, Skypiea, Zou, and Water Seven.
"Wow..."said Ruby with stars in her eyes.
"But I'm guessing it wasn't all fun and adventure since you're literally covered in muscles and scars."said Qrow, being able to tell that Jaune was a seasoned warrior.
"Well, yeah. I remember one time a pirate known as Shiki the Golden Lion tried to pressure Roger into becoming his right hand man and joining an alliance with him so he could take over the world with a fleet of ships and thousands of pirates at his beck and call. But Rodger absolutely refused, then all of us minus a cabin boy known as Buggy decided to fight. It became known as The Great Battle of the Edd War. Shiki survived the battle but ended up having a steering wheel lodged into his head that made him look like a rooster."said Jaune with a giggle, as remembering that image of the golden lion with that steering wheel in his head honestly made him laugh.
"So you guys took on and our motto of ships with only one ship on the open ocean?"asked Ren, wondering when Jaune ended up turning out so reckless.
"Yeah."said Jaune, who was proud of himself and everything he did in that battle.
"Jaune, you could have been killed!"said Pyrrha with worry.
"But I'm alive! There is no point about worrying about the past as there is no way to turn back the clock."said Jaune, as many of his friends were surprised by how reckless he was.
"Getting back to the story. It was found out that there was a final Island but you needed some special Poneglyphs known as Road Poneglyphs in order to find it. We ended up finding all of them but before we could get to the last Island, Lady Toki grew ill and we had to make a quick stop at Wano so she could disembark and rest to get better. Lord Oden was planning to go with her but she threatened to divorce him if he even tried as she knew he would regret it for the rest of his life if he disembarked. Dogstorm and Cat Viper decided to stick with her in order to help her assimilate with the Land of Wano, as she has never been there before."said Jaune, as many of the girls cooed upon hearing how well Toki knew her husband.
"After a quick stop that same cabin boy Buggy also grew well and it was decided that some of us would have to stay behind to make sure he wouldn't be hurt by enemies of the Roger Pirates, and I volunteered. I didn't go to the last island with the others but I heard that they had one heck of a time and couldn't stop laughing as soon as they reached Laugh Tale, the final Island that the Roger Pirates named as they were the first ones to reach it so they had the right to name it."said Jaune, as the first person to discover something had the right to name it.
"Wow."said Weiss, as it sounded like Jaune had quite an adventurous life.
"So what happened next?"asked Ruby,as Jaune swallowed a large lump down his throat before he continued.
"Not long after that, Roger was being called the King of the Pirates for having found the last island of the Grand Line. Soon every enemy though Roger Pirates ever made was starting to look for us, and Roger himself decided around that time that it was time to spend the Roger Pirates."said Jaune, as this part always brought tears to his eyes.
"What do you mean?"asked Pyrrha, why the Roger Pirates decided to disband.
"During the early part of the journey with the Roger Pirates, I discovered that Roger was diagnosed with an incurable disease that was slowly killing him. He decided to live life on the edge until he found the last Island. And after he completed his dream he decided it was time to disband the crew as the disease was going to kill him sooner or later.So on that day he announced it, the crew all started crying as he was a great leader and friend, and I'm going to honestly miss him as the last time I saw him he was waving goodbye to us as we sailed away on the Oro Jackson."said Jaune, who will always remember Roger fondly.
"He sounded like he was a great warrior and leader, Mr Arc."said Ozpin though Oscar.
"Anyway... that's enough storytelling for one day as it's getting pretty late. I'll try to tell you guys the rest of it later, but for now we need to get our sleep as we have a big day ahead of us."said Jaune, causing everyone to boo at him for cutting the story so short.
"Jaune." said Ruby, as Jaune was walking away.
Naune turned around to see Ruby and Pyrrha run over and hug him once again.
"I'm so glad you're alive! I was so devastated when I thought I lost you and knowing that my best friend is alive means the world to me!"said Ruby, as she hugged Jaune tightly.
"I haven't been myself since you "died." Having you back in my life means the world to!"said Pyrrha, as even though he was older he was still Jaune, the lovable idiot she fell in love with back at Beacon.
"Yeah... I'm really glad to see you guys too..."said Jaune, trying his best to contain his emotions.
"Well, we will tell you what we have been doing since you left to that other world tomorrow, and you can tell us the rest of your story some other time."said Ruby, as everyone decided to call it a night as they headed off to bed.
"Go with Yang and Weiss, Ruby. I'm sure you all have a lot of catching up to do."said Jaune, as he knew most of team RWBY really missed one another and they would need a lot of catching up to do.
"Yeah! Team JNPR is back, baby!"said Nora with enthusiasm as everyone was heading back to their rooms for the night.
Jaune meanwhile smile the sad smile as he walked out to the balcony to look at the Moon.
'There is no way I can tell them I don't plan to stay. I can't tell them that I plan to go back to the Grand Line and head back to the Land of Wano for the final battle against Orochi and Kaido. Twenty years have passed since the final battle between Oden and Kaido, and I can only imagine how much the people have suffered in that time. I'm part of the Ten Red Scabbards! It's my duty to free the citizens of Wano Country from their oppressors and make Momonosuke the new Shogun so Wano can finally begin to heal! I need to be there for the final battle of Onigashima! I promised Lord Oden and Lady Toki that I would be there, and an Arc never breaks his promise!' thought Jaune, determined to find a way to get back to Wano for the final battle with the allies Kin'emon and Momonosuke have gathered.
"I wonder what kind of people those young Pirates who are destined to defeat Kaido are like?"wondered Jaune, as Qrow, who was eavesdropping wondered who this Kaido person even was.
